1. Long overdue listen - My boyfriend has been raving about TAZ since I've met him and I was always hesitant to listen. I wasn’t into D&D and it just didn’t seem like my cup of tea. After running out of episodes from my own podcasts, I decided to try TAZ. I have binged every episode/arc over the past two months and it has been WORTH IT. These guys are hilarious and know to keep someone entertained even if they aren’t into role playing games. The stories are well thought out and the characters are amazing. Even if D&D isn’t your thing, TRY THIS. Now one of my favorite podcasts!!!
2023-02-23
2. Not good. At all - Sorry but I tried to get into the voices but these guys can’t keep a string of thought longer than seconds without seguing somewhere else or being interrupted by each other. It reminds me of all the hours wasted back when I’d play P&P RPGs waiting to get to the meat of the game. People who really need to listen to themselves speak, I guess.
2023-02-19
3. Mostly good with some stumbles - The Balance campaign will always be iconic, and Amnesty is absolutely amazing. Graduation was fine, but was an example of a first time DM biting off more than he could chew. Ethersea honestly didn’t really grab me, although the mini-world building campaign they did using the quiet year was spectacular. Unfortunately, the current steeplechase lost me and I stopped listening. I’ll probably come back for the next campaign.
2023-02-03
4. Try Steeplechase - Solid plug for the new storyline, Steeplechase. Justin knocks it out of the park with the voices ( voices by episode ), and the camaraderie is clear to see. Getting to do an awesome RPG with you brothers is one thing, but getting to do it with your dad is a whole different level. Long time listener, long time fan, and if you’re on the fence, I’m here to say just give it a go. What’s the worse that could happen? You laugh a lot?
2023-02-03
5. TAZ IS THE BEST - I was hooked immediately when the show was still on the Balance arc. I binge listened to catch up so I could ball my eyes out at the finale on the parking lot of my work. Since then I’ve loved their family banter and amazing creative work. All arcs from balance, to ether sea have all been outstanding. I can’t wait to see where Steeplechase takes us.
2023-01-26
6. Awesome - It took me a while to listen (coming from MBMBAM) but once I did I was completely hooked. There are so many amazing arcs and the creativity of the stories is just incredible. All the characters are super easy to become attached to and I get so immersed even when I listen at work. Fantastic work as always from the McElroy’s and their amazing crew.

7. THE THEME IS IMMACULATE - Y’all.. oh my god. I’ve been a listener since way back in the early MBMBAM days and TAZ has been such a joy but the theme for this season??? THE THEME SONG FOR STEEPLE CHASE IS SUCH A BOP. Whoever is creating these theme songs??? Is so incredibly talented and I hope you show them this.

8. Perfect Entry-Level RP - These boys and their father have fabulous comedic and dramatic chemistry. Their attempts to play more tightened down, serious scenes or campaigns can feel tonally confusing at best, the light-hearted, goof filled majority of the programming is an absolute treasure for anyone turned off by more serious roleplay. Not to mention anyone who is new to D&D gets to learn the basics along with them during Balance! I'd have to say my favorite arcs / campaigns have been early Balance, Amnesty, Hootenanny, and Lords of Crunch. Steeplechase has been absolutely incredible so far! Justin has a distinct understanding of how to keep things dramatically engaging while still allowing for copious amounts of levity. Love these boys (and their progenitor). p.s. please no more guests
2022-12-20
9. Hysterical and heartwarming- born storytellers - I’ve now listened to every episode of the series a few times and look forward each week to the new releases. Every season has been distinct and really good, and I love hearing how each of the wonderful family members brings something incredible to the imaginary table.
2022-12-08
10. Funniest Adventuring Group - I cannot put to words how funny this show is — I’ve been at work listening and get slack messages to stop laughing so much I shake the desks. I’m way behind, only episode , and when Travis stops to take a call and the others do golf announcer voices I had to go home and change my pants. I love this show
2022-12-06
11. Justin is doing so well! - I know some TAZ fans get a little iffy when griff isn't DMing but to be clear all three brothers Clint have been great DMs! Justin’s new venture into his own full campaign is going amazing and I’m so proud of this world he’s created. I just started college and it’s super amazing to see these guys start out on a new journey as well :)

12. TAZ is a great show - Steeplechase has been a great arc and I love the dming style. I also love the sense of homebrew that TAZ creates. The constant interruptions add a sense of humor and I love it. When beef ripped of the pipe it was epic and I was surprised on the fact he was able to do a feat of superhuman strength. While I was trying to sleep this podcast kept me up and intrigued.

Brennan Lee Mulligan, Erika Ishii, Aabria Iyengar, and Lou Wilson hang out together and use games to make up stories. It's pretty good.

Comments
1. Amazing Content - This may seem presumptuous with only primary episodes and the patreon content, but after listening to each one twice, I can say that this show is not only entertaining, but a master class in storytelling and audio editing. The narrative is interesting and fun, and everyone’s investment and commitment level is so high that it drips with sincerity and quality.
2023-03-23
2. Incredible Storytelling - I have been a huge fan of Dimension for years. These four storytellers certainly do not disappoint. The chemistry between Brennan Lee Milligan, Erika Ishii, Aabria Iyengar, and Lou Wilson is off the charts. I am so happy that they are all sharing a platform to build a world that we can all enjoy. Brennan Lee Mulligan has honed his craft as a Game Master for years, and his ability to listen to the narrative beats while managing the creative chaos will always be a highlight for me. Erika Ishii throws herself into her character and her background in voice acting allows her really help a listener imagine the world. Her energy always moves the story forward. Aabria Iyengar is an accomplished Game Master in her own right, but her ability to play powerful characters rooted in vulnerability is something that really sets her apart in this space. Lou Wilson’s gregarious passion for the genre is infectious as always. He has the amazing ability to find a joke or a comedic beat, while always bringing it back to the story that they’re all creating together. Finally, the soundtrack for this podcast deserves a shoutout as well. It does an awesome job of setting the pace for the entire enterprise. This is a space for people who love great stories.

3. A Masterclass In World Building, Story Telling, and Character - Anyone who like TTRPG content, anyone who enjoys high fantasy, anyone who enjoys engaging fiction, anyone who has ever enjoyed telling a story by a fire, anyone who has fond memories of summers spent running through fields will enjoy this podcast. It has only just begun but it is destined to go down in history as one of the best audio experiences ever created. Even if you have never heard the names Brennan Lee Mulligan, Aabria Iyengar, Lou Wilson, or Erika Ishii (which if you haven’t there’s this wonderful little thing called Dropout where you can find hundreds of hours of content involving them, both TTRPG related and not) you will fall in love with their dynamic, their stories, and their characters. I highly suggest subscribing to the Patreon to listen to the Children’s Adventure. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more invested in the lives of fictional characters than I feel about Ame, Suvi, and Eursulon. This is the sound of Worlds Beyond Number.
2023-03-15
4. Immersive Storytelling - The sound design is truly immersive and the scoring is beautiful! I already feel like I live in this world. I want to live in this world and sit with these characters for days. This is only the kind of project that comes from a team that really loves and trusts each other. It’s incredibly clear. If anyone is on the fence about hopping on the Patreon, it’s incredibly worth it, just for the children’s adventure alone, but I know there will be even more incredible things to come. This is a game, sure. But it’s moreso a story told through improv with people who know each other’s creative minds intimately. I don’t think there’s anything as good as that out there. I’m so so excited to hear the adventure continue.
2023-03-14
5. Beautiful, hilarious, listen!! - I was so excited for this podcast to come out, my expectations were sky high. Sky. High. Four of my favorite role players/DMs telling long stories together?! Amazing. The only way they could live up to my high hopes would be if they literally spun gold. My friends, they spun platinum and sent it straight to my ears. I envy you if you haven’t yet listened, you have the joy of the first listen to look forward to. Also, join the Patreon and listen to the Children’s Adventure. The full episodes are already up. It’s heartwrenchingly heartwarmingly hilariously lovely.

