1. The Bests r Still Here - The first time I heard passos' voice I though about earth. I don't mean THE earth, I mean that sort of dirt that's so rich and full of nutrients and minerals that you it's now called "earth", instead of dirt. Pairied with Carter's interestingly melodic and aggressive playing this record is probably my favorite of hers. It's the type of record that sounds as good, if not better, in your house as it would in a club. Buy this record!

2. Entre Amigos - Don't be put off by a few bossa nova chestnuts--this is a lyrical and wonderful album by "the female Joao Gilberto" and not-overrated jazz great Ron Carter, filled in with lovely guitar and clarinent. Carter's one weakness is that he sometimes dominates with an overrecorded. orotund bass tone. He keeps that in check here and functions as the best-possible accompaniest, taking only the occasional superb solo. You can put it on as soothing background music or listen as closely as you would like.

1. Canciones De Mi Padre (Remastered) - The remastering actually messed with the pure quality of Linda's voice! What the hell???
They narrowed her EQ so that now, yes, it is very centered, compressed and even more punctuated, but you do NOT need to put any punch into Ronstadt's voice. It's already one of the most focused and full voices ever in history. Why did they do this, who's stupid idea??? Shameful. The original mix and master was sweet, full, warm and PERFECT! You screwed up a masterpiece and I want my money back (so that I can buy the original master version). If you are an audiophile, are into delicious sound quality and do not want your ears poked with a needle, skip this purchase and track down the original.

1. THIS IS THE ONE! - This, this right here is arguably the most important Latin album of any Latin artist to date. Every single song showcases the best of Shakira’s voice, versatility and songwriting. This is what cemented her career and paved the way for so many of the Latin singers we have today. A masterpiece!

2. HER BEST ALBUM - By no means am I saying that everything after this album hasn’t been to standard, but THIS album is simply her best! I’m not usually the type of person that starts at Track and simply hears the whole album song by song, but I CAN WITH THIS ALBUM. EVERY song in this album is incredible. Totally recommend this album.

3. A true classic - This is truly where it all began for Shakira. "Pies Descalzos" was her breakthrough in Latin America, but "Donde Estan Los Ladrones" is what truly solidified her stardom. Classics she still performs today are found on this album, from catchy Mexican-trumpet-influenced "Ciega, Sordomuda", to angry rock song "Si Te Vas", and most of all, the Middle Eastern pop masterpiece, "Ojos Asi". Furthermore, with "Inevitable", "Octavo Dia", and more, this album is full of amazing tracks that even go beyond language barriers.

4. Her absolute best by far!! - I've always been a big fan of shakira and this is why. Like someone else already said, you have not heard Shakira until you've heard this album. Every single song is worth listening. When I was younger I ended up having two copies of this album. I ruined both CDs because I played them way too much!n that's how good it is.

5. Classic Shakira - In my opinion, this album it's the best one from Shakira. Every song is awesome and you won't ever get tired of listening to them. I know I didn't, when I first got this album. Wether you want to cry your eyes out or listen to angry lyrics about love, this album literally has a song for every feeling and phase of your life. Best album ever from Shakira, no other album can compare to this one...

Me encanta.

7. I may not speak spanish, but I still enjoy this album - Title says it all. I love the Spanish language, it's very beautiful, like the album. I like this album even more than some of her english releases. I translated the lyrics of the songs so now I actually know the meanings of them and I can say that the songwriting is brilliant. My favorite songs are Ciego, Sordomuda, Si Te Vas, No Creo, Inevitable, Que Vuelvas, Tu (my favorite song), Donde Estan los Ladrones, Ojas Asi.

1. No One Can Compare - Some people say that this music is trash, this music is for morons, and that these songs are for people with little to no brain cells, but no. Haven’t you seen all the good reviews over the bad ones. Way more good than bad. If you don’t like this, then whatever you like in the music world, is garbage! You must be deaf, stupid, or crazy to not like this music because look at all them good reviews. If their music was that bad. These people would have not gotten so famous and they would not have all the love people around the world give them. So if you don’t like this music. I am pretty sure you have a pretty sad and sorry life. Cutos to you Bad Bunny and all those amazing reggeaton singers out there.

