1. More culturally diverse but not as accurate - I’ve listened to this podcast for a few years now and frequented their other channels as well. As someone who grew up in Asia and loves food from all corners of the world, I appreciate what Milk Street brings to the American food education table. However, I often find the information the hosts provide, especially during Q&A, regarding non-western culinary ingredients/tips highly speculative, misleading, or completely wrong. It’s not that they’re not trying their best, but without the right background/perspectives, a guess is at the best a guess. Would love to see (hear) someone from a different cultural background to give better answers.

2. TOO MANY COMMERCIALS! - I love this podcast! But it is getting so overloaded with excess commercials that it irritates the heck out of me! Doesn’t Chris make enough money already? His television show, his cookbooks, his Milk Street store, his magazine? And now an ever increasing annoying array of sales pitches throughout the podcast. Grrrr! l wish there was an option to listen to an ad-free version for a small subscription fee. Yes, l like the podcast that much!

3. The kids sing commercials - Such a great podcast as you are calmly listening to Chris … Sara or a great interview; this loud kids sing commercial blows out your mind and is so unpleasant and I CANNOT believe Christopher allows this, usually a person of taste this loud blast of music MUST GO!! LMcCallum

4. Chris could stand to talk less - I feel torn, because I LOVE the rich knowledge about ingredients and technique, but I find Christopher presents as a pompous, ethnocentric know-it-all multiple times an episode. This is the podcast I turn to when I’ve listened to everything else in my show library. I personally recommend ‘Borderline Salty’ for a call in show, and ‘The Sporkfull’ for a food interview show that leans into the way that western white guy hosts are far less interesting and knowledgeable than the guests. Those are my A Day food shows. When Sarah breaks off to start her own podcast, I’m leaving with her.
2022-12-11
5. We deserve better interview skills! - Please give the interview job to someone who cares! I love this podcast, but Christopher’s interviews leave a lot to be desired. Is he tired of interviewing people? Would he rather NOT conduct the interviews? Great! Give the job to someone who really wants to talk to others and find out about them, not just ask stock questions and bounce around from topic to topic. We are loyal listeners and deserve more time and care taken.
2022-11-16
6. Christopher is insufferable - I’m going to be honest. I do like the show. The guests are great, and the discussions are interesting. But I find myself rolling my eyes at least once an episode. Christopher must have some inner voice telling him, “Say something slightly snarky or condescending to the guests and other hosts. Do it. It’ll make you feel better than them.” And he delivers every.single.time.
2022-11-11
7. Wastes time. - Milk Street produces pretty good content, but I’m annoyed at how much I have to fast forward to get to the content. For example, the most recent episode in which Kimball interviews Nigella Lawson, there were over minutes of ads for a minute episode. It’s absurd, disrespectful, and wasteful of the listeners’ time and attention.
2022-11-02
8. Just what I was looking for - Educational, fun and not too stuffy. I truly enjoyed the most recent vintage/family recipes show. Deep warm memories of my grandmothers (one Norwegian, one French/German) surfaced and I will be sitting with my mother looking over recipes very soon. No lutefisk, tho! Keep the radio talk show Q&A coming — I learn so much! — and it adds a homey connection to your show. Peace and joy from the Midwest!

1. Get a better host - FIrst time listener: I couldn’t resist listening to the Deborah Madison episode as she quite literally changed the way I cook and eat. She was wonderful when Francis gave her the chance to speak, which was not nearly enough for me. I wanted to hear the guest and not the self-important host who seems to care more about getting his info out than celebrating his guest. He seems knowledgeable but too interested in proving himself than allowing his guest to be the star. Gave the podcast another shot recently. I really like nigella Lawson but didn’t get as much of her as I’d wanted. once more the host hijacked her time to tell an uninteresting personal story while nigella awkwardly waited for him to finish…and what’s worse, he sadly seemed genuinely bored with her. I think he really wants a show where he can talk about his favorite subject: himself.

2. Always a Favorite - So Comforting and Enlightening - I absolutely LOVE The Splendid Table. As a super fan of Lynne Rossetto Kasper, I was not sure how I would respond to a new host. Francis Lam is an incredible host - he is intelligent, hilarious, calming and a joy to listen to. Thank you for this brilliant show.
2022-11-20
3. Rediscovering The Splendid Table - What a delight. Francis Lam has taken over the helm of this show in a way that honors its founder and its past, but also makes it fresh and relevant and irresistible. Bravo! So excited to binge listen to all the episodes I’ve missed, and I can’t wait for all the new ones to come.
2022-11-06
4. Francis is Fab - I’ve been listening to TST since it was just a radio show. I’ve always been delighted by the offerings and it continues to do so to this day! How do you do it? Francis shares his incredible wealth of knowledge and I look forward to listening the next week and finding out what new things I can learn from the show. I especially love the annual thanksgiving show - I have a ritual of listening to it while I cook my family’s dinner. Can’t think of a world without TST! Thanks, Francis et al!
2022-10-04
5. From Awesome to terrible - Loved this podcast so much when Lynne was at the helm. Now it’s just terrible. Francis Lam is annoying and talks over his guests so much that they may as well have never come on the show. And his annoying giggle when he’s trying to be cute about something is just. . . Ugh. You’ve lost this fan.
2022-08-18
6. Great but help us connect - Wonderful topics beyond the usual, great guests, but no links to find the guests on their blogs or Instagram accounts, sometimes not even their names. Links to the restaurants so we can go patronize them would be great. Organizations web sites so we can connect, and maybe donate. Some episodes do this, but others, like the American Chinese food, don’t. One annoying thing about Francis Lam: he giggles. Sometimes when there’s nothing really funny. A nervous giggle.

