1. It’s a beautiful story of Love in every sense of the word - This book comes at a time when I needed it. At times intense so take breaks, but full of truth about love as it relates to relationships with family , friends and ourselves . Bell talks about how we hinder , desire, sabotage and long in love. Bell supports some of her theories with references from other authors . Great read !

2. Heart warming and heart needed - For years this book has been on my “to read list” and finally I did. I’m so glad that I did. So much good stuff. I charge you to not only read this, but allow each page and word to read you as well. At least that is what this book did for me. It read me and comforted me. Pray and always ask the Lord for more understanding with each word you digest. Be well. Read well. Blessings Always

1. Better relationship advice from a Mad Men - For a modern relationship this book is misogynistic garbage. There are a FEW decent tidbits in here, specifically the intro and some portions on listening and communication. Queue eyes roll at the comparison that “men are like rubber bands” & “women are like waves” If you’re a reader with modern views on gender and the balance of a relationship find another book. If you like the idea that men can essentially do whatever they want with no repercussions and women are soft, emotional beings meant to just deal with a mans ego at the expense of her own mental health, then this read is for you.

2. Still Worth It After Two Decades - I read most of this book when it first came out in , and as of early , a lot of its wisdom is still valid. For the last years, I have enjoyed many conversations with men and women about this book. I read several of the reviews in iBooks, and I really had a few good laughs at the reviewers who gave the book one or two stars and parroted cliches like "stereotypes" or "not factual" or "not scientific," etc. Maybe some people will agree with these negative shibboleths, but this book is helpful and offers some good suggestions for couples (married or dating) to get along better. It's not a panacea, but worth the read. I'm not going to give a thorough review, I just recommend you buy the book at this affordable price. Start reading it, and see what YOU think. Too many folks today have to have an "expert" to give them permission to read something. Use your own common sense, and sort out the ideas that have staying power. Any book can be criticized, but none is perfect, save One. If you dismiss this book, you'll miss an opportunity to learn a few things about opposite sex relationships. Finally, I'm not politically correct saying this, but you may have a few ideas who some of the negative critics are. Some people just don't like same sex couples to get along and even be happy. I don't agree with everything the book says, but that is rather trite. Enjoy.

3. Fiction - From Mr. Gray’s doctorate to the final paragraph, this book is fiction. I had to read this for a Sociology course on “Marriage & the Family” to fulfill a requirement and, as an older student, I felt awful for the younger people, especially females in the class. I felt it insulted them, consistently. If a woman were what John Gray says she is, there would be no women doctors, nurses, lawyers, effective administrators, teachers etc. This book is misogyny masquerading as medicine.

4. Stereotypes - I liked this book for the first or three pages and then realized that it really was just a bunch of stereotypes about men and women. I had to read the book for a class ( couldn’t tell you which one) and it was just very hard to keep reading. I remember throwing it against a wall a few times and I believe after I finished with it I burned it. Can’t say it’s a good read.

5. Fantastic! A definite keeper! - This book is amazing. The depth of emotional analysis for men and women is really fascinating, and entirely correct. It is truly a gem and I only wish I had read this in my young twenties. However, now being thirty, and five years out from a divorce, I feel like I can truly appreciate what went wrong in that relationship. This book explained my entire relationship problems to a tee. On a positive note, this book has provided me a user's guide to navigate my own emotions, reactions and life while in a relationship. I have already started using the love letter suggestion, even though at first I was resistant to the idea. I was amazed at the immediate relief and healing I felt at a nagging issue that happened recently while dating. I would like to continue using a journal to express myself when past emotions arise out of nowhere, especially when I just can't seem to understand when I'm sad at a time when I should be happy. It has given me hope that maybe a relationship is a possibility with me in the future. As a woman, I felt John Gray's analysis was right on. If I am ever to get beyond the dating phase into a loving relationship, I would like to share this with my future partner. I definitely plan on rereading the book and using it as a reference when I encounter problems with the opposite sex. I am hoping that I can really understand where my partner is coming from, but just as importantly have him understand me too.

6. The interpretation we all need - My career is interpreting. Everyday, I help people with a need to communicate by bridging a linguistic gap. For year I have been searching for an interpreter, I didn't know I needed, to bridge this linguistic gap I didn't realize existed. Thank you for the Rosetta stone I needed.

