1. Accessible, wise, useful! - I’ve been teaching a financial workshop and one of my students asked for a companion book. This lines up nicely with my own syllabus, with its strong emphasis on the time value of money. Sabatier has done an excellent job of presenting sound financial principles without falling into the trap of recommending debt avoidance and shaming people for, say, buying a cup of coffee. Highly recommended!

2. Not what I expected - Unfortunately, when I started reading this book I thought it would give me some tools to invest, and duplicate my money. The book merely focus on savings and retirement. Also, pages is way to long for what I am getting. I stated loosing interest when I was on page . There is a section from the author that will ask you for feedback or input about ways I apply for saving money. Right after I sent an e-mail, I have been getting lots of e-mails from random websites. I don’t know how that happened. The book merely shows you what your future will be years if you start saving in your k. Too many tables and formulas. I really lost interest ...

3. Everything you need to know about Financial Freedom - Love, love, loved this book. This is one of the few Financial books I have read this year and by far my favorite. It explains so much. I didn’t think I could learn anything new with so many books out, but this books talks about so much more and explains in details so that you can better understand the topics. Would definitely read again and recommend to everyone.

4. Life changing!! - I first found out about the book through the Financial Independence podcast. This book has been exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s only been a couple weeks since buying it, but I’ve been learning so much. I consider it a MUST READ for anyone who wants to take control of their life.

5. Well done Grant - Financial Freedom is a must read for millennials and anyone who is getting a grasp on reframing how they think of money. The numbers make sense and an actionable plan is provided in a well presented framework by Grant. His story is not miraculous, but his insight and perspective on money and life is eye opening and powerful.

1. Insightful read - I had never really thought about the asset and liability classes. Raised by a single mother who was a hard worker but missed out on several amazing deals in her life like a $k house that is now worth $ million. I was brought up in that world but my wife and I are trying to break free of being salary-only. Next step is to look into our cash flow and get it flowing into companies that can utilize the full value pretax.

2. Valuable lessons yet repetitive - Title says it all. There’s plenty about this book that’s worth the read. It makes you think critically about your relationship with money, and it’s a must read for any amateur entrepreneur. However, the book reaches a point where the author repeats himself without offering any further insight or conclusions. Toward the end it felt like he was looking to meet a word count.
2022-11-24
3. Essential for a successful financial future. - This book changed the lives of both me and my father. The language is kept simple, for those worried about the confusing nature of financial literacy. I could not be more grateful for the lessons that I’ve learned in this book and, as a -year old black male, I cannot wait to apply all of these steps in my life. Looking forward to reading more of Kiyosaki’s work.

4. Mindset focused - I read this book to learn how to create passive income and create wealth. The author spent most of the time stressing the importance of “money making money” or “making money work for you”, but teaching you very little on how to do so, besides stating a few examples on how he was able to find real estate properties, but again, teaching you nothing about how to invest in real estate. I learned only a few key important lessons, but not much. The book doesn’t teach any strategies or formulas or anything that’s actionable. It’s mostly focused on mindset, which if I didn’t have, I wasn’t going to find this book in the first place. Towards the end it tells you to develop your financial intelligence by ways such as reading books, I find that to be a little ironic.

1. Stories, and negotiations were gripping and memorable. - It’s a must read for all, negotiators, which is basically everyone because life is riddled with negotiations. From calibrated questions, to the black swan, this book gave me practical and applicable advice to adhere. Thank you for writing this.
2023-02-12
2. Some insight but full of Smug - His experience commands insight and attention. However, his writing style gives off a tone of smugness. If you ever seen him on video recording you’ll confirm what I mean. Additionally, it’s clear he advocates for the status quo. (Hardly innovative for negotiating.) You also can’t help but think his success stems from the awesome power of an FBI badge and history.
2022-12-05
3. Excellent Purchase - Easy read, with tons of applicable information. The concepts in this book should be reviewed before any negotiation, it can make a difference. I used the “how” question when someone asked for a raise and it worked like a charm. I made a odd offer on a recent purchase and the seller didn’t counter resulting in $ saved.

4. Changed how I view conflict. - I found the teachings of this book extremely valuable after it was recommended by a mentor. It was the first e-book I purcheased and I studied it with a notebook because Chris Voss gives examples and evidence to his arguments about negotiation that its hard not to be convinced. I am excited to reflect his teachings to real life.

5. AWESOME - I have negotiated my entire Sales career. The techniques that Chris Voss has put together are pure gold!! I’ve read many books on Leadership, Accounatbility and Negotiation. This book is right at the top of the list! I’ve also taken Chris Voss’s “Master Class” on MasterClass.com. Next I am going to attend one of his “Black Swan” classes in the near future…AWESOME stuff!!
2020-04-12
6. Totally changed the way I talk to people now. - The techniques in the this book helped me do the impossible. I was actually able to get an elderly person to stop using Internet Explorer! You might think I’m joking but it’s no laughing matter to those in tech support. After this review I plan on re reading it again because I’m sure I will learn even more stuff I missed out on the first time around.

7. As entertaining as it is insightful - Absolutely loved this book. I had a pretty lucrative deal in the works that had gone cold, as my counterpart was suddenly unresponsive for about weeks after receiving my proposal. I decided I’d try some “Email Magic” before giving up for good. Wouldn’t you know it, she replied within hours and we are signing the deal next week. This book paid for itself (and then some) in a simple -worded email. Not to mention all of the other methods and strategies I will be able to implement in other negotiations yet to come. It is packed full of information, wisdom, strategy, and entertaining stories from a career in crisis negotiation. The real-life stories Chris Voss shares from his FBI negotiation experience are the most interesting part. It’s incredible how the strategies you’d use to get a hostage-taking bank robber to give themselves up are built upon the same foundation and rules of engagement you’d follow in any situation where your ultimate goal is to get your counterpart to do what you need them to in order to win. I’ve recommended this book to several coworkers and recommend to anyone interested in broadening your knowledge of the dynamics of negotiation, communication, and human psychology.

