1. WEEEEE!!! - I HAVE BEEN A PROUD DEDICATED AND CERTIFIED FAN OF TROLLS AND BROPPY SINCE !!! I also waited four years for TWT just to have Branch and Poppy to HIGH FIVE!! However the editor of the movie confirms that they kiss after the high five. If you pause and squint REALLY well, you can see that Poppy grabs Branch by the shoulders and kisses him on the lips. Let’s just hope that in Trollstopia we get a VISIBLE KISS! Also I want a Valentine’s Day episode for Broppy and Barb asks Branch and poppy to help her ask Riff to be her dare to the Valentine’s dance and she also has a crush on him and she confesses and they get married and Riff takes over for Thrash and become KING RIFF OF THE HARD ROCK TROLLS AND THEY HAVE TWIN AND RIFF WALKS AROUND WEARING A CROWD WITH SPIKES AND BONES AND HE HAS TO METALLIC BLACK EGGS IN HIS HAIR AND THEY BOTH HAVE BLACK TUFFS OF HAIR ON TOP and they aren’t gonna go that far so I will just stop- BROPPY IS AMAZING!!
WANILLO (Wani x Tresillo)
HELTA (Hickory x Delta)
BRIFF (Barb x Riff) PARB( Poppy x Barb) IS % DISGUSTING!! Not because it’s LGBTQ, but because POPPY IS ALREADY TAKING BY BRANCH!! PARB IS UGLY AND NASTY IF YOU SHIP IT YOU DESERVE TO DIE!!!

1. Al Greene crossed the line. - AL Greene crossed the color line back in the 's.
His music transcended the racial lines that had been in place for way too long. In my highschool days I can clearly remember listening to him on double dates in the back seat of my buddy's Ford Mustang... "Here I am baby". This is what real music was, and how it should be today. Rappers, are you listening???

2. Classic funk and soul is all you need to know - I have to admit, I picked this up on vinyl with the idea of flipping it. But after I sampled some of these tunes here, this is definitely a keeper. You will definitely recognize these songs. I remember some of them from when I was very young and I guess an earlier generation would consider these essential. I can hardly believe I never owned this before now. If you're into that old funk and soul stuff, you need this.

1. TEMS: THE JOURNEY SEEKING HER HUMANITY - I first heard of the unique voice of Nigerian-born singer Tems after listening to her feature on WizKid’s album, Made in Lagos. In the song Essence, Tems is the first lyric of English we hear, a deep and hearty voice entering the song with force and intention. After hearing the song several times and quite easily dominating as my favorite song on the album, I decided to research more about this up-and-coming artist. According to her biography, Tems (full name is Temilade Openiyi) grew up in a family that prioritized education, with that taking precedent as the only route for true upward mobility. After making efforts to purposely miss enrollment and deadlines, her mother forced her to attend university in South Africa. It was then at school that she was inspired to write the song Try Me, a song of pain, sorrow, and determination involving a “destructive love”. Through further research, I was led to her latest EP released in entitled For Broken Ears. This analysis will further look into the background of such a symbolic EP and how it pertains to better understand the identities and signifiers within the African Diaspora. In an interview with Atwood Magazine, Tems says she commemorates her EP for those who have “hard hearts that are about to turn into stone; people that forget they’re human.” With her voice and her stylistic features, she pieces the EP to guide healing and support for her listeners. This method of healing for those not being seen or understood or visible is one of the first key themes that allow individuals, typically about communities of color, to see themselves. We can argue that during her painful time at university, she was placed in her own Panopticon, a space of surveillance through the lens of a disciplinarian power (that is furthermore surveilled by her mother and others to be the best student) and disciplined enough to reach her greatest potential. Through navigating school, she was able to be released from her hypervisibility to allow the future listeners of her music to truly be seen and visible as well. In other words, when she was freely able to focus on her music, she was also able to challenge how her identity is viewed through the lens of white supremacy. Perhaps she felt as if she was not a human being forced to attend school, and cultivated a piece for those experiencing similar forms of hypervisibility. Although her entire EP touches on this concept, we can see it vividly through Free Mind on the EP: And behind my mind, it runs
All these thoughts have troubled me
Fighting to give up my pain
Fighting to be on my lane
My mind running to the other side
When it's time to live my life
Then it tries to take me out
Tell you what I need right here Here we can see how she is pleading to be released from her hypervisibility, to be her person in her own lane. She follows this pattern of recounting her pains and hurt to help others, and inevitably, seek new healing for herself. She further confirms this claim by admitting that this EP has discovered what she has been through and a newfound perspective within her life. In regards to the more internal logistics of her EP, Tems serves as the lead producer and songwriter. According to interviews, self-producing further allowed her to express herself deeper, and personally connect to her songs and their meanings. Other producers mentioned in her EP include Omeiza, Oddio, and Spax. Through deeper research, all producers have symbolic names and meanings tied to the Nigerian Diaspora. Spax is a household name in Nigeria. Omeiza is also derived from an African origin, meaning “someone that gives freely.” This UK Afrobeat music producer was likely the mastermind behind much of Tems’ unique sounds on the EP. I argue that through his contributions, he too allowed for listeners to be free through his namesake of giving freely. Finally, Oddio is a duo production team composed of Tejiri Akpoghene and David Owolabi. All producers mentioned have some sort of personal connection to the Nigerian influence and perhaps, can further contend to the feelings that Tems carefully place throughout her EP. Needless to say, Tems has a voice like none other. She is not a Nigerian utilizing Afrobeats, but a charismatic and unapologetic soul geared to help and heal other souls that share similar experiences. While some songs on the EP have music videos, the EP is descriptive enough in its words and flow. And although this granted her a perspective on her life, it also released a gateway for Black listeners like myself and served as a method to seek my own humanity.

