1. One of my best friends as a parent - I have wept through a number of these episodes, so relatable gentle and encouraging. Makes you realize you are not alone in just about every situation in parenthood, even the times when you just lose it. Helps me see myself as good inside and my children as good inside and all of us as working through things altogether as a team. Love Dr Becky, love her guests. GREAT podcasts for all the parents.

2. Eating out in a restaurant, why do it if your kids can’t behave? - Interesting podcast. Part of being a parent is understanding what your child is capable of in terms of behavior. If they cannot sit still for more than a few minutes because they are too young, then please do not put them in a situation they cannot handle. It isn’t fair to them, to the other people around them and clearly the parents had a miserable time at dinner. I do not understand putting you or your child in this situation. You can practice go out to dinner at home and once they can sit down for about minutes, then try it in a restaurant. This way everyone is set up for success. In the meantime, get takeout.

3. A great parenting support - Parenting in today times is hard... Listening to Dr. Becky’s podcasts give me weekly motivation and support to keep trying to improve and stay on a healthy path. Private therapy is expensive and Dr. Becky is an excellent filler to work on things in life. She breaks it down with scripts and strategies that make it easier to implement. I do believe she will change you as a parent and I only wish she was around when I starting having kids years ago.

4. Changing Patterns - I didn’t want to repeat the mistakes of my own parents but didn’t have a lot of great modeling to follow up the theories about emotionally intelligent parenting. I so appreciate the constant use of examples and explanation of those examples. You’re changing an entire generation of parents and children and we thank you.

5. My go-to for tough topics - I am a licensed counselor, and a parent of three young kids. I have felt immensely grateful to Dr Becky for helping me navigate tough concepts for my kids. Most of these topics are things I have learned from graduate school and trainings - but to hear how she applies these concepts is a whole other level of support I didn’t know I needed. She has a wonderful perspective that is a breath of fresh air to me as a Mom!

6. My top parenting podcast/resource - This podcast is the literal best out there for parents. I love the vast array of topics she covers, and how she goes in-depth so much to the point of actually giving talking points and role playing a conversation. Such good level headed parenting advice. I wish I had known about this when my kids were little, I only found her about a year ago, but it’s still very relevant for my middle-schoolers. Absolutely love this.

7. Mentality shift I needed - I have recently started listening to the podcast (from the beginning) and, in the very first episode, when I put my hand over my heart and told myself- and mentally included my daughter- that we were good inside, I teared up. The advice starts to feel repetitive in a really wonderful way. In so many situations I can focus on the inner struggle that my child is going through and it gives me the strength and focus to keep my reactions coming from a place of love and empathy. And the repetition helps me to internalize and fall back on these strategies. I feel like I can coming from a much more stable foundation for my kids- which is what we all need. THANK YOU

8. Refreshing and Empowering - I am so grateful to Dr. Becky. Listening to her podcast and diving into her book has made me look at my kids, myself, and parenting so differently. I love the way Dr. Becky role plays conversations and breaks down the best ways to talk to our kids. She is refreshing and empowering and I highly recommend everyone have some Dr. Becky in their life!

1. The hard truth - I love this podcast because Dr. Laura tells it how it is even if it’s not what the person wants to hear. I don’t hear that much in this day and age and I appreciate it. She gives straightforward advice that you can apply to your life when the caller aligns with what you’re going through. Thank you Dr. Laura! I’ve grown a lot from your podcast and your book “the proper care and feedings of husbands”! Peace and love!

2. Love it - Love to listen to this show. From time to time I pay for the full show but in between I listen to the call of the day podcast and love it. So much great advice here. I’m not going to say I agree with % of the advice given but dare I say % of the time I do. With that said, I don’t think any two people could ever agree on everything anyway lol so it’s definitely worth listening to for anyone. Just sharing my opinion. Great show. Please keep it up!

3. Mind blowing - I love to listen and have been listening for years. I can’t believe how Dr Laura speaks to her guests and how her guests take the crap she dishes out. Dr. Laura is self-righteous and does understand the necessity of diversity and individuality.
I am always wondering who the poor bastard will be on the next call.

4. Nope. - Shocked and disgusted with the way this woman speaks to her callers that are sharing their most vulnerable moments. Constantly cutting people off, calling her callers dumb, and giving the most toxic misogynistic advice. We are NOT living in the ’s. It’s ok to hold your husband accountable if he’s sexting or talking to other women. And for the love of GOD you do not have to have sex with your husband every single night or pretend to be happy when your partner upsets you. Your needs & your feelings matter! I hope the people calling seek help elsewhere, from someone that advocates for women & won’t cut you off or belittle you or your feelings.

5. Dr Laura is the best therapist ever!! - I wish I could have listened to her show years ago. I know now I would have made better choices and decisions. It’s never too late and with her no nonsense knowledge and advise, she has helped me tremendously Dr Laura thank you so much for everything you do for me and your faithful listeners. Vals

6. WOW - Incredibly RUDE and a Gaslighter - Dr. Laura should NOT be giving advise or counseling anyone especially those who are seeking help and support. She’s rude to her callers, talks to them so condescendingly, and thinks she’s a drill Sargent. Callers - hope you find help from someone else…yikes, Dr. Laura, you need to learn some kindness and compassion.
2022-09-15
7. Refreshing, bold, honest advice! - I’ve listened to the radio show for over decades have have her books. Dr. Laura is amazingly insightful, witty, and gives honest feedback. She doesn’t tell callers what they want to hear but instead what they need to hear. Her advice brings about personal growth in all relationships.

8. No - Judging people does that seem right because that’s what you’re doing you’re judging everyone and it’s disgusting that you think your that privileged that you can do that you are disgusting that you can think you can do then what twisted way doDo you think you can talk to people like thatHow is that right in your mind it’s disgusting and filthy and I would be ashamed of myself.

1. Fake and not living up to the values you promote - It is completely inappropriate to prey upon the audience. Trying to give advice on one topic while in the advertising during the program you literally prey upon that same emotion/concern. Suggesting that everyone’s cookware is bad for their health and hurting their family without providing ANY evidence of what is harmful. Why if your purpose is to help people would you seek to cause anxiety for the audience on another topic. You could have said no to that add and forced them to take a high road in the ad.

2. Best Parenting Podcast - By Far - Listening to Dr. Aliza Pressman has been a weekly routine of mine since season . She no only helps me to become a better parent and understand my son and how he’s developing, but she help me to better understand myself. I always say child development is everyone’s development because we were all children. She only speaks on topics she is familiar with and invites guests who are experts in the field. Every show is based in science, not empirical evidence. But she does connect science with her own experiences of being a parent. I could go on and on, but it’s better to listen to her podcast than read my take on how great she is. Give it a listen, one episode and you’ll be hooked and better for it.

3. Very informative and helpful - I’ve been loving Dr. Aliza. I especially love the episode with Dr. Brackett. I love that he actually shared the strategy for parents to deal with their own anxiety/emotions, instead of just with our children’s. It is helpful for me because I never learnt this, and I want to be able to model it for my kids. Thank you so much!

4. LOVE this podcast - I’ve been working with the seedlings team ever since my son was born years ago! They have guided me through so many difficult parenting scenarios, including my painful divorce. Thanks to Aliza, I felt empowered to speak to my children on this difficult topic in an educated and confident way. There is a lot of parenting advice out there but the advice they give here is grounded in data so you feel truly certain that their guidance is appropriate and sound. I love this podcast and am so grateful for their these brilliant ladies!

5. Such a great podcast! Highly recommend! - Dr Aliza is amazing. She is compassionate, reasonable, and relatable. Her guests are some of the best in the field and extremely knowledgeable. She is my go-to for all things child development and parenting. I’ve learned so much from her. Thank you Dr Aliza! You’re the best!

