1. Exciting and enlightening bit of history. - I became exhausted at the energy verbalized of the boat races like I had been pulling on one of the oars myself. I never thought how they could be so exciting a game a nail biting thriller. I was up at two in the morning squirming in my sheets to finish a race. Wow!

2. Wonderful piece of art! - Words cannot simply convey how much I enjoyed reading this book. It was recommended to me by a local sports station radio host Craig Miller. His passion for the book and the sports tie in compelled me to purchase and read this wonderful piece of art. There were times I found myself cheering the Washington boys on as if I were right there with them and at other times I found myself weeping because of the hardships. This is a wonderful piece of art and if you are looking for a story of perseverance, brotherhood, teamwork and love of family then look no more. Well done Daniel!

3. Teamwork - This book was brought to my attention by an anesthesiologist I worked with In Eureka, California. I have never been much of a boater and only went out to do freshwater fishing. I was somewhat reluctant to give this book a chance. All that changed into the first chapter. This was a page turner from the git-go! This story was about young me with courage and guts, about families from different backgrounds, about perseverance and giving all you have as part of a team to accomplish a goal that in the beginning, no one thought it could be done. This is a great book. BTW... I learned a lot about boating reading this true story about the Boys In The Boat.

4. Amazingly well written! - After reading this book, I cannot adequately express how well written it was! I felt like I wanted to know each and every person in this story - well except for the German connection. Truly amazes me the challenges people have had to go through, and the success they achieve!! What a truly fascinating story. I found it extremely inspiring and am so proud of these people that were and are part of our country. Their hard work, dedication, perseverance, respect and grit was incredible! Thank you for introducing me to this grueling sport I knew nothing about. Thank you to those that wanted to share this story, and thank you for writing it so beautifully! I even found the notes fascinating to read!!!

5. Boys In the Boat - An excellent account of men (aka boys) who teamed together to form an unbeatable force of human spirit and unselfish determination. This at a time of great hardship and challenges for most American families and individuals, The Depression. The book made me appreciate even more the tenacity and courage that was part of America’s DNA in the lead up to WW II. Gary Jones

6. Enticing, enthralling and emotive - I cannot praise this book and Edward Herrmann's reading of it enough. This tale of rowing goes so far beyond the sport to truly put the reader into the s and to understand not only the time in America but to set the stage in Germany as well. I knew next to nothing about rowing prior to this book and now feel entranced by the sport. In short, this book is inspiring, educating, motivating, humbling and moving. Listen to/read it now as you won't regret it

7. Never give up - I almost made a terrible decision after a few pages: stop reading about rowing. I'm not sure why I returned to this book after more than two months, but I'm so glad I did. This time I could not stop, reading into the early morning hours and ignoring other duties just so I could squeeze in some afternoon reading time. This book is well-written and informative, but most of all, the story is one of those powerful revelations of the human will that rises when all forces are trying to hold it down. After the tears I shed for crushed families and the cheers I raised for the Olympic rowers, I'm so glad I kept reading. I

8. Awesome Book - I am in no way an avid reader or a fan of rowing. In fact, I have never even seen a rowing race, but this book was still an awesome read. The story of the team reaching Olympic glory is amazing, but the book has a lot to offer beyond just the story of the rowing crew. It gives great insight into that time period and what it was like to live in the Great Depression. It also has great sub-stories on each of that athletes, which makes you feel like you know them and paints a great picture of their lives and perspectives. Overall it is an awesome book and I will be reading it again.

9. A Journey worth taking. - I have to admit that I knew very little about the sport of sculling before reading this book. I had heard it was one of the most physically demanding sports on the planet. This was proven true in the pages of this book. it is the true story of a great College and the Sculling Team of Washington State and their quest for Olympci Gold. It is also a story of how the Great Depression played a role in the lives of their crews and the people of Seatle and North Western Washington State who cheered them on. A soaring story of work and sacrifice that these students and coaches endured to reach their goal. I am forever in debt to Mr. Daniel James Brown for writing their story. It is such a inspiration to me.

10. Simply Perfect - I have never felt compelled to write a review for a book before but I was so taken by this story I must share. I cheered, cried, and gasped in disbelief over what Joe had to endure. The real life human interest story intertwined with the sport of rowing, the history of our country, along with the west, the Depression, the bubbling up of evil in Germany and the ultimate War was simply yet brilliantly presented. My feeble description cannot do it justice. Typically, when I love a book I race through it, but with "Boys" I savored it like a favorite food and made sure I'd have something to come home to until I just had to finish it.

11. Emotional, heart stopping inspiring true story. - Growing up on Lake Quinsigamond and watching the Eastern Sprints for years it was certain I was meant to read this book. What an inspirational story of grit, determination and strength. Nine unlikely boys entering a boat house one fall and three years later beating , against extreme odds Germany and England to win a Gold medal.
Daniel Brown has written this story in such a way that , even though you know these boys go on to win a gold medal, you just have to read their stories. This book has so much heart you feel every emotion, every ache and every victory these boys feel. You will cry and you will cheer and like me you may even pump you hand in the air when they win that medal!
Wonderful story, well written and if you know anyone who rows a must read.

12. Boys in the Boat - Love this book. I could not put it down. A true story about young men who lived hard lives and fought through many different challenges to become the worlds best oarsmen. More importantly, it demonstrates what perseverance, determination, belief in one's self and teamwork can accomplish.

1. Hogan makes it simple! - I have been playing golf for years, taken many lessons, and have practiced hours on the range. This book breaks down the fundamental like no other. If you start with a proper grip, the correct posture, the proper backswing, begin the downswing with you hips, and trust this chain reaction… you will improve.