2. absolute trash - words cannot describe the amount of disgust and disappointment i felt when listening to this album. the sound of these songs bouncing off my eardrums, can only be compared to satans fiery grasp around my skinny neck. i felt like satans ing caught on fire and was shoved into my ing of a . that’s how it felt to listen to the that is bad bunny

3. Great Music Overall - This album was very much needed in the toxic latin urban scene. The musical production was amazing, which was expected from Tainy and Sky, and the performances by Bad Bunny and J Balvin were equally great. What I love about this album, is that it feels really fun and careless, but gives you that polished feel as well and it gave me a taste of what made me fall in love with Bad Bunny’s music with “La Canción” and “Odio”.

1. Best Latin band ever - Mariachi may take some talent, but it’s ubiquity and lack of variation is highly unfortunate. Reggaeton is sexual garbage that takes no talent to write or perform unless you’re a drug addled Mexican superstar on the cartel’s payroll. This, however, is an entirely different and amazing experience altogether. It’s solid gypsy and flamenco music, with elements of pop thrown in subtly for maximum listenability. Disc is my infancy personified, and Disc I recently discovered. Both paint a great portrait of the one and only Gipsy Kings, no doubt the greatest and most talented Latin musicians of all time. Forget about any modern day Latin music, mariachi or reggaeton. Listen to some good music like this!

2. Volare! ole! - this is a very good cd and i like totally give it a thumbs up! i really like the song volare because of the beat they played it at the winter olympics when the althetes were coming into the stadium at the closing ceremony. pretty kool. : ) i also really like the song baila me, it has a tango flare that draws you to it.

1. Amazing - While all the females artists have shown versatility like Karol has, none of them are as nearly daring as Karol is… if you asked me last year what kind of collabs Karol would have on her Sophomore album, I never would have guessed she would have songs with Damian Marley, Danay Suarez, and Brazilian artists Simone and Simaria. I also love how Karol worked with Reggaeton legend Pato Banton to create her own version of the song “Go Pato” with “Go Karol,” and I love how she worked with the highly underrated Cuban Queen Danay Suarez to shine more light on Danay’s powerful song “Yo Aprendí.”

1. Some reviewers stated improve your singing. REALLY? Shakira is a “GLOBAL SUPERSTAR! - Go Shakira, Great performance at the Super Bowl! For those of you who don’t know, Shakira is a global superstar, even bigger than Jennifer Lopez “Globally.” Her voice transcends through the ages and countries. It’s not easy to be a crossover artist and make it BIG! Hats off to both for an amazing job in your careers. Such achievements! Bravo

. Ready for the Good Times - Disco beat, sounds EXACTLY like a dance song from the 's. Amazing chorus with catchy melodies. Verses are cool. I love it! - /.
. Fool - Best on the album! Amazing mid-tempo! Amazing lyrics and catchy tune. Verses are mellow and the chorus brings a bang of electric guitar riffs. - /.
. Poem to a Horse - Chorus is flawless!! One of the best, behind Fool. My favorite. Amazing beat and melody. - /.
. Que Me Quedes Tu - Can't speak spanish, so I'll judge it on the english version not included on the album. It's definately not the best on the album, but the chorus and beat is amazing! I love the lyrics! - /.
. Eyes Like Yours - Amazing latin melody! Chorus is flawless! Dark and melodic! Fantastic! - /. Everything about this album is amazing! I got copies since the album came out in '! One for my birthday, which was scratched and burnt out in less than a year! I was a little kid in love with this album, and still am in love with it. Your a music icon in both Spanish and English a true crossover artist of all time.

2. A Star is Reborn - Shakira’s eleventh studio album, launched in May , showed her in peak form—bearing in mind that with Grammys galore, career record sales over million and YouTube views topping billion, her “peak” has an altitude mere superstars can’t reach. But the El Dorado World Tour scheduled to begin last November was delayed seven months by a vocal cord hemorrhage, and as the Colombian singer-songwriter wondered if she would ever perform again, fans worldwide held their collective breath. Happily, the tour finally opened in June in Hamburg and will close in Bogotá in November. Shakira also had doubts two years ago, not over vocal issues but from writer’s block and the career-motherhood dilemma. Inspiration returned, she said, after a project with Carols Vives made her realize she could avoid album overload by working one song at a time. The collection that ultimately came together (nine tracks in Spanish, three in English, one French-English mix) is an exhilarating blend of styles—vallenato, reggaeton, bachata, Latin pop—and features collaborations with five male artists. “La Bicicleta,” the duet with Vives that jumpstarted El Dorado, is also a homecoming team-up in which the two banter while cycling across their native turf on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Sexual tension abounds in “Perro Fiel” (Faithful Dog), co-written and performed with Nicky Jam, an American artist now living in Colombia. Things come to a boil in “Déjà Vu,” an explosive brew of suspicion and seduction sung with the Dominican-American artist Prince Royce. “Me Enamoré” (I Fell in Love) is Shakira’s personal story of falling for her partner, footballer Gerard Piqué. Unlike the mythical city of gold that inspired it, Shakira’s El Dorado is real. And while its creator was uncharacteristically quiet, she spun her gold into platinum. — worldlisteningpost.com