6. The creators will never see this but... - This is one of the most moving pieces of media I've ever consumed, and I mean that with my whole heart. These folks will forever outdo themselves with each project they make. As someone who struggles with graphophobia, it means just that much more when I say these people and this story inspires me to write my own. It is healing, it is bursting with life, it is beautiful beyond means: it is worlds beyond number!
2023-03-14
7. TTRPG storytelling MADE FOR AUDIO - As someone who has listened to hundreds of hours of TTRPG that was made for video, I now know what I was missing. The storytelling in this single episode is brilliant, but what makes this exceptional is the production, the soundtrack, and the thousand details that you can only hear. This recalls an era of broadcast storytelling on radio, and I encourage you all to gather round and immerse yourselves in the story.
2023-03-12
8. Aurally piercing my heart - What this group of people created is a wholly incredible podcast experience. They recommended using your best headphones to listen, and as someone who typically listens in car, this suggestion is correct. While my car is fine, the depth of audio engineering that goes into these episodes can be missed with out the full attention that headphones allow for. Best first episode of a podcast ever.
2023-03-12
9. sob I love them so much - One day I am going to get through an episode without crying, but not today. I love these children so much and can’t wait to see who they become. I've been listening to Children’s Adventure episodes (do yourself a favor and support them on Patreon) twice, once for the story, and once to learn how to be a better DM.
2023-03-11
10. My New Go To - Seeing the creators behind Worlds Beyond Number I knew I was going to be in for something amazing. But these have really outdone even my expectations!! The world is so easy to get lost in, the characters are dynamic and lovable, the story is captivating and all wrapped up in the beautiful voices and acting of some of the best TTRPG players in the game. I can’t wait to listen to this adventure (and the many future) for years to come!!!
2023-03-09
11. Storytelling at its finest - I originally heard about this podcast because I’m a fan of the cast from some of their other work. Knowing what they are capable of, I had high hopes going into the first episode, and was not disappointed! In fact, they blew me away, even beyond my expectations. The characters are well-defined, vividly described by their actors and expertly played in evocative scenes that introduce us to them. The setting and all the other characters are described and played by the game master, indeed a master of his craft. Yes, this is a Dungeons & Dragons podcast, but if that make you think “oh, not for me” I’ll ask you to give it a chance. D&D isn’t the reason or the star here, it is just a tool to tell a story in audio form, as much as the mics and earphones. The last - minutes alone are a masterclass in how to do audio storytelling - the acting, the revelations, the stakes being raised for the story to come, hints of unrevealed mysteries being introduced, and the sound ramping up behind it all, practically a character in its own right. Am I overselling it? Maybe. But it is REALLY good. If you like actual plays, if you like audio fiction, if you like epic fantasies, if you’re curious what playing with the limits of the medium looks like, or if you’re just looking for something new, this is worth checking out. Give it a chance.

12. Thank you - Coming straight here after finishing the Children’s Adventure (which absolutely wrecked my emotions - friendship is magic ) During an IG live, I’m pretty sure the gang said you don’t have to listen to the CA to enjoy the main story, but my completionist spirit (and my absolute adoration for the gang) would not allow me to jump right into the main story. Those episodes alone are absolutely worth the Patreon in addition to the fireside chats (and all the other goodies that I’m sure they’ll post there) the amount of times I gasped, wept, or full-on sobbed is ridiculous, but that proves just how good this entire production is (nvm the fact that I have the emotional capacity of a bean ) That being said, I truly hope everyone who is into not just the game aspect of DND but also the fantastically moving and profound roleplay will give Worlds Beyond Number a chance, because the way in which these storytellers and producers weave words and audio mixing is pure art, and it is a joy that everyone deserves to experience. Thank you so so much to everyone involved in this production. Truly, your storytelling inspires me

When Gloria took a waitressing job at a diner outside of Phoenix, she didn't realize she was now an employee of Midnight Burger, a time-traveling, dimension-spanning diner. Every day Midnight Burger appears somewhere new in the cosmos along with it's staff: a galactic drifter, a rogue theoretical physicist, a sentient old-timey radio, and some guy named Caspar. No one knows who built Midnight Burger or how it works, but when it appears there's always someone around who could really use a cup of ...

1. Came back really strong after a lull - Truly well done. This show has really hit its stride. I just finished Ep. and it was great. I love the length of the episode. I confess the TED plot line was a little long in the tooth. And I don’t really understand the dark period after. Shell was a wonderful addition and I always kind of thought Clementine might be Shell. You have really hit your stride several episodes back and are really doing it!

2. Just gets better and better - Love it all - the sci-fi, the philosophy, complex characters, wonderfully wild settings and situations, the feminism, the humanism, the Christianity that corresponds with all of that. Deals with the beautiful and the horrible, mundane and surreal - usually in the span of a single episode.
2023-03-04
3. Broad Story, Deep Character Development - This is the podcast that got me interested in listening to podcast fiction. It is a great story with surprises revealed and many still developing. But its best aspect is the cast, their interactions, and the deep motivations that drive their behaviors. Thank you!

4. Amazing and fresh - This show is my audio drama of all time (equal with The Amelia Project) it’s laugh out loud funny all the time, the characters have so much relatable depth and every episode is a masterpiece of it’s own! Midnight burger makes a me crave a diner and the next episode immediately !!

5. Face show - I’ve listened to each episode x I just play it over & over & over. It’s almost like comforting to me now that’s how great the show is ! I wish it was coming to Netflix lol / highly recommend. I love AVA & Casper so much. Ok that is all. My only complaint is that I want new episodes everyday but that’s impossible

6. The Journey Of the Story - This show is a fantastic journey through universe. The ties between every nook and cranny are very well rounded. The plot is on point and the audio is perfect. Even without really knowing back stories in season one the show was great but as season two and three went… that character development?! Way on point. If I ever ran into midnight burger, I’d definitely live out that fantasy. stars

7. Great show great writing - Really fantastic audio design and script writing takes you on a fantastic journey. wish I had enough disposable income to support this fantastic project. Really great job. I’m a devout atheist and really enjoyed it so don’t worry it’s not preachy but I think the use of religion as a plot point is really effective. Keep up the good work y’all.
2022-12-01
8. Hard to describe, but oh so good! - It’s a funny sci-fi soap opera. Or something like that. Anyway, it is great! The story is so unique yet so engrossing. The writing is great and the acting is wonderful. I can’t say enough how much I love it! And each episode draws you in more. You really start to care about the characters.
2022-11-06
9. Craziest Premise with Hilarious Characters! - This is so fun and funny. I love each and every Character! You couldn’t leave one of them out…they all play off of each other so well. Each episode has its own story based on where they SPOILER …you’ll have to listen to find out what that is! Stars

10. A must listen to podcast - don’t miss out - I’m fairly new to podcasts and happened upon Midnight Burger…best per chance watch ever…great characters, great storyline, and amazing actors. Couldn’t even try to pick a favorite…whatever you are watching now, stop and watch! I can’t wait for season !

11. Midnight Magic - Midnight Burger is an amazingly deep, witty, and exciting podcast and it’s probably my favorite show ever. The writing is fabulous and it’s made up of those conversations that we have when we are up late at night looking into the vastness with a friend, when suddenly you strike up a conversation of wonder that makes you think past our existence. The show makes you want to believe. There are some words and lines that speak within me, the kind of words that resonante with your spirit and make you feel a slight tremble that causes your hair to rise. Excellent.
2022-09-01
12. Fun and Chaotic - So this is actually a really lovely and funny podcast. It kind of took the surrealism of The Far Meridian and the comedy of Wooden Overcoats and turned that mix into a great sci-fi series. And it definitely has the production value of those two podcasts as well. Looking forward to the next episodes! Update: So sometimes when podcasts start to have more a plot than “crazy things happen sometime” it gets less touching and calming. That’s not what happens here. The writers, the actors, and sound designers put so much love and car that it keeps getting better. It keeps getting deeper. I absolutely relisten to the more isolated early episodes, but I enjoy the more plot driven episodes just as much. Looking forward to more of the adventure!

1. Great but takes getting use too - Just need to say this is written and acted really well. Great production value and just quality all around. Just a great Batman story. I do question most of the choices for the voice actors however. While good it was a bit jarring sometimes. Robin kept fluctuating from putting on a semi male voice to a straight woman’s voice. Commissioner Gordon was just Kenan Thompson’s character in The Grinch. Batman was ok, but it’s hard to hold a candle to Kevin Conroy.

2. Amazing! - Hands-down one of the best audio dramas I’ve heard. The characters come to life, the reinventions of classic details are brilliant, the story is compelling, and the overall mood gracefully juggles laugh-out-loud humor with Gotham City’s signature gloom. I wish there was an album of all the fantastic original music! If you are a fan of the Batmaniverse, this is the podcast for you. I can’t wait to hear what happens next in life and death in Gotham City!

