1. Pleasantly surprised... - I was pleasantly surprised by Operation Fortune. The snappy Guy Richie dialogue was rapid fire and the acting first rate. Hugh Grant absolutely steals the show as billionaire Greg who pulls of being smarmy and yet he's too arrogant and smart to be dishonest. His fan boy love of “movie star” Josh Hartnett is hilarious and still believable. The movies entire cast keeps the focus away from Jason Statham, in a good way. Though I’m a fan of Statham - Crank films etc, Statham’s charisma works best in specific scenarios. He’s used perfectly. The only minor complaint I have is the character of Sarah played by Aubrey Plaza. She only speaks ironically - kind of a Ryan Reynolds thing. It took me away from any believability in her character. But pound for pound, Operation Fortune is a great addition to Guy Ritchie’s top list in his impressive filmography.

1. Even the most angry can find happiness from dedicated friendship - First let me say I enjoy the characters that Tom Hanks plays, so I’m a bit jaded. I did not read the book so I watched with no real knowledge of the story. The role of Otto unfolded as one might expect for this character, but the addition of a new neighbor could have gone a variety of ways. However the tenacious nature of her kindness wins out, and that was refreshing given Otto’s determination to leave this world. The power of love and kindness prevails throughout and the good feelings this movie leaves you with hits the mark for leaving the theater satisfied. While suicide should never be taken lightly, ever, Otto’s attempts were amusing enough to keep the movie in the light rather than the darkness that is so prevalent with thoughts of suicide. His grief is eventually replaced with purpose, and again keeps the movie in the light. The soundtrack was extremely important to conveying the scene’s meanings. I liked it so much, that I’m listening to it as I write this. I have read some of the comments about this movie, and while I may not agree with them, I respect their views and opinions. For me I was entertained, found some new music, was reminded it takes work to be a good neighbor, and lastly Tom Hanks and his lovely wife Rita delivered. Thank you!

Just average - The story is written well but with a sort of diverging plots coming together into the forest for their own specific reasons and doing all the dumb things characters would do in a horror movie but with a bear instead (which is done intentionally). The problem is there just isn’t enough to go off of, it’s really just about a cocaine eating bear killing people. There are some funny moments mixed with gore moments. But it isn’t particularly funny, I wouldn’t consider this movie a full comedy. All in all there’s a good cast attached, it’s worth a single watch and that’s about it. I’m glad I didn’t see this in theaters wasting $- but it is worth a home watch.

Hated This Movie When I Heard About It, Hate It Even More Now - When I heard about “Cocaine Bear” shortly before its release to theaters last month, I immediately hated it because of the title because I knew it was gonna be awful. 4. Definitely not all it's hyped up to be. - I generally love the movies with the alternate universe, mind-bending, look at things from a new perspective type movies... but this one was just WEIRD. It felt like they threw things in just for the shock, sex, or "toilet humor" value and not because it did anything for the story. Depending on who lists the film it's referenced as Sci-Fi or Action Adventure ... and while there are elements of those things in there, it should have been listed more as comedy and I'd probably stomach it more, but it was honestly just really odd and definitely NOT a movie I thought should win oscars - not even close. 7. Total Non-Sense - I haven’t seen a worse movie in years. TRUST ME. No idea how they have all those star reviews - must be from everyone who had anything to do with its production. I purchased it based on this totally false reviews. I forced myself to watch halfway then I simply could not go further - gave up. Alot of "stuff" does not a good movie make. - It has it's moments where potential shows up, but usually it's short circuited by uninspiring randomness or unecessary vulgarity disguised as 'brilliant artistic inspiration'. This may please the hyper neurotic brain of many phone app addicts, but a movie about nothing that barely slides by on some cute moments and adrenaline is nothing more than a juvenile fever dream. Putting a bow on it at the end with a generic "family is all you got" theme doesn't make it worth the sex toys and not so subtle insinuations of insult. Hard pass for anyone looking for a family friendly popcorn flick.

