1. Best Tennis Podcast - This is by far the best tennis podcast. Thoughtful and insightful analysis. I just have one request. In the podcast notes, please add time stamps for each topic segment as many, if not most, other podcasts do; I don’t always have a whole hour to devote to any podcast and the time stamps allow me to jump to the segments I’m most interested in.

2. Meh… - Would like more tennis match discussion. A separate point: saying equal pay is fair without talking about WHY they believe it’s fair felt preachy to me. I have thought of it like the WNBA vs the NBA. Their salaries are a reflection of their draw of audience (live and tv ratings). If the host would pls explain THEIR reasons for advocating for equal pay then one can weigh them to be able to try to arrive at that same belief. Vs virtue signaling that it is fair and right but without offering the reasons doesn’t make a compelling argument for me. I (perhaps incorrectly) have understood the unequal pay to be a reflection of market interest, of advertising’s key demographics. I genuinely would like to have that belief challenged. Or perhaps direct listeners to resources about the matter, since you knew the topic would be discussed. The host attributed the apathy of WTA players on the matter to a lack of education. But I and prob others listeners would prob be that much MORE uninformed of the reasons as to why it would be fair. So a real loss of opportunity I felt.

3. Yes, please - This is a fantastic podcast. It has grown my love of the game. They are thoughtful podcasters that have intelligent discussions about the game, issues affecting the game, and issues affecting life and society. They strike a great balance. I’m a more knowledgeable tennis fan because of The Tennis Podcast.

4. Too much British emphasis but still the best. - British players are not a factor at the very top of men’s or women’s singles tennis. It’s ok to have a British-focused tennis podcast but if that’s the plan, it should be overt and mentioned in the show. THAT SAID! This is the best tennis podcast out there. Matt, David and Catherine are extremely knowledgeable about the sport and so fun to listen to. Their banter is funny, natural and just a joy to listen to. They cover all the major events and even the minor ones. Lots of extra goodies too if you become a “friend”. Ads are of reasonable length and amount. Keep up the good work!

5. Can't listen anymore due to political commentary - The tennis analysis on this podcast is top notch and fantastic. However, I had to delete the podcast from my library because I'm sick & tired of the social/cultural/political commentary about US politics & culture from foreigners that frankly, don't know what they are talking about. The first one or two or three times I could overlook it, but after the th or th time, I'm sick of it and can no longer listen. If I wanted to hear uninformed takes about American politics, I could go search out plenty of garbage out there. But on my sports podcasts I want to hear about sports.

6. Used to Love This Pod - When I started listening I used to love this podcast. But as time has gone on they just seem to get more and more full of themselves. Half the time they’re complaining about things and not even talking about tennis. Not only that but their knowledge of the game is severely lacking compared to most other tennis podcasts. Just disappointing to see the way the pod has gone downhill.

7. star podcast - I Love this Podcast so much! I have been listen for a few years now & I always listen to it ASAP when it comes out. It always makes me feel good—like I am listen to some of my friends talk about one of my favorite subjects—Tennis! I love their humor & the hard time they give each other about predictions or comments made (especially in the WhatsApp group chat). I have become a friend of the pod & I thank Catherine, David & Matt So Much for giving me such insight & behind the scenes info of all the tournaments and their own daily lives!! I can’t wait for more podcast & more time spent with the great minds of @thetennispodcast. Cheers

8. Less enjoyable than it used to be - I used to really love this podcast, it used to be a fun, niche sort of discussion of all things tennis. It’s still pretty good, but as it’s grown more popular I find there are more and more adverts, and the content I used to like best (mostly the relived segments) is paywalled. I don’t mind when the hosts discuss topical matters tangentially related to tennis (e.g., Ukraine, mental health, domestic violence accusations), but they all are inevitably coming from the same point of view that it gets monotonous. I do enjoy Matt’s stats when they come up.

9. “In the mix” - From the first time I listened to the Tennis Podcast at the beginning of this year after Nadal's heroic AO victory to today (or yesterday, whatever you call the :am amazing insight you gave post Alcaraz/Sinner), it's been a joy and privilege listening to the three of you. As someone who has been in the tennis world most of my life between playing, teaching, and a massive fan, I have never come across better insight and passion for the sport as the three of you display every week (and day at the majors!!). Thank you, thank you, thank you. To the three of you being "in the mix"-cheers!
2022-09-09
10. Sometimes - These three folks are very fun to listen to and they certainly have a passion for the game. However, I’ve noticed a clear penchant for identity politics in their pods. The hosts seem to gush over anybody who isn’t white or straight (it seems a bit patronizing ). I’m a black man and even I find it a little overcooked. Let’s just get back to liking people for who they are, not what they are. It’ll make the tennis podcast much more enjoyable.
2022-09-08
11. For the love of tennis!!! - A full fledge of fantastic takes on the game that connect me the tour. The personalities of the podcast are interesting, honest, fun, and smartly contagious to listen to. As a long time fan of the sport, the tennis podcast is a valuable asset to those who are following the tour and for those who are fringe supporters will have a greater appreciation for sport after listening.
2022-08-17
12. My Must Listen - I have been a longtime casual fan of tennis, but once I started listening to The Tennis Podcast a couple years ago, I got hooked on the sport. They keep me energized and interested in tennis year round, sharing stories beyond the big . The rapport among David, Katharine, and Matt is great (though you may need to listen for a few episodes to settle into their banter and friendship). Their Grand Slam coverage in particular is awesome, with daily recaps and is my must listen podcast every morning.
2022-08-14
13. One thing bothers me - Good content, but one constructive criticism for hosts: When a co-host is making a point you agree with, there is no need for the Oprah-style moaning just to prove you are listening. We presume you are listening. It serves to interrupt and distract from our listening to the person who is talking.
2022-07-13
14. The only podcast you need - There is some alchemy at work here that combines to make this the most engaging and pleasant podcast out there. Week in and week out the insights are great and the amount of time spent on the most interesting stories and players is always correct. Great stuff, looking forward to listening for a long time.
2022-07-06
15. A Joyous Listening Experience - Any tennis fan who doesn’t listen to the Tennis Podcast is really missing out. The Tennis Podcast has deepened my enjoyment of the game. The three hosts bring complementary strengths and perspectives, along with thoughtfulness and humor. (The famous incident where Catherine was stung by a bee while recording was especially memorable, as was their breathless recounting last Wimbledon of a visit by Billie Jean King and Ileana Kloss where they all hung out for the evening.)
2022-07-04
16. fun and informative - love listening to the pod - been a fan/friend for a few years and even went back to the beginning in order to survive pandemic lockdowns. great rapport between the hosts, excellent historical rabbit holes, and fun chats with great guests like Mary Carillo and Pam Shriver. plus dogs!
2022-06-30
17. Vehicle for Catherine’s Far-Left politics - Catherine’s sidekicks David and Matt occasionally chime in to agree with whatever she says. Her points exemplifying the “patriarchy” in tennis include “unfair” time slots of women’s matches (she thinks ratings shouldn’t matter), too many men coaching women, menstrual periods, bashing Zverev, etc. She rehashes these issues during press conferences. Avoid this podcast if you don’t want to preached to.
2022-06-24
18. Favorite Pod - This podcast keeps me up to date on the professional tennis goings on, and more. Catherine, David and Matt are top-notch presenters and absolutely hilarious. I’ve been listening for a few years now, but just joined Friends of the Podcast to get even more. Besides, who wouldn’t want to be friends with any of these three?
2022-06-21
19. Solid Tennis Analysis/Unrefined political thought - Tennis analysis is refined and truly deep. Knowledge of the game and background of all players on tour is impressive. The podcast is quite tarnished by the elementary and shallow political thoughts. It takes a lot of time to follow the tennis as well as u all do; best to focus on that OR you can actually spend time refining your knowledge on world politics before speaking foolishly.
2022-06-02
20. Hooked - I have been steadily listening to the tennis podcast for months and it has become a feature I look forward to each week. Matt, Catherine and David provide unique perspectives and updates on my favorite sport. They are articulate reporters and collegiality abounds in their discussions! They have added to my vocabulary and provided humor on many occasions. Listening to the joy of David at Philippe Chartier, Catherine’s description of Iga’s « baked in confidence », or Matt’s tricky predictions makes for a delightful podcast and I am thrilled to be a Friend!