8. Excellent Material - This book has excellent information in it! I read it quickly and couldn't put it down. If you are interested in developing your people skills, soft skills, listening skills, and of course negotiating skills, this book is for you! I bough this book to improve my skills in communication and business, and am very excited to implement these techniques.. there is no doubt it will help.
2017-01-01
9. Fantastic read - The insight to the human psyche that Chris delivers is worth so much more than $ it's almost laughable. Drawing examples from real hostage negotiations, Chris explains the "why" behind the method and then reinforces with more real life examples from former students. I think what is most helpful to me are the examples from former students. Through those examples you get a handle on when and how each technique is applicable. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

1. Repetition Builds Habits. - It is highly repetitive. However, like any habit, it needs to be driven into one over and over to really leave its imprint. Push through and remember, this is about creating change in ourselves, one and done truly isn’t enough to make that really set in. The repetition helps you marinate in it, and for lasting change, that’s part of the point.

2. Interesting concept, GREAT READ! - The book is literally as the title reads. The author not only explains what it means to lead with why but also it’s purpose. Very deep especially the last chapter with the story of the runner. If your at a point I life where you don’t know where to go next definitely read this.
2021-05-02
3. Simple concept with profound implications - What a powerful book! For those who were moved by Simon Sinek’s Ted Talk on “Start with Why,” this book is really the complete package in terms of examples and arguments that support his thesis. Finding a way to inspire those around us is the Holy Grail of leadership. So having recently found myself tasked with running a small organization, it was no surprise that this book was helpful. stars for compelling me to read this book end-to-end (I don’t often make the time to read). Very excited to read Sinek’s other books.
2021-04-18
4. Repetitive, but Foundational - Look, this book is repetitive. It feels like Simon repeats the same phrase in every section of the book. However, this book made me reflect on the way that I approach my daily life. In business, in leadership, and in relationship building. And I believe that the repetition brings me back to remember why I even picked up the book in the first place. To find the inspiration to think differently. This book did that for me.
2020-03-27
5. A bit Repetitive - We get it: WHY is important. It was repeated over & over with supporting evidence then abruptly drops you off the Cliff of What Now? Some practical advise & strategy on identifying our core “why” would be useful. I was left hanging, wanting assistance or guidance on my journey down the discovery path.
2019-06-28
6. Boring - The book has some good points and i agree with what is said, but it keeps repeating it again and again and it gets boring. You just basically keep reading about Apple’s and Southwest’s WHY and how Dell and HP have lost their’s. The author keeps telling us how companies have lost their WHY’s, but i think he forgot his too.
2019-02-11
7. Why this is a great book - This book is so much more than mindful reason, it is about bone marrow deep purpose. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and discovered new insight and ability to really dig deeper for my Why. Simon Sinek’s golden circle and explanation of the biology of why is brilliantly brought forth in his book. A must read for anyone that desires to be driven by purpose rather than compulsion.
2018-03-15
8. Meh - Pretty good book. Like most of these, the author makes his point quickly, and then proceeds to beat his point into the ground. Ad nauseam. It’s been a long time since I read a business book that page after page I found some enthralling useful advice. After I read this book, that statement still holds true.
2017-10-10
9. Start With Why - Very inspirational. If you enjoy books that tell stories about Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Howard Schultz and other successful corporate leaders. You ll like this book. It's my style of reading. Very easy to remember the concepts of the Golden Circle. I wily definitely recommend. If you like Malcolm Gladwell type books you enjoy this one.

10. Inspiration to inspire yourself - As a huge Sinek fan, this book has made it’s way deep into my soul. I read this book with a sidenote and highlighter always reflecting on who/how this could benefit me or someone I know. It is incredibly insightful and inspiring. Thank you Simon for another little window into your wonderful mind.

1. Amazing Value - I have paid over $, in “bootcamps” and “courses” that have told me what he will teach you for $.. The “trainers” have literally taken his pictures from his book and made them “their own.” Before you buy into another course, listen or read this first. It will let you know % of what they’re going to teach you. Not even kidding. Same language and same ideas. Alex is the GOAT.

2. This is the Real Deal - If you want some actual actionable advice to grow your business, check this book out. Alex has a youtube channel that I’ve gotten tons of value. This book eclipses that. I can now see how and what to do to really make an impact in my business, I promise you will too if you send the time to digest and actually apply its knowledge. I’d also recommend listening to the audiobook while reading as well.
2023-03-13
3. Knowledge and power. - They say knowledge is power, but what they don’t say is that if you don’t apply that knowledge you remain powerless all the same. This book is not designed to do things for you, rather it teaches you the principals behind human nature and how to benefit from what would inevitably seem obvious to anyone who is willing to apply the knowledge in this book. If you don’t believe that words can change your world for the better, then ask yourself, has there ever been something said to you that has made your day worse? If say someone has bad breath, they will brush their teeth. If you say someone is fat enough times, they will lose weight. If you tel someone that improving your business is possible and they LISTEN, their business will improve. Your job is to read and LISTEN to what is being said here. Give it a read, it’s motivating and inspiring. Don’t compare exact situations in this book to your own life but instead compare the general situations. Start - growth - Dream - Realization.

4. So Far, Really Good - It’s AM I’m on my porch drinking a coffee just woke up. Every morning I’ve been committed to reading this book or at least doing the best I can. I don’t come from money or family or friends that are successful. I’ve been doing my best to build my company, there’s fear ups and downs, and I find it really nice to be able to read his book and offer me insights that I feel are so valuable. I’m almost halfway done and I am one of those people one of those entrepreneurs that really wants to succeed. PS I want to help faceless entrepreneurs.

5. Amazing - Whether you sell a product, service, or anything else that provides value to someone’s life then I’d recommend this book. I first found Alex on YouTube then when I found out he had a book, I made it a goal to read it. I’m halfway through the book and can’t stop. Thank you Alex for providing an essential piece of literature!

6. No Nonsense & Straight Forward - Great book! I read it along with the audio book, Alex has a great voice/personality, I also listen to his podcast; The Game. Lots of great nuggets of knowledge that are a no nonsense approach to sales in any industry. I’m applying it to my event planning business and it works. If you want valuable validated knowledge without all the fluff this is where to find it! I can’t wait for Alex’s next book! Thank you for the insight Alex!

7. This is a complete game changer for me - I have finished only half of the book, however, something has already triggered in my mind what I was doing wrong all these years and the real ways to make your clients to buy a product and make offer so sweet and irresistible that they feel stupid to say no. Implementing all this advice into my business , let’s see how it will work.

8. Information packed! - I had come across this book and instantly purchased it after hearing Alex speak on a podcast. This was days ago and I have to say this book has given me a lot of insight. It’s made me realized past problems I over looked with businesses that failed. Would definitely recommend this book.