3. Good premise terrible execution - They sunk too deep into the premise. If you take out the whole CIA story line and just have Nick Cage rediscovering himself through this fanboy millionaire then you have a fantastic movie. But all of that was lost in the CIA story line and the constant “WINK WINK GET IT”-ness that you were constantly bombarded with makes of a very bad movie.

4. This is a good movie, slow at times, but pretty funny... - Remember that this is a spoof and not to be taken seriously. This is a four star movie, but the ending just made me laugh way too hard...the Demi Moore camio at the end was PERFECT...LOL Just don't try and make sense out of everything, and you'll enjoy it....the part where they took acid was just plain dumb and almost made me stop the movie, but im glad i got through it...extremely entertaining!

5. A Fun and Entertaining Film! - This movie really is everything I thought it would be from the previews. And that’s a good thing! I love how Cage just completely embraces the internet meme caricature of himself and just runs with it! And the on screen chemistry between Cage and Pascal is excellent! Honestly the only thing the movie left me wanting more of is the zany buddy moments. Both Cage and Pascal knock it out of the park.

Unity is something we’ve needed for decades, centuries… Hans Christian Anderson once said “ where words fail, music speaks”. As a member of Gen X I’ve enjoyed some of the best years of music ever. These movies are about friendship, love and unity through music. Think about live aid, how many people United for a cause and for each other with music? The end of face the music actually made me emotional, because I love music and I remember all the times it brought me and my friends together.

4. Sorta in the middle - It’s not the worst movie ever but it sure isn’t the best either. As for the Pros - I think Alex Winters really made this movie his own, he picked up the character after all these years without a problem. Also the gals that played the daughters did very well and were likable. Liked some of the returning minor character and some of the callbacks (Station!). Now to the Cons - I felt that Keanu was asleep the whole movie, just flat, it was quite jarring. The depictions of the future felt so different than it was depicted in the first two movies. Hell also felt so different as well. Rufus’s daughter was grating, was hoping being his daughter she would have the same feeling of coolness that George Carlin brought to the roll. Finally that ending... first the “Song” was just not that good, especially compared to the “Song” at the finale of Bogus Journey (God Gave Rock & Roll to You), just didn’t feel that epic. Then the movie just ends, would have liked there to be something to tie it off like a scene with both of them in their families all playing music in the garage (tying it to the first scene in the first Bill & Ted) making it a note this is a personal story about a family coming together, have the camera pan out and to credits.

6. Worth it! - I won't claim this was as good as the first film, but it was up there, with more of the feel of the first one, and much better than the second one. (I'm rounding up to stars… Realistically, I'd say ..) Not quite what I would have guessed or expected, but it's a good and satisfying end to the series. It was definitely worth my time and money. (I figured the $ cost to buy right when it came out was still the equivalent or cheaper than watching it in a theater the first time and then buying it when it was released for home video.) Bill & Ted aren't a lot smarter in their older age, but they did a good job making the characters develop a bit more thoughtfulness and introspection with their age and experience. It's nice to see that you don't have to be smart to be a good person and to make a difference. It's also good to see how they handle the conundrum of knowing they're destined to save the world but having no idea how to pull it off, no matter how hard they try. I enjoyed Keanu Reeves' and Alex Winter's performances, as well as the rest of the cast. I like how they worked in Bill & Ted's daughters, Billie and Thea, and Rufus' daughter, Kelly; and those actors gave really good performances. We also see that the future isn't completely sure, perfect, or all-knowing; and the humanity we see there works well in the story. Really good film, and I definitely recommend it if you liked at least the first one. MINOR/PARTIAL SPOILER FOLLOWS After all the hype before this movie was released, about "The Song" that was going to save everything, I was really worried that they were going to try to actually have the song in the movie that supposedly saved everything. I thought that would be a huge mistake, since no actual single song could ever live up to that expectation. They basically did include it, but I was glad that they pointed out that it was never actually about the song itself. (What it WAS all about… I won't spoil, but it's not hard to guess, at least roughly. The fun is in seeing how it all came together.) So that wasn't disappointing, in case you're worried about it like I was.