2. Foundational book - I’m just beginning to pick up the game in my late s and this book has answered so many questions I’ve asked my friends while hacking my way through a course… everyone has a different answer of course. This book clearly (and I assume) accurately lays the foundation for the entire game.

3. Must read book for golfers - Ben Hogan was so ahead of his time. The format of this book is so enjoyable to read and so easy to understand. He provides excellent illustrations and explanations of the fundamentals of golf swing. I’ve been playing golf for years and I’ve never read this book until now. It was a good reminder to me to get back to the basics.

1. Amazing Book. Life Changing. - This book has the ability to change lives. Not only did Kobe change the game of basketball by becoming the example of a true winner, he also was a winner off the court. I am still in disbelief, currently in that he is no longer here physically. He will forever be here in spirit. You, your daughter, and the other passengers will forever live on. Prayers to all of their families. This book is a must read because indulge into this masterpiece.

2. The greatest athlete of his time. - This book is a good read for Kobe fans. A lot of basketball nerd stuff in here but entertaining none the less. A lot of things i already knew, a lot of very good images, a lot of nuance. I really enjoyed it, was good to hear it from Kobe officially in some respect.

3. Kobe - Great read. Quick & easy. I really enjoyed the motivational nuggets, even though it only had a few. Only disappointing thing was the he dint go in-depth with the situations he brought up. I guess it would have made the book longer, but some personal stories beyond the surface level would have been nice.

4. Inspiration that I will forever reference for growth - This book was everything I wanted to read and more. There is a reason that Kobe has touched my heart, hangs on a poster in my room, and crosses my mind everyday. When I train I remember that I’m only % deep and have countless hours of training left. Head down and grinding, head up and observing how to defeat the competition while perfecting my craft. My dedication will never leave me because he reminded me of its value. RIP Kobes & thank you for the mentality

5. Lawrence Trice Review - This book was everything to me. I’ll admit, I was never a Kobe fan growing up. DWade was my guy. But something about Kobe’s last year in the league brought more of an appreciation to his journey for me. I would occasionally watch interviews of him and watch a lot of his old highlights. He was really smart and he didn’t back down to tough questions and didn’t have a feeling of regret. Growing up, fear constantly held me back from living to my full potential. I worried about failing or what someone else would think or say. I couldn’t actually live like I should have. Kobe’s mindset was all about going through the journey and enjoying every part of it whether it was bad or good. To learn from the down falls, and to work everyday finding ways to improve yourself. To not listen to the naysayers. To understand if you mess up, that’s Ok. Now move on and create a testimony from it later. Be great and know that you are. Be passionate about your craft and don’t let anyone you work with accept less than that. Confidence is misunderstood. His sense of lack of fear didn’t mean he did not fear. But he never stay in that state. Always moved on and continued to be great. That’s what I continue to learn from Kobe Bryant. -LT

6. Great book - This book has a lot of tips and cool secrets Kobe has learned over his career and really helps people understand what the mamba mentality really is. It has a lot of pictures that will bring back memories. It’s well written but I would recommend this for teens or pre teens due to the fact that the pictures fill up every other page

1. Brilliant! - Moneyball is one of the most compelling stories in modern sports. The Oakland A's with their meager payroll represent a true David vs. Goliath tale. Michael Lewis exposes the backstories and heartbreaks of the team dubbed most appropriately as the "island of misfit toys." A reader cannot help but genuinely care about the subjects of this book and root for their continued success. Critics of Billy Beane and saber metrics management only serve to make themselves look foolish. Read this book today. You won't regret it.

1. Don’t bother... - I was really excited to read this book but it turned out to be one of the worst books I’ve read. It was like one long, never ending chapter that just kept repeating itself. Constantly referred to the same few basketball players and driving in the same few points the whole book. I honestly didn’t take away much at all from this unfortunately

2. Exactly what I needed for before launching my business! - Tim Grover does a great job by indirectly telling you how to transform your mindset to the same ideals and values that the greats instilled into their every day lives. I’ve read this book twice in one week and it has pushed me to another tier of “doing” that I didn’t think I was capable of. Tim Grover, thank you for everythung sir!

3. Simply Great - You’d be doing yourself a disservice by not reading this book. I’m not as much of an avid reader as I’d like to be, I mostly consume much of my daily. Intake of motivational and introspective ideological information from places such as forums, YouTube and the likes. However, this book or rather this - page long dogma will change your life completely if you truly adhere to its guidelines. No wonder Kobe was so committed because he saw things in himself that no one else’s could, manifested it and brought it to the forefront for everyone to see, and each and every last one of you can achieve much of the same maybe not in basketball specifically (who knows) but In any one of your respective fields of work. These rules can also apply to things outside of jobs like dating, hobbies, ambitions, dreams, goals, etc. TLDR; This book is a must read for dreamers, procrastinators and those who long to physically and mentally improve themselves in almost every facet of life.

4. Relentless review - This book gives me the factotum mentality I needed to know; especially how MJ thinks. I was born and raised in Chicago and love to play basketball; which is another reason why I was interested in this book. I do admit, some of the Cleaner's action mentioned in the book were things I felt guilty doing. But it clearly defined what that was. I give it a -star for now as I will apply this in my life and come back with another review. If I come back with a -star review, then you know the results.

5. Relentless - This is great book that provides a well detailed breakdown of the personality traits of people in business and sports. Grover gives insight on the "cleaner" mentality that fueled great athletes such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade. Having trained the most elite athletes in the game, Grovers level of insight is unmatched. Great read for young athletes and anyone looking to improve their level of performance in their respective fields.

6. To beat cancer, you must be mentally tough. - Cancer is just as much a mental battle as it is physical fight. This book prepared me for the long fight and to this day I am year free of Colon cancer. I dunked a basketball for the first time post- cancer battle, months after my last surgery. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Grover, this book probably saved my life.