4. The most entertaining Batman adaptation since the animated series. - I just finished part of season and could NOT be more excited for part . Discovering the first season felt so bittersweet as it was only accessible on the HBO Max app back then and nobody seemed to be talking about it. The writing is so sharp and repeat proof you can create an immersive Batman adaptation without creating original characters to take the place of established Gotham citizens (looking at you, Rachel Dawes) or trying to reinvent the wheel. This makes when the podcast does reinvent a character or moment in Bathistory so earned and so entertaining. The cast is perfect, but Brent Spiner deserves recognition for what might be the biggest comeback in voiceover history. His performance in the original run of Young Justice as Joker was panned by many, myself included — Brent’s Joker in this podcast is the most exhilarating classic portrayal since Mark Hamill, and it’s an energy he carried over to Young Justice season without a doubt. Bradley Whitford’s Scarecrow deserves equal mention, with twists to his character feeling handwritten to my wishes from a horror-oriented Batman villain, but at risk of spoiling the second season I won’t go into detail there. SO ready to see what else is in store from Life and Death in Gotham City.

5. Best podcast I’ve heard so far! - So I just got a phone and discover a thing called a podcast. After discovering what my phone could do I saw podcast and found this and it is so good, even though I’m on ep: it is really good so far. The plot and story is so good. Also Chris Parnell is the narrator which I love, his voice just fits in so in my opinion, I give this a

6. Where’s the other episodes? - I like that they put this show from HBOmax to this platform. like looney tunes thanksgiving special, but the looney tunes are complete. This isn’t, why? Is is deleted or never released. From what I see on this app. They forgot or never released the other . Please fix. Especially if it’s yanked of HBOmax.

7. Best Podcast Ever! - And also the first one I ever listened too. I’m not even at double digits and this was an amazing way to start of my love for podcasts. The only nitpick I have is that you have to subscribe to HBO MAX to listen. I mean I have it but I don’t want to listen the big screen. Also now you should take it off because the whole discovery thing is happening. But it is very family friendly and I even chuckled a few times. There may be something’s that go over little ones heads but I was fine, I’m really old.

8. Best pod cast that dc made - I like this series I’m hoping for episodes ,,, or any more episodes or future seasons has either deathstroke, dead shot, firefly, scarecrow, bane, black mask, manbat, or any villain in Batman’s rogues gallery shows up in this series because you can even make an actual animated series out of it

9. One of the most interesting Batman podcasts ever ! - One of the most interesting podcasts ever! I love how it has a very vintage theme to it with the audio. And it is only two episodes. Unfortunately, I want to hear more however these two episodes are absolutely brilliant. I would definitely recommend it to any other fellow Batman lover!

10. Breath of fresh air - As a Batman fan, I quite enjoyed this series, fresh humor, incredible sound mixing, and Jeffery Wright all make this series fantastic! ( this probably doesn’t help with literally all of the others saying this but to finish this show you need HBO max that’s why I demoted star)

11. A parody… - … if it feels like an overthought Saturday Night Live sketch, check out the cast, rife with SNL people. It’s just as well they won’t release the whole series (it’s an attempt to get you to buy a separate subscription) because it’s a goofy attempt to recreate the cheesy s sitcom version.

1. Why Rude Tales? - Easily one of my top three TTRPG–RP podcasts. It’s equal parts surreal, heartfelt, thoughtful, weird, and disgusting (n.b., all positive characteristics.) It’s also a profound example of how the D&D rules can be used to serve storytelling first, despite the stereotype that they can’t. I am genuinely in awe of the creative achievements this show makes.
2022-08-26
2. Fun party, miserable GM - A genuinely fun and goofy romp starring a cast of unlikely heroes with decent chemistry is always fun to hear. Their approaches to the bizarre and disgusting world they find themselves in are as entertaining enough, but even the good vibes from the players can’t overpower the funk of the GM’s narrative choices. I’m in no way passing a moral judgment on the GM for liking the overindulgent gore and visceral depressing nature of the story he wanted to write, I just don’t find it fun to keep coming back to how miserable he’s trying to make each party member at the cost of character development. The needless graphic cruelty gets old pretty fast, and almost every non hostile NPC the main cast speaks to has a decent chance of dying horribly. Which in itself isn’t necessarily bad, but the constant need to up the ante on the grossness and unfairness of it got old pretty fast. At least they’re sponsored by liquor services so you can take a shot every time the GM describes something as “the most horrible thing you’ve ever seen”

3. Love the show, can’t stand Albee - I think the show is hilarious but Albee’s character drives me crazy. I feel like she steals the spotlight at every opportunity in order to pursue maybe the least interesting character arc. Also there’s tons of great NPCs whose mistreatment by the PCs actually makes me angry. The DM literally lets them get away with murder. stars because it’s still a great show.
2022-01-29
4. Not your Grand-pappy’s dungeons and dragons! - Rude tales of magic is probably the single greatest concentration of comedy it is possible to create via ttrpg podcast. It is the first podcast I ever listened to, and looking back I think that was a very solid call. The laughs alone would be well worth the price of admission, but it’s also woven into a story with brilliant writing, lavish and fantastic backgrounds and worldbuilding, and madcap characters that never fail to delight and surprise. All of the Player characters are fun and creative while holding surprising depth and arcs of character growth that make them feel viscerally human and organic; even the literal skeleton man. If you like madcap humor, a profound contempt for “rules” of games, incredibly polished improv performances, and listening to people process their issues with the Catholic Church via satirical worldbuilding, check out Rude Tales of Magic.

5. One of the best! - Absolutely top tier. I’ve listened to many DnD pods and this was almost immediately top for me. The cast is incredible. They play their parts so well and they’re all genuinely funny and make an amazing experience. I was even a patron for a bit. I get the feeling the cast are all coastal lefty types, which comes out in their characters and riffing occasionally (like Bellow making laws. I wanted to scream lol), so I doubt they’d like me but I like them and they make me laugh so I’ll get over it.

6. MBMBAM brought me here - This group bought a domain that was mentioned on another podcast I listen to. Anyways I gave them a try and I really like it! They're really funny and aren't as bogged down in the gameplay mechanics as some shows. As someone who listens to DND podcasts but doesn't actually play I find this really refreshing and fun to listen to. It was funny from the first scene and hasn't disappointed so far! It's a fun listen!!

7. The best TRPG podcast period - This is the funniest ish of my whole life but it’s also a super engaging and enchanting story and the music is fantastic. I want everyone to listen to this podcast tbh. I laugh myself to tears at least once per episode and I also sometimes shed regular tears. This is the good stuff.
2021-09-29
8. Such a fun and well acted podcast - I’ve had such a great time listening to this podcast. The characters are well played and they have good chemistry between them. The DM is outstanding and does a great job of making it a good experience for the listener. I especially like how he uses film terms to orient your imagination in regards to what the camera is doing. Keep up the good work!
2021-07-22
9. Albee is so annoying - This is a great D&D podcast other than an extremely annoying character called Albee that cant seem to decide what she wants to become. She seems to interrupt every interesting situation and adventure with her self esteem issues and indecisiveness. This become very distracting and annoying and takes away from the character development of all the other players. Albee needs to die to free the others. Die Albee die!
2021-06-26
10. Is it unhealthy to listen this much to rude tales? - I would not only die for stirfry, but for the whole cast, rest of the characters, and production. One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to!
my only complaint would be that plot focuses more on Albee and her story than anything else, but still great to listen to
2021-06-16
11. i love these idiots - if you can’t jive with PCs making very ill advised and dumb actions then you’re not gonna like this one. the PCs are selfish and immature and dumb and we love them for it!!!!! very beginner d&d friendly, you don’t have to worry too much about numbers and rules, the focus is more on role-playing. also the music is AMAZING!!!!!!!! stir fry is daddy and no i will not explain lol

12. possibly the best D&D podcast !!?? - The chemistry of each person in this podcast is outstanding. Every episode is exciting and funny. And the soundtrack and added in background noises really wraps the story in a beautiful package. I listen to a couple of other D&D podcasts, but this is by far my favorite!

The Amelia Project is a secret agency that fakes its clients' deaths, then lets them reappear with a brand new identity! A black comedy full of secrets, twists... and cocoa. The series starts as a succession of interviews with clients who want to fake their deaths, then slowly a larger narrative begins to emerge... Each episode tells its own story, but we recommend starting with Season 1.