7. Stereotypes abound, offers no real solutions - I am a man in a troubled long-term relationship. My female partner is reluctant to talk about her feelings, is upset when I don't offer tangible solutions to her problems, never says i love you and squirms at my attempts to be romantic and carve out time to do coupley things. According to this book, this is utterly impossible that we even exist. The roles should be reversed on every issue i stated above apparently. Alas, I find myself in a complex relationship and know many other couples who are in them too. This book assumes that men hate talking about their feelings, that women are naturally subservient to men and will back down on an issue to placate their man, and that women often feel unappreciated for things they do while men really do not. For some, this generic view of male/female relationships may be of some value. For us, two people with complex personalities, backgrounds, egos and feelings, this 'one-size-fits-all' of a book was a waste of time.

8. Improve your understanding of the opposite sex - John Gray provides essential advice for any relationship in this book. His book provides great insight and understanding of the opposite sex. His metaphors and examples are simple enough for anyone to remember and apply to their life. I recommend Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus to anyone interested in a more fulfilling relationship with the opposite sex.

9. The definitive book on understanding relationships - This book isn't a prescription for how to fix a relationship - but it does provide valuable insight into how men and women look at relationship dynamics. And with that insight - you can better navigate the waters of the relationship ocean. Although she (he) never gave you an operator's manual this comes as close to as what you'll ever need.

1. Good read - It provides perspective. Even though I might not have these views it shows me how to work with them. To say this book doesn’t align with a mans actions would be a lie. When lined up with past relationships as a guidebook it would have saved me some time and I could’ve gained some as well. Hopefully it helps now though. That’s when it counts. lol

2. Not Terrible Advice - I would say all in all this has been enlightening book. Some parts come off as a little chauvinistic. While he does acknowledge the work load of today’s women, the extreme expectations society places on mothers far outweighs the understanding any man will ever have on women. The fact that women now hold the title of mother AND career woman is something only very few men would even come close to understanding, because they don’t have the physical capabilities to understand things like the pain of child birth and how that changes a women’s body. The whole “men don’t like it when women let themselves go” (interpreted quote) and giving women a ten-pound weight-gain range before men disapprove is just not considering the fact that women bare children and this changes their bodies, often more than the suggested ten-pound leeway “given” by men. I also don’t personally believe that men have any excuses or should be placing suggestions on women on how they can keep their men from straying, let alone justifying why they stray with nominal, meaningless explanations. Ones like if they don’t get sex from their women, they will get it elsewhere. While this may be true, this should not be accepted as a guideline for any couple, male or female. I have already suggested this book to other women, but not for advice on how to act around men so much as to understand that most men just play with women’s hearts to get sex. And the more knowledge a women has to her advantage, hopefully the less female hearts will be broken by these types of men. Any women who have been played by a man knows that, and every dark secret a man keeps is best brought into the light, so I appreciate this book for that simple fact.

3. WOW! - All I can really say is that regardless if you're in a relationship or not, this book is great. I got the sample and was automatically hooked within the next two pages. That I had to have an actual copy in my hand. Finished the book within one day. There were a few pages/paragraphs in the book that Steve Harvey gave me cheerful tears in laughter. He reassured me that there are decent men out in this cruel world who will go out of their way to protect, provide, & profess their affection to you. Let's not give up ladies! We've got games too not only men do.

1. Gives You The OK To Stay Lost/Horny - This book encourages you to stay horny and build a cheap personality that’s centered in between your legs, lose your self respect as a humanbeing who’s blessed with a mind that thinks and differentiates right from wrong. This book encourages you to get rid of your manners, lose your inner tranquility and mess up a lot in your sexual life in order to find your life purpose. Watch porn, act like lost spirit and go sleep with dozens of stranger women/men in order to find love. I personally was expecting content that lives up to the title but found someone who’s still so self distracted, lived a life full of a denial of his roots, hangry for sex that he indirectly lets you know he’s still wanted by how many women he slept with after his wife divorced him, catching him watching porn. Someone so lonely inward that he took a degree in psychology to have always someone who needs his company/his help, talks about his clients in a cheek way under the name of sharing stories to help others. If you read between the lines you can see easily how this guy sells you what you want to hear, beautifying how to live a low life. It’s my first book to trick me by its title and shocked me with how much dirt in it. His pitch is the word (IT IS OK) to do whatever your lower self desires as long as the other part wants too. What’s more sad though is the way people turned to become recently that they need to see others doing what they’re doing or would like to do. If you need real help, please search for Pena Chördön’s books and audios, you’ll never regret. You don’t have to turn into Buddhism in order to find yourself, find purpose in life or find peace with being alone. I’m a practicing Muslim girl and love Pema Chördön, still return to her books when I need another perspective of life! Please, invest your money with books by real author who respects your humanity. I couldn’t ignore sharing these words after finishing reading this book, that voice we all have kept nagging me to say something. Thanks for taking time to read my words!

2. BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ - Whether you are single or in a relationship, this is a must read. I could not stop reading because I was having so many realizations and questioning everything I ever knew. I gained knowledge, insight, and strength in knowing that being single on purpose was the best thing I could do for myself. This book is about so much more than being single, it’s about self love and discovering who you are more than anything. this book has changed my life.

3. Reaffirming my own journey - I appreciated the way John shared client’s stories as well as his own personal journey. So much truth and vulnerability. “Single, on Purpose” had affirmed the journey that I have been on, particularly for the past years after my second divorce. It’s amazing, how when you do the work, and “date yourself”, how your life becomes what it is meant to be.
This was a quick enjoyable read, one which I’m sure I’ll reference back to in the future. And thanks for the song suggestions for my own self tape. I’m forever changing mine. And I will explore your list to expand mine.
This is a must read for those seeking peace, and to help live their own truth.

1. Book/Podcast INSPIRATIONAL!!!! - I am a single yr old who has gleaned SO MUCH info on life and relationships (of all kinds) from Matthew Hussey. He is truthful and honest and empowers women to be precise in communication skills and self confidence. ANY woman would benefit in life with knowledge shared by Matthew. He is humble and humorous, serious and candid. He is wise beyond his years and inspires people to live life to the fullest. His relationship advice is (as the English say)... "SPOT ON!"
I suggest you get the book, subscribe to his podcast (amazing) and follow him on YouTube. He will make you more aware of your choices in life AND relationships. Thnx Matthew for all your hard work and dedication to making a difference! I truly believe you have for so many people!

2. It's ok, nothing special. A lot of common sense - This book had good reviews on Amazon so I purchased it on here but to be honest it's just ok so far. A lot of the advice is common sense. Like- act confident and men will be attracted or men will respect you if you respect and value yourself. That's stating the obvious. I disagree with some of the advice. I think making conversation with people in general and being sociable and getting yourself "out there" is very true (again common sense) but I disagree with asking a man for his number bc men naturally are chasers and have that competitive nature and a woman who chases them is sometimes a huge turnoff because the challenge is over before it even started. It says men are nervous to approach women because of what their friends think, but let's be honest it's the same for women and men WILL find a way to ask for a number or approach you most of the time. I only agree that being sociable and confident and give the lead for the guy to ask for a number, but for a woman to ask for it is absurd and would turn most men off because it's in secularist and makes the woman look "desperate" like many books out there say. Experience has taught me letting the man be the man as the pursuer is key.

3. Becoming a woman of value! - The beauty of this book is not so much in the advice Matthew Hussey provides about how to "Get the Guy" but the brilliant advice he gives you about "valuing yourself". He really emphasizes a woman's need to be satisfied with herself before bringing anyone else along for the ride. Thank you Matthew for encouraging women to place themselves first as you said “believe in your own value and every good thing in life will follow”. Every woman should read this book young and old.

4. Great book! - I first came across Matthew Hussey on NBC's Ready for Love. His advice to the women on the show really resonated with me, so when I found out he had a book, I purchased it immediately. I'm glad I did- this book is great! It's well organized and Hussey often reiterates points to help the reader learn. His writing style feels like he is having a conversation, and video extras are included for those who learn by watching. The best thing about this book is that the advice really makes sense. There are no archaic rules or weird strategies, just honest information about what men look for in women. The tips given here empower women to take control and find the man of their dreams. After finishing this, I felt powerful and ready to meet my perfect man!

