1. Wonderful comfort show - The movie that means so much to me is Adventures in Babysitting. When I was , an aunt took me to the movies to see Annie. After that, I didn’t set foot in a movie theater for five years as our family was really struggling to make ends meet. Then things got a little better. One night my mom was doing sometimes with friends and my dad announced to my brother and me, “let’s go to the movies.” We were confused but so excited, and we went to see Adventures in Babysitting which I loved (though who knows if it was just the experience). We really became a big movies family after that (video and theater), but I’ll never forget that first time.

2. Over Prepared - I spend my time listening to the podcast over, preparing for my answers for the day that I get invited on the podcast. I’m not a comedian or an actor or anyone of note so that’s not going to happen. But, should the need arise, I’m ready to tell Brett how much I love Pootie Tang. Chris Rock dressed as corn? Sign me up. Also very proud the Brett is a member of the tribe.

3. The movie with the greatest experience - My movie that means the most to be because of the experience is The Force Awakens. This was the first “grown-up” movie I took my son to. He was years old at the time, and he was so excited! It was also the first time I saw Star Wars in the theater. We both were practically shaking when the title crawl started… and I got a little emotional when Han and Chewy boarded the Falcon!

4. Incredible Podcast - Brett Goldstein is smart, kind, thoughtful, and curious. His film background and gift for asking insightful questions make every guest shine. It has made me reevaluate movies in my life and what they mean to me. I have used his questions to learn more about the people in my life! The film that I most relate to is Addams Family Values. I love Wednesday and feel her stuggle finding her voice in a world that does not understand her. This podcast is everything.

5. My films - First - the podcast is a complete treat - thank you for continuing to do it! First film ever - I believe it was Babes in Toyland and my memories are generally creepy though I wasn’t sure why. I have this sing-song voice doing the theme song in my head and it’s just weird. Your podcast made me go find this and watch it again and now I know why. That is one messed up movie. Kidnappings and forced marriages and evil trees and mad scientists that are apparently making all of our toys and in the end we shrink and kill the bad guy with automaton toy soldiers. Mercy. The film that means the most to me is Chariots of Fire. It’s not that it’s a great movie (though it’s pretty good for lots of reasons) but for whatever reason my Dad and I have a joke about the other one never having seen it, so whenever it appears in whatever context we say to the other “did you ever see that?”. The film I most relate to is The Intern with Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway. As a female CEO of a not-that-big-but-often-overwhelming company, I am pretty much her character. The film I’ve watched the most is the original Star Wars because my little brother and I watched it obsessively for years as kids. Once you commit at that level it’s hard to top it, no matter how often The Hunt for Red October comes on TV (though The Martian is getting up there). The Princess Bride is obviously wonderful no matter how many times you watch it, but the numbers for me currently belong to Star Wars Episode IV. Keep up the fantastic work here and on Ted Lasso (Roy was my favorite character from day one) and all of the other places you are contributing to the world. Many thanks.

6. Tick Tick Boom - “Are you being led by fear or love?” This film inspired me to really go for it and take on the artistic work that I’ve always dreamed of doing. Since watching it, I’ve taken acting classes, and acted in commercials, short films, streaming show as background, and have written my own short film! Watch it on Netflix to be inspired!

7. Do you have soul? That all depends. - My favorite movie is High Fidelity. My favorite movie podcast that’s secretly actually about so much more than movies is Films To Be Buried With. Brilliant podcast concept. There are a lot of highlights, but some of my faves include: Nish saying how crazy it would be if one of them were in a Marvel post-credit sequence (mere weeks before Brett was in a Marvel post credit sequence), Roisin Conaty’s childhood story about sneaking out to a late movie, Jamie Demetriou’s dad watching Murder on the Orient Express, and Aisling Bea’s whole thing.

8. I’ve never been a fan of comedians… - …due to some uncomfortable situations in a standup setting where the body types and sexual orientations of everyone in our party were being used as hurtful comedic material. This show is slowly making me trust the art form again. Comedy doesn’t have to just be used to attack, it can be a unifying and joyous experience. I also listen every week hoping someone out there mentions, They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? I know it will never come up but I think it’s a brilliant film and I wish more people would see it.
Depressing art cheers me up. I can’t be the only one, can I?

9. a gem - i love this podcast so much- it quite literally got me through the darkest part of the pandemic (i am a doctor who works in a hospital, so its been a rough few years). I’ve watched so many films thanks to this podcast and have also now found so many amazing comedians. the episodes with romesh ranganathan are my comfort listens - no matter how many times i hear these eps I’m literally always laughing out loud. In fact thanks to this podcast we are going to New York in January to see Romesh’s show! thanks brett for this thoughtful moving podcast, a real love letter to films and film fans.

10. Please have on Joanna Robinson - Loving the show. Please invite @jowrotethis. She has brilliant podcast coverage of Andor, Game of Thrones and more, and clearly knows her literature and film as well. Movie I’ve watched the most: (besides Home Alone and Christmas Story) “Heathers” Best action: “Matrix” Scared me the most as a kid: “Killer Clowns from Outer Space” Worst movie: “Waterworld” Best movie: “Do the Right Thing” Movie that made me cry: “Pan’s Labrinyth” Movie that and me laugh: “Idiocracy” Sexiest movie: “Drive” or “Mississippi Masala” Romantic movie: kind of “Up” Movie night in heaven: is “Defending Your Life” too on the nose?!

11. Super fun convos! - I sort of binged this (have listened to about half of all eps) this past month as I sought an escape from the political horrors of election season in the US. Brett and his guests are so much fun to listen to and it has all felt like a fun chat at a party (more fun actually bc I can hear everyone and everyone speaks respectfully and no one is drunk As far as I can tell!). Thought I’d share my answers to Brett’s questions for his entertainment:
First film I remember seeing: either Sound of Music or The Rescuers
Scariest: The Others
Most laughs: A Fish Called Wanda
Most tears: Toy Story and
Sexiest: The Lover
Troubling Boner: Shades of Gray movies
Seen the most: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (and both seasons of Ted Lasso which I know isn’t a film but it’s been playing constantly in my house bc it’s an election year!)
Greatest: Up or Ratatouille
Underrated: Spanglish
Means the most: Cinema Paradiso Thanks Brett and looking forward to more episodes!

1. Woooow - Wooooow jinx, I knew the universe had a message… but you really confirmed it for me. I always had a sneaking suspicion that hard work is what made things special, but the way you explained it to me today really convinced me that i was on the right track!!! Thank you for the inspiration Xoxo nicky @werkhunty
2023-02-20
2. Please listen to the reviews Jinx! - Please let your guests speak! I love you Jinx , and I love your guests as well but they cannot get a single word in without you interjecting so much. Like others have stated, it’s not a conversation it’s a Jinx monologue and hey I would love a Jinx monologue- but it’s different when you can hear the frustration in the guests voices
2022-11-30
3. Love Jinxx but let guests talk! - I really love Jinxx and like the podcast. However, as the podcast has gone on I’ve noticed that Jinxx has a really hard time letting the guests actually talk. Often it feels like the guest are brought on to let Jinxx unpack the same stories of her childhood trauma over and over. Stop interrupting when they speak (although this seems a consistent theme across all the MOM shows)
2022-09-21
4. Not what I expected - I absolutely love Ms Monsoon and really enjoy her other podcast. This podcast unfortunately doesn’t give us anything new or uniquely Jinkx. It’s just celebrity interviews talking about the standard road to fame and other industry stuff. I’d love to see some other types of episodes or segments mixed in that give us more of Jinkx.
2022-07-22
5. this is a complisult - I love you jinx but you have the tendency to take over the episode and not interview— just talk and have the other person listen to you. I mean, it is your show so you can do whatever you want, but if you are interviewing a guest on your show it would be nice to actually hear from them —just a wish from a weekly listener. It doesn’t happen all the time — and story telling is great. But, when I’m listening, it sometimes feels like the guest is just there listening to you instead of it being an actual conversation.