1. Such a unique concept - I’ve read a lot of reviews commenting on how they don’t like how they have to ’pay for the ending’ of each episode but personally, I find they’re missing the idea of what the Amelia Project is about. Sure, they help people disappear, but they collect STORIES. And that’s what we get in the podcasts, people’s stories. I hate cliffhangers as much as the next person but I LOVE that I don’t get to know what happens after the interview. I get a full story and the rest can be left to my imagination, effectively challenging my brain. / one of my favorite podcasts

2. Amazing - This show is so good I don’t even have the words to describe how happy I am to have found something so witty, well-written, well acted, and with great storylines. After a series of misses with promising podcasts that turned out to be disappointments in one way or another, this one hits the mark spot on. My most favorite thing is the different renditions of the theme — seriously whoever writes those is a flippin genius. I doff every hat I own to you folks (because I would put on every hat just to make this gesture to you). Excellent, excellent work. Small edit: a looooot of talking before and after the episodes. Snooze. Also, please don’t say, “here is the epilogue.” Let us find the surprise at the end. Thanks. Also, cut out the “when we last left our heroes…” bit. It’s just more talking and very cheesy.

3. Amazing reward - I love this show so much that I’m only allowed to listen to it as a reward- usually going to the gym. Whenever a new episode is out I know it’s time to go and be a healthy human being so I can listen to the next instalment! It’s that good that I happily do things I hate to listen !

4. The interviewer kinda ruins it. - This show is witty, interesting, funny, and well written. The episodes are definitely entertaining and wonderful vignettes that weave together well into an overarching plot line. The only drawbacks are the mouth sounds in EVERY EPISODE are gross and cringe inducing (cocoa slurping and moaning right after, smacking on malteses and other food can be a bit much and even repulsive) and the interviewer’s over the top metaphors/exclamations/ rhyming attempts can be corny and kind of obnoxious. I know it’s part of his character as intelligent and eclectic, but the slurp/moan/ smacking combo plus his exclamations in EVERY episode almost make me wish he wasn’t the main character. The slurping/smacking/moaning sounds are literally DISGUSTING and I’ve felt sick more than once listening to this show.

5. Wow! - This show is amazing. It’s funny, smart and lighthearted. The acting is great, the writing is superb, and the value you get from supporting them on patreon is unparalleled. If you’re a fan of The Penumbra, Wolf , or just good ol’ dark humor, this podcast is for you. Check it out. You won’t regret it.

6. Obsessed with this podcast - If you love audio fiction podcasts you’re in for a treat here. Heck, you’re in for a treat even if you’re not into that genre (yet)! Funny, charming, quirky, and full of delightful absurdism. I subscribed to their Patreon because I started running out of show, and they’re very generous with the extra content. One thing I wonder about though is if the writers secretly work for a cocoa company, because I’ve definitely started drinking it most days. suspicious. Listen and find out what that reference means :-)

7. Top Tier Comedy - This is one of the funniest, most charming shows out there. Ever wondered what it would be like to try and fake your own death? Don't worry, let the madcap team at The Amelia Project help. Every week there's a new client, a new zany plan, and a new bit of intrigue. Alan Burgon as The Interviewer is voice acting perfection. He captures the Holmesian obsession with Not Being Bored perfectly and has the pure charm to make the characer endearing rather than annoying. Everything else about the show is done just as well. In particular, there are variations on the theme music that made me laugh out loud or smile ear to ear. This show is truly one of the heavy hitters, and is among the short list that I would recommend to friends who have never listened to a podcast before to introduce them to what they can be.

8. Charming, Witty, and Slightly Spooky - Do you enjoy a charming cast of well-meaning, deep-pocketed social outcasts? Do you love air-tight, daringly impossible escape plans? If you do, then this is the podcast for you. It’s like a warm bubble bath with a soupçon of psychopaths, criminals, and spine-tingling deaths. It’s the addictive, heart-warming tale of a secret society faking deaths that you didn’t know you needed!
2020-11-09
9. Spooky Funny Mysterious - I’ve never written a review for a podcast before but you need to know how perfectly great this podcast is! My only complaint is that their aren’t MORE episodes! I binged it in only a few days! Perfect combo of spooky funny and mysterious and it’s got the fun tape recorder cast type. So grab your fanciest cocoa and prepare to plan for for your death and new life... but only if it’s interesting enough... and you can pay of course

10. Where’s My Cocoa! - Im writing this during the COVID- pandemic. I’m home a lot like the rest of the world. This is the second time I’m listening to the Amelia Project as I am burnt out on creepy and apocalyptic podcasts. This show is so well done, complete with wit, humor, sarcasm and lots is Cocoa. The quality of the background sounds go nicely in tune with each episode, never overwhelming or pitchy. Great job!
2020-09-13
11. Delightfully experimental - Really enjoy the show. I consider myself well versed in podcast fiction and this show is unique. I really enjoy the creator’s experimentation in each episode. Whether it’s self realization, disjointed time, or breaking the th wall, it’s well done. Even the behind the scenes episodes have little surprises. Give this show a whirl you won’t be disappointed.

1. The best - I want all of you to be my friend! Shout out to Ranger Ranger and Not Petyr Baelish. My favorite guest appearances. 2. One of the best fantasy series ever (including books and movies) - This podcast has brought me so much joy over the year. It’s funny, and it also does some deep dives into complex characters. The player and NPC acting is amazeballs. The GM roles with the punches, too. I’ve learned a lot of techniques that I’ll put to good use on my next campaign. Plus, it stimulates the imagination. I daydream a ton, and my stories now have much more flair and details. Also, episodes are highly re-listenable. Great job!

3. Fun and funny adventure - This seemed too crude for me to enjoy at first but it grew on me over time and is now my favorite D&D adventure, beating other more famous ones. It's a long term adventure, not a defined arc that ends in or fewer episodes, and the DM and players are in it for the long term and the characters have grown over time and had countless great adventures. Both the DM and players are talented and committed. Worth a try if you enjoy D&D.

4. I’m sad. - I really liked this podcast until season . I really thought and had high hopes that Ryan(butthole) was going to play a cool new character that didn’t have to do anything with farts. I just reached . and just heard his new character and its just not doing it for me. I can’t keep on going and listening to another fart joke. I really loved the show tho and special guest they were all great. Ryan is just killing it for me. I want to keep on going but his new character just doesn’t make me want to hear anymore. I want to skip but I love listening to the story and I can’t skip without skipping the story.

5. By Moonhammer, this podcast stinks…real good. - This podcast starts in Phandalin with the Lost Mine of Phandelver, but the story diverts and finds its own way. Leaning heavily on comedy, it’s a pretty fun take, despite relying heavily on a long running fart joke. To be fair, there’s a lot more than hot air here, and the DM, players, and guests are all having fun and manage to weave a story worth listening to.
2022-07-26
6. Improv is not chaos - Ryan ruins this series in the most consistent ways. First of all is his insistence on using meta information to force the natural flow of “events” into weird, uncomfortable sequences. It’s amazing how the cleric character, despite being an intellectual idiot, knows so much information about people and things that he shouldn’t. But hey, somebody said it out loud at the table, so I guess he can use it, amirite? Ryan also delights in bringing that same uncomfortableness to any situation, regardless of the “ character”, which are all the same as the cleric, with his nd grade potty humor and th grade sexual innuendo to derail any of the MINIMAL necessary focus these types of stories need. The most disappointing thing about the whole situation is how the story writer ( I can’t call him a dungeon master) just lets Ryan take over at any point for his own immature spotlighting. I really like the other characters, and most of the guest players are genuinely funny, but this idea that Improv MUST be uncomfortable is flat out stupid. The fact that one “player/actor” is able to drive this story in any direction his childish and narcissistic whims desires really ruins this podcast. I listened to almost seasons, constantly second skipping whenever the cleric started his spiel, to give this thing a chance, because the idea, while incredibly derivative ( Hello, Canada) was an entertaining one. No more. I can’t Hate Binge it any longer.

7. I love it but - I absolutely love this show, I’ve listened to it for over a year now and never miss any. I still love all of the characters and how they’ve grown and developed over time. However, the new season just doesn’t hit the way the old ones do. Everyone is as amazing as ever in their acting, but the characters are entirely TOO powerful. There is no real excitement listening to them fight because they almost never miss and their damage is astronomical. I miss the first few seasons when they had to come up with wacky plans and they actually faced true danger in a fight. Would love to see this show continue with new weaker characters or new campaign. I definitely don’t wish for it to end.