21. A little too pc but overall a good listen - I enjoy this podcast a lot. The hosts are knowledgeable and the right amount of fun/lighthearted/occasionally self deprecating. I also like that they’re quite positive, although sometimes it can get a little annoying that it feels like they’re scared of ever offending everyone. I was VERY unimpressed when Catherine raced to defend Wimbledon’s ban of Russian and Belarusian players on the most recent episode, especially with what frankly was very flimsy reasoning, but Matt redeemed the podcast by making some very good counterpoints. I still would have liked for them to try to explore why banning tennis players from Wimbledon even has any relevance to the war though because I didn’t think they did. Otherwise, I think they have a good balance of not being scared of controversial subjects but also not only talking about them. I do still wish they could be a little less pc though, but I’m guessing they’re too prominent to risk clashing with any of tennis’s power structures so they do a good job within those confines.

22. A depth of knowledge. - I find it shocking that I’ve never done a review for this podcast. As I listen to it every week. And I listen to the daily slam episodes daily. It is the best tennis podcast you can find anywhere on the Internet. Catherine is a TV host for Amazon prime for tennis and she just has all the insights and knowledge and is extremely passionate about tennis and it’s wonderful to hear her perspective as she is a millennial. And then you have David who is Lawless, and is older and has been in the tennis game for quite a while working for the Queens club in England. He brings a wealth of knowledge although be at a bit different than Catherine’s but it’s great to have different perspectives. And then there is Matt Roberts that is one person. He is the youngest of the three barely I will O’Neill and he is very data driven and has a lot of statistical information that he creates himself. Between the three of them you get an expansive view of the tennis world interesting outlooks and much more. It is % worthwhile to download and have a listen. This review was written (voice to text) whilst walking my two dogs and I did not spell check

23. Pretty good - Pretty good. They know their tennis history and facts. Their match analyses are often times quite pretentious, though, and full of far-fetched analogies about anything and everything (e.g., the story arc of [insert tennis match] was reminiscent of [insert bizarre analogy “the Greek myth of such and such”]. It’s a bit much sometimes. But overall, pretty good.
2022-04-22
24. What a revelation from Pam Shriver - Guys, it says a lot about your team that the great Pam Shriver could trust you with her story. This is nothing short of a scoop. I empathize with her because the coach, being the adult, shouldn’t have gone ahead with a relationship. I understand the times are different and hope WTA and other professional sports groups make efforts to stop the practice
2022-04-20
25. Use to be a fan, but got tired of being lectured - The hosts have good rapport and know their tennis, but I got tired of hearing how everything is a part of a sexist conspiracy to oppress women. It’s a big leap of logic to see how grand slam tie breaks are sexist, but they took that one as well as many others.

2. Best Tennis Podcast - Renee and Caitlin have such a great dynamic with one another. Could listen to them all day. Renee is an excellent interviewer and Caitlin always offers an interesting perspective, leaving tennis fans with something to think about. Renee’s experience as a player and coach is greatly valued by this listener. Together, they nailed todays podcast on Serena Williams retirement and provided some insight on some other player’s like Nick, Naomi and Emma and where they might go leading up to the US Open! Keep up the good work! It’s much appreciated!

3. Really Ladies? - You finally after years get to interview the great Venus Williams and you don’t mike her up properly? So what you get is Renae screaming and Venus whispering? Impossible to listen to. What a lost opportunity. I stopped after minutes. And Renae’s questions are so banal. You all just lost a listener. There are so many better tennis podcasts out there.

4. Love it! - I am a total tennis geek/junkie and this podcast is perfect for me!! I wish I could join in on their conversations. They get in-depth about the tennis world in a way that none of my friends can/do. I love the variety of people they interview and I love how honest they are. I wish the podcast was longer! I could listen all day. It would be fun if they interviewed a chair umpire or tournament director. I appreciate the player interviews the most though. Any tennis fan will love this podcast!

5. Loads of fun for the Tennis Fan! - So glad to have found the Racquet Magazine Podcast!
Caitlyn and Rennae, joined here by Pro Player Sam Stosur, hold court from Indian Wells, post cancellation of the tourney. They update us on this year’s tennis-to-date, and speculate on what may lie ahead for the tennis season. Great fun & such an entertaining listen!

6. BEST PODCAST EVER - OMG. How did it take me so long to find this podcast!!?? I’m a bit sad that I’m so late to the game. But also super super happy that I finally found it. As a crazy tennis fan - this is hands down my favorite podcast ever. I’m a bit obsessed at the moment. I always hear them saying “we need to end the podcast because it’s too long” ... I can’t speak for everyone. But ladies - I would totally listen to a - hours podcast of yours :) haha. I love you! Great job!!! Rene and petko

7. Great podcast, mediocre audio - The content of this podcast is excellent. The host and guests are professional, interesting, and entertaining with a tremendous amount of tennis experience and insider knowledge. Unfortunately, their studio and mics are not of the same caliber. It sounds a little like they’re recording from a bathroom or cave. All that would be needed to drastically improve the audio, one would think, would be a high-quality warm mic, and some acoustic panels or sound blankets. I encourage more people to subscribe to the magazine and podcast so they can afford to do this
2019-08-27
8. Old school tennis - Love the magazine and podcast! Down to earth, knowledgeable and good at letting the guests talk. Look forward to each new episode. One question. From my husband. On TV coverage and they show family members, coaches, et al of the players why can’t they put their names on the screen???
2019-07-05
9. I keep tuning in.... - I love tennis and I love tennis podcasts. I'm always excited to tune into this program because you have great guests. But oftentimes I don't make it to the guests because I get so distracted by the music bed that is playing during the first several minutes of the podcast. The music is not for me, but even if I were a fan of it, I find it very hard to hear your introduction. It seemed to last a particularly long time on the Casey Dellacqua opening. I want to like this podcast more and really wish I could turn that music off. It's a trivia complaint but it distracts from the experience I'm hoping to get. Thank you..

1. Best tennis podcast, please do more! - I got back into tennis a few months ago and have the bug bad. I searched through a lot of podcasts for expert advice and found this via Tennis Files (another great tennis podcast). Jonathan Stokke is the real deal, so are his guests, and each podcast is dense with high-impact tips and yet a lightness of conversation that makes listening to minutes effortless. A model discourse not just for athletes and sports enthusiasts, but for any thinking person. I could go on, but will just say this show delivers on everything I want: experts weighing in on tennis’ big questions in entertaining fashion while helping me (free of charge I might add) become a better, smarter player. Thanks for all you do!
2022-11-13
2. Good podcast. Wish it can be more down to earth though - It’s among the better podcast out there. The host asks good questions. But questions are more centered for high level players and not so much for club level players. What’s the population at pro and high level junior compared to players who are . - .? I’d think it’s probably :. I wish the host can visit local tennis courts at park or visit some . USTA matches to get some ideas and can ask more “down to earth “ questions in the future episodes.
2022-02-21
3. Smart and simple - I love this podcast for two reasons: . It emphasizes the cerebral approach to tennis, which can really be applied to all athletics. . Competing at a high level can feel like you are mentally living in the fast lane, but Baseline Intelligence focuses on the importance of slowing down your mind and keeping everything simple. Can’t wait for more episodes.

1. Excellent podcast on the least practiced part of the game - In competitive tennis the mental side is at least % of the game if not more but very few coaches coach it and very few players train it. The Tennis IQ podcast does an excellent job of discussing, exploring, and strategizing ways to be mentally prepared for all the different stressors you can and will run into if you compete in tennis long enough. Excellent hosts, excellent topics, and excellent guests! Can’t recommend more to tennis players wanting to improve their game. As a bonus, plenty of the strategies and advice given are not just great tennis lessons but great life lessons :) Keep it up guys!