9. Better than a Marketing degree - I don’t care what books you’ve ever read or marketing or how experienced you are, this book is a game changer. I’ve been doing marketing for years and this book I learned a lot. Do not be on the fence about buying it. It’s worth it but digest it whole. It’s not something you can or would even want to put it down.

10. Alex you’re a Selfless human! - I think what Alex is doing is incredible. Sharing his knowledge for free! I think when you get to a certain level in life financially it’s about going back. Sharing that knowledge. Sharing your purpose. So toners can thrive. Become more purposeful. I’m not even half way though M Offers and I already know I was meant to read this book. Thank you Alex.

1. Misleading Title - This book has too many anecdotal side stories that have nothing to do with money (many are about doctors/medicine-which is understandable because his father was a doctor). But when you set out to write a book about something, it should be entirely focused on the subject. Also, he throws in a bunch of pieces of articles written by others about American history. It’s pretty much useless content. I found myself skimming over a lot of it. However, he does have some interesting stories and good advice about investing.

2. Such an easy read - I was looking for a financial guidance book when I stumbled upon this gem. I am a business major who studies finance quite a bit. The author takes complicated topics to understand and the importance behind them in your life and explains it in such an easy to comprehend story style. Every principle learned in this book is taught through stories and personal testimonies of some of the most successful financial role models in the world. I found myself unable to put the book down because I was so excited to hear how the author would explain the next topic. The author makes the next chapter so enticing like a tv show where you just can’t wait for the next episode to come out so you can watch it. So many people ask the questions, “why why why?” About everything. This books explains the why to every single topic so there is no question left over. Amazing book. Highly recommend you take the time to read it, you won’t regret it!

4. Financial Health Tips - The Psychology of Money offers common insights on how to manage and conceptualize money. There is value here, as it positively altered my perspective on personal monetary policies. To be concise: this is a light, ease read but worthwhile nonetheless. Think of it as a collection of pithy financial health tips. If you’re looking for theory or algorithms, this is not that book.

5. Title fits what he talks about. - This book was very good and informative, but for me there were too many stories and I understand that you’re trying to make us see a point of view that we may not have had before that story, but I would still like to be able to take away more key pointers, something in this book that I feel was not there. This book is definitely overhyped.

6. Simply wonderful! - What a fantastic read! The postscript is reason enough to want to buy and read this book. I have yet to find a more perfect synopsis of America’s economic history and the resultant actions of us as American consumers, in a concise yet thorough examination. This book also bucks the trend of the proverbial, “Everyone should do this with their money” ideal. It brings up excellent points to consider but that ultimately, those money decisions need to make sense for you and your family. Highly recommended!

7. Human nature in the lens of money - This is one of the better books I’ve read the last few years. It’s mainly the idea of understanding the foolish ways we think that interrupt our chances of saving money. It’s really a great book. Each chapter is too the point and impactful. I recommend it to everyone
2021-04-26
8. Sanity In Pages - Speaking of narratives we want to be true so we tell ourselves a story to make it true - a point of psychology this book makes - reading this book, especially bc of it's title, helps me feel I earned an extra credential as a person managing his own money. For me, it didn’t yield goosebump ah-ha insights that changed my paradigm of how I feel about money, but it did reveal key issues to make me feel wiser. Am I wiser? Doesn’t matter as long as I feel it. Nice job Morgan. I recommend it. Especially for young investors.

9. BUY NOW !!!!! - Common sense goes a long way when writing a Financial book . The sense of feeling when you get to relate to most of what you can understand when reading. At a time where things don’t matter at the rate of people dying of covid . It’s a blessing to have a book that tells you what’s the most important reason to live long and make money . Point blank a breath of fresh air in reading . Buy it and you won’t regret it .

1. A very unique and creative perspective - Very good book with interesting concepts and that often lead to self evaluation and re-examination/ discovery of my past.
. because it becomes slightly over done at times ( however I believe it to be done to convey the author’s passion and belief in his theory.

2. Good but not like Talking To Strangers - This was a very interesting audiobook. Gladwell looks at success through a different lens. He examines success not just by hard work but by timing. Gladwell explains the , hour rule - it takes , hours of intense practice to become an expert at something. But success is also a product of timing. The majority of professional hockey players are born at the beginning months of the year coinciding with the youth league age cutoff. Wealthiest men of the Industrial Age are born within years. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, & Bill Joi born within months of each other. Gladwell also examines how culture plays a part of success too. However, I felt that Chapter on plane crashes which examines cultural reasons for communication breakdowns during flight emergencies didn’t really fit into this book about “success.” After reading Gladwell’s book Talking to Strangers, this book was a bit of a disappointment. Overall it’s a good book but not at the same caliber as Talking to Strangers.

3. Nature vs Nurture - The debate of Nature versus Nurture is an old one. Hero culture, that idea of individual exceptionalism willed from “boot strap” beginnings, prevails heavily in the US. What this vision lacks is the detailed history and nuanced perspective on all of the circumstances that set up success in spite of all other factors. Malcolm Gladwell does another masterful job of diving into the complexities of social psychology; employing his usual story telling narrative style, along with data, and engaging anecdotes. Specifically, this book navigates through relatedness and definitions of IQ, EQ, and SQ. It builds from those foundations to ask how the odd formula of balancing those three along with “lucky” breaks help us see the true story behind success and failure. My individual perspective leads me to believe that who we are comes down to part nature (IQ) plus parts nurture (environment [EQ SQ]). The bigger take away is that we have to really look at, what Gladwell calls the Cultural Heredity, of various scenarios to get to the root circumstances that filter people into successful, average, and failing buckets. Then ask ourselves, is the system itself producing outliers by way of some unseen flaw or is the playing field level and we are really seeing the cream of the crop?

4. Malcom does it again, such great research and insights - This guy is slowly becoming my favorite author. Was introduced to him via the podcast “Revisionist History”. This one follows his usual track record of great material backed by good research. I heard the audio book. So great to hear it from the man himself.
2019-11-10
5. Interesting but Not Particularly Actionable - The thesis of “Outliers” is that we are all largely a product of our environments, and that the greatest among us benefit from being part of the right environments in addition to having certain innate talent as a prerequisite. Gladwell’s arguments are informative and salient, but if you’re approaching the book for advice, I don’t think there’s a lot of actionable information.