7. Hate on a Ratatouille?!?!? thebelovedchildren’scookingclassic - I’ve never written a review to a podcast before…. the bizarrely negative intro to this episode compelled me. COVID has made a mess of us all but there’s little excuse for the angry vitriol spewed here. This calm practiced radio voice delivery does little to mask the seething strange, angry and idiosyncratic opinion of our host. You won’t let your kids watch it?!?!! What an extreme statement for a film intent on inspiring the next generation of young chefs.

8. The Wisdom of Choosing Francis ! - Just listened to hrs of Turkey Confidential the day after Thanksgiving… Francis Lam brings out the very best in each of his guests… I am an avid Lynn Rosetta Casper fan … Francis was & is the perfect person to continue the gift of The Splendid Table … Thank You so very much.

1. Love it! - I love this show! I want to see more! Ina does a wonderful interview, and it is very entertaining. I’m hoping she will be filming with more people/celebrities. I have a list: Stanley Tucci, Stephen Colbert, Selena Gomez, and so many more. Ina thank you for being amazing an inspirational.
2022-12-08
2. Bite Sized Listening - What a joy to listen to! The episodes are long enough for my morning commute from the Heights to Chelsea, and yet still short enough to leave me wanting more. Ina and her guests are engaged, dynamic, and full of zest for life without being preachy, try-hard, or lacking humility. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I come across, and can’t wait to listen to more.
2022-11-15
3. Thank You - Ina, I know this will be a unique review but I wanted to share that I was introduced to you by one of my friends. I have been listening and watching your videos since. I love that you always frame compliments into questions it just makes me smile! I also wanted to add that I listen to your Podcast while running! I tell myself, if you set a PR you can get Ina’s cooking! Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us!
2022-05-12
4. Delightful - I think what I enjoy so much about this podcast is that we get to see (or hear ) another side of Ina. A level deeper because it’s a bit more intimate to hear her interacting with friends, interviewing, and having the focus more on the relationships than the food. The result is something any Ina fan could have guessed… you get to know a bit more about her… and you love her even more! Ina fun, authentic, gracious, relaxed, & witty - who doesn’t love that?!
2022-05-05
5. Envy Too! - I completely agree with Envy. I, too, am not an envious person. I’m not star struck in the least, but then there’s Ina. I have every cookbook and always will. Grant me a wish and it would be to join her in the Hamptons in the barn! She is perfection! When I stumbled upon her new podcast on my most recent walk I was over the moon. I listened to every interview in one morning. Talk about getting my steps in! Be My Guest with Ina is simply the BEST!
2022-05-02
6. Always a fan! - I love Ina's recipes, her cookbooks, her television show and now her podcasts. Her guests are at ease from the start and she makes her listeners feel as if they right there with them. My favorite episode so far, probably not fair to say because there have only been a few, was with Rob Marshall and John DeLuca. Brilliant men who held nothing back. So funny and so real. Thank you, Ina. p.s. I have already pre-ordered your next book! Best to you and Jeffrey.
2022-05-02
7. Envy - I’m not envious of people with more beauty or money or power, I’m not envious of a bigger house, or a larger career, or better hair, but I am envious of every single person who is blessed to spend time with this woman and her husband. If I had three personal wishes one of them would be to be Ina’s guest. And the odds of that wish becoming reality would probably be one in billion! ‘Wink. So incredibly delighted to search Podcasts and find this! Ina has created so manyLittle pockets of joy in my life just doing what she does in all the ways that she does it!

8. This is what’s been missing in the podcast universe!! - Oh, Ina - what a treat every Saturday morning to settle in for a visit with you. I feel like I’m in the kitchen with you while you’re making a delicious treat, and I can almost see your gorgeous garden tours in my minds eye. I just adore you and I only wish I didn’t have to wait a whole week to experience your blissful podcast again!!

