1. Fantastic Read and has helped my business - Finally, I feel in control of my business and our financial situation. I’ve got to dig my way out of business debt but with this system in place I know we can do it. I only wish I would’ve read this book sooner. I now recommend this book to every person I know that is either currently in business or looking to start a business no matter the size. Finally, I’m helping pay my family’s bills and working on growing business too.

2. MUST READ - This is by far my favorite business book thus far. I read at least a book a week, and purely nonfiction, business, or development. Profit first has made a huge impact on my business life so far & I am so so so thankful that I found this gem. I am more confident & excited about my businesses future & no longer dreading and worrying about things to come. Living day by day & stressing. Thank you SO much for this book! I can not recommend it enough.

3. Game Changer - I came across mike michalowicz through Dave Ramsey solutions during our th year of business. If you take the time to read the book and apply the principles it will recharge you and your business! I always keep a spare copy of this book in my purse to gift to people I come across who are stressed or struggling with their business. I should also note that I didn’t think we were struggling in our business. I just had no idea how much better it could be!

4. For every business owner- new or years in! - This is probably the first business related book I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. The themes make perfect sense to me and are delivered in a way that is easy to understand and execute. I have been employing the principles for a month now and already see a huge difference in the financial aspect of my business.

5. LOVE it! - I have had this book on my to-read list for months. I finally started it and can’t get enough of it. I bought the audio version after hiring Mike on a podcast. Not only is it so much faster to get through, it’s easier to understand and Mike is very animated which makes it fun. I have implemented everything step by step that Mike instructs and feel as if I finally have someone on my side to help me with my business finances with the goal to grow it in the future. I am now able to understand how to be disciplined and manage the income I have, so that I can do bigger and better things with the income to come. Although the book talks a lot to the small companies makes $ million and under, I have a VERY small business (under $k) and the principles still apply. I wish more people knew about this way of doing things, because I am surrounded by entrepreneurs just like me who say “I’m hoping to increase my sales, because right now my business takes everything and I have pennies to live on.” This books transforms that way of thinking and helps you understand that it’s not the dollar amount coming in, it’s the what you do with those dollars. Thank you for this book Mike!

1. Very Useful - I highly recommend this book for anyone who seems to act as their own worst enemy. I know I did, and did not realize it until after I listened to this book on tape. After searching I Tunes for similar books, this book really stuck out to me because of the author's credentials. However, I found myself looking forward to learning more from Shirzad, since his content has helped me differentiate between the negative thoughts that would really bog me down from the constructive ways of thinking that have helped me in my personal and professional life. Shirzad's tone of voice is very comforting, and can enliven the "Sage" in any listener. Please listen to this book, and utilize this knowledge in your lives for your own happiness and success.

2. Inspirational yet Pragmatic: A Must Read! - What a gold-mine of a book! An extremely useful text for increasing performance, success and happiness. As the author states: much like Sisyphus--the mythological king who was forced to roll a boulder to the top of a hill every day only to watch it roll back down in the evening--our best efforts to achieve our goals or increase our happiness often unravel. Though we frequently try to attribute our failure to others or uncontrollable circumstances, Shirzad Chamine shows in this book that it's usually due to our own self-sabotage. Over the course of his engaging and incredibly pragmatic text, Chamine hammers home the point that though our minds are sometimes our best friends, they are often our worst enemies. He describes our minds as having both Sage and Saboteur powers, each corresponding to different regions of our brains: the PQ Brain (Sage) and the Survivor Brain (Saboteurs). The more we are able to activate our PQ Brain and our Sage, the higher our Positive Intelligence Quotient (PQ) becomes. Chamine uses numerous research and anecdotal examples to make a compelling argument that people and teams with higher PQ achieve more and are happier across all aspects of their lives. Through both his sound argument and a myriad of my own personal experiences, I believe it! The thing I love most about this book is how serious it is about affecting positive change. It's not some loose framework or a series of things to "think about." It's actually about giving the reader an accessible toolkit to improve the way they experience life, affect their colleagues, and pursue their goals. From tools like Sage Power Games to the Three Gifts Technique, Chamine presents easy-to-do, CEO-tested techniques that actually make a difference. In fact, I've been so pleased with his PQ Reps technique ( second intervals of returning my focus to my breath and five senses) that I've shared it with multiple of my fellow entrepreneurs, friends, and family. Chamine states at the beginning of the book, "I encourage you to have high expectations for this book...[it] can change your life and be a game-changer for your team. Please don't settle for anything less." I haven't settled and, thus far, it's been a terrific ride!