1. Love All - I absolutely enjoy listening to these podcasts! Every time I listen to one I am anxious to hit the tennis court and try some of the strategies Will talks about. The interviews are also excellent. I’ve played doubles with Will for a while and he definitely has helped me improve my game on court as well!
2021-08-03
2. Excellent thoughtful interviews - Will has a rare talent. He knows how to interview people well. He know how to pace the conversation & ask the right questions at the right time. He’s calm & thorough. The results are super interesting and sometimes fascinating insights into doubles tennis. The interview with Christo Van Rensburg was one of the best I’ve heard. Highly recommended.
2021-05-01
3. Great for tennis mindset! - Listened to this podcast on the way to my league match, and I played the best tennis I’ve played all year! Something about listening to an interview with an ATP champion (versus my usual political podcasts) got me ready, focused, and in the right mind to play. Definitely going to listen before my next league match as well.
2020-11-21
4. Filling a Much-Needed Void in Tennis Podcasts - The tennis podcast space is exploding - but no one is focusing on doubles. It’s great to finally have a tennis podcast featuring doubles exclusively. This is great for any tennis fans/players looking to hear from professional players, coaches and experts in our sport offering their insight on doubles. Highly recommend.

1. Gruskin takes criticism with grace and maturity - Rating upgraded! Tennis players come in the following flavors: salty, extra salty, Himalayan sea salt, and salt & vinegar. Alex took my extra salty review in stride and followed it up with multiple impressive podcasts with the poetic David Kane and the consummate professional Gil Gross. If you’re going to have Super Stars on your show you gotta let ‘em shine! You learn more from the losses in tennis than the wins and I’m now confident Alex “The Octopus” Gruskin will work hard to improve and obviously responds to listener feedback ;) Btw, thanks for alerting me to Ben Shelton early! The way you went on about him was irritating for a while but you were right, that guy is awesome! ::::::::: Original Review Starts Here ::::::::: So tired of listening to Alex interrupt guests that are more interesting than he is. He seems so insecure that he has to talk over guests that he invites to the show like it’s a competition. Also, if tennis players were a binary system Alex proves he is a in the January th episode of Great Shot Podcast with Author Toure. Alex’s views on Toure playing tennis as an adult are embarrassing and moronic. Stop reading stats off of tennisabstract.com and stop eating on the air you. Amateur hour at best.
2023-03-13
2. Best Tennis Podcast - I love how Alex Gruskin know absolutely everything that is tennis and college tennis. He is the best Michigan Tennis Fan of all time, although they publish the podcast sometimes too late, they still do a good job. The guests are amazing as well, the way they talk about tennis and the tournaments is amazing, its crazy how they know so much stats about players and matches. They have to talk about more rising stars in my opinion, they just talk about Alcaraz and the Top Ten. I always crack up when he says “The Lean Mean Vegan Machine” when introducing Chris Halioris. Overall, the best tennis podcast.
2023-03-07
3. Very Good - Alex is pretty incredible at what he does. To be able to host a (almost) daily podcast and know so much about all these various matches (even college tennis which I could care less about), both men’s and women’s tours, is extremely impressive. He has a gift of gab, and can really talk about tennis. He can even pull off almost hour long shows by himself. Often, he does have good guests which add a solid element and back and forth to the show. Nate and David are highlights along with Gil gross. Overall, a great show. I think he’s got some connections in American tennis so he’s not one to criticize players (see Maddy Keys and Coco Gauff) which can be annoying but I get it. But, seriously, admit it, Coco’s forehand is a huge problem! Have a show about it! Please. Anyway, keep up the good work. You’re great at what you do.
2023-03-06
4. Perfect pod for diehard ATP/WTA fans! - This podcast is a must listen for tennis fans who want to know what's happening on any given week across both tours. Alex covers every tournament, every week, making sure to give each event their time and let listeners know what match ups and storylines they should watch for. It's rare to have someone like Alex who speaks so passionately and expertly about both tours' events. He genuinely finds things to be excited about each week in the long and winding tennis calendar. It's the perfect podcast for diehard fans or fans who just want a quick catch up on recent tennis action!
2022-10-05
5. Love daily podcasts miss them when he is on the road - Alex is great, funny and informative Love that he talks about all the players in top , and the up and coming ones Because contemplations concerning RF, Rafa and Novak are overdone, Love that his podcasts are daily and up to date. He is engaging solo or with a guest
2022-10-05
6. So tired of the too-fast talking and over-talking - I know there is food information there but the host has a voice problem as well as a much-too-fast delivery problem. When there are guests. The host speaks over them. I heard the acid reflux excuse, but I think that is just part of the problem. Maybe adjust the medication? It’s just too hard to listen to. Hire someone to do the podcasting and stick to print.
2022-06-17
7. More Consistency Please - So much potential here, but no consistency. I want to hear about WTA and ATP tennis, but then the host does nothing but challenger/college/his own personal age and tennis playing…come on now! The eating / burping / mouth sounds scream “I’m not professional.” Last week he said Swiatek “won her first” . Really? Who could forget the Rome double bagel. Alex you can do better!!!
2022-03-04
8. Just a bad guy. - This show only exists because of the hard work and talent of professional tennis players, yet the host cheerily repeats incendiary, UNPROVEN allegations against them, promoting libelous smear campaigns written by his oily friends in the “news” media. Vicious, small and uncalled for behavior from a guy whose “value” consists of quoting publicly available tennis statistics. Don’t waste your time with this classless, useless podcast.
2021-09-13
9. Great info but could be more valuable - This is my main tennis podcast and one of the best around, but he relies too much on recapping matches instead of giving tennis fans valuable predictions based off whatever info he finds valuable. Anyone can look at results and recap matches but not many people can give you tips and predict matches before they happen. The host is very knowledgeable and giving predictions would take this podcast to the next level but he banks on recap and gives stats after the fact which limits its potential and value to the listener
2021-04-29
10. Love the quality coverage - Alex is so smooth and knowledgeable running the show, putting his guests and co-hosts at ease throughout. Great content/format for the show and always love to hear MattStach’s perspective, from juniors to college to the pro circuit - he does it all. Keep up the great work guys.

1. My previous review was stars - I have loved this podcast but over the past months the pod has been inconsistent and not regularly released. Which is extremely frustrating. On top if this your the recent guest Buck Sexton! Are you kidding, giving a platform to this dangerous man? Who will come on next to talk about the world being flat? Then the MD insanely contradicting himself about Djokovic. Wasn’t the point of the ban in Australia that sports people are an example and Djokovic refusing to be vaccinated removes him as a role model? Patrick what’s going on?
2022-07-30
2. ESPN coverage AustralianOpen - Love your show Patrick. You are as great an interviewer and Podcast host as you were a player. Fun to discover a tennis podcast. BUT just hated the ESPN coverage of the AO. Often not enough time allowed to the matches on ESPN so we had to get creative with our DVRs’ or accidentally miss the end of the match. Kept missing great matches that you were promoting. But most infuriating is having to pay for more coverage on ESPN . So sad to not have ESPN cover more of the tournament rather than requiring fans to sign up for more streaming sites. And today, Saturday after the Women’s final, OUTRAGEOUS that the mens’ doubles finals doesn’t just come after the women’s final on ESPN. Please work on ESPN on behalf of all of us devoted tennis players and followers of the Grand Slams. If you want more fans, just don’t make it so hard and expensive and infuriating One star for ESPN. Five stars for Patrick Thanks.
2022-01-29
3. Had to turn it off - Maybe I have not listened to enough episodes but the one about Novak DjokovicToday was nothing but mean and opinions. You talk like he didn’t follow the rules but the rules are that a medical exemption is part of the deal. There was no doubt which side of the aisle you guys were on. I hope Novak goes all the way and wins. There are plenty of players on his side although you say the players are against him in the locker room. Just ask Venus what she thinks.

4. Consistently great listen - Patrick does an excellent job with this podcast in so many ways. He selects guests who are experts in their field, but also articulate and engaging. The conversation is very fluid and the discussion routinely reveals something I didn’t know about the subject. The conversation is serious but also is able to stay light and personal. In these days of real division and somewhat bleak newscasts, Holding Court is deeply appreciated escape and informative listen.

5. Great interview with Liz! - Very insightful about dear Roger. He does want to go out playing the best he can at a particular moment. I agree with you Patrick. Perhaps you can get Christopher Clarey on with you. His book on RF is out in a week. Or perhaps later after it becomes apparent what will happen with Roger’s career.