8. All in good fun! - I haven’t caught up to the most recent stuff yet, but this podcast has been getting me through a lot of long walks - which is the main thing I leave my house for, these days! While I find it difficult to say some of the characters names, the way they play with the world and interact with each other is pure joy.
2020-11-28
9. Shutthole - Excellent creative and professional DM, the Quin and Alyn characters are alluring and often charming. The guest characters are great. Butthole is funny enough, but dominates this show to the point where the others’ humor and creativity and improvisation are buried in his farts. He even controls the other characters’ actions, as if he’s the only player, and at time overpowers the dm. This is so contrary to the spirit of collaboration which makes dnd joyful that I’m not sure I can continue listening. He should just have his own podcast where he plays the dm and all the characters. I might even listen to it. Let me know if he dials it back in the second season and I’ll stick around for it :)

10. A Great Example of Collaborative Storytelling - What I love most about this show is that it balances genuine characters and their believable growth, a wide variety of guests with different styles of their own, hilarious laugh-out-loud scenes, and truly heartfelt moments that make you feel for these characters and the world around them. The story is compelling and brings a smile to my face every time I listen. It’s one of my go-to podcasts to recommend not only to DnD fans, but to everyone in need of a good podcast.
2020-08-17
11. The Perfect Combo - I’ve listened to a ton of Dungeons and Dragons podcasts. This one is, by far, the greatest. The direction they take their adventures is entirely original and thrilling. Sprinkled throughout is fantastic humor that adds to an already incredible adventure. Don’t miss out on this podcast. seasons in and it hasn’t lost its magic.

12. My favorite podcast. - I’ve listened to all the episodes and this is still my favorite podcast, I have to ask will we ever see smart faerune ever again. And can you congratulate notpeterbaelish because that thunder wave was awesome and that’s still one of my favorite episodes also when are we going to see king mudbutt, yacob goodbark, lil pim pim, bryn, the cat prince? Has he disappeared forever? What’s going on with juniper, will she fade into the background, and will we ever see her again. And can we have notpete back again please? Pete was the coolest not original party member. Ps. Quincy needs a kingdom name like how butthole had Zarkan warbringer. PPS. Thanks, so much for all these podcast’s there awesome.

1. D&D Podcast Feels Like Home - This is honestly the first D&D podcast that I’ve heard that feels like I’m sitting down with a bunch of friends and playing alongside them. The witty banter, the pauses, the unexpected, and the banter between the players and America’s DM all feels real and natural to the point of coziness. If you’re looking for a podcast to laugh until you cry, I highly recommend this.

2. Low Quality Content With Absurd Amount of Advertisements - Tried to give it a chance, but the inconsistent audio quality is rough. Aside from that, while the individual bits that they publish on Tik Tok are funny, the connective tissue between those bits is weak. I would forgive a lot of the things I dislike about the show, except for the fact that the first episode of the podcast has a several minutes long explanation of their Patreon structure, as well as multiple ad-breaks. Professionally made D&D podcasts aren’t nearly as intrusive, and it feels especially egregious in light of the mediocre quality of the actual content.

3. A Scott lover ! - I love this podcast I binged it in two days ! Two days of my life went to this podcast and I don’t regret it one second , me and my dnd crew listen to this now and we love it . 4. Genuinely amazing - This podcast is the first dnd podcast to actually keep my attention. Everyone is so entertaining, funny, and clever that every episode is amazing. I love the way the characters have grown in the episodes and the genuine moments that make me tear up (as a trans dude, ep was so nice to hear). This podcast has made me want to try my hand at DMing a campaign for my little sisters who have shown interest in dnd after taking a far too long hiatus from the game. So glad Tiktok recommended this and now I'm just sad there isn't more to binge while I work. Can't wait for the next ep to come out!

5. Never Fails to make me laugh - Thanks To Otto for his Sacrifice in episode for making me tune into the podcast. Never fails to make me smile and laugh….. Especially Dex (Baron) and Clarissa (Jordyn). Dex purring is an adorable quirk. Also Sorry Jordyn for not spelling your name correctly in my head. Keep up the awesome work.

6. Came for the laughs, got so much more - I cannot explain how much I love this series. Like many of you, I found this series from their TikTok's and I thought from the clips that this series would be funny, and it very much is, but I got a lot more emotions than just humor.
I’ve recommended this series to all my friends and they’ve also come to really like it, but everyone in the cast does an amazing job of encapsulating very serious emotions and manage to walk that fine line between humor and yet being sensitive about serious topics, and I love the inclusivity.
Much love to the entire cast, and I look forward to listening to more from them!

7. Cant wait for more - This podcast gives me something to look forward to on every other tuesday. I look forward to another podcast with a similar premise on the others actually The premise is one of my favorite tropes, and the characters are all different enough without really clashing. I have to say I think Dex is the most comfortable character, but Im excited to see how everybody develops throughout the series :)

2. Keep heart, Sponser-Bot still loves us!!! - Such a well written show, that just gets better as it goes along. They mange to find the balance between silly humor and actual stakes, with a vein of heart throughout. Also, and I know it started as a silly joke, but hearing Sponser-Bot say “I love you” makes my day every single time. To the point that I noticed the ONE time they didn’t say it. You know you have a good show on your hands (ears?) when even the ad break conceit is enjoyable. Happy Brucemas, everyone!!!

3. One - You maybe confused by the title but it all as to do with the podcast, now we fix’s space junk is a great action packed podcast making the listeners more in twine with the podcast from being to end we fix space is truly a master pieces though some people may not in joy the podcast, it’s still a delightful story from characters to setting we fix space junk is a overall well written story plot. Again you may have not understood the title now it is because one represents the number of time you now you will in joy the podcast just once’s because it is an imaginative and captivating story that must watch. So again we fix space junk is a great podcast and the best part is the female in power meant the story has with to leading characters both female.

4. Love it! - Am through most of the first season. Hearing Douglas Adam’s BBC HHGTG series on the radio as a kid was a mind blower. Always on the lookout for work in the same vein. Just Finished season , and am impressed, this shares the excellent writing, subtle satire, and successful world building that made Hitchhikers a classic. My only complaint is that I wish I had their talent, always wanted to do a humor infused space radio show. They knocked it out of the proverbial park. Delighted to have found this and I highly recommend it. Keep up the great work!

5. Yes. - Give this show a listen! Smart, funny, entertaining and with great production values, it is one of my favorite fiction podcasts, up there with Alice Isn’t Dead, The Black Tapes, and Limetown! Well...Limetown Season One. It may be of a different vein the previous podcasts, but this is one of the best, currently! Worthwhile!

6. Beautiful. - I binged the entire show in about a day and then felt an intense depression that I was done. Can’t wait for it to return. I have a audio drama podcast of my own and absolutely understand how difficult sound editing and composition can be — and you are killing it. Keep on keep in’ on.

7. Consistently a favorite! - I am a bit of a podcast junkie and this show continues to be one of my top ! I have listened to all the episodes several times as well as bought & read “The Intern”. I love everything about this show. The storyline is interesting while being funny & dramatic and it is full of characters you actually care about. Can’t wait for another season!!!!

8. A Very Entertaining Space Romp - We Fix Space Junk is a podcast like any other. Automnicon is the giant galatic coporation that controls all. Two women have the thankless job of traveling from planet to planet to fix things. But the adventures they get up to are always entertaining and completely surprising. You never know where they're going to end up next, but you can be sure it'll be eye-opening.
2019-01-14
9. Quirky, modern and yet retro - I’ve only listened to the first six episodes so far but already I enjoy it so much. It’s a vibrant and unique world (a challenge to achieve in a era of sci fi podcasts) The characters are flawed but not enough to make them unrelatable. The acting is superb, the use of music excellent. Two main female characters makes it all the better. Funny, quirky, and easy to listen to. Highly recommend.
2018-12-14
10. Dark humor that won't get you down - We Fix Space Junk infuses a bleak picture of a universe dominated by an all-consuming megacorporation with humor that would be at home in a Douglas Adams book or an episode of Red Dwarf. You never know what you're going to get in a given episode, but the audio quality, the writing, and the acting are universally great. It walks the line perfectly between economic horror and satirical humor. An easy listen and an even easier recommendation.

1. So much fun - I’ve mostly ever listened to true crime podcasts with a few fiction mysteries. I need more of these in my life. I just discovered this yesterday by mistake and I am so glad I did. It’s a lot of fun. The main character is a little annoying at first but gets better. They do great in character development and the story so far is intriguing.