3. Decent - This album has some good stuff. But she has too much reggaton. I loved Chantaje, Amarillo, Nada, and Toneladas. The rest just wasn’t true to herself and superficial. El Dorado only scratched the surface of a talented human being. I hope she digs more.
2017-11-05

5. Como has evolucionado... - Honestamente no tienen contenido estas letras. Rimas pobres.

6. Amazing - Shakira's new album is already my favorite. The collaborations are great. She made a fantastic comeback. It was definitely worth the wait. I do find it annoying how some of the other reviewers don't understand how singles and albums work. Singles are like sneak peeks to an upcoming album. So you should expect them to be on the album. This is how many artists release an album. So in the end Shakira is not lazy you are just very stupid. Who cares if her music is different change can be good and this is a great example of that.

En general no me gusta o canciones that's it

1. Her Best Album! - I remember listening to this when it first came out in the ’s (I was living in Panama in the U.S. military). Absolutely raw and fantastic album when she was still relatively unknown. Shakira’s next album Donde Estan Los Ladrones was equally as good as this album. So many good memories flood back listening to this awesome music. If you like Shakira this is an absolute must have album!

2. BEST of Shaki.... - I LOVE this Shakira! i remember being in th grade and my sister playing Shakira everywhere we went (on cassette of course). we didn't owned the cd until way later. by far the best album along with donde estan los ladrones which Shakira herself has said in interview is her favorite album.

3. Yes - I can't honestly decide whether Pies Descalsos or Donde Estan Los Ladrones? is the better album. :) I first heard Shakira at a young age, with her lovely Spanish songs that are poetic, intelligent, and simply beautiful. Her songs in English are good, but I prefer her old stuff. It's just so much more meaningful. The songs on this album are powerful. I recommend the /whole/ album. :D

4. Just my favorite music ever! - I used to listen to this when i was little and i still do but she has a crisp, amazing, and soothing voice that makes her music sound wonderful! I also know how to speak spanish so i start singing along with her (BTW love un poco de amor) my favorite song. but everyone is obsessed with the "new Shakira" i mean like these songs are really good and they are not on the top of shakira and she wolf cd is the top shakira cd WHY??????

6. Love Shakira's old style - In Pies Descalzos, Shakira's music exhibited a unique style, blending Latin folk music with Rock en Espanol and Latin Pop. All of these different elements came together to create diverse, catchy songs with poetic lyrics if you know Spanish. Her old songs are not quite as danceable or head-sticking as her more recent work, but Shakira's first (notable) album makes for a very satisfying musical experience that should be part of everyone's collection. Best songs: Pies Descalzos, Suenos Blancos, Estoy Aqui, Se Quiere, Se Mata, Donde Estas Corazon, Te Necesito, and Un Poco de Amor.

7. Greatest Album - Imagine....a pre-teen little kid...sitting in his cousins room...rifiling through cds...and out of all the cds...he finds this one. He puts it in the big boom box and starts falling in love with this teenage girl that is singing so amazingly and singing her own songs.......greatest album ever...buy it!!! Its got me hooked...still a HUGE shakira fan till this day...that album was something special!

8. shaki's first hits - these are the songs that helped shakira get to where she is today. if you don't buy the whole thing make sure you at least check out estoy aqui, pies descalzos suenos blancos, and antologia. these were her very first internationally successful songs and are well worth $..

9. amazing memories! - Estoy Aqui is a fabulous song! Definately the best song on a super album. I was living in Mexico studing spanish when this song hit. It was EVERYWHERE. We even translated it in class. I highly recommend this song and album. I also love hips don't lie... you can't blame a girl for wanting to make it in America. Her voice is supurb in any language!