6. The Veteran Dave episode warmed my heart - Thanks to both of you for this episode!
So wonderful to here Dave’s take on everything and Jinx’s appreciation for him, and thank you Dave for your service in the military and the LGBTQIA movement/ world I wish I was this strong! This was truly an education;) and I feel like a better queer person for listening to this, I laughed, I cried I was joyous… THANK YOU!
2022-06-08
7. Both a blessing and a squeal! - Living for how much I’m loving this. First time first time and I’m midway through binging
All the episodes (except the minute ones/teasers. What can I say, it’s darling, inspiring, and bridging the gap between humans and the robotic-Intellect running the simulation. As a human, I enjoy it greatly. As a woodland-forest witch, I enjoy simmering in the information and the joys and laughter. Blessings

8. I mean… it’s Jinkx. What else do you want? - Jinkx is an amazing and entertaining host. She has had excellent guests so far and does a really great job in terms of interviewing them. I like how this podcast keeps me laughing but can also touch on more serious topics. My favorite guest so far was Harvey Fierstein!
2022-03-02
9. You are A Marvel - Just wanted to say you seem to approach life in a very anthropological and humanistic way. And PLEASE KEEP DOING “I’m % podcast”. Sometimes, when I hear you speak Jinkx, it’s like I relive my childhood, and appreciate the Nicks around me. Love- Isai (pronounced E—sah-E) accent on the last E

10. Just a Natural! - Jinxk Monsoon has a way to make their guest feel immediately welcomed. They have a natural interview talent. I know many of these people are your sisters, so there may be an understanding, but it doesn’t matter. I feel like I’m eavesdropping on a fun, touching, irreverent Kiki and learning every time. I don’t know how many times typing away at my computer my reaction to something said is : “Mmm. Feels Right.” I look forward to the time I send with Jinxk and illustrious guest.
2021-08-02
11. Give Jinkx a Raise! - I’ve been listening to podcasts for around a decade and rarely write reviews but I find Jinkx’s kind, caring, inquisitive yet frankly progressive way of interviewing so enjoyable and refreshing I find it necessary to write chime in and also highly suggest that the brass at FOREVER DOG ensure she is handsomely compensated so as to retain her services

1. Excellent - Fascinating and professional. Great programs.
BIG PROBLEM I’ve had to stop listening because of the music. It’s so wrong. You’ll be telling a sad story, a death, snd there’s an upbeat silly song on the background. It doesn’t go with the topic. Please don’t do that. It’s cringe. Everything else is great but I have tuned out.
2022-11-02
2. Excellent podcast - I decided to listen because this was one of the top podcasts. I was surprised to see the low rating as I really enjoyed this podcast. It seems the low ratings are from easily offended people who consider any differing opinion just a side effect of “woke-ness.” sigh I found this to be an excellent podcast.
2022-07-22
3. Love How The Pod Has Aged - I’ve been listening to this pod since the beginning and I love how the format has changed. The current rendition is much more favorable than when the podcast was first released and l love it. I love this pod so much that I literally no longer even watch Netflix docs. I listen to the pod and I find that satisfying enough with no urge to even watch the shows. Keep it up!
2022-05-27
4. Tiger King - Softball questions with no follow-up for Tiger King makers to fluff their feathers rather than give substantive insights that people are really interested in. Real documentary filmmakers want to educate and make an impact - Goode and Chaiklin are reality show peddlers who obviously don't care about helping to end the exotic pet trade or they would join us in lobbying for the Big Cat Public Safety Act and would never drive a false narrative that helps prop up Joe Exotic as a folk hero. It says a lot that Goode and Chaiklin apparently won't do any media interviews except for this Netflix podcast. What substantive questions are they afraid of having to answer?
2022-02-21
5. Love it! - I love Netflix’s doc series and of course I adore anything Rebecca Lavoie does, so this is a win win. The conversations are engaging, pulling the curtain so we can see what really happened in some of these docs. Rebecca’s energy is so approachable and engaging, so all of the interviews feel like an enjoyable conversation between creatives.
2021-12-15
6. Disconcerting speaking style - I love the premise and content, but the host has a speaking style that is disconcertingly chirpy and cheerful, often at odds with the content being discussed. She speaks as if presenting an infomercial. I wish she would talk more normally I would give this podcast five stars.
2021-10-19
7. Britney v Spears - Fantastic documentary and this is a fascinating interview. Rebecca always asks all the questions I want to ask, and many many more. I feel like listening to her interviews has made me more inquisitive overall. I am in agreement with the documentarian, this is the type of film that exposes the underbelly of a case with a victim in plain sight to the world. EVERYONE should be questioning how forced conservatorships are happening to all kinds of people. I appreciate her passion, her film and this interview has struck a real chord with me. Rebecca, keep up the fantastic work.
2021-10-14
8. Quality Interviews - Rebecca Lavoie is one of the best interviewers out there. Hands down. The initial breakdown and diagnosis with Kevin Flynn is just gravy. When she interviews the directors it really gets into so much about what you want to know about all of these episodes. Sometimes i listen first to set the stage and sometimes again afterwards. I really liked the “Lady of the Lake”episode.
2020-11-19
9. Great Interview! - I’m a long time fan of Rebecca Lavoi from Crime Writers On and only recently discovered You Can’t Make This Up. It’s so satisfying to listen as a follow up to shows on Netflix! Rebecca does a great job asking her insightful questions. I’m not such a creative thinker and appreciate the deeper dive. I highly recommend this podcast, especially for the new Unsolved Mysteries episodes.
2020-10-28
10. Insider Info - I’m a big fan of this podcast, and especially episodes hosted by Rebecca Lavoie. She’s great at asking the questions that we as listeners have. Whether you liked the documentary discussed or not, it’s always interesting to hear the makers discuss the behind the scenes take on the subject.
2020-10-28
11. Found this after recent Unsolved Mysteries - After binge watching all of the first release of Unsolved Mysteries, I was looking for a podcast for further discussion and found this. I was excited to hear it was hosted by Rebecca Lavoie, who I’ve been listening to since when Serial happened. She is a great host, always produces a high quality product. I’ve learned a lot about her work since and I absolutely endorse anything that she is involved in.

'Awards Chatter' is a podcast that features in-depth interviews with the most interesting and accomplished people in show business. Created and hosted by: Scott Feinberg. Produced by: Matthew Whitehurst.

Comments
1. Scott does all the homework so we don’t have to - I have listened to every episode of this podcast! Scott Feinberg is an insightful and diligent interviewer. All the guests (except for one notable one) on this podcast feels engaged with Scott so every conversation is rewarding for the listeners. If I had a nickel every time a guest says “Scott, you really did your homework!” I would be able to afford eggs if you love movies and movie history, start listening!

2. This Is Not Journalism. It’s PR - You are a cog in the misogyny wheel in Hollywood. FYI: The Hollywood Reporter was the gossip rag of choice by Harvey Weinstein to dispute the fact that Weinstein was a rapist, and horrific monster to women. Then, listening to the awful statements made by Scott about how Harvey Weinstein treated HIM (during the Renée Zellweger interview). This is not a podcast: this is a public relations piece for every single Hollywood star Scott and his team can get their fingers on. Couple that with the fact that you have multiple pieces still listed with men accused of, and proven to have sexually harassed, assaulted & intimidated
women available (Weinstein, Woody Allen, Louis CK) demonstrates the lack of character that this podcast and its entire staff holds.
2022-12-10
3. Scott asks the questions I don’t even know I have - Scott is a great interview partner for the featured guests. He gives their answers room to breathe but drives the conversation forward at a great pace. I am able to better understand the art created by the guests because of his interviews. Highly recommend!
2022-12-08
4. Best Podcast EVER!!! - I started listening to Awards Chatter a few months ago. I started with episode and I’m now on episode . I just can’t get enough! Scott Feinberg is an amazing host and asks the sometimes hard questions with such respect and grace. There is a genuine love and respect for the entertainment industry and all of the players in it that really shines through. As an actor and podcast host myself, I really appreciate the conversations. They inspire me everyday to keep going! Thank you for this podcast. I LOVE IT!