8. A bit disappointing... - I love Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure!!! I never really watched Bogus Journey, it was a bit too weird for me. I was sooo excited for this movie. So, we went to watch it and...it was funny but I was disappointed. There was something off about this movie, it lacked the charm of the original. First of all, I don’t like all the supernatural stuff they added, it doesn’t fit with Bill and Ted. Then, some of the things were just sorta weird. It’s not all bad though. I liked Billie and Thea. I definitely did laugh in some scenes. So, watch it and judge for yourselves. Overall, some of it was funny, but it was mostly a disappointment. It did feel a bit rushed. They could’ve done so much more. But it didn’t quite feel like Bill and Ted.

2. wow - just saw this and holy mercy it is the best baseball movie ever. for those watching with younger kids, there is some language. for writing geeks, it does not have a well developed storyline (meaning, it didn't really follow the rules of the whole rising action, climax, falling action thing). but! that can be ignored. i didn't notice it till afterwards. the humor and suspense covers all that up tho. SPOILER the parts with the most suspense always turn out happy, so younger kids won't have something to scar their little eyes forever. i will say, though the writers didn't follow the regular story-writing path, they did a very good job of balancing everything out. there's a little bit of everything in this movie. literally amazing. i cannot stop raving about this.

4. Fantastic family comedy - A great movie about a group of kids who come together for their love of a favorite outdoor pastime for many children. A fantastic job is made of taking you back to that pastime and setting the stage for what will become a story to share (and is shared) for years to come. The nervousness of being a new kid in the neighborhood and the fun that is made in making the newcomer ‘feel welcome’ and part of this little misfit family, the solidarity that is formed in resolving the issue that comes from inexperience and resulting lifelong connections are all on display in a plain and obvious and simple format for all to love. No character building! The characters are introduced and their wonderful little individuality and quirks are readily on display and loved. Most anyone can relate here. This movie shows the disconnect between ‘critics’ and real movie watchers. Critics are movie ‘snobs’ who are invested in making sure that other snobs don’t chide them for properly reviewing a movie. No account is taken when thinking of the middle-of-America average movie watcher.

7. One of the greatest family/comedy sports movie - I personally love the sandlot. The sandlot is such a hilarious funny movie of all time. I used to watch it a lot when I was a very little baby. I have so many memories about the sandlot. There is a lot of great memorable moments in the film you can ever imagine. Tom guiry, Mike vitar, Patrick renna, Brandon Adams, victor diamatta, and James earl jones were so amazing in the movie. Everyone of the kids were absolutely young because they were kids. I think Mike vitar was probably years old in the sandlot in . Tom guiry was probably or years old. There is such a true heartwarming story about a boy named Scotty smalls who moves to the neighborhood and he wants to make some friends by playing baseball at the sandlot and of course there's this big dog at the neighbors house and they think it's a beast. The sandlot is such a true sports classic.

1. Extraordinary - Utilizing pinball as a metaphor for life, but not in the usual indie-movie drag out way with awful writing and acting. This one is a charmer, with great characters and outstanding writing. Just enough humor to keep it fun, and with perfect comedic timing, but just enough drama to make you care about the people. There isn’t a huge amount of pinball in the movie, after all it is a biopic of Roger Sharpe, but the movie never drags at any point. If you’re a pinball fan like me, you’ll love this movie. If you aren’t, I can’t imagine you wouldn’t still like the film.

Cliche as hell buf really horrible in scale - Pixles i was expecting this movie to be a steeming pile of retro-CGi sparkle garbage and i was wrong this movie is utter waste of time, Adam Sandler may be a hitter miss actor but believe me he is in some good movies and when he is in good movies or bad ones he tries to be the comedic relif main character but sometimes falis. Pixles is so cliche and over the top dull between character development and visual effects for the acrade monsters. The plot is very low on substance because it's your regular video game adapation plot that surpasses the level of games and not funny jokes. I won't recommend Pixles if you like the acrade monsters that are protrayed in the film than fine it's a movie for a video game lover and Pac-Man was the only thing i liked about this film so game over.

