1. The “Element” Guys - Thanks for having The Element guys on and bringing them in under the Meateater umbrella so more folks can get to know them and see their stuff. They are good dudes in every sense of the word. Love your philosophy of sharing authentic and passionate folks with others through the platform you have built.

2. More hunting and fishing, less politics - This has always been one of my favorite podcasts, the first one I ever subscribed to. What began as an all encompassing, all are welcome show has been turning into Steve's 'white hot politicial digs'. Sportsman and women come from all angles of life, and while I get that there's lots of lobbying and efforts to change things on both sides of aisle, Steve continues to push his own bias heavier and heavier. I know I'm just one long time listener but I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. I wish Steve would reel it in a bit and stick to the stuff we all want to listen to and not go on the drunken uncle rants or I'll be unsubscribing very soon. We all get that crap forced on us all day long from every angle and just want a good podcast to get lost in, not more opinions and slant. Steve needs to hang out with Rogan a bit less, it's ruining the community feel that an outdoor show should promote and turning it into another hot winded agenda pushing commercial. If I wanted that I'd listen to Uncle Teddy bloviate some word salad, which I refuse to do anymore. What happened to everyone being a part of the outdoor community? Tone it down please.

3. No longer interesting - I agree with other reviewers who have pointed out the decline of this podcast, which is a real shame. They used to present a unique, intellectual perspective on hunting and conservation. Lately, I haven’t been able to get through most episodes because they simply focus on silly, uninteresting topics. Who cares if some guy found a wedding ring that a fish swallowed, or any such inane topics? That is not why this show became popular and I hope they can get back to producing informative, stimulating content before they lose all of their listeners.

4. Good ole Appalachian slang Haha!! - Y’all shouldn’t feel bad. I didn’t know that dry land fish were morels till I competed in the Forestry discipline of Envirothon in high school. I’ve lived on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee all my life. Very few people here know what morels are. Everyone knows what a dry land fish is.

5. Downhill - I used to think this podcast was really good but the quality has continued to degrade. The last episode with Joe Rogan was terrible. Rogan talking about trappers from the 's and now calling himself the modern day equivalent to that; give me a break. These guys have become caricatures of themselves. The content is tired and uncreative; it's come down to Steve constantly interrupting with blowhard non-sequiturs or stupid stories in an effort to capture the pulpit. On the episode with Rogan, I really wanted to hear from the guy with the restaurant but instead it's Steve and Joe just fighting over who can control the microphone. If you are going to listen to this podcast, stick to the older episodes.

6. Steve, chill! - I normally really enjoy this podcast. Been there from the early days. Right now, I’m trying to listen to episode about cooking ducks. But Steve has gone on so many tangents that I hope it is satire. I also have no idea what is going on with the process, in spite of Jesse’s efforts.

7. Really enjoy the adventures, lifestyle, and science! - I don’t listen to many podcasts… but this one is at the top of the list!! I love the outdoors, wildlife, hunting, and fishing. As much as Steve and the crew satisfy these topics, there is so much more. Biology, ecology, and the natural world are just as much a part of the show. A host of distinguished professors, scholars, and experts from every field of natural studies. Dan Flores, Karl Malcolm, Bryan Richards, and many more guests have taken the listener from the early “American Serengeti”, the Pleistocene, China, and every corner of the North American continent. Listen in, for not only a great conversation of hunting, fishing, and eating, but also the exploration and appreciation of our public lands.

8. A great discussion on why YOUR wilderness matters! - John Quincy Adams is to have once said, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." The gentlemen involved in this podcast are most definately inspirational leaders, and you should listen to this podcast so you can understand why that leadership is important and how it relates to you. A fantastic discussion on what wilderness areas are, where they are, and why they are. Most importantly, they clearly state that YOU own them and why it should matter that YOU protect them! To all the participants, thank you for your inspiration, knowledge, motivation and action. I personally appreciate, value and hope to perpetuate those things till the end of my days. Keep up the good fight. Yours truly, Steve Harris

1. Awesome Podcast - Great podcast. I was just introduced to your show by a coworker. I started watching from beginning and its great. I’m from Ohio with southern roots. Everything you guys have talked about has really spoke to me. Thanks for the educational points you put each podcast and the great entertainment also. Thanks Ryan. Also a Great book Clay would enjoy is The Frontiersman. The book is out of print but you might be able to find it on Amazon.

2. "Bear tracks" theme song - I truly appreciate Clay Newcombs views and opinions. Judging from his family and friends I know deep down that he's a good guy. Juju, Gary, clays children, his friends on the render. Really good stuff.
I don't hunt or fish but I love the outdoors and want wildlife to thrive. I know why we want happy hunters. We can make money for conservation and make happy hunters, or we can take tax dollars and pay the state to "try" make things right. I think we should be living in it, loving the land, the resources, and "fruit" that the land provides. I'd have clay at my place in Wautoma WI!
Look it up clay. Heart of white-tail county FOR SURE. You can score a big buck up here in Wes-consin I guarantee!

3. Great work - Clay the pod cast is great. Keep them coming . I really enjoyed the Folsom and Lewis wetzel podcasts. You should do a bear grease episode on Paul Schafer and Bart Schleyer. Paul was a friend of Barry and Gene Wenzel who I consider to be two of the best Whitetail hunter to of lived. Paul was a bowyer and bowhunter from Montana. Bart grew up in Wyoming. Barry said that Paul was probably the greatest bowhunter to ever lived. Paul’s achievements speak for themselves. Bart was a large animal capture specialist by trade and loved bow hunting wild places. Bart started out capturing grizzly bears for research. He eventually got invited to capture tigers for research. Both men lived fascinating lives and were friends.

4. Very heavy on Arkansas and the south - I really like this podcast but it feels like lately it’s focused heavily on Arkansas and the south. I wish Clay would expand and look at stories outside of that region. The stories are still interesting but I found a podcast on why everyone hates Arkansas to be unnecessary.
2023-03-13
5. Tecumseh Pronunciation - During one of the first renders I truly appreciated Misty’s effort when she would reference Tecumseh and make the effort to pronounce his name correctly. I would often replay that moment when I would hear his name during the next episodes. On this last render when talking about the BG Hall of Fame, she talked about as long as y’all would pronounce his name she was good with it. My mind quickly went to song and found myself singing Hey! Teacher! Leave us kids alone! Love the podcast and keep up the great work.

6. Bear Grease Podcast - I really enjoy the work of the podcast. There’s two figures that are very influential and interesting to western US migration that I would enjoy hearing you folks tell the story of if you ever have time to do. One is Orin Porter Rockwell (best know as Porter Rockwell) somewhat of a controversial figure in the eastern US. The other is Joe Meeks (Mountain Man originally served under William Sublet) once known for killing a grizzly bear with a hatchet when his rifle failed to fire. Thank you again for such a great show and keeping it clean.

7. Big Bear of Arkansas - The language of his salutation reminds me of my favorite Jerome K Jerome quote (below). (BTW, if you haven’t read Three Men in a Boat, you should but don’t do it while in a tree stand as you are likely to fall to your untimely demise while laughing). “It must be so. All thoughts that peer outside this narrow world cannot be else than dim and shapeless. The thoughts that we can clearly grasp are very little thoughts--that two and two make four-that when we are hungry it is pleasant to eat--that honesty is the best policy; all greater thoughts are undefined and vast to our poor childish brains. We see but dimly through the mists that roll around our time-girt isle of life, and only hear the distant surging of the great sea beyond.” Jerome K Jerome The Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow

8. The Big Bear part - Clay, I don’t think I’m venturing too far out on a limb when I say that I believe you will mention the Bowie Knife being nicknamed the “Arkansas Toothpick” in coming episodes as you continue to expand on The Big Bear of Arkansas. What I really am curious about is this: Did Thomas Bangs Thorpe use Bowie Knife as the dog’s name, Jim Doggett used to hunt, for a specific purpose? At the very least, I’m sure it just furthered a backwoods persona of Arkansans. But still, curious your thoughts and if it might go further than what I imagine! Thanks for doing Bear Grease. Wednesday mornings are a highlight of my week.

1. Cool guys, mediocre podcast - Interesting guys with cool backgrounds. Unfortunately they hitched their wagons to black rifle coffee, Starbucks with a rugged individualist facade, and they shill for them nonstop. Some episodes have good info or cool stories, others are military bros back-slapping each other or advertisements for their training offerings in podcast form. I can’t blame them for the backslapping, they have impressive backgrounds, but it’s not always good listening for average bros. And knives are awesome, but I can only listen to so many interviews with knife makers. Knives are one of the simplest tools ever created by mankind, how much can you talk about them? They barely talk guns because their other main sponsor is a gun manufacturer, and I assume they want to pretend other brands don’t exist.