5. Interesting guests with an annoying host - Sure, sure, the guests are acting icons and I’m interested in what they have to say but I find the host, Scott, more often than not annoying. First, the voice. Ugghhh! Second, he does this “mhmm.. mhmm… hmmmm” back to people like Gary Oldman or Robert DeNiro which is rather disrespectful and unprofessional.
2022-04-10
6. My favorite podcast! - Scott does a ton of research and asks good questions. It’s interesting to hear about artists’ backgrounds and what has influenced them through the years. I was more interested in the awards season because I had learned so much about the different films and creative people involved.
2022-03-29
7. Tone Deaf moment killed my interest - I used to absolutely love this podcast but Scott’s handling of bringing up Woody Allen was mortifying. Allen man is widely known and accused as being a rapist. Yet Scott chose to hype him up in his interview with Penelope Cruz and emphatically implied what an honor it is working for him. As a journalist, there is a way to phrase things and these handle things. He could’ve simply acknowledged the movie and Allen without any of the editorialism. Extremely insensitive to his victims. Has Scott and the Hollywood reporter not learned anything? This is very disturbing and disappointing.
2022-01-27
8. Gillian Anderson - Best interview I’ve heard in a long time! I’ve been a huge fan of her for years and you asked so many questions I wanted the answers to! Talk shows always are too quick, and usually about topic, but this was so informative and enjoyable. I learned so much about one of my favorites! I’ll definitely check out other interviews.
2021-08-24
9. Renee Z - Generally I think people appreciate sincerity. Scott is a well prepared professional. Renee is a treasured cinematic figure. Exploring the depths of her career in a heartfelt style, Scott turned the interview into a conversation that seemed to be of genuine interest to both. I enjoyed hearing Renee turn the tables on Scott a couple of times, asking for his thoughts as well. That is authentic dialog, and it had me wishing the conversation would have continued beyond the hour. Being new to this podcast, I do look forward to exploring the library of interviews I missed over the last - years.
2021-03-12
10. Great podcast - Scott Feinberg is such an excellent interviewer. So prepared, thoughtful and even reflective at times. I especially appreciate how he responds to interview subjects when they push him to reframe his thinking (like in the Kerry Washington interview). Still, I watch/listen to a lot of Hollywood reporter podcasts, interviews and round tables and I do wish they would ask everyone (and not just ppl of color) about racism in Hollywood and ask everyone (and not just women) about sexism in Hollywood, etc. Its subject matter that’s important to all of us and would set a better precedent for interviews moving forward.
2021-01-26
11. Consistently fantastic - Scott delves into professional choices, work method, and personal motivations. He is thorough, prepared, and respectful. He might be the single biggest fan of the film industry, writ large, that I know of. His passion and enthusiasm for his subjects, their work, and time in which they work is irresistible. I recommend episodes of this podcast to friends more than any other.

1. Can’t decide on format - The original idea, I think, was to get to know people and explain the industry to the fans and general public. This started with an audio format with an additional video background to actually see the actors as they might act a character. This has turned into a video based format that leaves out audio listeners. Now audio listeners need to watch first so you don’t miss the visual cues. Not great for audio only.
2022-10-26
2. Radtacular VO Pod - I Hear Voices fills the void from the equally awesome Rob Paulsen’s Talkin Toons. The VO actor community seems genuinely nice, and Christy and Will are no exception. I also appreciate and respect their efforts to promote artists interested in the industry. Keep up the great work!
2022-10-12
3. Miraculous ladybug - Please have the miraculous ladybug and cat noir character voices. I would like all the characters voices please Podcast idea you should have a podcast of you too and you talk to Kim and Ron and you should have a conversation with them. ( I know there played by the host of this podcast)

4. Kim Possible.......Not just for kids! - My two daughters grew up watching and loving Kim Possible. I watched the episodes along with them. Each of us liked different things. They would like the episodes for just the content. I’d like the inter-action between Kim and Shego; and Shego’s put-downs of Dr. Dracken. (One of my dogs is named Shego!). Great show! Great podcast! Keep it going!

5. Oh my word!! - Did I just five star this podcast after just hearing the trailer? Yes. Yes I did! I have always wanted to get into voice acting and it’s gotten to the point whenever I read stories to my kids they ask me to just read it normally and without a voice is this time. Yes it stings a little bit but I still do some of the voices anyway.

6. Mic Drop - I look forward to each episode every week. You guys invite such fun and insightful people and I love getting a peek into that world behind the mic! Will and Christy have such a joyful vibe and connection to each other which is so lovely.
I am a nerd and also have a love for acting. My fiancé and I always do voices and he tells me I have the knack for it because I have the acting chops too. ;) Living vicariously.

7. Fans of Voice Actors, lend me your ear! - A delightful and informative podcast for anyone who is a fan of animation voice work.
The great energy between Christy and Will carries over from their Emmy winning show. And when it comes to asking questions about what it’s like and what it takes to work on both sides of the microphone, these two veteran voice actors do a wonderful job of asking the right questions, and uncovering some interesting and amazing stories! So far, my favorite episode is the interview with Kevin Conroy a.k.a. the BEST Batman ever! Who’s got two thumbs and is super excited for their future podcast and guest? This guy, right here! Thanks KP and Ron!

8. Makes my day. - I am so thankful for this podcast. I follow Christy on YouTube. So that is how I found the podcast. I really like that they post both video and audio only renditions of the show. It allows me to listen anywhere and still he entertained. It’s a very interesting podcast. I enjoy learning about the process of voice acting. The show really perks up my day every time I listen/watch. Right now my day to day can get really stressful as I help care for my father who has cancer. I have listened to I hear voices while my dad is in PT. Dueño my stressful days I can count on Christy, Will and their guests to make me genuinely laugh; something oh so precious to me in this season. Thanks for cheering up my day.

9. This podcast is amazing - Loved seeing you all speak with Kevin! You are all truly iconic. It was really nice to hear about each of your early days in your careers too. That was really interesting! I was and is a huge fan of the Batman animated series and Batman beyond, so this was amazing. Hope to see him come back if possible!
2022-03-29
10. Animazing! - I’m a huge fan of animation of all types and genres, so it is very cool to hear from all these voice actors and hearing their stories and sharing their experiences. The wide range of guests so far is astounding. I appreciate that there is interaction with the audience with voicing fan submitted drawings - it’s very heartwarming. Overall, I look forward to each episode every week. Can’t wait for more! One last thing - I demand a KP animated series reboot :) please make it happen

11. I know that voice! - Did i just quote a the only documentary ive ever heard on voice actors? Yes. Did i think if it a million times throughout the show? Also yes. You guys are refreshing and tell Will he is a gem. The opportunities for this podcast are limitless and i cant wait to see how far you guys take this. I also have seen Shelby Young on tiktok and couldnt click fast enough!! Thanks for keeping me company while i scrubbed the kitchen yesterday! Great show!!!

1. Great show - Great show, Joe is a fascinating guy and they bring really interesting guests on pretty regularly. I could do with fewer Leo stories - he works in the fact that he wrote the first script for Gotti and that he goes to mass every day at least once an episode. Other than that, these guys really do a great job.

2. Joe and Leo are fantastic! - This podcast is so interesting and the friendship dynamic between Leo and Joe makes it even better. Joe is an absolute legend and the way he recounts his memories with such detail is incredibly impressive. Listen if you want insight into how the old school mob operated and lived.

3. Great job Joe! - I just found this podcast and listened to all available episodes in two afternoons! It brought back a ton of great memories from stories I’ve heard you tell over the years. Joe, you’ve always been a good friend and my mentor in this undercover thing we love so much. Take care and keep telling the stories from your rich and unique history! Steve D.