1. Superb writing! - This book had me on the edge of my seat, beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down. Carreyrou’s portrayal of Balwani made me abhor this stalwart bully . Elizabeth.... there was no room for sympathy, or even empathy, at the demise of her ‘dream’. How they used, abused and intimidated people is unimaginable. I only hope Carryrou does a sequel to this book to let us know what becomes of these two despicable crooks.

2. Bad blood is an amazing book - Reads like part spy thriller and espionage tale and it’s hard to believe it’s true- very sad so many patients and employees suffered and amazing so many supposedly smart business people were bamboozled. Too bad the non-believers’ warnings were ignored and praise to the whistleblowers- or who knows how far this farce would have gone. Carreyrou great author- describes medical terms do lay people can understand and structures book so that while a page turner and suspenseful - reader never gets lost. Bravo

3. Chilling corporate scandal exposed in the most gripping fashion - One of the few books which I could not put down once I started reading. Five stars from me for the narrative, exposing the truth and the technical details.I picked this book as it stood as an intersection of a major corporate scandal exposed in a thrilling way. I started reading it and finished it in less than days . The book highlights how important it is to stick to integrity, have the highest work ethics and be honest in everything which you do especially when you deal with patients and healthcare. Ian gibbons, Tyler Schultz and Alan Beam all stand as a testimony to do the right thing no matter in what situation you are in.John tried his best to provide both sides of the story which makes this book all the more grounded in reality

4. Thank you, John Carreyrou - Because of this book, I am now reading again. This book is amazing. The investigative effort uncovering fraud and deception sheds light on how to not perform under pressure and deadlines (Elizabeth Holmes should be permanently exiled from organizational leadership). Alternatively, John Carreyrou demonstrates how to ethically perform under pressure, quarterbacking a cross-functional effort that educates, entertains, and delights. Thank you very, very much. GBMV

5. Gripping, fascinating - Seriously could not put this book down for two straight days. While at times it can be a little confusing keeping straight all the various individuals at play in this sprawling real-life conspiracy, it is so satisfying to see how it all plays out. Genuinely shocking and TRUE story that I’d somehow never heard of...highly recommended if you’re a non-fiction or even a true crime fan...it seems like every detail is present in this account.

6. Gripping read - A wonderfully told true tale of megalomania and greed. The author did a great job in having the book read like a thriller. He’s also a great writer. I wish, though, there were more on Holmes’s psychology. While I appreciate Carreyou saying he’s not a psychologist, his consulting some experts on this sort of behavior would have strengthened what we readers take away from the immoral behavior of Holmes and company.

7. Bad Blood - The story of how an alluring and smart young narcissistic woman sociopath Elizabeth Holmes spun a personality cult around her concept of the ideal product that performed blood diagnostic medicine and how the rich and famous one by one fell to her allure to her spell by investing hundreds of millions of dollars on a company that never had a worthy technology capable of delivering on the wild and delusional dreams that were spun to them. No one with a serious medical or technical investing background ever performed any due diligence on the Compnay’s technology and secretly guarded product behind Theranos. If they had, this massive fraud would have been laid bare many years before the Wall Street Journal reporter in New York would have had to be the sleuth to slay the the lies that had by then snowballed into colossal proportions.

8. Interesting story, poor writing - For me, the most interesting part of this book by far is its main character. To do what she did at the age she did it is truly remarkable. The sheer audacity of it is mind-boggling. I wasn’t a fan of the author’s writing though. I thought at times he included irrelevant details about a person, at other times he put too much weight on his own perspective, and at other times put too much emphasis on what was basically hearsay.
2019-01-24
9. Gripping - As a longtime Silicon Valley viewer, and even participant in, the “reality distortion field,” I could not put this down. The tactics are familiar. But the ethical lines crossed here were stupefying and I commend the whistleblowers for sticking to their guns. The reputations of those who bullied and intimidated them I hope are forever tarnished. And a lesson for all: trust, but verify.
2018-11-07
10. Excellent - This read was great despite the disappointing, selfish and downright illegal actions of Theranos and it’s founder. At times the story read like it was made up it was so unbelievable! The entire time I could only think Elizabeth Holmes was the world’s best salesperson. Good for the honest people out there bringing this story to light especially with the harassment, scare tactics and personal costs. It’s a shame Elizabeth’s desires and wishes were not reality. What a game changer had it been!
2018-09-30
11. Excellent read! - I am a constant reader of many types of books. I am not a fan of this type of story but I saw the author on Jim Cramer’s show, “Mad Money” and , being in the medical field, it caught my attention. I am in awe of all that Mr. Carreyrou did to tell this story accurately. I could feel the fear and hopelessness of the people who were caught in Holmes and Sunny’s sites. Carreyrou acted as a true investigative reporter and professional by delving deeply and thoroughly into all parties and facts - leaving no stone unturned. After I finished the book I felt as though I was there as it happened. Started it this past Saturday and finished it the next day. Truly hard to put down. I can only hope this woman spends many years behind bars for all the lives she ruined and for the one that was lost. Thank you, Mr. Carreyrou for righting a grave wrong.