6. PLEASE READ!!! HONEST REVIEW - I only WISH i could fully explain how amazing this podcast is. I am a young mother, who comes from a very traditional disciplinary family background, in all of my relationships (daughter, employee, gf, etc) i struggle with setting boundries or making any confident decisions… ever. im also a christian for context. Growing up my parents would always excuse away toxic behavior as “theres no parenting handbook” and now in this by far is the EXACT parenting handbook EVERYONE should listen & read and try their HARDEST to put into practice. I came to this podcast for parenting advice/knowledge but learned shortly after you don't even need to be a parent to have take aways from this. And if you're spiritual and find it conflicting bcuz its heavy in science you can also find it valuable bcuz it shares so many values. So its science & knowledge you could add to your tool belt & not in place of. its so nicely explained that anyone can understand and put into practice. its a positive & nurishing podcast that i would love to just add to my perception . the whole podcasts focuses on mindfulness to raise confident resilient, kind, self motivated, self regulated children . l don’t use it in place of God but rather like additional knowledge thats based in science of cognitive and neurological development. And on a more personal level this podcast has helped broaden my level of self awareness, helped me parent my own inner child. It has helped me become more assertive while remaining compassionate. It has given me EVERYDAY practical nuggets i can not only use with my two year old daughter but even help other mommies who struggle with understanding what they’ve coined “gentle parenting” Dr.Aliza even has the best guests on this podcast too. She has definitely built strong relationships with other qualified and renowned doctors & professionals who offer even more insight who offer their factual data, research or even perspectives. I always wanted understandable yet factual data that explained research and statistics and ive finally found it. Listening to this podcast started off as my parenting journey but slowly poured into MANY relationships in my life. / i really wish aliza was on TIK TOK ik she would THRIVE on an app with that much outreach!!!!

7. Raising Good Humans is my Rock! - Always my go to for self help as a parent and as a human! Dr Aliza just has the right stuff. I never tire of her topics— they are always relevant. Part of what makes these episodes so appealing is her natural ability to bring out the best in her expert/guests. Her two part series on Internal Family Systems model has been incredible for me to discover. Thank you so much for all the work you continue to do for us, Dr Aliza! With love and gratitude from Victoria BC - Mychalpink

8. A terrific podcast! - This is one of the few podcasts that I subscribe to, and sometimes even listen to twice (on purpose) … Dr Pressman asks just the right questions of her wonderful guests, and I’m usually left reconsidering not only my parenting but my parents choices as well - not a bad thing. She’s kind and smart and gentle, like a great therapist should be, and doesn’t ‘oversell’ either the topic or the sponsors, like some other podcasts do. Her love of her work comes through, and I’m very grateful to have stumbled upon her. I cannot recommend this podcast enough.

1. Great content - cringe format - I love the content in this podcast! However, I find the conversational dynamic between the host and Dr Lisa painful to listen to. Why do they whisper so much? Why do they giggle and say “Wow!” so much? Can we get a different host? Or could Dr. Lisa run the show on her own? And can she please speak clearly without whispering half the episode?

2. Thank you! - I have year old twins, a boy and a girl, and they’re completely opposite. I’ve been struggling emotionally to make sure my son is doing okay. And I get one word answers. Thank you for your Podcast about talking with your teenage sons. I have your book Untangled, and it’s wonderful. I appreciate your podcast and books, thank you!
2023-02-17
3. Practical and uplifting - With a new teenager, I’ve been checking out lots of parenting podcasts. Ask Lisa is the only one I’ve stuck with… and now I use her advice almost every day to move from kid-parenting to teen-parenting (without losing my mind). After working through much of the Ask Lisa podcast catalog, I purchased both of Dr. Lisa’s books on Audible, and I started following her high-value posts/reels on Instagram. I now recommend the podcasts to my mom-friends, and we all find her so helpful. Truly life-changing!!

4. Great podcast! - This podcast is so relevant and helpful. The hosts are so thorough and give reasons and responses when trying to understand our teens and what they are working through. Highly recommend. Even if you think the topic/title isn’t relevant to you, it is worth a lesson. I always have take a ways.

5. Love - mostly. (.) - Podcast resonates... so informative and thought provoking. This feels so nitpicky, but Reena's repeated use of "WOW, I've never thought of that!" (or some minor variation) in EVERY episode has become grating. Reena is great other than that, but with a podcast, the audio cringes matter.
2022-05-13
6. A goldmine of info!!! - I absolutely loved Lisa’s book, Untangled. And I love how this podcast takes all that great advice and applies it to everyday parenting problems. You start listening to a podcast on how to get your kid to keep their room clean and end up learning a seriously important lesson on how to keep your kids off drugs!!! (Seriously. Listen to that one.) Thank you, Lisa! I highly recommend this podcast!
2021-11-03
7. Encouraging and realistic - I never regret listening. Even when the episode doesn’t apply to my kiddos age (yet) I find the content thought provoking. Many ideas and solutions are given for problems we have already faced and will eventually. Lisa gives realistic, actionable advice with real life experiences to help navigate these tough issues. She breaks complex problems into steps we can take to ease the issue. Highly recommend for pre-teen (and teen) parents!

8. Ok… - Dr. Lisa is pretty good- has lots of helpful tips, but I wish she’d just get down to business. All of her “empathic” comments about “oh wow, what a great question! That’s amazing!” Really? Just give us the tips! The filler, like the above” is extremely annoying. We don’t need to be talked down to.

2. A teachers review. - As a recently retired teacher who has taught in a conservative district I would welcome any parents who would be willing to stand up for their kids. Too many times all I see are kids who have not been parented. It’s very evident when students have parents who are involved in their lives. Those are the kids who are easy to teach. All the rest are parents who don’t seem to give a hoot about what’s happening to their kids. Students with responsible parents are at the mercy of the poor actions of those who are not being truly parented. Many teachers in more liberal areas are afraid to speak up for fear of losing their jobs.

3. Family Goals - I love the Duffys. I love that they are committed, conservative Catholics that stand up for the endless attacks on the traditional Christian family. I love that they’re Wisconsinites, Go Pack Go! They are a bulwark against the modernist secular culture that is rotting America from within. God bless them and their children.

4. Keep doing what you’re doing! - I love sitting at your kitchen table! Sometimes the subjects are difficult to hear and I have to take several deep breaths. Other times like the recent royals discussion I gain so much insight about human behavior. Keep weighing in and bringing your audience topics that make us think and expand our view of the world. Thank you, Helena

5. HELP - Suggesting that the biggest error in the judgement of Ron DeSantis is eliminating key lime pie as the state dessert. Very stupid. Stating that Democrats are trying to remove the idea of family--amazingly ridiculous. My Catholic Church, St. Mary's, is full of nothing but Democratic American family loving taxpayers. They are all nd, rd, th and th generation Irish, Filipino, Chinese, Latin and a bro from FIJI. My siblings and I all all still very close as are our combined children. All college grads and skilled tradesman. We do it all from abalone diving to zip lining. We pay our bills, pay our taxes, and enjoy our lives to the fullest. We were catholic educated through grammar school and Jesuit educated next. We learned the Golden Rule, common sense, right versus wrong and many other good lessons. Tell the truth is a good one AKA quit lying. Trump is not a leader and neither are his cowardly supporters. As your enrage people with the messages within your pleasant oral delivery, things could get potentially ugly with some families. Many will need to morally stand against their brothers. Imagine mothers watching grandchildren heading to a civil war with dependents on both sides. Simply put, this is what you are encouraging to occur.

6. Jason and Sean on Congress - Love Duffy podcast it is so real. When discussing the standards of congress and Dems breaking long standing decorum and Republicans not retaliating is missing the point and one of my top complaints about the Republicans. I think we should be the better people but I think what is the fix and also the weakness of Republicans is not standing up and fighting AT THE TIME and allowing it. Because Dems don’t learn by example. They have only learned they can get away with it. We are into too serious of times to let things go like McCarthy allowing Pelosi to take his power and right to assign who he wanted at the January th commission. They look weak and submissive to the Dems and why Trump is loved by the people for not letting it go. It is kinda like letting a year old have it’s way when they throw a fit, it works and gets worse.