1. Great variety - This album shows the broad range of reggaeton, all of it loads of fun. Dale Don Dale is classic, Arabeton has an Arab influence, Menealo shows that Jimmy Bad Boy is a very bad boy, and La Cachorrita has a creative counter chorus. There is a range of interpretation of reggaeton I didn't know existed, and going from track to track is like moving through an exciting landscape. Lots of opportunity for fun dancing!
2010-10-02
2. Reggaeton, Various Artists, - I wanted some reggaeton to add to my exercise playlist and this is perfect-- songs and only aren't suitable. And such a value! The first album I sampled was a Reggaeton work-out mix and cost $, still $ a song as opposed to this album which works out to cents a song. Go iTunes!
2010-01-13
3. Even For Free Is Sometimes Too Expensive - This is a descent album with some talented Artists. I like Hector and Tito, Jimmy Bad Boy, and Aventura and Reggaeton Veteran Vico C. However, if you are looking for a great intro into The Reggaeton world, take a listen to "The Beginning" featuring NICKY JAM, HECTOR Y TITO, REY PIRIN, ALBERTO STYLEE PLUS MORE. If you are into classic Reggaeton, then take a listen to the albums Ragga War, or Ragga Force, and there is of course Don Omar, and Daddy Yankee, who are never disappointing. It is about Flava. Don't buy an album because of the price, buy the songs you like.

1. Smash Hit and Richly Deserving - This is the classic album that took Santo Domingo's bachata style around the globe. An amazing string of eminently danceable numbers in Spanish lyrics that are themselves hallmarks of a master of el merengue in all its variants (check his other great albums, too). Beny Moré's crown as singer/songwriter went directly to El Doninicano Alto Juan Luis. My MOST recommended Spanish Caribbean dance album in two generations. JLG studied at Berklee College in Boston and his arranging benefits from jazz chords and the tightest percussion section ever, still touring.

2. Poet Lauerate of Santo Domingo - Without a doubt I think Juan Luis Guerra has been the best of everything that has come from Santo Domingo. His music is poetry in motion and many times with a political statement regardimg the issues that the Republic of SD still faces today.
His words, rhythm and the coolness complement him as no other. In this time of reggaton, his presence is reassurance that there is stil a deep appreciation of excellent music in our language.
Juan Luis Guerra is a treasure of what is good in this world today. Nancy Alvarez, Ph.D.

3. Childhood memories - The song that has stuck with me throughout the years is "Burbujas de Amor". I remember being in second grade hearing this song on the radio for the first time when my dad picked me up from school one afternoon. I remember asking my dad who the artist and telling him that it was a pretty song. I didn't even understand the meaning of the words at that age. This is my favorite song off of the album and to this day, my favorite song of all time.

4. "Bachata Rosa" - I'm a huge fan of Juan Luis Guerra y El Grupo , and have been since I first discovered them when I was a teenager (), now years later I still can't ever get enough of this man's songs and especially of this album which is my total favorite... Juan Luis Guerra knows latin music. As Celia Cruz was the Queen of Latin music, Juan Luis to me is the King.. Que viva la musica latina, now & always for generations to come! Born & raised in Florida with a cuban background I will always follow my spanish blood line and will pass it on to my children and hope they do the same with theirs. :) .. Jan.

5. Bachata: the Music that Changed a Country and the World - Juan Luis Guerra's music is as rich and diverse as the people of the Dominican Republic. The Bachata Rosa album is comprised of merengue, salsa and bachata. Bachata, originates from Santiago and it was considered the music of the "poor." However, Juan Luis who is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music elevated bachata to its highest level - changing the country and the world. The lyrics are as romantic as a Pablo Neruda poem. In addition, you will enjoy smooth melodies and vibrant rhythms. As a result, people of all class levels - poor and rich - in the Dominican Republic accepted bachata as their music with a great sense of pride and honor. And eventually, Juan Luis Guerra became the Dominican musical ambassador to the world.

2. "Supe Que Me Amabas" - I'm Christian and I love her songs. Especially "Supe Que Me Amabas". Any Christian can totally relate to it. It's about those people who run away from God and who are lost but deep inside they knew that God loved them. So when they came back to God, He forgave them. Such beautiful album :')

3. Expressive outstanding voice - The cadence of these songs is so contagious because of the attractive texture of Marcela's voice. Unfortunately the instrumentation in some songs is too full that does not let you appreciate and enjoy her voice. The worshipful spirit of the songs is what makes this purchase inevitable!