2. Cleared field craft hot - Thank you guys even though I’ve heard one or the other first I listen to both even if they are the same go team thank you they remind me of the men I was around when I was a youngster.I’m talking preteen around bush pilots thank you keep up the good work Even as an infant I had to be put in the super cub to fall asleep but as a family man I can’t afford my dream. But both of you inspire me to keep that man inside alive for my kids and my wife
2022-02-19
3. Kevin Estella… - Kevin Estella is a boring man, and he should be hidden in a broom closet. Kevin Owen on the other hand is an absolute unit and should be put on as many podcasts as possible. Mike is cool but too political, I’m here for the survival and training aspect. I don’t really give a heck what these dumb politicians are up to.
2022-02-01
4. Stop it -do reasearch and try. - If you don't typically exhale and carry on a sad tone of 'I'm sorry...' right before trying to pick up a lady at a bar, then why do it leading into an advertisement on the podcast every.single.time? Do we really need a reminder that the co-host hates having to interrupt the interview just to pay the bills? If the sponsor's product has depth/value then that should reflect in the ad. Try to project a confident announcer/salesman, don't take away from the content of the recorded episode.

5. Awesome - I rarely turn on the tv anymore. I can’t sit and watch boring movies anymore. I can listen to these podcast though. Anything I do allows me to listen to the podcasts. When I am traveling, I turn on a podcast with Mike. I have listened to so many that I think I know Mike personally now without meeting him. He has a great company and great podcasts.

6. This is what Americans need to hear. - My favorite podcast hands down. The knowledge and commitment to making people more prepared and productive is incredible. After countless deployments they could of just sat in the mountains and been off the grid but no. Mike and Kevin pass on what they have learned with countless hours of information in a realistic and easy to understand podcast. Great work and keep Leading from the front!

1. Interesting content but …. - I’ve enjoyed Outside magazine for years and have enjoyed the podcast but it’s taken a bit of a tilt over the past couple of years. Interesting content but wow it’s incredibly pompous and pretentious in its reporting. Not all and not always but it’s a bit off putting. Listen to the runner moving from a vegetarian diet to meat and you may fear for our future at the over dramatization and pretension.

2. Backcountry racing to the bottom - Regrettably, the Outside podcast has regressed in quality since its amazing host, Peter Stark, departed. His storytelling was exemplary - his informal series on Survival is still some of the most riveting audio I've ever heard - his pace and timing is unforgettable. Most episodes since then seem like filler. But fast forward to now, and the podcast seems to have devolved so much more, into an SEO exercise thirsting for listeners. How else to make sense of the current episode,"Quest to Become a Meat Eater" which traffics in multiple tropes and even fictions regarding the holy cultural grail that is meat consumption. The host does not question or factually locate any of the tropes -- no journalistic lens is applied at any time --so the message is clear. The poor speaker vis-a-vis main character is probably iron and/or B deficient but this possibility is not explored. Why consider this when it might interfere with online search optimization. ?? Even if it's what fits and what is true.

3. Outside in the bubble… - I tried, but every episode seemed to be Outside editors interviewing each other, or their close friends. They all share the same views and opinions, which just seemed really self centered and kinda selfish. Finally I had to give it up on the “vegan meat eater. She had to surrender her personal values because she loved running so much. She suffered such angst of eating living things. The solution? Make them taste good! Queue the friend who is also an editor and a chef, and things just get weird from there….

4. Fought a bear w/ pocketknife - Great episode. Thanks for re sharing! However, the voice of the outside voice over is driving me a bit nuts. Why does she lower her voice at the end of every sentence to a dramatic whisper mumble ? Just speak clearly and don’t lower your voice when there’s a question. Isn’t that radio voice :?
2022-11-15
5. Excellent podcast! - Really well done podcast and I love the variety of shows. I don’t get bored knowing every episode is a different variation of the last. I am really enjoying the summer readings of books, it’s fascinating to hear about others and their lives in the outdoors. I’m learning so much more about people and their experiences in the outdoors than I ever thought I would. Plus, I like they are not interviewing experts, which gets very boring.
2022-09-09
6. Creepy narrator - What is with the narrator’s voice? It’s so
modulated and fake it’s downright creepy. And what’s with hiring “professional actors” to read parts? They’re even worse. More like listening to some cheesy Harlequin romance novel than stories about adventures in the outdoors. Come on Outside! You're blowing it!
2022-08-17
7. Don’t mushroom hunt! - Everyone should listen to the episode about dying by mushroom poisoning. Brutal but so valuable! I attended a week long mycology seminar as a young college student. Not a biology student and this was a graduate seminar, so it went TOTALLY over my head. (Still had a great time.) But the ONE thing I did learn? Don’t hunt for wild mushrooms! All of the mycologists said the same thing, “NO way would I pick wild mushrooms for consumption. Too many look-alikes & unidentified species out there!” MAYBE one exception: Morels, because they’re unique & distinctive. But that’s it! Anyone who says otherwise is actually ignorant of the dangers. When the experts won’t do it, probably not a good idea for the layman! Not worth losing your liver and/or life over an amateur mistake!

8. blockchain doesn’t belong in this space - hey y’all love your stories but am SO shocked and frankly disgusted that you’re hyping blockchain in your latest ep considering what an absolutely devastating environmental toll is involved with this tech. those of us who respect the earth and treasure nature must categorically reject new harmful capitalist tech ventures that come at the expense of our planet, not simply jump on the bandwagon to pursue ‘connection’ with a digital audience. upsetting.

1. LOVE The tales of terror episodes! - What can I say I love freaking myself out when I’m inside my tent with these episodes downloaded to my iPhone and listening to them before bedtime. Keep them coming! I would contribute my own but the scariest thing that has ever happened to me was The perfect round circle of a furry bear butt pressing into The wall of my tent in the middle of the night. He/she left after clapping my hands, not so scary.
2023-01-05
2. Friends and family - This show has been my connection to the outdoor community for the past few years. I’m not sure who I’d be today without having this show. The pandemic was a struggle but the ideas and creativity this podcast invokes in me has made a difference. Thanks to you all for the well thought out, lighthearted, and inspiring episodes. I come away feeling like I have friends and family I never knew I had.
2022-09-23
3. Used to be my favorite podcast, no longer. - Dirtbag diaries was the first podcast to hook me on the concept of podcasts. Adventure and storytelling over a broad base of areas. Now just like all bought media outlets it’s turned activist/political. I have no time for this indoctrination and programming. Go Woke, Go Broke!
2022-07-25
4. Keep it up y’all! - Been listening for so long now! I think since before tep was even born! Now he’s reading stuff on the podcast! It’s crazy! My favorite episode that sticks out to me is “fueled by strawberry jam”. Y’all keep the dream alive in me! Love love love the Year of big ideas! Keep it up! Love hearing real stories of all this stuff!
2021-10-26
5. Was good, but just got Way better - This has always been a solid storytelling posdcast, but they recently made some changes that made it much, much better. The two co-hosts are a joy to listen to, and the stories are more produced (and produced well!). But what moved me to write a review was the “Sacred Spaces - Oak Flat” episode. I knew a little about this issue, and had even taken some small actions on it. This episode clued me in and took me so much deeper into the issue. Now I really want to visit this place, and I really want to help protect it. (I called my members of Congress right after the episode finished. I am grateful that they left us with some things we could do to help.) Thank you for making this show!!
2021-07-11
6. Trendy, predictable, redundant - I wish there was a show about the outdoors that wasn’t pushing a agenda. I expect a show about outdoor pursuits to have environmentalist and pro public lands views, that’s great. However, this show has more then that, and it get obnoxious pretty fast. It’s for arm chair adventurers, trust fund kids and internet activists. Honestly they will probably produce a entire show someday on how to best spend your REI dividend. Lastly, They also all seem to adopt this faux dopey accent. Its a way of talking I hear from many patigucci clad outdoor enthusiasts, what the heck is the deal with that? I hope someone produces a real dirt bag podcast, about adventures who do a lot with little. Who despite obvious disadvantages still steadfastly pursue outdoor endeavors. People with real personalities. This show isn’t it.
2021-06-03
7. Oh you went to college? Overcame a challenge? Learned something about yourself? I don’t care - Feels too formal, polished and maybe even slightly pretentious and cheesy. Not my cup of tea. You would think something with the term “dirtbag” would be a little more gritty and down to earth, maybe even funny and mysterious, but every episode I’ve tried has been extremely dry, predictable, uninteresting and hard to listen to.
2021-05-16
8. Almost a decade of listening! - I began listening to this podcast in during grad school when I had long commutes to clinical rotations. At the time I had years of catching up to do. Now I anxiously await each new episode. But oftentimes find myself digging back into the archive for a relisten - “heeeeey bear” - or sharing with friends (I’ve sent Fun Divided by Three to so many folx). Love this podcast and can’t recommend enough!

