1. Good content, but not an iBook, it’s a PDF - This is a great book content-wise. It contains excellent information that is helpful and easy to understand with review questions periodically to reinforce important points. If you know this book, you will pass the ASA test. It is not formatted as an iBook, however. Highlighting, note-taking, changing font size, and other features that make iBooks great for reference books and text books are not supported in this version. It would be a star rating if this book was formatted correctly.

2. Highlighting not Supported - Highlighting is not supported when reading this volume in iBooks. I verified that highlighting was working properly in my iBooks app by testing it on other books, where it works fine. It’s only on this book that highlighting doesn’t work, and it doesn’t work on my Mac or on my iPad.

You are able to zoom in on mobile devices but when viewing on laptop or desktop you are unable to zoom in to enlarge the text for reading.

2. Less capable PDF - It is hared to justify the price of this ebook compared to the printed version. You are unable to highlight, lookup/define, comment, notate any of the content like you would with a printed version. If this is to be used as curriculum for testing, the book needs to allow reader interaction. Only benefit is the ability to sync last page read on multiple devices.

1. Not a true e-book format - Disappointed in this book! Was excited to be able to read this on my iPad and highlight away with my Apple Pencil. No can do. Unable to change the font size, highlight or make notes. I feel it was a waste of money. I’ll end up having to read the hardcopy books. Most frustrating is that they don’t tell you that before you buy the book. Rather deceitful. I just assumed… and you know what they say about that.

2. ASA Sailing Made Easy Formatting is Horrible - I reviewed the electronic sample copy and agree with another reviewer; the format in iBooks is terrible and is not adapted for single page reading. I was looking forward to purchasing both hard copy and electronic versions, but I will be holding off on my purchases for now.

3. ASA Sailing made easy formatting horrible - This digital eddition contains all of the content as the physical eddition , but with one hudge issue! When you view it on an iPad or MBP you must view two pages at once. Viewing single pages isn’t supported and makes reading very difficult as you must zoom in to be able to read each paragraph. It’s too bad they did’t take the time to actually format this for the Apple ecosystem.

2. Move over kook I'm looking to return. - Ten ok maybe years ago I lived in Cardiff by the Sea, now I'm in Boulder and the itch is back. I have two small children I take to the Cape during the summer but light boogie boarding is all they can do, yet. It's end of sept and degrees time to think snowboarding but this book makes me want to jump in VW camper and hit the PCHighway to tour the surf breaks. Fun read, thanks.

1. Great content and info, but..... - The in depth detail about the behind the scenes life on the north shore was amazing. However if the information came in different format it would do more for the story. I didn't care for the style from the author. At times it seemed he made the book more about him. The entire vibe put off by chas was just not in my taste. His attitude and "flare" although popular in some settings, seems like a direction surfing is heading that I don't care for as much.

2. Super accurate, fast read - I just finished this book in a day and I couldn't put it down. Having spent a lot of time at the North Shore I really felt like I was there again while reading this book. Chas Smith has a unique writing style that expresses exactly what you are thinking as he describes things. Top notch.

3. Good read.... - Although not a huge fan of Chas' writing style I did really enjoy the book and the behind the scenes look at the infamous miles that any surfer thinks they know about.... When you're done with the book you will have a little more knowledge of how things work on the North Shore and realize that it really couldn't work any other way.

1. Bad - This is just not a good book. It is billed as a memoir of a single handed race and it was at the % point in the book when he finally crossed the starting line. Inexcusable. The rest? Endless trivia about learning to sail on a sailing dinghy and sailing on the ' boat he wound up using in the race, which he ridiculously refers to as a "yacht". None of the characters in the book were adequately described, including several women who came and went, pretty much at his beck and call. Maybe they were sisters or cousins since not a hint of physical contact or romance was ever mentioned. Fortunately his works of fiction are good. We should all hope he sticks to that.

1. Good read - As someone just beginning to be interested in diving, the Doria is a sort of fantasy. I'm not sure if I want to take the risks of diving that deep, but seeing how it lies in my backyard it has fascinated me. This book made me feel almost like I was there, if not creating a desire to see it. Out of curiosity, does anybody know why the Italia Line didn't raise her immediately after her sinking? Surely, if Princess, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, etc. Lost a ship today in such (relatively) shallow water they'd raise her. Richard Branson/Roman Abramovich, if you see this, I think a Doria replica would be quite profitable. Her plans can be found online.. Only takes a few hundred million!

I really don't know anything about sailing and this book was a great intro, especially when you consider all the helpful video demonstrations. Well researched and easy to understand material is presented in an easy to follow manner making it a great teacher for those just getting started with sailing or the more serious. Enjoy.

3. The Misunderstood God - I have found this book to be dangerous. If you want to live a comfortable, inconsistent Christian life and you don't want your world rocked, then don't read this book. IT COULD CHANGE THE WAY YOU BELIEVE ABOUT GOD. This author has nailed down the biggest problem in our relationship with a really loving God. It is a must read if you are just tired and want to give up on your whole walk with Christ. I highly recommend this book. I want to thank the author for having the courage to tell the truth in a world where Christianity has become a money making, mega church industry.

1. Catamarans - To the point and we’ll written. It’s a How To Guide as well as a reference for more experienced sailors or ones coming from monohulls. Beautifully photographed and illustrated as well. Best book on cruising catamarans. It’s not only about the Good, but also some of the multihulls’ drawbacks.