7. LOVE Sean and Rachel: MTV’s cutest couple! - I have really enjoyed listening to your podcast, especially as you have been digging deeper into the college discussion. I attended a private college here in my hometown almost years ago. I met my husband there and that’s about the only positive I can say about it now. We have degrees between us from it. However, it has become so “woke” that we have decided to no longer give them money. So thank you for validating that decision!
Regarding the recent “FLORIDA’s State Dessert” conversation: I vote for Key Lime Pie all the way! Perhaps it’s a conspiracy started by Kayleigh McEnany (she is from Plant City, FL, Strawberry Capital, after all!). Just kidding, Kayleigh!!
Rachel, I just adore you and always have, and Sean, I also married a man who has siblings! He’s number out of . May God continue to bless your sweet family, especially little Valentina!
I hope y’all see this review … keep up the GREAT work!!

1. A must listen for ANY parent of young children. - I wish I had found this sooner! My kids were
& when I started listening years ago. It’s still been super helpful for addressing parenting concerns for those ages and beyond, but I wish I had know about Magda’s methods when my oldest was born in . I think it would have changed SO much about how I interacted with him and thought about him — those were difficult times for me, as they are for many first timers. Thank you, Janet, for continuing Magda’s legacy and giving this gift to frazzled parents the world over. Ruth

2. It works! - I’m nervous to write this review because sometimes it feels like I have to be facing the right direction, at the right time of day, during the right phase of the moon, to get a yes from my toddler instead of a very physical tantrum. However, I’ve been listening to this podcast for a month, and listed to her book. Tonight I discussed with my toddler why I wanted her to take a bath and brush her teeth. And then…she did it. We have been struggling with this for over a year. Maybe a one off but it feels good to know that I could stay calm regardless of her outcome and not feel panicked over what to do next. Staying with my toddlers emotions helps me to stay with my own. I’m so glad I found this podcast.

3. Only works for one kid - I had to stop listening. Most all of her advice is only applicable if you have one kid. As someone with two kids very close in age there were so many things I couldn’t follow. I can’t just pick up one kid and bring them out when they have a tantrum because I have two and the other will start to tantrum. I can’t physically carry both. Was really disappointed in her advice but probably works ok if you have one kid.

4. Best parenting podcast out there - Janet speaks honestly, with authority, openness, and empathy. Her advice is more nuanced than others; she doesn’t give “strategies” or “scripts.” She stays true to the concept of a unique relationship between parent and child and the complex ways parents provide “helpful” interventions on the surface but often communicate other mixed-messages in action, tone and manner. She encourages parents to think about their role in an alive dynamic with their children. I love this about her approach. Janet stimulates thinking! Personally, I love this about her podcast. There are so many “things to do” as a parent, instead she shows you how to be in the process, reflect on your contribution as a parent, think deeply (beyond surface behaviors) and trust your child. And for this reason alone, she is an invaluable resource and unlike any other parenting podcast out there.

5. A lot of fluff - I have been listening to this podcast for nearly five years. Each episode I note similar repetitions. . She often avoids a direct answer . She often states how someone has misinterpreted her previous advice (not surprising when she’s so vague in her responses) . I find she embarrassed some of the vulnerable parents who so humbly write in . One a note of personal observation, I find the letters that parents submit to her (to be read aloud and responded to) to be very…. Edited. It’s hard to believe that each person who submits a question a. Starts with an abundance of praise for her . Has such strong vocabulary…. It just seems like the unruffled team really modifies these to be consistently shaped the same to the point where it’s unrelatable. As I mentioned, I’ve been listening to this podcast for a while but when I compare this to “good inside” or other helpful parenting podcasts…. I’m quite easily discouraged by this one and definitely recommend others rather than this.

6. Bad ads but long-time fan of Janet! - Janet, I LOVE YOU! I’m a long-time follower of your work and everything you do is A in my book. I support that you do this as a business and you should be compensated for the invaluable advice/expertise that you offer so I wouldn’t dare take off a star, but I had to let you know that your new ads are so abrupt! I loved the former model of your voice advertising for companies that you really stood behind. Random product ads and political ads (the worst) abruptly placed at the beginning AND end of the podcast are an unwelcome change for me. They won’t keep me from listening altogether, but I may not add to my playlist as I did before because I can’t stand the content when I don’t have my phone close enough by to skip it! We live in a digital world where there’s almost no corner untouched by obtrusive advertising, and my old favorite podcast is now no exception. I would love to escape the rat race while listening to parenting advice!

7. All the parenting advice you wish you were raised with - Janet has a way of helping parents help their kids. She did for me and my toddler using her RIE approach. Whenever I have a parenting challenge, I look to search Janets archives and listen to her podcasts to help me navigate the challenge. Her wisdom and knowledge has helped me become the best parent I can be. Thankful for all the free content she has put out there and loved her book No bad kids. Thanks Janet for helping our family navigate toddlerhood.

8. Recovered Memories are Bad Science - Recent episode featured Dr. Jean Cheng who kept talking about forgotten traumas and repressed memories. These are claims that have been repeatedly debunked by established science. Not only is it bad science; it has the potential to tear apart families over allegations of abuse that never happened (and rewriting childhood memories). This episode implied that if you feel uncomfortable with certain behaviors from your child, you may well have repressed “traumas” that you do not recall from your own child. This advice is faulty and negligent. I no longer feel I can trust the content of this podcast.

1. Reference: S E - Uninformed and Harmful - I have been listening to this podcast for a while, and have really enjoyed much of the content, until I listened to this episode. The comment made regarding gender and sexuality was extremely disheartening, not to mention uninformed. If you are not a doctor who specializes in gender, or God himself, then you should not be trying to “speak truth” to families who have children who were either diagnosed with gender dysphoria or who are questioning their sexuality. Please do better and keep your opinion to yourself so as to not alienate those whose reality is much different from your own. The church is in trouble, and this is for sure one reason why.

4. Binge worthy - I binge these podcasts because they make me feel like I’m not the only mom dealing with this. They cover so many good topics but also explain the science and reason behind it. There is so much truth in these episodes and I absolutely love listening and putting into practice things that I’m learning. Raising boys is better with this resource!!

5. Best thing to binge while mowing grass! :) - As a busy mom of girls and a boy, I barely have time to read. However, I can listen to this podcast on a walk, doing chores, or my favorite-mowing grass. I have been convicted, encouraged, inspired, and left hopeful all in one. I cannot begin to describe what a God-send this podcast is for me. I am beyond grateful.

6. Grateful! - So grateful to have David, Sissy, and Melissa who speak truth into us as parents! They give us insight into our children and really encourage us as parents to feel confidant in our calling. What a blessing they have been to my parenthood journey. They have truly changed this stage of my life!

7. My Favorite Podcast! - I look forward to every episode of this podcast and always walk away from it encouraged. Although I’ve never met her in person, I feel like Sissy, David, and Melissa are my parenting counselors! Sissy has a gift for connecting with girls! My daughter and I started working through her book Braver, Stronger, Smarter and she said, “I feel like Sissy wrote this book just for me.” She then proceeded to ask me if she could meet with Sissy the next time we are in Nashville visiting Grandma (we live in Oregon). I was able to tell her that there are people like Sissy that she could meet with, and my year old daughter asked to begin counseling (livingwholehearted mycourageousgirls). Thank you Sissy, David, and Melissa for your Christ-Filled messages for kids and parents!

8. So helpful! - This podcast is SO incredibly helpful! I’m a pastor of women’s ministry at my church and have kids. Their insight, tricks of the trade, and wisdom has helped me tremendously. Their books, Wild Things and All You Need to Know About Girls are both gold as well. THANK YOU for such a gracious and directional podcast!!!