1. Tech Ventures: View from a Different Lens - In this engaging read, Thiel provides a unique overview on forces that allow for creation — and success — of a technology venture. A proclaimed contrarian, Thiel shows how seemingly contrarian views often fail to meet that very definition. A must read for every technology founder or enthusiast.

2. Entrepreneurs, Start-ups, & Innovators, please be advised! - I'm not going to say that this book is like the "New Testament" for Entrepreneurs or that it's brain (Thiel) is the "Jesus" whose scriptures finally give us a psychology we can use to believe in ourselves when the tides of doubt and ambiguity of the global economy come rolling in. I'm not going say that, because it's probably, at least, a bit of an overestimate even if it's how I feel. All considered, it is how I feel and I guess I already said it. I suppose another analogy I could offer is this: When those tides come rolling in and your ideas/ingenuity are fighting for their life just to keep treading, you should refer to this book. With it, your ideas/ingenuity and your perception of the world will gain the power, if I may, to walk on water. If you consider yourself an entrepreneur or innovator, please be advised! A newer, higher vantage point has been found. It is challenging and it is liberating. It is Zero to One.

3. Good book, Thiel has crafted himself a unique world view - Good book, Thiel has crafted himself a unique world view. In particular, I am fascinated by how he characterizes the state of the US conscience today as "Indefinite Optimism". From that discussion i think his main point is that we control our future. It's a subtle argument, but very important nonetheless. Thiel brings to light all the uncertainty of the future and the different ways people react to it. Only we can determine our future.

4. Enlightening - The author is a down-to-earth philosopher in the business world. He is not here to tell you the dry principles of how to make your business successful, but to enlighten you to embrace the challenge and create a new future. Achieving to N is a boring repetition but starting from to is a milestone! My words fail and try by yourself!

5. Inspiring - Before reading this book, I had never heard of Peter Thiel. After reading this book, I know who is one of the leading thinkers in America. Peter confirmed for me what I already knew. Making a better widget is not the answer, but rather imaging something that no one else has imagined and make that. Microsoft and Samsung are making fatal mistakes by comparing themselves to Apple. Their CEO's need to read this book. Thanks Peter and Blake.

6. Building the Future: A Manifesto - A main theme in the book is thinking for yourself and looking at the world from first principles. Only then will you be able to see undiscovered secrets (opportunities) in nature or in people to create a company that has no competition and can capture all the value of a market. Thiel goes into great depth and did a great job at explaining the correct mindset entrepreneurs must be in to create not only the next SpaceX, Facebook, and Google, but save the world as well. I cannot stress this enough, do not start or fund a business before reading this book.

If you can’t get your point across on one page don’t bother. Just saying.....

1. Changed my perspective. - I really have always wanted to be successful, in both life and money. I am currently in high school about to graduate and I want to be the next big thing, I want to drive that nice car and want people to adore me. But one chapter changed me forever, I won't say which for you may read it yourself and have your own opinion on it. But I don't want to be rich anymore, I'm already great at something and want to pressure it, who knows, I may get rich that way. But what will money do for me, I can buy thing yes, anything if I were rich. But that's it, I won't have friends that will always be with me, nor will I be happy with myself constantly having to work in my business. I'm fine witch being a "wage slave". Why? Because I'll still be me and could continue to be an influence in life no matter what. Being rich is probably cool, but I'd rather not waste my time on this earth trying to get rich or risking that, even if I succeed too much time would be wasted. You only have one life right? Many of you will still buy the book because you're desperate and you do you, but I'm not wasting time anymore. I'll just start reading books on social ideas and such, the stuff that actually makes us human. Good day.