2. ONE OF THE UNIQUEST VOICES IVE EVER HEARD !!! woww - the first time i heard Tems was a few months ago and i was blown away by her voice nobody sounds like her at all . its authentic, honest, open, relaxing, relatable and crazy different !! i was in the car listening to free mind today and i was so excited and hyped !! The World needs Tems !! lol forral cant wait to hear more

3. Solid Debut - Where do I even begin? The songwriting, production, and vocal arrangement are amazing! Tems has such a distinct and unique voice that makes you really feel what she is singing. I have never been this excited about a new artist as I am with Tems, and I look forward to see how her artistry will continue to evolve as time goes on. However, it is clear that Tems is here to stay. My favorite song on this Ep is ‘Free Mind’, I have literally played the song at least times!!

1. Wow! - Finally, some new music, I can honestly say I like and I can get into. I’ll admit I don’t know who this guy is, but if I didn’t know any better, I could have sworn it was Marvin Gaye singing. I am a little worried though to see that he is signed to death row, I really hope they don’t ruin him.

1. Old School Music!! - Anit just takes you back to hat time when you had to have talent!! Her music is just up and in your face contact. She brings out the best in everything that she sings. This album is just what it should be, the "Let me take you back to that time album". Hats off to Anita Baker for all that she has given to us throught her voice and music!!! Five Stars, all the way through for this album!!

2. This is great collection of her hits for die hard fans - , but if you're a casual fan who wants the full or unedited version of classics (like Compositions' grand gem of a jam like "Fairy Tales") then this is not it. I gave it a full rating because sometimes I want to hear her hits as they were played during a "quiet storm" radio slot. With that said this is a true very best collection and I like having it for those times when I don't want to (or don't have time) to listen to all her albums. Yes, I have playlists but it contains songs not on here that were not released like "Been So Long" which I have loved even more since hearing her band warm up to it live before a show (wow what true magic that was). I wish there were more live albums of her shows for every album; there is no matching her live virtuoso of singing with her band slyly making changes to a song. I believe this is for die hard fans or fans of the radio days. It is a good thing that this exists, but Arista needs to release an album version of her hits. It is great that some can just download a song instead of the whole album and even better if you know how to use iTunes sorting (for The Winans track, I just put Anita Baker as Album artist and as I keep my Library either to date added or sort by album artist I can browse and find the whole collection even on my devises).