7. Beyond Great!! - I've always been a basketball fan, but a spectator-- I never played any sport outside of the playground level.
You don't need to have sports experience to get something out of this mental masterpiece. You'll learn the mentalities of some of the greatest NBA champions of the last twenty years-- Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, and of course, the legendary Michael Jordan! What makes/made each of them the best is not settling for being good enough, or even great, or even a champion-- it's about being an icon-- totally relentless in your pursuit of absolute victory time and time again! You'll learn to never be satisfied, to always push to improve, to trust your instincts-- that is, you'll learn these things if you have the right mentality deep inside already. If you're the type who makes excuses or is easily content, don't waste your time and money. For me personally, I felt like every page was revealing something about me that I already had inside-- it only had to be awakened. If you're ready, hopefully this book can help take your mindset to the next level no matter what you choose to apply it to-- read it, live it, and go be relentless!!!

8. Let Down - Honestly couldn't finish it. Every line is a cliche or analogy. Great for those who need motivation but not for those already motivated and simply hoping to see what makes athletes successful. Considerable amount of F-bombs through the first pages that I read - not that it bothers me, but it may bother you. All I can say is that if you want to make a line impactful or meaningful, you can't try to make them all stand out - they will all just blend in. The effect is lost. Some will love, but personally I'm not a fan. Tim would make for a great motivational speaker.

9. Great motivation - I stumbled across this book looking for something to motivate my sales team. Excellent read. Our society was built by cleaners but sadly we are finding more and more people who are told good job and that's ok you tried, we've become a society of whimps. This book teaches us that to truly achieve greatness in everything in life that you have to separate yourself from this plague of mediocrity that surrounds us on all levels. Great book job well done

1. Loved this book - As a fellow person who's passionate about golf I can say this book has given me a fun new insight onto how hard it really is to make it. I laughed hysterically a few times, and wish I had the balls (no pun intended) to take a leap of faith at just about anything and put as much passion as Tom Coyne has into his golf experience. What a great read.

It went into entertaining depth about the history of the tournament, the players that were the bedrock of the event, and the past champions through Tiger in . I read it in only a few days because each chapter’s heading made me want to read more. Great approach to something that has been written about many times before!

1. This book was awesome! - Great story of personal perseverance but what I liked the most were the details on training and nutrition tips for endurance athletics, and just living a better life in general. I got several solid tips for training and nutrition that I’m excited to try. Thanks for sharing Rich!

2. Powerful Just in Time message - I loved this story. I can relate to Rich on so many levels! As a fellow baby, I am blown away by how you was able to crush his middle agedom! Will I ever go to the lengths he did physically—no— but that’s not my jam. His story created a space in me to push my commitments fort zone! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to see this window of his life Highly recommend!!

3. A must read! - Rich Roll is a truly inspiring man. Loved this book about his journey. He has inspired me to listen to my convictions and contemplate the vegan lifestyle. His story has motivated me to get up, lose my excess pounds, and truly push myself to achieve great things. Ultra marathons are likely not in my future, but Rich has inspired me to achieve my own goals. Thank you for being you, Rich; the very best You!

4. Brilliant - I am very moved by Rich Roll's story and choices to become the best he can be for others. He advertises products to help and guide others for a better mind, body and spirit. I see his "advertisements" as a blessing because it saves me "time" that he probably spent researching and experimenting on the benefits of a plant based diet. This book is about the struggles and choices of one man to rediscover his true God given potential, learn to forgive the past and not let his past anchor his future, relearn the meaning of love and self love and finally, to bravely step to HOPE.

5. Inspiring Triumph of the Mind and Body - "Finding Ultra" is a great easy read that will make you want to stop from taking that third helping of fried chicken and gravy mashed potatoes and get out there and find your active spirit. This book is for anyone who has competed at any level of sports and may feel he/she has lost that fighting edge. There is still hope for us parents who have gotten a little round in the belly, but want to renourish that desire to be active, push our physical and mental selves, and find our own Ultra.
2013-10-04
6. He definitely found Ultra! - Rich's story is awe-inspiring to say the least. Such a great read and I actually made a decision to go plant-based after further external research. The people that say "it's an advertisement or infomercial" are silly. Rich promotes the products he uses.... He's an ultra athlete and he has to have a lot of gear and what not. Vitamix? Yeah it's a great blender so he lets you know he uses it. Listen to the joe rogan podcast? Lots of advertising... Bet you still listen to that. Ignore the nay sayers, this book is excellent.
2013-07-17
7. Cannot Recommend. - What should have been an amazing, inspirational story of personal transformation is so sadly cheapened by jarring commercial plugs for the author's line of health products that the book was ruined for me. How disappointing to see someone work so hard to turn his life around, only to devote it to carney-like shilling of expensive, new age, miracle tonics. Save your money, and buy a book from an author who isn't so desperate to profit off of his -minutes of fame that he drags you down with his credibility.

8. a book that will get you up off that couch - For those of us who may remember being in decent shape once upon a time, but who have lost our way as we stumbled into middle age, this is a highly accessible, practical story about how one man got up off of his couch, faced his internal demons, and turned his life around. And while I may never personally run an ultra-marathon, what this book does do is help spark genuine self-reflection, and it may even inspire you to do something about it. As a year-old guy myself, who once saw himself as a quasi-athlete a long time ago, this book made me stop and think, to do an honest assessment of where my life is trending, and to really think about where I'd like it to go/end. And then it inspired me to get off of the couch. I bough the book months ago, and yesterday I ran miles for the first time in at least or years. And while I may not find "ultra", I have decided that I'm am not going to go out with a whimper. And I send my thanks to Rich for writing a book that is accessible, inspiring, and somewhat practical in terms of how to take action. Write another one, Rich. I'll be the first to buy it.