4. Hands down st round KO to all contenders. - Let me first say (and you might call me a nut) but I have seen Donnie Brasco no lies over times. I sleep with the TV on and go to sleep with my favorite movies playing. I drift off and if I wake I might start another movie from my list (list in my head). Sometimes I will watch the same movie for or weeks and no other in the rotation. Of late Donnie Brasco has been going for over weeks. There are nights where I might watch the whole movie and crash on the nd (Goodfellas, All GF’s, Bronx Tale, yada yada) movie. Due to Covid I have been work from home since March but even at work I always have one beats pro or Klipsch in and I’m listening to podcasts while I work (during football season it’s strictly football pods, Sirius XM fantasy, etc.) but about a week ago I heard a commercial for this Pod and it’s on me, but ran through the whole Pod in days. It takes a strong Podcast to get a week out of me because I switch around but I took to this pod like a fiend. No other type of media have I ever felt like I was just sitting there watching Joe & Leo reminisce. The entire show from the front of the house to the back, working in unison and providing the audience with perfection.

5. Great great show! Can’t wait for - Can’t wait for the next set of episodes!! Here’s a thought, now that The Bulls out and has his podcast, wouldn’t it be an unbelievable conversation between Mr. Pistone with Leo facilitating the conversation? Especially the Castellano hit. You’d have both sides. A top top dog in the Outfit/mob and the top top undercover, that would be indescribable. God bless you both!!!
2020-12-29
6. On the fence - I like the show , but I’m still on the fence if pistons is a good guy or not . On one hand he put lots of bad guys in jail and on the other , he betrayed a group of guys that trusted him . I love mob stories and pistons don’t give a sit west I think lol so I’ll listen any way .. thanks for the show guys

7. Donnie Brasco - Besides knowing Joe personally, I thought the podcast was down to earth, all real and very informative Great podcast, being a close friend of Joe makes it x better. A true Hall of Famer in the Law Enforcement world. Joe is the GOAT. Keep the series continuing! The shows keep getting better and better. Its an eye opener and you cant beat first hand info
2020-08-07
8. The real Donnie Brasco - This is better than the movie! Listening to Joe Pistone tell the story of his undercover escapades is more suspenseful; and TRUE! This guy grew up in Paterson (as did I) and was in-training for this role his whole life. Thus was the ‘real’ guy that chose the right path when he could just as easily taken the wrong fork in the road.
Great listening!!!

1. The best interviewer - This is absolutely my favorite interview style screenwriting podcast. I’ve listened to so many interviewers talk with screenwriters and Al is SUCH an amazing interviewer. The balance of being personable, respectful, asking the best questions and bringing out the the best answers from the interviewee without overly inserting himself into the conversation/interrupting/etc. These interviews are informative, delightful, and so helpful for an emerging screenwriter. I can actually relax while listening instead of being filled with secondhand social anxiety like I normally am. Ha. Thank you Al for being so wonderful!

2. Insightful and inspiring. - Well done Al. You dive deeper than Tom Daley and unpick the tangle of screenwriting so we can learn from other writers’ experience, where they were, what they were thinking, what was going on around them, and how they got the story from script to screen. Writing can be a solitary calling and you create a feeling of community. Thanks.

3. “Needless to say, there won’t be a Script Apart episode on CRASH anytime soon. (snicker)” –Al Horner - “Needless to say, there won’t be a Script Apart episode on CRASH anytime soon. (snicker)” –Al Horner. What were you thinking? Wow. Needless to say… you weren’t. Clean this up, Al. Awesome job scoring points with your guest, whose film lost to Crash at the Oscars. But classless job leaving it in the episode.

4. A wonderful podcast for film lovers - This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. Imagine being able to attend a Q&A with the writers of your favorite movies, where they answer questions about how they transformed unpolished nuggest of ideas into the amazing final screenplays we love, hosted by a likable, intelligent moderator. I just saw an episode for Terminator appear in my feed and was so excited to listen, I knew it was time for me to leave this review as a recommendation and a thank you.

1. disappointed .. no critical lens - I was really disappointed in the analysis of “X” and especially “Pearl”. The hosts talked about being unsatisfied by the lack of "answers" Pearl provied. I don't think it's about that. It's about painting the landscape and building context. There doesn't have to be an explicit "why". Pearl’s psychopathic behavior is shaped and brought to a head from her experience as a woman of that time. She was brought up in a repressed household- her parents being first generation German immigrants, and a repressed society plagued by pandemic and war. The hosts talked about why pearl didn’t explain the “sex stuff” in X but you have to fill in the blanks. Think about the scarecrow scene.. think about how the projectionist showed her a pornographic film for the first time.. and now think about the conservatism of the time Pearl grew up in addition to the restraints her mother imposed on her, and how she ultimately never escaped it. It was my first time listening to this podcast- I picked it after skimming a few other podcast descriptions after reading that FPS had in depth discussion I clicked. I was let down…. It all felt like a really subjective read with no real critical lens or context.

2. Confused by star ratings - So, I only listened to one podcast and actually couldn’t listen to all of it so this is based off my initial impression which isn’t good. The three hosts constantly talk over one another which makes any movie review difficult to follow. The audio quality is atrocious and the movie that was reviewed wasn’t even a review. It was merely phrases “I ain’t mad at it” which brings nothing to the table. On top of that, it was evident the hosts weren’t prepared to discuss the movie they had just watched since they didn’t know the setting which as presented early on in the film. Therefore, I am confused by the ratings that praise this. Again, maybe it was the one episode I chose to listen. Unfortunately, this podcast isn’t for me.
2022-08-23
3. Focus - I don’t understand how you review movies & TV Series without paying attention to the movie or TV Series. It’s almost like they review stuff while on their phones or doing something else that takes attention elsewhere. My other issue is THEY HATE EVERYTHING You can’t go down the “Poor Writing” road but so much until people start to ask: What have you written?
2021-08-20
4. The best ever - This is the best podcast I’ve listened to. I find myself listening to reviews of movies i haven’t even watched. The cast here are awesome at putting things into different perspectives and really breaking down the movies to make It make more sense or less sense. The cast really puts in the work and are hilarious. I love this podcast!

5. NICK THE GOAT - hey guys just wanted to say I’ve been a fan since y’all reviewed Kendricks Section whatever year that was. FPS is my favorite format for you guys and that is mainly because of one Mr Nick. Nick brings such a breath of fresh air to you guys’ dynamic it is actually great. Hope to see Nick in more of you guys’ projects and hopefully he shows up in a DEHH video one day.
2021-02-12
6. Been following DEHH since !! - Love the content. Appreciate the hard work you all have put into growing your platform. Grown to listen to ITMSO and FPS more than what got me into y’all, album reviews. Basically if you guys review an album, I’ll check it out regardless but I love the insights into culture on your podcasts. Would love to see a review of Blade Runner on here, with all the dystopia going on currently. Keep up the great work, guys!

7. Black is king episode - I enjoyed your review of Black is King. I haven’t finished watching the whole show because we’ve lost our internet due to recent weather. I was curious about what people thought Beyoncé was trying to portray in this show. I too found it beautiful and confusing in regards to the story. I understood the references to lion king but felt there was more but couldn’t quite figure it out. Thanks for your thoughts. I liked the show and hope I can finish watching soon.
2020-08-07
8. Super Entertaining - I have been a long-time watcher of the Walking Dead since the beginning and have listened to the Frames Per Second podcast’s reviews of the show through the seasons. Ken, Myck, Beezy, Feefo, Rod, etc are fun to listen to, they have great chemistry and the reviews are funny and attentive to the themes and characters we have grown to know. Super Entertaining.
2020-03-11
9. Super Entertaining - I was really really entertained with the Captain Marvel review podcast and this might be one of my new favorites. Love almost all the Dead End podcasts and this one is great. I just hope that they moved to a more structured outline like. “Move Trailers/Movie News” “Movie Review” and maybe something else to end it and maybe a scoring system for each person using stars, thats the only constructive criticism I have, other than that, awesome.