3. Soul Therapist - As a behavior health therapist many times I suggest tools & skills that will assist the whole person in becoming aware and cognizant of the greater things within them. Anita Baker & her incomparable voice does it for me! She’s evidence that skills & tools don’t necessarily have to come from a text book, but that they already live deep inside of us waiting to be used and so kindly passed down to help the next person discover theirs! THANK YOU ANITA, for your internal AND external beauty and for always giving us the best that you’ve got!!

4. No one can compare - Can this get any better? I say no. There is no one who can compare to Anita Baker’s beautiful voice that make her love songs come alive and make you feel every emotion in her lyrics.
My favorite is I apologize as she makes this real life scenario that we all have at some time in our lives or another, regret what we do and we say to our love ones.
It brings me joy each and every time I listen to this album.

5. LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Her music is timeless! As I already knew Ms. Baker’s voice is amazing! She captures so much passion and emotion in her delivery. You can feel every song as if she was in the same room singing them to you! Glad I now have a digital copy of her magnificence!!

6. Rapture and.....Best of... - Bammm! And I thought maybe I was just thinking my memory was nostalgically exaggerating how good she is. She's even better! Anita please, please make more. The simple beauty and purity of her style is unmatched. After all these years she still moves me has confirmed once again that truly good music is indeed timeless. Thank you!!

7. Anita- you are truly a gem - Her songs and voice take me back about years and they are timeless. She comes from a time where it was not about the clothes, the drama, the props, the reality shows, etc. IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC AND THE VOICE. She did not distract from her beautiful voice. I wish we had more like her around. Anita- we value you even more now. DANCING SLOW SONGS IS A THING OF THE PAST AND I FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE THAT HAS NOT EXPERIENCED IT.

1. I definitely love this compilation but I gave it a one start rating for other reasons. - I purchased this album for $. a week ago. However it never showed up in my iTunes music purchases. I don’t know if the reason that I didn’t see it in my iTunes music is because this album is under Apple Music. I tell Apple Support the same thing and they try to assist me with this issue. I definitely am afraid to repurchase it again for fear that I will not get the album.

2. Great Lost s Tina - Although most people primarily remember “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, this album is full of great radio hits that showcase her emotional range. Some personal favorites include the melancholy but soulful “Private Dancer” , “Typical Male" and “Thunderdome” (the ultimate movie rock anthem). I also loved her duet with Bryan Adams “It’s Only Love”. and the Grammy winning “Better Be Good to Me” and remember her video in which she gives the kiss off to another s band The Fixx. They don’t come any tougher or any sweeter.

3. Better Be Good To Me - Paul Rudd sang this on Jimmy Fallon & I had never heard this song before so to see a skinny white dude channel Tina Turner was amazing. Tina Thanks for being the woman you are, choosing to be your own woman, Buddism & for keeping it classy. Great song, its worth listening to a few times.

1. Soul Food - I was introduced to Sade by way of this creation and she won me over as a fan right away. Rock/Metal/Hardcore is and always will be my go to when it comes to music so I guess Sade would be what's called my guilty pleasure. I love anything that feeds my soul and she is an all you can eat buffet. Her voice has few equals in a world of vocal giants.

2. Goddess - Simply one of the greatest albums of all time. A continuing epic of British invasion. Hand it to the Brits - they make the world's best music. The band is superb, the writing is stellar, the music is pure magic, and Sade Adu is no less than one of the sexiest women who have ever walked this earth. Perhaps the best album of the 's. If ya don't have this for your romantic moments, you're missing something.

3. Soothes the soul... - I'm a huge extreme metal fan who listens to music that would make an ordianary person cringe in disgust. However, I grew up with family members who loved Sade and eventually I did to too! I think this is by far the best Sade album--it's so consistent and so serene. The song "I Couldn't Love You More" is deeply romantic and hypnotizing! She truly is a legend...

4. Simply - the - BEST - I bought Love Deluxe the week it was released in and I still listen to "No Ordinary Love" at least once a day. This CD belongs in a class by itself. I can't imagine not ever having a copy of this recording. Simply the most beautiful and captivating female singing voice I've ever heard. I always come back to Sade. If you have only one RB recording in your library - this - is - the - ONE.