6. I have never hated a book more - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. This book made me want to rip my eyes out so that I wouldn’t have to read it. While some parts were interesting, the rest of the book made me feel either very angry or discouraged. It basically says that a lot of lucky things have to fall into place or else you will be a failure. As I read this horrible book, all I could compare it to were the reading sections of a standardized English test but an ENTIRE BOOK. I should sue Malcom for the lost time and happiness in my life.

7. The problem with logical fallacies posing a books. - If there was a way to reward negative stars this book would’ve been a good canidate for them. I have a great love for reading but this book inspired a poignant hatred inside me that would not go out. Utterly uninspirational this work attempts to give credit to the philosophy that it is not hard work that matters and personal effort but everything aside from that. To quote the esteemed Gladwell “if the resources of the grocer, the fruits of those riots, the possibilities of that culture, and the privileges of that skin tone had been extended to others, how many more would now live a life of fulfillment, in a beautiful house high on a hill?” In this startilingly disjointed book readers will learn oh so essential lessons like how (again to quote Gladewell’s exact words) “the Asian worldview was shaped by the rice paddy.” But not to worry this book is more then just racist bigotry (though that does remain a major aspect) it also follows important and completely unfounded ideas about how essenital cultural ancestry and farming practices are to the educational capiblities of future generations. Make sure to pay attention to his theories on how the reformers of the ninteenth century (who were more focused on temperance and utopian societies then education) based their reforms on western agricultural patterns.

8. Relatively speaking - Dr. Gladwell is supposed to be my most famous living relative, according to and Me, the DNA analyzing company. I think there are some untested among my relatives who might beat him, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I think the answer to the super IQ test is: Teeth to a hen, is the same as Nest is to EGG. Think about it. Hens don't have teeth, concomitantly, eggs don't have nests.
2015-09-24
9. Good read - I give this book a out of stars (special people) because I really enjoyed the book. At the beginning I did have a hard time getting into reading the book but as soon as I got into it, it had many interesting stories. This book was useful to me because Malcolm Gladwell said that to be successful, you need to have at least , hours in the area of what you want to be successful in. In the end it was very entertaining for me.
2014-12-09
10. Thought provoking. - Outliers is a very good book that is easy to read. I love how Gladwell is able to engage the reader and is very skilled at writing. Outliers provides great concepts regarding the background success of famous people such as Bill Gates. By the end of the book the reader will have a newfound understanding at what it takes to succeed.

1. There’s nothing good about Rommel - The book is too interested in not seeing an example through to the end. He holds up Rommel as some sort of military genius in North Africa leaving out the fact that he died by suicide at the side of Hitler after murdering his own family while hiding in a bunker. After that it’s hard to take the book seriously. Also, he really carries the water for all the Silicon Valley bros. Just read Marcus Aurelius on your own and don’t waste your time with this opinion piece on stoicism.

2. Definitely recommend - This book is so spot on to what I’ve been experiencing of late in my personal and professional life. It has become a great tool for me to use and look at situations through a different lens and in most situations, to see myself through them better off. This will be a great asset as I continue my personal growth and one I share with many along the way.

3. Perspective changing - Fascinating book, and I’m very grateful to have read it! I work in manufacturing and It’s changed not only how I look at the not-so-enjoyable “busy work” that must be managed before getting to work on more interesting projects and challenges, but also how I interact with my team members (Unity over Self and “giving a crack at lifting the heavy end”). The authors bias is apparent several times throughout the book and only serves as a distraction from the point being made, regardless of whether you agree with it or not.

4. Well written great book - I kept co omg across this book for some time and finally jumped into it and was immediately hooked and inspired. Ryan does a great job laying it all out in very concise and easy to understand concepts and action items. The book is Otha Zies into very short chapters which I really liked because you could easily knock a few out of short on time. More often than not, I found myself reading much more than “I had time for”. I really appreciate the reading suggestions in the back of the book as stoicism is something that is interesting me more and more the more I read and I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge with these suggestions. Well done Ryan and thank you. I really needed this book right now.

5. Excellent book, quick read - I picked this book up after seeing it on Tim Ferriss' book club recommendation, I'm glad I did. Very interesting without being pious or preachy. Great examples of great men and women in history and how they used the classics of antiquity guide them through their trials. One caveat, I listened to the Ferriss interview with the author after I bought the book and am glad I did because Mr. Holiday is certainly not a public and does absolutely nothing to bolster his position as a Stoic by publicly speaking. He has found calling and needs to stick with the written word. Why you may ask? Because he sounds like a year old kid living in his parents basement, sounds very unsure of himself, too young, and has accomplishments with which to support his dispensing of Stoic wisdom. But he writes a great book and I'm sure will develop his speaking ability.

6. Ryan moves up a notch... - Big time. I was surprised at the how deep this book was. Almost unexpected. I’ve read all the greats (Steven Pressfield and Jack Canfield among them) and Ryan has totally moved closer to that level (IMHO). I read an old Lifehack article on him and how obsessed he’s been with writing, but had no idea how deep the subject matter was. I’m always on the lookout for stories of triumph in extremely tough situations as opposed to all the usual upbeat motivational books. This is beyond what I had hoped for. Still surprised that someone so young has repurposed this (almost forgotten) almost ancient philosophy for today. I’ve read LOTS of books over the years, but this one definately goes to the head of the class. Thank you Ryan, :

7. An awesomely inspiring read! - I’ve read Ryan Holiday’s previous two books, but this is by far his best work yet. Cheers to Holiday for celebrating the art of failing well rather than casting failure as a necessarily negative life event. We’re all bound to face difficulties, so why not choose to learn from them rather than throw our hands up in the air? Holiday illustrates the stoic way of life by drawing upon a wide array of specific examples involving many of the great leaders, inventors, and thinkers who have embraced stoicism over the centuries. The anecdotes he focuses on are enjoyable to read as tasty nuggets of history. More importantly, each story is relatable, and human. The structure of the book, which is divided into three parts, reflects the threefold philosophy he advocates. I cannot recommend this book highly enough! If you’re anything like me, after finishing, you won’t be able to stop saying: “The obstacle is the way!"