1. Love her books, newsletter and podcast - I can’t remember how I initially heard about Emily Oster but I read Expecting Better while pregnant with my first child and it was the best thing I could have done to ease my anxiety around the supposed Dos and Donts of pregnancy. Since then I’ve read or ordered all of her books (my kids are still young, & so I haven’t quite gotten into Family Firm yet but loved Cribsheet). I can’t recommend her content enough. She also seems really cool and feels like the mom friend everyone needs :). She has great interviews in her newsletter/podcast and everything feels really vetted and genuine.

2. Fantastic translation of scientific research - I’ve learned so much from Oster’s books and her newsletter podcast is of the same quality. She translates complicated science and evidence so that you can better weigh it for your own personal decisions. Highly recommend the newsletter podcast and the newsletter itself!

3. Data driven, mostly unbiased, good topics - Terrific podcast. Too many other podcasts take on the “this is what I think” attitude with little support. That’s not this one. Excellent research, well presented, fair and the analysis is clear. Decent production, though the sound quality varies sometimes. Also, I wish the programs were longer.

1. So Encouraging & Helping me to grow Closer to the Lord and my children! - I found this podcast through a friend and wow I can’t get enough! Ginger and Katie are so relatable while pointing us to Jesus and who He is. I’ve been struggling in my parenting methods for years trying to figure it out like my children needed fixing. What I’m discovering through reading my Bible and I’m this podcast is they do need fixing by the holy spirit and through my husband and I helping them see they need Jesus and He is the only one who can do the true fixing. I’m in the middle of reading Gingers book and cannot get enough of this podcast. You guys are doing amazing work! Thank you for coming alongside us as we strive to lead our kiddos to Christ!

2. Biblical, practical approach to parenting - This is a wonderful podcast that actually gives tips to parent your child biblically. I have read different parenting books over the years that have given an outline for how biblical parenting looks to the heart and not just behavior but they have all fallen short in expressing exactly what that looks like practically. This podcast finally has answered that! Ginger shows you how to use God’s Word and principles to help your child learn what’s right. This is “long game” parenting and works on not just changing your child’s external behavior but their heart. I highly recommend this podcast!

3. An anchor in the storm! - I look forward to every episode of this podcast! Godly advice applied to my daily struggles in trying to raise my children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord is invaluable. I especially appreciate how liberally they apply Scripture to everyday parenting situations. Thank you so much, Ginger and Katie!
2023-02-17
4. LOVE this podcast! - I love all the practical advice Ginger and Katy give and how the approach to parenting is very gospel centered and saturated in scripture. They give great heart probing questions to reveal the need for a savior, not just addressing outward behavior, and then walk you through biblically what to put off and on. Both Ginger and Katy are also just easy to listen to, humble, transparent with their own struggles and entertaining. I love this podcast and I’m very grateful for all the hard work that goes into each episode!

5. Amazing Biblical Parenting Advice! - I have learned so much from listening to these podcasts and have been able to share them with my husband who struggles with anger and discipline for our kids. It’s helped us to get on the same page and the way Ginger explains her methods is straight from the Holy Spirit guiding her as to what to say. It pierced our hearts through the scripture and sound advice. Highly recommend!

6. Scripture in a practical way - I love listening to Ginger and Katy as they share what the Bible says in relation to how we parent. They constantly are teaching practical ways to share and apply Scripture with our children. What a powerful way to instill the Gospel daily in our homes! Love this podcast!

7. I recommend this podcast to everyone I know! - This podcast is phenomenal for any parent seeking encouragement and guidance as they minister to their children. While I definitely listen because Ginger and Katy are relatable and hilarious, this podcast is undergirded and motivated by God’s Word. The advice offered is wise and timeless and reliable - because it comes straight from Scripture. Thank you ladies for your heart for mothers and your humility and most of all, for modeling how we should turn first to God’s Word in the midst of our parenting struggles. I HIGHLY recommend the resources authored by Ginger Hubbard - especially the Wise Words for Moms Chart (which I reference daily!) Do yourself a favor and check these out; and make sure to purchase directly through their website.

8. A first time mom who is deeply challenged and encouraged - My husband and I have a two month old son. This is our first child, and I am so hungry for biblical wisdom to guide our parenting. I first read Don’t Make Me Count to Three a few years ago, and I revisited it during my pregnancy. Since discovering this podcast recently, I have been devouring the episodes. There is a lot of fear in my heart about not doing well at raising our son up in the ways of the Lord, but Katy and Ginger, you leave me encouraged with the solid biblical counsel and the reminder that as we humbly seek the Lord, He will direct my steps. At the end of each episode, I am left not only better equipped to raise our child according to God’s Word, but I am also challenged to deepen my walk with Him. I have felt lonely, discouraged and distant from God as I navigate these very difficult newborn days, and your podcast has been a breath of fresh air that is lovingly pushing me to draw near to my Heavenly Father.

1. Dr - I stumbled on the podcast recently (last few months), and really love it. I see my relationship with my husband in their ADHD/anxiety pairing and have found their discussions helpful in thinking about how I engage with my own partner. I also really enjoyed the episode on peri/menopause, as no one else seems to want to talk about it (doctors give the brush off). Finally, inspired by one of your episodes, I completed my own mishuggena? muskeegee? in January! Thanks for the inspiration!

2. // Mismatch episode - Kim,
I have been married years. My husband is not a sharer like Penn. we used to fight about it early in our marriage. I wanted him to change but what I learned is he isn’t going to change. But he does try, let Penn said he is going to do. Just don’t be disappointed if he doesn’t do it. Sandy

3. Show each other more love than randos - Kim… Penn. I love your pod so much. This one really really resonated with me. I love how you both articulate complex relationship feelings and “stuff” so precisely. And you guys show us how to make a hard thing a little better with action. Hope your holidays are bright and wonderful. Love you guys.

4. Holiday Marriage contract - Just listened to this podcast. Kim & Penn, I cried along with you. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability. I’m sure that wasn’t easy. I can relate to so many things in your marriage. Hearing it makes me feel “normal” in my marriage. I love the idea of the holiday marriage contract. I’m going to propose it to my husband. Can I have the PDF?? Thanks for making me laugh, cry and everything in between. Happy Holidays! Melissa

5. Easy to root for you guys - You guys have a natural charm about you. My favorite episodes are when you are talking about your kids Lola and PC, the holidays, or your day-to-day life experiences. When you did the podcast about Penn’s dad passing, I felt honored to be a part of that raw vulnerability and heartfelt conversation and celebration of life. I also loved all your amazing race podcasts. Praying for you and hope you have a meaningful Christmas!
2022-11-26
6. Entertaining and fun - I’ve watched them on The Amazing Race and love how Penn and Kim balance each other out. I love how vulnerable Kim makes herself on the show being transparent about her anxiety. I love to hear how Penn supports her. I struggle with anxiety as well and would love to find a partner who can be as supportive. I honestly have not listened to very many episodes, however, from the ones I have listened to, I know that they can talk about serious topics while also keeping the conversation light and humorous. They are real people and very relatable.

7. Keeping it Real and Fun - Hi Kim and Penn! I love all of your entertainment platforms! I loved you guys before the pandemic, but your song parodies truly got me through the first few months of that craziness. This podcast is so fun to listen to. I love your banter and conversations about real topics on your mind. You have opened my eyes to different view points and I look forward to listening every week!
2022-11-03
8. Refreshing! - I look forward to new episodes of this podcast every week. I am in the thick of little kid life and all that comes with it but my oldest is creeping into the big kid years. Sometimes the thought of what is next can make me uneasy. This podcast gives me reassurance that the next phase is going to be just as great (maybe better?!) than having babies and toddlers. I love hearing about all the things their family is able to do together and I especially appreciate the honesty about what marriage can be like when you’re raising kids. The way that they respect and honor each other, make time for their relationship outside of being Mom and Dad, the way they cheer each other on in their respective interests/hobbies and just their overall love for each other makes this one of my favorite things to listen to each week. Thank you Kim and Penn!