5. LET - I OWNED "DIAMOND LIFE", "PROMISE" AND "STRONGER THAN PRIDE" FOR YEARS BEFORE THE RELEASE OF "LOVE DELUXE" USHERING LYRICS SUCH AS: "YOUR RULING THE WAY THAT MOVE AND I BREATHE YOUR AIR, YOU ONLY CAN RESCUE ME, THIS IS MY PRAYER" "I WAS SO IN LOVE WITH YOU, YOU RARELY SEE A LOVE THAT TRUE, WASN'T THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU, WASN'T THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU" "I GAVE YOU ALL THE LOVE I GOT I GAVE YOU ALL THAT I CAN GIVE, GAVE YOU LOVE, I GAVE YOU ALL I HAVE INSIDE THEN YOU TOOK MY LOVE, TOOK MY LOVE" "HE TOLD ME SWEET LIES OF SWEET LOVES HEAVY WITH THE BURDEN ON THE TRUTH, HE SPOKE OF HIS DREAMS BROKEN BY HIS BURDEN, BROKEN BY THE BURDEN OF HIS YOUTH... SADE SOLIDIFIED HERSELF AS ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FEMALE MUSIC ARTISTS WHEN THIS CD, CAME OUT...I WAS BLOWN TO SMITHEREENS BY "NO ORDINARY LOVE", BUT WHEN I HEARD "BULLETPROOF SOUL", "CHERISH THE DAY" AND "TATTOO", MY HEART WAS INSTANTLY BELONGING TO THIS NIGERIAN BORN MUSICAL GODDESS, WHO REFUSED TO SELL HER "SOUL" TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER FOR FAME AND NOTORIETY...SADE IS DEFINATELY THE FEMALE VERSION OF THE LATE GREAT IMPECCABLE MR. MARVIN GAYE!!!
2010-02-12
6. Hypnotic - I must admit that I'm typically not a fan of many female vocalists. With that being said, when I first listened to this release in the early 's I was mesmerized. The songs seemed to grab hold of my soul and transport me to a different world. This is coming from a guy who typically listens to hard rock and heavy metal music. This release literally puts me into a trance. Even when I listen it today it seems to take me to another place and time. There is something truly magical about Sade's voice and music...The sultry and velvety sound of her voice is like a drug. Truly angelic.

7. Buy this, not the greatest hits.. - While it's $. right now and great value, the greatest hits does rather leave you dodging the s pop. When Sade realized her talent lay in a quiet and dark place, she wrote some beautiful songs and this album is the best collection. Every second of it is perfect. A perfect album is so rare, even from the acts that you really like. There's always a bum note, always a filler track. But there isn't one here. Make love to it, lose love to it. Whatever. But you've got to own it.
2010-01-19
8. Smooth Personified - I don't know how anyone could listen to Sade and not be instantly "chilled". The woman has amazing vocals with the power to create the sexiest of sexy moods. Her background vocalist LeRoy Osborne must have been born to compliment Sade. Their harmonious pairing on Bulletproof Soul leaves me breathless and hanging on a precipice for more! Sade and Osborne vocals, along with the arrangement genius…feels like skin against silk….a little decadent and naughty! This is what a band should do…MAKE good music! There is nothing trendy or short sighted about Sade! I got to experience Sade first hand and years later her music can STILL weave magic. There are very few songs that I can listen to from the ’s and ’s that don’t scream “I’m from the ’s and ’s!” But Sade’s music is timeless. All of her music sounds as relevant now as it did when she released during the ’s and ’s. Love Deluxe just is insane with smooth-out tracks you can help but walk away from this album feeling a little more sexy and grown!