6. Pushing political agenda - Another millionaire tennis professional pushing a liberal agenda and constantly equating it with morality. These tennis professionals are in such a one-sided group think that they don’t even appear to realize that half of the United States doesn’t agree with them and would rather debate these topics in a healthy productive manner then constantly hear shallow political statements presented as fact. “Social justice” awareness is a political agenda and is not the same thing as cancer awareness or domestic abuse awareness and should not be presented as “good for America” because only half of America feels this way. Only political liberals will enjoy this podcast. Unsubscribe.

7. Great Pod & Hungry For More! - Great conversations with a wide variety of guests, using tennis as undergirding! PMac does a phenomenal job being an engaged interviewer, allowing his guest to say his/her piece and responding with relevant follow ups. Every time I get to the end of an episode, I’m dumbstruck that it has end! C’mon PMac, don’t just give us a fast-four match, give us a five set thriller!!

8. What Variety! - What a relaxed and interesting format. Mr. McEnroe has a really unique way to frame his interviews around the central theme of tennis that takes off quicker than his serve. And the guest offer just as much variety. There will be something for everyone whether you’re a music fan, film buff, or have your own racket. Recommended.

9. Awesome - Patrick McEnroe is the consummate podcast host. He oozes talent as he demonstrates all of the virtues that has made him a great athlete, leader and media professional. His humility and positive energy set the backdrop for A list guests in what is sure to become a top podcast across all genres.
2020-04-20
10. Absolute ACE - Pat has an affable, easy way about him. Im a longtime fan of his commentating as he manages to be both professional and accessible and wildly humble. This podcast resonates for me. I’m a huge tennis fan and Pat finds really interesting guests outside the tennis world and tells the story of their love of the game. Truly well done.

1. Good - Good tidbits of advice. Image training has worked a lot for me (hope Patrick does a segment on it). Example: if I watch the Goran/Rafter final, and imagine that I'm Goran (with that determined serve) during a tourney, I ace A LOT. If not, I choke. It works.
Good Podcast but wish the advertising would be toned down.

Introducing Kamau Murray as the new host of the Tennis.com Podcast. As a tennis coach and community leader, tune in each week to hear Kamau interview prolific guests and players, and discuss what really goes on behind the scenes of the tennis tour.
Release date: 2023-03-21
Comments
1. Consistency - The guests are always going to be interesting. There will be insightful commentary from sort of backstage on the tour. Kamau Will mention that he’s a coach and has an Academy and will specifically refer to Sloane Stephens. He will ask many of the same questions like least favorite stop on tour which the smart players will not answer.
2022-08-10
2. This is an exceptional Podcast - Kamau: this is a great podcast. You have interesting guests, and because of your insider knowledge and background you ask exceptional questions. The interview with Mal Washington was so interesting and helped me get to know a guy who I followed as a kid but didn’t really know. Your interview with Ben Rothenberg was also great - it wasn’t a boring consensus discussion - you both pushed back and I heard perspectives on the Naomi debate and other topics that I had not heard anywhere else. Looking forward to more episodes and wishing you the best with XS.
2021-08-06
3. Great pod! - The audio is a little low, but other than that, I’m really liking this pod. Enjoyed the episode with Billy Jean a lot. Just listed to the Ben Rothenberg, must say, I agree with Ben on everything re: Osaka. I’m a big tennis fan, played into college, and agree that press is necessary, and yes of course they should ask about losses and problems with their game, come on! If an athlete is not mentally strong enough to answer questions about losses, I’m not sure they should’ve chosen professional athlete as a profession. There is a way to drown that stuff out, it may take practice, and be a lot harder for some than others, but so is perfecting an ace. For some, mental conditioning is harder than physical conditioning, but both are required to be a professional, celebrated athlete, it takes practice. Answering questions about your father who passed away, is one thing, but answering questions about your tennis game & matches is % relevant and just. That being said, I think there is SOO much room for the tennis media and those press conferences to positively change. They are kind of boring and outdated, and the players do always look like they’d rather be somewhere else. Brainstorming ideas on how to change press conferences to be more positive for players and entertaining for fans, and use them as a way to bring non-fans into the game by celebrating the athletes during their ups and downs
2021-06-16
4. Used to be a ( star) podcast - I wish they would have given some warming before changing out hosts like that. I mean Kamau is a good host, but Irina Falconi and Nina Pantic had the right mix of professionalism and fun, as they had background in the game, Nina and Irina were each college tennis players, and Irina is a top- pro tennis player. They would share the stage with the guests, as they could add their own experiences to their guests’. I hope in the future they will replace the host with other tennis players/ journalists, or Irina and Nina again.
2021-06-09
5. Love the podcast! - Nina Pantic makes this podcast! She is a fantastic host and her warm personality enables her guests to feel comfortable immediately. Although her wine knowledge is 'very bad', she definitely makes up for it with her tennis expertise. Her knowledge on the game, the players and current situations affecting the ATP&WTA tour are very impresssive and a main reason as to why I subsribe to Tennis.com. The wide range of players they have on the podcast make every episode very interesting to tennis junkies like me. Can't wait to see what Nina and the team have for us in !!
2021-01-06
6. Gets better and better - This podcast gets better with age and now I am thrilled with it. There were some kinks to work out at first- editing, content, etc and these have been resolved. This is an example of someone trying something, taking their criticism and improving for success. Great job. more of matt on the show!!!
2020-12-30
7. Decent, could be better - Nina does a solid job of keeping the focus on the interviewee. While I find it a bit awkward when the subject cracks a joke and Nina is dead silent, you can tell she knows how to interview a person. Irina is clearly not an experienced interviewer. She spends way too much time talking about herself and keeps interrupting the subject. But overall an improvement on the deadly dull Ed and Steve.
2019-09-18
8. Great writer but podcast lacks crispness - I love Jon’s writing on SI: it’s thoughtful; witty; and balanced. This podcast, however, doesn’t have the same punch. First, the production sounds almost Wayne’s World-esque. I think a little polish is in order. Second, I think Jon could be better prepared to interview his guests instead of having chummy conversations with them or making the conversation about Jon. Seems like a missed opportunity to really help the listener hear from the guests. My $..
2019-04-03
9. The new hosts aren’t very talented - I used to enjoy this podcast but Nina and the other co-host have the charisma of an apple. I don’t want to be mean but they are just painful to listen to. Monotone voices, zero broadcasting experience (at least let’s hope so). It’s a shame because it used to be pretty good but I have unsubscribed. I miss Ed McGrogan and Steve. This Nina person is just terrible.
2019-01-14
10. Quite possibly the greatest my ears have ever seen - I promise I don’t know the hosts, but they sound hot AF. Plus they know their sportz. Super chill and insightful. I never miss a pod. Did I mention how super chill they are. I LOOOOVE tennis! And I LOOOOVE this podcast. It’s sooo chill. Tsis tsis tsss
2019-01-07
11. Newcomer of the year...huh? - I tried to enjoy this podcast but.....Newcomer of the year? Michael Mhoh and/or Tsitsipas? You begin by saying the category is someone who has completed their first full season on tour and then award it to Mhoh - whom you note has been a around for a few years already and Tsitsipas who was at the Next Gen finals and played a full season last year. Huh? And why does it matter what type of body a player has when Tennis has always been the sport where the racquet equalizes body diffs ie. Rosewell, Hewitt, Goffin, Henin and Halep. How could you not even mention the yo Alex de Minaur who just won the ATP newcomer of the year award voted on by the players Alex improved from to this season. From AO wildcard playoff to possibly being seeded at the AO a year later. I guess he doesn’t have the right body type, like Mhoh, whom, I repeat he beat recently.
2018-11-19
12. Issues outweigh the small amount of value - This is not a good tennis podcast. The second star in the rating is because the hosts are reasonably (though not overly) knowledgeable about tennis. But they both sound as if they have had little to no broadcasting training, sound the same, and speak in a dull monotone throughout. Unless you are looking for a cure for insomnia, steer clear. Also, a pet peeve of mine is when commentators don’t take the time to learn how to properly pronounce player’s names. I understand it when someone is a new player making a breakthrough, but in the most recent episode ( Oct ) they butcher both Muguruza and Pliskova’s names- big time players in the WTA finals. Either laziness or they don’t care, but in my book it’s just disrespectful. These guys should stick to writing stuff.
2016-10-24
13. better than nothing - There is a paucity of tennis podcasts available (compared to more popular sports), so I guess you take what you can get. The analysis is okay, if conventional. The commentators are pretty humorless and sometimes make mistakes (i.e., in the latest episode, saying Wawrinka beat Djokovic in the semifinals at AO. It was the quarterfinals; he beat Berdych in the semis). The one thing that is really annoying is the frequent mispronunciation of players’ names—in particular “Fognini.” I don’t even like Fabio Fognini, but it is incredibly grating to hear the Ed McGrogan say "Fog-nini." Also, “Ber-ditch.” Seriously? AAARGH please learn how to say the names! How hard is it??? I really wish there were better tennis podcasts out there. Tennis coverage in general seems to lag behind other sports in terms of intelligent commentary. Don’t even get me started on the TV coverage.
2015-01-17
14. When did this podcast become a monthly? - Hey guys, I love the informative and intelligent tennis conversation, but why do you make us wait so long between episodes? We're coming off a Davis Cup weekend in which the US played a home tie but you haven't released a podcast in over three weeks. We still haven't heard your takes on the Wimbledon finals. What gives? I'd love to give more stars because I can't find this type of content anywhere else, but you've gotta give us something once a week or so.