1. Love it - I listened to STWR from cold chicken fingers, so of course I had to give Hello Ross a try! As much as I absolutely LOVED STWR (even cried during the finally episodes ) I am not disappointed by Ross’s new podcast. Of course I miss the old podcast and all of the wonderful people he had join him there, but I still enjoy getting to listen to Ross and all of the people he interviews here.
2023-02-12
2. Wonderful! Amazing! So fun! - I love this pod. Ross is so fun to listen to! He is so kind and wonderful to his celebrity guests and the people he talks to on zoom! He talks about real things and gets real people to share their stories and insights. I love his viewpoint on things. Keep these coming!!!
2023-02-11
3. Sad ): - I really tried with this pod. I was a loyal listener to STWRM. I understand this is different and I wanted to like it, but I don’t. It’s pretty boring & is just like every other celebrity podcast…interviewing other celebrities. I understand straight talk ending, but I am not sure this was the right move.
2023-02-03
4. Blah… - I have followed Ross his entire career. One of the best! But this podcast is hard to get through. He said he would be interviewing “normal interesting people,” but so far it’s just him and a celebrity telling each other how wonderful each is. It just seems fake as if he is forcing himself to smile throughout the entire episode. I’ll keep trying to listen to see if it gets better but so far it is just too fake and co-celebrity promoting to be entertaining. This is definitely no “interesting normal people” like he suggests when he refers to Mr Rogers Neighborhood.

5. Honestly Disappointed - year fan. Supporter of every podcast he's had. Financial supporter of STWR. But this new podcast is overly scripted & sanitized. Just another generic interview show w/guests you can hear countless other places. It's like Ross is trying to emulate Cristina Ferrare but... in a bad way. It's inauthentic & not him at all. Mass market appeal & money-maker this is not. Holy crap it's bad. Please start over. The fans are here for you & we'll wait. Update: I asked a question on his paid Patreon about whether he plans to interview any of his Drag Race colleagues and weirdly got banned by Ross & received a message from him. Fan lost forever. So I'll add: forgot to mention Ross is still with Radio One/Podcast One/Cumulus. The network hosts & caters to the most homophobic shows on earth. Seriously, just check their website. Really, Ross? BEN SHAPIRO? Insane. The owner sexually harassed a friend of Ross, Heather McDonald, CAUGHT ON RECORDING. And Ross continues to work with them. Deeply disheartening. I've had discussions with him privately and he only offers vague excuses. He doesn't practice what he preaches here and is just afraid to rock the boat by refusing to profit from anti-LGBTQ bigotry. It's why so many have so publicly stopped working with him. P.S. The Leslie Jordan interview was recycled from his old podcast. He used it to profit from the death of the man, trying to pass it off as unheard. Didn't think I could be more disappointed but here we are.
2022-11-23
6. Chicken soup for my soul - That’s how this podcast makes me feel! Your ability to get to the heart of anyone you are talking to never ceases to amaze me. Been a big fan for decades and have been craving something like this since your talk show! Update: this show is so good I had to come back to add to my previous review. Martyn Lawrence Bullard is so fascinating and I, more than most likely, wouldn’t have ever got to “meet” him without Ross’s introduction. You’re interview skills are second to none and this podcast has quickly become the thing I look forward to each week.
2022-11-19
7. This is not STWR, it’s a new change for him - Seeing all these awful reviewers going after him and saying horrible things and so much negativity towards this new thing, I am very sad for you. This is A NEW JOURNEY FOR HIM! STWR was gonna end. We know this. With Nikki and Malone having their own podcast now and Malone with his own, it was a matter of time. Ross is in NYC and with Drew Barrymore and living his best life with his new husband. This new podcast is showing a side that Ross always wanted to do…be the interviewee. He even said he always wanted to be an Oprah or a Sally and that’s what he is trying to do. I personally like to see change. Yes STWR will be missed but Ross is “growing up” in the podcast world. Congrats Ross. I’ll always listen
2022-11-08
8. Miss the podcast :( - The interviews that Ross used to do with celebrities were my least favorite part of the podcast, so hearing that the new podcast is exclusively that is very disappointing. I remember Ross saying that the listeners really care about their personal lives and silly things they talk about—he was right! I miss them. It’s just not fun to listen to when Malone and Nikki aren’t there to goof around with Ross. I don’t care about celebrities! The new podcast feels so inauthentic and impersonal. I hope the old episodes are uploaded again someday.
2022-11-07
9. Just a Shame - Mr. Mathews, I just don’t write reviews. I’ve been a listener of Straight Talk since . Enjoyed that small “discussions” regarding Malone’s mirror placement in his place. Fun loving actions of your pizza delivery & Kaftan gifts. Felt the heartache of Nikki’s miscarriage & Malone loosing his house in a horrific fire. The silliness of crabby corner & thought provoking topic in Nikki’s section of show. But I could not continue week after week not experiencing the chemistry between Youself, Malone & Nikki, without expressing my opinion about your decision to sever the listers that choose not to be part of the Kiss Kiss Club. For us (loyal listeners) to not get that closure is very selfish and egocentric not to say a money grab. This current podcast of yours (on save RSS feed) instead of building a different audience - SHAME who care’s about celebrities? Not Me - doesn’t pay my bills! Bring back Straight Talk - I enjoyed the weekly escape but, without the Loons! That was a bad move too gaining notoriety off your Good Will - it’s all just a shame. Sincerely, A former listener
2022-10-22
10. - Have loved the show since the beginning. Ross, Mark and Malone are legends! Can’t believe the podcast is ending during a period in history, where it’s needed most. First OutQ is gone, now Straight Talk! Big loss. Update: Not really feeling this new format. We have enough interview shows. I miss the craziness of Mark & Malone mixing it up with Ross. The Straight Talk show improved when CJay left, now it’s gone! Bummer.
2022-10-14
11. ending straight talk with ross at episodes but behind paywall - i mean is there anything more insulting to someone that listened to a podcast since than to make them pay for the farewell episodes. i was offended when i learned that i would need to pay to hear the final episodes. i was able to hear the last episode that aired via stitcher. it was a call in show for listeners. i found it really manipulative that the hosts asked each caller if they were paying to hear the final episodes. i felt contempt as a listener when ross kept trying to end the callers multiple times, but the other guests thankfully had more grace and heard from more callers. it was also disrespectful to loyal listeners to delete the complete archive before the show ended. if you wanted to go back and listen to episodes there is no way because they deleted the episodes. i’ll never know why cjay left the podcast because the episodes are gone. this isn’t the first time that ross deleted old episodes. he deleted all episodes somewhere in the s range when he faced legal action. i won’t be listening to the new podcast. i know that this all will fall on deaf ears but i just have to express my frustration and disappointment.

Comments
1. I’ve reviewed this podcast in the past. - Sonny’s interviewing style has developed to a point now where nobody can dispute he is one of the very best. I just now listened to his discussion with Ken Auletta, and there are no flaws in this discussion. Perfectly done. I learned so much. FYI, I wrote this on my own without encouragement. Sonny has no clue who I am. Just found his website through the intercession of goofy priests. Hopefully he will never grow tired of what he’s doing!
2022-07-29
2. Sonny does it again - I was a fan of ATMA & of course the SubBeacon pod, so it’s not at all surprising to have yet another top notch podcast from Sonny Bunch. I love the interview format. As someone who enjoys movies but knows very little about how they are actually made, I’m learning a lot. The D ep was fantastic!
2020-09-12
3. D Podcast Bulwark goes to Hollywood - Fascinating discussion on the art and business of D movies. If this sounds dry wait till you hear Tony Davis spin tales. Great to listen to Sonny Bunch’s excitement as he realizes he has podcast gold. Sonny unchained in these podcasts is an informative / entertaining host
2020-08-17
4. A Rarity Among All the Film Podcasts - There are a lot of podcasts about film...like, a lot. What sets “The Bulwark Goes to Hollywood” apart from the rest is that it focuses on the business side of the film business. It’s both insightful and interesting about an industry is changing faster than we can keep up.
2020-08-13
5. Sonny’s very good - Nobody has more interesting insight into the business side of Hollywood than Sonny Bunch. As Hollywood transitions into strange, uncharted territory Sonny is the perfect man to guide us through the madness. Disclosure: Sonny gave me a t shirt last month but that won’t cloud my impartiality.