1. Click bait with no info on how to do anything. - Basically the author tells you to buy good assets not bad ones, those who work for money are basically pathetic and real estate is the only asset that’s worth anything. He says a lot of common sense stuff that you do get taught in school. Honestly, he makes money off of real estate and writing a book that is more or less click bait because it tells you nothing about how to do any of the things he says you need to do. Hard pass if you want legit actionable advice.

2. I’m still on my learning journey, this was step one - There was stuff I agreed with and stuff I didn’t agree with. I’m still trying to understand this money game so I guess reading this book was the first step, even though I couldn’t grasp all of it. I would say people should still read this book to at least understand the foundation of money and the root of most, if not all our issues with finance.

3. Opens the mind - This book really opened my mind look at money in a different way than I have ever been taught. It also showed where I made mistakes in my past by not taking action and saying I don’t have the money. I will have my two daughters read this so maybe they won’t make the same mistakes I made. I’m not one that likes to read but the way this is written grabs you and doesn’t let go. Thanks for writing the book and the lessons learned. Time to take action.

4. I HATE READING... but I couldn’t put this book down... - This is my first review of a book EVER in my life. I come from from a family who loves reading, I myself always hated it. I try too, but get bored and never open the book again. I bought this book and let me tell you that this is the first book ever in my life that I loved! I couldn’t put this book down. I am currently still reading it but as I go though my days and hear people talking about money this book and it’s teaching always come to my mind and everything in the book is true. I see the connections. I recommend this to everyone!

This book is beyond amazing as it has completely revamped my way of thinking financially. I’m extremely grateful for all of the advice, charts and formulas that Robert has provided in this amazing work of literature. AGAIN! THIS IS A MUST READ!! THANK YOU ROBERT!!

1. Exactly what i needed - IYKYK, this business will beat you down, physically and mentally. Thrilled i bought it as someone who “lives in color” started as a busboy and now a GM for years. Haven’t been this moved since a soul of a chef(and yes i went to culinary school). Simple yet calculated ways of thinking but written so eloquently. I would love to work for this man even as a bus boy.

1. Perfect book for what I’m going through. - The ability this book has had to connect and center my emotional state has shocked me. I also wondered why I “over-think” emotional states, feelings, and relationships. Turns out I’m a riser, not a “over-thinker” like my past toxic relationships have framed me to be. Great to know that there is more perspectives you can learn from and dive into. Definitely recommend this book and I’m excited to read another one of Brene’s!

2. Great Content - Difficult Structure - This book does a great job showing the authenticity the authors bring to their work. The conversational tone and pulling-back of the curtains over their personal lives really helped me connect with the principles being discussed. I loved it! The only difficult part about this book was following the structure and piecing together each part to create one complete theme. It was a great read! I highly recommend this book!

1. Perspective - We all grew up thinking passion was a beautiful thing, not realizing we inhibit selfish tendencies from it. Touching on so many points that made me evaluate myself as a year old, clearly I have a long way to go until I reach where I want to be. This book made me more excited about my development instead of worrying. stars if I could and I thank you.

2. Accessible, inspirational, and share-worthy book. - Accessible, inspirational, and share-worthy book. I could not more highly recommend this book for those interested in destroying what has otherwise held you back. You will certainly find yourself writing passages down and highlighting like a college student. Treat yourself to this book, and make it an actual book. You will want to be that connected to the words.

3. - It took years for me to finish reading this e-book. . What I liked? Everything. . What I didn’t like? That it took me years to humble myself to actually read/highlight it. It thought that by buying it would be enough. Now the challenge is to re-read it over and over again (sweep over and over again) for the rest of our lives.

4. Ego is the Enemy - Incredible book full of wisdom and real life examples of the messages it is trying to deliver. It spoke to me on multiple levels and will remain by my bedside (with The Obstacle is the Way) forever. I have already given copies of a few on my team at work who I think will benefit from it. The whole team will receive a copy at our off-site retreat in November.

5. Dangerously therapeutic - The first chapters of this book were uncomfortable to read. Ryan seems to have placed a magnifying glass on your soul as he combs through its intricate insecurities. Eventually, you realize it's your ego fighting back in denial. As you read through, a framework for managing the enemy emerges and you walk away better equipped for what lies ahead. The more uncomfortable you are reading this book, the more you need it.

1. Foolish book points out the obvious with dubious honesty - Author is a self-centered, happy-go-lucky preacher who struggles to fulfill his basic responsibilities to his loved ones and spends too much money on self-help and personal growth materials. In this book, he will tell you about self-evident truths about the importance of a good attitude, paying attention to your finances, and empathizing with other people. Author also wants you to have faith in a God and donate money. This book did not describe to me anything that I was not already doing or did not already know. I strongly recommend against purchasing this book.

2. Make today count - This book can be life-changing if you apply the principles. However; I bought the book for $., yet it's $. on iBooks. A digital copy should be much cheaper than the physical book. No printing, no binding, no shipping, no physical presence (rent, utilities, payroll), but we get $ off. No deal.

1. Formatting issues even in summary - This book is closed to be unreadable. Well for serious readers. All reading methods use the summary to get a mental model of the whole book by reading chapter and sections. But in this book, they are all empty. Instead of reporting the actual real title in the book, it shows “chapter , chapter , chapter , …” So literaly no way to know how the book is organized or how to quickly find a subject in the book. I am amazed that “professionnals industry” can screw up so simple things as a summary. It’s just like nobody read a book or nobody care.

2. eVersion Legibility & Missing Data - This review is not on the book itself which is an investment classic. Rather it is about the e-version I purchased from iTunes. This is a type of book that I read where I highlight, make margin notes, and study the explanatory tables, charts, and diagrams. I also make use of the index looking for one thing or another in the book. The tables in this version are barely legible, in some cases not really legible. Trying to study a table that reinforces a statement in the book is sometimes guesswork. The index is useless as it does not contain any page numbers. Topics, names, etc. are there but no page numbers. Fortunately I also have an older print copy, so I can find some of what I’m searching for. So I have a work around. But I have to agree with an another reviewer that I would not have bought the e-version if I would have known about the legibility and index issues.