1. Makes me look forward to Mondays (or anytime Gil releases a show) - I listen to many tennis podcasts but what I luv about Gil’s analysis is his ability to make them interesting, insightful, & easy to understand. I share shows w/tennis fans in other countries & it makes ME feel smart when I can reference something “Gil said” Keep it up Gil. I also like hearing you on Tennis Channel & your banter w/Gruskin. I’m all-in on tennis. Thank you.

2. Amazing analysis - I have been listening to Gill for years on YouTube. While I prefer YouTube to see those brows, happy to have podcast format for the road. In terms of Tennis, Gill knows his stuff! He is fair and unbiased for the most part. I think someone of his knowledge should recognize the greatness of Djokovic already but he tries to keep it neutral/muted to not polarize his viewers. (The Slice and CoffeeBreakTennis shows have been more easily ready to pundit on Novak’s class - but Gill is more of a match by match analyst anyways). Gill has done well to use his platform to get coveted TV spots and draw his fan base to that medium. I look forward to Gill being the voice of tennis in a later generation. He has already put in the hard work and is now just biding his time. He has great connections with other analysts that he brings on his show which is a treat for listeners. I wish he was able to have more interactions with players or their coaches though. I think players would enjoy talking the Xs and Os with him and growing their reach with Gill’s tens of thousands of fans. If you are looking to enjoy watching tennis matches more, listen to Monday Match Analysis so you can view the match like a pro!
2023-02-01
3. Best Tennis Podcast Out there - Gil gives the best analysis I’ve heard. His analsyis on players strengths and weaknesses as well as matches is always spot on. He doesn’t do schtick, and though he talks about issues in tennis when they arise, he isn’t biased or political, unlike another popular tennis podcast where one of the hosts is far too “woke” and political. His other podcast “Three” is also brilliant with Joel Drucker and Amy Lundy. Keep up the awesome work!
2022-06-10
4. Djoko -Nadal Rome - As a tennis fan but non-tennis player, I learned a lot from this analysis. I also appreciated how you asked Amy to explain the tennis court zones (a,b,c) on . Anyway, I noticed that the nd serve point % won was lower than normal for Rafa. Isn’t that normally a key stat to win for Rafa? Or is it because Djoko return is too good? Maybe you all could explain on some time. Thanks.

5. Incredibly informative & smart tennis analysis - Monday Match Analysis has deepened my understanding and love of tennis. Gil Gross provides frequent and comprehensive analysis of all things ATP: matches, tournaments, players, and trends. His views and insights are smart, thoughtful, and creative, and often convincingly weave together intuition with supportive data. Regular interviews with other tennis writers & players provide additional perspectives. In short, it’s fantastic!
2020-05-27
6. Easily the highlight of my Mondays - Gill’s Monday Match Analysis is super entertaining and informative for any tennis fan. He breaks down classic matches and finals and analyzes the tactics and flow of each match, while discussing the importance of the matches. Gill also manages to remain unbiased, something that is very rare on any tennis channel as certain players have a cult-like following. For any fan of pro men’s tennis or any player looking to get better by seeing what the best do, this podcast is great. It helps you see matches from a new perspective and enjoy the tactical warfare all the more.
2020-05-21
7. Extremely Entertaining Tennis Analysis - Gill Gross provides entertaining, informative, in-depth, and unbiased tennis analysis. This includes analysis of both the technical and the psychological aspects of tennis. He regularly reads comments from viewers on the show, and has guests such as Steve Flink. He is funny and personable. Always a very satisfying watch.

1. A few things - I enjoy your show Rec tennis time between points is shorter than the Pros. seconds for USTA rec players and for Pros. Qualifying matches at the US Open traditionally, save for a year or two prior to a Covid, has always been free of charge. And ladies, these are professional players ranked between and in the world. They play like it. A main draw birth in the US Open is a payday that will make or break their year financially. Although they do now earn pay for qualifying rounds, but I’m not sure of the structure or if it includes all rounds. I laughed at the crowd calling the ball portion. I can’t tell you the number of times I’d been in the chair or on a line (at the US Open, Indian Well, Miami, or another ATP event) and the crowd was wildly incorrect on the call. Linespeople are trained on how to see and call the ball as well as the chair umpire. They are not always correct, but their accuracy is astounding, even in the age of Hawkeye live. Say hello to Rebel Goode, who I used to call Rebel Bad. Take care and keep hitting

2. Entertaining and enjoyable way to learn about playing league tennis. - I happened upon this great pod a few years ago while searching for ways to LISTEN to ways to improve my tennis game. For those who run, walk or drive a lot and need to listen to tennis tips, this is a great pod for you! Carolyn and Erin are fun, you feel like you are talking with your favorite tennis captains while they explain rules, how to handle things that happen on the court and be inspired to improve your game.

3. Fun, informative and all things tennis! - A tennis friend recommended this podcast a couple months ago, and I have to say I’m absolutely hooked! I love this podcast!! Erin and Carolyn have great chemistry together as the hosts. They have fun and interesting guests on their show and week is something new about tennis! I have learned things about tennis I didn’t know before, heard funny and interesting stories, and listening each week has deepened my appreciation and love for tennis. This show is an awesome listen for any level tennis player in any walk of life. Highly recommend

4. For the Love of the game - If you’re a recreational player who loves tennis and laughing, check out this podcast. Erin and Carolyn pose the interesting questions and situations that come up on (and off) the court of USTA tennis. If you thought you were the only one still competing or running into some conundrums, listen in-you’re not alone. And adult tennis is all about the love of the game. This podcast helps share it!

5. Phenomenal Podcast!!! - Carolyn and Erin are wonderful! The topics they cover are wide ranging and informative. I love that each podcast is only - minutes long but they are able to delve deeply into each topic. It's nice to find a podcast geared toward average players and not pros. I've learned so much... I can't wait to listen to the next one!
2020-10-27
6. I’m learning so much! - I’ve really enjoyed each of the episodes and have learned something new each time. I’m new to adult tennis and trying to get up the nerve to join a team after taking some lessons. This podcast answers so many of my questions and gives me lots of encouragement. I like the short format too. Very well done.
2020-07-06
7. Always have time to listen - When I was first introduced to Second Serve, I really wanted to listen but waited until I could ‘carve out’ - mins of interrupted time in my busy day. I was so pleased to learn they are typically not more than minutes! As a complete beginner, the information is so helpful and relatable! AND funny, now I love listening while I am running so minutes is a non-issue. Great information, great people, great job!! I love it!
2020-07-06
8. Unique and informative! - Most tennis podcasts talk about pro athletes. But what about me? Sure, my shot at Wimbledon is probably over, but I’d still like to hear advice about competitive tennis for my level and Second Serve fills that need. The topics are definitely helpful and I learning something new with each episode.
2020-06-29
9. Great tennis podcast for beginners and advanced players! - I’ve told all my tennis friends that they HAVE to listen to this podcast!! It’s real info and advice from regular tennis-loving adults like me. Every other tennis podcast seems to be about technique, strategy or interviewing someone that has played their whole lives and are at a level that I will never attain. This podcast is original!
2020-06-24
10. Great info - nothing else like it - I love this podcast! As a kid, I played tennis with friends and family, not competitively. As an adult, I picked up a tennis racket again after years of not playing at all. It was a bit intimidating to get back into a sport where most people seemed light years ahead of me. This podcast would have been really helpful for me starting out. But even after having played as an adult for a few years, the topics are very informative and helpful. I learn something new each episode! New and experienced players will all benefit from this show! Keep up the good work!!
2020-06-23
11. Second Serve - This podcast is great for anyone looking to get involved in adult tennis whether for fun or competitive reasons as it addresses realistic topics that players at all levels can relate to today. Most of the episodes are around min long and are well structured and to the point of each topic.