9. Non-Ultra Athlete - Helped provide insight into the extreme time, mental demands, physical stress, and nutritional mgmt of an ultra athlete. Found the nutrition section to be a good reference but a bit long. Favorite quote is, "Do what you love; love those you care about; give service to others; and know that you are on the right path."

What I read was a really amazingly put together Leadership and Character read. It puts down a lot of common themes you’ll find in every book of the genre but this book puts a unique spin on it. Well written, great transitions and full of a lot of self-awareness thoughts. Absolute must read!

1. Hilarious - This a great vacation read if you are wanting an entertaining, don't take yourself so seriously, book. He sways from vulgar to disgusting almost quicker than you can pick up on his sarcasm. I don't know that I want him on my team or even in my company, but his tone and storytelling are quite good.

2. Don't put me in coach - After reading this book and the reviews, I am wondering if I read the same book!!!
Typical kid of his generation, who wants everything NOW and will whine about it if he does not get it. He has a chance to still play basketball for the Generals but since it is not with the Globetrotters he QUITS.

3. A fun read - Titus has a disarming and entertaining writing style and his personality shows through in every tale. His stories, pranks and language are often juvenile but that should be no surprise to the reader. There aren't many books that I finish in a single day so this was definitely a fun read. And unlike most sports related books written with a "thinking man's" point of view, the author never, ever takes himself too seriously.
2012-05-28
4. Meh.. - On the one hand, I could not put the book down over the course of two days. The content was gripping, and having been separated from Columbus, OH for several years and not knowing who Mark Titus was or never having read his blog, I thoroughly enjoyed the stories that were shared about my favorite University's basketball team. However, the book was poorly written, and I wonder if Titus can "graduate" from the immature style of writing cheap blogs to being an author of a novel. This may never be a best seller, but IF Titus writes another book, I'll read it just so I have something to compare to this specific style of writing for which I cared very little.

My initial subscription was done via Hornady website on an older iPhone, however in I switched to iPhone pro max. My subscription was not shown in the subscription section of app store at all. It’s quite frustrating and infuriating not being able to just do a straight cancellation in app store. Com’on Hornady developers you’re able to place this awesome digital manual on the App Store but you somehow want to make your user jumping through all the hoops just to make cancellations. That’s not quite right, and leaves a bit of sour taste. Also seems a little greedy trying keep user subscription fully intact. Many of us are buying into digital subscription for the convenience. But now getting reloading components is becoming an increasingly monumental task by itself, a temporary stop all this subscription makes all the sense to the user in similar shoe until supply side catches up. 1. Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect - I wish I would have read this book earlier! I feel like portions of the book were written specifically with me in mind haha! I didn’t give it stars only because I did not enjoy reading so many descriptive details about golf courses; I did, however, thoroughly enjoy reading about his mental approach to playing them.

2. Terrific - Bob gives you permission to trust your swing. To never let swing analysis ruin your positive approach on the course. He defines the time and place to work on technique. He removes the constant clutter that fills your brain with negative thoughts about the mechanics of your golf swing. Really it's the analysts, magazines, manufacturers that keep telling you to "buy" in to what they are selling and they can make you better. Bob gets past that and teaches you how to have fun approaching the game in a common sense, focused way............. Oh, and if you do what he says, you'll have a lot more fun and score better.

1. Simple and down to earth - Very good writing—easy to understand. I suggest finishing the book before you start implementing the points you learn. It’s a lot to process, but it also makes a lot of sense. There is a convenient ‘Key points review’ at the end of each chapter where you can easily brush up on anything you may have forgotten. There are tons of references throughout the book, all neatly documented in the back. Overall, it’s a great book if you are looking to change your physical health and composition.

2. The Only Better Body book You’ll Ever Need - I’ve read hundreds of articles and spent thousands of hours in the gym. It wasn’t until this book that my mindset and body truly began to change. Michael Mathews has transformed the game and packaged everything you need to know for your fitness journey in one book. Trust me, do yourself a favor and read this book. It very well may change your life, as it did mine!

3. I always come back to this book - Michael uses plenty of studies and evidence to support his recommendations or reasons to avoid something. I often find myself coming back to the book for definitions, processes, instructions, and for advice. It feels so go to know exactly why I’m doing or consuming everything I do when it comes to exercising, eating, or taking supplements. I accomplished some of the goals that I set myself and I’ve been able to help others realize why they aren’t getting the results they want. I’m no certified nutrition expert or personal trainer, but I definitely feel, look, and sound like I am when I simply quote directly from this book. I grew up as a chubby guy and the only “advice” I had for the longest time was from family and friends that tried several weight loss programs that they didn’t even succeed from. I was so relieved to have all of those myths dispelled and no longer be ignorant. It was also nice when it came to those kinds of arguments (not that I sought them out) to have the same studies and references that are given here on my side that they did not. It meant that I knew a thing or two, I followed the science and the results were right there on my body.

4. Next - Read the first pages or so and this book is a runaround of catchy lines that doesn’t tell you any real info. Wasn’t even worth the cents I paid. Things like things the fitness industry doesn’t want you to know etc. It just keeps saying sales pitch esk talk that gets more and more aggravating the more you read. Don’t know how so many people thought this was a good read.

5. Bigger, leaner, stronger by Michael Matthews - Fantastic book! I spent years believing much of what he debunks in this book, and had the results (or lack there of) to prove it. I’m y/o, but in just the short time I’ve been on this plan, I’ve already experienced the convincing proof ( which promises throughout the book). Great book Mike! I have an ebook, but will purchase a hard copy to share (I’m keeping mine for future reference)!