9. INCOMPARABLE!!!!! - I am sitting here listening to this album that I first bought in and it is still as timeless as the first time I removed the shrink wrap. Every single song is as fresh and alive to me as when I was listening to this in college. The movie is now long and gone which drew interest to this album but this album has long since surpassed any of what that movie conveyed. Nine perfect pieces of music; no more no less. I am still in awe and wish for more new music.
2009-05-03
10. Love Sade!!! - I think this album was the first CD I ever bought, and it was definitely a great buy. I have listened to it over and over and still love it as much today as when I bought it... I don't know how long ago. :) Her voice is beautiful, and there are so many great songs on this album, but I think "Pearls" is my favorite, so haunting and sad.
2009-04-20
11. Sade is the Greatest of ALL times - For this genre of music, Sade is the best who ever did it. I have all her albums. I put my review on this album because I love the song "Kiss of Life." But she has many hot songs from different albums ("smooth operator", "keep looking", "tar baby", etc). I had to give her stars for creativity, songwriting, great melodies, composition, awesome band, funky bass guitar, beautiful and classy lead singer. She's what today's R&B/neo-soul artist should aspire to, but don't. She is absolutely AWESOME.

1. Frank T. - Luther (Lufa) Vandross delighted my ears with his silky smooth soulful voice which was accompanied by a unique musical sound unique to only him. No matter what time of the day it was you always had the urge to turn the volume up on the first note and just sing along. The words were so tantalizingly romantic that his tracks just had to be in your repartore of music. This CD is a must for all of his fans.

1. Defines the summers of my childhood and sounds better than the vinyl - My father bought this exact album probably when he got out of the Navy in . At some point in the 's, he gave me all his records and this one stuck out as a summertime favorite. "Stand", "Fun", "Hot Fun in the Summertime", "Thank you Falettinme Be Mice Elf Again". In the mid-'s, I was into transcribing all my favorite records to digital via the flattest, most faithful transfer methods I could afford. Because I used to always listen to the older records on a BSR changer, I made the transfer of this album via that turntable with a ceramic needle. Not sure about the curve on the pre-amp, but I think it was standard RIAA. Anyway, the turntable apparently ran a bit fast and the tone was off. I've heard of certain releases containing encoded quad and other technologies as well, so not sure if this was the issue. Upon downloading on iTunes, I'm really enjoying hearing these tracks as they were meant to be.

2. Greatest Funk Album of All Times - Sly and the Family Stone had the as James Brown called it. He stole the show at Woodstock. He was the show when ever they got it together to play. Are there any better songs than I want to take you higher or Dance to the Music??? We waited for them to play one time at the Spectrum in Philly for minutes. It was worth every minute. This album captures that magic. -- enjoy!!

3. Dance to the Music! - Man, music don't get much better than this! People just don't make music with their souls anymore. Buy the entire album, because every tracks great but the Amazing songs are: Dance to the Music, Everbody is a Star,Stand!,I Want to Take it you Higher, Hot Fun in the Summertime, and Thank You (Falletinme Be Mice Elf Agin)! If you don't already have this masterpiece, buy it now! I highly recomend!!!

4. A true pioneer whom so many great artists of the last years are indebted too - He's fragile, funky, loose, funny, and torn. He's at war with himself. He aims for good but there's a streak of melancholy that always rears it's head in his music. I love him the way I love Edward Scissorhands, Tony Montana, and Shaft.

1. The Best Compilation Ever - Sade is an amazing artist. Her voice is hauntingly beautiful. Her songs are classic. She doesn't release music often but when she does it is always welcome and great. This cd has all of her greatest tracks (and not just the greatest hits). Listen to the track "The Sweetest Gift," it exemplifies Sade's music. She doesn't need vocal acrobatics or anything synthesized just her voice and minimal instrumental accompaniment. This is definitely deserves to be in your music collection. As an aside...I'm shocked there aren't more reviews of this!!

1. My favorite R&B artist :) - I love Sam Cooke’s music. It’s is so soothing. I came to listen to this when I heard a podcast and Journey’s Steve Perry said he was driving in the car one morning to the beach with his mom when he was ( I think ) and Cupid came on the radio and he said that at that moment he knew he wanted to be a singer, and look what he became now. My favorites are Cupid and what a wonderful world but I love the others as well. So sad that he died . I am so this also helped me through stuff like another years old reviewer said ( Seth Kea). I’m being honest, I usually listen to ’s hard rock but this is good stuff and he is really honestly the only jazz artist I listen to bc he is that good.

