2. This is the Real Deal - If you want some actual actionable advice to grow your business, check this book out. Alex has a youtube channel that I’ve gotten tons of value. This book eclipses that. I can now see how and what to do to really make an impact in my business, I promise you will too if you send the time to digest and actually apply its knowledge. I’d also recommend listening to the audiobook while reading as well.

3. Knowledge and power. - They say knowledge is power, but what they don’t say is that if you don’t apply that knowledge you remain powerless all the same. This book is not designed to do things for you, rather it teaches you the principals behind human nature and how to benefit from what would inevitably seem obvious to anyone who is willing to apply the knowledge in this book. If you don’t believe that words can change your world for the better, then ask yourself, has there ever been something said to you that has made your day worse? If say someone has bad breath, they will brush their teeth. If you say someone is fat enough times, they will lose weight. If you tel someone that improving your business is possible and they LISTEN, their business will improve. Your job is to read and LISTEN to what is being said here. Give it a read, it’s motivating and inspiring. Don’t compare exact situations in this book to your own life but instead compare the general situations. Start - growth - Dream - Realization.

4. So Far, Really Good - It’s AM I’m on my porch drinking a coffee just woke up. Every morning I’ve been committed to reading this book or at least doing the best I can. I don’t come from money or family or friends that are successful. I’ve been doing my best to build my company, there’s fear ups and downs, and I find it really nice to be able to read his book and offer me insights that I feel are so valuable. I’m almost halfway done and I am one of those people one of those entrepreneurs that really wants to succeed. PS I want to help faceless entrepreneurs.

6. No Nonsense & Straight Forward - Great book! I read it along with the audio book, Alex has a great voice/personality, I also listen to his podcast; The Game. I’ve been doing marketing for years and this book I learned a lot. Do not be on the fence about buying it. It’s worth it but digest it whole. 1. Book Review - I am a student of the University of Baltimore and I am writing a review for this book for an assignment. Over all this was a pretty good read for, a little slow at times and at times was hard for me to want to keep up with, but for the most part had very useful information, especially for this day in age when things go viral quickly. In this book Jonah Berger talks about why things catch on or go viral in a sense. Jonah Berger outlines STEPPS which is an acronym for the steps he believes are the reasons of why things catch on and companies can use these to market their company and be successful with creating a buzz about their company or product. The STEPPS include, Social Currency, Triggers, Emotions, Public, Practical Value and Stories. Social Currency deals with how much people are talking about you and your brand. It is assumed that people should be talking about you, definitely in a good way to get the buzz going about you, your company or brand. Triggers are things that I someone hears them it makes them think of your company. For instance if someone says the word Apple, it is not only now associated with eating an apple, but apple the brand. The next is Emotions, what emotions does your company give off , what feelings do customers get when they hear or think of your brand ? Public means that no one is taking about you or your company if there is nothing out there for them to see. For instance a shirt that has the Apple logo will stand out and cause people to notice it. Practical Value deals with news you can use, basically how helpful is this to me ? How does this benefit me ? Stories deals with your product or idea having a story to it . People like to tell stories and if you have a good one it can benefit you in the long run.

2. Worth Reading - This book presented an interesting perspective on why things go viral. Some of the things added to the book may have been unnessecary to get his point across but the stories were somewhat entertaining and if the STEPPS framework is followed it should allow you to add valuable virality to your product.

This book almost serves as an example of one of his assertions, that a person who is winning will not push as hard as someone who is just barely losing and needs to prove himself. 2. Classic tips but some outdated - I thought the book was great and I really liked a lot of the classic disciplines it focused on. I did feel that some of the sales strategies are outdated and or could've been more carefully word to use with caution depending on your industry and/or culture. Customers buying behavior is always changing and a sales person's strategy must evolve with those changes. These are just some of the reasons why have the book stars. Overall I would recommend the book and thought it was a good read.

1. Would you like to waste your money and learn nothing? - Lacks real-world examples and images. Like similar titles, this book includes a list of principles, but gives fictional examples so generic they don’t apply to anyone’s situation. It propounds the importance of images in ads but doesn’t include photos, diagrams, etc. to illustrate its points. Maybe licensing real ads is cost prohibitive, but without actual case studies, what’s the point of writing such a book in the first place? Published years ago, but reads like something from the Madmen era. Only real value seems to be writing click-bait copy, which hopefully we’re beyond at this point.

1. Absolutely AMAZING but… - I love this book. It could be one of the best marketing books ever written. But I still give it stars… (although it does deserve another half star). The proposition that all (or almost all) of the decisions we make are based on status can’t be true. Sure some people can make decisions solely based on status but what if the best decisions we make never are? What if we were to market to that part of humans, the non selfish part? Would this work better? Idk..

The Why of Selling - The entire thesis of this book rests on one critical question. “Why should our customers buy from us over anyone else?” The approach to answering that question has evolved a lot over time. Price, Service, and Quality being the commonly belabored responses. This book presents an entirely new approach that dispenses with the routine thinking and asks you to stop justifying your costs and start challenging your customer’s assumptions. I believe the Challenger approach is the truest value based form of selling there is. I like to think of this methodology as Philosophically minded selling. It’s about bringing the “examined life” reflective thinking to the business world. Asking “why” at every discussion to get to the final cause and a more permanent solution. This approach is why I always ask people I interview what they are reading. I want to gauge their curiosity and intellectualism. What sets this book apart is that it can get the reader to challenger mindset if they are not there already. The authors do a great job of detailing out a framework across the chapters that helps you get into this method of engagement. All of the recommendations and findings are backed by rigorous study and data. The challenger mindset goes beyond sales. I found it most valuable in my consulting days. The key benefit being that we shifted how we were perceived by the customer, from “order takers” to “trusted partners.”

3. Excellent - I never read books (other than Harry Potter) but as I've recently started working in commercial real estate, and I'm a fan of Ryan's I thought I'd give his book a shot. It's full of real world examples from his career and, he goes over the tips and tricks he uses in his daily business. I can honestly say that if you're struggling in sales, this boo will help you. Definitely worth the read.

5. AMAZING!!!! - He completely took the cold and scary parts of sales and made it so sales can be a way to connect with others. 4. Just what I need as an author - I have written several books that have been published, and have another one coming out in months. A good friend recommended I read BUILDING A STORYBRAND, but I had no idea how it would apply to me as an author. Surprise— it was a total eye-opener! 5. Clarity is where it’s at. - This is a jem of a book. I work for a church and even though we don’t sell a product in any traditional sense I was able to learn a lot of things that apply to the non-profit world. Moving people from "here to there" is a a challenge for every leader and having a Story process is very helpful and speaks to us in a language we all can relate to. I’d highly recommend this book.

1. Fairly confusing - I grow tired of reading this book, the author writes sentences that seem like riddles. Idk if it’s the Queen’s English needing to be translated. How’s this for a psychological approach…translate the script into American English. When I got the book I was expecting to learn a new way of thinking, instead, I’ve accumulated loads of confusion. But I can’t get a refund now, so I’ll keep trying. That’s probably illogical, but then again, the book insists on being illogical to obtain great results in life. The confusion builds.