1. Phenomenal Storytelling and Perspective - This is probably my favorite podcast I have ever heard. It is a cultural artifact with expert storytelling and also a historical account that will tell the story of the people behind this monumental film and our beloved Chadwick. Thank you to everyone involved for this gift of a show!
2023-03-03
2. Beautiful - I only recently began to listen to podcasts that give insight to how a film or show was made. This one is the best I’ve heard! I’m not sure if it’s the resonance with black culture and the representation but this made the film that much more beautiful. To hear all the meticulous effort to get the Mayan history and culture as correct as possible as well as the love and dedication to Chadwick warmed my heart. There were times when I dropped a little tear just because I was so touched to hear all the love Ryan and the cast and crew had for the project. This was honestly one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to and I’m grateful to everyone involved for giving the films and this podcast to us and our cultures. Just beautiful!
2023-02-23
3. Fantastic Podcast - If you loved the film, you’ll definitely love listening to this podcast. Every episode is a deep-dive into a different aspect of the movie, and is a fascinating look at how much love and care went making sure they got it right. Not gonna lie, I choked up several times listening to the cast talk about Chadwick.
2023-02-17
4. A Beautiful Collection of Stories - I feel deeply grateful to everyone involved in the making of the podcast. It is exceptional, stirring and emotional. Each episode is a treasure trove of both creative insights and examples of the strength of the human spirit. Thank you, a thousand times, thank you.

5. Great first episode - // update Outstanding. My sincere gratitude to all of you for this incredibly emotional podcast. Tonya A Thank you, Ta-Nehisi and Ryan Coogler. This initial episode was incredibly moving. My first viewing of Wakanda Forever will be on Friday morning (/). I look forward to future episodes of this podcast. Thank you! // I’ve just listened to episode . Wow. I love the care that was taken to ensure the Mexican/Maya/Meso cultures were represented respectfully. I wasn’t the only person who didn’t want the Wakandans and the Talokans to fight. I get why, but we want them to co-exist peacefully. Thank you, again, for this excellent podcast and sharing perspectives from the cast and behind the scenes crew.
2023-02-16
6. What We All Need To Hear - This is one of the best podcasts I have heard in a long time. I bought Wakanda Forever on K, but was disappointed when there were only special features. This podcast is exactly what I was looking for. It gives more background in the transition from BP to BP, and goes in depth at the themes, world building, and thoughts behind every character and idea. A must listen to.
2023-02-11
7. Saw the movie times before listening… - I live for this depth of behind the scenes of a film. Thank you everyone who has anything to do with bringing this film from page to screen while mourning the lead actor.
I include this podcast.
Thank you for this beautiful gift.
I’ll be coming back to listen to different episodes when I rewatch the movie.
2023-02-08
8. Thank you for caring to share - As a podcast lover & an actress I’ve absolutely loved to her the creative processes that have been told on every single episode. What a treat to have Ta-Nehisi Coates as our navigator too Thank you for caring to share this with the people who love BP, love the storytelling medium of Film, & are curious human beings
2023-02-07
9. Magic - This podcast is just magic, everything we needed and more. It brings a closure that the movie just couldn’t. The first episode found me in tears and in love with the amazing connection and friendship between Coates and Coogler. The joy of learning the beginnings of Wakanda, Ryan’s thought process, and now what the first script originally looked like before we lost our beloved hero. It’s just magic. Thank you for this. Thank you.
2023-02-07
10. From one artist to another - As an audience member, you sit in awe of the echos of greatness, as you witness the beyond magical collaboration of collective efforts. This is what both Black Panther films provided for me, and so many others. However, what this podcast offers is a rare look at how that greatness we saw in theaters came to be, one podcast at a time!
2023-01-25
11. Deep Dives and Deep Feels - I love this podcast. Mr. Coates does an amazing job hosting, bringing out hidden gems like the gifted journalist he is. The personal-ness of it is incredibly special. And as someone with mesoamerican heritage I so appreciated the conversation about how the values of these movies provided the scaffolding upon which to bring to life the world of Talocan with the same care as Wakanda. I felt that solidarity while watching the movie and it was so special to hear it talked about specifically.
2023-01-21
12. Beautiful and Haunting - I don’t think a podcast has ever moved me as much as just this first episode did. I laughed, I reminisced, I mourned, and I did shed a tear or two. Chadwick Boseman was an incredible person with an incredible legacy that no one will ever be able to live up to. I felt the weight of his loss in Wakanda Forever, and it grounded the movie in truth and emotion. I can’t wait to explore how this wonderful and heartbreaking movie was made. Chadwick Boseman: Forever in our hearts, forever our King.

Comments
1. In Space, No One Wants Know Ur WOKE - Generally an enjoyable and thoughtful podcast right up until Episode when host Jaime Prater felt it necessary to make his personal socio-political observations known when a random comment included author J.K. Rowling. SMH Suffice to say; unsubscribing was an appropriate response.
2022-11-05
2. Beware! Fantastic, deep-dives every episode! - Perfect Organism is the first podcast to hook he into regular listening. The hosts discuss details of the Alien saga to a level and depth I had not encountered. From behind-the-scenes to cast and creator interviews, they do a great job of separating episodes into focused series within their expansive back catalog for new listeners. High production values set it apart from a lot of similar sci-if genre podcasts. They delve into a granular level of minutiae without alienating the uninitiated. Their format and pacing is so solid, I don’t know how they do it. But I’m glad they do. Every episode goes to the top of the queue. Do yourself a favor and listen to these knowledgeable hosts and characters. Beware! They will pull you back into this franchise deeper than you ever have been!
2022-02-02
3. Love this podcast - I love this franchise, and these people do an amazing job diving in to each episode (regardless of the topic) to explore something new about a particular character or movie (or soundtrack!). It’s hard to find podcasts these days that are so entertaining AND stay away from current politics/political views (because if I wanted that I’d listen to some other show).
Thank you so much for all the work you put in to each episode and I look forward to many, many more to come!
2021-12-28
4. Wonderful Podcast - Huge Alien fan and I love listening to this podcast while at work. These guys are huge fans and extremely knowledgeable on the Alien franchise. It’s a pleasure to listen to. Only criticism from me is to stop crapping on Resurrection so much! I love that movie dearly! Great podcast five stars.
2021-09-21
5. Very knowledgeable but too harsh - Similar to Star Wars fans they are too critical of anything newer because it doesn’t give them the same feeling of when they were a child.... I respect the level of knowledge they have on the films but I started with the first episode and really got bummed when they hated on the newer movies... I understand they are not groundbreaking or as good as the original as many of us watched them young but spending min on the negative is rough to listen to...
2020-11-18
6. The Definitive Alien Podcast! - Jaime and Patrick are an absolute pleasure to listen to as they analyze, dissect, and discuss anything and everything Alien. I found this podcast six months back while working from home during the COVID- state lockdowns, and I am glad I did. Their unique and intelligent take on the franchise will help you discover you loved the movies even more than you thought you did! If you are an Alien fan, this is the podcast for you!
2020-11-12
7. Explorative, thought provoking and illuminating - It’s a joy every time Jaime and Patrick publish a new episode. While exploring he depths of the Alien series, they expose the right and wrong using scholarly comparisons to other films in high cinema, reflect on seminal experiences growing up with the movies, and speculate on the future of the franchise. Often featuring guests, call ins, movie clips, and interviews with cast and crew. As a die hard Alien fan, this is among my favorite podcasts.
2019-12-09
8. Found my people - Over the last few months, these folks have been my transition from "liking the Alien movies" to "being an Alien fan". The rotating cast of hosts makes each episode feel like I'm seeing a slightly different perspective each time; the fact that they're all awesome people doesn't hurt ;) In particular, I really appreciate their commitment to intellectually honest discourse around the newer movies. Some of the hosts like them, some don't. While there are genuine disagreements at times, all the conversations I've seen have been in good faith, with rational people, capable of nuance and of changing their minds. The show is now getting to the point where the choice of starting with the earliest shows, or the most recent material, migh actually make a difference; I started with the recent shows and have gone roughly backwards from there. Others have said the audio quality isn't great or the hosts get a bit rambly. I think they might have been listening to earlier episodes: at least since the production value has been top tier.
2018-12-20
9. Absolute Labor of Love! - I’ve been listening to this podcast since it was first getting its legs under it & it’s one of my go-to’s. Jaime, Patrick, & the rest of the rotating hosts pour tremendous knowledge of the Alien films/series into each episode...but also with the perfect mix of wit and humor. The Alien film series represents the best & worst of many of our childhood film experiences, but it’s also a microcosm of the POV’s & discussions that congregate our society today. The hosts never veer into serious political issues (so you don’t have to fear that!) but are amazingly focused on Alien lore & the literary, theatrical, and social elements that made/make this film series so great. Give them a try; I think you’ll be coming back for “more cornbread”!

