3. Love the pod, but oh billy billy billy - Pod’s great, I’ve been listening for about years now and I look forward to it each day it drops. But oh my goodness billy has got to do something about his lying problems. It makes me wanna run through a stained glass window sometimes. The sad part is sometimes he gets so involved in the lie he convinces me that he truly believes the misinformation he is spreading. 4. Getting Stale. Needs a refresh. - I’ve listened to every single episode since June of . In the past year or so, some of the magic has seemed to disappear. Jake and Billy are way too involved, and when they do speak, their jokes fall flat. PFT’s too obsessed with his bits and hasn’t grown or evolved in years. We shouldn’t be hearing Delly jokes in . Hoping when the crew moves to Chicago, Big Cat will help recalibrate the show. Getting close to moving it out of my rotation which makes me very sad.

5. Not what it used to be - Once Jake and Billy came onto the scene and Big Cat and PFT elevated them to be a main part of the show, I started tuning out. They aren’t funny and they kill the jokes and disrupt the chemistry between Big Cat and PFT. Plus, you can click on any episode and go to any random time stamp and you’ll probably hear at least two people speaking at the same time.

1. So much fun - I found this show after the Super Bowl, and I am really enjoying listening to each podcast, knowing how the season winds up for both brothers. I’m a long-time KC Chiefs fan ( years), and Travis is one of my all-time faves. Listening to this podcast, I’m really enjoying learning more about Jason. He is so excitable and hilarious to TK’s chill (unless he’s defending Arrowhead or screaming “you gotta fight…”). 2. Class act Kelce’s - From the moment Travis was a rookie I joked to everyone he was my fantasy husband. (He’s like my sons age I think. Hahah) my husband knew this and it was all in fun. Not only so handsome but you just knew he was going to be something great. And each year he got better, he got more humble. My boys are big football players and Travis and Patrick are their role models. They don’t miss anything they are associated with. Now comes in Jason! Holy moly. Can I have two fantasy husbands? Haha. For real though, their podcast is the coolest thing since football was invented. I love this duo and you just know their parents have got to be so proud of them. I love listening to their podcasts as they are very entertaining. We get their opinions on the weekly games and also some things in their personal life. I love hearing about their mom. I hope someday if my boys make it big they talk about me like these two talk about their mom. This is one family that genuinely loves each other. 3. Best podcast in a long time - Kansas City Native but honestly never followed football. This is change my perspective on football, and actually made me a pretty big fan, following games through the season. 8. Love the brother bond and hilarious - I like football. I’m not obsessed but my husband loves it and we watch together. I saw these two brothers play in the Super Bowl and then saw that they had a podcast together. I wondered how close they were and started listening. They are HILARIOUS!!!! I love their bond. They are interesting and talk about things in the league that even a sometimes football viewer like myself finds really entertaining. 3. Reaching out about antisemitic advertising - Herd team - I’m a daily listener to much of the volume. And I’m an antisemitism educator. I want to raise a flag about an ad that frequently runs at the start of the Herd podcast that is, likely unintentionally, pushing forward an antisemitic lie. Specifically, the ad, which is calling people to Jesus, blames the crucifixion of Jesus on his followers. While the ad doesn’t explicitly use the word Jews, it’s well known that most of his followers were Jews. Moreover, it’s we’ll known that the murder of Jesus has been blamed on Jews for millennia. This lie has lead to an incredible amount of antisemitic violence over the centuries, and remains central to many antisemitic attitudes in the western world today. It’s quite common to see Jews called “Christ Killers” online or in person, or to see it on billboards and highway overpasses in America, as a rallying cry for white supremacists in America and the west more broadly, who also blame Jews for the browning of America (and the west). Christianity is a beautiful faith and has much to offer people and the world, but at a time of heightened antisemitism, certainly we can find better ways to call people to Christ then to focus purely on the crucifixion in a way that reinforces an idea that has led to the death of millions of Jews over the centuries. Please reconsider the content of this ad and ask the organization to produce content to replace it that accomplishes the goal of calling people to their work without pushing forward stories that we know have caused great harm to a small minority group.