2. Essential and Legendary - What this man did for R&B and Soul music cannot be overstated, and This is a wonderful collection of beautiful songs sung perfectly by him His voice was one of a kind; still is. His passing tragic, music timeless. This is the stuff that will be here long after much is forgotten. If any of this sounds up your alley, check it out. I can’t imagine how someone who enjoys this (or any) type of music could not fall in love immediately. His effortless charm from the first words on track are sure to draw in anyone with a heart.

1. Naughty - The TRUE "very best" of Chaka Khan is the release of "Naughty" (which features the song Papillion contained in this "collection"). If you want to experience the TRUE Chaka Khan surrounded by the best session musicians available on this planet earth (including Ashford and Simpson input), track down the Naughty album in whatever format. I was only but had to have it. It's one of those pieces of ART you literally wore out on vinyl, threw the warbled/mangled cassette tape out of your car window.......then found the only CD release as only a Japanese import (but well worth the price). I knew Chaka from Rufus, not from "I Feel For You". Read her comment of when she first heard the remix of that song. She said she was "embarrassed" of the "Cha, Cha, Chaka, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan" intro. On the Naughty album, the intro to "All Night's, All Right" features a true musician in the background saying "Let's Go MF's" with Chaka (more noticeable in the recording) saying "Who said that?". It's raw, it rare, it's the REAL Chaka Khan. "Through The Fire" isn't but she had to make a living too before moving to England to be appreciated without "fickle Americans" (her words).

1. Still sounds good in - I have loved this album since teenage years. I own both the digital and the record versions. The record is missing I’ll be doggone and ain’t that peculiar however the record is still awesome. This collection covers all of Marvin‘s great songs. It’s a must-have for any Motown fan

2. he was amazing - i watched the showtime documentary on motown too and the story of how “what’s going on” came to be made is pretty fantastic. i loved how he would not give up until this song was made exactly how he envisioned it and it is true - and sad too - that the words are just as significant in as they were back then.

3. OH HOW MUCH I MISS MARVIN GAYE! - All through these last years, Marvin Gaye’s music has stood the test of time! I watched the Showtime Documentary called Hitsville, which is about the Motown Machine. It was a wonderful two hour reminiscence down memory lane about the music of my youth! As a child of the sixties: Great Music was like an abundant weed, always growing. While I have grown to love other music, none of it today rivals all these old classics! However, the Best of Motown (sorry Smoky, Supremes & Jackson’s): to me, Marvin Gaye was in a class all his own! Yes, love Stevie too but Marvin Gaye is STILL . You’ll have to go get the other album made under CBS to get Sexual Healing, and no Marvin music is complete without that CLASSIC! However, I downloaded this entire album! Enjoy! (By the way, ignore the sour grapes opinion about the lawsuit his family brought against Pharrell). Pharrell has done great on his own, & MG Family was just protecting Marvin’s legacy! That was an indisputable “influence” which I felt was probably unintentional on Pharrell’s part, & if the shoe was on the other foot, Pharrell’s family would do the same thing! Pharrell does not NEED to copy anyone! But please people, brilliance is brilliance, and Marvin Gaye is and always will be in a class of Masters!! Pharrell too! But don’t convolute business of copyright protection with artistry and/or buying something. I felt called to give an alternative opinion! Marvin Gaye would about now play: “What’s Going On”! Brilliance!!!

4. Just Deleted - I bought Marvin Gaye tunes on iTunes years back. Used to play them at parties. Just deleted them all based on his greedy estate suing Pharrel Williams. Who was Marvin Gaye copying? Please, someone, go and sue Marvin Gaye's estate for Marvin stealing beats, basslines, chords from s artists he never compensated. You reap what you sow.

2. Pure Bliss!!! - This is hands down Jills best album yet. This is one album you can just put in your cd player and let it play from beginning to end. It's melodic, sensual and climatic. Just listen to it when you are with that special person in your life. I guarantee by the end of song ...(no words needed). Bliss!!!! Thank you Jill for doing what you do best. Making beautiful, real, soulful music. This album is a classic.