2. Not quite... - Let me say first I am a fan of Damien Chazelle and I went into this with high expectations and of course hoped it would be great. And it wasn't. Despite the scale and spectacle, and a couple of great set pieces, the movie was confusing and tonally all over the map. At times, it kind of felt like Chazelle was himself making sport of what he was creating and it didn't really work for me. Some key moments are also telegraphed so obviously that it takes away from them. I did like the performances overall, especially Diego Calva. But the gross-out stuff finally kind of killed it for me. 4. Interesting movie - Hollywood seems to be going through a “homage” phase, making movies about old Hollywood. I enjoyed the look into the silent movie era; that part was interesting—great music and acting. By the end, I think the writers and director didn’t know how to finish the movie. In many ways, the film seems like one big advertisement for Hollywood. But by the end, I wasn’t sure what the takeaway was. The overarching theme seemed to be that people in Hollywood end up miserable. All this to say, the first half was good, and that’s about it. These homage films aren’t that great, like Hail Caesar or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, etc. They’re long, drawn-out movies about why Hollywood is great. But there’s no story and no compelling reason to care once the movie ends.

5. Overrated - I thought it was decent. Worth a watch, and it certainly held my attention for longer than most movies. Most of the actors were excellent, including the young woman as the main character. Cinematography and locations were great. Script was pretty good, and I enjoyed the score. But when it ended, I felt like it was TLJ all over again- contrived ways to throw the viewer off the real plot, exaggerated elements that are too convenient just to make story pieces fit together in ridiculous ways, and my god that accent by Craig was hard to hear. 2. One of the worst movies ever made - Not a comedy, not a tragedy, mostly a farse. I plot that was so lame one wonders who actually wrote it (artificial intelligence)? Disgusting scenes of people vomiting, or sewage spewing out of toilets. Poor acting all around, short of the captain, but he was always drunk anyhow. It looks like the production ran out of money, so the ending is abrupt and absurd. I would recommend you save your money and watch something else instead.

3. Tedious - I give it a second star for the funny seasick scenes and the moderately clever juxtaposition of power dynamics once on the island. However the first half of the film is a death march / slog to get through, and whatever redeeming qualities the second half of the movie may have are nullified by the stupid ending of the film. Ironically the film itself winds up being an unintentional statement regarding artsy faux-intellectual directors that parallels the film’s theme. I’m not even that mad about the $- I paid for the rental; but I am sore over the / hours of our lives my wife and I can never get back. I will make it a point to avoid any film involving Director / Screenwriter Ruben Ostlund or, for that matter any other film that similarly “wins” the Palme d’Or award in the future.

4. Great film - The one star reviewers obviously have no sense or appreciation for social irony and comedic elements that are brilliant in this movie. Yes it's long and a little slow, but the acting, cinematography, and originality of the plot are why it's up for an Oscar. The dark humor is hilarious imo. 6. Triangle of sadness - Whoever said this was the funniest movie he had ever watched must have been on a powerful drug. Terrible movie. Not funny. 7. Spectacular - Yes, it’s not for everyone, but this film has a lot to say. The theme of the triangle works on a variety of levels. For starters, you have this “triangle of sadness”, referring to the facial composure of a male model; you begin to see that the director/screenwriter is hinting at the triangle of social hierarchy. It’s essential viewing whether it’s comfortable or not.