1. Habits is a GAME CHANGER! - I love everything about this book. It provides a precise map on how to get the most out of life, how to maximize human potential. I read it years ago and attended a Covey seminar. I wish I had committed to applying it’s principles then. After reading it a second time I won’t let that happen again. Habits is meant to be kept on the night stand so it can be referenced often. These principles have stood the test of time and will always be relevant. CultureDude

1. Book Review - I am a student of the University of Baltimore and I am writing a review for this book for an assignment. Over all this was a pretty good read for, a little slow at times and at times was hard for me to want to keep up with, but for the most part had very useful information, especially for this day in age when things go viral quickly. In this book Jonah Berger talks about why things catch on or go viral in a sense. Jonah Berger outlines STEPPS which is an acronym for the steps he believes are the reasons of why things catch on and companies can use these to market their company and be successful with creating a buzz about their company or product. The STEPPS include, Social Currency, Triggers, Emotions, Public, Practical Value and Stories. Social Currency deals with how much people are talking about you and your brand. It is assumed that people should be talking about you, definitely in a good way to get the buzz going about you, your company or brand. Triggers are things that I someone hears them it makes them think of your company. For instance if someone says the word Apple, it is not only now associated with eating an apple, but apple the brand. The next is Emotions, what emotions does your company give off , what feelings do customers get when they hear or think of your brand ? Public means that no one is taking about you or your company if there is nothing out there for them to see. For instance a shirt that has the Apple logo will stand out and cause people to notice it. Practical Value deals with news you can use, basically how helpful is this to me ? How does this benefit me ? Stories deals with your product or idea having a story to it . People like to tell stories and if you have a good one it can benefit you in the long run.

2. Worth Reading - This book presented an interesting perspective on why things go viral. Some of the things added to the book may have been unnessecary to get his point across but the stories were somewhat entertaining and if the STEPPS framework is followed it should allow you to add valuable virality to your product.

1. A TRUE MIRACLE DIET - Miracle diets always start with “I lost an unheard of amount of weight within a week.“ This great book by Tiffany Alliche, aka “The Budgetnista,” is like that but with your DEBT. Pre publication of Get Good With Money, I took advantage of Tiffany’s program, Live Richer Academy; and, within less than one month of following this budget program, I literally lost $ in debt, and gained $ in an emergency savings. Tiffany’s book, which is a compilation of her LRA program, is detailed and yet easy to understand for those who have had trouble creating and maintaining a budget and money goals. More importantly, the advice and lessons provided here will stay in the back of your mind, when, like myself, you may find yourself out impulse or stress shopping. I had followed Dave Ramsey for years, but was never able to get the results I had with Tiffany’s information. This is one small investment that will pay off immensely.

1. Changed how I view my life and the world around me - Bought this on audiobook today it will be my fourth reading, I first read this book back when it was first published. It’s groundbreaking work that should make us all inspect and re-evaluate all of our approaches to risk and uncertainty and think best with how we are best prepared for the unforeseen and high-impact events that conventional models either assign an incorrect probability or the type of event is simply unforeseeable (aka the “Turkey Problem”). This works on all levels so there are lessons to be found for us all as individuals, parents, families … governments. This book is not for those who benefit from government bailouts!

2. Few refreshing ideas but a bit outlandish and too long - Interesting book with a few good takeaways and original ideas. Could be much shorter though. There are some topics where the author is trying to be too bombastic/outlandish but that’s understandable- the book sells better that way. Also, his obsession with being against the Gaussian distribution becomes a little irritating later in the book- he just keeps repeating himself.

3. Good read for science illiterates - Autobiographical meanderings that total up to one simple idea, life is unpredictable.
As the son of an engineer, I learned early in life that the governing principle of
engineering is called, light-heartedly, "Murphy's Law." Though many corollaries
have been developed over the years, like "the time it takes to complete a project
will expand to the time allotted," the main thesis is that, "anything that can go
wrong, will go wrong, and at the worst possible time." Taleb does make one good
point in a previous book he authored, the soft sciences are not science at all.
Anything that involves humans is unpredictable because we have the ability to
predict, and thus antiicpate and alter the future. Inadvertantly perhaps, he provides a very simple and logical definition of Free Will.

4. Great on multiple levels - This book is a roller coaster — fast and slow. It left indelible marks before and after i read it in , and in repetitions since then. Densely packed, but packed that for good reason… name Taleb could find no better way. His heated passion for subjected matter comes through again and again. Not light reading material — but takes repetition and time to digest. Can be thrilling, dizzying like a roller coaster. But unlike the primarily entertainment focus of a roller coaster Taleb’s entertainment goal not main one.

5. Black Swan a Must Read... - This book crystalized something I first sensed the day after /… That unexpected, epic events often play out just the opposite of conventional wisdom and are often misinterpreted in hindsight. Because of this need to explain things that could not be predicted, we live in a sort of false history and seem to be painting ourselves into a corner in terms of laws and rights and wars in a sad effort to stop events we can't possibly predict. Taleb is a true genius.

6. Wow. - Honestly and embarrassingly I purchased this book thinking the movie "Black Swan" was based off it. It isn't. Clearly. Having said that, this is one of the most interesting reads I've ever had. While it feels like a text book, the author does a marvelous job of enveloping you in his theories. The iPad version is great as many times ive found myself using the dictionary and wiki links... Which has furthered my understanding and enjoyment of this text. Highly recommended.

1. Fantastic Read and has helped my business - Finally, I feel in control of my business and our financial situation. I’ve got to dig my way out of business debt but with this system in place I know we can do it. I only wish I would’ve read this book sooner. I now recommend this book to every person I know that is either currently in business or looking to start a business no matter the size. Finally, I’m helping pay my family’s bills and working on growing business too.

2. MUST READ - This is by far my favorite business book thus far. I read at least a book a week, and purely nonfiction, business, or development. Profit first has made a huge impact on my business life so far & I am so so so thankful that I found this gem. I am more confident & excited about my businesses future & no longer dreading and worrying about things to come. Living day by day & stressing. Thank you SO much for this book! I can not recommend it enough.

3. Game Changer - I came across mike michalowicz through Dave Ramsey solutions during our th year of business. If you take the time to read the book and apply the principles it will recharge you and your business! I always keep a spare copy of this book in my purse to gift to people I come across who are stressed or struggling with their business. 4. For every business owner- new or years in! - This is probably the first business related book I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. The themes make perfect sense to me and are delivered in a way that is easy to understand and execute. I have been employing the principles for a month now and already see a huge difference in the financial aspect of my business.

