1. I totally love it! From: Kara R. - I totally love this book! My friend introduce this to me before summer! I have read it begin to end! It so inspiring! And I have trouble focusing, so I spent more time reading than designing new design for my company! Hope my boss aren't reading this! Oh well, but honestly, I love it!

2. Sadako and the thousand paper cranes - This is one of the most beautiful and sad stories I have read. There is too much war in our world and beautiful people like Sadako are hurt because of it. I am so grateful her story wasn't lost and her memory will live on forever. Read this with your children and inspire them to pray for peace.

1. Dear pup and dog lover, - There are I survived books with girls in them, like the bear attacks of, ? I think? And also the are others. Lauren Tarshis actually said that the reason that a lot of the books have boys is because she’s a mother of boys. She has done quite a few with girls which are just as good as the boys. Hope this helped! MagnoliaHeart of the DewClan

1. HowIsThisPossible - This is the ONLY book I actually enjoyed reading for school. And this is coming for a football kid. Not a book nerd. And I WAS NOT bored in any part. (Expect the first three chapters).
I wish people made more books like this. The only bad thing was it’s slight depression and that it could of had a five star ending when it was only star ending . Thx for reading.

1. Love this! - So I read this for school, and loved it. The author is insanely talented and deserves all the credit here. Sadly, I have to talk about the book instead of her awesome talents. I loved it. When you finish you’ll say: “Best book ever!” I couldn’t stop reading it! But please make a rd book.

It will Make your soul jump with excitement. Yes it can be depressing at time but Ada just walks on. She is a very powerful little year old. This book is Astonishing. xXlonely SpAce BeArXx

3. All Life - Having a clubfoot and a mean mom who won’t let you leave the house when a nice person does all different things. Well this book is life. Parents are mean and children get injured. Some parents are nice and teach you responsibility and respect. Ada Smith is years old and lives with her brother Jamie and mean mam. Ada’s mom calls her a cripple, and the words “Nobbut a monster, with that ugly foot.”’those words mam said push Ada and her perseverance. Ada does try walking on her own but she gets blood all over the place. Later she gets carried to the train by Stephen White, Billy’s brother. Ada and Jamie are placed a lady named Susan Smith, who teaches them manners, buys clothes, and teaches Ada to ride Butter, the horse of Becky. I love this book and you will too! ( IT IS LIFE )

4. So appropriate for all of the main characters...Susan, Ada, Jamie and others. - So many thoughts...”That war brought people to an awareness of so many social injustices, treatment of the handicapped, children, girls, education, class distinction and the author was able to weave them all into a story that pricks the conscience and makes us want to right the wrongs and be the best people we can be...

5. My favourite book ever - A few years ago, I started to read this book, and was unable to finish it. I believe I left myself at chapter . I later began to read this book again and found that it has more meaning and depth to it than when I first read the book. The book tells a story about a little girl who was abused by her mother. While her younger brother was loved. When a war came along and she left with other evacuees, she became a whole new person. And learns what it means to be loved. It tells an important perspective, and it left me in tears of joy in the end.

6. Cried like baby towards ending - This was a book assigned to my class as an assignment, but oh my god! It was amazing! What a book!!! It was hard to put down, you have to finish it, start to finish. My eyes are so swollen writing this because this book is so heart-wrenching. Must-read!
Great book to read together with your kids (maybe a in the double digits bc it gets a little crazy).

7. Indescribable - This book was so good it’s unbelievable, indescribable so inspiring but so sad. Almost made me cry(and I never cry at these type of things) and I really connected with this book because she has issues with her foot and so do I. I had to get surgery on my foot and it has been a painful experience(and I’m only half way through it!) And when I read this it was before the surgery so I could feel the same pain that she was feeling in her foot. It’s just simply amazing I can’t even describe it. It’s just simply indescribable.

8. Good towards the end - This book was just okay. In the beginning it was pretty bad. Later on the bad turned into a plain meh. But at the end, at around page it became amazing. A little side note , I would not recommend reading on your on time. I had to read this book for summer homework so it was not my choice. But overall it’s an okay book. It will leave you with an awesome felling at he end , guaranteed.

9. I Have No Words - This is truly a beautiful, heartbreaking, joyful, and emotional novel. Sad, happy, and so many more emotions passed through me as I read this book and I even cried in the ending. Addicting as it is, I would recommend this to anyone and everyone I know. The characters are so true as they come to life, word by word, page by page. I really do LOVE this novel.

10. I have not read it yet - I personally have not read this book yet. Though I can not wait to read it! I'm gonna have to read it for Battle Of The Books and I am very happy about the books that they have chosen. Right now I am reading a book called "Echo" and next I will for sure read this book! All the reviews seem amazing so, seriously I can't wait to read it!!!! :)

11. The War That Saved My Life - I'm reading this for Battle of the Books, and it's AMAZING. Usually, I only read books in a series like Harry Potter, Divergent, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, Selection, Unwind and of course Game of Thrones. This is an exception. Not too much of a surprise, though. I like books with this kind of storyline.

1. First Magic Tree House I ever read - This is the first Magic Tree House book I ever read. I read it in paperback and now I have the iBook. I read this book and love it because it is about the Titanic, which I first learned about in kindergarten and is my favorite shipwreck. Jack and Annie have lots of fun adventures, and Annie is even the same age as me. You should try this book, it's great.