Food with a side of science and history. Every other week, co-hosts Cynthia Graber and Nicola Twilley serve up a brand new episode exploring the hidden history and surprising science behind a different food- or farming-related topic, from aquaculture to ancient feasts, from cutlery to chile peppers, and from microbes to Malbec. 1. Fascinating podcast - Love this podcast. Every topic is done in such a fascinating way. The hosts also have amazing voices that are great to listen to! Why do people not understand that Nicola is a Brit who has lived in the US for a while and thus has a lovely and unusual accent? People commenting on her voice are morons.
2023-02-18
2. Please get a voice coach - I popped by to listen to the calorie episode, and the first minute I almost stopped listening because of the vocal fry and weird inflections of one of the journalists. I almost can’t hear the interesting information because of the delivery. I’m sorry, but it’s the truth. And it’s also fixable so figured I’d give the feedback.
2023-01-20
3. Please, never stop creating these joyful episodes! - My go-to, all time favorite podcast. I love their way of storytelling, their flow, the way they edit the story in terms of format, sound, the research! …It gives me a sense of childhood wonder as well as leaves me feeling like I learned something; aka: when time well spent is also play.
2023-01-10
4. Need voice coach - Love the content, voices are irritating. It is not the accents but the tone, intonation, attempts to be cute and lite. I listen anyway because the content is fascinating. Well prepared. Please get both of them a voice coach and have them take a more straightforward approach. Good models: Fresh Air, Kitchen Sisters, Sporkful. Unique voices but not irritating. Hosts for Gastropod are trying too hard.
2022-12-18
5. Best Podcast Ever!! - I absolutely love the blend of story telling and science all centered around food. Everyone has to eat but very few people realize the stories behind the foods we eat. I think this podcast is a beautiful exploration into the behind the scenes of one of our most necessary needs. I recommend this podcast to all of my friends and without fail they always fall in love. Keep up the great work Nicola and Cynthia!!

6. One of my favorite p'casts. Love it and Cynthia & Nicola! - First, I can't believe how many people object to the hosts voices - expecially Nicola Twilley's. How petty. Yes, Nicola iis originally from England, but lives in the USA. I started listening to Gastropod after I heard their promo mention that the Mafia originated in Sicily's lemon-growing area. I wrote to G'pod to find out which episode had that story. My wife and I once stayed in a beautiful B&B in the middle of the lemon groves, and had give up our room when a couple of "serious" looking guys arrived with "previous reservations." Cynthia Graber sent a warm email with the info, and I have hooked ever since.
I love the podcast and the blend history, science, and gastronomy. A great recipe.
2022-09-06
7. Too much annunciation!! - This podcast could be really good if the hosts were more natural in their annunciation. They both try to hard to have corny radio voices. Some of the topics & stories are very interesting but I can’t get past the distracting fake voices and extreme annunciation. It’s simply annoying!
2022-09-05
8. But information but head-scratching sponsors and speech - Came for the coffee episodes, which were very informative. Unfortunately, I will not continue listening because of Nicola’s irritating intonation. I know I am being petty, but she sounds like a Brit attempting to speak like an American, and I can’t take it. It’s a podcast after all, the host’s voice is meaningful. Additionally, I found it a major faux-pas to have NESPRESSO sponsor the coffee episodes. Major talk of terroir, grinding freshness, farmers, yet sponsored by a company whose business model is couter to these values? Please.

Comments
1. Going downhill - This podcast used to be so good that I would recommend it to all my friends. But this “is cooking a sport?” Show has to be the worst that ya’ll have done. Recently, Nicole goes on so many tangents that she’s dragging the show down. She’s just getting annoying. I will no longer be recommending this podcast.
2023-01-12
2. Hands down my favorite podcast! - Been listening for years and still look forward to new episodes every week, it’s the best balance of humor actual thoughtful opinions and interesting facts. I listen during workouts and have to be careful not to fall off the treadmill because I’m laughing at something Josh says - love you guys please never end the podcast!!
2023-01-01
3. I LOVE THIS PODCAST!!! - This podcast is so funny! Josh and Nicole make the show so funny but also get to the point. I LOVE hearing all of their stories and experiences. As a foodie I LOVE to take my side of the debate. I’m sure my friends are very annoyed by the amount of times I’ve debated with them on these topics. Anyways, I LOVE at Hotdog is a Sandwich and would recommend it to anybody who loves food. By the way pineapple does NOT belong on pizza.
2022-12-27
4. Nicole needs to go - Honestly she’s just plain obnoxious, and well.. so is Josh, but both hosts shouting and rambling and laughing into the mic is too much. Podcast was much better in the beginning. Now I skip through episodes waiting for her to stop rambling. Reign it in Nicole, before you guys lose everyone.

5. Is this peak eloquence? - First off, the mythical team all around is great, and a real treat to listen to. If you like mythical and you know of this podcast, then you should already been in the headspace of accepting whatever this podcast brings. I’ve seen some other reviews that seem to lack the wherewithal to know who they are listening to. You get what you sign up for. Some laughs, deep rooted convos, and some food for though (lol) I unfortunately haven’t been able to listen to every single podcast, but I have heard enough to know that they’re all probably Grade A top shelf. Hopefully this review helps someone. But if you’re already coming here, and you know what to expect. You won’t need a review like this to tell you that you’re going to enjoy the content. You already knew you would.
2022-11-28
6. Was a great podcast - I really enjoy the banter and content. The fact you stopped saying out in the Twitter verse because of your politics, is sad. Being anticapitalist is hilarious to me because you all benefit from it. Good and politics shouldn’t be a thing and it saddens me that you bring it into all the time. Shame on all of you.