Childhood is finite at just shy of 9.5 million minutes. We only get one shot at it. One of the biggest decisions we make is how we will use that time. Research has confirmed time and time again that what children are naturally and unabashedly drawn to, unrestricted outside play, contributes extensively to every area of childhood development. The importance here cannot be understated. Every year we aim to match nature time with the average amount of American kid screen time (which is currently...

1. Best Podcast Available - This podcast has changed my life! The encouragement, education, and joy I get from Ginny is immeasurable. Ginny is such a great host because she prepares well and always picks up on nuances in an author’s writing. When she interviews an author, they are always commenting on how she was able to “catch” something in the book. It’s because she pours into her guests and can bring things out of them they often have never mentioned on another podcast/interview. Ginny is the best host I’ve ever listened to- she asks great questions and makes everyone feel important. You can tell she is genuinely interested and it makes it fun and interesting for the listener. She is inspirational and fosters hope for our kids and how we can live with nature as a part of our lives. Every episode has been a winner and she makes great use of the time she has, always respectful of the guests’ time. She’s the best friend we all wish we had!

2. The coolest parenting podcast - Absolutely phenomenal guests. You will be so inspired and encouraged to let kids be kids and hear from amazing experts. The top names in child rearing. I’ve bought so many books because of this podcast, and I love Ginny’s joy that radiates through. I’ve never adored anyone more that I don’t know! I so appreciate that she actually prepares for guests, reads their books, seems genuinely interested and encouraging, and sounds like she is smiling when she talks. This podcast is such a light!

3. Love this podcast so much - I’ve been listening to this podcast regularly for the past year. It leaves me feeling inspired. I love all of the interviews with authors. I’ve learned about so many great books that I’ve gone on to read. Ginny does an incredible job interviewing. She really does her research ahead of time which is really nice. The authors are often so excited about how well she understands the book and how thoughtful her questions are. It’s amazing! Looking forward to what comes out this year.
2023-02-08
4. Life Changing! - I cannot express my gratitude for Ginny and what she has provided and continues to provide for our family and others. Her work is life changing and usually her podcast hit home and leave my brain spinning. I can’t get enough!!! I knew being outside was important but her podcast just leave my wowed with the content and statistics.

5. Ginny is Gifted! - Wow. Oh, wow. I get so excited whenever I see a new podcast drops. Ginny is a gifted interviewer; I listen to lots of podcasts including interviews by journalists, and no other host knows their material or asks better questions than Ginny. Her bubbly spirit brings a smile to my face. She helps me see the fun and beauty in life, and it keeps me coming back each week for another episode. It also keeps my book list growing as she introduces me to so many incredible people and materials. Thank you, Ginny!

6. Such a variety of good stuff! - This has become my new favorite podcast. Ginny is such an enthusiastic and fun host and she clearly does her research so she’s quite familiar with each guest’s work - thus she can lead the conversation so well. My only (tongue in cheek) complaint is that the guests are so engaging and interesting I am adding more books to my to-be-read shelf than I can probably keep up with haha! There are so many topics but all are relevant to parents who seek intentionality and wonder for their families.
2023-02-04
7. Thanks, Ginny! - Even though I don’t feel our family needs a big outside goal, this podcast is my absolute favorite! Ginny’s upbeat personality and interesting guests keep me entertained while learning so much to help my family (and myself). I’m always happy to see a new episode pop up in my notifications!

8. New listener and really loving! - We subscribed to the KHO ideals last year but have just jumped into the podcast this year. It has helped me to get more excited about home educating next year and feel confident that I am making the best decision for our family. Thank you Ginny for hosting a great podcast that inspires others with your excellently selected guests!

1. So practical! - Love this podcast and her book! Some parenting books or advice is so abstract that it’s not helpful for the day-to-day. She is so down to earth and gives practical tips and advice that moms can take and adjust to their own home and families. I really appreciate being able to learn and glean from a more seasoned mother! Thank you

2. Eye-opening concepts, practical advice, great application ideas. - This show is beautiful. Abbie is such a warm, gracious host, encouraging mamas to have hope, give themselves grace, and keep loving into the lives of their children. Her advice is steeped in biblical truth and is great for hopeful, expectant, or current mamas.

3. Wish I could sit at her feet and glean wisdom - I’m a mama of and am always eager to learn from wise women who have walked the path before me. I absolutely loved the book so when a friend told me about the podcast I raced here as fast as I could. I listened to all the episodes quickly and am eagerly awaiting future ones!
2023-02-27
4. Encouraging words for mamas! - Thank you for putting out this podcast! This is one of the things I’ve missed about getting off of social media so I’m glad Abbie shares her thoughts in this space. I’ve always appreciated how she points her audience to the Bible and what is honoring to the Lord. Can’t wait to hear more in upcoming episodes!
2023-02-26
5. Just so good - I have never listened to a podcast consistently, but this one I look forward to. Abbie is so skilled in speaking and teaching through her own experiences. This podcast is entertaining, encouraging, and provides the biblical mama wisdom that the world of motherhood desperately needs! It’s just so good.
2023-02-20
6. Encouraging, Biblical foundation, fun! - I love everything that Abbie has to say and I know she’s trustworthy because everything is biblically based! Thank you for doing this! My only recommendation- can you post the scriptures you use during the podcast somewhere? If I’m driving, I can’t write them down!
2023-02-19
7. Exactly what I’ve been looking for!! - Abbie thank you so much for doing this podcast! I've really been enjoying it. Although I’m in a very different place in my life than you, for one thing my husband and I are not raising children yet, I find it very uplifting to listen to your perspective which seems to be biblically grounded and refreshing. For me, I have a hard time finding a podcast that I consistently like listening to. I don't want something all concerned with issues of the day, or more worldly concerns. I'm usually trying to find something that helps me to center my mind on the the things that are good, noble and true. And also to encourage me in the areas where I want to place more importance and preparation in my life. Abbie your podcast has been a blessing!! And I’ve been sharing it with so many of my friends who also are excited about it. Love in Christ, Brittney

8. So much wisdom! - I already had copies of Abbie’s book and I plan to gift it to every new mom I can! But I find I can never get enough of what Abbie has to share. This podcast allows her to go into more detail on the topics that people ask about every week on Whattaya Wanna Know Wednesday, and it’s even more fun hearing her explain her answers because she’s so dang funny and quick witted too. I also appreciate that each episode is like a well written essay, following a comprehensible structure that my mom brain can totally follow along with. I’ll be listening to every episode and even repeating ones when I need the encouragement and reminders. Thank you for continuing to speak life over mamas!

1. hours of labor - This pod helped so much! - This podcast and Liesel’s natural childbirth course gave me so much knowledge and peace of mind preparing for birth. My labor lasted hours ( hours of which were unmedicated before deciding to get an epidural). I ended up needing a c section, but I felt so confident and at peace making that decision because of all the knowledge I’d gained and stories I had heard from this podcast! Even though my birth wasn’t what I’d hoped for, it was not traumatic at all and truly an empowering experience that taught me so much about my own strength and endurance. Thanks Liesel!

2. Very thankful for this podcast - Mommy Labor Nurse was such a helpful resource when I was pregnant. Liesel was practical and kind, while offering a balanced perspective on birth. I especially appreciated how she didn’t make one method of labor seem “better” than another—something I needed as I wrestled with what kind of birth I wanted. Finally, the birth stories were really helpful in helping me be mentally prepared for labor so that when that time came, I was ready to face it.

3. So helpful! - This podcast helped me so much throughout my first pregnancy and then through labor & delivery! As a first time mom I didn’t know much about the whole process or what my options were when it came down to baby time but between the podcast & Liesel’s birth it up class I felt so much more comfortable when it came time to have my girl.
2023-01-28
4. Obsessed! Feels like a BFF - This podcast is so great! Liesel has such a welcoming, calm, tone and goes over anything and everything with such simplicity but plenty of detail. I also love the guests that come on the podcast and the way the conversations flow. I am expecting my second babe but I also love all things baby, L&D, postpartum, all of it and you definitely get it all here! Highly recommend following the Instagram page too and taking the courses if you’re expecting. It’s like having a BFF guide you through it all!!