2. st season excellent, nd season amazing But… - The first season of Mockery Manor was absolutely enthralling. Great voice acting probably the best voice acting I have ever heard in my life. Sound design an immersive nurse completely and utterly awesome. From the beginning to the end season one was exciting interesting and hilarious. I was so excited to listen to the second season which did not disappoint. Everything remained top-notch and stellar until I got to the final episode of the season. The ending to season two Felt lazy and as if the show runners were merely looking to be done with the season. To be quite honest the ending was quite pedestrian while everything else was so first-rate. I am interested to see how season three goes and if the plot and storyline or a little bit better.

3. On the edge of my seat - Absolutely loved this series. I binged it over the past few days wanting to see where the mystery was going to go. I love the cast and how they all grew as the season went on. I also love the original music and have listened to the beginning of Tunnel of Love a few times to listen to 'Dance Like Somebody's Watching.' Let's hope a season is made

4. Amazing storytelling and catchy music! - This show is a new find for me, and I'm so happy I jumped in! It's such an immersive, gripping, vivid world and there is so much love in it. The soundtrack alone is worth listening for--seriously, ever song is a BOP! It's got s nostalgia, theme park gothic vibes, and a really fun old school murder mystery, truly what's not to love? Seriously, what are you waiting for, it's awesome!

5. Beautifully done classic-style radio play - There’s an air of menace at Mockery Manor, despite (or perhaps because of) the manufactured whimsy that underlies the theme park. The voice cast creates strong, nuanced, and easily identifiable characters in an engrossing story, while sound design and music create a brilliantly haunting atmosphere.

1. Hilariously entertaining - This show is so funny. It’s like a new age One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Very witty, great voice actors, and awesome story line. If you need a break from true crime or horror or supernatural podcasts, then definitely check this out. It’s so well written. I’m glad I gave it a chance. It’s worth every minute. Stringer and Eli are hilarious .

2. Stopped Early But Came Back - When I originally listened to this podcast I shut it off early because the main character annoyed me with his tangents and th wall breaks. It kinda annoyed me the whole time but the show as a whole was very entertaining. Eli was my favorite character wish he was our main protagonist.

3. Funny and suspenseful drama - I listen to podcasts all the time, but this is only my second or third review. I love the narrator’s sarcasm and quick wit (well, he gets to write what he says, so I don’t know how quick it really is, but I still love it)! This is a very immersive experience that has gotten me through my workday at home in front of my screens. Thanks!

5. Hilarious & Addicting - Best podcast I have heard so far. Made me laugh out loud several times- which was very alarming to people watching me walk around alone. I could not stop listening to this one.The characters are interesting & very real, voice acting is incredible. And I absolutely love the setting. Cannot wait for the next season!

6. Riveting start to finish - I knocked season one out in two days. Very entertaining and breath of fresh air from non-fiction podcasts. My only critique, the credits at the end of each episode take minutes and when I’m hands free I can’t skip. Small thing but when binging it would be nice to not have that.

7. Great listen! - Super fun and well written podcast with great production quality! Perfect for a binge or to listen to in segments, with just the right balance of humor and suspense. The fast paced action keeps the story line moving and there’s never a dull moment. All of the actors were perfectly cast! Would definitely recommend!

8. Great writers - I think the people who give it bad reviews is just not their taste. That’s okay, nothing wrong with that. Just don’t listen to something you don’t like just like with movies and TV shows. Anyways, the actor is great for this written piece. They were going with like Thais cheesy old school private eye type narrative and cheesy metaphors which they totally nailed. Love the whole sonos audio thing because I’m ALWAYS jumping out of my seat at work. QCODE does a great job with their stories. I sent these fiction stories to family and friends and they ALL loved them. BTW I’m female and approve this for adults and everyone I sent it to is in their mid ’s-’s and they loved it too (this is a reply to someone saying this was for junior high schoolers)

1. excuse me… ??? - overall nice podcast. although, i wouldn’t quite give it a five star. the description down below says that it’s clean, but I’ve heard at least three curse words in all from Zoom Zoom and in Mall Brats. plus, they make you pay a minimum price on subscription, but that is in my opinion very unnecessary. I’m giving it four stars because it has a very nice concept to it, and the sound effects have definitely improved over the years. i Never thought I would be a romcom person, yet here I am today, listening to this. -Em:)

2. Repeating older episodes - I love your podcasts and always look forward to a new one. So I am always so disappointed when I start to listen to what you have labeled as a new one with a different title (even with a new higher episode ) to be a repeat of an older episode. Please label your repeats as such so we loyal listeners don’t think we are getting a brand new one. Other podcasts do it with a simple “re-release” or “encore” in the title.

1. A Joy to listen to. - I absolutely LOVE this podcast. I somehow found it late in and just finished it. The humor is on point, the music is great, the characters are so well devoped and the actors do an amazing job. I'm so sad it's finished, but can't wait to tell my friends and listen to it again. Thanks you guys.

2. Wooden Overcoats - This was one of the BEST podcasts I’ve ever listened to!!!!! And I’ve listened to a few, believe me…. I wanted it to last forever!!!!!! Each and every character was absolutely wonderful!!! So incredibly “laugh out loud” hilarious and moving, all at the same time!!! Oh and….“Enjoy yourself”!!
I sure did!!!!!

3. I used to love this show. Now I’m just sad - I had been looking forward to this show coming back for the longest time, I had loved the earlier seasons but, while there were some good episodes, the one with the flashback to the Funn’s childhood was just hateful. To act as though it’s funny for two children to be that mistreated by badly behaving adults who blamed the children for the adults own issues was really not okay. What makes it worse is that it isn’t hard to view either of those characters as being on the autism spectrum and, as someone who is and was mistreated by adults for being ‘different’, well, I sure didn’t find it funny to say the least. If that episode didn’t exist I still haven’t loved every one of the new episodes but there were some very very good ones. But, as that episode does exist and they’ve made it clear what I might end up hearing again, I won’t be listening to any more. And frankly, I’m just sad about it. I really loved this show.

4. Amazingly funny - Truly one of the best stories you could listen to. It may be one of the funniest and yet most touching stories you could listen to. This may be my favorite audio play ever. And the acting is kind of amazing. And by kind of, I mean truly amazing. Please listen to this show it’s beautiful.

5. It kept me hooked from the beginning - Wooden Overcoats might be audio-only, but I could “see” every moment. The voices are so artfully done, they beg the brain to conjure up images of these characters. And the sound design is masterful. It brings you in to the moment, as if you’re watching things unfold in front of you, from the point of view of a funeral house mouse! Congratulations to the writers, the production team, and all of the voice actors for creating such an amazing show. It’s been an inspiring experience to realize radio programs are alive. Thank you.

6. Simply the best! - I started listening a few years ago and then got into other podcasts after finishing the first seasons. But I recently found Wooden Overcoats on my saved podcasts and decided to start from the beginning again. I was instantly transported back to that quirky little village and invested in the odd characters. Through the beautifully written hilariously dry British humor, the scripts come alive. When I got to the end, I was really sad, but it’s nice to know I listen again.

7. Funn Funerals Forever - Why aren't you listening to Piffling FM radiooo? I haven’t enjoyed a fictional world like this in a long time. Each episode has made my year so much brighter, connected me with friends, and inspired me to create in a playful way (this incredibly written and produced show was made independently on excellent writing, crowdfunding, and magic—a huge feat and accomplishment. As an audio drama, it evades rigid storytelling conventions while remaining hilarious, delightfully morbid, and heartfelt throughout). Definitely give it a listen if you like hanging out in mortuaries and/or shenanigans with lovably eccentric characters. Enjoy yourselves!

8. a show (still) worth every minute of your time - A few weeks ago, a relative suggested listening to Wooden Overcoats, and I’m so glad I did. I’m only sorry I didn’t know about it sooner. Everything about it is absolutely brilliant, and it’s been a welcome escape from our current reality. I will continue to recommend it to everyone I know (and even to people I don’t; it’s that good). To everyone who works on the show: thank you for creating such a gem! Had to come back and edit my review from a couple of years ago just to once again say thank you, thank you, thank you for this podcast. I’ve listened to the entire series multiple times already, and both laughed and cried my way through the finale. What a beautiful end to the story of Piffling. Other people are all there is.