1. These guys are great! - I had listened to a couple episodes a while ago, but wasn’t a regular listener. I don’t know what changed, but now I’m hooked, and it’s the podcast I’m happiest to see with an update. I love all the tennis talk, the willingness to admit that they don’t know everything or maybe got something wrong, and the non-tennis discussions. I love their dynamic as a couple; there’s just enough bickering, while the love and respect shines through.
2022-09-14
2. Easy, breezy tennis chat - I love this podcast. I’m a fairly new listener. I enjoy the humor - not sure it’s intentional, which makes it funnier. Jonathan finally making it to the US on the train and walking faster than most to the Tennis Center cracked me up! Continue being unaffected and brining us your (mostly) candid thoughts about all things tennis. P.S. I love the opening sound byte of Venus to start each show.
2022-09-06
3. Best to you both! - Long time listener to, cup sipper of, and tennis server of The Body Serve. As a child of Jamaica, my love of Tia Maria has led me to have a unique coffee liqueur driver. Room temp Baileys yes in winter. On ice on a warm breezy late night. The glug is awesome! To be fair, my mother is from Rochester NY! (West Henrietta!) - love!

4. Love tennis? Love intelligent conversation? Get on this bus. - The Body Serve is the gold standard tennis podcast. Whether your faves are on the upswing or winding down their careers, whether the tournaments are exciting or duds, whether we are loving life or struggling to hold it together during a pandemic, The Body Serve connects the dots, digs deeper, and elevates the conversation. My thinking is always challenged, I always laugh, and I always eagerly look forward to the next episode drop. I am so looking forward to having these two gentlemen at tournaments again, giving a richer and more nuanced view of this game that we love.
2021-11-17
5. Always informative always entertaining - This podcast is so entertaining that I am always surprised by how much I learn. I really appreciate the work these guys put into researching and preparing so their discussions don’t come off the cuff. But I also appreciate that their personalities and biases season each episode and creates a flavor profile that you miss in between shows. Love them. They are friends in my head.
2021-06-16
6. Love Jonathan and James’ tennis insights - This is my favorite tennis podcast. Probably my favorite overall podcast. Jonathan’s and James’ insights into WTA and ATP happenings are refreshing and I’m constantly nodding my head in agreement. They bring humor, interesting timely information, and unique perspectives when discussing what’s going on in the tennis world.
2021-04-14
7. Best tennis podcast out there - Yes, there are other tennis pods out there, but The Body Serve is consistently the most entertaining and a must listen. It’s all about the natural give and take, the HUMOR, the educated and honest perspectives given. They are true tennis fans of both the women’s and men’s tours. James and Jonathan don’t always agree, which adds to the enjoyment—but they don’t feel the need to debate points to death. Diversity of opinion is allowed. Accept no substitutes for The Body Serve.
2020-11-27
8. Excellent Nuanced Discussion - I’ve been looking for a tennis podcast and this show is excellent. Their nuanced take on the serena x Osaka controversy was very balanced an honest. They gave the audience a clear picture while being fair to both sides. I wish everyone took the time to look at the full picture instead of talking about hot opinions. I love how y’all dove into the history of everything. Nothing is ever black and white and this podcast gives us the shades of grey we need. Thank you for your great takes! - Justin (Polar Opposites Podcast)
2020-09-11
9. Good episode! - I really enjoyed this podcast! Monika is the reason why I start following and watching tennis. One thing that bothered me was your emphasis that she is not Serb even though she was born in today’s Serbia. You would probably not make similar comment for someone born in US whose parents are not American. I wonder, why did you mentioned this several times in your podcast. Is there a reason for it? I think there is similar bias that journalists do with Novak Djokovic which contributes to his public image. Maybe you can consider doing research and doing similar podcast.
2020-01-15
10. Great podcast! - This is a wonderful, highly informative, and humorous podcast on the topic of tennis. I'm glad these two hosts are not afraid to be transparent about their favorite players and other personal views. Where else do you hear such honesty about how a lot of people really feel about Isner? Thank god. They regulary highlight gender-related inequities within the sport as well. This is truly valuable to me. I excitedly look forward to a new episode every couple of weeks or so.
2019-11-30
11. A podcast I always look forward too - TBS is probably the best time I have listening to a podcast. I look like a fool when I’m listening to it in public by the amount of times James and Jonathan crack me up. They provide a great mix of humor, well-researched information, and measured unique perspectives. Come for the tennis, stay for the messiness
2019-09-17
12. A tennis podcast unlike any other - My boyfriend introduced me to the Body Serve earlier this year and it may be the most important thing he has contributed to our relationship. No one in any sports media that I've read, listened to, or watched discusses sports quite like Jonathan and James. They handle every topic with the appropriate perspective, deftness, and nuance that it deserves. They always touch upon race, gender, and sexuality (something you'll rarely see brought up anywhere else.) I truly wish there was this type of podcast for every sport that I follow. Most importantly, they make me laugh. And that's usually all I'm looking for on my drive to or from work. I highly recommend The Body Serve to any and all tennis fans!
2019-09-04
13. Breath of fresh air - This review is long overdue. James and Jonathan have found the magic formula to transform the famously stuffy commentary associated with tennis coverage into something I eagerly anticipate with each episode release. By framing their insightful sporting analysis with an unapologetically conscientious tone (and yes, adding a tasteful dose of pettiness where warranted), they breathe new life into a sport that has given this introverted gay man of color such joy over the years. Bravo and keep up the fantastic work!
2019-08-25
14. Knowledgeable, eloquent, and enjoyable takes on tennis - By far the best tennis podcast for those looking for more than a rundown of results. The hosts are so well spoken and well researched when discussing complex issues. Listening to this podcast has made me a better person. I’ve learned how to better respond to bigotry and the typical takes people use to demean women, POC, and LGBTQ people. One stand out moment was when the hosts explained the nuance of how commentators/media use particular verbiage to describe how white and black people have developed in the sport. It forced me to confront my own biases and unconscious language I use that I’ve now realized has been ingrained into my thinking. Every episode I find myself laughing along with the hosts as if we’ve been longtime friends. Can’t recommend this enough, even for those who aren’t particularly interested in tennis.
2019-08-17
15. Fun and quirky take on tennis - If you like your tennis with a dose of irreverence, check out this podcast. Though the hosts are very well-informed, this podcast does not have a “tennis journo” vibe. Though many of their pop culture references are foreign they me (hate reality TV), the banter is still funny. Especially love the way they call out the male-focused tennis bull@&. Great to have some diverse voices talking about the sport.

16. Highly recommended for any tennis fan - One of my favorite tennis podcasts to listen to. Filled with good analysis of tennis results and tons of LOL moments. Even more importantly, the hosts give a lot of time to off-court happenings and never fail to call out all the phobias this old-world sport is still mired in. Yes, they have their favorite tennis players but that bias is acknowledged and even those players are taken to task when necessary. The Pride Month episode from is bookmark-worthy and goes to show why we need more diverse voices in sports. The episode itself is super well-researched and taught me many things I never knew. But apart from that, how many other sports podcast do a pride month episode OR bring up LGBTQ topics in public forums like these guys did in a press conference? Keep up the good work.

17. Men actually do their homework - Excellent podcast that thoughtfully analyzes and dissects the men’s and women’s pro tennis tour. The analysts actually do their homework and don’t cut and paste predictions on players that are not even in the grand slam draw or that the Bryan Brothers will win the doubles.