1. Think Like a Man... - An interesting book about men's perspectives on relationship issues done with humor and reverence, It is more about beginning relationships where children or blended families will be of concern and not so focused on divorcees with grown children. I love, love, LOVE all references to Steve's wife, Marjorie!

2. Great Read! - I was looking through reviews about this book and some people dislike it. They've said they feel disgusted, offended, it's one sided, you name it, I'm sure they said it. But I love his book to be honest! He shines a light on men and what we women can do to get what we want from them and if they can't commit to their women then it's time for us to move on, and find that love we deserve elsewhere. This book is empowering to women. He doesn't say men are perfect just that they have some work to do, and to make them better us women can help men become better for us. Also, he gives advice and tips on how to act around men on a date or when things aren't necessarily going right in a relationship. I think he makes really valid points and this book is a great read ! I absolutely recommend!

3. Great read. Very enlightening. - Wow. All the negative star reviewers stating that this book is degrading is crazy feminist that don't need men anyway. It was actually quite the opposite. This book encouraged women to maintain standards and self respect. He never said ALL MEN CHEAT. And sure, not all men are the same. This read was a great summary of their general characteristics. I have dated quite a bit. I am currently married and have been with my husband for years. I have read other blogs and articles on psychology website about how men are hard wired. Through that and my personal experience, this book was spot on! I read the whole thing in a few hours tonight. Even if you disagree with some points, it's definitely thought provoking.

4. Loved It (A relationship works both ways) - I feel like a lot of women who reads this book will take it the wrong way. Most are probably feminist. (I agree with feminist % of the time) They might be offended on how Steve Harvey tells the women to basically surrender to the man. They also have to realize he says unless the man surrenders to you AND this is his way of doing it. If the shoe was on the other foot & this book was about women, our excuse would be --- since a man loves us he has to put up with the BS we come with. (mood swings, attitudes, emotional, nagging, wanting, how we sometimes express ourselves, how we just want men to know whats wrong and be treated like a queen [because Steve Harvey strongly expresses how men want to be treated like kings] and ect. -- then it would be okay? All relationships needs compromise. Dont love the person on how you think you should love them. Love them the way that they want to be loved. He used a great example on how AFTER his wife became his wife (which means he did his job as a man) she gave up something just for him, not because he asked, but because she wanted to. He's just saying things like that means a lot to men. Me, I love it. Some of this stuff of course I was like "Hxll NO" lol. After him explaining his reasons I had to be open-minded enough to understand where he was coming from because we women have our flaws too that we expect men to compromise with. A relationship works both ways

5. The missing link... - Thank you Steve, Marjorie and God for writing this book. Simple to the point writing with confirmations from almost any other scenario. After years of trying to understand the difference in the sexes...this was the missing link!
I am comfortable now, finally and have direction for myself and family;)

6. Really good points made and straight to the point - This book is a great read. It took me a minute to read it because I wasn’t in the right ‘head space’ to take it all in. I saw the movie and loved it and I love the book as well. It reminded me that I’m not crazy or picky or that my standards are too high. I am worth it and deserve a good man who sees and respects my value. This book is especially great for anyone who has experienced a really bad break up and is just getting back into the dating scene.
2014-03-22
7. Validating and thoughtful - This book has helped me feel validated in some of the decisions I made inky recent relationship. I wanted a ring and he was coming with every excuse not to give it to me. So I decided to move on, of course I was said. This book helped me realize that wasn't the person I wanted anyway, so I really shouldn't have been said. It gives me a better perspective on me and helps me realize what I want and don't want. Also if a man doesn't respond the way I need him to I need to move on and never look back. Thanks Steve!

8. Act like a lady, Think like a man! - This is a must read book for all women of all ages when considering getting into the dating scene! Wish I would have had this knowledge long time ago as it would have saved me lots of heart ache. I cant wait to read Straight Talk, No Chaser. I'm planning on sharing this with my daughters and granddaughters so that they may have better experiences than I have had! Many thanks to Steve Harvey for opening my eyes.
2013-07-03
9. Informative - Very informative for older women looking for a husband & family. Not so much for younger women like myself(), independent, and no children. I was expecting something a little more on the grasp of finding a good man & how to keep him basically. Not ready for marriage quite yet but when I am, I will definitely review the book again! Bedides that I really enjoyed it.