Specifically today though, with the tragedy that was Damar Hamlin’s collapse last night, the way Colin and the team handled the show today showed absolute class and a well-thought out delivery. 5. Worth checking in once a week - I can’t listen to this day in and day out. It’s hours of listing the NFL quarterbacks by measurables. The first hour is game results and a weekly check in on how the quarterbacks look. The second hour is how Colin was right or wrong about those same results he just talked about. The third hour is a magic ball spin on what Colin thinks about— you guessed it— NFL quarterbacks. Somewhere in the middle is an interview where Colin regurgitates his takes on NFL quarterbacks that he just gave us for positive affirmation- which the host is more than willing to give—to have an ally in the profession. And this reaffirms Colin as an expert on the topic of quarterbacks. He’s a great opinionated personality but check in weekly. There isn’t enough variety of topics anymore. He is established and dug in with Fox and the hunger seems to be gone. He’s coasting. UPDATE: Yeah, I switched it to star I just can’t listen anymore. I used to love Colin, but it’s hours EVERY DAY of ranking quarterbacks in different ways. He is phoning it in but I guess people are listening. They shouldn’t.

6. Stop screwing up the downloads - Look, I really enjoy Colin (the show is star) but I can't believe the nonsense in how the show is posted and managed on iTunes. Forget the gush of extra shows, the settings on the primary show cause the entire backlog to mark as completed and removes it from my phone. Its work to keep them saved so I can listen. Increasingly its work I don't want to do. I'd hate to give it up but will have to if this isn't resolved. Its the only show on all of iTunes that does this. Come on.

Bring Back Background Music to Podcast - I enjoyed the show more when they played their background music for special segments ( e.g. Colin Right/Wrong, Herd Hierarchy, Herdline News, etc.) on podcast and radio broadcasts. It makes the show more fun and enjoyable for listeners who can’t tune in to the TV show. The music adds to the segment, whereas cutting it off before special segments seemed artificial and unnecessary.

Used to be a big fan - Used to listen daily to best of the herd I still like his takes but the problem with this podcast and his colin cowherd podcast is too many episodes are from other podcasts that I’m just not interested in…I get him wanting to promote others but after couple weeks he needs to stop promoting them…the only one he’s promoted who is good is John Middlekauf and after two listens I signed up for the Middlekauf podcast and don’t need to listen on the cowherd feed for him If he released a best of the herd podcast with just the best of the herd ( min summary) and nothing else would sign up in a second and give that stars

Robert Mays is like you and I, but he has smarter friends. And he makes every conversation interesting and fun. I could listen to Robert and Nate Tice talk about football (and everything else) all day. Seems like most years top level College coaches are looked at as prime candidates for Head Coaching jobs in the NFL. Do you think College Program GMs will be looked at for potential GM openings in the league? Seems like someone with hands on roster construction experience and obviously a ton of tape study given how fast rosters shift at the college level might have a leg up on candidates from other NFL teams personal staff who have played supporting roles but never had their full blueprint on a roster. 4. All Football. No baloney. Except Rhett Lewis - I really like that DJ and Bucky are all football. They don't get into other nonsense like a lot of sports "radio." The tell it straight, they break it down and they keep moving. I could listen to Bucky and DJ talk footballl all day long. But every Monday, Rhett Lewis wrecks the chemistry and ruins the show. He talks too much, he talks too loud, and he goes on endlessly. When he is supposed to make one point, he jams in and meanders all over the place. He tramples on Bucky and DJ and sometimes I wonder if he’s ever going to let them speak again. A great example of this is how he goes on and on in November th wrap up show. He seems to be trying to prove that he knows a lot rather than work with DJ and Bucky. Please give him some feedback on how to get better. Lance Zuerlein would be a much, much better fit as a third member on Mondays.

8. A little lacking - DJ and Bucky give decent analysis but it lacks a little courage. In the episode recapping the Chiefs Raiders there was no mention of the egregious roughing the passed call on Chris Jones. I don’t know if that was because they employed by the NFL or if it’s because DJ can’t take off his Charger hat when talking about any team in the AFC West.

He discovered he was depressed and needed help and didn’t ask feeling he would be considered as “weak”. It took going to prison and having a brain tumor to realize he has worth. Good job guys!!

4. Well-rounded Exellence - I was a listener of Trevor and Ben on the Locked-on draft podcast and was sad to see it end. Then a shining light emerged from the darkness about a year ago as this new podcast emerged. Trevor and Connor do a fantastic job and have great chemistry together. They aren’t into Xs and Os — head over to Robert Mays and Nate Tice at the Athletic for that — but their pure love of the game, from its absurd aspects to its beauty, shines through. And their personalities complement each other perfectly. I’d love to hang out with these guys over beers. Dan might be the perfect podcast host, from his voice to his ability to helm the ship. Marc’s sour demeanor and contrarianism are a welcome counterpoint. And Gregg is kind of in the middle, like the straight man. Don’t sleep on Gravedigger either — he times his interjections well (and has a great drop).