18. STILL The Best Tennis Podcast - Few things improve with time but James Rogers’ and Jonathan Newman’s The Body Serve is an exceptional tennis (and a plethora of other topics) podcast. They just produced the st episode! Congrats guys! Despite the recent (and welcome) proliferation of new tennis podcasts, The Body Serve remains a cut above all others because of its wit, intelligence, humanity, and just plain fun. The Body Serve is a trailblazer for gender/racial/sexual equality without being preachy or dull. I’ve changed my opinions about issues because of their insightful, thoughtful, yet light-hearted perspectives. Thanks again, looking forward to the next !

19. Great tennis pod with diiferent perspective - I really enjoy this podcast. They cover different elements of tennis that you dont hear in most podcasts, delving it to political and social issues in and around the game (maybe off putting for some people). They seem really well informed, but dont pretend to be experts in all things and they can also keep it fun and joke around. Thought about deducting half a star for all the Maria Carey love, but to each his own lol.

20. These guys are great! - I stumbled upon this podcast shortly after the US Open Women’s Final, when Every Single Person felt the need to weigh in. Jonathan and James has the best take of anyone, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Informed, smart, and funny, they are a winning team in the tennis podcast world.

21. Amazing, dahling. - Not simply reporting the results and developments from BOTH tours, Jonathan and James offer thoughtful, witty, and meaniful discussions on the societal/ cultural ramifications of what happens between players, tennis personalities, and tennis governing bodies. They love their tennis (and their divas!) but can take it with a grain of salt, putting many things into a fun and engaging context. Love their humour, love their chemistry, and love their podcast. For a fun and engaging listen, The Body Serve is must.

1. Love the show, by the way.. - A “stan” is a fan that treats going overboard like a religion; someone who engages in idol worship rather than good-natured cheering of on their favorite player (or actor or popstar, for that matter. The term comes from the Eminem song “stan”). It’s the kind of person that will defend the player even in the face of something objectively indefensible.

2. One of the best Tennis Podcasts around - This is definitely one of the best Tennis podcasts around. Other than the fact they are super funny (like the TopGear guys or years ago before they became too full of themselves), those guys understand tennis and bring an honest and blunt view of the Tennis world. Highly recommended if you had enough of the traditional Tennis media and looking for something more meaningful.

3. Informative and real perspectives - I really enjoy this podcast. They have a unique perspective from being LTA insiders, with some good connections to other parts of the tennis world too, so even as someone who follows the tennis news and Twitter pretty closely, I often get some unique insights and tidbits from this pod. They also are refreshingly honest (while still generally balanced) instead of just pc/pr. I don’t agree with everything they say but can see where they’re coming from and appreciate that it feels unfiltered. I agree with another review that the sound mixing could be a little better, but an hour is a good length for me and if anything a little longer now and then is fine. Especially thanks to James for reading the email inbox !

4. Racist, Sexist - March th episode hosts spent a considerable amount of time bashing Serena Williams. They only played a portion of an audio clip with her response to a question a reporter asked her about zverev and his abuse and violent outbursts. Host went out of their way to attack a black woman and had nothing to say for zverev’s behavior. As a black male, this podcast and hosts are not my people and this is the first and last listen.

5. Great podcast for hardcore tennis fans - I am not aware of any better podcast out there that’s better than this one for hardcore tennis fans. One small suggestion is it can use some better editing and distill it to minutes per episode. Also please pay attention to the technical aspects of the recordings. A few episodes have really bad sound/background noises that render them unlistenable.

6. Good, fun show - These guys know a good deal about tennis and are funny. They also have some interviews with people that you won’t get anywhere else. I like listening to this show for the news, observations, and banter. Worth it for tennis fans, and maybe even people who aren’t that into the sport. Keep up the good work.

1. WTA Insider is - I have loved WTA tennis and loved podcasts for longer than I can remember, but it wasn’t until recently that I thought of mixing the two together. It took one search and I found Courtney and the WTA Insider pod! Courtney has great analysis on the state of the game and her interviews are always spot-on. Absolutely love the podcast and I can’t recommend it enough to the anyone that will listen, but it’s almost required listening for WTA fans! Keep up the great work!!

2. Great to have it back - Really great to have this back in the feed. The champion’s corner episodes are always bafflingly good, betraying a somehow-trusting relationship between interviewer and player that is sorely missing across sports most of the time. In just finishing the AO preview, I’m also renewing my call for a short, daily wrap up for a take on the best / most noteworthy matches. These two brought such a depth of knowledge and analysis - along with a healthy serving of curiosity - that I would love to hear their thoughts on upsets and beat downs alike. For those of us without the ability to shift completely to Aussie time or watch all the matches, this would be a very, very welcome tool to focus our attention. Thanks for all you do, Courtney!

3. Flames! Best WTA pod - New WTA fan, and this is basically required listening for any tennis fan. This pod is a great way to catch up on events you missed, which was awesome as a newer fan. Hearing from the title winners w the champions corners eps is so dope, and any other eps are also appreciated! . Keep up the great work

4. Great podcast, gaping hole in the last year - Love this podcast! I will say however, the best episodes were those early ones where Courtney was joined by David Kane regularly. Not sure what happened but David has not been on any of the recent releases. The banter and chemistry was awesome. Bring this back!

5. Enjoyable and engaging - Hi, Courtney. Your podcasts are all engaging, exciting, and informative. You’re engaging interview style truly brings out the personality as well as the love for the game in all the players and other participants that you interview. Much thanks to you and to WTA for a great podcast!

6. Fun Slice of Fun and Facts - Love both Katherine and David. David is like Paula and Katherine (Catherine?) is definitely Simon but together they are splendid. I love the insights, opinions and polls (also love Katherine’s enthusiasm for dogs) and David’s vigorous voice when discussing the game. As a tennis nerd I love this! Thanks for giving us a home

7. Great show! - I love that the wta is showcasing the hosts, Courtney and David, through this show. I love getting the chance to catch up on all things wta while driving to work. This is really a great asset for the wta to connect with fans, and provide updates and interviews regarding the sport. Keep up the great work!

8. Always relevant and entertaining - WTA insider Courtney Nguyen is smart and entertaining. She does a great job of helping listeners get a better understanding of the WTA players and the game. I really enjoy hearing Courtney and her frequent guest and co-worker David Kane riff and make predictions. They have wonderful chemistry!

9. Great podcast - Really like this podcast. I am a WTA tour fan. Definitely certain players are my favs but I follow the tour as a whole too. This mean following lots of players on WTA, espeically since depth and volatility are the norms on the tour. It's good to have a podcast that can just focus on WTA players that succeeded last week. I love listening to the players themselves. You dont get that in other pods, at least not as much. My personal favorites to listen to are Kuznetsova, Pliskova, Kvitova, Petkovic, Mirza, Strycova. They have different combinations of thoughfulness, eloquence, self deprecation self awareness, and candidness. It's worth listening to the players themselves cause otherwise we just get to see/hear filtered quotes from other sources. For me, knowing their voices and speech patterns adds another dimension to the their personalities. I love listening to the coaches too. With on-court coaching, coaches get a higher profile on WTA tour. It's good to listen to them and get a completely different picture of the tour. I liked the ones with Torben and David K but lower profile coaches like Thomas Drouet can be enlightning to listen to as well. Note that this is an "official" WTA podcast. So, sensitive, controversial matters (like Sharapova ban) either may not get handled or you may get a "party line" on them. That's fine with me cause you have lot ofother independent pods that can cover these topics in depth. Courtney is a good host and I think the addition of David Kane makes for better episodes, since you have a "conversation" rathern than a "monologue". Overall, a good idea and execution from WTA.

10. Great analysis and player interviews! - I have been a WTA fan on and off for a few years, but it wasnt until recently that I really became a diehard fan. That happened around the time this podcast started and it helped me get to know the players and the game better. I love how Courtney interviews the players in such a friendly tone, you can tell they know each other. It's because of this that the players real personalities come thru becouse they are not just giving stock answers, they are having a conversation about tennis (and other things sometimes too). That and I also love her analysis of Slams and tourneys upcoming. When she does a draw review it helps me know what story lines to be watching out for as the slam progresses. I love this podcast as a tennis fan and if you love the WTA like I do it is a must listen!!!

