1. Friends are friends forever - Overall pretty good movie it’s really a budding road trip movie with older ladies and the Super Bowl ad a back drop it was great ti see Brady in this as well as gronk! The review that said it was trash most likely didn’t see the movie but rather a hater of the Patriots so you can not take their word ot was not as funny as it could’ve bee but still was funny enough though I think the moral of not giving up on life because of your age abs to value the life long friendships you have is more of this movie is about

1. Classic ’s - It’s hard to explain this movie by today’s standards but if you were a “mainstream” media-loving teenager when this came out in the late ’s, it surely had an impact. It was my last two years of high school when this came out and I remember people quoting the movie or referencing parts of it. Overall the movie itself is a / but bonus points for nostalgia, a good soundtrack and amazing cast. If you were around when this movie came out then you likely know how great this cast was. As an aside, I have no idea why iTunes removed this and didn’t have it for so long only to bring it back. I am pretty sure I had already purchased it and went to watch it one day and it wasn’t there. A good reason to keep your receipts and contact support if this happens to you.

1. It's not even sexy anymore! - Alright people let's get this straight Fifty Shades Freed stinks at every level i mean this franchise is worth not telling to audiences and women alike. I understand Women like this movie because the main character is hot and they can live the fantasy of in a good relationship, love and money of course! Freed dosen't live up to the hype and the worst out of the series all of the romance and chimestry is godawful. I don't care if they payed $ to make Jamie Dornan naked what a embrassment he should be framed and frauded so yeah live the dream woman you like hot men got watch this movie i don't like it.

2. why? - i’m seeing so many bad reviews, yes. the movies can be better of course, but they weren’t horrible. personally i don’t like dakota as ana. they could’ve gone for ashley benson. the chick was obsessed with wanting dakota’s role. the movies, however, weren’t bad at all. i liked it. again they could improve cause they missed A WHOLE LOT of scenes. but we can’t change it. so we must put up with what the crew chose. so i think they did the best they could.

3. Honestly I love it - To begin I really loved all of the movies from shades. I honestly think you’ll only love it if your into that stuff. I love the fact that the second movie was when it got things prepared for this last movie, other wise it would of been all just about sex which gets boring don’t eat me wrong though.

4. A Study on Love When it Works! - Yes it may be a little "surface" but just like the Twilight series, its intent is to draw us in with the elixir of human desire between a guy and girl and balance it with true romance. So many of these reviews must be written by bitter, poisoned souls who either lack or have given up on love. Please see it through romantic eyes. If not, then why did you watch it in the first place?

5. garbage - those that gave it stars are simply proof positive that many many people out there have no earthly idea what quality story telling or movie telling is. This was awful from start to finish, like the other . Bad acting, no chemistry between the characters, ridiculous plot lines, boring, not sexual or sensuous given the story matter.... just all around bad. Don't waste your time or money. I'm also beginning to wonder how many Apple employees are asked to write reviews for movies, mainly those that get hammered by the critics and are really bad, given the fact that many reviews here (and they just happen to be some of the star reviews) are posted on dates when the movie has barely been out in the theater for long and definitely hasn't been released on itunes yet. What a bunch of garbage

6. So emotional - Omg I got super emotional when they were fighting about the baby! It seems all to true in real life. Though when Mia got taken away I thought Anna should have told Christian what was going on, it would have made no difference, but I get the theatrical reasons, and why they did it that way. Love this move though.

7. These reviewers must be high - There’s nooooo way in the world anyone who honestly saw this movie actually enjoyed it. It was all over the place, anti climatic, and boring. It doesn’t in no way compare to the first two at all!! If you didn’t pay to go see this, like I didn’t, seriously save your money.

8. This movie was STUPID... - ... plot was all over th place, absoultely no direction with the characters, silly and BORING, lacking chemstry between the main characters, dull, pointless and STUPID. It was horrendous... I didn't red the books but my word if they are anything like these movies (especially this disaster) then steer clear.

1. Um......... Worst movie of ! - don't watch this. It's not sexy, it's not hot or even women or young woman like these movies because the main character Christian Grey has a lot of money and is handsome and hot that's all what a women should need i don't need this crap iam not a woman iam a film critic and film critics don't watch two married couples making out it's STUPID.

2. Surprise!!! NOTHING LIKE THE BOOK - This movie was nothing like the book not a surprise since the first movie was nothing like the book either. I was hoping that during this movie the author and the screenwriters would get back on track and capture love story between Ana and Christian. That was completely lost during the first movie.
2018-05-15
3. Doesn't do it for me - As a lover of the books and somebody who's read them multiple times each I was very disappointed by both movies. Not only way the screen play awkward and slow but the actors chemistry is dead. Plus seeing Jaime Dornan as Christian just doesn't fit the part. In the books he's a masculine drop dead gorgeous hunks (or at least in my mind) not so much in the movie though. Then there's the issue with his acting for the character. He didn't do him justice. Christian is a very misunderstood, emotionally abused character and when he finally opens up to Ana about his thing with touching he just blow its off for the rest of the movie like it's no big deal. I was excited for these movies to come out because I fell in love with the love story but I'd prefer if they just stayed as books. They are good for a laugh on screen though.

4. Thin Plot, Not Horrible Tho - This movie has an incredibly thin plot, like a romance novel, and it's very light on the sex, considering what it should have been like (based on the book). But it's not the worst movie ever made. I actually smiled through most of it. The stars do have chemistry and their relationship is more believable in this sequel than in the first one. I think all the haters of romance movies should stop reviewing romance movies. It's really not terrible - and there are violent or car chase movies that are much worse out there that people love for no reason that I can see.
2017-07-15
5. The worst movie ever made - I cannot believe the world has lowered itself to rock-bottom so evilly. I am years old and a Catholic. The idea of sex out of marriage. . . I don't need to watch this movie and I swear I never will. If I wasn't Catholic I would tell the cast, crew, viewers, raters, etc to burn in hell. But instead I will pray for them, for they need that more than anything else.
If you're looking for something good to watch, find a documentry on Saint Maria Goretti. She was a year-old girl who's neighbor demanded to have sex with her. She refused and he stabbed her times, killing her. A real person and a real hero.
Saint Maria Goretti, pray for us!
God help the people who make the decisions of watching Fifty Shades of Grey and it's sequel.

6. Working Girl - So, I love old movies and I'm watching Working Girl with Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford when it gets to the end of the movie and Tess (Melanie character) finds out the she has her own corner office. Her new secretary ask her to lay out the ground rule and Melanie's character says " I expect you to call me Tess, I don't expect you to get me a cup of coffee unless your getting yourself some to, and the rest will go along with from there" So deja vu, where have I heard that from. I'm wrecking my brain trying to think, and light bulb . Anna says the same line after Jack gets fired and she's in his office with the other secretary. Seriously I wasn't all that happy about this movie, but stealing lines from old films, give me a break. I hope for the rd movie they stick more to the book.

7. Making sense - It is a continuation on the fifty shades grey and I'm beginning to understand the whole story with the fifty shades darker. I like it when Christian is becoming more normal and falling I love with Ana. it is mKing sense why Mr. Grey is a little sexual and perverted. lol I love the movie!

1. Digestible mix of reality and truth - If you really evaluate what being a Quad is like this only gives you the good or best side and some of the outcomes or possibilities. The day to day bodily necessities are touched on ever so briefly and did not totally explore the phantom pains and medical requirements of life in the chair. The love story part is great. The giving caring part of Lou’s character is something all care givers share. They are remarkable people . One man’s decision effected a lot of people. One woman’s loving caring ways changed things. If even only for awhile. And whatever side of assisted suicide you are on for whatever your reasons you are entitled to have that opinion while most of you walk and carry on a normal ambulatory life style. But what if….

2. Pointless. - Went into this with high hopes, but way to turn a movie that could have good, life understanding meaning, into a complete and utter waste of time. I’m pretty sure those whoever gave this movie a good review must have a screw loose. It may not have a happy ending, but way to miss the point on life and what it has to offer.
2022-11-05
3. Promoting suicide - I wanted to write a review to let people know this is not happy movie. It ends with the main male character ending his life. I'm not a religious person so my point of view of suicide isn't based on that whole angle. I would say that suicide is purely a selfish act. This movie or story tries to say that its not suicide, it was ending you life with dignity. All I can say to anyone looks at the situation this person found himself in and wanting to "end his life with dignity" is boo f'in hoo. Stop being so selfish. He had reasons to keep living, multiple reasons. He was a intelligent person with many skills and ways to continue providing his own livelyhood. People that loved him, also people that wanted him in they're lives. And only reason to "end his life" he was being selfish, he couldn't accept the fact that his life wasn't the same before he became paralized. Not that it matters, he could of had thousands of reasons for him to end it all. It would of still been a purely selfish act. Cowardice imo. So in ending I would say don't watch this movie because it promotes suicide.