6. Excellent book sharing training advice for both new and experienced lifters - In Bigger Leaner Stronger, Mike Matthews shares excellent advice for those who want to build a good physique and debunks many bodybuilding myths that have been part of many guys’ workouts partly due to misinformation, flawed advice at the gym, or even bogus marketing techniques. Additionally, I like the way Mike introduces and supports his workout programs, not only presenting evidence backing his claims but also arguments against it. I definitely like the transparency of his writing and the way he encourages both beginners and experienced lifters to achieve their workout goals.

7. Life saver - I have gotten this book a few days ago, and spent an entire weekend reading it. I knew someone of the stuff in the book and some of the info was totally new. It really is a different approach on dieting and working out and I cannot wait to start putting everything I’ve learned in use. Thank you Mike Matthews! I have already ordered all other books written by you and can not wait start reading them. After a few days I really am a huge fun of yours!!

8. Bigger, Leaner, Stronger - Finally! I’ve been searching for a source that answers all of my questions and has clear, concise research to back it up. Thank you M. Mathews. All of the bits and pieces of informaiton I’ve found out over the years of training & dieting finally added up. Everything clicked made sense while reading this book /.

9. The only health Book you need - this book was so good that after buying a paper copy of the book from Amazon, I bought the iBook and also an audible so I can maximize getting the info the review below is what I just wrote on Amazon.com. So I typically don’t write reviews but this book has compelled me to make a positive change all around. You get a LOT more value from this book than just the science of efficient & effective muscle growth. Through scientific research studies, this book will bust myths and debunk bro science like no tomorrow. It’s one of the most comprehensive books out there. This book has helped me understand the psychology behind healthy choices and how to best keep myself in check. The more I read the book, the more I couldn’t put it down so I ended up buying iBook & audible versions of the book to consume the information as quickly as I can. I was anxious and excited at the same time to put the information into action. Again, the psychology section helped me move past any roadblocks that I had previously put in front of myself. Though a stretch, I’d even go as far as labeling this book as a self help book. Your physiology has a lot to with your psychology and vice verse. This book helps you fix both. I sincerely hope that the author is able to reach a million people and help them. He’s done the leg work, all we gotta do is apply it.

10. This is the bible of Fitness and Nutrition - I have been studying fitness and nutrition intensly for two years. I must say that there is so much crap out there you will consistantly findout that you are wasting your time with so called gurus that are filling your head with more myths than Greek Mythology. BLS breaks down everything you would ever need to know about fitness and nutriotion and he backs up every claim with facts on a whopping pages of references listed at the end of the book and citations listed all the way through. No matter what level of lifter you are, you can learn many things from this book. I also love the books training app that you can find at getstackedapp.com. It costs a one time fee of $ after uses and I find it to be a completely reasonable cost for all the features and benefits it offers. I had been writing my lifts and gains down in my iphone notepad for months and it can be a pain to scroll through all that data sometimes to total up my gains.

11. His podcast convinced me to buy his book - I’ve been listening to Mike’s podcast, Muscle for Life for about a month and I knew right away I wanted to get my hands on his book. I finally made the purchase on Friday and had finished it by Monday. I look forward to starting the program this week. I’ve been doing many of these exercises before but I definitely think this book and his podcast were an eye opener for me in a lot of ways. Mike knows his stuff, he has a great outlook on life and his positivity and motivational ability will fire you up. It’s a simple program but it’s obviously proven!

12. Do it. - I’ve been working out on and off for the past years, however I’ve always had a hard time slimming down and constantly plateaued which led to me taking a break. I’ve been doing the bigger leaner stronger workout for about weeks and eating better. I’m pounds lighter and I can already see a difference in my tone and strength. Highly recommend!

13. Passionate guy - I've been listening to your podcasts and really enjoy how you explain everything in great detail but in a way that makes sense! I finished your book and I'm going to start the day split this week. My favorite podcast is where you went in detail about a full body workout and the best exercises to do. I would be interested in a detailed podcast about - day splits and if you've changed anything since this book. Thanks again for all your hard work. It's very obvious you care about your audience. Cheers!

14. FINALLY. THE WHOLE TRUTH. NO GLAM. JUST FACTS WITH HEART!! - Over the years ive read a ton of fitness books and this is the first one i totally understood. What makes this one different is this author speaks from the heart. Just one guy chatting with the other. I Really believe he genuinely cares. This book answered EVERY question i had and then some!! I cannot recommend this book HIGHLY ENOUGH. Its in the process of changing my life and itl change yours to and not just physically. This book also taught me some important life lessons

15. If you’re done playing games... - This book not only gives you a no nonsense approach to building muscle but it also gives you tons and tons of research that back up the claims made in this book. I highly recommend it to anyone that’s serious about building muscle and refuses to bounce from one well marketed workout scam to the next just to make no major gains. You won’t regret this investment of your time or money!

16. Confused about where to start? Start right here! - I've been a health nut for years, and have had successes and failures in my question for optimal health. I've been stuck a certain weight for years with a boy fat level of %. In the past I have tried low carb dieting, two a day workout sessions, restrictive carbs, high protein/high fad meal plans: you name it, I've tried it and all it's done is left me confused and frustrated. After two years of low carb diet that I found hard to stick to, I googled "flexible eating" and eventually it lead me to BLS. In the past I admit that I purchased Mike's book on supplements, and had even purchased Legion products via Amazon, but never really looked further. The book has everything you need to get you started on a training and eating plan to the body that you want. Many of Mike's concept I have read on my own, so it provided validity to the use of carbs while training. Heavy training has been effective for me over the last year, so BLS helped me see exactly what I was doing wrong (mostly overeating) and provides plenty of info to help you build a program that works for you. The only improvement I would make is to maybe provide a sample day meal plan for people who really like to have structured plans but can't really afford a custom meal plan. That way it shows how foods can pair together while still hitting your macros and enjoying what you eat. But honestly that's just a luxury-you don't need it! I'll be chronicling my Year One Challenge, also by Mike, so I hope this helps. I also add he is super friendly and accessible via email despite his busy schedule!