10. Thank You - This book was wonderful! I received many good answers to all the questions I had about Men. I'm and in college, I've experienced a few failed attempts with guys and this book really opened my eyes to the reason why. Now I have the information and attitude I need in order to have a successful love life.

11. Great!! - Great eye opening and common sense! Things that any women should think about when dating or even married! I wish I would have that daddy talk when I was .. Yes!! Knowing or having that knowledge will save you from terrible heart ache, headache and tears! ;). GOOD JOB STEVE!! GOD BLESS YOU!!
2013-03-09
12. Refreshing to know what a man REALLY thinks - Though I liked the book, the information and the delivery and, yes, I would recommend it; basically his recommendation is to be direct about your expectations and willing to walk if he isn't interested in trying to meet them. Easier said than done though.

13. The relationship GURU!! - Reading this book give me a lot of insight. It made me think and thoroughly evaluate my current situation. I truly believe Steve is right on target about it all! Just when I thought well what about.....? The answer was in the next sentence or the next paragraph. I am the classic one that's given percent for too many years( I'm ashamed to say) just waiting and waiting and still waiting and now we have a beautiful month old baby girl and I still don't have a ring. It's not that I didn't have standards, it just somewhere along the line I gave away my power and became very lax with those standards and requirements. This book has empowered me to go after the ring and not be afraid of failure for I realized that it has been my fear of failure that put in in the predicament I'm in today. Thank so much Steve for empowering me!...the book on my list is straight talk no chaser!!

14. Great Book, Hands DOWN!!! - I am a year old woman and this book a has definitely opened my eyes. After reading this I realized there are many things I was doing right but there were a few things I was doing wrong and some things I would have never thought would make or break a relationship. I loved it. It makes me analyze everything man says to me, it's makes me a little more interested in what he has to say opposed to telling him everything about me. But don't get me wrong, I'm not annoying with it but I want to know certain things about a man. For instance, the first thing I want to know now is what he does, if he's content and satisfied with the person he is and if he's where he's wants to be at that time because if he's not, he has absolutely no time for me. This is something I learned from the book. Ladies please read this book but not only that...apply it!!! Thank you Steve Harvey!!! You are such a great man, Ms. Marjorie is a lucky woman!!

15. Fine for a short read - This was an OK book. It definitely is repetitive and some of it makes you wonder "Why even be in a relationship with a man", but it helps clear some things up. Steve is honest and doesn't beat around the bush, so be prepared for some real talk. I am planning to try some of his techniques in my current relationship (which is struggling), but it is truly much more helpful for the single woman looking to revamp her dating style. The book was a quick read which was also a plus. I'd say give it a shot if you have $ and hours to lose!

1. Should be required reading! - This book is so insightful, I have learned more things about men in the days of reading this, than in my years of marriage ( to a wonderful man)! Not only is the content invaluable, it is so well written I didn’t want to put it down, but had to because life is always happening. I am definitely going to get Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. Thank you for writing this.

2. Wonderful - Different from its predecessor, but in a good way. This book has all the answers to all of your questions ladies and some good advice for the men too. I appreciate Steve's insight and found it to be very informative. I also liked Steve's anecdotes on his previous failed marriages and how to make a marriage work. A fun read, and very honest too.

3. Loved it! - The book is just simply fantastic, I mean great key- points made really giving you and that significant other things to think about. I indulged in this book and was done reading it, entirely, in days... It can open up great discussion, and help to make one aware as well as enforce different ways of handling and understanding MEN... Hands down- I love it!!!!!! Thanx Steve!

4. Daddy Says - Thank you Steve, everything you say in this book is exactly what my father has said to me, and would say to me. I am grateful that you reminded me of my upbringing. By the way my recently widowed mother wants me to get her both your books so she can read them. She is ! Off to the book store!

5. Really? - I liked this book, but heard that while Steve Harvey was writing this book he was cheating on his wife. Seriously? Most of the book felt like he was telling us women to give "the cookie" more often, meanwhile he was getting "the cookie" from someone else. On the other hand, the book showed me that I need to take value in my self and that I have a lot to offer. I will no longer waste time on the wrong men, and I will find out if the man I'm dating is in it to win it. I will not hold on to someone who does not have the same goals I do.