9. Thank you all so much! - This is, no doubt, my all time favorite podcast! The writing is AMAZING, and the cast is just perfect, never missing a beat! From rolling on the floor laughing to wiping tears from my eyes, this has been an amazing ride. How you go to all those places in a podcast about funeral directors just has to be experienced, can’t be explained. I only have one question… did they REALLY sit on the Simon Templar ‘saint’ joke for years?!? Talk about a delayed payoff, but worth every second. Try it, really! Maybe we can, in the words of Al Pacino, ‘pull them back in!’ Farewell, Funns, and thank you so much for everything!

10. Best fiction podcast ever - Really, it is. Also my favorite podcast of all time. It is so funny and so heartfelt, and if you’ve never listened before I highly recommend going back to the beginning and treating yourself to these four hilarious seasons (plus some bonus content!). If you have listened before, listen again! I know I will, probably many times.

11. Great Funn - Excuse the terrible pun, but do not let that deter you from an amazing podcast! I came late in to the game but have thoroughly enjoyed the plot and character development. Generally very lighthearted stuff in a not so lighthearted world. I would second the review that said this was in the vein of Faulty Towers. Great job to the cast, writers, musicians, producers etc etc who have created a masterpiece.

12. “The Office” of podcasts - Wooden Overcoats is The Office of podcasts. I hope that I’ll ever be able to find another that comes close to the humor and quality. I love a smart, well written comedy, which is difficult to find. This podcast has also been a wonderful way to connect with my daughter whose preparing to finish high school and move out for college. We discovered it together and it’s been a great way to connect. It’s one of the few things she’s excited to talk to me about.

1. Intriguing Plot Ruined with Annoying Banter - The plot sounded so good, I got hooked but the banter of the main characters was so obnoxious. I actually finished the whole first season and it truly wasn’t worth it because of how annoying the characters were. Once they took a detour mid-season to focus more on the characters, I barely made it but just wanted to know what happened.

2. Fun! But ouch to my ears.. - Half way through season and liking it! It’s definitely more of a comedy than an enthralling mystery, but a fun listen. However, the volume of this podcast ranges from to (out of ) and I’m constantly having to turn it up and down. It’s made it SO hard to listen in the car while traveling. Other than that, enjoying it.
2022-07-11
3. Enough with the banter - New listener, three episodes in. The banter between the two hosts is almost unbearable. I’ve skipped ahead so many times because it’s so pointless. Their arguing in the first episode was horrible writing and nails on a chalkboard. Who wants to listen to a murder podcast when it’s just two women having a stupid argument? I hope it gets better.
2022-06-07
4. Great podcast even if you don’t often do fiction pods - I am NOT a frequent listener of fictional podcasts, though not for lack of trying! Every once in a while one catches my interest, but usually I struggle to get through even one or two episodes. Weird, because I love audiobooks and actual plays. Arden is an exception. While some aspects are a little silly for my taste, most of it is pitch perfect. It has the kind of referential world building that makes you feel smart, and adds up to feel like a substantive engagement with genre and form rather than a pastiche. The fictional ads are always a chuckle, I always smile at the Karina Longworth reference, and there’s an extended Kenneth Lonergan allusion midway through the second season that lands super well. Also, the cast is strong and the two co-leads have amazing chemistry. The only part I don’t understand is how it retells Romeo and Juliet, but not being much of a Shakespeare head hasn’t impacted my enjoyment. If anything, knowing that kept me from trying it for ages—if I had realized that it was a fictional true crime investigation about celebrity worship in the aughts I would have picked this podcast up much sooner. The first season is great! I am excited to hear the rest!

5. Ummm . actually - I liked both seasons, but I felt like season two had some nonsensical/unnecessary things that slowed it down. I also felt like transitioning from one episode to another, there were some elements that contradicted themselves. And, four-story continuity that kind of personally bugs me but it’s not a big deal over all. But I really like all the effort the actors put into their characters and the complexity of both seasons. (All my personal opinion of course)
2022-04-14
6. Eh - I wanted to like it but it’s hard to get around how horrible these characters would be if they really covered a murder case like this…. In real life they would be deeply insensitive and unethical as investigators with how they absolutely make light of people’s alleged murders. Also not a fan of humanizing billionaires like they can exist without exploitation of the working class, which they absolutely can’t. Andy should be paying the crew more but instead he funds cutesy things like moon mines as if that’s not a feature of a dystopian society that that level of luxury exists alongside homelessness. Not to mention the glossing over of the death of a homeless teen and mutilating his body like he didn’t matter to anyone because he was homeless. They just said “oh I’m such a bad person maybe” and moved on completely. All this and Andy being presented as a lovable character and all the cop loving weirdness made the whole show very unrelatable. I know it’s supposed to be a comedy but god it’s so neoliberal that it’s just grating in the end.

7. A Lot To Like - It took me several tries to get into S of Arden. I had to find just the right mood, kept trying, and finally did. Had a blast. So I’m revising this review. I still had trouble distinguishing two of the actors who have very similar sounding voices and mannerisms ... they both also pull similar fake voices for emphasis, and their characters fulfill very similar functions within the plot, so it’s really hard to follow which of the two is speaking. That’s a significant issue. Plus, all the bickering is really tedious and abrasive to me. The side plots … I just get confused. But the use of music was a lot of fun. Most of the acting was outstanding. And if you’re in the right listening mood to focus, the writing does some fun stuff with suspension of disbelief and reliability and shifting of POV characters that’s worthy of proper literary review and discussion. Sound wise, there are some issues with inconsistent volume and painful sudden spikes in sound to be weary of.

8. Season is great! - This show just keeps getting better! Season really drew me in with compelling characters and clever adaptations of Shakespeare. A clever critique of the true crime with writing that makes me laugh out loud. This show is truly unlike anything else I’ve listened to and I was sad when finally reached the end, it felt like I was saying goodbye to friends. Give it a listen!

9. Highly Recommend - I LOVE this show. It combines true crime, comedy, and Shakespeare. And awesome queer representation!!! Seriously, what else are you looking for?
It is at times so funny—— and other times so heart wrenching. It is cleverly written, and well executed. It was my first dive into audio fiction, and although I’ve since listened to a lot of other shows, this is the only one I listen to over and over. I love Bea and Brenda. Rosalind is an icon. And Lorena Christopher is just too personally relatable, but I’m ok with the call out. This is a great show!!!!!

10. My favorite podcast - I think I've listened to S a dozen times, easily. I haven't finished S yet but that's on me, not a reflection of S. This is the podcast I recommend when people start talking about podcasts. It's witty, well-written, easy to get into, and features possibly my favorite cast in all of podcasting. You can't go wrong with Michelle Agresti, ever, really. Emily VanDerWerff, Sara Ghaleb, and Chris Dole are creating something phenomenal here.
2021-01-26
11. Thank you, Arden! - Can we just talk about how much I love the stars of Arden? Brenda and Bea make me so happy. Brenda, I love her. Her comedic timing is impeccable and she gets those moment right. You know the moments I’m talking about? The ones where your heart has plummeted deep into your stomach and you're showing everything. Completely vulnerable. Gaaaaah! She’s so good. Bea, little lunatic wound so tightly that only Brenda has the patience to slowly but surely unwind her. It’s just so good. Anyway, thank you for season and for bringing Brenda and Bea into my life.
2021-01-25
12. Very creative show with depth of characters - Absolutely love Arden! I binged the first season in three days. There’s so many layers to the show. The cast of characters is rich and well voiced. And the reimagining of Shakespearean plays is a delight. I’m decently versed in Shakespeare and yet could not figure out the plot until the final episodes. A true mystery whodunnit that’ll keep you guessing until the end, all the while you enjoy not only the characters but their growth over time as well.

1. We need King Falls AM back!!! - I know I’m not the only one whose life this podcast has touched and effected in so many ways. My life’s motto has become “bad times are tough but not tougher than me” and I got the radio tower tattooed on my arm to always remind me of that. So many of us were and are still so invested in this podcast and the characters and even the people who created it! I really can only hope that their creative and personal differences can be put aside for us, the Kfam. We have stayed loyal, and I think we deserve some closure. I wish the best to the creators, and I hope they know how important this silly little radio show is to so, so many people.

2. Truly amazing, but what now..? - I couldn’t rate this any lower than stars. One of my favorite podcasts to this day, and one of my top recommendations to anyone that asks me for something new. But its been almost years now, and I would like to believe more will be coming out one day. I won’t hold my hopes too high but it’d be nice to at least get a final resolution to the story.
I wish all of the cast and crew the best and hope they all have been well.