5. Great for already had a baby mamas - I found this podcast after I gave birth to my son. I wish I had found it when I was pregnant but I still wanted to listen as I had questions about things that happened during my labor and delivery. I even took a birth class before having my son and I’ve learned more about what happened in my delivery and what to prepare for next time through this podcast than that class!!

6. Love every episode!!! - I listened to this podcast daily while pregnant with my first to hear positive stories and to learn as much as I could about the birthing process and what to expect as a new mom! One of my favorite episodes was about how to introduce your dog to your new baby. Every episode I learn something new. My son is now months old and I am still learning and loving your podcast! Thank you!!!

7. So informative! - Pregnant with my nd baby and after a traumatic birth for my first, I wanted to change the narrative for my nd! So of course, the moment I found out I was pregnant I scoured for any and every podcast I could find with birth stories and birth education. HANDS DOWN my favorite birth prep education & birth story podcast of all I have listened to (which is a lot). Thank you MLN for sharing your knowledge and resources with us!

8. Best podcast - Love this podcast! I’m from Brazil, and leaving in US for a while and being pregnant in other country it is very challenging, since we don’t know anything about the protocols and guidelines. I’m a biomedical scientist and I work with research, so I feel very grateful for having this kind of podcast, that shares real medical information. Everything I heard so far, it is based on true research and facts.

1. So happy I found this! - I’m an expectant mama awaiting my firstborn. In searching for voices talking about faith-filled parenting I stumbled on this show today. The episode on praying for our kids struck me and I feel that discovering this show is a God whisper. Very much needed in the midst of a noisy culture spreading negativity about marriage, parenting and raising children. Thank you for spreading uplifting messages and content!

2. Encouraging and Uplifting - I stumbled upon this podcast and it has blessed me so much every week! Being a mom is hard but it is also such a wonderful season of life to be in. Jenna has helped me to focus on Christ and find joy during this journey, even on the hard days! Thank you so much Jenna for praying for us every week!

3. Feeling fed after listening - I found this podcast searching for Christian mommas. The way I feel after listening to her podcast is such an amazing feeling. I feel like it’s what I need to hear in this season of my life. I listed to the one with Amy about being starved. The past that got me was when she said her son was diagnosed with Crohn’s. I was recently diagnosed as well and it’s so overwhelming. The podcast made me think to stop and step back. Breathe. Take time for me. Thank you for this podcast and being here for me.

4. An absolutely gem! - I am SO grateful that I found this podcast! The content is absolutely amazing for my soul daily. I’m about episodes in & I couldn’t be more sure that God led me to this - a woman in the same phase of life as me, around the same age, raising babies, finding a deeper/renewed relationship with God, etc. I do work part-time, but am home a lot & the lessons and advice on this podcast are relatable, fitting, & realistic. Thank you for the prayers at the end as well - the feeling of praying with other women is unmatched. Thank you!!

5. Love this podcast! - The Joy Filled podcast came to me right when I needed it! Thank you Jesus! It has helped me so much already in my motherhood. I love how real to life it is. 6. My favorite podcast - I started listening to this after I’d been a stay at home mom for awhile and needed some encouragement. I was feeling discouraged, questioning my value and self-worth after leaving a challenging and rewarding job to be home with my kids. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be home with my kids but Jenna’s podcast really helped me see my value as a stay at home mom and spiritual leader of my home. I look forward to her weekly talks and I’m always able to relate to them and usually have some tears in my eyes after because they help me so much. Love this podcast! Jenna, thank you for making me feel less alone and like I’m just listening to a friend!

7. Grateful God led me here!! - Just what I need for a momma boost. Love how Jenna addresses it ALL — by validating the hard parts of motherhood and life while staying positive, realistic, and joyful! Also it doesn’t feel preachy yet she is humble and meets us all where we are. We’re in this together kinda vibes! Love it! Also the latest “deleting social media episode” spoke to my soul. God did the exact same thing in my life in early December by clearly telling me to delete an instagram page I have for my health business/podcast …and it was great to hear that I’m not alone in this and reminded that God has more for me than to be a slave to social media. He is bigger than what insta can offer and it’s possible to still have a business and not be on instagram etc. Feels radical but so is the Christian life! —Podcasts and communities like this help! Thanks Jenna!

8. Gratitude - One, the sound of her voice is calming, soothing and uplifting in such a gentle way. I don’t mind drinking my coffee being cold, knowing that I'm sharing this cups with a community of other moms who are also sipping on room temp caffeine. I just recently started listening after a church service, about asking God “To fill up my cup”. This podcast did in fact help to fill my cup with a positive Christian message. I Pray this podcasts find another mom who is in need of some joy!

1. Love this and live by it! - I’ve been listening to this podcast and a proud member of the Dads Edge Alliance and a call team leader for about years. The guest on this show are all stellar. The Thursday throw down with Uncle Joe and the men from the Alliance make it all so fricking real and relevant. I’m blessed to be a part of this community and it all started with this podcast. There are no coincidences in life. In a rough spot this podcast was recommended to me. Then I found the Alliance! Everything started to change! Thank you Larry Hagner! You’re changing lives. Keep it up! - Wiley

The podcast will set the tone giving you valuable tools and information for your level up in the world of manhood, fatherhood, being a husband and leader. Once the path is laid out then as I warned you, it’s a full steam ahead train to a new level where you will experience success, and welcome pain! All of which will make you a more capable, confident, and a stronger version of yourself, and for me it started here so enjoy and buckle up.

3. Amazing Content and Life Changing - I discovered this podcast at a point in my life when I needed a strong group of like minded men. This podcast led to the Alliance and they have changed my world for the better, the best actually. The guests that Larry brings on always deliver incredible content. The Q&A opens up the men to the men and allows us the chance to offer real world experiences.

4. Finding a Purpose - If you are a Dad looking to find a reason, purpose, a connection or a way to be a better person this is the place to do that. The content covers topics we encounter in our lives every day. The value and detail in the podcasts goes beyond normal thinking or ideas with a true intent to learn and grow as a person. The podcast is a game changer if you are wanting to grow as a Dad.

5. Intentional living through the experience and wisdom of dads and others - The Dad Edge is something I didn't know I'd been looking for... for years! After the birth of our first daughter, I began looking for any help I could get because I felt very underprepared to tackle this new chapter in life. Little did I know I would find such a gem podcast in terms of practical knowledge, but also a group of men that are living life on purpose to the fullest. I regularly share this with fellow men in my life (not just dads) as the energy and tactics fleshed out and brought to life by Larry through his guests are inspiring and thought-provoking. I joined the Dad Edge Alliance earlier this year because I just couldn't get enough of the amplifying the pillars this group of men stand behind. Let's change the game, men!

6. GameChanger for men - I’ve been listening to the podcast for a few years now and it’s far over due that I recommend this to all men who are in need of help about being a man. We don't have it together but we might have one thing together and with this podcast we get to lean in on each other where we may be weak in an area and another dude is strong. Growing up without the healthiest relationship with my father I had no idea there was better ways to be a man. As a father and husband now this podcast has been a GameChanger for me. I’ve got a lot of work to do but I’m just grateful that a resource like this exists.

8. More than just a podcast - I found the Dad Edge movement through a friend, and let me tell you, Larry has created so much more than a podcast. This is truly a community for dads. A place where men are able to talk about the challenges, the issues and the rewards of being a father, a husband and a leader! Love the show, and more importantly- glad to be a part of the team.

1. Thank you!! - Sarah and crew. Y’all have changed my life- and my family’s life. We have completely fallen in love with reading quality, transformative, beautiful books. We have indeed begun to make meaningful relationships with one another… You’ve brought so much joy and connection into our home. I even love homeschooling and parenting more than ever. I can’t thank y’all enough for giving of yourselves!!!!