6. Great Book! - This book is excellent and gives MEN some insight has to how REAL MEN should think and approach their significant others. Clearly, people are entitled to their opinions but all of the negative reviewers thus far have said nothing constructive, only insulting. That tells me they're clueless and probably haven't even read the book. If you're truly interested in getting insight into how real men should think and what to do with a real man once you've found him, buy this book. Thanks, Steve, for a job well done. Again.

1. Oh, why did I hate this book so much? - I loved Belong to Me. I thought is was excellent, and so, months later, I bought this Falling Together, hoping for more of the same. Something happened, though, once I got last the first third of the book. I got bored. I mean, really bored. All this talk about Kat. We don't even know Kat - there's very little about her, so I didn't get the urge to find her. We got character descriptions of Will, and Pen, as nasueum. But nothing about Kat. Why were they so missing her? What was so wonderful about this Kat that left a big hole in each of them?
Beats me. I still don't get it. And the more I read, the more bored I got. Until I skimmed through the last half. Oh, how I hated this book. I think, mostly because her other book was so great, this one was so not.

1. This book will save my life - Neil is a brilliant writer and I cannot say enough about this book. At this point I am exactly where Neil starts this book on his journey. If you are a guy or a gal who thinks the grass is greener, then this book is a must read. Ive been blaming people, family, friends, teachers all of my life for things that I needed to fix internally. Ive been a sex addict for half of my life and it has left me with nothing to show for it. I have two failed marriages and Im lonely. After reading this book many of the questions I had in my head about monogamy and non monogamy have been answered and its time for me to grow up. Thank you Neil for this gift!

2. Thank You, Neil - The Truth is a book that means a lot to me. Neil’s journey inspired me to embark on a journey of my own, and for that I am grateful. I share this book with friends and family more than any other book in the hope that they get even a tiny percentage of the benefit this book has given me.

1. Not bad! - Kind of a dry read, Not to much personality or clever articulation like I typically like from my books (& a lot of swearing, but that’s a personal opinion and it’s what’s authentic to them then cool!) but it’s NOT BAD because I did get practical information on how to strengthen my marriage and it was refreshing to see how others have struggled in the same way we have

2. Thank you for your story of hope! - My wife and I are currently fighting to save our marriage. I have struggled with sex addiction for the past years and it was a bombshell that rocked our relationship to the core. We have two small kids like you and therapy is in the beginning phases. It is easy to lose hope but, I saw your interview on the ‘Today’ show and I couldn’t believe it. Your story, it was so eerily close to mine, it was like God was speaking to me. I have been reading this book non-stop for the past hours and it has truly given me hope. I love how real you two are as a couple and I am happy for your success. I have hope that I can beat this addiction and I will save my marriage. Thank you for sharing your story!

1. Refreshing and creative - I really loved this book and appreciated the refreshing and creative approach to parenting and all the things we struggle with as a family. He has lots of great ideas and I loved that he seemed advice and ideas from experts in other fields (no "parenting experts"). He also seems open to exploring new ideas and does not push for one specific agenda. Read this book through my local library, loved it so much I bought my own copy

1. Life-altering - The Intimacy Factor is a life changer! I am only about % through the book and I can already say that what is revealed in this book completely illuminates and explains the nuances of intimacy in relationships in language that anyone can understand. Who we are in adult relationships and the kinds of upbringing we had that led to such identities is vividly described in the contents of this book. What this makes possible is a profound new understanding of self in the context of relationship, others in relationship with us, and puts us in the driver's seat of our intimacy in all our relationships. Unbelievable read, an absolute must-read for everyone who interacts with other human beings!

1. Just Wow - This bout came right on time. I am currently going through a metamorphosis and pretty much everything was covered until I started reading this book. I then realized that what I was doing was not enough. I was the one reading and yet I was the one that got read for filth and you gotta love when a mirror is held up to you to pinpoint weakness and toxic behaviors to induce growth. Shan is indeed the G.O.A.T. Hands down.

2. I didn’t know what to expect, but I loved it! - Shan Boody, you have captivated me!!! Wow, what a journey I was not expecting to go on! It took me a moment to get into the book, but eventfully found myself staying up late at night eager to follow the stories of these girls that I saw so much of myself in. The book has changed my perspective on the world of dating.