17. Love this book! - I've always been into fitness but did mostly cardio and body weight workouts. I've been following Mike for a while now and got hooked on his podcasts/web site articles, and supplements. It was now time to read the book!
Wow, what a fantastic book, full of information and science to back everything up.
I'm now following the workout program in the book, and love it. It's only been a couple weeks, but I can feel it working!
This book is a must read if you're in to fitness and are looking to get bigger, leaner, stronger!!

18. This book made me motivated and strong - A person suffering from a tragedy , doing hard work to gain muscle but some where something going wrong all the time , this book is a bible for every one who trying to get strong , fit and big , after reading all Michael"s books I am my own trainer , couch , chef and I shape me.
Thank you Michael you rock.

19. A good teacher with sound judgment - Mike Matthews is a good teacher with sound judgment. I think that's what it boils down to. He's taken all the information that you can find out there on the Internet and with a pragmatic and scientific approach, sifted through all of it to determine what is fact and what is myth, what is reliable and solidly supported by scientific research and what is bogus. He then explains it in a way that's easy to understand, building from the most fundamental facts to application and technique. I've come to trust his judgment and frequently refer to his book and website whenever I have questions about supplementation, nutrition, and proper form and technique. This book was an eye-opener, highly recommended.

20. VERY valuable, whether you’re advanced or a novice - This is an awesome, easy read, especially for the person interested in a no-BS approach to food, fitness, and supplements. Being an analytical person, I especially appreciated all the proof included through studies observed around the world. I've had four personal trainers, worked out in a Cross-Fit gym for / years, and I'm also an ex-collegiate athlete - but still found this book extremely valuable; probably the best I've ever read (with Four Hour Body being a close second). You won't be sold a pill here and even as someone who feels relatively savvy when it comes to the topic, I learned a LOT and I'm excited to put it to work! Definitely worth the read (I listened to the audiobook and bought the kindle version as well).

21. Amazing !!! - Just started my first week, and I'm so sore, energized, and best part I'm not even hungry. The one thing that makes this whole thing worth it is the customer service the company offers. I never though I would get email support from a company because I bought a book. If you want to change your body just buy the book!!!

22. Amazing - I'm so glad I found this book. I've been losing weight for about months but have plateaud in weight loss and haven't been progressing at the gym. After reading this book I've already been doing better at the gym and broken my plateau. It's a great read. Very informative and helpful. THANK YOU!

23. Intelligent book for fitness and nutrition - Firstly, many thanks to Michael for writing this book and for putting forth the due diligence in research to back the content. Also, thank you for the big discount provided to your email subscribers; this certainly encouraged me to purchase at a fraction of the cost. In summary, this book provides not only the basics to nutrition and fitness, but delves deeper into studies and efficacy of his recommendations for an amazing physique. Although I don't entirely agree with all recommendations, such as the copious amount of protein supplements, or multivitamins, I do, however; say his advice is sound and follows a no-nonsense approach to health and fitness.

24. Read This Now! - I just finished reading BLS and I have never been so inspired to go out there and transform myself just by reading this book. Everything from Mike's style of writing, to his experience and research referenced made me want to read this non-stop. When I would get to a new chapter, such as the mind game, it really made me re-think of why I hadn't transformed my body yet. I really wasn't expecting that but it just goes to show how well thought out and thorough this book is. I feel like an advantage I have as a newbie is that the "bro-science" has already been de-bunked for me just by reading this book. All I need to do is follow through and trust in his experience and research. I was nervous Having not been to a gym before but having the game plan set out for me was very very helpful. I will update as I go along my journey!!!

25. Bigger, Leaner, Stronger - Highly recommended for anyone interested in fitness at any age, any level of experience. Excellent information presented with scientific support but easy to read. Inspiring, with alternative programs for all levels of interest, plenty of instruction, and the advice really does work--my results have been amazing after years of working out hard without much real progress. Now I am working out hard in less time and simply smarter. No matter your age or experience in the gym, this is a go-to resource, bears returning to again and again.

26. A lot Great Information - A really good book! Especially since everything is backed up with research and studies Mike has found and personal experience! Mike helps you first understand the basics then slowly leads you into how everything works together. I've been lifting for a while, but never saw too much of a difference and once I read this book it really helped open my eyes to what I was doing wrong and what most "trainers" won't tell you. With the information inside this book, hard work and time, you can reach your goals! Mike also has some good articles on his Muscle For Life and Legion website!

27. Simple and affective: wish I would have found this book years ago - I grew up a total fat kid. Not like obese but fat to the point where I constantly struggled with my image. Picked on a lot by my friends. In college I got into working out. I lost lbs in months and that's when it really started to captivate me. Now that most of the fat is gone it was time to gain muscle and strength.
However in the years I have been trying to do that I've given up and restarted multiple times.
When finally at my buddy told me to check out this book.
I couldn't put it down. I immediately started changing my workouts and this book helped me understand exactly how to do every aspect of gaining muscle and strength.
He covers diet perfectly and then the best part, the workouts.
I'm in my th week of my workout and more motivated than ever.
Dead lifts have gone from rep max of at the start of the program and just for weeks in I finished my final set at . Every single part of my body has gotten stronger in the past four weeks than my entire last months of training.
I'm not where I plan to be but Now I confidently feel I know how to get there.