2. I miss the old days… :( - This podcast is the reason I even got started with podcasts...hearing Sarah talk about reading with my children was like sitting across the table with a mentor-friend and a good cup of tea, getting inspired to do what I was made to do. Now, like most everything that used to feel so supportive and generous, it’s another thing you have to “join.” The podcast is just one big advertisement for a paid membership group. Go back to the old shows for the treasures or skip the podcast and just dive into the group I guess!
2022-12-28
3. Disappointing - I’ve only listened to a couple of episodes, so I don’t know if Sarah ever has guests to chat with, but so far, nada. I’ve read a couple of her books and they were fine, but her podcast voice is the same as her narrator voice, which does not sound like a genuine speaking voice. The podcast is basically a long form add for her premium paid service and I’m just not into that. If your podcast content isn’t solid and interesting, there’s nothing that draws me into the paid service. Her books came so highly recommended to me that I expected much more in terms of depth and resources and guests (!) on the podcast.

4. Not what I expected - I really like Sarah McKenzie and her book Teaching from Rest, so I decided to binge this podcast. I really like the first couple seasons, but over time there were more and more suggestions that focus a lot on “justice” and other left-ish buzz words. Not really what I’m looking for. I was hoping for more tips and philosophy about why and how to read aloud. I really love hearing the episodes with her daughter about how homeschooling was successful.
Not a bad podcast, but not what I expected.

5. Hope for the tired Homeschool Mom - Let me start by saying I don’t really like podcasts. I find them more noisy for my brain than I’d prefer on a weekly/daily basis. BUT I always come back to this podcast when I’m needing encouragement, ideas, inspiration or just commiseration. I cry a little, smile and laugh a lot. Sarah Mack, your my favorite.

6. Wow!!! - Thank you so much; I have been listening to your podcast for years. I was so honored to have you answer my question today. I cannot wait to share it with my high schooler. And what a thought provoking question for him and me. What is the goal. My goal is less screen and more read. My family had been so blessed by you and your team. Thank you! And love that you mentioned redeemed reader. We use that resource too!

7. Ultimate reading coach! - This podcast has SUCH great tips for reading with kids and how to choose great books for your family. I homeschooled my three kids for one year and we got many wonderful books with our homeschool package, but I always supplemented with the books that Sarah recommended on her podcast. And I have never been let down! Now my kids are back at public school but I still listen to the podcast for tips on new books that have been released, how to help struggling readers, how to find age-appropriate books, how to read wordless books, you name it! This is an excellent, excellent podcast. (It’s like having your own personal librarian recommend books for your child - but this librarian is really sweet and loves Jesus and is always positive!)

8. Always Encouraging - We are a homeschool family, and I just get so jazzed up and refilled by listening to this podcast! It’s like my “mom time” when I can’t actually get away for mom time. It has helped me refine the idea and goals for my family culture. Parenting, teaching, reading aloud, this podcast is wonderful for them all! I have relistened multiple times, and will continue to do so. I do hope that Sarah continues to be the sole hostess however, I’m not a fan of multiple commentators as a regular format.

1. The best! - Pregnant with my first and this has been my number one resource because it's interesting, easy to listen to, and hearing so many stories and points of view helped me to prepare for all the crazy scenarios that can arise in birth. If I heard a term or concept I was unfamiliar with I'd do my own research, but just the exposure really helped me learn about things I might not have thought to look into. It also has really good trigger warnings, something I struggled with in other resources. Over all I've listened to over a hundred episodes while on walks or cleaning my house and it's the best!
2023-02-10
2. Amazing podcast! - I love this podcast! It’s super informative to learn about birth through hearing women’s stories. It also feels way more personal and engaging then just reading generic information about birth. I also love how it is structured as a personal narrative :) Love that they recently added more inclusive language in the intro and am so happy Bryn is vocal about reproductive justice
2023-02-04
3. Lackluster - I love birth stories, but this doesn’t really feel like an “interview” podcast because the host hardly responds to the women sharing their stories, no matter what details they’re giving. This also leads to blatant misinformation being parroted without any recourse. Anyone listening to this without the education to know better could be getting frankly dangerous ideas from what is shared without any type of response or clarification. It also gets more and more politicized as the episodes go on. I’m not interested in being called “a birthing person.” I am a mother.
2022-11-07
4. Absolutely love this podcast - I really can’t get enough of this podcast. I’ve learned so much from all of the stories shared here, and I really feel like I’ll be going into my own birth armed with so much wisdom! I love that I get to hear from people of all sorts of backgrounds, including those very different from my own. I don’t know what other reviewers are talking about with the show being “biased”… I feel like I hear so many different viewpoints! I also don’t mind Bryn’s “hands off” approach - she actually explained at sone point that she intentionally takes a back seat to allow people to tell their story in their own way.
2022-11-01
5. Could use some more direction/disclaimers - I really enjoy this podcast however recently I’ve noticed some stories that caused me alarm with the stories told with mothers blatantly lying to providers or sharing misinformation without any intervention or disclosing at the beginning that these practices could be dangerous.
2022-10-31
6. Used to love this podcast - I used to love this podcast because I learned so much. I also just love listening to anyone’s birth story. However, it’s clear that Brynn is pretty much just focused on pushing her political/moral agendas. For a while now, she has only been interviewing moms who promote her woke opinions (racial division, abortion, etc.) I don’t mind hearing from different points of view but I greatly dislike it when every interview is coming from the same world view (which is pretty radical.) Feels like gaslighting…
2022-10-27
7. My comfort show - Brynn, I began listening to your podcast years ago with my first pregnancy and I’m still here loving it in . Never change your intro either. Your voice, the music, and the stories from this podcast bring me so much peace and joy and always puts me in a happy place during my pre and post natal seasons. Thank you :)
2022-10-21
8. Some helpful stories but mostly normalizing trauma and abuse - I can’t recommend this to clients or mothers looking to learn more about birth. Yes, the format of the show is to allow women to share their stories from their perspective. However, the host doesn’t intervene or ask many questions and this causes a lot of inaccuracies or fears to be shared without clarification. So many stories straight up normalize abuse. Many pass along terrible recommendations and promulgate common scare tactics or blatantly inaccurate info about “big babies”, nuchal cords, advanced maternal age, breech birth, infertility, and without accurate information to counter them. It also gets awkward when a guest shares something incredibly traumatic or even very funny and there is no response from the host, just silence. The recent change in language also feels demeaning and dehumanizing. Overall, some helpful and empowering stories but the amount of misinformation and fear outweigh the benefit.

Comments
1. Hideously religious - Definitely thought this was a moms helping moms platform so imagine my surprise when I drifted off to sleep listening and woke to hear a lengthy conversation on sin, Jesus, and salvation. The description of this podcast should include a Christian label. Or a fish symbol on the image. Let people know what they’re getting into!
2022-12-11
2. A must listen! - Heather’s podcast is such a great resource for parents (my husband listens too!) and your interviews are always timely and worth a listen. I am so grateful you raise the hard issues and encourage us to arm and equip our kids against things like pornography and develop meaningful conversations! Keep it up!
2022-10-10
3. Thank you for connecting us on scary topics ! - So glad I found your podcast this week and that it is a Christian faith based viewpoint on current issues without being preachy, or political or sensational. Your episode in parenting a tween, and Gender identity and dysphoria episodes were great resources. Thank you also for praying for us at the end.
2022-10-04
4. Good but the gospel is too watered down - I listened to Heather’s podcast for a solid months and loved so many episodes. Sadly, when she covers the controversial topics that us young moms need help on how to deal with it from a biblical perspective she is way too much on the worldview side. I am all for giving grace to people but God calls us to LOVE and love speaks the truth. Love isn’t always easy, but it’s what we need to show towards those who are struggling.
2022-09-02
5. True Humility - I have been listening to this podcast since our first baby was born in . Heather’s show has walked me through seasons of moving, having babies, losing babies, changing careers and walking through many highs and lows. Her humility is a beautiful picture of Christ. She always seeks to honor those around her, and brings such wisdom to the show. She is the ultimate picture of “being quick to listen” and considering others more important than yourself. This show has always been a place where I trust to find truth! This podcast has raised me alongside my kids. I am so thankful!! Please listen to the audio-gold that is this podcast!!!