1. WOW!! - So I wasn't sure if I would like this book, but my teacher gave it to me and said "Read this!" I loved this book SOOOOO much! There were so many parts I felt bad for him, and I had to tell myself it was fiction not real. The ending though!! It was just like "alright it's over now" and I was like "IS THERE A SEQUEL PLEASE LET THERE BE A SEQUEL!!!" But there's not :(. It was epic otherwise!!

1. Better than I expected - So when I first read this book I was on my schools battle of the books team and it was on the list. Another kid said it was boring so I decided to read that one last. It was awesome. Maybe I am just a nerd (that is true btw) but it was great. I loved the adoption theory, and Samuels clever nicknames for the wealthy men. It depicted real life struggles that the settlers endured and as far as I can tell Elisa Carbone didn’t sugarcoat it. I was amazing. Oh and I would like to say that some of these reviews are pretty messed up. Like weird. And inappropriate-ish.

2. The blood on the river review - So first off, I'm reading this book in school and usually books we read are boring. I have to say it is interesting but isn't that "poping". I also don't see how the title goes with the book; but that's not the point. Some points in the book are confusing like who is who or what time period it is. That's all I have to say about the book. Don't take my word, though, I hate to be disrespectful.

3. Great story - I teach fifth grade and my students LOVE this book. It presents typically dry, dull history in a way that is approachable and engaging and paints a vivid picture of settlement life. They would literally yell for me to keep reading at the end of every chapter. Highly recommended historical fiction!

4. Amazing! - My th grade son was assigned this as summer reading and, as I (like Captain Smith) will not send people where I am unwilling to lead, took it upon myself to read this book, as i have so many others over the course of my children's schooling. By chapter six, I was hooked. And, began to relate to the hardships that my family's own ancestors that have likewise been here since the early th century (they settled in New England), must have faced. We have so much in this st century world of ours that we take for granted. It is extraordinarily important that we never lose sight of the sacrifices and hardships of those that came before us, nor respect for the native peoples that for , years held dominion and harmony with this land we now call home. This book does an amazing job of placing both worlds in their proper context, and causes one to wonder what would have become of this world if Powhatan had succeeded in repelling the European invasion of his ancestral land. One can only wonder...

1. Get it if you can - When Jack and Annie went to the tree house in Frog Creek Woods, they found a special writing on the floor of the tree house. The special writing said, "Camelot is in trouble." It listed four clues. The magic tree house took them to the Civil War. When they got there, they found field hospitals. Annie said, "May we volunteer?" The nurse said, "Are you sure? It's a big job." I liked the book because it reminded me about my grandpa when he was in the Navy. I learned the Civil War was the bloodiest war in America. I learned that the Union had states and the Confederates had states. I think my friends would like to read this book because maybe they could learn important things about the Civil War like I did. Both boys and girls would probably like this book. When the book was over, I wanted to read more about the Civil War. By Eliot age

1. LITERALLY AMAZING!!! - Love this book so much! I will agree at first it is a tiny bit boring but after the first couple pages you will NOT be able to put it down!! My new fav book! What it’s about (It’s about this girl who lives on cuttyhunk (an island). And people think she has leprosy because of where they think she was born. And she washed up on the island when she was hours old and had a note and a ring on her chest. And she lives with one of the people on the island which she calls Osh and as well as her neighbor Ms Maggie. And she’s trying to find who her family is. It’s plot twist after plot twist. ITS AMAZING!!!!) There’s way more to it but I don’t wanna spoil it

2. Bland - This book is interesting at first. It has the setup to be a great book but the plot crumbles. The same so called villain has a weak motive and the whole reason that he is in the book is just plain boring and over used. The characters lacked depth and real/raw emotion. I didn’t feel connected to the characters and the story was bland. The largest event was small and relatively boring. The main conflict was solved with almost no struggle.

1. Top three favorite books - This book is AMAZING! It’s such a great way to teach learners from nine to seventy four what it was like in the work camps especially having the main character beUkrainian or soviet in the work camps gives a better understanding of how brutal it was. I also love the background I love the plot I love the characters and their bravery I love everything about it. Fabulous job

2. This book is amazing - All stars! I love it so much! It’s my favorite book now. It has such an interesting and attention-catching way of teaching about history. I think there should be a sequel about what happens after that. I agree that Larissa, Lida, and Luka should all meet each other. This book will keep you on your toes. If you’re considering not reading it, don’t even think twice about that option! It will be the most amazing, fun, adventurous, and historical book you’ve ever read. A lot of wonderful things in this book will just make your heart melt.(SPOILER KIND OF AHEAD ) I have to admit, I did ship Lida and Luka. They are sister an brother to each other, but I really did ship them. Love the book overall! One hundred percent recommend!!!!!

1. Black Duck - I've read this book twice in different schools! Which means I've read it times!!! And I learned that this book is pretty famous! It was super confusing for me when I read it the first time and I decided to never read it but in my other school we had to read it again and after reading it the second time I started understanding little by little and then reading it the third and fourth time I started loving it! But now I forgot a bit of it lol but I thought it was pretty interesting when I read it the third time! After reading it the eighth time I knew it's one of my favorite books now but I also learned that if we don't understand something the first time, try doing it again and again until u get it and if u still don't get it then just move on Cuz you have no other option! But you'll love it if u pay attention or read it deeply !! So good luck to everyone reading it out there!