4. i never cry during movies, but this is my exception - ok, wow. i stumbled upon this movie just looking for something to watch since i had nothing to do today. i can say this is now probably my FAVORITE FILM! Lou, and Will’s whole love story is so real, and unique from anything i’ve seen before. it’s not just, pretty boy meets pretty girl and instantly love each other. their relationship development is so authentic. i loved how lou grows to love him despite his flaws, and changes him for the better. i do wish that the ending was different, however, the ending is realistic, and sheds light on the truth of mental health, and how it isn’t something that is easily persuaded. i was literally SOBBING, the last minutes of the film! and can i say, i NEVER cry during films. idk what it is, it’s a rare occasion that i cry at sad films. but this film is different. the characters are easy to get in touch with, and easy to feel like you know them! wow wow wow, idk how this got a % on Rotten Tomatoes, this is one of the most touching, emotional, and captivating films you may ever watch.

5. yes it's one of those clique chic-flick movies but... - I felt it was well executed and it's designed to tug at your heartstrings. And it's got Amelia Clarke at which point I dont really care because this movie IMO shows her as this bubbly side which in it's self completely intoxicating. Rent it for a date night movie - I think you'll like it
2017-09-04
6. Loved - I loved this movie and it does not glorify suicide it shows options to those who are unable to live the full life THEY want to live. I wouldn't do it and I am a victim of spinal cord injury and I could be just like that from the slightest trip or twist so I get it. Still, I loved it and will but it so I can watch it over and over.

7. Reality of Life - Seeing all the negative reviews simply because the watcher does not agree with the viewpoint does not lessen the reality this movie portrays and shows that life is not always neat. Life is in they gray and the messy moments and until you are the one that has walked in the shoes of someone with a terminal illness or condition who are you to judge the choices Will and the author made. This story brought about a hidden reality that exists that struggling with a terminal illness is excruciating and living in pain daily takes a toll on every aspect of life. Why not allow someone the dignity to chose how they want to live and die? For those that criticize, I will assume you've never had a terminal illness and your speaking from a glass house.

8. Happy [freakin] Valentines Day - Wow. Watching this movie helped me understand the phrase "love hurts so good". So, I selected this movie from the romance genre with my red wine & box o'chocolates in hand not knowing what to expect. Happy Valentines Day...movie loves me (toss a petal) - movie loves me not (toss a petal. I hated this movie. I loved this movie. Movie made me cry and laugh and wonder. Very well scripted-casted-acted-directed with incredible cinematography. Music Soundtrack touched all my heartstrings. I guess movie loves me (toss a petal).

9. Sad but good. - This is such a beautiful movie! I I read the book, and while it was sad, it was so so wonderful. The movie did an amzaing job, and in my opionion actually made the story flow somewhat smoother than the book making the theme of love and how tragic life can sometimes be, actually more clear. The acting is brilliant and dosen't distract from the story, the soundtrack is light and happy, and deeply touching all at once. Worth every second.

10. Perfect girls night film - This movie was fantastically done, there's no denying that, plus it made me want a pair of striped stockings, you have to watch it to know what I'm talking about lol. The acting was amazing and the cast had such a great chemistry, that helped you fall even more in love with the characters. I normally would never go for the romance movies/novels, because that's just not me, but I thoroughly enjoyed it....up until the ending. I was a little conflicted by the ending, because its not a normal cliche ending that you'd expect, I personally love movies that do that, but I was also extremely angered by it. The main male character made a selfish, drastic decision, which was glorified. Despite the ending, I loved it and it's a perfect girls night film.
2017-01-21
11. Meaningful - Not only did I think this movie was amazing and romantic emotion filled but I also think the story this movie provides its audience is one of great importance. Often people with terminal or debilitating conditions face great struggle and sometimes no matter what that hardship and despair never goes away. This movie shows that although it's hard to understand, individuals who face these kind of things can come to a point where they have accepted their fate, the good things and the bad things in their life and want to die peacefully and with closure. So many people are judged for this and I think this movie helps others realize what it's like when someone with such a condition can go through and can battle with on a daily basis. It shows others that sometimes we have to put ourselves ourselves in the position of the one struggling to be able to properly empathize with them.

12. Glorification of the wrong thing!!! - This movie is just one example of the complete degredation of our moral society. The normalization and glorification of assisted suicide is disheartening to say the least. So many of us will never know nor understand the pain and suffering some of our brothers and sisters go through, be it physically or mentally, that contributes to them choosing a premeditated path to end their life. Having said that, none of us was EVER prosmised a life without either. Pain and suffering present an opportunity to an individual as well as all those around them to experience TRUE joy, set an example of unconditional love for oneself and each other, and reject the notion that material wealth and temporary "happiness" from physical things and self-gratifying activities are required to have a fullfilling life.

1. Too predictable and a has been - I am a huge fan of Clooney and Julia Roberts but this movie was a total Sunday afternoon lifetime movie! They just had A list stars in them. That’s it. Only about stars. Rest were fillers and looked like they were all on a vacation yet getting paid to do a movie!! Tired of paying ridiculous prices for just okay movies! Totally expected a lot more when paying to see A listers otherwise we can just waste time with Netflix shows.

2. Loved it! - I got exactly what I was looking for in this movie: a light-hearted entertaining movie with a little romance. Sure, aspects of the story weren’t perfect, but Julia and Clooney have enough chemistry and acting chops to pull off the entire thing, so I thoroughly enjoyed it (and the beautiful scenery). Recommend this!
2023-01-16
3. I had such high hopes.. - I love the actors.. but the story itself has been done over and over again but normally more watchable than this one… if you are looking for hrs of arguing, you did this wrong, I’m right you’re wrong… then this is the movie for you. don’t even get me started about that cringe worthy ending…
2023-01-05
4. Glad I watched for free on peacock - I hoped this was going to be more entertaining. I’ve always enjoyed Julia’s movies. This, however, so slap stick comedy, I actually thought, “just shoot me” until the story quickened. The scenery was beautiful. Makes me want to vacation in Bali. The food, if true to life, looked amazing. Nice attempt, but, not buying it as a great movie I hoped for.

5. Sorry to say…..worst movie ever. - I spent money on this and I am completely disappointed. Disappointed on the time I wasted, watching this. I was looking forward to this movie. Now I am left with regret. I expected it to be a great and a profound funny movie. Definitely pass on this movie and save your money.

1. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are both fantastic - Sam Mendes is a good director he directed such good movies like American Beauty, Skyfall, Road to Perdition and Spectre. But Revolutionary Road is a new and dramatic take on hard relationships both Winslet and DiCaprio hate each other in real-life so lets make them fight in this movie and the acting, production value and cinematopgraphy are fantastic. The movie has a raw feel and it looks gorgeous beyond structure and every shot and performence are good i highly recommend this hard-hitting drama.

2. Not bad. - Not bad, but stay with the book, a masterful depiction of 's America when supposedly life was good. The best thing is the actor who playing the "crazy" son of the realtor. Great chilling perforrmance. Kate is better than expected, but "Jack" will always be jack, a very limited performer. Richard Yates is a terrific novel writer.

3. Revolutionary Road Review: - Sam Mendes (American Beauty) once again delivers a masterpiece that like his debut film shows the struggles and harsh reality’s of suburbia life in America. Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet are nothing short of incredible although Winslet shines with her jaw dropping performance & career best in my opinion. Micheal Shannon adds onto an amazing cast with an outstanding role as a middle-aged man struggling with a plethora of mental issues which does a fantastic job of tying into what I believe the overall theme of the film was suppose to be.

4. Such a good movie! - This is one of my favorite movies of all time. From the book by the same name, Kate Winslet is amazing and the movie keeps you thinking long after it's over. Whether you're blissfully married or not, new to marriage, or been together for decades, you'll recognize something profound in this film.