10. Scary Great - This show is a labor of love from the hosts. For any fan of the Alien franchise, you will not be disappointed. Topics of the show are all over the place in the best way: multi-part episodes about each film, character focused episodes, news and discussion, roundtables, and even radio dramas. The production values and quality of the discussion got me hooked right away.

11. I’ve been listening since Peter was on the show.. - I do love this show! JM, Ryan, Patrick, Dave.. you are all truly special. Alien is something I discovered over a decade ago when I was about and I’ve cherished every facet of it ever since. The release of Prometheus pushed my full blown love for Alien over the edge into absolute obsession. I love being able to listen to passionate people talk seriously about something that’s so deeply integrated in my life. I’ve listened through the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, the excitement and the anger - all the emotions that have been conveyed for this franchise through past couple years. I love being excited with you all, and even though things can and do get pretty heated here and there, I’m glad everyone’s able to share their opinions simply because it’s all out of the pure love for this terrific franchise. The discussions have grown, matured, and are particularly well-rounded now that there have been more voices added to the show that represent every part of this very elastic fanbase. There are so many parts of Alien to love from the comics, to the books, the games, the crossovers, the collectibles, and yes, even the prequels. Thanks for everything you all do, keep up the great work - I can’t wait to see what in store for us next!

12. Enjoyable Podcast - I'm a comic book addict too. This is a tough subject. People are emotionally connected to this franchise on different levels. Sometimes when different views and theory's are explored , others seem angered or at least upset by these various views. I really appreciate the podcast and all the work required. I love the podcast. If I disagree with certain aspects, I'm still grateful for the discussion/ conversation and different viewpoints. Thanks.
PS went to Covenant on release day. Loved it. It's got faults. So what. I guess I'm simply grateful. Love this universe. Thank you for your work.

1. Such a great podcast! - Love how positive the show & commuinity always is. Started downloading episodes now that I know that helps more. I usually watch on youtube. My question is, if I'm not mistaken Holland has one more apperance in current deal. Where would you most like to see that happen? To me obvious answer is Daredevil. Even though it's less likely I like the idea of him being in Secret Invasion because Fury not being on world when spell was cast so he should be one of the few who knew his identity and he could trust Spider-Man agaisnt Skrulls.

2. podcast on the air - Listener since day . I love the dynamic of the group of BD, Aaron, Jamie and Jenna. Even jailhouse Jim. The news, and conversations of marvel project are top notch. What has better odds of happening… Thunderbolts has skrulls on the team or the reason Daredevil born again is episodes is cause it finally is a show that occurs during the blip with time jumps to current MCU day?

3. Awesome podcast!! - I love your podcast!! Big huge marvel fan, so question for you guys? I am a Daredevil fan, the Daredevil series about to film and heavy rumors is that there’s going to be a lot of team ups. Who would you love to see Matt team up with? Mine might pretty obvious but it’s Spider-Man

4. I love this podcast and I have a question! - I have been listening to you since late and have listened to every episode since! For your upcoming podcast where you will be answering questions, I have a good one. If you could choose two characters to team up who would they be? I would have Ms Marvel and Ironheart because they would be so funny together and have such great chemistry! -Ethan

5. Annoying - Listened to this pod for the first two years. It was never one of my favorites but I gave it its chance thinking that being the sister pod to Comicbook Nation, it would eventually become better. It hasn’t. It feels like the host and some of the panelists are making it to amuse themselves more than to entertain the listener. Today, I unfollowed it. Won’t miss it.

6. had to write a review… - you guys finally covered my favorite topic which is the idea of a movie taking place in another universe and it’s only revealed later. my dream Fantastic Four movie involves us seeing the origin of the team, with Krasinski as Reed, only for the post credits scene to reveal its from the universe and we’re at Reed’s funeral following Wanda turning him into noodles. that being said i’ve been following the podcast since the very beginning, one of my favorite MCU things to take in. i’ve reviewed else where but got on the Apple Podcast app just to give you five stars here too.

7. Such an enjoyable crew! Phase Zero is just tops! - I kinda-sorta remember why I started listening to Phase Zero. It could have been around San Diego Comicon when Marvel/K.E.V.I.N. got on stage and introduced several new properties/sequels/phases… I dunno… I was trying to find out in real time what was going on but most of the other channels were kinda lame. Then I caught a recap from Phase Zero on their YouTube channel and I felt a true connection with this crew… these aren’t just entertainment guys the Phase Zero crew is made up of FANS… and they’re KNOWLEDGABLE FANS!!! My goodness! I started listening to their more recent podcasts and began listening backward… then I rewatched “Loki” and decided to listen to the Phase Zero “Loki” podcasts and loved their reactions. I did the same for “Ms. Marvel,” “Hawkeye,” and “Moon Knight” - I still have some episodes to listen to from way back in the day, but I’m pretty much caught up - and I WISH that Phase Zero did a podcast maybe two or three times a week instead of just on Thursdays. The perspectives are fun, they are SO inclusive and respectful of fans of all ages, races, religions, etc… they are humble and admit if/when they’re wrong (which isn’t that often) - but I LOVE how friendly they are with each other. I’d honestly love to join this crew on a podcast and chit chat about upcoming movies or shows (especially Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy - that’s my JAM) - I’d have so much fun just TALKING with them. Anyhow… sorry… I’m supposed to give you reasons why you should listen to this and not fanboy out on a fanboy program… but honestly, you couldn’t find a better group of people to geek out on Marvel with. The guests they’ve brought on are amazing (I mean the Michael Giacchino/Jessica Gao interview was so incredible I blocked off my work schedule just so I could watch/listen to it in real time). Listening to Phase Zero reinvigorates my love for all things Marvel and I’m pretty sure this podcast needs to continue for as long as it possibly can. Keep up the excellent work BD, Aaron, Jenna, Jim, Jamie and the rest of the crew! Thank you for giving me an extra hour of joy every week!

8. It’s Just A Really Great Show - I love this show. I listen to a baker’s dozen marvel podcasts each week, and this one is hands down the BEST. I do think Jim should come back though. He’s served his sentence long enough, and I doubt anyone even remembers why he was put in jail in the first place. Thank you for making this show.
2022-10-06
9. A must listen! - I look forward to this podcast every week! Love the hosts and their commentary on everything Marvel. Keep up the great work! Please have Jim on the show more please lol. Also question: if you guys didn’t have to report on all things marvel, would you avoid movie trailers in order to be surprised by movie plots? Thank you!