3. Awesomeness in book form! - This book was awesome from beginning to end! It doesn’t matter what your relationship status is, you too can gain something from this literary masterpiece. From incredible stories of a journey we all go on to helpful tips on everyday life situations. I loved everything about this book!

4. Awesome - What I love most about this book is it's about empowering the participants (and reader) with tools to build their confidence in dating instead of prioritizing how to impress the person they're attracted to. Learning to enhance the person that you already are is WAY more valuable in building relationships than being a social chameleon. We can sometimes forget that our affection and time are just as precious as our love interests' so the tools on how to practice being more intentional with who we choose are helpful. The book gave the reader a walkthrough and the reasoning for each technique the group tried. Many of the techniques can be used outside of romantic relationships. The experiments were interesting, bold, and fun to read (in my Randy Jackson voice But the vagina juice one is a no for me dog). I enjoyed reading about the growth of each person and felt appreciative that they allowed Shan to share their experiences with us. I also loved how honest Shan was about her growth from working with the group. By the end of the book, I was proud of each person (I was literally smiling like they could see me). Shan seemed to do a great job being attentive to the needs of the group while also emboldening them to push past their comfort zone. I've bookmarked some parts to practice for myself. LOL this'll be interesting.

5. Best Dating Book - I was hooked from the introduction on. I pre-ordered this book and it did not disappoint. If you feel like your stuck in a dating rut or new to dating, this book is for you! Shan has you expand your mind and look at yourself inwards. Also great recommendations for other dating/self help books. Thank you Shan! Buying all my friends copies!

1. djcarter's book review - This book was selected as of books for my summer reading. I gave the book stars because I felt we all can learn a thing or two about ourselves and relationships regardless of ones age. I felt the book was straightforward, inspirational, and I will definitely recommend it to all the women; young in particular, as a good read. Thank you for sharing your perspective with the world...

2. I wish it was longer ! - I had just ended a short term something with this guy and he called me insecure, drama queen no fun having serious person. when I heard that I was surprised and not angry only because he said everything that I was suppressing about myself. He was my hobby and that was a big mistake. I wanted to be with him every hour and its because I didn't do anything with my time. I looked on the Internet for relationship advice on how to get him back (not anymore the past is the past time to move on) and I was about to pay dollars for the same advice Tionna wrote for dollars. There are no words for what doors her advice has opened for me. I absolutely loved this book and now I want to let everyone know what I know now. I have to love myself before I love another person and I am working on that. Tionna if you read this I want to thank you for the blunt advice you shared with me because it sounded like you were speaking only to me. Mr. Right will find me when I learn to love being in my own skin. Great advice and love the show on MTV !!

3. Must read! - I barely have time to sleep and I found time to finish this book. It was an easy and quick read. Very informative and helpful. It wasn't one sided and she shares her own story. Not like other self developments books that just TELL you what to do you. You might not be able to use all the tips now or they may not make sense now, but eventually they will. This is a MUST read for all women, whether single, married or dating.

1. Outstanding! - Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue interview long-married celebrity couples in intimate settings (usually their homes) to get the real story behind their wedded bliss. The conversations are thoughtful and inspiring, and cover just about everything any married couple experiences. I was totally impressed with this comprehensive collection and will certainly buy it again as a gift for newlyweds. Bravo, Phil and Marlo!

2. Stinker! - I don’t like giving a bad review for a couple that I like, but this book is more like interviews you’d read in a magazine. Marlo and Phil interviewed couples (each chapter is dedicated to one couple), and it became monotonous after two chapters. If you like to read about famous, rich couples and how they met and how they stay together, this book is for you, but I found it tedious to get through and couldn’t wait for it to be over. I’d give it one star but don’t want to be overly critical of such a sweet couple. It just doesn’t live up to the title.

1. Marriage Confidential by Pamela Haag - It was helpful to read about the struggles and creative solutions that other couples experience. 1. Great Questions! - My boyfriend and I went through this book and wrote down our answers in a journal as we went through it. We plan to eventually get married when he gets out of PT school, but this book really gives thought provoking questions perfect for preparing for marriage. I recommend for all couples to go through this book. It encourages communication and builds intimacy. Many of the questions are topics that wouldn’t normally come up in typical conversations.
