1. Great, - I have read the adult version of this book and I love it, but this book I think it is better suited for teens not kids, because of some of the book discussed in here were more likely to be read in high school. I did appreciate the analysis on well know books by kids like Charlie and Chocolate Factory, The Grinch and Harry Potter, those were great but books like the Iliad, I don’t remember having read those in the grade…anyhow I love books that explain something and if is done by an expert, even better.

2. Better Than the one for adults - My daughter was assigned How to Read Literature Like a Professor for high school summer reading in her IB program. I bought the e-book and said I'd read it, too. After all, I'm a librarian with master's degrees... I didn't make it. It was so dull and referenced many books I'd never read, much less that a teen would have read. My daughter finished it, but hated it. This one isn't really for kids--it's for teens. It does go off on books kids won't have read, but there are lots they will. I wish this had been assigned instead. Still a slow read, but at least relatable.

1. Good story, no enhancements - I bought this book for my son because it said it has enhanced images and sounds. There is none of that which I could get to work. It is a read-along book but the narrator is painfully slow. I understand you want to read clearly so that the child can follow along, but even my year old kept asking why it was going to slow. The story itself is fine and my son was able to read most of the book by himself and understand it all just fine, just wish I knew what the enhancements were and how to activate them.

Lost on a mountain in Maine - This book is so good that I have read it two times and my wife said stop hogging the book because she wanted to read it really really badly so I finally let her but it was hard to let go of the book and I can relate to Donn Fendler a lot like I like to hike a lot just like he did and he and I both grew up in Maine so yeah. I would have to rate this book at a a five star because I like it so much.

1. Even my kids are confused - First I'll say that my three year old daughter enjoys the interactive features and video aspects, but it's as if it was written in another language and someone used google to translate it to English. Sentence structure and grammar is horrible, there is no indication of who is talking, so even my girls were confused as to what was happening half the time. I will not be reading this one again.