1. Not as good as it is made out to be. - Given the high praise that this movie has received, and the fact that I love comedies, this movie was so disappointing for many reasons. Writing: Had I known that Ben Stiller also served as one of the writers for this movie, I might have lowered my expectations. I have seen some good movies of his, like Night at the Museum, but this movie did not even make an effort to make witty or clever jokes. C- Acting: Like the writing, the acting was also uninspired. Most of the actors seemed to just be phoning it in. However, I was quite surprised by Tom Cruise, since I was not even aware that it was him until the end credits rolled. Another of the better performers was Robert Downey, Jr., who made the most of his character. Other than that, nothing really stands out. C Entertainment Value: With such a script, and with a relatively short runtime of minutes (which felt like hours), it is very unlikely that I would willingly sit this one out again, let alone recommend it to anyone else. C- Final Veredict: Taking the aforementioned factors, in addition to other factors as well, Tropic Thunder is a surprisingly and rather unenjoyable comedy. D

2. So Crazy, It's Hilarious! - Has Hollywood really run out of ideas? Because Ben Stiller brings us a hilariously original satire of Hollywood. Basically, it’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back set to the backdrop of filming a war film based on an in-movie book. They waste no time establishing the characters through fake ads for their products and films before getting to the movie. We open with the aforementioned fake ads before the logo of the studio behind this film, which feels jarring, but is oddly unique, and the pacing stabilizes sooner rather than later. We then get right to the shooting of the war movie that ends with a botched scene and falling a month behind schedule in five days. We meet our cast here: Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller), Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.), Alpha Chino (Brandon T. Jackson), and Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), none of whom can really do what director Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan) asks of them, resulting in a new type of filmmaking: planting cameras in the jungle, and making the actors do their thing by creating a more realistic environment. What follows after the director is blown up by a landmine is a rip roaringly hilarious tale of Hollywood actors getting a more real taste of war than dressing up and playing soldier in front of a camera could ever get them. Each member of the group has their moment, especially one between Alpha Chino and Kirk Lazarus that addresses the blackface controversy by having Alpha say what’s on a lot of viewers’ minds. To be clear, RDJ is not trying to play a black guy: he is playing a white guy cast as a black guy who surgically alters his skin to accommodate the role. He doesn’t wear blackface to mock the race, but to mock the use of blackface in movies, because fun fact: early films with black characters sometimes had white actors do just that, such as in Birth of a Nation from . There’s a whole lot of stuff that shouldn’t make sense in this movie, but this is an over-the-top world, so just roll with the laughs. They aren’t trying to force this believable world on us, just doing what the story asks to make fun of Hollywood and have a good laugh at it. My only complaint would be some cheap effects, and not ones that were part of the movie shoot within the movie. I think they were supposed to be that way, but I feel like they forced too much out of that. Otherwise, everything else goes down for a reason, keeping this film from being a sequence of incoherent babble and laughter. Another great way they keep the audience engaged is through Theodore Shapiro’s soundtrack, which captures the wild nature of the big action sequences with electric guitar tunes I just can’t help but laugh at with the scenes they’re paired with. Tropic Thunder brings the laughs in every darn way possible, with sailor language and dirty jokes throughout. They have fun while making fun at the same time.

4. And Tom Cruise Redeems Himself - I take back anything bad I ever said about Tom Cruise. He should have gotten an Oscar for his portrayal of Les Grossman. This movie is on the cutting edge of creativity by any standard, especially when compared the garbage that Hollywood continues to regurgitate on a regular basis. I can honestly watch this one over and over. Truly a gem in the rough.

2. It Was Alright... - This was a movie that I thought would be really good, so a few friends and I went to go see it. There were some funny moments, like the Sausages (you know, those sausages that race around between innings at Brewers games). But I left the theater wishing it had been a better all around movie. I don't really know what else to say... except I did think that it was cool how the baseball team came back to get rd place in the National Leauge Central Division (hahah I find that funny, because the Cubs had nd place... of course, Cardinals in st). Overall, I wouldn't buy this from iTunes unless you have seen it before and you know you like it. If you haven't seen it, rent it first, and then decide if you want the iTunes movie.