5. A film that connects on a deeply human level - I understand the point of view of some thinking that this is a depressing movie. However I think if thats what you walk away with here your missing the point. It's a film about going after what you really want in life, without compremise. It takes real guts to rise out of the ordinary and go against the grain and even question the majority. I think many of us have experienced this in some way, often we rise up and then stumble or ration our way out of who we truly are. This is probably one of my all time favorite films, brilliant writing, directing and acting all around....even the cinematagraphy was outstanding. I couldn't believe Kate won for the reader over this film. DiCaprio, is doing some of his finest work. I feel like its hard not to be connected to this movie and the natural wants and needs of both characters. How they act when they feel mis-aligned with life vs aligned with their true selves. Well done Sam Mendes! Also special shout out to Michael Shannon for his unigue character and performance. Bravo to the entire team for putting it out there.

6. BEST ONSCREEN COUPLE SINCE SCARLETT AND RHETT!! - This was a great movie! To the people who missed the point.. The point was.. They didn't want to be the cliche suburban robots.. In those days you where expected to get married, have kids, work in a office, and the wife stays home raising the kids.. Cooking the meals.. Etc."living the American Dream. well not everyone is about material superficial things like the big White House and the white picket fence! Kathy Bates playing the "gossiping two face everything is perfect" woman but had the crazy son... "To be free" that was the point! To be free to do something different.. Something they really wanted to do together. That's the problem with today still.. We work to live, we live to work.. No adventure, love gets stale.. Etc.. Wonderful movie..

7. I'm not sure what to think... - Some scenes from this movie are so funny! But I miss jack and Rose!!!! :( y'all need to split and stay apart! Because y'all ruined the titanic romance.... :( The titanic was just for u ( jack and rose) and no other movie.. and Kate please go back to being a red head....... Leo was the funniest In this movie!!!! :D
2013-08-21
8. It seems all so familiar. - Revolutionary Road is about how love in a relationship isn't all you need. Kate plays a magnificent character in where she feels trapped. Trapped in her same white picket fence house in the suburbs. Where her husband goes of to work and she stays home. Its the life of many woman throughout the world. There is a lot of fighting between Kate and Leo ,but I think that is what makes this movie brilliant.
2013-03-01
9. Uncommonly Honest and Realistic Film - This is an outstanding film, regardless of the fact that one can quibble with one or another directorial choice. The acting is outstanding all around, with DiCaprio and Winslet giving the finest, most difficult and honest acting performances I've seen in a movie in a long time by two lead actors. This was a very difficult movie to make, with any number of obstacles in the way of giving viewers a real feeling the atmosphere of the 's and the ways people dealt with their problems in the U.S. during those years. However, regardless of the fact that one can argue that this or that should have been presented differently, it is nevertheless an outstanding achievement to put this story up on the screen as effectively as they all did. Overall, the director, actors, and crew - even down to the person having the smallest role - created a compelling, honest story about a marriage built on a shaky foundation with a couple that was bound to have trouble growing and sustaining a loving, effective partnership in a chokingly repressed and stifling society. The movie addresses real problems faced by real people in situations we are familiar with, in one form or another, even today. In those ways, it is head and shoulders better than the vast majority of movies produced today. I hope more people will see this movie and appreciate that it is obviously a labor of love, even if the subject matter, story, and human foibles portrayed are difficult to witness. I can only wish that more movies like this one continue to be financed and created with as fine a cast and crew, in this age of the super-spectacular fantasy block-buster extravaganza aimed at -year-olds.

10. Great - Wow. Just wow. Kate and Leo were knockouts in this! They are absolutely fantastic together and in this their acting was incredible. It scared the crap out of me. This movie made me not want to get married for awhile. Their characters are also quite the opposite than in Titanic (yeah I know another Titanic comment). This move is great and you need to watch it!!
2011-11-05
11. Excellent acting! Sad truth about some relationships - This film grabbed me from the first minutes and carried me into the end credits. This is not a film where everyone lives a happy life and is smiling at the end. It really shows the excitement of a new relationship where each person sees the best in one another. They share the same hopes and dreams, until they are forced to deal with the reality they end up living. I felt the happiness, the anger, and the hopelessness portrayed by DiCaprio and Winslet. Beautifully acted and thought provoking. I believe many married couples have experienced some portions of this film during their lives. I too, could identify with some. Definitely worth watching and purchasing. As long as you don't watch it thinking it will have a happy ending, then you will not be disappointed. My only con is that I'm a little upset that this is only offered as a rental and I hope iTunes will allow the 'buy' option.

12. Brought me to tears... - I absolutely loved this movie. I have been meaning to see it but never got the chance to. I just wish I could buy it on itunes. Leondaro is one of my favorite actors. I was quite captivated by the flawless acting, the heartfelt plot and the overall presentation of the film. I was touched and moved. It felt so real and when the arguments got heated...my heat started racing. I have seen marriages like this...and life does take a turn sometimes.... Now I am rabbling sorry. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who appreciates a real life film. A film where you can learn a bit or two. A film you can truly feel each and every moment. My eyes never left the screen...My ears never closed....Loved it

13. Great Movie and Comeback - It's really awesome that LD and Kate came back to do another awesome movie as they did with Titanic. Anyway, this is a great movie like no joke. There's love, violence, hate, joy, and most important awesome actors and actresses. Also apple it would be great if we the people actually BOUGHT the movie instead of renting it. As I am speaking among everybody who thinks it's a good idea. Ladies let me just say that I( a teen who is a girl) think (and you may or may not agree with me I don't really care) Leonardo DeCaprio looks handsome without facial hair at any age. Trust me I thought this dude was alright until I saw Titanic and all his other movies when he had no hair on his face. After that I was in Celebrity love. So rent this movie as many times as you can or buy it.

14. Great movie - Leo and Kate are still doing a great job together since Titanic. The show the troubles of the Wheeler family in a great way. Kate Winslet is a O.K. actress, but in this movie she showed a side of her that made me want to cry every time she cried. Leo has kept my heart ever since Titanic and he was a great middle aged, working man in this movie. Great movie

15. It was just Perfect - I mean overall the movie was amazing, and yeah the end was so sad, i seriously cried myself to sleep, it just impacted me so much, i love this movie so much. Leo and Kate are just amazing actors, what more can we ask? They gave this movie the spark, them together just make Perfection. I seriously recommend this movie, it is a must See! Love it!

16. Marry for the right reasons - I was reading through many of the reviews and many of the one star reviews were given because the movie was depressing, nobody smiled, and it had a depressing ending: Let me give you negative reviewers something to think about: Revolutionary Road was not designed to be a "good movie" that you'll watch when you need a "good movie". This is a though-provoking and message sending movie that only about % of Americans will understand. It is depressing, has fighting, lots of swearing, and shows what marriage can turn into, assuming you marry because you're a young couple. One reviewer made the comment about its portrayal of marriage in a time where women didn't get divorced if their marriage was collapsing. It's % true - I think any couple that's thinking of getting married, should watch this movie until they CLEARLY understand the point. Should your stance on marriage and abortion change because of this movie? No - it should make you think twice before doing something that you might regret in the future.

If anyone at Itunes reads this, can you please send me an e-mail and explain what you are thinking when you write the description text.

18. Best of - Best film I saw in , and best acting in a film in by Kate Winslet. This is that rare film that doesnt pander to the lowest common denominator like many movies do these days. It causes you to think, to get to know the characters, to feel genuine emotion. Yes, it is sad at times, but it is the type of film that keeps you thinking about it days later, unlike a happy-go-lucky romantic comedy that you forget the moment you leave the theater.

2. This is the best movie I have ever seen - This movie has the perfect amount of drama, romance, and real life tragities that will make you cry but still love it. The actors did amazing jobs and the writers are really good at keeping you guessing. This is a great family movie for older kids. But there are some scenes you should be careful of. Have fun and pay attention. Don’t wipe your tears just let them fall. Definitely a five star movie. Staring Leonardo DiCaprio

3. Titanic is the best romantic movie out there - Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are great couples in Titanic and the performences and chimestry between Jack Dawson and Rose are interesting and emotional throughout. James Cameron's direction and visual effects are gorgeous this film is well-written, well acted and has the best music in any other film this year. I highly recommend Titanic it's a masterpiece that you will never forget!