28. Simple and efficient - Stop buying crappy EBook programs with fancy names and buy this book. Or don't. You can go to Michal's website, there's plenty of information to start with for free. I've tried several different "EBook" programs with fancy names and crazy routine and diet. After few months of poor or no results, I quit. This repeated every months. It's been a month since I started cutting by this book and here are my results: lost pounds of fat, gained pound of muscle. Body fat went from .% to .%. I love the workouts and diet. Heavy compound weight lifting is way easier than my previous workouts and much more effective. High-protein high-carb diet provides enough energy for the workouts and it's flexible (you can fit small dinner desert even when cutting). This book works better than anything else I've ever read.
2016-09-12
29. Finally... - This book has finally helped me to find those missing pieces to my diet and excercise routine. Mike just doesn't tell you to do something in his book; he explains why you should do it a particular way and everything is backed up by pages of studies in the back of the book (if you're really bored and want to read them).
2016-09-09
30. Fitness Newbie - I've been following the dietary and gym guidelines outlined in the book for the past three and a half weeks now and I'm so excited to be seeing and feeling the results of my efforts so far. It was recommended to me by a good friend who has had amazing results over the past year and it inspired me to do the same. I have always hated going to the gym but made a promise to myself that at I would really give it an honest try and this has been a perfect way for me to do so. It's extremely well researched, well written, clearly outlined and encouraging.

31. Excellent resource! - Given all the positive reviews, I had to give this book a read. I'm so glad I did. It cut through all the misinformation out there regarding nutrition and fitness routines, while providing excellent knowledge transfer with science backed studies. Also there is WAY too much information to sift through on the internet to come up with your own understanding of nutrition and an optimal workout. This books saved me a lot of time and confusion by being highly informative, yet clear and concise.

1. Best golf book I’ve read - I’ve read all of the classics, Five Lessons, On Learning Golf, etc. And they are all great books that I found helpful in one way or another. But none have been as impactful on my swing and my enjoyment of the game as The Keys. There is nothing new here. If you’ve read the others the information is basically the same. But the way the author presents it, the order in which it’s presented and the emphasis he places on just a few keys boils all of the noise down and will have you hitting crisp iron shots in short order. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I have purchased hard copies for my wife and son.

1. Must read for the sports romantic and scientist alike - Epstein explores complex genetic questions that reach far beyond sports in a way that is both understandable and entertaining. He somehow figures out a way to make scientific reading for the layperson feel comfortable. Through most of the book, the reader feels almost as if Epstein is sitting in the same room answering questions as he astutely anticipates your confusion and breaks it down with clarity and confidence. Maybe most importantly though, he finally takes on the , hour expertise theory popularized by Malcolm Gladwell with solid evidence and conviction. But away from the science, it's just a must read for sports fans. The questions I have had my whole life playing sports are explored in a way that is engaging and witty. His stories conjure up vivid images for the reader while tracing a pretty consistent narrative in a book that could easily otherwise be all over the place. If you follow Epstein's columns in Sports Illustrated, you won't be able to put this one down.

1. Great book but I can’t see the diagrams - I had the opportunity to hear Coach Dearmon at the Atlanta Glazier Clinic and he was awesome. When I open the diagrams embedded in the book the window is too small to read the print. When I zoom in the text is too blurry to read. All the concepts and explanations are amazing, but the book would be great if it weren’t for the issues with the text in the play diagrams. Yes, I am running the most recent version of iOS. Hoping the issue gets fixed so I can rate this with the stars it deserves.

2. Evolution of the RPO - This book is organized in a in a functional format, with supplemental videos to explain the concepts further. Coach is clearly an expert within this system and details all you need to know. The best part for me is that I can take things from here and work them into my own Gun Triple Option system. Great addition to my coaching library!

4. Changed our program - I am a southwest Missouri high school football coach and the information and concepts that I gained from reading this book has changed our program. We are a small school with good athletes but small numbers. The philosophy and concepts from this book were easy to teach to my coaches and kids. In the first year of running a true RPO system, we are breaking school records each week for passing and rushing yards. In week of our season we set a record for points in half with , which is second all time in Missouri high school football. I have been telling all the other coaches that I can, they need to get this book, even if you are a defensive guy, you had better know what offensive coaches are trying to accomplish. I truly believe that this is the future of offensive football

From breaking down the defense to video cut-ups of his ATU Wonder Boys, Coach Dearmon explains clearly how to implement multiple RPO concepts into your offense. There’s no coincidence why ATU’s offense soared when Coach Dearmon took the offensive reins - this stuff works!

8. Pull back the curtain - Finished the book today. Was impressed with your detail and willingness to be open about your process and the why. I felt like I got to know a great OC and be an insider on the process.
Really enjoyed the entire read and found value from break down of coverage, detailed run scheme, reads, route design, and philosophy. I come away with a desire to be a better OC and with some ideas on how to do that.
Thanks for taking a risk and putting yourself out there. I admire you and root for your continued growth and success. God speed -Coach Robinson

9. The Evolution of the RPO - The Evolution of the RPO was an easy read. Very detailed and broke it down for even the beginning coach. One of the best parts is how he explains why to run a specific RPO and then shows you how with video. Also putting in how to practice it is a huge help in trying to move a high school offense to this style of play.
2017-07-22
10. Great resource for any offense! - Coach Dearmon and Coach Haas did an excellent job in explaining the process that they used in implementing RPO’s into an already powerful offense that Coach Dearmon learned from Coach Malzahn. This is a valuable resource for any offensive coach looking to include RPO’s in an offensive attack. Keith Grabowski

1. Great Intro - Nice common sense/logical introduction to long range precision shooting. Glad I read it before selecting my first scope. Provided a nice overview of pretty much every aspect without going to in-depth. Only recommendation might be to have a summary table (aggregating all the different sections of the book) ranking factors to consider in a prioritized fashion based on length of shot. Nice reference guide though!