2. Fun but shallow - Feels a bit like Ready or Not but not as good. It's well staged and very formal with interesting characters and a clever idea but in the end kind of simple and not as deep as it's pretending to be... maybe that's intentional and it's an additional meta critique, I dunno. I love to see the rich get their just desserts as much as any other comrade, but it just felt like there should be... well, just something more to it. Anya Taylor Joy was very entertaining and a lot of the scenes are certainly startling and violent, but if you think you know how it's going to end less than halfway through the movie, you're probably right. Any twist comes early in the film and it doesn't really deviate after that. I enjoyed it, I just wish it had been more filling.

7. Willy Wonka and Clue Meets Hells Kitchen - I bought this movie from Amazon and watched it tonight and it was surprisingly very good. The plot is horror Willy Wonka and Clue in an isolated restaurant where several wealthy people who all were invited to a lavish meal prepared by a mad chef who is sadistic and somewhat jealous of these people because of their status and his belief that they have failed and exploited him in his career. The entire movie was filled with suspense from start to finish and kept me on the edge! The violence is not too graphic (except for a scene when one of the cooks kills himself) but there’s a lot of cussing so be prepared if you don’t like bad language. I would definitely watch it again!

No. But it killed some time and I am glad I watched it. As someone who must find meaning in almost everything I do, I did find meaning in this movie. 6. Thanksgiving classic? - For whatever reason, while I watched this movie, all I could think of is my family gatherings at Thanksgiving. Just all the craziness and personality conflicts with the sub current of family love. Couple that with a recent death in the family and it fits like a glove. Very very very much worth a rental. The film is based on the novel by Jordon Belfort a rich high man in the world of Wall street who was a suito celebrity in the process of wall street journals and stockbroking business deals. Although The Wolf of Wall Street is highly controvestional because of it's use of methond drugs and sequences of sexaul content that arouse througnt the entire movie it happens because that's what it was like in Wall Street. Leonardo DiCaprio gave a fantastic performence as Jordan Belfort and despite the film's hour runtime Leonardo DiCaprio manages his steaks to make this movie really entertaining and high quality viewers who think Wolf of Wall Street is dumb and to strict on subtance that you won't have a good time. It's a story told well by the persective of Jordon Belfort as he makes a stockmarket right out of Wall Street, Martin Scorsese's managed to create the impossible with this film with may challenging possibiltes of dirty and business modeling for the audience to root for all the characters and hailrious momments that will leave people speechless and want to do more in life. In my opinion The Wolf of Wall Street is the greatest movie to ever decpite a rich businessman who went into great lenghts to be rich and win over wall street and i thinkt that no other movie will ripp this off because this movie is so important and a must watch for many amatuers and film critics throughout. I highly recommend this film it's hailrious and impressivly entertaining to watch even if Leonardo DiCaprio gives a speechless performence this film is still my personal favorite.

2. DiCaprio portrayal of Jordan Belfort % - John Belfort was a piece of sht... and DiCaprio nailed him perfectly. If you’ve ever seen an interview and or read any material having to do with Belfort (the real wolf of Wall Street) you’d know he portrayed him exactly as he is. A careless, drug addicted thug in a suit! These performances are brilliant. I’ve never seen DiCaprio in a role I was disgusted by, and this was it.. his acting skills were so top notch that I was repulsed by him as I watched this film in its entirety. / Scorsese nailed it out of the park.

3. Well Done Dark Comedy - First of all, this movie is clearly for adults. The frequent use of drugs, sex, etc. is part of the entire concept of the protagonist's greed/addiction etc, so it's not really fair to critcize that. It balances seriousness and comedy well. DiCaprio's acting is excellent. I'm adding this to my list of favorite movies.

4. What I expected to be! - Every negative review is misdirected. The critics say “too much nudity”, “too much sex and drugs”, “no plot”, etc. Well... Do you know who Jordan Belfort is? That was his life amongst many other things, such as success and corruption on Wall St. This was a great movie, sticking to the plot which was Mr. Belfort’s life, starring one of the greatest actors of all time: Leonardo DiCaprio.