7. St. Louis Revenge - Put your opinion where your mouth casserole is, dare you to try all of St. Louis style foods. Sure you don’t like out thin crust. Provel is amazing and you have no right to hate it while living American cheese. Also government cheese is stored in MO caves. We also have toasted raviolis and gooey butter cake. There’s diversity in our food culture. Very American and melting pot of cultures. We also have a thriving local Mexican restaurants community and the donut shop culture is strong. Ted Drews frozen custard is the king and there are many other frozen custard places that piggy back on it. LEARN YOUR STL FOOD CULTURE BEFORE MAKING HARSH BLANKET STATEMENTS. Also the Cardinals are solid and the Blues fandom is strong so you sport opinions do not matter.

8. The best part of my week - I’ve listened to the AHDIAS catalogue multiple times and find myself loving every episode even after the third or fourth listen. I love the guest star choices, and the thought and effort put into each topic even though it’s all in good fun. I love bringing up these topics at gatherings and sparking debates, especially being armed with all of the information from your podcast! Thank you for all of the laughs and thought provoking statements.

1. Such a fun podcast! - I listen to books about crimes and murder on a regular basis. Many times I listen after work in the evenings while I enjoy a glass of wine. Imagine combing two of my favorite pass times into one informative story about a real life wine drama. I have only listened to the first in the series but it was surely entertaining enough to make me want more. I plan to listen to the entire series in hopes that it won’t end for years to come. Well done! I highly recommend Vinofamous podcast if you like mystery and wines!

2. I Gasped So Loud - This is my first time listening to this podcast and it was such a treat! I was engaged in the storytelling with all the awesome sound effects and music choices. There was a turn in the story and I gasped so loud my dogs turned to look at me. Very enjoyable! Congrats to everyone involved.

1. Thought provoking podcast - So far this has been a great podcast and I love Tom Papa. His podcast (IMO) had broadened my thinking and solidified thoughts and beliefs. It’s fun, interesting and thought provoking . Kudos to Tom for being more patient with the fringe opinions of some of his guests and friends that I wouldn’t be able to tolerate. Lol. (Like episode - solidified my thoughts about who Rogan is; and reinforced why I don’t like him)
2023-01-17
2. Tom’s enjoyment shines through - Really enjoy the show. Tom Papa’s approach both food and people as genuine, curious, and fun really shines through. You can learn, you can laugh, you’ll be exposed to cool ppl and their stories. Tom - you should try to setup an episode with someone from the Southern Foodways Alliance! They’re an awesome organization and I think you’d dig their approach to food media and scholarship. They do a pod called Gravy…check it out
2022-08-23
3. Breaking Bread with Tom Papa - Been loving this podcast. Delightful listening during pandemic. Host, Tom Papa is witty and charming, and the exchange with his guests are lighthearted and fun. The guy is sweet - and, being that my name is Tom and that my () sons call me Papa, I feel like I have a brother in spirit
2022-01-06
4. Thoughts on family guests - Quick review… If you’re a fan of Tom Papa then this is a must listen. You won’t be disappointed and everyone could use more positivity each week in their lives. Now, the real reason I’m commenting is that I think you should have any relative be a main guest on the podcast that wants to. I know a lot of us would love to hear the personal stories that they can share about you. Brad from Hagerstown (Yes, that one)
2021-06-06
5. Best Part of the Week - Tom Papa is not only one of the funniest comedians working today, he’s also clearly one of the nicest. It’s such a joy to listen to him interview a fantastic slate of comedians, writers, actors, and food personalities. It’s clear this is a topic he truly cares about, and that joy comes through. Thanks Tom!
2021-03-23
6. Donna Lennard “home taught chef” - Love the show. Your hilarious! But I am a bit upset with you. Back when I was on The Marriage Ref you all made fun of me for being a “home taught chef” you and Jimmy made comments like I was no good because I was home taught. Made jokes like let’s go to that new restaurant owned by the home taught chef. Yet you love Donna Lennard who claims she’s a home taught chef. Not cool Papa. Not cool. Milt “Goldie” Drewer
2020-12-12
7. Fantastic Tone - For people who don’t like people who are angry or easily angered. And people who like bread, and breaking it with others. Not for those looking to get riled up and argue with other riled up people online. Refreshing. Tom Papa also has a great audio set up and his voice is fantastic, like Cesar Milan says, “calm, assertive energy.” Men take note.
2020-09-29
8. Love it! - Tom is a joy to listen to, and regardless of whether it’s the old or new format, he comes across as genuine and very relatable. I also love the new theme music! When Tom combines a celebrity guest with a conversation geared toward their memories of food and family, that is where the real magic of this podcast lies. It also gives the guest an opportunity to do an interview unlike all the other talk-show interviews they do. That said... While pleasant and interesting (and I’m sure he’s a nice guy ), the Kadin interview was a little too “inside baseball” about the bakery business, and lacked the heart that all the previous episodes have had. Go ahead and chat about the business side of things for a while, but then please transition into BREAKING BREAD together. (Otherwise, I could listen to “How I Built This” to hear business-oriented conversations.) I this podcast (!), and would just request that it remain focused on the feel of the other episodes — that’s what makes this podcast special. Thanks for your wonderful work!