Comments
1. Poisoned by woke agenda - Used to really enjoy listening and the Orvis brand, but I can’t stand the affirmation of the mindless and harmful woke agenda. Coddling and affirming the feelings of sick people to avoid the wrath of the woke mob is not empowering, but cowardly and plain dishonest. Get back to fly fishing and maybe I’ll give it another try.
2022-08-04
2. Orvis Fly Fishing Guide Podcast - Tom is expert — he’s broad and deep in his field; educational — he’s reduced fly fishing down to key principles and points that he preaches consistently across a variety of platforms, from podcasts to books to videos, imparting these principles while continually pointing out there are no absolutes; and finally, he’s an enthusiastic cheerleader for protecting the planet, for which our fresh and salt water natural resources are a critical part. And he doesn’t take himself too seriously by the way.
2022-04-26
3. Great info. Drop the politics please.. - On the very first episode I sampled the host Tom repeatedly scolded his guest for using the word “fisherman” as to not offend anyone. Please grow up and realize that the world is not that fragile. Nobody with any real interest in the sport is going to dissuaded by a harmless word. As a scientist who often fishes with my husband, we shared a laugh at the idea of trying to pursue our quarry without knowledge of separate behavior in fish as it pertains to their sex… Aside from that odd introduction there is a lot of good info..
2022-04-12
4. Informative but becoming PC - I’ve enjoyed so much different varieties of information on this podcast. Though recently on the interview section with Todd Tanner. Tom went on to continuously correct Todd about using the word “ fisherman” and requested he use the word “Fisher” in order to be more inclusive. Tom interrupted him several times and then Tom went on to to say “fisherman” out about : into the podcast. Man can be a gender or non gender word like “mankind” referring to a species people. Maybe just leave the PC woke nonsense out of it. I appreciate Tom’s wisdom and what Orvis is doing for the fly fishing world. In the end, we are all just “HUMAN” not “HUPERSONS”
2022-01-08
5. Painful at times; Could be better - Stale is the word that keeps coming to mind when I scroll through the episodes. In the age of Orvis’ / On The Water, having one female interview in an entire year isn’t a great statistic. And while I adore Tim Flagler and am a better tier for watching him, I question whether there were there no other tiers to have on in a month span of time. The Fly Box Q&A is a great idea but I struggle having to waste - minutes of my valuable time up front listening to some of the dumb questions and rambly responses before I can get to the content I came for. Placement may be key here — put it behind the topic, or midpoint in an intermission. I’ve abandoned listening on numerous occasions because the topic had not gotten under way in a timely fashion and I lost interest. Answering idiotic questions such as ‘what method should I fish X river with?’ isn’t necessary and comes off as passive-aggressive snark. The critical call-outs are unnecessary. Delete the question and find others to respond to. Lastly, Orvis offers Fly Fishing classes as well as a robust video tutorial section online. Many folks don’t know these resources exist. They should really be Tom’s go-to answers when responding to questions involving new or novice anglers.

6. A HUGE Thanks to Tom and Orvis!! - Huge thanks to Tom and Orvis! Having grown up in the shadow of a particular Orvis competitor in my native Maine, I had always been intrigued by this sport but for whatever reason found myself a bit intimidated. Now in on my ’s I’ve discovered the sport and with the help of a couple friends (both guides). I am currently devouring these podcasts as well as other information and applying the knowledge every time out. I appreciate Tom’s humility and genuine enthusiasm for all things fly fishing..”The Fly Box” is terrific! My favorite episode to date is Jeff LeBree of Libby Camps ...a little hometown flavor was great! I hope the podcasts are endless and look forward to new episodes!!
2020-05-26
7. Outstanding - I come and go from fishing as other aspects of life demand time. This podcast consistently has great information that helps you as a beginner, keeps the experienced angler up to date and serves as a reference portal for someone like me who needs a brush up before heading out. The Orvis family knows customer service!

8. Great show - This is by far the best and most informative and entertaining podcast I’ve ever heard when I first listened to it I thought that Tom was just another old person but now I see that he is my favorite podcast “host” and I know that if I heard him I would know it was him in an instant because I have listened to probably about - hours of Tom talking. This show has helped me in so many ways and has rekindled my love for Fly-Fishing. Thanks for what Orvis does for the environment and for the podcast.

1. Interesting guests, pure entertainment! - I love to hunt waterfowl but I am far from what one would call a “waterfowler”. I look forward to this podcast every week. Sometimes it has me laughing so hard that it’s dangerous for me to drive, other times I’m crying like a little baby because the topic or guest gets me that emotional. If you enjoy water fouling or hunting in general, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. It brings back so many memories over the last years of duck and deer camps that I’ve been a part of. One additional bonus they love football and who doesn’t like to talk hunting and football?

2. Curious why hunting has a bad wrap? - If you are ever wondering why hunters get a bad wrap (or people from Texas) listen to this show. Unfortunately they are steepening our uphill battle with their dimwhited and misinformed take on pretty much everything. Luckily, the hunting community as a whole is better than this.

3. Great Podcast - Always enjoy the show guys. Really appreciate how approachable and personable you guys are. Not many people out there who are honest with listeners like you guys. Jeff doesn’t know me from Adam and he and I have messaged back and forth on several occasions. Keep the great content coming.

4. The Big Laughter Podcast - That Clay Reid podcast was the best thing I’ve ever heard through my phone. I could not stop laughing! Y’all are very relatable and I always enjoy listening. If you guys ever need a “nobody” from Indiana to fill in holler at me! I’d enjoy the daylights out of that. -- Congrats on and keep it up!! Brandon Allen

5. A must listen to podcast - This podcast is great, from politics To the funniest stories you’ve heard, to as serious as it can be about hunting this ones got you covered. Jeff and Andy are hilarious together and their guests have a very wide range of backgrounds. This is probably my favorite podcast on iTunes give it a listen you won’t be sorry.

6. Best waterfowl podcast out there - There’s so many podcasts out these days that it’s hard to find one that suits you and your beliefs. This one fits me to a T. If you edge on the conservative side of the political spectrum and are a part of or are just getting into the sport waterfowl hunting, you’ll love the commentary Andy and Jeff throw back and forth. Tons of great guests and topics. It’s hands down the first podcast I check for new episodes on the drive to work and encourage all my friends to do the same. Great work, fellas!

1. WCB - These guys are the best in the business. I don’t know how they do it, but the podcast just keeps getting better with time. The only downfall to the show is that greasy mustache that only shows up if he’s not too busy with his flavor of the month. (He missed Curt’s buck episode) Jk Doug - you the man!
2023-03-20
2. A True Hunting Podcast - The whole WCB crew is the most down to earth, real and honest podcast I have found. Their ability to be able to bring in a wide variety of guests to cover a vast array of topics within the archery community is refreshing. They make their content relatable to listeners in every area of the country which gives them a leg up in my book. Bringing shop talk and the hunting industry into the same room for me makes this a five star rating for me.
2023-03-17
3. The Best Hunting Podcast in the Game - The WCB Crew easily have the best podcasts in the game. The have the perfect mix of hunting related topics and tactics but also make it fun and “uncuffed” it feels like your with your buddies talking hunting not knowing if at any second you could be talking about a big buck or some wild story you got into at a bar! These guys truly are my favorite podcast and I listen religiously every week to every episode they drop! And one final thing Doug’s Mustache looks even better in person! Keep it up boys and never change what you do!
2023-03-04
4. Awesome Show! - You guys might be the most relatable podcast out there. Every week I listen it’s like I’m sitting down and shooting the breeze with all my buddies. Keep cracking those Busch lights and making those old fashioneds fellas! Doug make sure you take care of that caterpillar on your upper lip for the ladies!
2023-03-04
5. Addictive - The mood and energy the guys bring on every episode is addictive. Even if you’re not a bowhunter at all, you will enjoy the everyone is family community they have built. Not to mention the great info they provide. PSA : If Doug’s mustache were a person, it would be Chuck Norris. I’ve seen other mustache’s turn themselves into a chin strap at the mere sight of Doug. Inferior mustache’s have been know to shave themselves when Doug walks in the room. For real though, check out the podcast, promo codes, and even their patreon. It is all

Looking forward to meeting a cracking a beer with these guys in Ohio come March !!!