1. Beautiful production, weak narrative - Although it betrays it’s spatial limitations and veers on inducing claustrophobia at times, Coppola’s ambition to create the film entirely on sets yields some beautiful production designs. He wanted to film black backgrounds and instead focus on ornate costume design and that explains the meticulous attention to wardrobe as well. Unfortunately the story is driven by an unconvincing doomed love story populated with mostly not very compelling characters. The biggest sin is that it isn’t remotely scary. Dracula is flamboyant here but not at all menacing. He’s a tragic romantic in this interpretation which ironically otherwise follows the events of the novel more closely than any other adaptation. But fundamentally changing the character motivation makes the finished product fairly pretentious, devoid of urgency and drenched in overwrought melodrama when it should be desperate and intense. Still the acting is committed and the memorable score goes a long way to create atmosphere. The Annie Lennox song is a good addition as well. There isn’t a two and a half star option so I’ll round it up to three.

2. My LOVE for this movie NEVER DIES - I’ve watched this on DVD, Blu-ray, satellite TV, VHS in & now I own it in digital format. I wish I could’ve seen it when it was first released in theaters, I was only years old at the time :( I really love the production value that was put into this film, minus the portrayal of Harker. Gary Oldman’s Dracula gives me an insight of a man sworn to evil, because his love for a woman has caused him so much pain that he rips any shred of humanity left in him. Also, the haunting composition by Wojciech Kilar is my favorite film score of ALL TIME. I wish the music from the climax of this film was included in the soundtrack. I admire Coppola’s use of original movie tricks for this film

3. I too read the book... - Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins...what else do you need to know??? Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder were poor choices as co-stars having to work against two of the finest actors alive. Keanu was too young and unskilled as an actor and the two masters couldn't help but steal every scene. Winona just didn't pass the suspension of credibility test as a young English woman and the chemistry between her and Reeves simply didn't exist from the start. But she did present the script to Coppola so what else could he do?

4. The Best Gothic Romance Horror Film Ever Made - Coppola, Oldman, Ryder, and Hopkins all turn in some of their best work. The costumes, make up, special effects, sets, lighting, atmosphere, and amazing score all make up a one of a kind cinematic experience. Gary Oldman is Dracula, following the book while adding elements of romance and Vlad. This is the BEST version of Dracula ever!!

5. Worthy of the time for me to write a review - I read the original Dracula by Bram Stoker months ago and I was so fascinated by it, especially odd for someone with as short an attention span as me, and finished this novel in just under weeks, reading everyday and night nonstop, it was such a lovely classic, I would certainly read it again. I watched the movie times afterwards in counting because I liked the novel so much and the movie was good as well. The movie did have some spot on resemblance to the book as well as exact lines from the book which was nice to see, and overall it was such a classic tale of romance and suspense and thrilling, my favorite scene around :: when the Count first sees Madam Mina on the town square. Loved it. stars

6. My favorite Drac film - I just love this movie, from the first time I saw it in theaters. In this Dracula is a sweeping edgy romantic tale full of adventure, fantasy, doom and redemption. It is visually lush and grotesque at the same time. I never tire of watching it. The Drac is fluff compared to this retelling. This film is fabulous!

7. Romantic? More like, hot vampire sexy fun time. - I think it’s funny that other reviewers are calling this a romantic movie. This is practically lesbian porn… and I adore it. Vampires, Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder (her ridiculous British accent is tough to get past but if you like Ryder, you can look past it… if you try hard enough.) and Antony Hopkins? This movie really brought out my bisexuality as a teenager. I assure you, I’m not joking. Gary Oldman in that blue suit and those glasses? Swoon.. Winona Ryder in most anything? Swoon. Vampire chicks having sex? Swoon. Lol. I love this movie.

8. Wonderful movie - I remember watching this movie when I was in third grade (I was at the time) and loved watching the movie. Love Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins. They are my most favourite actors ever! I thought that Winona Ryder played an excellent Mina. I have also read the book a couple of years ago and I thought most the movie stayed true to the book. The thing about movies is that you make it your own and add/delete to make a good movie. They are like books, you can get in trouble for plagerism. Only way to do anything is when you have permission to use it. Francis Ford Copola added a perfect love story in it which I believe started the vampire romance novels of today (for young adults). I can watch this movie over and over again. I am so buying this movie.

9. The closest movie to Bram Stoker's vision - There are elements that really make this movie stand out as one of if not the best Dracula movie ever made: ) The film sticks very closely to the original written work by Bram Stoker, which is suspenseful story telling at it's best. ) The acting by both Gary Oldman (Dracula) & Anthony Hopkins (Van Helsing) was superb. The weakest acting in the film was by Keanu Reeves (Jonathan Harker), who IMO was improperly cast for the role. The rd element was the atmospheric qualities in cinematography, special fx and sound effects, & the period costumes. The th element was the score, which in it's predominant cello tones lent not only to the macob tonality of the movie, but swept into the love story between Elizabeth/ Mina & Vlad/ Dracula.

10. To the young movie and monster buffs! - Kids, don't listen to the comedians out there! This movie is hard core and lovingly made. It follows an actual Transylvanian legend on Dracula's origin, has awesome visuals and symbolism, and was obviously made with a great deal of love. Check out this movie immediately! Also download the soundtrack, the last song by Annie Lennox is a bit 's and may not seem to fit the film at first, but that's also awesome!
2013-03-26
11. Absolutely breath taking - These actors know how to embody their characters. Coppola's imagination takes this movie to a whole new level in the world of drama, chatastrophy, sex, and blood. While watching this film you feel not only empathy, but tears streaming down your face as you watch Dracula discover the tragedies of his loved ones. I highly recommend watching this, to anyone who loves vampires, werewovles, and just a thrill for Halloween. Some parts I would watch alone, but other than that, get some friends together, eat some popcorn, and get a one-way ticket to Transylvania and England! Also, one thing they forgot to mention was that this picture was awarded an Oscar for Best Costume Design. :D

12. One of the greatest acting performances in film history - Gary Oldman is just astounding as Dracula. He gives so much of himself to every role but here, he is really at his best. He worked very hard on the role and it shows: the accent, the little gestures, the body language, the glances, the passion, the tenderness, the love for his character - it's all there! It is one the most sympathetic portrayals of Dracula, yet simultaneously one of the most terrifying. Just on this fact alone, you should buy this movie. It will go down as one of the greatest acting performances ever. Now of course, there is Anthony Hopkins fresh from months of rehearsal, need I say more? There are major weaknesses to the movie such as Keanu Reeves, the special effects, and arguably Winona Ryder. But if you open yourself to the narrative, you'll be swept away by the romance and the intensity of this movie, which is quite literally bursting at the seems. I'm very picky with my movies but I frankly just love this movie in so many ways. Check it out!

13. crazy nuts! - you are proabably thinking he turns in to a bat and hates garlic but your wrong. this dracula is way different. and you see how he gets his powers. the thing i thought was nuts was instead of female vampires sucking blood out of male humans they eat babies and little kids. i was all: shoot are you kidding me? that caught me by surpize. buy this! forget the black and white movie. this one beats it by a long shot. and no CG. you would enjoy it. buy it and you won't regret it!

14. Dracula: Love Never dies - This movie is as close to the book ever. A story written by a man who felt the urge to create horror. I personally like of how they were able to put it all together, because there was a lot of stuff added and cahnged from the book. You should also chech out Mary Sheley's Frankenstein, as both movies are directed by the same guy, Francis Ford Coppola. It's a great movie, with that said, I say to all blood is too precious of a thing to waist, and that The BLOOD IS THE LIFE, AND IT SHALL BE MINE!

15. Great film! - I love this movie, a real classic. I read the book, which only took me a week to read it, I had to watch the film. IMO, it was pretty close to the book. This is far better than the vampire films made today. If you want to know who Dracula really was, do some research. Very interesting. I own this movie, I recommend buying it!! It's definately stars!!!