3. Please come back - The title says it all. I miss the characters and story. We are in dark times and a bit of this podcast would be a breath of fresh air. I’m sure all of the talented writers and actors have found more lucrative gigs, but we who listen in the dark on the long way home miss the Falls.

4. Welcome to King Falls - Love King Falls AM and all its colorful characters, but there’s no doubt in my mind that they borrow a lot from Welcome to Night Vale. Like, a lot. That being said, King Falls AM is a super fun, funny show with plenty to love. I’m addicted and sad that it is no more. The absolute worst part of the show is the fan base. From what I’ve seen online, they’re absolutely insufferable and love to complain, and quite honestly they probably drove the writers to quit and I don’t blame them.

5. I Have A Lot Of Opinions - The Good: The friendship (wonderful platonic affection) and banter between the two main characters, some of the friendship/found family moments outside of this relationship, half the townsfolk being endearing, solid voice acting and production, some drama that kept me invested, some fun supernatural shenanigans. Problematic elements (mentioned below) improve over time. My favorite characters are Sammy, Lily, and Herschel.
The Bad: The show ends on a huge cliffhanger after episodes, with several unresolved plot threads. The show's adherence to its framing device ruins some of the tension. The other half of the townsfolk are annoying. Miscommunication(as well as bickering) runs rampant, and nowhere is this more apparent than in main character Ben, who is likeable % of the time and insufferable the rest. The show's problematic elements - an offensive portrayal of Native American culture (skinwalkers), Incredibly Super Hot Love Interest Emily being unable to exist without someone commenting on her physical appearance, a sexist character who isn't called out soon enough and other male entitlement, and a character who exists for racist Shock Value humor - cast a shadow over the show's good intentions.

6. Amazingly Entertaining!!! - The King Falls actors put in the work, there characters are amazingly believable and well thought out. The King Falls writers did an amazing job of mapping out an incredible story. This is cinema level story telling in a podcast. That is very impressive. I recommend diving in to this story and having a listen! Great job King Falls team!!! Please give us more story! Stay Rad!!!

7. This had been one of my favorites, I will miss it - I don’t know what’s going on, I will not get into it, but this team did a great job with this show, I loved everything about it I want it to have a bigger presence. I hope the story can end in some way like a book or graphic novel if not live show.
Good job and thank you.
2021-11-25
8. No ending after a huge cliffhanger - Absolutely hilarious, I legit found my self laughing every episode and actually getting into the story but the shows been canceled and they leave you with a huge cliffhanger that you’ll never know what happens after the last episode and because of that I’ll give it one star. If it wasn’t for that then it would be a five star podcast without question
2021-10-14
9. I can’t love this enough - I love fictional podcasts, I love being auditorially (not a real word) entertained. KFAM ….great everything. Great story. Best entertainment in a long time. I just finished and am heartbroken that this is the end. I could follow this town and it’s crazy characters FOREVER! Come back! Please!
2021-08-28
10. star - An absolutely great podcast. I love the characters and the compelling storyline. Keep up the great work, I’ll be listening Loved this podcast. That said it ended for good without any wrap up to the story.. if you like watching a really good movie, but never get to see the end this is for you. If you need an ending this isn’t for you!!
2021-07-30
11. Sad to see you go KFAM - With the news that the story will be left unfinished, I thought I should leave a review. The production from top to bottom is incredible. The story is thrilling and engaging! I really loved visiting this town every two weeks! I hope everyone involved goes on to better things and I wish you all the best. Your podcast will always be on my highly recommended list regardless of the lack of ending. I hope you all are proud of what you created. I’ll miss you

12. Good show but no ending ruins the ride. - I genuinely enjoyed the series but with the announcement that they will no longer continue production I can’t in good conscience suggest to a new listener that they start this doomed ride to nowhere. Sad to see the kfam go the way of the dodo and the black tapes.

1. Love/Hate… - I love/hate how stupid this show is Seriously, I ask myself at least twice during each episode how and why I’m listening to something so utterly ridiculous and stupid, but you just can’t get away from this show! You’ll hate how hilarious you find it and will judge yourself at times for enjoying it. It’s absolutely brilliant! Please come out with more episodes
2023-03-21
2. Witty, smart, creepy - Death by Dying is a truly unique show that’s delightful, and also spooky, it's clever, and also a bit icky (some body horror, but imo not in grotesque excess). For a show with an intentionally breezy attitude towards its many gruesome murders, it's surprisingly heartfelt, and moving at times. The dialogue is quick and smart, a witty combo of dark topics and random silliness - / recommend. A really enjoyable listen, and then there's that one episode that unexpectedly made me cry like a baby (in a good way)! If you like dark humor, this is perfectly up your alley, but beware there may be some man-eating cats in the aforementioned alley.

3. Astounding. - This show is fun, clever, well written, well performed, and SO well edited. It takes you into a world that is so fun and heartbreaking. You laugh, you cry, and you fall in love over and over again with these amazing characters. Easily one of the best narrative fiction podcasts to ever exist.
2022-10-05
4. The Tremendous Death By Dying - One of thousands of “perfect example” showcasing why Audio is better than Video - but NONE better. I never believed there’d actually be a Series II follow-up, but my God here it is: all I can add is, poor Gary ... I hate that you had to go, but Man O Man I sure did love seeing you show up.
2021-02-25
5. a podcast you wouldn’t want to miss out on! - there’s something about his show that’s comforting to the umpteenth degree. the obituary writer is a fantastic narrator and the subject matter, though heavy, is handled excellently. it’s a charmingly bizarre twist on something that many of us fear! i’ve listened to death by dying more times than i can count — it’ll make you laugh, it’ll surprise you, and it’ll hold a special place in your heart.
2021-02-03
6. Amazing show - Even though it was pretty short, I loved every second I listened to this. I laughed out loud on so many occasions but then it would flip around and be emotional and sweet, I cried at the last episode of season one, it was heartbreaking and so well written. Such an interesting premise with excellent execution! Fans of Welcome to Night Vale will love this show
2021-01-26
7. The only problem is that more isn’t out yet. - This is my favorite podcast. Not just comedy, favorite podcast period. I love it. I’ve listened to it more than twice. I’d do unspeakable things to get season here faster. Thank you creators for making this brilliant, beautiful, bastard of a masterpiece!
2021-01-07
8. Literally the best - This story is both funny and heartfelt and weird. All the charters are great and the world is somewhere I wish I was. PLUS it’s embarrassing to admit but I messaged “OW” from the website once while I was going through a tough time. I used the message to process some stuff under the guise of asking a question and forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when I got a message back about a month later. It was literally the sweetest thing and I did cry. Either way I love this podcast and I love the people that run it
2020-12-22
9. Darkly quirky...or quirkily dark? - The wit and dry presentation of the outlandish is fantastic. This has quickly become a favorite. The stories are presented as dark but with an odd twist and unexpected jokes. I wasn't sure it would be a podcast I would like from just reading the description, but I'm glad I listened.
2020-08-25
10. % Irish and % Enjoying - If I was nothing but Irish, I would have titled this, “I’m Mick Lovin’ It!” Upon further review, I could have played off the name ‘Mickey’, but I believe that would have necessitated both a steamboat and the ability to whistle. episodes in and I think this is a great podcast/story; well-written, voice acted, and produced.
2020-07-26
11. Took totally by surprise! - I wasn’t sure what to expect from this podcast. The premise, though, was so interesting and unique I had to give it a shot. The humour is hilarious. Dry wit delivered totally straight. The OW as a character is mysterious but still very enigmatic and you start getting a feel for what kind of person he is which is some plus character writing. The other characters are all delights and bring life (hah) to the show. The acting is brilliant, the jokes are genuinely funny (in the vein of a Terry Pratchett footnote), the over arching story is compelling and the SOUNDSCAPING. The sound design here is brilliant giving each scene some unique flavour. The editing brilliant (one of my favourite examples being in episode with the nd cannon ball and narration). I’d suggest this to anyone who’s a fan of Wooden Overcoats, Night Vale, and/or The Amelia Project. I genuinely can’t wait for more of this show!!
2020-07-26
12. Really good - The dark humor woven throughout this podcast keeps you hooked even to the background characters gives life to each minute of the “obituaries” even though he is a writer he becomes a detective almost like a side hobby. A few chuckles here and there and wondering wow that’s ironic but clever. Can’t wait for season !