8. The perfect combo of funny and informational - Love these guys, feels like sitting at deer camp with buddies drinking beer. The most relatable podcast for your average deer hunter. They have great guests and review a lot of hot topics without overdoing it on the tactics/strategy. It’s the perfect mix of funny and informational.

1. Watch your language please!! stars in good faith..LOL - Great content love the small talk as well as deeper conversations………. stars in good faith that you keep in mind we “ a lot of your listeners” listen to this with our kids present, and would appreciate if you would watch your language. Last episode was pretty rough, and if it continues I will no longer be able to listen, and I love to listen.
2022-11-22
2. DO NOT recommend - The two episodes that I suffered through were a mixture of soap box rants by the host and guests about how trail cameras are bad, feeding deer is bad, hunting where you want is bad, hunting from tree stands is bad……. I am a die hard meat eater/ bear grease fan, so I was excited to dive into this whitetail focused version of the same content. I found myself furious midway through one episode and will not be back.

3. horrid. - Mark made it. Literally accomplished the dream of making a living at hunting. Then via overthinking and over talking about it he turned something we all love, into…average-ness. It’s like he can’t close a deal. Stop missing, hesitating, thinking. Just quit man. You will circle back in - years and be able to hunt again. Let Andy May take over. If the Almighty Rinella, who fires anyone with a personality on par with his, allows it. Stop. Go work at target. Despite my booing from the bleachers (Literally he made it. was THE audience creator for whitetail.), I want what is best for mark and his family. Quit. Stop. or stop talking about your aim. Send an arrow. Put all your gear in the closet or fire. Just a bow and one arrow. Shoot a doe. You have the entire nation at your finger tips. Enjoy.

4. Used to love the Rut Fresh season… - Rut Fresh used to be one of my favorite hunting podcasts of the year. I knew Spencer was moving on to bigger and better things, but I liked the succinct nature of his hosting. We got real valid information without a ton of superfluous niceties. The southern hospitality of the new hosts wears on me and I find myself skipping more than half the podcast to get to the good stuff. Just one opinion, y’all do y’all.

5. Good Show. Used to be better. - I miss Sitka Mark. This once was a great show. I just feel like it lost something with the meat eater brand. Still a good listen for any hunter but not what it used to be. If you’re just getting started with this show, scroll back a ways and check out some of the older episodes. You won’t be disappointed.
2022-08-03
6. Great discussions and super informative - So many great issues get brought up on these podcasts. Neat to hear about the different fights for conservation and preserving the hunting culture and how the issues vary state to state and region to region. BHA Lifetime member after hearing the T. Edward Nickens interview!

7. Can you tweak it for the deaf kid? - First of all I absolutely love the show. Great information and lots of thought provoking content. However, the only reason I’m giving it stars is I have a hearing impairment and most of the guests are on via phone call. Can you turn them up for the deaf kid that doesn’t want to miss anything?? Sincerely, Helen Kellers Son

8. Best Hunting Podcast - This is in my honest opinion the best hunting podcast out there. Not only does it help you learn more about deer and how to be a better hunter, Mark is also very raw and honest. There’s no fakeness here. You ride the huge highs and really depressing lows together. I really appreciate that and how this show doesn’t shy away from the hunting bliss as well as massive disappointments. Do yourself a favor if you hunt, and listen to this show.

1. Love the podcast - I have been following y’all for years. I am in south mississippi and I appreciate everything y’all do for the outdoor industry. Truly are an inspiration to young hunters. Y’all should try to get Ronnie “Cuz” Strickland on here for a podcast! Would be a real treat while y’all are down south! God Bless!

2. These Guys Are Revolutionizing DeerHunting - Down to earth guys who are truly exceptional hunters. They are honest and forthcoming, and extremely generous with their knowledge. They’ve taught me a lot, and really inspired me to better myself as a hunter. And make no mistake, these guys are killers. Moreover, their ground hunting tactics and aggressive scouting strategies have changed the way hunters are pursuing whitetails.
2022-12-28
3. Please don’t - Good podcast but Zach if you’re not still hunting don’t say you’re still hunting. Still hunting is a specific thing and you always say you’re still hunting but when you explain what you’re actually doing it’s not even close to still hunting. You’re moving way too fast to be acting like you’re still hunting.

4. The best ! - Listening - hours a day! I’m lucky to live in a country club town with big tracts of public around. The deer get to - regular , no pressure just hikers mostly ! These podcast have shed some new light for me hunting especially deer hunting in the mountains(where I hunt) . All the different guest and new tactics they share plus the similarities everyone see’s is awesome! Keep up the good work.

5. Not as good as their YouTube - As a new hunter and watching THP YouTube I was thinking that their podcast would be equally as good. However, the host completely dominates the conversation and viewpoints of the guests or his hunting team. He’ll ask a question and almost immediately give his perception or experience rather than exploring his guests. What’s the point in having people on the podcast? After listening to Mark Kenyon , Beau Martonik and the THP YT channel I guess I was expecting that level of commentary and something more in depth, not the case with this format.

6. Best podcast - I love this podcast so much, I have never been hunting my dad or buddies was are not hunters. But me listening to this podcast made me want to start. The only type of hunting I want to do is stalk. At the moment Iam currently training my body for what is to come my goal is to get in the woods in I should have all the equipment I need and training. Keep making these podcast I love you guys and ur stories
2022-02-10
7. Doug Wickham - I am recovering from emergency surgery and I wasn’t able to hunt this fall. Your podcasts are awesome and I am able to watch your videos is great for my recovery. I watched your videos in the past and now during recovery I have viewed them all. Keep up the great work and I am telling all my hunting friends about The Hunting Public. I have watched all the “commercial” hunting shows and I think you guys are on the right track and keeping it relatable to hunters that don’t have huge tracks of land or money. Thank you for keeping normal hunters entertained.
2021-11-17
8. Practical knowledge and enjoyable stories - I watched a few of THPs episodes on Amazon and then switched to podcasts so I can listen while I mow acres of grass every weekend. I can honestly say I have learned more about hunting from this podcast than any other single source of media. Zach’s discussion of walking cadence through the woods should be made into a single and launched on iTunes! Great stories and invaluable advice from these guys.

1. Got me my first buck - Gosh dang it If it wasnt for Remi Im % sure I wouldnt have got my first archery mule deer buck this season. I was having some serious problems about controlling myself when the moment came. I thought of Remi’s advice and stood still. Breathed and stayed confident in my set up and my shot opening. Iv made dozens of stalks that ended in failed shots because I simply couldnt stay still. Remi beat that into my brain and now Im successful a week later. Thank you REMI!

2. Tips that work - Did the cow party knowing elk were in the area then introduced the bull into the mix while busting sticks and branches. Had a x bull sneak in with out making a sound. I was more surprised it work and did not get the shot off but great experience. Thanks for the tips and keep them coming.
2022-09-28
3. Encouraging and necessary - I enjoy the storytelling in your episodes and that you’re joining the group that seems to recognize that education on traditional ways is the way forward. Honestly I listen mostly when I overhear my husband listening, but I think the thing that most makes me want to follow along is the part of your story where hunting is a whole family thing. You could say my husband and I are trying to establish that in its first generation. I grew up surrounded by the narrative that hunting was for the men and, looking back, it was so divisive. We feel it’s essential to teach our son and daughter values equally like: it’s important to know where your food comes from, appreciate what’s wild, knowing how to find your way in nature, and respect for the animal that gave its life so we could have meat to eat. We appreciate your resilience and voice. Thanks for sharing what you’ve learned!
2022-09-09
4. Simply the best - Remi’s in depth knowledge and ability to teach everyone is a skill that most don’t have. He is relatable to new hunters or hunters who’ve been doing it for years. This is one of the best hunting podcasts out there because he is constantly giving away tips that you don’t always hear from other avid hunters. The call in show is the best!
2022-09-02
5. This much info shouldn’t be free…but I’m glad it is! - Remi’s podcasts are essentially a weekly college level course in hunting tactics. This should be mandatory listening for anyone who wants to hunt western big game…or really anything. Best hunting podcast and it isn’t even close. The call-in shows are amazing, I have gotten through twice and even won a Stone Glacier quilt!! If you are new to hunting or want to learn more about hunting this podcast is the absolute best.
2022-08-04
6. Quality Podcasts - Seems irrelevant to some, but I thoroughly enjoy the sound effects that accompany all of the story points. The only person whose podcasts I enjoy listening to where it’s a guy speaking directly to the audience without guests. Glad to see him having started his own podcast out from under the Meateater umbrella. Remi is my favorite source of info for hunting, and my favorite podcast too apparently.
2022-07-05
7. Finally - I never knew I could comment/ review podcasts. If Remmi sees this, just know that I am a year old kid from Montana and I listened too all the elk podcasts from cutting the distance and I think that you are a very informative and ethical hunter. You also have taught me a lot and given me the courage to call in a elk for my dad this year. last year I got the biggest bull anyone in my family/ area has gotten so I feel compelled to help my dad get a bull this year considering he has never even shot at one. Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you and maybe suggest a podcast about what exactly to do when you get a bugle and don’t know how to use it, as in how to blow through it and practice with it.
2022-06-28
8. Kitchen table - I have been listening and I watching Remi for quite a few years now. The knowledge he shares in his shows has helped me immensely. I’m somewhat of a new hunter ( years) and don’t really know anybody that actually hunts. I would say % of what I’ve learned has been through the help of Remi’s shows. I have to thank Remi for helping put a lot of food on my Kitchen Table.