16. LOVED the book and LOVE this movie - To those that hated the movie, you have no imagination. The plot followed the book just fine. Minor differences made the movie the romantic love story that it is. The actors were suited to the characters of the book. Never been a W.R. fan, but Gary O. was amazing. I can watch this movie and read the book a million times and never grow tired or bored with them.
2011-08-31
17. Awful - This movie is dreadfully awful. Does not follow the plot of the book in any way and the acting is terrible. The dialogue is almost non-existent as the actors just throw out lines with hardly any real conversation. The story is full of gratuitous nudity not included in the book and should not even have his name in the title. Everyone from the director on down seems to be just trying way too hard with this one when following the book would have been sufficient. Don t waste your time or money.
2011-06-29
18. Favorite Vampire movie ever! - I didn't see this movie until I was about or so, but as soon as I watched it, uncensored, for the first time, I was HOOKED! Every other vampire movie fails in comparsion to this, and it's beautiful to look at. I have not read the book, but seeing this makes me want to. Forget the beautiful, sparkling things that rule our movie minds, and embrace Gary Oldman's Dracula persona, it's amazing.

1. Fever Pitch is going down! - Ever since the age of , it has been a lifelong goal of mine to take Jeff Fallon down. Now that he has produced this Chik-Flick it has brought great shame to th Century Fox and our Founding Fathers would be rolling in their graves. This movie goes against the Constitution.

1. Phenomenal - One of my favorite movies of all time. Literally one of Tina Fey and Jason Bateman’s best movies and I will die on the hill if it’s required to boost its rating. Very close to the source material and the cast could not be any better. If you need a heart felt comedy, this is the movie for you. Read the book and watch this beautiful movie and feel the love I do.

2. Excellent Movie about love, family, death & hilarious - The entire cast gives a great performance and if you love Tina Fey or Jason Bateman you won’t be disappointed. Jane Fonda is humorous and looks amazing. A glimpse into this family‘s life may make you wish that it was your family, or cause you realize you already have a dysfunctional family and are adequately covered on that front. If you have a perfect family, good for you. This movie is funny and I loved it. Definitely one to enjoy more than once.

3. Had a little of everything... - OMG... just a feel good movie about love & family. There were definitely some twists & turns, but I enjoyed the journey getting to know each family member as each secret was uncovered. The actors were all excellent for the rolls they played. I’ll be recommending this movie to others:)

4. I actually liked this movie - It seems this movie got some negative reviews. I found it funny and actually pretty interesting. Was it the best movie? No. But it killed some time and I am glad I watched it. As someone who must find meaning in almost everything I do, I did find meaning in this movie. If this makes you decide to watch it I laughed and I cried. Although crying for me is fairly easy.

5. Instant Top Five Favorite - I cannot fathom the idea that any person (other than those severely lacking in senses of humor) could not fall madly in love with this movie. An unparalleled definition of a true “dramedy.” The humor and poignancy were weaved together exquisitely. The cast is absolutely, outrageously talented. I genuinely cannot fathom how one could possibly dislike this film.

6. Thanksgiving classic? - For whatever reason, while I watched this movie, all I could think of is my family gatherings at Thanksgiving. Just all the craziness and personality conflicts with the sub current of family love. Couple that with a recent death in the family and it fits like a glove. Very very very much worth a rental. As for a purchase, I’ll wait until the price comes down. Then I’ll buy it for sure.
2015-07-21
7. Good for what it’s supposed to be. - As the title suggests, this movie it good for what it’s supposed to be. If you saw the trailer you should have been aware that this wasn’t going to be a Hollywood classic. It’s supposed to be a fun, entertaining movie, with some heart and relatable moments. Not all moments, but some. To me, it accomplished what it was supposed to be. So, enjoy it for what it is not, not what you want it to be.
2015-01-30
8. Worst Comedy of the Year - When Jane Fonda kept showing her breasts and telling her adult son that his father liked to put his penis in her cleavage I almost got sick. None of us could follow the confusing array of relationships and why, when they couldn’t be there when he was sick, they all had to live together for a week. Turned it off after minutes.
2015-01-18
9. Realistic and witty - This ensemble cast does a great job of portraying a realistic family and their time of loss. It has a good balance of humor and heart-warming, relatable scenarios. Many times, the reviews are not considering the realistic side of this movie that forces you to consider your own life and how family and death are a part of all of our lives.
2015-01-10
10. Atypical, Memorable and Entertaining! - This movie is not full of violence, fast action or graphic sexual scenes….and it’s not going to win any Oscars. It is, however, a great movie with lots to offer folks who can live without the fast-paced, violent, super sexed up movies. The many memorable quips in it are true to life, thought-provoking and worth remembering. The actors are well cast and all do an excellent job in portraying their different characters. Jane Fonda, Jason Bateman and Tina Fey deserve extra “attaboys” because they were all classy, down to earth and real in this movie. Life is wonderful, but also it's challenging, it throws us many curveballs and we humans ain’t perfect beings…by far! This movie deals with those realities and leaves you thinking long after you’ve seen it. Excellent!!
2015-01-09
11. Don't knock it till you try it - This movie looked decent to me but when I actually sat down and watched it I fell in love. The only storyline is so involved and it is sort of a peak into the lives of some people who go through family tragedies as the family in the movie. Definitely take the time to sit down and watch this one!!
2015-01-02
12. Fantastic movie - Excellent cast. Jason Bateman is usually playing an unlikeable character, but I found him to be quite endearing in this. Adam Driver, I couldn't help but love him. Corey Stoll is great in everything he does. Tina Fey was spectacular, as always. I laughed, I cried. It was just a really good, well done movie.

2. Ugh - So boring & not at all funny. The storyline is just nothing, although the actors & actresses did their best with what they were given. I don’t care what race of people are in this movie. It would be unfunny & boring no matter what or who. I’ve watched my fair share of rom-coms, some good & some bad, and this one of the bad ones. Ugh.

1. Mr Grey will now see what bad movie this is - Fifty Shades of Grey......I mean come on! there has to be a reason why this movie was made in the first place because this movie dosen't appeal to men like the main character Christian Grey who is a (not going to say handsome) but is a weathly but rich businessman who Daktoa Johnson's character Annatasia Steel falls in love with him and wants her even more than just love. All iam saying is that i didn't enjoy this movie not because of the abusive or sexual content that disturbed me it's because of the terrible chimestry these two main characters are and there are also other characters that serve no interse in the plot. This film isn't sexy or maybe if your a girl or a woman you will enjoy this movie because you guys and gals read the book you know what it's like to live the fantasy of a happy relationship. But when men watch it they think this movie is too smart for them or it's too cliche, dumb and overall it dosen't contain that sour feel from my favorite romantic movies like (Shaun of the Dead, Her, Scott Pilgrim, A Star is Born and Titanic) all of those movies work because they have good directors and they have characters and they have chimestry and overall it works out fine. But Fifty Shades of Grey pissess me off and if woman like it then fine there gonna like it because Christian Grey is hot and handsome but in my opinion watching this has made me discover that relationships is complex and meaningless isn't because a rich werido is going to fall in love with this woman isn't because she is going to love him no matter how much you just have to see this for yourself this is a review by marcelo you pal.

2. Cult Appeal - I loved Jaime Dornan in The Fall so I finally decided to see what all the hype was about by first downloading a sample of the book. I was a little surprised by how clunky, adolescent and unbelievable the dialog was and how shallow the characters are so I didn't bother buying the rest of the book. I decided to "rent" the movie on iTunes just to satisfy my curiosity. I can't jump to the conclusion that this was a bomb. Firstly because it is fiction. It's not supposed to show us a real relationship, let alone a real BDSM relationship. But it has intrigue as a first episode in a series. I can see how viewers may be disappointed by this as a movie. I am going to watch the next two and see if it makes a better miniseries. Don't expect much. This story pales in comparision to Secretary which was a brilliant movie nor does is have the appeal of Bound for it's sensuality. I think it has potential as a quirky, lightweight tale of a left-of-center, fictional relationship but was disappointed in it as a movie. Like a say, it's the first episode in a curious miniseries that alllows the viewer to take a peak into one version of a DOM/SUB relationship. However, Fifty Shades of Grey would need a complete screenplay overhaul to be a called really good movie.

3. It's just a movie.... - I'm not sure what everyone is so worked up over. It was a MOVIE. I personally thought Dakota Johnson was wonderful. Ten times better than the Ana in the books, whom I found insufferable and immature. Dakota brought a warmth and humor to the character. Jamie Dornan was okay. I found his attempt at hiding his Irish accent distracting. Christian is far from perfect, having gone through the childhood he did, and I think that is sort of the point. Ana helped him grow and mature. I thought it was an entertaining movie and almost like it better than the book (I know. Shocking.) I watched all three movies and liked them all.