10. Great Show and a Great Listen - I listen to this podcast every week, whether it’s on Apple Podcasts or YouTube. Aaron, Brandon, Jamie, and Jenna give us a great show every single time. Thanks for bringing me a little bit of joy each week! Question: If not a solo project, where do you think we’ll see the Scarlet Witch next? -pumped for the new comic run as well!

11. Great show but - Great show but that last episode about Deadpool and Wolverine sucked the guy talking just said the same thing over and over again still he’s saying the same thing my god shut him up. She hulk is awesome. I agree with u guys mcu should slow down a little I think we need more time with these characters. Not nessarily more shows just more time. I think we need to stop spoiling surprises. Everyone needs to stop ruining surprises
2022-09-29
12. Can we be honest? - I love this show. But let’s be honest. You guys clearly tip toe around how bad She-Hulk is. Especially BD. For you to come on and say “idc what anyone says. This show is a blast. It’s so much fun” when it’s clear you’re just saying vague positive things to not be negative. Y’all have been critical when something just was ok or not great but for some reason, nothing but positivity of arguably the worst thing Marvel has put out. Now why is that?

This podcast will also teach you writing skills you can apply to everyday business writing, because strong writing entails many universal techniques. Equally important, Michael and Phil host well together and the episodes are just short enough to enjoy while I walk the dog in the morning. Highly recommend for anyone who loves movies, or simply strives to improve their writing.

9. Tip of the hat to Phil! - Although Mr. Jamin is full of so much helpful information, it’s really Phil that brings this podcast to life! He does a marvelous job at prying open the vault of knowledge that is in Michaels head! As a trucker who is inspired to write, this podcast perfect for me to get a fun look inside the writers minds. Always looking forward to the next!

10. A candid look at the business of TV writing - This podcast is a must listen for any aspiring TV writer. Michael and Phil do a great job sharing what it takes to write professionally. Michael has made a career from writing. The advice he shares is time tested. There are a lot of shows featuring amateur screenwriters regurgitating a book they read. This is NOT one of those podcasts. If you want to learn what it means to write for TV from an actual TV writer this is the show for you!

2. Informative and inspirational - I found this podcast a few months ago, and it has quickly risen to the top of my list. The personable hosts bring a refreshing honesty to the show, covering a broad range of topics centering on the challenges and joys of JUST GETTING MOVIES MADE. Liz and Alrik call upon a wealth of experience in both for-hire and self-produced projects, while striving to push their careers forward with determination and enthusiasm. 5. Festival Programmer Sneaks on Set - Ive been programming for film festivals for years now and recently decided I’d like to learn more about what the filmmakers I’ve come to love endure. This is something I’ve avoided for years as I came to my work as a huge fan of short films and decidedly NOT a filmmaker. I’ve always embraced the idea that I want to consume and view films like the members of our festival audience and not through the eyes of a filmmaker. I still embrace this notion but recently decided that after all these years I’d like to be more helpful to the emerging filmmakers whose films play at the now three festivals for which I am either the programmer of all films or the programmer of the short films. In order to do so I feel the need to become more educated about what independent filmmakers experience before, during, and after their films play at our festivals. My mind has always resisted this path for fear that it would make my already difficult job even more difficult. I already care deeply for the filmmakers who submit films, having a pretty good idea of the challenges, expenses, and constant rejection they face. To know even more will surely make that sense of empathy grow further, again, making my job even more difficult. But I recently found my mind responding to this idea that “knowing even more will make my job harder” by channeling Joan Allen as Bonnie Waitzkin responding to Ben Kingsley as Bruce Pandolfini, in one of my all time favorites, Searching for Bobby Fischer. Pandolfini has just asked Bonnie to stop allowing Josh to play chess in the park. Bonnie replies, “No. It would kill him not to play in the park. He loves it.”. To which Pandolfini replies, “It just makes my job harder.”. And then Bonnie answers with the line my mind has channeled, “Then your job’s harder.”. So, here I am having accepted this fate. Amongst the things I’ve done to start, “The Film Education of a Veteran Festival Programmer”, is start listening to your podcast. I consumed five episodes on my first day and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. And I’m writing this review on the same day. I took a break from watching Liz’s short films on YouTube, having watched and enjoyed “This is a Short We’re Submitting to Film Festivals” and the music video “ You’re So Pony”, after having watched Alrik’s short film, “Strange Thing” on YouTube as well, to write this review. Thank you both for the incredibly valuable work you’re doing not only behind the camera but behind the microphone as well. You’re helping me more fully understand, what I already knew, that making movies is hard. But more importantly your also helping me understand how I might be able to be more helpful to the filmmakers who eventually find their way into my small but enthusiastic universe. Thank you so very much and I look forward to making my way through your history of podcasts while also tuning in for all the new episodes to come!

6. Indie’s Time to Shine - This podcast recently landed on my radar and immediately drew my attention because both the questions and answers are “no holds barred”. In the next decade as all content creation migrates to Web I predict these young ambitious indie filmmakers we are introduced to each week will be on the frontlines of change. Stay tuned!!

7. Great show! - Liz and Alrik are open and candid about their work in film and their ups and downs. They bring in amazing guests to share their experience on what it takes to make movies. It is a great encouragement for anyone who is working or wants to work in the industry. And it’s fun for any fan of film to hear how it’s made!

8. Great show! - Making movies is hard has been a great education in independent film for me. I really appreciate Liz and Alrich’s “we’re all in this together” attitude. I’m listening through tons of past episodes to learn, and it also really helps me stay motivated to keep pursuing the indie dream.

9. Best podcast for indie filmmakers!!! - I wish I found this podcast years ago. I’ve been making films for a long time and still so much of the process is a mystery to me. The best part about this show is the encouragement to just get out and make things, and hearing so many different filmmakers tell their unique stories, getting into the nuts and bolts of making their films, is so inspiring. I honestly have had a better outlook on life and moving forward in my “career” thanks to this show. It made me realize you have to just keep making films and you are the only person who will be determined enough to see them through. I had a version of that realization when I made my second feature recently (first as director) out of sheer will and determination, but I felt so tired and worn down afterwards and thought I couldn’t continue making films in this way. Something about hearing on this show that it’s just that hard for EVERYONE, every time, at all stages of their careers, has given me the fortitude to feel like I can continue to devote my life to this. There’s not really such a thing as “making it,” and somehow really realizing that is freeing (and only a little depressing haha). The cohosts are so lovely and generous with their knowledge and curiosity, and I just want to say thank you Liz and Alrik, you guys are awesome. Having just discovered this show a couple weeks ago I have a ton of episodes to catch up on!

10. A great resource for finding interesting movies - I discovered this podcast because of the Joe Bob Briggs episode. I’m not a filmmaker, but I’ve always been interested in the process of movie making and I’m a fan of watching independent films. The hosts of this show Liz and Alrik do a great job with their interviews and keep the show interesting because of their insights and experience in filmmaking. As a result of this podcast, I’ve discovered many new shorts and features that I wouldn’t have found without their podcast. Keep up the great work!!! Edwin

11. New to film writing and making - Starting my second script but first real deal screen writing process. I searched for a filmmaker podcast and came across making movies is hard and the confidence I’ve gained from every episode is so amazing. A very well done and informative podcast with two full of personality hosts. A good dynamic and the guest aren’t asked the same questions. I recommend this podcast to anyone who is looking to learn about the filmmaking process. Keep up the good work. Ps out of because of what Liz brought up

12. An honest and inspiring conversation. - I have been listening to the podcast for several months and have thoroughly enjoyed Making Movies is Hard. As a filmmaker myself, I can truly relate to the ups and downs of independent filmmaking that Alrik and Liz so frequently discuss. I continue to be inspired by them and their guests to progress in my filmmaking journey.