4. Can I just tell you.... - I'm speechless. I LOVE this album! The first seven songs on the album are so expressive, so powerful, so strong, so melodic. You must buy this album if you don't have it already and support THIS talented sister. Jill Scott is a force to be reckoned with. Her vocal ability and expression combined with her ability to bring words to life leaves one speechless. I've seen her in concert every time she comes to NYC, she is so worth it. Jill, your songs are uplifting, inspirational and yes, TRULY you are the REAL THING! Keep the albums coming.

5. Beautiful Music!!! - Jill Scott has done it again... Her voice is soulful and her lyrics are beautifully written. I can listen to this CD for hours on end. My favorites include: Whenever your around, Wanna be loved, Crown Royal (wish it were longer), and Hate on me. Jill is a great talent; one R&B has been missing for awhile. Keep inspiring us Jill!!!

6. OMG-Jill Scott has Arrived - I think it's safe to say that this was one of the best albums of the year. I love this album and the fact that you can actually feel the emotions in the music. The lyrics are always relevant and I never feel like she put words in to fill in the gaps. And there's always one little thing about each song that gets stuck in my head whether it's the background vocals of "Insomnia" or the drums that open "Whenever You're Around". Scott is a wonderful and creative artist with a voice that can't be matched. This is truly good music that you have to buy! Great Job Jill!!!

7. Jill is the Truth - This is one talented songstress who always gives me jazz, sexy, melody, and hip hop all in one. A blend of only the finest. Feeling like you need a pickup: "Hate on Me". Need Sexy: "Epiphany". (beautiful poetry). My favorite is: "Whenever You're Around". She's so real and is the Truth. I've been a fan since Words and Sounds Vol.. Love her!!!

10. This album is "the real thing"! - Jill Scott is the real deal. She has perfected R&B/soul since . This is her latest album, and it seemed as though her albums have been improving each time. I didn't exactly like Hate On Me, because it is kind of bland. My Love is probably my favorite on here, along with Crown Royal and Breathe. This is a great album to try.

1. Beggers Delight! (lol) - Keith Sweat has one of those voices that catches your attention. He's a great performer mostly known for his begging ways. One of my early memories of Keith was when he had a cameo in the movie New Jack City and he was signing (There You Go) Tellin' Me No Again. The song is about a woman who he's trying to be with and she keeps saying she isn't ready. This is being played at a wedding during the movie... I just found it funny really. Seriously though, get this album. You can play it all the way through

1. iTunes Review Is Faulty - Philippe Wynne, according to the iTunes review, sang lead on Games People Play, I’ll Be Around, and Could It Be I’m Falling in Love. In reality, he sang lead on NONE of these, Bobby Smith did. Bobby Smith sang lead on pretty much everything except One of a Kind Love Affair and Rubberband Man. How about finally giving Bobby Smith some love after all these years?

1. Mr. Withers, you have a gift. - The business side of music hasn't always been kind to you (so I've read), and you've walked away from it. Understandably so. What I want to say is "thank you" - for putting up with users, with prejudice, with stupidity, and giving all of us something of yourself. Your music is heartfelt. It's a gift. And it is truly beautiful.

1. Throwback! A must Have! - I remember being about years old at the family parties and everybody dancing and us kids be in the back room peaking out watching the party. Then, they would call us to come dance. Thats how i know all the ol skool jamz! Those were they days. I'm now and this is my favorite album of all times!

2. One of my All Time Favorites! - During the summer of , I drove around in a Buick Century with a -track tape player (not an track but a track) and bought this tape on a recommendation of an older friend who was responsible for making me a major music lover. This collections was fabulous! There is no way to explain the experiences I had that summer without a reflection of this as being the soundtrack for my summer. The album still ranks today as one of my top of all time. If you are unfamiliar with Otis Redding, I would recommend this collection above all others I have heard. Listen to songs like "Try A Little Tenderness", this did a classic build and climax that preceded the song "Stairway To Heaven" by about years and gave anyone who heard it the same feeling. "Dock Of The Bay" released after his death, was his biggest hit, but in my mind every one of these songs are a hit. The Stax Label did not try to be Motown with this artist and it paid off is spades. A unique sound, a unique artist and a great collection of songs makes this album one for the decades.