4. Very good movie - Enjoyed it a lot. The premise touches on what happens in the big picture of real life. Women have fantasies. Maybe it this fantasy, but they have them. It’s not just a man’s realm. The acting felt a tad off to me at first, but maybe it’s because the two actors were unfamiliar to me. However, they were quite engaging as the movie went on. I also watched to sequel & plan on watching the third movie as well.
2018-02-26
5. What a waste - I couldn’t finish this movie do to what its message is trying to convey. Women are repeatedly abused and controlled by men in society and I feel like movies like this can send the wrong message to women by saying that it’s ok for a man to treat you a certain way because he is “handsome” or “rich” etc... definitely reinforcing that women should tolerate certain behaviors just to have a relationship with a man.
2018-02-02
6. SO bad - SO cringey and boring. Couldn't even make it through the whole movie. Also, horrible casting and the girl was a terrible actress. And was I supposed to find the actor they cast as Mr Grey "intimidating"? Just LOL. Really unlikable characters and just a terrible movie. Don't waste your time or money. I feel like the only people who could like this are weird Twilight fans

7. Best Romance books ever! EL James...Bravo!! - Wonderful...
Five is Not enough stars..
It's the best...
It's not about the BDSM and that being a right thing because it's definitely not or about him being a Billionaire. It's about him being attracted to her enough to not even realize he is in Love with her and wants something besides just the BDSM and he doesn't realize that he is already in Love with her after first meeting her. He realizes how empty his life is because up to the time of meeting her he has not understood the true meaning of love. Because of his past his having a bad Mom who is a crack addict and then cruel stepfather's and beatings and torture then his Mom dies and he has to be in the house alone with her body before anyone finds him at the most tender and fragile of ages. Even when he ends up being adopted he does understand how to Love because he can't let go of his past/childhood & the Elena years. Then worse someone like Elena comes into his life and he was already terribly confused because of his childhood. And then what Elena tried to teach & tell him that BDSM was normal. Once he meets Anastasia he wants to have real Love and he realizes how futile and worthless the BDSM really is. He is beginning to realize You don't treat someone you love in that way. Anastasia teaches him all of this because she teaches him to communicate, how to understand his feelings and deal with his past. And I think she falls In love with him at first site. And then as she finds out more about him instead of being repulsed by his past/background and his being an orphan she just falls in Love with him all the more.
And then she realizes that helping him continue his dysfunctional relationships is not good for either of them especially him so she breaks it off for both of their sakes. I think it is wonderful that they get back together and find the true real meaning of Love..(You have to read it as a romantic would read it and you have to read all of the books. And you have to understand that the BDSM is only a small integral part of the plot to explain how the story begins, evolves and ends.)
Anastasia is ready for love when she meets Christian and once he meets her he realizes that loving her is the most important thing and that sex is a very important integral part of LOVE and that BDSM has no place in really loving someone. (You really see the this in Fifty Shades Darker on the sail boat when he teaches her to sail it and he tells her "He Loves seeing her so happy..That's when both we/he can tell he is truly in Love with her unselfishly..) Can't wait for the third Movie even though I already know the end from the book. Bravo EL James...Encore, Encore. Wish EL James could continue on further with this book.. I could say more but I will stop.. LIKE I SAID WONDERFUL!!

1. Definitely One Of My Favorite Romantic Movies Of All Time - I absolutely love the “romantic chemistry” between Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullocks!
This movie is definitely for the hopeless romantics and I am one of those … The story captures their beautiful, breathtaking & captivating love for each other that they found and are willing to sacrifice to be and wait for each other through distance of time— “two years that separate them apart” ….. and they persevered through all the trials and tribulations that they faced just to be with each other …. Simply beautiful!
I love this movie and has added it to my “All time favorite romantic movies !”
Keanu Reeves is such a great actor and so is Sandra Bullocks!! They are two of my favorites !!

2. Interesting story but so bad it's good - There's no deining that Keanu Reeves is a good actor and despite himself being in other Hollywood stockmarket bad movie he is not an actor anymore he is a legend. I seen Keanu Reeves in other good movies and those good movies are his talent and his acting skills to be cool and be the hearthoub of Hollywood. But the Lake House suffers from originality but the story is interesting that is so bad it's good movies and has a bit of a cult following towards young adults and teenage fandom girls The Lake House follows Katie Forester (Sandra Bullock) a inspired nurse who works triely in Chicago while living in a abandoned lake house. Also we get introduced to Alex (Keanu Reeves) a fraustrating contrusction worker deals with his sarrow with his single life as he sents letters to Katie and have a long-distance relationship even if there not seeing each other in person or never met actually. Now The Lake House is a diffcult movie to enjoy or be entertained because this movie is intentionally hailrious and if you like this movie then fine but The Lake House suffers from originality and tries to create a bond relationship towards Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock by sending letters to each other in terms of communication and undeniably bad performences from the two lead actors including Keanu Reeve who gives a mundane performence and the film's story is interesting and the only way to enjoy The Lake Hous is take sleeping pills if you don't then the entertaining value in this film towards the ongoing chimestry between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock feel forced and poorly exectued to the point were they don't see each other or connect with each other at all so The Lake House has some good cinematopgrahpy choices that sometimes are distracting and some look like real shots going on. Either way you love the Lake House or not it's still a so bad it's good movie with untentionally hailrious momments and cliche diagloue that are geniune to the romance genre instead of making a romantic fairy tale this is currently a rip off of the Tom Hanks film You've Got Mail so i see were this inspiration came from into making this romantic film, Overall rating impressivly entertaining-/

3. A great go to when you don't know what to watch - I find myself wandering back to this movie, as I do with the Godfather and the Shawshank Redemption, although totally different in that it's (I guess) considered a chick flick. Whenever it's on I stop what I'm doing and watch it throughout its entirety. (SPOILER ALERT - Stop reading this if you haven't seen this movie yet) I just thought it was a great portrayal of two somewhat ordinary people meeting in a romantic way. Throw in some time travel and a missed opportunities and you've got a great adventure and romance. Honestly I liked it better than any of those movies by Nicholas Sparks - just not my bag. The Lakehouse, hands down. :)

4. Loved it! Can't believe I waited so long to watch it! - I assumed it was a Nicholas Spark type movie so I resisted watching it. I love Bullock and Reeves together so when it was on TV I googled to see if it ended sad. I decided to watch it and immediately night it on iTunes to watch over and over!! What a love story! Wish the two of them would do another film together!! Great chemistry!!

5. Will watch over and over! - I have seen this movie multiple times over the years and can't pass it up every time it shows. I just sat through it twice again and got teary-eyed both times. The chemistry of Sandra and Keanu, the story, the music...just get to me! This is on my all-time favorites list for sure.

6. Definitely worth buying! - This film is truly wonderful. While yes it makes a few mistakes in the whole time thing (go read about it), but still this movie is amazing. I myself am a guy who likes romances, and even showed this to another guy who isn't a fan of them and he loved it as well. The music I personally love, while it wasn't really praised for it unfortunately. Whatever the case I wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone. If you're not sure, rent it! :)

7. Guy vs. Chck-flick - Chick Flick wins! - I'm typically a guy who likes guy movies. I started watching this movie begrudgingly at the request of the females in the house. Although I like guy movies, I also like movies that make you think and try to figure out what’s going on. This one did. I found myself quickly getting sucked into the premise and enjoying both Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. I thought both of them were perfectly cast for their roles. It’s a good family movie and I think I enjoyed it more than the ladies. I’ll be buying this one, but don’t tell my friends.

8. Heartwarming love story - This movie was a love story from begining to end with
a little bit of a Sixth Sense like twist. The movie is slow and not an action adventure movie so it will probably
turn off younger viewers. This movie is well written and the acting was great from both Sandra and Keanu. The chemistry
between these two actors is much better than it was in Speed.
In this movie you really believe they are in love. Bottom line, if you love books by Nora Roberts then you will love this movie as it reminds me of a Nora Roberts book.

1. My Holiday Feel Good Movie - Wow. My favorite holiday movie. It’s real, amazingly awkward and self-assuring. This is a movie I can watch multiple times. From beginning to end, it’s hard not to find the Stone family lovable and irritating. As the movie unfolds, it’s hard to turn away. Bravo to this all star cast. SJP is raw and you can help but root for her. A !