1. Catchy - Selena just doesn’t have a good voice lol. I did see some comments on here saying Selena isn’t a real Latina tho? I’m Indian, but I was born and raised here, and have an American accent. That doesn’t change the fact that my whole family is from India; and we celebrate the same holidays and worship the same gods we have for generations. What I’m saying is Selena IS still Latina.

2. U-U this is pure..... - alright I listened to it and I am hooked with it. I love it ! and read what the haters said and um there wrong kinda to be honest she was born in Texas and there are some latino people here I live in Texas so I know Ù^Ú there are a lot of Spanish speaking people ( I am saying Spanish speaking people to not be rude to any culture ) here and plus dumb haters, Selena’s whole name is Spanish so I don’t know what y’all idiot haters talking about. Keep Up The Good Work Selena And Keep Following Your Heart Qween!!!

3. Ok so.... - It’s great I just wish De Una Vez was longer. Also I’ve read all the reviews and some people are saying that sHeS cOpYiNg SeLeNa QuInTaNiLlA even though she’s not why would she do that? Selena Gomez and Selena Quintanilla are both awesome in their own ways. Also stop saying that she’s using this for clout she’s not but great album! I can’t wait for more! Edit: SELFISH LOVE IS THE BEST! Another edit: ADIOS IS ALSO THE BEST!

1. A true musical gem - Just when I thought Natalia Lafourcade couldn't top the Grammy-winning album Hasta La Raíz, she surprises us with this masterpiece. Hands down the most talented artist Mexico has to offer. Do yourself a favor and purchase this album; listen with headphones on for the full experience.

BRAVA, y gracias, Natalia

1. Great Songs, Poor Execution - Those unfamiliar with how a classical guitars sound, don’t be fooled. This is some of the most out-of-tune and nasty sounding classical guitar I’ve ever heard on a professional recording. In reality, the tone of a classical guitar is rich, round, and vibrant. I can’t be too hard on this compilation, however, because many of the songs are classics.

2. Superb, No longer music but an artform. - I'm a huge fan of electric guitar and guitarists that thrive in the category of rock and neo-classical metal instrumentals (Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Michael Angilo Batio, Etc) but classical acoustic is such a beautiful sound and this album is literally full of it. For anyone who likes guitar, or good music for that matter, I strongly suggest you consider this masterpiece!

1. The Mexican OG hits! - This man is a hero. The Mexican Tupac will be celebrated for years to come. After receiving a letter on stage telling him to stop performing or he would be killed, he crumpled it up dropped it and kept singing. Sadly he was murdered that night fulfilling the threat. He’s a hero to the people and wasn’t afraid of anyone. Even the cartels that had him killed. I’m not going to even get into the shoot out at a Coachella bar. RIP Chalino ! And your son too.

1. Wow! What a compilation!

1. Unique Talent Stripped of Her Uniqueness - It's not bad. But her own original sound was so much better. How many times will we see independent artists emerge with their own fresh idiosyncratic (in the best sense of the word) sound, showing promise as artists. Then they get paired with some producer-du-jour to try to reach a broader, mainstream, "crossover" audience, with the result that they end up sounding indistinguishable from every other mainstream pop group. Carla Morrison is a unique talent. Allow her to stay unique.

1. Worthy addition to your music library - Thank you Los Hacheros for such a well crafted and beautifully performed album. Your song choices are brilliant, there isn't a song on the album that I didn't like. Very authentic music, love the danzon, son montuno, guaguanco, timba... Everything is so so good.

1. Gorgeous Album - This has become one of my favorite albums. Others include Kind of Blue, Apocalypse, Bill Evans with Symphony, etc. so that gives you some idea how I feel about Eliane Elias’ accomplishment here. This is a high point for Bossa Nova. Her voice is beyond sultry but honest and sincere, not overly stylized, just perfect. The orchestrations on this album of beautiful and well-chosen songs are just beautiful. Hey, what can I say. I’m a jazz pianist and I think this is one of the great albums.

2. MR. - Elian Elias is just about the greatest pianist I have ever heard. With all due respect to Diana Krall and all the other great piano players whom I admire so much, to me they now seem to pale in comparison. Her chords are so beautiful, her playing technique and arrangements so overwhelming. The beauty and melancholy of her music, her natural.. and I might say ..sultry vocals touches one's soul. "Bossa Nova Stories" and all her other albums is a must for all music lovers.