11. Great resource! - I really enjoy listening to this podcast! It's great to hear from some of the legends of the sport (BJK), some of the current top players (really loved Aga's recent interview!) and some of the other players who maybe aren't as well known. As much as the tennis, I have enjoyed the personal stories as well. The interview with Andrea Petkovic at the end of was both heartbreaking and eye opening. There is so much going on in women's tennis, and this is the place to keep up with it! I only wish the podcasts were up more often. Thank you, WTA Insider!!

12. WTA Insider Podcast Review (BeingKimmie) - I love the WTA Insider Podcast. Listening to podcasts is relatively new for me and because of this one I am now addicted. This podcast gives tennis fans a more in-depth and unfiltered view into the women's tour overall, tournaments and individual matches, and the players and coaches through interviews. It is another platform that makes the sport more accessible for fans. In my opinion, this podcast is one of the best things the WTA did this year. All tennis fans should be regular listeners.
2015-12-03
13. Great Coverage With Personality - If you're a fan of Women's Tennis and are looking for a podcast that brings comprehensive coverage with a little fun, this is it. Courtney does a great job and the episodes aren't overly long so they're good for listening to during the drive to and from work. Highly recommended.

1. Good Host, with Great Guests - I discovered the podcast only after buying some Tennis Match Journals from Fabio. I was looking for something for my daughter who plays tennis and gets really emotional on court. I thought perhaps writing things down might help her. And thanks to the internet found Fabio’s journals. But then I stated getting weekly emails about the podcasts. Now I listen every week. You have to kind of be a tennis geek to get into some of them, but it’s usually good stuff! Keep up the good work!

2. a great tennis podcast - Fabio does a great job doing the deep dive with all his guests. As an older player who started competing later in life, I’ve been playing a lot of catch up in terms of learning the nuances of tennis and increasing my tennis IQ, especially when I’m playing juniors who already have a lot more coaching than I have had. Fabio serves as a sort of surrogate coach for me! Love his energy and his passion for tennis is palpable.

3. A great discovery for any tennis fan - Fabio is a really good interviewer. I like how he asks more technical tennis player questions than most media people (e.g. what strings Robin Soderling uses), you can tell he loves to play and has played at a decent level. Furthermore, the quality of the guests is surprisingly high, considering this podcast is self-started. He chooses well, recruiting niche, interesting ones like Matt Little or Middelkoop. Overall very good!!

4. Fantastic for TRUE tennis fans - If you are looking to truly understand the inner workings of tennis on all levels this is the podcast for you. Fabio is an outstanding host who asks the correct questions and his love of the game shines through. As a D head coach and someone whose life is dedicated to this sport I can’t recommend Functional Tennis highly enough!

5. Good dude, smart cat - Episode is absolute magic, incredible behind the scenes chatter with Craig Shapiro, the host of the UNDER REVIEW TENNIS PODCAST, the guy was absolutely fascinating, discussed his show, as well as his background in tennis. Talked Agassi, Courier, Sampras, Fed, Rafa. Fabio is a tremendous host that did his homework and asked great questions. If you think you are a tennis person it’s a must listen. Best regards, Craig Shapiro

1. Mediocre host and instructions but some good guests - I listened to a number of these again and now remember why I stopped listening to this podcast years ago. For example, Mike Digby is a very interesting guest and glad he was given two podcasts but Mehrban’s asks a question, Mike gives a great answer and Mehrban says stuff like “very cool” or “% agree” with zero follow up or any back and forth. Basically Mehrban sounds like he doesn’t really care about the answer and hurriedly moves onto the next question… very bad interviewing technique :( On podcast Will Hamilton is on and the first question is about weight transfer on serve and the back foot. Will says I don’t know how to answer that then tries to pass off to Mehrban who fails to answer the question. Then at the end of the episode Will gives super confusing advice about anticipating an opponent’s forehand direction to a . level player…. who definitely can’t use it. Also, when the same woman says “I don’t even know if I split step” neither Will or Mehrban ask if she is recording herself to verify if she is split stepping. Wow just wow.

2. Entertaining and Informative - Excellent work, Mehrban! So glad I’ve discovered your work. Your interviews are so helpful—beyond playing better and having a more solid mindset, I’ve changed my eating and gotten new shoes! Thanks for all the work you do for the tennis community. Good luck with your matches!

3. Love the podcast - I love listening to this podcast! Merhban has interesting topics, great guests, and a very relaxing voice. (I cant listen to some podcast channels as the voice(s)are annoying.) Merhban is humble (will tell stories of his own struggles) and a little corny, but in a good way where he makes it fun! I have been listening to him for a long time and I am glad to have posted his th review!!!

4. Contact point - The contact point episode is one of the best! Not only the instructional particulars but very importantly the emphasis on contact point as a key priority. For me, the episode arrived at an essential time: I was struggling with what to really focus on for development— mental, footwork, strategy, technique? Knowing we can really only concentrate on one or two things at a time. The episode brought me the answer: point of contact. Interestingly, as the episode discusses, working on contact point also requires footwork, strategy and tactics. By coincidence (or not) I had already ordered a special racquet designed to help with contact point training. Here we go! Thank you Mehrban for continuing the Tennis Files!

5. The tennis files with Mehrban Iranshad - Fantastic podcast with useful tennis tips especially for different level tennis players and coaches. This podcast got me through the pandemic and I listened on my way up to sectionals with my . team. I think technically you have what you have at playoffs but mentally it’s always good to listen to Mehrban! Keep up the great interviews and content!

6. Love the discussion and topics - I have listened to this podcast for a long time and it’s one of my favorite tennis podcasts. I love the focus on how to get better and the mix of sharing his own experience and interviewing coaches within every aspects of the game. Really incredible content Mehrban creates for our tennis community including the yearly tennis summit and I appreciate that a lot. Fun to listen to while learning and enjoying this wonderful sport!!

7. Mehrban “Frankenstein” Iranshad - What a great way to bring to life the best monster encyclopedia than to grab the best of the best in every aspect and putting it all together for everyone to nourish from. Great episode organization, great content and great humor! Recently had a job promotion which came with an hour of commute and I’m never going to dread it because it gives me the chance to enhance every aspect of my tennis career through just enjoying a great conversation with the greatest minds in the sport. Couldn't be more happy with this podcast.

8. Great for players and coaches (at least this one) - This is a great podcast for recreational and league players and even coaches. I’ve only started listening this year, but I’ve listened to earlier episodes as well. And several episodes I’ve listened to several times. I’m not a career tennis professional, but I am a high school tennis coach, and this podcast has been very helpful to me as a coach.

9. Smart tennis talk - Most tennis shows I used to listen to do recaps of tournaments and give their opinions. Mehrban interviews really interesting people with unique perspectives at all levels of tennis. The interview with David Fish was so thought provoking. This is the best tennis podcast hands down. Thanks.
2018-06-23
10. Guests to Inspire Tennis Development - I have been listening to Mehrban for several months now and can say that I have learned something about tennis that applies to my game from every single interview. I am a .ish league doubles and singles player with renewed aspirations of being the best I can be after a long break from last playing in high school! Great content, variety of sophisticated guests and topics, wonderful - often free - resources for all levels. Nice work and thanks so much :)

11. Outstanding content - Mehrban does a terrific job keeping the topics fresh and he is an extremely polite and engaging host. This is by far THE BEST tennis podcast out there. Go back and start from the beginning and work your way through the podcasts and you'll see (hear, actually) the learning curve he went through to become a little more comfortable/less stilted/awkward with his guests. It is actually refreshing to hear someone as genuine and authentic as Mehrban Iranshad on his TennisFiles podcast. Thanks for your gifts to our game!!!

12. Has already helped my game! - I've been catching up through old episodes of TFP and have been learning a lot. I've learned specific things to help my game like trying to set up points to exploit my strengths and drills like having my hitting partner hit to me when I can only use my weapon. I've even decided to try stringing my racket at an even lower tension after listening to a Master Racket Technician say that he recommends going with the lowest tension you're comfortable with. I like Mehrban's philosophies, including continually striving to improve. I'm almost done making my way through the older podcasts and can't wait to get to the new ones.
2016-10-17
13. Great tennis information! - This podcast is very informative for players at any level and/or people new to tennis. Mehrban has brought on knowledgable and interesting guests. He really focuses the questions so that the audience has key takeaways to improve their game. I look forward to seeing who else he brings on his show!