2. Best bourbon show - Bourbon pursuit is the best bourbon podcast! It’s the most organized and put together. There’s good balance between banter, jokes and information. Some other podcasts just get awkward and boring but not this one. Listened through episodes multiple times as I have a long commute. Love this show!
2022-05-23
3. Question for the round table - Love the podcast. I have a question I couldn’t really find an answer for so I thought I’d throw it out to the round table. We all know when a bottle is half empty the flavor can change from oxidation but doesn’t this also happen in a barrel as it ages and loses volume? Why is this bad in a bottle but no one discusses its affect in a barrel?
2022-03-15
4. Informative and fun - The guys are a great team. Learn something from every episode aired. They bring in a variety of guests from the industry, fields that you wouldn’t think of and give you a new perspective for it. They are constantly improving themselves. Look forward to the Thursday episode drops and when that round table episode comes in it’s gone by Thursday afternoon! Keep it up guys!
2021-12-27
5. Awesome podcast - I can’t overstate how much I look forward to this podcast coming out each week. Ryan, Kenny, and Fred have turned my interest in bourbon into a full blown hobby. Not one where I collect bottles and admire them on the shelf, but one of discovery and exploration as I try different brands and releases. I really appreciate all the hard work you guys put in, and especially the educational content!
2021-11-26
6. Best Bourbon Podcast - I get excited each week knowing there is going to be a new episode. Kenny and Ryan are super down-to-earth and entertaining. They have a ton of bourbon knowledge and interview all the heavy hitters in the industry. Fred Minnick provides the type of input you would expect from an industry expert. The community round tables bring together a lot of bourbon enthusiasts who are making big contributions to the hobby with their own websites and opinion publications. This podcast is a great introduction for the bourbon beginner but also provides a ton of content that will satisfy the biggest bourbon geek. Finally, the production value is top notch, and the podcast flows effortlessly throughout. Do yourself a favor - listen and subscribe. Cheers!

7. Exceptional - The quality of this show makes it a priority among my podcasts. I’m looking for the next drop and placing it at the top immediately. If this show were a bourbon, it would be so expensive and rare and allocated, but the difference here is that everyone can enjoy it. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
2021-10-28
8. The Gold Standard - The quality of the show and insights provided are the best out there. For me it sets the standard for what a Bourbon podcast should be like. I really liked the recent series “Is bourbon broken.” It gave many different viewpoints on how to understand what has been happening with bourbon over the past years and where it is going. Keep up the great work gentlemen!

1. Love this show! - Matt and his incredibly knowledgeable guests shine the brightest lights on the food industry and those inside of it! Bold, insightful, and engaging are just a few of the words I’d use to describe the time you’ll spend with them. Thanks so much for putting out such a superb show Matt - keep up the great work!

2. Good balance of humility and foodie detail - The host, Matt's, interview style strikes a great balance between the nitty gritty details of all things food (restaurants, cookbooks, food writing) without losing sight of the bigger picture of a love of food that spans all different cultures and price points.

Love the guests, hate the pretension of the host - I’ve been a long-time listener for years and absolutely love the range of guests and topics covered, but the host’s pretentious attitude is hard to swallow sometimes. We get it…you love name dropping and talking like you’re above certain things. It seems like a missed opportunity to be empathetic to different kinds of listeners. Also kind of antithetical to the idea that food knowledge should be democratized.

4. Engaging and Educational, for sure - Love the deliciously wide range of topics, guests, and perspectives week after week....but (please, please, please) can Anna find a new rejoinder to use in her interviews besides (always, always, always) ‘for sure’? Sorry, but it cheapens the otherwise sophisticated conversations. Otherwise, thank you for what you do; the access you provide is appreciated.

5. Makes the drive go by so much faster! - Just listened to the Solomonov podcast on my last long commute. I loved it! TASTE podcast is so smart and funny... it makes my drive go by so much faster! The only problem is I get so hungry listening to these guys talk about food! It’s great inspiration for my home kitchen. Thank you TASTE! You guys are awesome.

6. One of the best half hours of my week! - If The Taste continues to attract the caliber of guests that they have over the first few episodes, it will quickly become one of the most important podcasts on the subject of food in culture. Knowing the intelligence and connections of the people behind The Taste, I have every confidence it will only continue to get better.