1. Legitimately - I gave this podcast a shot as I am an avid listener of other meateater network podcasts. I was enjoying the most recent episode when I witnessed the repeated misuse of the slang word “Legit.” “Legit” is short for “legitimate” and not short for “legitimately” which is a totally different word. This is a common mistake that can be forgiven if infrequent, but makes you sound more uneducated with each use. I enjoyed the podcast and look forward to new episodes!

2. Thank you - I wanted to thank you guys for the kind and frequent mentions of the quality hunting in the state of Arkansas. As a resident of the state, I am occasionally disappointed with what seems to be a negative outsider perspective of our wildlife and hunting habitat in general. Thanks to you guys and people like Clay Newcomb Arkansas is getting the recognition it deserves. I’m also a new listener and enjoy the “southern” spin you y’all put on your hunting adventures and approaches to story telling. Thanks again.

3. Great Job - I found out about this show from having listened to an episode of The Southern Outdoorsman podcast a few months ago. I’ve been listening ever since, and I really enjoy how down to earth, blue collar, and relatable the guys are. I live in Mansfield, TX and took up archery in . I’ve been lucky enough to harvest a Texas public land buck in and with a tree saddle. I’ve also been up to Oklahoma and have aspirations to hit some other states. I say all that because it seems there aren’t a lot of Bowhunting podcasts that are based in Texas and it seems like bowhunters outside of this state are surprised when they hear about Bowhunting taking place (in this state). It’s refreshing and relatable to listen to these guys and I always make sure I’m paying attention, and often I’ll rewind pieces back to ensure I really absorb the information - because they go in to such great detail. Great job guys and keep it up. I’ve only been at this for two seasons now but I’m hooked. I listen to podcasts and try to absorb as much content year round, just being a student - getting that itch for season in February haha. You can catch me all year sippin a cold beer in my garage with Whiskey Myers (shout to east Texas) jamming, and me shooting arrows in to my target from feet away to make sure my mechanics are dialed. Thank you for all that you guys do!!

4. Good Ol Texas Boys and Bucks - I’m so glad I found this podcast. They are hardcore hunters but seem to be great family guys and Christ followers too who are unapologetic about sharing their faith while telling epic deer hunting stories. I’d love to share deer camp with these guys someday and chase big whitetails! Keep up the great work guys.
2021-12-18
5. Very informative and raw - I love how these guys interact with one another and keep it fun. They do a great job breaking hunting down and offer a perfect mix of basic and advanced tactics. One of my favorite parts of the podcast is when there is a part that clearly was meant to be edited out. It may sound sarcastic, but it’s not. These guys are real, the stories are real and they own their failures just like their successes. I am late to the party and thankfully have plenty of episodes to catch up on. Seth Durham ME

1. You guys are the best! - Backpacker Radio has gotten me through some of the darkest times of my life! I can confidently say that without this podcast, I would not be planning to hike the Colorado Trail this summer. Every episode is a new laugh, a new inspirational story, and (usually) a new hilarious poop story. Also, Zach, because of the podcast with Dr. Freeborn Mondello, I was able to reach out to him and get a new outlook and recovery plan for my overuse injuries caused by my long hard days as a dog groomer. And Chaunce! I also have an Aussie and get excited every time you talk about Harper. I think her and my dog Canyon would be besties. Anyways, you guys rock! I look forward to every Monday because of you. Keep up the great work!

2. Finally reviewing - The podcast I used to get me through the Covid years has been stepping it up even more this past year. They’re expanding topics and material, while still sticking to their roots. Weekly, I discuss with my four kids (ages , , , ) adventures we need to do when they’re older. The consensus is the Colorado trail on a bikepacking trip which was inspired by this show. The only thing I’d change about the show is the ridicule Zach gets for saying he hiked the Appalachian trail. I know it’s a meta joke at this point, but if you can’t brag about that constantly, what can you brag about? One last thing, adding a bikepacker to the trail correspondents would be rad.

3. Giddyup! - As a triple crowner from a different era (AT /PCT /CDT ) with its payphones, postcards and handwritten journals, I really enjoy listening to you and your guests to get a sense of thruhiking these days. While my life as a parent limits my big hiking to smaller trips (Teton Crest Trail last summer!) it feeds my soul to hear stories of big adventures. Thank you!

4. A Show for Pros and Noobs! - I’m a wannabe long distance backpacker and started listening to your show to learn more about the community and get an idea of where to start. Love the information, guests, segments, and banter. Keep it coming! PS, if you had to pick a first time segment hike of the PCT near Seattle, where would you go? Thanks!

Just a group of scouting moms who love backpacking and hiking. Your stories and guests have inspired us to section hike, the AT starting this year. @orderofthehikers orderofthehikers themaplies

6. Love it! - I have been a consistent listener for a while, but I am somehow still a year behind in listening! I guess that means I won’t run out of episodes any time soon. I will honestly be sad when I get caught up and have to wait for the next episode. I enjoy the banter and topics on the show. It makes me feel like I’m on the trail even though I only make it out for a few backpacking trips each year. I would like to suggest a topic for a future episode. I recently learned about Make a Wish Foundation’s Trailblaze Challenge. I am hoping to participate next year. The one I’m looking at is . miles on the Pinhoti Trail in one day. I know there are multiple events in different locations. I would love to hear an interview with one of the organizers or someone who has participated in this. It’s a fundraiser for a great organization and would be worth spreading the word to your audience. Keep up the great work. I appreciate all that you do!

7. Keeps me walking - Getting up and out on the trail before the sun rises is so much easier when I know I have a fresh backpacker radio episode waiting! Don’t you dare make them shorter! I can usually get miles down the trail before you get to Trek propaganda and by then the sun is starting to peek over horizon. Congratulations on years! An idea for you: I know you are challenged by ‘the socials,’ but you might consider setting up a Mastodon site. I would love to spend time at thetrek.social trading photos, videos and comments with fellow hikers. Tell Rachel to do it!
Love you guys!

8. Amazing show - The year anniversary ep was so fun!! I love hearing from the hosts about inside baseball, group dynamics and all the fun memories. That was a wonderful episode. And to Zach who always worries we aren’t still listening, I don’t listen to it all at once!! If I don’t finish a hr episode in one sitting, I’ll just resume it the next time I need content. It’s all good hommie

1. Great show. - I love this show. Sometimes I make new hires at work listen to it in the van while they ride around with me. Most people glance at me sideways with a “cool story bro,” kind of look. I remember you gave some cougar recipe ideas on an early episode, and I got myself a cat last season. So far it has made real good pulled pork type food, but I’d like to hear more about cooking cougars in general from meat eater. Might make a great ‘Cal in the Kitchen’ episode. Thanks for all the great info, laughs, and calls to action. -Brian, the hopeful cat cooker.

2. Invasives, Wildlife disease, and citizen science - As always, susinct and accurate information on important topics. Thanks for a great year of keeping me well informed. This week’s empathy for bird farmers hopefully put things in perspective for grumbling hunters. I also could not agree with you more on CWD. I hope your positive scenarios are how it plays out in the future. Thanks again for a great podcast every week!
2022-12-19
3. Good podcast, but I remember… - Good podcast that keeps you up-to-date on all things hunting and conservation. My only complaint is how the Meateater franchise has sold out for ad revenue. I remember when Steve would make fun of “ball sports” as he was so into hunting/fishing. All the sport ads now kinda makes me wince. I guess money changes things.