2. It’s called GM shuffle, not point/counter point with Feme and Mike - Not loving the chemistry between Mike and the new host. I think Adnan and Tate worked better in terms of setting up Mike tell us how the game is played and managed. The goal is to inform us and “make us smarter” as viewers and fans. The new guy likes to talk about the Cowboys, his bets and whom he thinks is a good player/team. He may be right, but I’m tuning in to listen to the GM, not necessarily to listen to two people go back and forth-I can tune into PTI or First Take instead. Also, the side chatter isn’t as good. Mike is Mike, so if he wants to go off on the Sixers, the Sopranos, Goodfellas,Frank and Dino, he needs someone to riff with. I don’t know if Feme is on the same wavelength; he usually just gives a chuckle after one of Mike’s rants and the conversation generally dies off after a brief pause. They either need to work on the chemistry or find a new co-host.

3. Like it … but - The football material is fine. Lombardi has worked with various teams and has some good insights. But there are some tired themes that he won’t let go. He likes to rail against the many who claim Tua is better than Herbert. Those people are never identified (I have never heard anyone say Tua is better). We can’t make it through an episode without bringing up the Sopranos. That show has been off the air for years — please let it go. It’s like that annoying friend who wants to keep re-hashing Seinfeld. And a question on point spreads, on which Lombardi does not only to tenths but hundredths. That is, in his opinion Buffalo is . points better than Cincinnati this week, while Philadelphia should be a .-point favorite against the Giants. There’s no explanation of how he’s getting to those micro-numbers. He’s going behind half points, quarter points and even eighth points. It’s weird and deserves an explanation.

Content is Great But They Take Their Audience Granted. - At some point podcast hosts will show enough respect for their audience to not record a podcast where one of the hosts internet connection is spotty at best. If this were radio or television, the offending party would be dropped until the connection would be re-established. Here we had to continue listening to every third word while the host tried to find a better location. Extremely annoying to listen to particularly on the first show after the NFL season’s opening week.

5. Perfect isn’t the enemy of good - Sam and Steve succeed in making a compelling show about the NFL that is mostly intelligent despite airing for many minutes several times a week. I mean that in the best way possible, although it sounds like damning with faint praise - it’s hard to make quality NFL content several times a week, especially during the offseason! Coming from PFF, you expect a higher level of discourse for stats, player evaluation, and narratives compared to the average NFL pod, and they mostly deliver there. They get stretched thin at times and end up defaulting to silly narratives or pointless comparisons, but overall they stack up well against the other options. Even though they are more “analytics” focused, they have great chemistry and are one of the best NFL pods in that category, far better than all the other PFF pods that swing wildly between frat-boy idiocy and bespectacled nerd vibes. Their great chemistry (not quite camaraderie) gets you through the rougher points, like when Sam tries to explain his understanding of some new social media phenomenon or when Steve tells a baseball anecdote. In the right mood, those interludes are almost charming. Truly the flagship show of PFF, they are the only reason I’ve given a try to their other podcasts or authors beyond their draft coverage. Give them more respect, management!

6. Overall decent podcast but – - Does anyone else notice that Steve cannot help but get defensive about Tom Brady whenever another good QB is brought up? At first I thought it was just part of the analysis, but recently when Sam says anything positive about Aaron Rodgers, Steve has to interject with ‘Yeah, but Brady was better because…’ I understand having a rooting interest, but isn’t PFF supposed to provide unbiased analysis? It feels like Steve is more concerned that Brady’s legacy will be hurt by acknowledging that other QBs are good. Makes me doubt the objectivity of the his takes. With that said, Sam has decent analysis and the show is pretty entertaining (even if not always objective).