Over the past year I’ve become an “at home vegan!” I still remain a vegetarian when out and about and choices are often limited. I love this podcast! Really! Truly! Last week they had a “no waste” expert from Canada that opened my thinking. I follow these women on Instagram and take Toni’s daily newsletter. I’m committed! Now, you get popping! Please!! 3. My new friends! - Michelle and Toni are the only good thing about my commute! I actually look forward to my drive knowing I get to listen to a new episode. I found this podcast in and have been loving it since. Michelle and Toni are so welcoming and friendly and warm. I love every guest they bring on. Their discussion topics are super diverse and relatable. I’ve been vegan for years now and have never had a friend who was also vegan. The way they share their stories makes you feel like you’ve known them forever. It’s my dream to have a career in something plant-based and they make me feel like I can make my dream a reality. They’re truly an inspiration for their listeners.

6. Favorite podcast - I’ve been listening on Spotify for awhile now but wanted to leave a review over here. Thank you ladies so much for supporting so many of us on our plant-based/ vegan journeys. 8. Toni and Michelle changed my life - In my early days transitioning into a vegan lifestyle a couple of years ago, I came across Plant-Based on a budget. That website, Toni’s meal plans and book changed the way I viewed vegan meals (it can be both delicious and affordable!) and ever since I started listening to this podcast, I have found myself inspired to do much more learning, sharing and creating empathy rather than divide in my approach to veganism. In a world so focused on what makes us different, I like how this podcast shows us that compassion for animals and other humans can go a long way in planting seeds of change. Wherever you are on your journey, you will find stories that can inspire you to see veganism with a different lens, and learn about so many people making a difference in small and big ways in their lives and communities. Thanks for being catalysts of positive energy and change in this world, Michelle and Toni! I have been fully vegan for nearly two years now, and your content inspires me to continue ahead with an open mind and open heart.

1. Love the stores for years and now the podcast! - Wait, my favorite grocery store has an amazing podcast that’s cozy, funny and addictive?! My whole family now loves listening to the “TJ report”, as we call it. They are gitty when I bring home treats covered in the show and then give their own personal review. We really took for granted where all of our delicious food was sourced from that we get from TJs until this podcast. Also how much they give back to our food banks and save in landfill waste. Thank you TJs! I was truly clueless and I’ve been shopping with you for over years. I love every episode but the Spice one is one of my favorites. Please, don’t stop!

3. Trader Joe’s podcast is quality listening - Updating my review with a suggestion )
How about opening “Trader Joey’s!” I live minutes from Trader Joe’s and it would be great for Trader Joe’s to take over some small empty businesses with an even smaller store with local favorite Trader Joe’s products…
Oh please do! ) I really enjoy the conversations between Matt and Tara. Thanks for keeping it real… like when you zipped open the container of Maple Walnut biscotti. And, OMGoodness! Are they truly the best! Thanks for the great infant entertainment.

4. Awesome podcast and amazing store - Tara and Matt are perfect hosts! I absolutely love your podcast and always look forward to listening to them. They are enjoyable, educational and helpful in experimenting and trying new foods. I love your Trader Joe’s flyer with the grocery list, such a great idea! I’m constantly amazed at the products that you offer in your boutique size stores. I look forward to shopping at Trader Joe’s which is quite different than the drudgery of grocery shopping at a large store. Tallahassee, Florida is thrilled you are in our area!

5. Great, fun, informative and entertaining - This podcast is free and worth every penny! As a Trader Joe's fan, I’m truly enjoying every minute of these podcasts. It's fun to hear the enthusiasm of everyone who works at TJ's both in the stores and corporate. If I had a TJ's nearby, I would want to work there as a retirement job. This is one of the best produced podcasts I listen to. Production quality right up there with NPR!

6. Please decrease single-use plastic packaging - Trader Joe’s can take meaningful steps right now to decrease single-use plastic packaging, including: -Selling fruits and vegetables without plastic clamshells, bags, wrappers, and trays.
-Offering dry goods like beans, rice, flour, pasta, cereal, coffee, tea, spices, salt, sugar, and more in bulk and allowing customers to bring their own reusable containers to fill.
-Offering personal care and cleaning items like shampoo, moisturizer, laundry powder, and dish soap in bulk and allowing customers to bring their own reusable containers to fill.
-Switching all storebrand product packaging to cardboard, paper, glass, and aluminum where offering items in bulk is not an option; and selecting namebrand products that are packaged in non-plastic alternatives. Progress is possible. Please reduce your use of single-use plastics packaging.

7. We’re FINALLY Living close a Trader Joe’s WOOHOO!! - I really enjoyed hearing about what it takes to open one of your stores. I’ve been in love with Trader Joe’s since when my future wife introduced me to them in Southern California. Biggest problem was I was in Eastern Washington state at the time. Over the last years, we’ve gone from none close by until they opened in St Louis, MO, but still a minute drive, to a - hour drive up to Albuquerque. We’ve just moved into the Parker area and we so ecstatic to hear about that one opening soon! Fortunately we were both off for your GRAND OPENING, we could’ve been first in line, we were there so early. Ps. I’m hoping you can get the Trader Joe’s Sweet Chili Sauce! We just used up the last bottle we bought at one of your stores in Albuquerque on some chicken potstickers we bought at this store. It’s GREAT for these and egg rolls! I’ll bring the empty bottle by so you can get the Code