5. LOVE it! - I have had this book on my to-read list for months. I finally started it and can’t get enough of it. I bought the audio version after hiring Mike on a podcast. Not only is it so much faster to get through, it’s easier to understand and Mike is very animated which makes it fun. I have implemented everything step by step that Mike instructs and feel as if I finally have someone on my side to help me with my business finances with the goal to grow it in the future. I am now able to understand how to be disciplined and manage the income I have, so that I can do bigger and better things with the income to come. Although the book talks a lot to the small companies makes $ million and under, I have a VERY small business (under $k) and the principles still apply. I wish more people knew about this way of doing things, because I am surrounded by entrepreneurs just like me who say “I’m hoping to increase my sales, because right now my business takes everything and I have pennies to live on.” This books transforms that way of thinking and helps you understand that it’s not the dollar amount coming in, it’s the what you do with those dollars. Thank you for this book Mike!

1. Read it every day in - This book is in my top of all time. Ancient wisdom from the Stoics that rings true and feels modern today. I read it every day as part of my journaling and writing practice. Try it here on iBooks and if you love it, consider picking up a leather bound version by Ryan at his book store, The Painted Porch. That’s why I did, this book is a gem.

2. Stoicism - Despite the author's claim that Stoicism is not the unfeeling philosophy we have come to know it as, that is definitely what I found this collection of philosophical quotes to be. If you are looking to affirm your bootstrap moral code that is built on soulless "shoulds", then this is the book for you. There are definitely some classic gems to be mined from these dauntless thinkers.

3. Daily Supplement of Wisdom - I first encountered the Stoics in my Philosophy classes in college. Our professors focused on more current schools of Philosophy, so Stoicism was only glanced upon. For that reason and others I did not really pick it up again until late in . Looking for something calming and distracting from the political turmoil. Slowly working my way through the Stoic philosophers I eventually landed at Ryan Holiday’s detailed analysis and packaging of Stoicism into a bite sized daily package. Stoicism is a lot to try and take on, almost hinting at a monastic sensibility. You need a guide through it so you don’t end up sitting on a rock disavowing the world in some sort of numbing isolation. The Daily Stoic is just the right type of field manual for those interested in Stoic teachings. It is not just like some New Year’s calendar with a clever quote everyday, though it is read ideally consumed in daily readings over the course of a year. Holiday has carefully structured each month into themes that build upon each other. Quotes and passages from the various Stoics are explained and tied to anecdotal examples from modern life. Moreover, the months are grouped into different aspects of our nexus of control. This approach makes Stoicism approachable and useful for anyone. With all of the incoming noise and chaos of the world only growing in scale, relative to the technology that accelerates the entropic reach of distraction; we need a release valve for all of the building pressure. A little meditation and supplement of The Daily Stoic is the perfect remedy.

4. The Daily Stoic - I’ve been reading this book everyday for years, and I learn something every time I read it. Repetition is imperative for me, so reread these pages in order to absorb the statements and put them into practice. As long as I am alive, I will read this book everyday and work to be a better man.

5. - When I began following in Jan , I was a smoker with other bad health habits who had a poor social life and intense anxiety. Through using the companion journal and reading these texts, I began to see certain themes come up again and again and again. I realized how ashamed I was of my smoking and the way I was treating people and myself. Using this text, Holiday’s other books, some meditation, and a lot of good intention, I quit smoking, started travel nursing, got back in the gym, started running, and started treating people and myself with respect. I’ve been cigarette free for - months now and I’m very proud of my relationships and the way I treat people. This text is an invaluable resource for young men (especially) who feel that they have no obvious male role models. Many days I read these texts and felt like Marcus was speaking to me from the grave as a father and a brother. Thank you, Ryan. I no longer fear death (or life ).

6. The Bedside Counselor - A close friend suggested The Daily Stoic as a guide for life’s journey as I move into the next half century of my life. It sits on my bedside as a calming resource for daily and weekly spiritual guidance on my own ongoing personal development, my career, communication at home and at work, and family engagements (both the highs and the lows). I love how the boook is designed in sections with supporting ancient philosphies (and the authors’ translations) that align with that section. You can take things in small bites, reflect and then consider how you might apply the teachings. As a lifelong learner, this is a valuable addition to my beloved collection of books!

7. The Daily Stoic - I literally bought his book last Thursday because Megan Batoon (a Youtuber/dancer/an overall cool person) showed me multiple excerpts from this book by Ryan Holiday and I was inspired to buy the book so I obviously did. This book was genuinely informative and it has taught me honestly more than I ever learned in high school and that's saying a lot. I feel like a Stoic practitioner and I'm not afraid to let the world and whoever comes my way know about all the wisdom and knowledge I've obtained from reading this amazing book.

I have this book on Google Books but I was trying to get all my books on Apple but I saw the way the pages were and did an immediate NOPE.. Why this isn’t like the other books where it’s page by page I don’t know. You have to zoom in to read the page then zoom out and go to the next page and repeat the process. Disappointed Apple is asking people to pay for a book that isn’t even done properly. Great book and highly recommended but find another place to get it. APPLE PLEASE FIX!!!

2. Not actually an eBook - zero stars - Turns out this is effectively just a PDF, not an properly formatted eBook. This means the text size, background color, and scroll direction can't be changed, making it very difficult to read. I'm disappointed that this subpar user experience was even permitted in the store in the first place.

3. Stars for content and layout - I almost didn’t buy this version because of some reviews about the format. Perhaps there is some room for user error, but when I realized I could zoom to each column, highlight sections and turn them into flash cards, and watch videos all within this book - I knew I had to write a review. You’ll love this layout on an iOS device. The content is of course phenomenal. I read this book at the start of my career. years in, I’m realizing what a profound impact these principles and Covey’s stories have had on me. Even small paragraph’s contain life-changing nuggets. So good.

4. Great book marred by terrible e-book edition - I agree with the reviews written by ChuckE and Jprennie: One of the best books ever written is presented in about the worst possible way. Some graphics are missing, the rest are hard to read. I wondered why everything about this book moved so slowly until I saw on my MacBook that this e-edition is MB! Are you kidding me? Should be no more than MB. Something is seriously wrong with this edition. Please fix it.

5. Poor graphics - I like the idea of an interactive version of this book, and it's good to have the videos. However, graphics are very small and blurry, and there is no capability to click and enlarge them. Many of the graphics are cut off midway. Please create and updated version with better graphics!