2. Horrible Movie - DO NOT WATCH - This movie was horrendously bad - not sure how some of these actors signed up for this movie after reading the script. The plot picks up new story lines and drops off old ones like it was a habit. The plot ‘twists’ made NO sense, but were somehow supposed to be easily accepted by the audience. SAVE YOUR TIME

3. Good movie, but not what the trailer made it seem.. - Yes. This was a good movie. I usually don't write reviews, but we watched the trailer for it and thought it would be funny to watch. We were wrong. This movie had its funny moments, but it was more serious. If you're looking for a movie to put you in the Christmas spirit, this isn't it. If you're going through something in your own life that you're trying to forget about this might not be a good movie to watch. Yes I gave it four stars, we continued to watch it. It has its funny moments like I said. It also has its feel good moments too.

4. Horrible movie - This movie is horrid. You never have any idea why this family are such s$&theads to Parker, especially Rachel McAdams character. None of the movie makes any sense, and when a character (spoiler alerts) you're almost glad they got some payback. If you like to watch spoiled bullies eat a nice person alive, this is the flick for you.

5. One of my go to movies - Cute movie about family. It's about a family that has very individual siblings but everyone has their place and are loved and accepted. The eldest brother who seems boring and serious thinks he found love in a gal who is also boring and serious but they both find that they don't necessarily want to be so predictable. After staying with his family for the holidays they both find who they want to be with. This is a go to movie for me during the holidays. The ending is also sad/ sweet, gets me every time.

6. Families are messy... - That's really what's going on here. There is no longer, the idea that any family will conform to the, "Leave it to Beaver," stereotype. If those families still exist; more power to them. They don't need this movie, and frankly; don't need it. This is the kind of movie for those of us who don't have perfect lives/friends/families/etc… This is that movie that proves that the christmases of our childhood were special; not for the unrealistic hopes they attempted to live up to, but for the strength of love that was achieved through the effort. Just having parents who care enough to go to all the trouble to establish the kind of experience that seems idyllic, is above and beyond the norm today. If we, as a society, have any hope of moving forward into further strength, it will be by taking the core of what we were taught/shown as kids; which is, "make the best of what we have, to provide better for tomorrow," and move it into a picture that our parents, or possibly grandparents might not see (or want to see) taking shape. To that end, before we judge this film as political, or too this, that or the other thing; let's be clear about the honesty this picture provides. Families are messy. But cleaning up those messes together, is what makes a family, a family. If I'm lucky, my kids' Christmas-es will be half this joyful when they're adults, coming home to my house.

7. Good movie - BUT THERE'S A CATCH - Just a warning - for some reason the studio that licensed this movie has restricted its access. So when you purchase this movie YOU CANNOT LOAD IT TO OTHER DEVICES. It will NOT be available to view on AppleTV, your iPad, etc. if you didn't purchase it directly from that device. TOTALLY LAME. This stinks Apple.

8. This is MY family! - For sure, this is a holiday movie, but I watch it off and on all year. This star-studded movie reminds me so much of my goofy clan...I can only imagine the reactions if me or one of my siblings brought a character such as Meredith home. I love this movie and if you don't own it, you should!
2011-08-06
9. Damn You, Rotten Tomato Spoil Hags! - I can't tell you how much I love this movie. It gives me so many mixed emotions and the ending leaves me in tears every time. This family are a gang of characters who all need some help. lol
I think the only sane people in this family were the deaf, gay brother and his hubby!
A must watch, especially if you're into old fashioned comedy.

10. Surprised!! - I was surprised at how good this was. it is a formula that works with just the right amount of tweaking. The acting is nothing grand, but the ensemble cast works well together to make a believable story. And the plot was very well thought out, while the production was well executed. It's not overly mushy or emotional, but strikes at a certain truth of family life.
2010-06-13
11. Irritating Cliched Movie - Though this movie has a couple hilarious moments, my husband and I wish we could get our almost two hours back. The characters in this movie are totally unrealistic (as well as extremely irritating): no one's family is so mean without reason, and no successful businesswoman is so socially awkward. Sure, the movie captures some of the quirky moments of family life, but other movies like The Savages, Junebug or even Little Miss Sunshine capture such moments in engaging, humorous ways; the people in The Stone Family are just irritating and irrational (which is not to be confused with "complex" or "profound").

12. Way better than we expected it to be! - My husband and I loved this movie. In fact, he is even more enthusiastic about it that I am! It was complex, well rounded...and it had very believable characters... it was a stellar family dynamic with a great balance of emotion, comedy and real life in general. Well worth your time! We highly recommend it. My husband said he thought this movie was as good as Royal Tenenbaums. Definitely way better than we expected it to be!!

1. Good movie - I feel like it was a low budget movie with the acting. Kinda pricy for what it was but maybe after the newness wears off it will become a . movie. Also wish there was more in the beginning of the movie to better explain what happened to her husband n how life was like before but that’s what gets u to watch the whole movie. Keeps u wondering but It was a good story line Kinda gets you thinking in real life of karma. It was a middle of the road movie kinda like a movie you’d watch or find on the lifetime movie channel lol

2. See What You Want & It's Possible - This was a surprisingly good movie about the power of visualization and just general kindness and warmth. Josh Lucas stole the movie in my opinion. He was charming and practically radiated this inner glow in every scene he was in. Katie Holmes, as always, brings a sweet and honest depth to her role. The children were also surprisingly interesting. The step-mom actress was excellent. The only thing I would say to change would maybe add more to Josh Lucas' character through flashbacks about his epiphany and why he embraces the life philsophy that he does. But I also like letting it be a mytery too, the art of going after what you want and attracting life by simply desiring things. Beautiful movie. Just give it a chance if you're on the fence about watching it. It can't hurt to see something about people being good to other people, for a change.

3. Better than expected... - Better than expected, but somewhat light on its feet given the context. Josh Lucas‘s character seemed more the embodiment and orator of the ideas of the story rather than an actual person, and some of the conversations between him and some of the other characters were a bit awkward and stilted.

4. Nope - We are in this together?? I’ll stick with supporting those who are showing compassion for the hardship that many of their fans are having by releasing movies with the option of $-$ to purchase/own not just rent. I won’t spend a dime on this movie or any other movie these leading actors and producers are in just on the principle for their lack of compassion and greed. I can afford to rent $ as I have been blessed to keep job security during this time and I pass those blessings on in my community, it’s about those families during this time that can barely afford their bills. Cut them some slack and start showing some compassion in your movie pricing options.

5. No good - Movie is not good. Don't drink the cool aid and don’t believe the lies the devil sells. False teachings. Demonic doctrine... read your Bible and stop letting the devil lie with the same trash he used on Adam and Eve. You’re human not the creator. Your words don’t create. We simply ask God and out of his Holy wisdom and sovereignty he will answer according to his purpose. Jesus Christ of the Bible is the only answer and he is the only way to happiness and true peace. You are worth so much because Jesus put a worth on you and he paid it with his own life for love out of you and me. Don’t drink the devils cool aid he’s lost the war but Jesus won the victory...

6. Just a good Feel Good movie!!! - Not great but good I would have gave this and a half stars but whatever anyway this is a pretty good feel good movie for the family I even would say it felt like watching instant family at moments but it more like most family dramdys are today and it ok I do highly recommend it to anyone who needs positivity I highly recommend it must buy!!!!

7. YES!! —LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! - I absolutely LOVE this movie! —Just the uplifting shot in the arm I needed!!! ...And this big Dawson’s Creek fan has ALWAYS had a big crush on Katie Holmes, WHATEVER she is doing!!! Josh Lucas is wonderful. E
—On the whole a terrificly sweet and mood lightening movie!! (—And, yes, I do now want to read up more on my old copy of “The Secret” Sorry! )

8. No one is force to rent - I understand the frustration of paying $ to rent a movie to watch but do people forget the current situation where the movie makers are doing this? No one is force to rent any movie and maybe practice patience when it’s available to purchase. You pay an average of $ for movie tickets per person but I rent this at home for people to watch in the confort of our own home. We even watched it multiple times and save money on gas and snacks at the theater. I read this book about years ago and my family enjoyed this movie. Worth it for us.

1. ANY other version of Little Women is better - Terrible dialogue. Terrible casting. Honestly, I wanted to like this one but it was evident about five minutes in that it would not be good. The characters are constantly interrupting each other because that is apparently the director’s style. Yeah… it came off as confusing and honestly, just bad. No effort seemed to be given into what the original story actually was. Not worth the watch.