8. Please stop selling so much unnecessary single-use plastic - I am a loyal Trader Joe's customer but I'm fed up with the huge amount of single-use plastic packaging waste I end up with every time I shop at one of your stores. I really hope TJ’s shifts away from single-use plastic packaging to a system of bulk products, plastic-free produce, reusables, and, where necessary, products packaged in single-use containers made from glass, metal or paper, all of which can be recycled successfully for multiple reuses. I am one of many concerned customers, and although I appreciate that you have started taking some steps to reduce plastic pollution, outlined on your sustainability page, these are just incremental steps and fall far short of the measures required to tackle the plastic pollution crisis. For all of multiple reasons, I believe that doing business as usual is no longer acceptable. As a leading retailer, Trader Joe’s has a responsibility to STOP carrying products packaged in single-use plastic. Alternatives exist. Please embrace them.

1. Really like this show - This high-energy podcast moves right along, doesn't waste time, and teaches you a thing or two that you may not know. My only criticism is that they don't offer listeners the recipes for dishes they talk about. If you go the Bon Appetit website you have to sign up (for a fee) for access to recipes. Seems like it would be good PR to let podcast listeners access the specific recipes discussed, for free -- which would probably spark a good percentage of them to sign up for site access. Other than that: good job!

2. Non-Dairy with Nico/Natalie! THANK YOU! - Great episode.. yes, Nico is our son, so we love anything he and Natalie do.. but I also suffer from Dairy issues.. funny enough, American Dairy products especially.. I can do great with “Buffalo Mozzarella”, real Parmesan, Irish Butter.. but these additional substitutes on this episode are gonna give me so many ideas to try! Super helpful and fun to listen to episode!

3. So glad Bon Appétit is back! - I was an avid listener of Food People by Bon Appétit, and love this comeback show with Chris Morocco! It’s fun, conversational and educational. I love hearing from multiple team members at Bon Appétit too. It gives me inspiration and motivation to try things out in my own kitchen.

4. Fun Concept, Execution Needs Work - I love the idea of this podcast but I endured rather than enjoyed listening to a few episodes during a recent road trip. The INTERMINABLE intros, vapid chit chat and constant use of "sort of" "like" and "right?" (the bane of all podcast listeners I know) are aurally exhausting. With a tighter, more focused production this could be a riveting and entertaining minutes.

5. Great fun food info...but - Update /: Another star down for the snotty no orzo not in my pot remark and that contributor in general. Too much self congratulatory commentary from this person. NYC liberal Greek that you just p’oed. If it wasn’t for Adam Rapoport I’d unsubscribe. Love the podcast. It’s a lighthearted approach to the food game with interesting guests and recipes. I always learn something cool with each episode. (I took off a star because I love the babies arugula and spinach and so over you guys being over them!)

6. So good - I love cooking so this podcast is like made for me. I like listening about all the cool ingredients and people that share this interest in food. I don’t mean this in a rude way but your podcast helps me go to bed. All the talking about different spices and fresh produce and little stories connected to certain recipes are so comforting to listen to. So thank you

7. Not good anymore - Just like the magazine, this podcast has gone from mandatory listening to maybe later. From interesting and inspiring to boring and unhelpful. BA and the BA podcast used to be my favorite magazine and favorite podcast (not my favorite FOOD magazine and podcast but my favorite favorite) because it was about food but it was really about culture and it really spoke to what people who love food cared about— really good home cooking and homewares, restaurant culture, travel and all the ways food is an important access point and in an important dialogue with broader culture. With this new direction I shudder to say that if they’re not careful even Food and Wine might become the better option.

8. Somehow Worse than Before - Loved the podcast content with Adam (despite Adam being annoying % of the time). The content is so uninspiring now and I really dislike the tone of the new host. Feels awkward and very try hard. I’m sure she’s a great person! I don’t think she’s the right choice as the host. Sorry.

9. Not filling the void - This used to be my favorite podcast, I would save it until Friday mornings as a treat. I fully fully understand why Adam was ousted and it was time to usher in a new era but this just ain’t it. I rarely listen now, it’s uninspiring, full of fake laughter, rarely about cooking or the vivid food world leaders of the previous iteration. I miss my BA podcast! And also why is Chaey always so negative about every single thing she talks about.