1. Best Band Ever - Flat out no questions this is one of the best bands ever. Their talent and influence are on par with the Beach Boys and Beatles by way of comparison. Miles Davis, George Clinton, Prince, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, on and on were influenced by Sly. Just listen to the songs. They are not dated and considering when they were done they are well before their time. Some of these songs are more or less american standards at this point (Family Affair, Thank You, etc..) JUST GET THIS!

1. Many years later... still her best - I own six Toni Braxton albums; obviously I am fan. There is always hope for something better, but so far this is still her best effort! That’s not to say I do not like the other albums because I do, but like so many artists Toni was at her best early in her career when she was “hungry” and determined to claim her place in the musical firmament. No sophomore slump here. Secrets is decidedly better than her debut. The only trouble is it set the bar so high that Toni will have a hard time replicating its quality. It has been a pleasure to hear her try over the years, but I keep coming back to Secrets and find it as fresh as the year it was released. That is the mark of a good album. The last song is as strong as the first or any of the singles. Braxton and Babyface are a wonderful combination.

2. Un-Break My Heart - Toni Braxton's mega hit, "Un-Break My Heart" literally goes up there as one of the best songs of all time in any genre. It's such a moving song with a quiet storm feel with an amazing gospel tinged chorus, and with Toni's chilling vocals, it was only obvious when it reached in the United States. It was listed at in the list of the most successful songs in United States history, but it deserved to be in my opinion, and this song will leave behind a legacy as being real music, not manufactured trashy pop hooks. As for the rest of the album, it is just that: real music. Forever a fan, Toni Braxton.

1. jesus Garber - Sly and The Family Stone’s Stand album is a huge classic and must have for your music collection. Every song gives you a real since of what was happening in America at that time. Sly and the Family Stone wanted to bring all people together through their music. If you love great songs and want to get a feel for history, you will love this whole album. Sincerely,, Jesus Garber

2. Kind of sad, really. - I heard a little while back that they found Sly living in a van off of Van Nuys. Makes you wonder about our way of life. His minutes or so of higher in the Woodstock movie was arguebly the most powerful segment of the movie, and then to have fallen so far makes me sad. I wish things like that did not happen.

3. A Call to Action! - I'm an R&B musician. I was years old, on break and standing over the jukebox in a saloon in a sleepy southern town where i was playing.. when I heard Sly's "Sing a Simple Song" for the first time. It was one of those moments when I learned for myself how something can arrive that stands apart from the universe as "I" knew it. Standing there gripping the juke-box a long moment after the song finished, stunned, all I could think was ".. who are these people?!" The sound was a call.. to action, somehow. I didn't know what, but I knew something important had started somewhere "out there" in the world. And I wanted in. I've had a thrilling life you might not believe, that I kind of trace back to that moment. Wow... yehh.

1. I miss the s - There's a reason so many people are nostaligic for that wonderful decade. This sound… the fun… it's just not around in the st century. They're entertainers and they look like they're having a good time. That kind of energy is sorely lacking with today's music. So, I added "Party Train", "You Dropped a Bomb on Me", and "Early in the Moring" to my collection of music. The Gap Band isn't the only musical group that made the s fun, but it wouldn't have been as fun without them. When I see The Gap Band, their smiling is contagious. …and when I play these songs, other people smile too.

1. “If you were here tonight” - It’s really unfortunate that song is unavailable! Why on earth would it be removed?? Oh, I know. Alexander you REMADE IT. Sang it live, and put it on a “live album” to force your listeners to get it there! Artist out there, if you wanna piss off your fan base, do like Alexander did and remove your CLASSIC SONGS. So disappointing!

2. “What’s missing” & “If you were here tonight - Why are these songs not available in our country??? Because those songs are the main reason anyone would want to purchase this album. Thanks to the person above, who purchased the album and didn’t get their songs, they saved me. Get it together Mr. O’Neil.