2. This movie is awful - This movie is awful. In my opinion Greta can neither write nor direct and the editing of this movie is all over the place. If you can figure out what the plot of this movie is without having read the book (like myself) then I applaud you. The constant cuts to the flashbacks is jarring and seems to make no sense with the rest of the movie. All of the girls in the are one dimensional while also coming off as entitle spoiled brats. They claim to be poor yet their house, food, and surroundings seems to be more indicative of being more lower-middle class or just middle class. The language and some of their actions don’t match up with the time period this is supposed to be set it by any means. Also the actor who plays Laurie is dreadful in every role I’ve seen him in. Basically watching paint dry would be highly more interesting than this movie. Avoid at all costs.

3. Makes no sense - I get this is a classic, and it is about the civil war which is one of my favorite periods in American history. Which is why I’m giving it a instead of a well that and Emma Watson. I may not agree with her on some things but the woman can act. But what irks me is that this movie seems to just be about Watson’s character whining about the patriarchy and how unfair life is for her and her sisters. While year old boys are getting shot, stabbed and blown apart. And they were the lucky ones. The rest of the boys died of infected wounds and if they didn’t get you I imagine the sheer shock of amputation with nothing but alcohol for anesthesia and pain management. And in the dog days of the war people just saved your arm off with no pain meds whatsoever because they were out of them. My ancestors fought on both sides of that horror. And they did so so This girl could complain. I understand that sexism isn’t cool. I understand why she’s frustrated I’ve experienced injustice myself. But it seems like they are trying to make the whole focus of the movie about how women back then had it worse than men. Which is simply NOT true. They only people who can claim that are black people because slavery. At least that’s what I think.

4. Men Know How Strong Women Are - This production was different, not better. It diverged from linear storytelling by interrupting with flashbacks. Quality acting, beautiful sets, & lush costumes. Greta Gerwig was wonderful, as was the actress who played her mother. However, some of these talented actors seemed miscast, which made their behavior/personality come off as inconsistent. It A beautiful film effort; with a script laden with emotion. If the director intended to improve upon this classic story to convey a stronger feminist message, it was unnecessary.

5. Not sure what to make of it? - I agree with the reviewers that have stated the movie is far superior. The acting was great in this film, but it felt like they time jumped a lot. That is to say that some of the speech and overall behavior of the characters were in the right time period but then would jump to in the most politically correct ways which felt very out of place. I didn't like that. I found it jolting and disorienting. I don't understand why it was titled Little Women if it doesn't follow the book? Are these plot lines actually part of the story? I don't remember a lot of them. I feel like it should have been titled differently because with the title Little Women you expect it to follow LMA's story closely and I feel like there were an awful lot of liberties.

6. Absolutely Despise This Remake!!!!!! To the th power - I’ve watched both the and the version witch happens to be my favorite. I find that all the “little women along with their mother “ are the fakes version of the characters they are portraying. I love each and everyone of these characters with their complexities, but on this new version they destroyed each and every character. I’m trying to make a new “women’s movement version” of little women they made a forced, annoying, even nauseating characters that are as deep as a pot hole on the road and as annoying. I think these actresses are good actors in other movies but in these roles they portrayed they seem like beginners, think were done a great injustice in wasting their talent in a terribly bad script. Shame on the rewriters and producers for doing such a bad Job!!!!! I’m sad, I’m trying to pretend I never saw it.

7. Not need for a remake - I was disappointed of this new version of the movie it change the classic to a prime tv show of this days, it was like watching a common series with a change of clothing and scenery, I know it was remake for the new generation but I prefer the original book version that I fall in love with.

8. It was just amazing - It was a very nice film and had sad and funny moments. It’s just full of amazing actors and how they all just make you feel these emotions. Well, like alway Saoirse Ronan was amazing, you could tell she always just embraces the her characters so well. It’s about time she deserves an academy award! Thanks for this amazing work of art

9. Not good. - I wanted to love this movie, but the jumping around in time was hard to follow and did not lend itself to endearing the March sisters to the viewers. The version is far superior and will always be. Chamlet was a terrible choice for Laurie and I never got the sense that Jo and Laurie were best of friends. So sad, because it was beautifully shot and the actors were great.

10. The best - This movie is so beautiful. The relationships between the sisters is so relatable and very pleasant to watch. The romance was played well. Not over the top but also not underwhelming. This was my first time watching Little Women. The ending was beautiful and it made me cry. When Jo hugged her book in the end I knew it was for Beth. I would recommend this movie to everyone.

11. A Masterpiece - Every second of this film was beautiful. I laughed and cried. I never wanted it to end. I felt like I was transported into a new world. I may not know the book, and I lot's of people probably hate that. But sometimes you have to enjoy the book and the movie in different context. Long story short, go experience it for yourself.
2020-04-29
12. So boring - It’s amazing that these famous actresses who are otherwise so talented could ruin a movie so badly. I couldn’t even finish the movie all the way through. I had zero emotional investment in these characters, and the timeline jumps just added to it. They were horribly cast in so many ways. Thank God for the version with Susan Sarandon and Winona Ryder - I must watch it now to cleanse my palette of this watered down version that ruins each character with every passing scene.
2020-04-24
13. love love LOVE this movie - greta gerwig is an absolute genius with her use of color/lighting and the way she accurately portrays sister relationships. saoirse is fantastic in this movie and the scene where laurie confesses his love for jo is so raw and well-done. i loved this fresh take on little women and i highly recommend!!
2020-04-15
14. Great job! - I like how they made Jo or Saoirse Ronan the main character. I own the book and it has a quote of something Jo said. It reads, “I’ll try to be what he loves to call me, ‘a little woman’, and not be rough and wild; but do my duty here instead of wanting to be somewhere else,” said Jo, thinking that keeping her temper at home was a much harder task than facing a rebel or two down South. -From Little Women. Nice! I think it’s great they made her strong at heart and brilliant at mind. Recommended to those who like the book and stand up for women stories. (Changed it up a bit but I liked it. Great talent)

15. A movie to be remembered - My favorite film growing up was Practical Magic. It was about sisters and family and it’s very nostalgic for me. It was the film of my childhood. This film is the film of my adulthood. When I watch it in twenty years it will flood back the memory’s I have experienced will watching it just as Practical Magic does. This film makes you long for and remember the days when you didn’t have a care and life didn’t seem to have an end. I’ve never seen the previous makes of Little Women. And I don’t want to. This is the Little Women I will watch again and again. And cry at again and again. This review carried on way to long just go watch the film and smile.

16. Well acted and worth watching - I had not seen any previous version of this movie. (Unless you count Clueless) I thought the actors and actresses in this movie were believable and the cinematography was beautiful. The costumes were beautiful. I saw the film on cable a few days later. I enjoyed both movies but I felt that the version had a better flow to the story telling and acting.

17. I watched, and watched and watched... - ...and waited, and waited and waited for something to happen but it never did. Having wasted my money, I decided I wouldn’t waste my time as well. Somehow I managed to watch one hour of this disappointing film before I turned it off and put an end to my torture.
2020-04-04
18. Nope.... - I have watched every version of Little Women and this is my least liked of them all. This beautiful classic has been ripped apart and put back together in such a fragmented, non linear way that the viewer never understands the beauty of the original story....that of growing into your true self and talents based heavily on the lives of the Alcotts. Pretty sure Louisa May Alcott is turning in her grave seeing what has been done to the book that made her famous. The actress playing Amy is poorly cast with her deep manly voice, Saoirse also miscast with blonde locks, blue eyes for Jo and too mumbling. Emma Watson would have made a good Meg, if they had directed her better and kept the storyline closer to the novel. Overall avoid and watch the earlier version for the true spirit and charm of this beloved classic.
2020-03-23
19. The original was better - Although, I do love to see some of the new actors/actresses, the old version was much better. The ease of that version and following along in order, plus the actresses/actors were much better chosen. Laura Dern is a wonderful actress but does not fulfill the part of Marmie as well as Susan Sarandon. Aside from Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson and Meryl Streep, the remainder of the cast seems ill fit in there rolls. The original, chose the right actor/actresses for the parts and they brought those characters to life. I wanted to love this movie but couldn’t.