2. Amazing Book; Recommend to All New Shooters - Picked this book up hoping it would give me the run down of precision long range shooting. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. Everything was explained in full detail and I am completely satisfied with where my money went. I highly recommend this book to anyone curious about long range shooting and anyone looking to get into it.

1. An Absolute Game Changer - I love golf. I really love it. There is so much folklore surrounding our game. Everyone has an opinion about the game. Everyone has their theories and opinions about what they need to work on, or what the most important part of the game is. Dr. Broadie doesn’t have opinions. Dr. Broadie doesn’t have vague notions based on anecdotal moments. Dr. Broadie has data, facts, and objective math. This book has changed the way I see the game of golf. There are no subjective statements made in this book. Well, I don’t know…maybe there a few. But, understand that Dr. Broadie has created a method of analyzing the game which is immune to subjective manipulation of the facts. I would highly recommend this book to any golfer who wishes to learn how to improve their game. Remember that scene in The Matrix when Neo can see the code? Well, when I play golf now, I can see the numbers before me, expressed in strokes being gained or lost.

2. Gets it right - The revolution in sports analysis began with Bill James in baseball and is solidly and expertly accomplished here for the sport of golf. While refinements will/did come along, this approach to understanding golf is timeless. For the first time we are able to really understand what is actually going on in the game and we have a framework for analyzing what a golfer can actually do to improve.

3. Total debunking of old school thinking - Statistics are hardly an exciting topic to read. However this is applied statistics and unveil some astonishing new concepts regarding shooting lower scores. Unfortunately dim witted and or stubborn people like Gary Player will continue to push the ‘Drive for show putt for dough’ philosophy which you will discover is % rubbish.

4. Worth the read. - Sorry, I've got to counter the critical review below. I read a ton of golf books, so far this year. I thought this was a great read. This book uses science to contradict many long held theories of golf. Will it make you a better golfer? I dunno, but it has changed my practice habits, and strategy on the course. My scores are lower for starting the season than they've ever been. I give this book some of the credit.

1. Not a true e-book format - Disappointed in this book! Was excited to be able to read this on my iPad and highlight away with my Apple Pencil. No can do. Unable to change the font size, highlight or make notes. I feel it was a waste of money. I’ll end up having to read the hardcopy books. Most frustrating is that they don’t tell you that before you buy the book. Rather deceitful. I just assumed… and you know what they say about that.

2. ASA Sailing Made Easy Formatting is Horrible - I reviewed the electronic sample copy and agree with another reviewer; the format in iBooks is terrible and is not adapted for single page reading. I was looking forward to purchasing both hard copy and electronic versions, but I will be holding off on my purchases for now.

3. ASA Sailing made easy formatting horrible - This digital eddition contains all of the content as the physical eddition , but with one hudge issue! When you view it on an iPad or MBP you must view two pages at once. Viewing single pages isn’t supported and makes reading very difficult as you must zoom in to be able to read each paragraph. It’s too bad they did’t take the time to actually format this for the Apple ecosystem.

1. Lefty.... - What a beautiful book. I'm a lifelong Yankee fan and I recommend this to all Yankee fans, and also all baseball fans. The way this man treated strangers was the same way you treat friends. I think this book should be read by all players of today. A wonderful man. Thank you Miss Gomez for writing this book.

1. Surprised - Maybe it's all in my head, but this book/audiobook has worked for me in under a week. I'm about a handicap and noticed huge differences in focus with a few different techniques that are talked about throughout the book. I've played rounds since I've listened, and I just implemented little things each time and practiced them over and over. And a good compliment to this audio is 'Golf: The Art of The Mental Game'. It's pretty much the same book, but broken down into much smaller, easier to digest segments. But, I wouldn't buy that one without listening to this book fully, then use the other as a guide. I will come back to this full length a lot, though.

2. Best book on golf... - This is by far the best book on golf I have ever read. So much can be said about technique, the grip, the swing etc... All of that is certainly important but the mental side is just as important if not more so. We often forget that golf is but a game but sometimes it seems like its a matter of life or death. This book goes a long way to help bring the GAME into proper perspective. It is written well which helped me to understand that a lot of what was going wrong was in the way I approached the game. Many, many great ideas to help over come the problems I created for myself. I have to say that it has transcended the game and bubbled over into my day to day life as well; a twofer if you will. If you want to improve your game, this is a must read.

3. Great book! - This book did not turn me into a PGA professional, but I was able to use the principals in the book to learn to relax and enjoy the rounds I play. My scores have improved, but more importantly, I enjoy the game much more. I have really come close to eliminating the fear of "embarrassing" myself before taking a shot. I am able to look at each shot as it will be whatever it will be and accept the fact that I may need to scramble on the next shot. The funny part of that is because I am more relaxed, I really do not experience the catastrophic shots I used to. I still hit bad shots but I am able to learn from them. The book also helped me become more aware of when I tensing up and how to back away and relax before a shot. I am much better about thinking about where I want the shot to go, rather than where I don't want it to go. Lastly, I have applied some of the basic principals to my everyday life as well. This has made it easier to "scramble" when making decisions in my life. It is a good book and I recommend it as a good read.

1. Buried In The Sky - The book ended too soon. I was left wanting more as the two main characters Chhiring and Pasang were poised to climb again following their harrowing experience on K. I've read a few books on Everest and K and I must admit I enjoyed the Sherpa perspective, their sense of responsibility, ownership and expectation from a group of people seemingly so easily dismissed and overlooked as simply porters or guides. Chhiring's sense of obligation to his family and Pasang's deep remorse described the full range of life's emotion.