4. Cal's getting to be a drag - Cal's quick-fire news is a real hoot! Fun to listen to. Edit: after years or so, I'm less than thrilled at the rising percentage of calls to political action. It's not balanced at all. Not that they're not necessary, but as far as the entertainment factor goes, it's overwhelming and the fun factor is pretty much gone. Cal's become a real drag to listen to. I know this is an unpopular opinion and I love Meateater but this Cal thing's really getting boring.

5. Thank you, Cal! - Thanks for headlining your Feb , “Bad Bill Review” with Tennessee HB and the threat to Yanahli WMA. And thanks for pointing out, whether you are a hunter or angler in CA, MT, ME, FL or a private land owner in TN, the BAD BILLS also are a threat to you. Cal, here’s an update. Both bills have been withdrawn. Yanahli is saved. For now. I’m sure these critters will search for another way to grab it. Thank you so much for your help and support. Keep up the great work. I’ll be listening.

6. Best outdoor podcast by far - Love it and can’t wait for each episode to come out! The best thing about it is he is able to articulate a point or tell a story without the use of curse words which makes it easy to listen to with the kids in the truck. Also one of the few podcasts I’ve been able to share with my parents who won’t listen to anyone who curses. The only issue I have is that I wish it was longer!

7. Love the conservation Cal presents - While other MeatEater platforms embrace invasive plants and animals, Cal keeps us focused on the dangers of invasive species. This is also the place to get all the scoop on everything we should know as conservation minded hunters and anglers. Thank you Cal. Keep it up.

8. Finally, a hunting intellectual - We all have biases. Cal has a unique ability to shed that trash and shine a light right through the red vs blue garbage, while providing well thought out ideas on the topics most of us would agree on.
I appreciate this kind of insight of everything from politics to evolution… Cal, you’re an unbelievable assest to this community. I hope to bump into you one day. Please… Keep the stash so I recognize you.

3. Coyote Episode - As an outdoorsman coyotes have always amazed me. I’ve had several encounters while deer hunting but this one trumps all. I actually walked up on a pack that was sleeping while I was midday scouting. They were sleeping in a triangular position and I found myself in the middle of it. The story is too detailed to type in full length but that is my wildest encounter with them.

4. Loving it - I love mossy oak I grew up in southeast Mississippi and mossy oak has always been a part of my life my dad has always bought y’all’s camo and that’s the only camo worth buying! 5. Look forward to the show every week. - I am a registered forester with scotch plywood company land management division in south Mississippi. Part of my job is looking at private property and figuring out how to maximize timber production and return, while at the same time maximizing wildlife habitat on the property. Simply put, its hard to find people who love the land as much as mossy oak. The gamekeeper mindset is a way you can mix sustainable forest management with wildlife management. I learn something new every time I listen. Keep up the good work! -Bracy

6. Great listening! - These guys are great! I’ve learned so much about gamekeeping and land management just listening to them. So glad I found this podcast. The culture at Mossy Oak is refreshing in todays dog eat dog world. I’m now a fan. And now I’m in the process of changing all my camo gear to Bottomland. It’s the best!

7. Best podcast hands down! - There is a never a dull episode! I was lucky enough to come across the Game Keeper podcast last spring and it has done nothing but fuel my obsession for turkey hunting. I have learned many useful things since I began listing to the podcast. Keep up the great work and educating folks on being a true Game Keeper! Drake Martin

8. Being a Gamekeeper - This is one of my two favorite podcast, the other being Fist Full of Dirt. I love what Mossy Oak stands for. It’s a way of life, a life outdoors. It’s not just camo, it’s a brand that stands for so much more. I listen, laugh and learn how to better manage they property that I’m blessed to take care of so that the next guy and his family can enjoy it like me and my family do. Thank you Mossy Oak for investing in the land and the people that take care of the land so that it will be enjoyed for generations to come. Because of the information and guidance learned from the folks at Mossy Oak, I am no longer just a hunter, I am a Gamekeeper.

1. The podcast fly fishing out there - Listen to a handful of these podcasts and you’ll quickly realize why Troutbitten has reached top of the charts so quickly. Informative, entertaining, and all around a pleasure to listen to. You can tell Dom and the Troutbitten crew really care about producing a top quality podcast (great audio quality, editing etc.). It will make every other podcast (even the “big” ones) in this category seem lacking.
2023-03-21
2. Taking fly fishing deep. - I have listened to most, if not all, of the TB podcasts and love the depth of their inspection on trout fishing. As I live near the driftless (Iowa) their PA streams sound similar to ours. The breadth of the TB team is refreshing as no two anglers are the same however they unify around their passion for the pursuit. A wonderful coalition of fly fishing friends I enjoy joining weekly. Go deep or go home.

3. Educational & enjoyable - Dom’s plethora of recourses for catching trout on a fly rod are outstanding! But the podcast has quickly grown to be one of my favorites. The in depth coverage of tactics spoken in conversation is excellent and it sticks with me while out on the water. I enjoy hearing opinions from every member of the crew because they each have valuable input and something interesting to say. I can honestly say it’s improved my fishing and has made me a more efficient angler. Thank you to Dom & crew! - Justin B from Connecticut

4. Excellent resource - The Troutbitten guys are a great learning resource for all anglers, beginner and seasoned veteran alike. Particularly good material for learning about the monorig variation to fly fishing, but there is also good content for other topics. As a supplement to the Troutbitten website, you get to see the real side to anglers who are on the cutting edge of fly fishing for trout.
You won't get much information on salt water, Carp, or warm water sport fish, because these guys are trout focused hard core anglers. A master class in the trout fishing world.

5. Best Fly Fishing Podcast - The Troutbitten podcast is by far the best thing going if you like fly fishing for wild trout. The troutbitten crew is likeable, entertaining, and informative. They represent more than just the sport of fly fishing. They do a great job of describing the entire experience of being out on a wild trout river.

6. Best Fly Fishing Podcast - Troutbitten Crew, I have listened to every episode and can hardly wait for the next one. Traditionally, I have been a very fortunate fly angler and caught more than my fair share of trout on my fishing outings. I would stand in a stream and just keep changing things up until I was consistently hooking up while my buddies would complain they don’t want to move the weight, indicator or change flies. I was versatile, but had no idea i was taking a tactical approach to versatility util I started listening to Troutbitten. Furthermore, the group dynamics has helped me become more efficient on the water. Generally speaking, you all have very similar approaches. However each of you have very slight variations from one to the next. I get the benefit of listening to all of your tactics and picking and choosing which ones I want to try on the water, kind of customizing it for myself. Until now, I have been an indicator fisherman. I have wanted to try the mono rig for a couple of years now. Listening to your podcast gave me the confidence to make the switch this season. I have a huge learning curve, but I know I’ll get there. Thank you guys for what you do you’re making successful anglers even better. PS: Matt, I’m coming for you next summer. Im hoping for a two or three day mono rig guide trip. I live in Colorado and make it up to MT a few times every year to fish. This year it will be all mono rig!

7. Great podcast - I recently started listening to this podcast. At first I thought these we just a bunch of yokels swapping frat stories but soon learned that I was wrong. I really enjoy the different perspectives and tips and knowledge the panel has. I have come to appreciate their interactions and resulting insights. I especially enjoyed the listener questions session recently. Answer more of those questions and do a podcast on small stream fishing in the southern Rockies. Keep up the good work.

8. Reading the Water - Enjoyed the podcast & totally agree with the subsurface approach & movement. I’ve been mousing a long long time in northern Michigan & reading the water trumps everything else. Today I could epoxy glue a ball of deer hair on green sea foam on a hook with a leather tail (which is what we used in ) and it would elicit hits on the stillwater of an inside bend’s seam -% of the time. Gotta read the the ambush locations and fish’em with a twitch.