6. Encouragement for Moms - I had my second baby during Covid. I was feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and dealing with PPD. I came across Don’t Mom Alone and began listening to them while up during the night with my baby. It helped me so much and I felt a bit less alone hearing other moms dealing with similar issues to me. The episodes I’ve listened to are all full of experienced motherly wisdom, but also Biblical encouragement.
2022-07-09
7. It’s Real, It’s Genuine, and It’s So Helpful - Heather, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve recommended your podcast and specific episodes, to my friends. Your humble heart, eagerness to learn from other image bearers who may think differently or believe differently than you do is refreshing. I’m challenged by that. I know you can’t just “shake off” hurtful words bc words matter. I hope THESE words are an encouragement and help to drown out the hurtful ones. And thanks for being vulnerable enough to ask for your community to rally around you when things are really hard. Keep up the good, hard work! You rock.
2022-07-06
8. Practical, wise, and God-centered! - Heather consistently provides listeners with practical information and wisdom, with honesty and humor. She encourages us, acknowledges the struggles of motherhood, and reminds us what God says is true about us and how we labor for our families each day. It is like listening to a good friend - she is so in touch with what others are experiencing and so relatable! Keep it up, Heather!

1. Not evidence based. - This podcast and organization is called EVIDENCE based birth. I was very excited to learn from this podcast until I saw that they have doctors with pronouns and topics like “the importance to amplify the need to create safe perinatal spaces for queer, trans, and BIPOC birthing bodies. Content warning: We mention transphobia, misgendering, deadnaming, racism, police violence, and birth trauma.” This has to be a JOKE because all evidence and science says WOMEN give birth and there are only two genders. This propaganda is NOT evidence based.

2. Knowledge is power - My doula recommended this podcast to me during my third trimester. I found it incredibly helpful and informative. I felt empowered to make decisions that were evidence based. I just gave birth to my second child by VBAC. I was able to use the evidence from this podcast for less interventions. Thank you!

3. “Evidence” - Finally unsubscribed after cringing through a few episodes that sounded like something out of an SNL skit. From their CDC parroting in to dehumanizing language, EBB has become a shadow of its original purpose, no longer concerned with real unbiased evidence, empowering women, quality research, or even basic biology. The outright spin on the abortion episode is embarrassing. The vast research on the history in our country amounted to...one book. No mention of the readily available fact that Margaret Sanger, foundress of Planned Parenthood and number one abortion provider in our country, was LITERALLY a white supremacist. Her stated mission was to exterminate black people. How is that not relevant to EBB’s purported concerns over racism in our country? No mention of the amount of abortions done to eliminate people with disabilities, the lifelong risks of abortion to women, that it enables rapists, traffickers, and abusers, or that it could be deemed the most unnecessary and dangerous birth intervention of all. EBB, you used to be an incredible and trustworthy resource. I’m so grateful for the valuable work you did in the past. Please return to that original mission or you will be harming more than you ever helped.

4. Excellent information for birthing families and birth workers - As a doula for over a decade, I’ve been a fan of Evidence Based Birth from the start. The choice of topics, information, and guests on the EBB podcast are always interesting and even as an experienced birth worker I’m always learning something new. The number of reviewers who are triggered by inclusive language and anti-racism work blows my mind. I live by “when you know better, you do better” and appreciate that EBB has evolved to support and center voices and leaders from diverse and underrepresented groups. Keep up the important and great work that you do, Rebecca!

5. Amazing resource to be an informed patient - As an expecting parent, I’ve been devouring these podcasts. It’s to important to be an informed patient, however, that’s easier said than done. This podcast makes it easy by giving you great evidence-based information in an unbiased way. It’s illuminated so many topics and questions that I now know to ask my provider about. I also appreciate the inclusive terminology.

6. Wish it didn’t take such a turn…. Old episodes are great. - This podcast helped me so much in the past pregnancy with knowing how to advocate for myself, and using evidence-based information to discuss my wishes with my doctor. The host is so well informed and great at presenting information in a understandable and digestible way. Unfortunately, this podcast has completely dove into the extreme left wing ideology. I wish a podcast that claims to be evidence based would get back to discussing the evidence. PS, “Birthing people” are women.
2022-12-07
7. Women have babies - I’m very progressive supportive of the queer community. I can’t understand the aversion to the word woman. Having a baby is the most womanly thing imaginable. Im sure there are way more women bothered by this language than there are gender queer people who’d be offended by being called a woman while having a baby..
2022-11-30
8. Evidence based episodes inconsistent - Her series on protecting the perineum, birthing positions and many others were well researched and evidence based. I found them immensely helpful. The host clearly has a passion for advocacy in the birthing sphere however I find her episodes on the more social aspects of birth very full of “lived experience” stories and not evidence based fact. This reduces the reliability of those episodes to more or a “mommy blog” then an evidence based look at a topic. Be aware as a listener you can’t take off your critical thinking cap and trust that all episodes are evidence based and unbiased.

1. Love this! - I’m so happy to have found this podcast! I wish I had a tribe of mom’s of color near me. These ladies fill that void. I love the different perspectives that everyone has. Please take more turns sharing, or make the podcast longer. I’ve gotten to know Ashley a lot, but I’d like to hear from some of the others too!

3. NEEDED THIS - This podcast is EVERYTHING, once I found it I couldn’t stop listening. I shared it with SOME of my mom friends and even bugged them about starting it because I’m like every mother of color NEEDS this podcast in her life. There are so many mom podcasts but this one is for the culture & that definitely comes through while you listen! Each mom gives a different perspective on their journey through motherhood, it’s relatable, & I literally am obsessed!! Thank you for creating this space ladies!

4. Great show! - I love listening to this show and gleaning the information shared. If I may provide constructive criticism, with the items that are shared (books, games, documentaries, etc.) can those be shared in the show notes? It helps if I’m driving or otherwise engaged and can’t take notes in the moment it’s shared. Thank you!

5. % recommend!!! - This podcast is hands down one of the most relatable, down to earth, “I feel like I’m listening to my homegirls” feeling podcasts that I have come across to date! You all have taught me so much from listening to all of your experiences with motherhood & life in general but also allowed me to reflect on myself which I love! I am not a mother biologically as I anatomically cannot bare children, but I am & have been a very present “Auntie” & God-mother for years so I have my fair share of teachable moments, “mama bear moments” and I care for them deeply as my own. Ladies, I thank you all for joining forces & being transparent, shining light on so many who have struggled, are currently struggling & for your openness because this is all hard to come by. /! Much love to you all & your families. Leah

6. Brings me joy - I never write reviews ever about anything ,food , items, nothing but I knew I had to take the time to write a review for this podcast because I noticed myself waiting every Monday for a new podcast and being so joyful and the joy brings me just sitting alone and listening to the relatability that I get from it and just knowing that I’m not alone and I’m not going through these things alone and I can find my way out the situations that I hear every episode speaks to my heart.

7. Episode - I love this podcast. Episode REALLY spoke to me. Especially the topic about death, I notice myself having anxiety about death. And then my son will say the same things, and ask questions, and say that he wants to go to heaven, and it scares me—but listening to you ladies break it down, and what it actually means has made me feel so much better. This podcast is like a therapy session for me. Thank you so much for creating this, us mamas out here needed it.

8. Great podcast! - I love absolutely everything about this podcast. The different perspectives of these talented, wise, creative, successful and in-tune black women is absolutely EVERYTHING. I’ve been married for years and wish something was out like this when I was a newly wed, but so grateful we are in a space now where this is becoming the norm. Ladies you are doing an amazing job. My only request is perhaps having special guests who have been married longer, with older kids and beginning to juggle empty nest combined with having to care for older parents.