1. Great Role Model. Great information! - Disregard the haters who have never taken the time to read this book . It’s / and Unfortunately, America is being destroyed by the current man in office and it’s NOT Trump. This book and just like Trump’s documentary, the wisdom and personality this man has, will make you think twice about the nonsense the haters have towards one of America’s best president. It’s context and strategies are good examples to follow. FJB

2. Yo - Hey, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, Biden wouldn’t have done any better. Trump is a good person trying to stop racism and fighting between people. He didn’t start Covid . In fact, he tried to stop it. Remember, people in China purposefully made covid and took the lives of so many people. But instead of looking at the bad in this world, look at the good all around us. Be kind to one another and be gentle. Treat each other like you want to be treated. Follow the Ten Commandments in the book of Exodus in the Bible and the golden rule. Be faithful to each other and remember that Jesus loves you.

3. The Best President who got us out of all wars.. We miss you already - I’m sorry Sir, You will go down as the best president this universe has ever seen. You got us out of all wars, and yet no one was there for you or us when it really mattered. You brought peace deals, trade deals, vaccines and more. We miss you already, and just so all of you know, We didn’t want to be right about the entire system being rigged, but now everyone knows, because when the world was obsessed about getting out of or , then spits on the leader who finally gets us out of ALL OF THEM, then we have finally learned the truth, EVERYONE is fake other than a VERY SMALL FEW. May God Forgive us for ignoring the blessings and allowing the nonsense to win over our people.

4. AMAZING BOOK for BUSINESS starters - Patience is KEY and Negotiation leads to SUCESS to any business strategy. This book tells you how he turned the money that his dad gave him and made it in BILLIONS. He teaches you STRATEGIES on how to get what you want from the power of determination. GREAT read for financial audience.

5. Lots of fake reviews - Seems as though there are lots of fake reviews by hateful and small-minded people who seem to think this is a place where you review the person and not the book itself. This book really helped me to get my finger on the pulse of negotiating in a business climate. Where so many books fail in their “you can do it!” mantras, this book provides helpful context and examples to follow in different scenarios. If the angry people actually read it, they would find the wisdom contained within is timeless and spot-on. Who would you trust for business advice, Trump, or some angry internet commenter?

6. Mein Kampf : Covfefe - If anyone wants to gain understanding of how Donald Trump thinks or acts, look at his Twitter feed. characters is too long for this man to formulate a complete thought so why should you want to read "his" book?
It's apparent that someone born into wealth and prestige needs very little to appear as if they have influence or made anything into an "art". Unfortunately for America, Dorito Mussolini will get the influence he truly wants thanks to a broken political system and toxic culture. On the other hand, he will be in history books and the name will become a legacy on how Western democracy allowed corruption at multiple levels. Children in the future will look at this man and their teachers will underline how vacuous this man was, along with how nothing in American society was safe from implication to drive his ego. So for all the bankruptcies and failed business relations Trump manifested, no one should be fooled into thinking this man wittingly created "the art of the deal". As for the book itself, save yourself the trouble of reading it. This was ghost-written and the man who wrote it despised having to be in Don's presence. In a way, Adolf's book would be more interesting to read and advocate since he actually wrote it and it's genuine. / would not read either and i'll give Trump / stars for actually stumbling into power, which is impressive to come from that much wealth and be so very stupid at the same time.

7. Pure Inspiration - Do you want to learn from a genius at work? Hop on board the Trump train and read this book. You'll see what it takes to win big in life and also see this winning style as we all now watch Donald J. Trump take on the world as President of the United States of America. Highly recommended and purely inspiring reading.

1. A life changing experience. - I have read hundreds of business and motivational books, but Delivering Happiness is truly my very favorite. I learned so much from this book that I am going to apply to my business. I am planning a trip to Vegas to tour Zappos and learn more about them. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to meet the founding fathers in person. That would be a dream come true for me! Basel Tarabein, Broker Owner

2. Life changing on a personal, career, or leader/owner level - I started reading the free sample and just got hooked! Finished reading in a few days - if you learn one thing only, it's what is your real goal and value in life? And what next after you get 'there'? Tony makes you think about many things whether it's your life, job, or relationship(s) around you? Thought provoking - life changing!

3. Good - This was a fast and enjoyable read - I really enjoyed his personal stories of entrepreneurship. Really quick: what annoyed me was all of the overused, meaningless expressions such as "Merriam-Webster defines fractal as..." and a lot of paragraph transitions that made this book read like a th grade English essay... That being said...I think the message was great and I'm glad that Tony wrote this and put it out there for the world to read.