1. Lies and the lying liars who tell them - Wildlife officers responding to suburban noise complaints. Executing felony stops and they let driver and passengers remain in the car. FTO’s listening to podcasts, or something, through earbuds while they’re on duty. Law enforcement broadcasting radio traffic using their last name. And the cherry on top, this clown says he, and “the kid” that he was training open up on this creature with a . and a long gun and the bullets bounce off of it because it has thick, ape skin. Vic does no favors for honest people who actually believe they have had a cryptid sighting by giving dishonest charlatans like this Troy person, if that is his name, air time. It makes you look really bad Vic.
I hope someone that actually is in law enforcement in Florida does a little investigating into Troy. Impersonating a law enforcement officer is a crime. And Vic is guilty of criminal gullibility, and stupidity
2023-03-14
2. Easily the worst - These are the fakest stories and they aren’t even very well written. Every single guest has multiple sightings. The editing is odd. Just a bad overall production. And the host speaks as if guests and his audience are stupid. I’ve given this multiple chances but it never gets better.
2022-12-27
3. I LOVE LISTENING TO STORIES AND EXPERIENCES ABOUT BIGFOOT - I really enjoy the majority of the experiences and stories that are shared but on a rare occasion I wonder if some of the people sharing their experiences or what they think are experiences actually are in need of mental health checks. It’s not common that I feel that and I still enjoy the stories but I’m worried about the well being of those few people. As a whole, the experiences shared are very cool.
2022-11-11
4. awesome episode! - i lived in this area and had an encounter at Big Basin, cool to hear these stories. i will say, the commercials on these episodes are absolutely obnoxious. fully takes you out of the stories, so jarring. i listen to hours of podcasts a day and nobody else has ads that interrupt so often and so harsh.
2022-05-24
5. Vic is the master . - I’ve been fascinated with the “ Big ” , Bigfoot , Dogman and the Windigo” for years now . Vic is the master when it comes to having a podcast regarding our furry terrors . His opening questions are spot on , then let’s the guest tell THIER. Story, he then asks more questions. Perfect recipe for a amazing show . I could listen to Uncle Vic read the directions on a shampoo bottle. Bravo Vic !
Also, follow Vic on Facebook. He is a champion getting the word out for furry little friends who need our help.
2022-04-06
6. Cannot stand the rambling - I can’t listen anymore. Listening to people making up stories as they go while saying uhhhhhh after every word is enough to drive anyone crazy. Most of these people just like to hear themselves talk and this podcast is the only way for them to get through their fabricated story without someone yelling LIar Liar Pants on Fire. Please -someone running this podcast, screen the story first before airing these morons. Thank you
2022-01-26
7. Ep - Good job on episode . I agree with the lady. Man needs to leave the Sasquatch alone. Everyone knows they’re out there including the government and the scientific community. Sasquatch is doing fine without any help from man and just wants to be left alone. Looking forward to the next episode. Thanks.
2021-05-02
8. Not the best - As far as Bigfoot podcasts go, this one is just ok. The host uses a very unnatural sounding voice that is distracting. I listened to a guest today who went into so much unnecessary detail (down to the color of his vehicle) that I just turned it off. Lots of improvements to be made on this one.

1. Expert level advice from an easy listening voice! - Love, love, love this podcast. It’s my go to anytime I find myself with down time or mindless tasks (mowing the lawn). Joseph has a easy to listen to voice and even better advice based in real world experience. Ballistics to bulllets, backpacking to car camping, this guy has good advice. Love the Ackley!
2023-02-10
2. Second to none - For me, there is no podcast that will ever top this one. If there were stars, it would get that too. If you appreciate technical info, that’s well back by decades of experience and knowledge, well crafted stories, and many deeper levels than you could imagine, this will be on your top list as well. And just when you think you’ve learned everything that JvB has to teach, and thought he has covered every imaginable topic, out comes a new episode on Fridays, and he out does himself each and every week. Very often, I have to exclaim, “man, what an incredible episode!” This may sound overly dramatic, though I assure you this is true for me, this podcast has greatly increased my joy for life, and has turned up the flickering flame of my passion to a torch flame. JvB, I appreciate you and all that you share! I am proud to support this podcast on Patreon.com, for the long haul. I’d hate to even think what I’d do if this ended. So please join me in assuring that doesn’t happen, and please tell friends and enjoy all that is offered!

3. I never knew how little I knew about bullets - This podcast is fantastic. Not only is Mr. Avon Benedict’s voice mesmeric and soothing, it delivers some of the most content rich podcasts I’ve heard. His balance of authority and humility are something to aspire to, and his explication skills are right up there with the very best. I have learned so much about bullet construction and the importance of bullet choice with regard to game, caliber, and ranges that I’m stunned at my previous lack of knowledge. Joseph, thank you.
2022-11-14
4. The best of the best in hunting content - A good, decent host who packs as much wallop and authority into his shows as his favorite cartridges, yet somehow remains all the while humble. Only very rarely the show grazes up against political themes, often though not always at the behest of a guest (like the episode with the Gunwerks founder, or the episode on hard men). In those again very rare moments I sometimes feel alienated by the implicit assumption that all backcountry hunters are conservative. But generally Joseph steers we’ll clear of these divisive topics and focuses on his love of the craft and his appreciation for wilderness conservation. He is also quick to respond to listener questions, further demonstrating his love for the topic and the community he serves. He’s won another loyal fan and a Patreon subscriber.

5. Top Notch - I’ve read JVBs articles and listened to his podcast. I find all of his information to be very helpful and informative. I think the greatest testament to this podcast is that when you listen to a lot of other podcasts and YouTube channels, they all mention listening to and enjoying this one. So if the other “experts” find it helpful, so do I.

6. Excellent Back Country Apprentice!! Episode . - Great topic and straight forward info! I will forward this podcast to my brother as he may have already needed to apply it this year! Haha!
I really like the info from the Back Country Apprentice. What a great way to exercise both the body and the shooting skills. Great job and thanks for the podcast!! Jason

7. Backcountry Hunting Podcast is Outstanding - I’ve listened to JvB’s podcast for years now and it is second to none. I can’t think of a better put together, more informative and more entertaining podcast for those of us that eat, sleep and breathe western (and Alaskan) back country big game. Joseph is amazingly knowledgeable and an outstanding story teller! My young boys love hearing him say “heavy for caliber bullets” in his deep baritone voice. Can’t praise this podcast enough really! One more thing, to the guy that said he was “too heavy on Patreon”…. he’s absolutely not too heavy, but that is how he is able to make a living and bring us amazing content. Cheers and thanks to JvB for many hours of outstanding memories listening to the podcast!
2022-08-21
8. Killer Content - I use this podcast mostly to learn about bullets and ballistics. I appreciate the balance of stories and anecdotes with informational and research based content. I love that JVB steers clear of politics and focuses on the details of the outdoor experience when it comes to shooting. One of my favorites within the hunting space.

Alex Honnold and co-host Fitz Cahall share stories from the people who define the sport of climbing by pushing the boundaries and challenging the status quo of the previous generation. In season three, we dive deep into the art of risk taking. How do we get better at it? Why do we accept risk we don’t have to take? Can you reconcile your dreams with the reality that they could kill you? Each of us must ask when is the right time to walk away.
Release date: 2022-12-16
Comments
1. Favorite climbing podcast - I thoroughly enjoy Honnold’s infectious and inclusive enthusiasm for climbing. My favorite episodes are about the history of climbing, like the battle over sport climbing in the US or the unique ethos of British trad. It has great production/editing, too. I think any climber (or any curious person) would enjoy the show.
2022-11-12
2. Really enjoy this podcast! - As a non-climber but fan of climbers in general and Alex in particular, I really enjoy this podcast. I thought season was absolutely fascinating in the deep dive about risk. The range of guests is pretty fantastic. I give it stars because the sound levels on various guests can be all over the pace (some impossible to hear, some too loud) and sometimes I have to strain to hear Fitz’s narration as he rushes or swallows the end of sentences. But I’m a huge fan regardless. Thanks for helping me pass some long car rides in complete absorption…and the hope that in my next life I come back as a climber. :)
2022-07-21
3. Super Interesting - Alex and Fitz bring a fresh and interesting perspective on climbing—tying in history, psychology, science and personal experiences. The latest season on risk has been especially enlightening. I’d love to hear a perspective about a near death survivor and their opinion on risk…. (I haven’t finished the season so maybe you have an episode on it already). Well done young lads!
2022-06-30
4. Great show ruined by too many commercials - No by now I will not buy a whoop or athletic greens and honestly getting hammered on commercials every minutes of the podcast does ruin the quality and the fun of it….I understand the need to monetize it but the number of commercials is extreme in relation to the duration
2022-05-07
5. Gold - I enjoy hearing Alex share his experiences and he seems to be a fan of the people he is interviewing. Fitz is a good counter balance to Alex and adds color. Great show! I would like to hear about climbs that are awesome or GOLD. THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK! Another way to think of Gold is Awesome climbs! The awesome characters who have done it! Alex is a fantastic ambassador to share their stories with us, the fans!
2022-05-06
6. Great bones but over produced - Think the dramatic NPResque format does not fit with Alex’s interview style and distracts from the story telling and interviews. All of the narration and background info interruptions are more distracting than helpful and makes episodes feel very piecey and disjointed. Came here for an alex honold podcast not for interludes and dramatic nonsense - less polish more Alex! Plz