6. This version needs FIXED! - Great book, no question. Unfortunately the original text pictures in my version are cut off on the corners and do not show up correctly, which causes some content to be unviewable!
Also, where is the TIME MANAGEMENT matrix?! It is supposed to be in Habit . The text to discuss Qudrant II is there, but the visual is no where to be found! HELP!

7. Very very horrible edition!! Buyer beware!!!!! - No doubt the habits book is a classic. I have read the original habits book and loved it so much that I thought it would be nice to own the digital edition too. This review is about this horrible th anniversary digital iBook edition. I can't even find words to fully express how annoyed I am. I wish I could get my money back. The videos embedded in the book are of very poor quality. But more importantly the tables and diagrams in the book are incomplete. It makes no sense. This edition does not even have the index of tables referenced by Dr. Covey in various chapters in the book. This is a rip off. Please let me know how I can get my money back. I'm not impressed. From now onwards, kindle will be my go-to ebook application. Reader please beware of this edition.

8. Good book but wordy - I have started to read a lot of leadership books and of course this is one of the most well known. It's a good book however it is kind of wordy which I think makes the book much longer than it needs to be. Surprisingly I found how I could integrate these habits not just in leadership, but my personal life as well. "Interactive" may be a stretch because the only difference than any other iBook is that there are about or so short video segments scattered throughout the book. It is nice to see Stephen talking about some of the principles in the book even if you can tell the video was recorded years ago. Quite honestly the same videos, or ones talking similar things, are most likely on YouTube. P.s.
I'm subtracting one additional star from this version because some of the charts do not show up properly on the iPhone or iPad. Matter of fact I had to google the time management chart because I could not figure out what it was supposed to look like. It is nice that all the charts are in color at least.

9. Overdesigned, hard to read, tan background, hard to read and navigate. Terrible! - Overdesigned and hard to read: the tan background decreases contrast while you're reading and the font sizes differ so greatly from most e books in my iBooks that I had to change my system wide settings just to read this one. The book is harder to navigate than other e books as well. I bought the interactive version first. It's MUCH WORSE than this one. There's NOT EVEN PORTRAIT MODE while reading it, It pushes out two pages at a time as if you only read in landscape mode! When reading a book, I'll decide how I want read it! Thank you very much. Checking out this one was almost as bad as the interactive version. The page breaks for chapters don't even show up or have decent spacing between the end of one section and the beginning of a new chapter! VERY BAD! I want a BOOK. Black letters on a white background and the standard navigation. What's so hard to understand about that? Can't you also sell just a plain white wrapper version of this American Classic, Apple? Some of us just want the same version of the book we have on the shelf for portable reading and reference and working through it one chapter at a time! Only Kindle (which I normally avoid, preferring the Apple ecosystem) has a PLAIN black and white version of the book, the th edition. Is $. but takes some tricks to order it and not have it upgrade you to this "interactive" overdesigned verion. I prefer to have all my books in iBooks, but since Apple doesn't carry a simple version of the book, I was forced into getting it from Amazon. SMH! Apple, fix this! Get the th edition so people have a choice!! I will be asking for my money back for this horrible version!!!

10. Practical, Insightful, Easy to understand - This book is a wealth of information. It is clearly written in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-follow manner, yet so deep and insightful. I learned so much about myself and I gleaned many practical things to implement in my personal life and in the organization that I am a part of. The author talks about how to be efficient with things, and effective with people. He creates a distinction and boils down the problems in personal life, family, churches, and businesses to lack of concrete value systems and a need for paradigm shifts. He then explains the habits necessary to make those necessary changes. This book and it's timeless message should be read and re-read. I plan to go back to it often and I am currently trying to implement the things that I have learned. Excellent read!

11. Easy to understand - Covey counts on people having the knowledge on how to apply his habits, but overall the advice is sound. Despite sounding a bit like a cult leader at times (I actually took the class that accompanies this book) he genuinely believes in his theories. Translating the habits into daily activity takes effort, but once done, positive change will happen. The writing is easy to understand and is well organized, and each chapter takes the time to explain its habit, which makes the book an easy read.

1. Excellent concepts for educators! - While this book’s examples take place in a corporate settings, I have found this book tremendously helpful as I endeavor to lead a small group of highly experienced Early Childhood Educators who are independently amazing teachers, but find it difficult to work as a team. I have learned a lot. I am a developing leader myself, and this provides some great insight into the dynamics of teamwork.

2. Love it - I was reading this book as it was recommended as a read for my Jack Welch masters program. I was also part of a new team at my company and was amazed as I read the book how it seemed as if he was describing my teams current struggles. After starting couldn’t stop reading because I was so intrigued as to how it would end… let’s say upon completion I was equipped with the tools to take back to my team for us all to utilize to become stronger together. I will be purchasing more of his books.

3. Another great book! Solid!!! - Had the pleasure of meeting the author this year at Dave Ramsey's EntreLeadership Summit in Dallas last May. What a great, knowledgable author. And a nice man too. Taught me about humble, hungry and smart in building a team from his first book which they gave us at the Summit. Love his writing style. Highly recommend especially if you own a business or are running a team.

4. Great read - As an active duty Marine, this book will help with developing a team. Marines are trained as a team and are taught to adapt and overcome. This book has just opened my eyes a bit more when it comes to encouraging conflicts for the better of the team. I recommend this book for any member of any team. Maybe this book will make the "Commandants Reading List" one day. SemperFidelis Gunny

5. Pleasantly easy to read and helpful. - I had to read this book for work and was worried it was going to be hard to get through. I was definitely wrong. I was hooked from the beginning and finished the book quickly. It's very helpful information and I really enjoyed the style he used to explain the subject. It's worth your time.

6. Enjoyable and insightful read - I am not a business professional, but anyone who gets even a quarter of the way through this book should be able to understand what a difference this book could mean to any team. Me? I'll use it for the band I work with. It can just as easily translate to a sportsteam, religios organization, or anyone who works with others in the pursuit of a vision.

7. Helpful for team-players - I enjoyed reading Dysfunctions of a Team because the book begins with a story about a fictional company, which made the concepts of the book easy to understand. After reading about the fictional story the book goes through the five dysfunctions of a team, and provides anecdotes, in a way the readers can then use for themselves. This is a good book for anyone that has to work with other people in his or her job.