5. A great podcast for bettors and fans - The Big Bets on Campus Podcast is outstanding. You might think that three guys from far-flung locations of a Lexington, Kentucky watering hole (Stuckey); running up the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (Mike Calabrese) and calling in from the middle of an Iowa corn field (BJ Cunningham) are not qualified to give you their insights and picks on college hoops - but you’d be wrong! Even though you need to sometimes turn up the volume a bit to hear Stuckey as he yells over the drunk UK fans; or Mike as his breathing gets just slightly labored on his sixth ascent up those famous steps; or even BJ as the wind whistles through the corn stalks in mid-January, these guys actually know their stuff - and they are following their own advice - putting their own money on these games and logging bets in pre-game into the award-winning Action App. On the pod they each make their picks and explain their reasoning - letting you decide whether to follow. It's an enjoyable listen and I'd recommend it for fans of college sports whether you're betting or not. 6. SEC heavy - I really enjoy Josh’s passion for the sport and ability to do a one man show and hold interest. My main complaint is that there’s too much focus on the SEC. Not to say the SEC isn’t the best conference and the foundation of the sport but when your recap show is hyper focused on mediocre games featuring SEC teams, it’s not what I’m interested. Good games with good teams from the SEC, sure of course but a game featuring a bad Auburn team getting dragged, I tune out. I guess I can’t blame Josh, SEC fans are the most vocal and bring the most viewership/listens that can insulate from the rest of the country. Josh knows where his bread is buttered. Also seems most of his connection and sourcing around the sport is via SEC personnel. 1. Missed the Mark - I was interested in this podcast as my grandfather was the coach of the Pottsville Maroons. I was curious in what they would have to say about the Maroons, their Championship and how it was taken away from them by the NFL. Finally got to episode and the Maroons were only mentioned in passing as a footnote to in the Red Grange and New York Giants story. The Maroons beat the Chicago Cardinals for the Championship, not mentioned. The game between the Maroons and Notre Dame was scheduled before the season started and agreed to by all teams that the Champion of the NFL would play in that game, not mentioned. It was to be played in Philadelphia (Frankford) because Frankford assumed they would win the Championship, not mentioned. Frankford only scheduled a game so that they could contest the Maroons winning the NFL Championship and illegally played a game in their territory, not mentioned. By the way, it was Pottsville first year in the NFL. In addition, Pottsville beat Notre Dame, which was a key moment in the NFL to legitimize professional football over college football. 3. Good history, but… - I love hearing about the early days of the game. But the format of this isn’t great. The fake broadcasts using current broadcasters is ok but the frequent interjections of splices from interviews that are obviously from random interviews from who knows when or for what doesn’t work for me at all. For example I’m listening to episode as I’m writing this review and they just threw in a random comment from Matthew Stanford’s wife about the life of an nfl wife. I don’t care what her story is, I want the history of the league. I was optimistic for this podcast, but am disappointed. Guess I will buy a book.

With all the talk of Clemson and FSU carrying % of the viewership and % of the revenue could the playoff expansion offer a compromise? 4. Best national CFB pod out there - Excellent podcast and a must for hardcore CFB fans. Question: when the ACC’s future is discussed, their terrible long-term TV contract is always brought up. Do you have any sense about how much the ACC could command relative to the other conferences if they were able to renegotiate their deal? Would they be closer to the SEC and Big Ten or the Big /Pac ? 2. The NFL Draft Fix You Needed - After PFF moved on from for Drafts because Austin Gale left for the Ringer, a gaping hole in meaningful and analytical NFL Draft content became available. With the First Pick fills that void nicely with the knowledgable and social Ryan Wilson. CBS got a big name in Rick Spielman, but he's a bit coarse to his co-host and not the most conversational. It seems to be his way or the highway, and Ryan does a nice job rolling with his punches. However, it makes a very informative podcast a little uncomfortable a couple of times each episode. This has all the makings of a -star podcast and is produced very well. Rick's shenanigans bring it down a touch for me. Enjoy the listen and highly recommend though! Great work Ryan.

8. Bears precedent - The Bears ironically set a precedent in trading up slot with the ers to draft a QB. In that trade they lost by points, based on the draft value chart. With that in mind How does it look in this years draft if the Bears trade slot down with Houston? I’m expecting the Bears to be major deal makers in the draft. Negative Takes Every Week - When I first started listening, I thought, “Man, it’s kinda refreshing to hear objective, sometimes critical views of the Vikings.” But episode after episode, Coller shows little to no positivity about the Vikings. The Vikings keep winning and Coller keeps criticizing. You’d honestly think he’s a closeted Packers fan. It’s more about the mistakes the other team makes than what the Vikings do to win the game. If you are a Vikings fan that wants real takes, positive and critical, Purple Daily is much better than this podcast. PD will actually give the Vikings credit where credits is due. Matthew does a great job bringing in guests and “experts” that dive into different facets of the game and team, which ultimately make me feel more informed about a sport I love. 6. Cheers to Power Auer - I’m giving this feed stars purely because I love Power Auer. The actual Andy Staples show could be a great listen if they got rid of Ari as a cohost. I don’t even care about his bad takes. Those I could handle, but this man is dull and smug, and I don’t like listening to dull and smug podcasters. Again, Power Auer is amazing though. Give it its own feed like it deserves.

I had a thought the other day, with coaches buyouts getting so extreme - at what point does it become a better ROI for schools and boosters to NOT fire and buy out a coach, and instead repurpose those funds for a few massive NIL classes for or more years to see if they can right the ship?

8. The Best - Andy and Ari are always entertaining. Love their dialog. Ari could stand to learn a little more about the SEC but otherwise no complaints. Of course, guess I could stand to learn more about the PAC. Anyway, for my money Andy is the best national writer/commentator in the business. Love his football and food takes. Keep it up, gentlemen!