7. For a Non-Climber but an enthusiast of Climbing, this feeds my curiosity - I am a non-climber due to other pursuits being stronger than my curiosity of climbing but climbing has always catched my eue from looking a man in a magazine up in the air due to their own force of nature to climb the wall. This feeds me and my adrenaline, it gives me the knowledge or the imagery that I wish I had in person but one day will, Alex keep on doing what you're doing, climbing needs to be shown through out the world and hopefully inspire the next big climber or just the average joe who doesnt feel like they cut out in regular sports. This is our history books.
2021-12-19
8. My first Podcast. - I have never listened to a podcast in my life. I was stuck at work on a Saturday and just needed something different when this popped up on my Spotify. I have followed Alex for the last years but this is epic. I have listened to all the episodes in two day. I climb but don’t consider myself a climber. My son on the other hand is a crusher. Just before if found this podcast he made the choice to stop playing hockey (he is a goalie) and go full into competitive climbing. It’s so cool to know more about the sport, the background and where the sport may be headed. I know Alex said this may end after the olympics but I really hope you guys keep it up.

No matter how you fish or what you fish for, Cut & Retie with Joe Cermele. Never techy, always metal-injected, let your guard down and stop taking fishing so seriously, because it's just fishing, man.
Release date: 2023-03-24
Comments
1. What fishing is really about! - Cut and Retie is a unique show. A show that covers how to of all kinds of fishing but never forgets that we will change our minds next season and reinvent old fishing wheels for as long as anglers exist. Cut and Retie is a place to meet great characters and celebrate fishing friendships. If you need a tweed jacket and a scotch to enjoy flyfishing this show is not like minded though it will still make room for you. INTRIGUED?
2023-03-10
2. Off the charts excellent! - Joe’s ability to tie fishing, music and some of most awesome people is outstanding. Friday mornings are like heading to the old fishing shop hang out and getting to exchange memories of fishing tails and related encounters. The unwritten fishing history and culture he exposes is very entertaining. If you fish you’ll enjoy to this show and smile/laugh while you’re listening to it.
2023-02-17
3. Just the right amount of irreverence - Joe makes fishing media loosen up and have fun. Just the right amount of irreverence mixed with passion for angling. Entertaining, informative, and inspiring… in that it makes we want to partake in opening day of trout season, fighting over stockers who only want to eat something that looks like a pellet, elbow to elbow with freezer fillers, ex-cons, and little kids trying to catch their first fish… and enjoy it for what it is.
2022-12-30
4. Nothing makes me more proud to be a degenerate - If you are tired of typical fishing content please just sit back press play and buckle up. Educational AND hilarious, this podcast balances everything from old school fishing humor to new techniques, storytelling, and all everything in between from charters to neighborhood ponds, off shore to Midwest. You won’t be disappointed
2022-12-28
5. Love Joe C - Best fishing podcast you will listen to, not for information and tips, but rather for fishing stories and culture in a way that only Joe Cermele can. I can tell you Joe is good with utter confidence because I have been following him since the earlier Hook Shots days and he is a great personality with a great sense of humor. Give it a listen, you won’t regret it.
2022-12-13
6. Awesome Podcast - One of … no THE GREATEST PODCAST I have come across. I’ve liked all his previous work but the whole drinking beers with the boys type setting makes it that much cooler. This guy is the Tom Brady of wordplay, the master of segways, the super savvy segment slinging striper setting savant of the century. Punk rock - Beer- fishing stories !!! come now, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, well then i imagine your fancy has been detached and tossed onto a ship with a cracked hull and broken prop headed for New Zealand.
2022-11-25
7. Joe’s a pro - I got turned onto Joe when he started the Bent podcast. Being a year old metal head, fisherman, hunter, chunker, part time Nintendo pro and now a fancy fly fisherman, I instantly gravitated to the podcast. He killed it with Miles and then later Hayden on bent. I was bummed when Joe and the meateater parted ways. I’ve kept up with Joe on the grams and was stoked when I saw he was starting a new podcast. I was worried that the new one wouldn’t hold up to past work(sorry Joe, don’t like when coke tries out Coke Zero), but Joe has gone above and beyond. My new favorite listen. If you like fishing, ’s references, conservation or just want a cool hang, we are . Great pod
2022-11-19
8. The Best - I’ve never been more bummed to have a show of any sort end more than I did when Bent stopped. Now I’ve never been more excited about a new show! Cut and Retie has fulfilled all my expectations and exceeded then with new a new format and segments. I’ll never tire of listening to Joe and the great guests he brings on.

1. Best gun/hunting/cooking podcast - From the genuine rapport the hosts share with one another and their guests, to the casual-yet-educational discourse, to the varied and interesting subject matter, one can rest assured of a good show no matter what. I have listened to so many drunk redneck gun podcasts - and I say this as a drunk redneck shooter - that this was a refreshingly sober and humorous take on the genre; there is no episode that fails to either educate or entertain or both with superb production value tacked on as a bonus.

2. Love the broadcast……but… - Absolutely love the information that comes from these experts. Look forward to every broadcast. But…..could do without the tension that clearly exists between Jim and Mark. When you two work together without the zingers the information is so much more authoritative and reliable. Thanks again for what you all bring to the table.
2022-05-10
3. -Ultra HQ- - I walked in to this one thinking “well, they’ll push their products and it might be an infomercial…” Not even close! Absolutely entertaining, extremely informative (even on topics that are outside my area of specific interest) and the production quality, clarity and audio levels are top notch. If there are other gun-centric pods that bring it as well, I’d like to find them, cause these guys are just fantastic.

4. magnification and only . - Love the podcast lots of great information!! I mostly hunt mule deer and elk here on the east side of Oregon So i would go with x that is where i like to set my scope from - yards i have the viper pst with the FFP so i like the size of the recital right around there. Also with the first buck I shot, I was using an older x and at the time I didn’t know you could adjust the magnification.... so i was at x the buck was with a doe and I couldn’t see his antlers through my scope. I had to use my knockers to see which deer was the buck. It was a forky so they had similar sized bodies if it was it older buck probably could have been able to tell difference. Kept having to go back and forth between knocker and rifle took what seemed like minutes until they both where standing still and i was able to see that the buck was lower on the hill and i was able to kill the buck. This was at yards. The Buck didn’t make it feet.

5. Great show - I really enjoy when one or a group of you go off on what your passionate about like certain types of guns or ammunition and how it works. Speaking confidently about how something works wether it is DI or piston AR and ballistics on a style of ammo. Reminds me of "smarter everyday " on YouTube "Destin" works/ed for the DOD and is able to theorize how something works and that is fascinating to me. Ps check out his channel for some sweet shooting /suppressed sound barrier information

6. Best “Hunting” technique talk podcast I’ve ever heard! - This podcast has always been up there when it comes to quality of content but Vortex, in my opinion has produced the best hunting technique podcast that I have ever listed to regarding high mountain hunting. Episode is ridiculously filled with content for high country hunting (mule deer, elk, bear...etc). Lampers and Warren share their hunting knowledge success and failure for hunting these high country animals. As well as their daily thriving techniques for mountain hunting. I high recommend this podcast for any hunter that heads into the mountains to hunt. Vortex really hit a grand slam on this podcast and the content is only getting better! stars all the way and two huge

7. ,th Rating!!! - If I understand the ratings correctly, I have the honor of being the ,th rating. The Vortex Nation Podcast is easily stars. It is both informative and entertaining as it keeps the listeners engaged from start to finish. The hosts and guests are knowledgeable and humorous while covering a wide variety of topics. I really appreciate the time and effort that Vortex puts into their products, and this one is no exception. Simply put, this is a great podcast from a great company. Thank you and keep it going!

8. Voila! Vortex: the Voice for Veterans! - Everything about Vortex screams “America”. These guys have an unmitigated passion for hunting, shooting, camping, the military, and EVERYTHING optics. The podcast is enlightening, nay, illuminating. They produce a wealth of knowledge on a myriad of subjects, and every episode, I walk away with a new fact, or idea, or point of view. Keep up the great work, guys!