4. BIG Thumbs Up! - Every now and then, we find books that when we pick up to read, we don't want to put down. This book is definitely one of those. You'll learn valuable lessons of sacrifice, honesty, friendship, purpose, and happiness. When you have all the chips and ask yourself "Now what?" This book paints a picture of an answer. Thank you Tony Hsieh and Zappos Team.

5. Good Ideas! - Would certainly recommend this book to anyone in the customer service industry! Tony seems like an interesting, fun guy and I really appreciate that the book wasn't ghost-written. Will definitely be applying his straightforward advice about building a brand through great service and focusing on internal company culture. Tony, shine on you crazy diamond!

6. Values and Culture - Tony inspires us by building an organization through clear values and a distinctive culture. Through this, he keeps to the promise of the book's title, Delivering Happiness! Who doesnt want to work in a organization which creates a strong emotional connection with its employees and customers? But how many of us actually do??? Hats off to Tony and Zappos.

7. Must read for anyone in business - After I finished this book, I had to ask myself why all companies don't operate this way,,,a simple concept (make customers and employees happy, the rest falls into place). This book proves that the old management style of forcing customer service and hammering employees is an out-dated, ancient concept that has seen it's time pass. This book has changed how I will search for a new career and what I look for in an employer...even if that employer ends up being me!

8. Read it, digest it, drive it - I have been in the retail automotive business for years, thru great times and some recent trying times. I read a lot and strive to have excellent customer care and culture, pressure and stress can take me off my game with culture. Why can't people just do what they say they are going to do? Business would be so easy. This book is an excellent book for provoking thoughts. I feel that my passion in life is to help other people grow, to connect them and to expose my family and myself to the fun things and great people in this world. Being a hotspot for happiness sounds like where I want to be; no one cares how much you know until they no how much you care.......I preach that and believe that, but this book has made me think about making sure I live it.

9. Great Book for anyone! - Thank you Tony for sharing your happiness with the world. It has been a great initiative to teach the rest of us to become happier. This book really makes you think about the importance of life and the pursue of what really matters. I will become part of your cult and try to find happiness and then deliver happiness to the world!

10. Delivering Happiness - I appreciate Tony's thirst for knowledge and life! Since I'm an entertainer, I was a little lost by all the business talk. But, if I ever have my own company, I'll revisit the book. I host a nationally syndicated radio show that pokes fun at people and uses colorful language to appeal to it's audience. I feel myself breaking away from that to embark on a new, exciting path similar to the path Tony has chosen. For now it's less pay, but so much fun and I'm so happy. This book has something for everybody. Terry Jaymes

11. Great, Easy, Purposeful Read - One of the better entrepreneur authored books I've read in a long time. The narrative is smart and insightful, but also incredibly REAL. Tony has done a magnificent job of understanding his customers and the people that engender their loyalty on a daily basis. Thanks for sharing, man!

12. Awesome!! - I loved it! Tony has inspired me to fully embrace happiness all around. It sparked so many types of opportunities not only in my work life but personally & professionally. As a young entrepreneur, I have my own types of values not only to my customers but my friends and family... It's a must read for anyone getting into business or just about life in general!! Cheers!!

13. Add this to your library - This is a thought provoking account of Zappos rocky rise to the top. It's filled with honest and inspirational stories of hardship, triumph, mistakes, successes and lessons learned by the leadership behind Zappos. For all of my admiration of Zappos as a customer, this book deepened my respect for the company. As a small business leader, rooted in Human Resources and focused on how to instill a great company culture, Tony's account generated tons of new ideas. 14. Someone in love with himself - Surprisingly i had some money on my pay pal account, so i decided to try out, buying and reading a book with my iPad. I didn't really care about the perfect book, just wanted to try. Well, after the first pages, I have to say, I don't see this " delivering happiness" . It's just a guy, I admit he accomplished a lot, who is in love with himself. So go ahead, clean yourself, I got better things to do.

1. King Larry - I was a pilot for Continental Air Micronesia based on Guam , over the years I got to know Larry . He was a strange duck , liked the younger ladies etc etc but with all his faults he was one heck of a great businessman . This is a really good book about Larry , the research was outstanding . The lawyers that were involved in his estate were just a bunch of hungry scum bags .! This is a good read. Rip King Larry.