1. Intellectual Woke Virtue Signaling - I really enjoy most of your food content, but you have started to bring your status as a white male into conversation on this pod way too often. It’s completely irrelevant most of the time and it just comes across as intellectual woke virtue signaling. If we want to help this country, the best thing we can start doing is to stop talking about each other’s race and treat each other with respect based on our merits and our work ethic. No need to be a race apologist.
2023-02-28
2. Very enjoyable counterpart to Adam's YouTube channel - I really enjoy the Adam (and sometimes Adam and Lauren) Pod. Adam follows tangents down attention-holding rabbit holes, putting more questions into my head just as he answers them in the next sentence. I do enjoy the candid dialogue between Adam and Lauren, however, when Adam is recording solo I do prefer his more prepared/scripted style of the earlier shows. Anyway, keep up the good work Adam and thanks for podcast!
2022-11-22
3. - Adam is well-spoken and covers topics that are generally interesting (and even when the topic doesn’t interest me it usually ends up entertaining anyway). He’s an open book and offers insights to being a content creator that are fascinating in addition to his food stuff. Also, his ads are just him speaking, which I find so much more palatable than ads that are like radio commercials inserted in the middle of things. Tell your friends so he can keep this up. It’s an excellent addition to my podcast rotation.
2022-10-29
4. Great cooking channel, great podcast - As is probably the case for most of this show’s audience, I’ve watched Adam’s YouTube channel for years and loved his direct, utilitarian approach to home cooking and his exploration of the history and science of food. If you like the show, I bet you’ll like the pod. And even if you didn’t come here through the show, I still recommend the pod: Adam’s thoughtful, thorough in his research, and has a great voice for radio. The topics he delves into vary a ton thanks to the Q/A format, so if one discussion isn’t grabbing you, I’d wager the next one might.
2022-10-24
5. Food Philosophy - Long time fan of his YouTube channel. I love especially when he goes scientific. I consider Adam a Food Philosopher because he goes beyond the food, he talks about why food is the way it is, and how industry and society shape the way we perceive food. Great guy. The
Punkrock Capitalist

6. Great show - Absolutely love the show. I love things that get you to think and Adam definitely does this. True he talks about opinions and not just facts but the truly valuable part of that is that even the opinions are based upon facts, or observations. It’s not always about the what but the how and why. Love learning from this guy!
2022-10-10
7. Good for all the regular reasons, and some surprising ones. - What I like the most about Adam is how he brings the listener and viewer(started on YouTube) into his kitchen, where he doesn’t just show you good food, but engages you in meaningful conversation. I appreciate how much his personal feelings and worries and reasonings make it into the videos. For lack of a better term, it makes his work feel human. We are not being presented a show, but are offered a seat at his table while he cooks for us. Even sponsors are presented in a way that promotes the item or service without being flashy and forced. The dishes are surprisingly unique, and I love how he isn’t afraid to experiment, both with recipes and diversifying his voice(you’ve got this Adam!). Then, he’ll take what we know and love about food in a whole new direction, examining the science, producers, schemes, or history behind it. No other food channel I know of does this with such regularity, and this podcast, after listening to the first episode, is going to do even more of that. This is the first podcast I’ve ever sunk my teeth into , and while I do like seeing the videoed discussions, I’m sure this is something I will develop an appetite for! Keep dishing out this Fruit for Thought Adam! No questions yet, but I can leave more reviews.
2022-07-26
8. Excellent culinary science/history/casual chatting - I’ve been a fan of Adam’s youtube channel (simply called “Adam Ragusea”), and this is a very good podcast companion to the channel. Adam’s voice is soothing, he generally explains things well and simply, he treats the subject matter respectfully, and his topics rarely fail to fascinate me. Adam, keep up the good work! (Assuming you enjoy it and it doesn’t end up becoming a metaphorical ball and chain)

9. Great podcast, podcast with well researched topics and an interesting host. - I ended up bingeing this podcast on a work trip and enjoyed learning more about the topics in the title as well as more about the host himself. Very interesting man that does he research and cares about what he puts out. Watching Adam's videos on YouTube was a dice roll on if I'd enjoy the content or get frustrated at how cautious he seems to be at stating certain facts or opinions he held. It's very refreshing to hear a more relaxed Adam talk freely about his well informed opinions and speculate on the world around him, not just food related topics. After learning more about the views he holds as a creator, I respect his cautiousness on YouTube.

1. Easy, approachable, and great for new chefs! - What a cool show! I love food and trying new recipes, but if I’m honest, listening to two hours of cooking advice is just not for me. Enter the one recipe! I love the quick, organized nature of the show. Usually under minutes, the show is long enough to get some of the juicy details, but short enough I don’t have to dedicate a portion of my life to listening. An easily accessible podcast focusing on new staples and styles of food that are just incredible! Plus, we get an inside look into the chefs and lives of people making great food. The guacamole episode stuck out to me as a gift, We love guacamole down here in Texas and I love the idea of flipping the script. I’ll use this for our next party for sure. Keep up the great work team! I’m looking forward to more recipes.

2. The perfect bite! - This podcast fills a true void in the food podcast world: just enough frill and backstory to connect to the person talking, but mostly, just real cooks talking about the act of cooking itself! The premise of the podcast is perfectly delivered on: I feel like a friend is talking me through their favorite recipe, with all their communicative passion, hunger and excitement. Thank you Jesse for this!
2022-03-31
3. Just the right length - I love that these segments are around min long, sets a nice cadence, brief highlight in the interviewee and then boom the recipe. Some podcasts that focus on a single recipe but have mins or longer I tend to stop listening, meanders way to much and it’s too much effort to imagine what they are doing as you listen. This is nice, I’ll keep listening, a nice friendly vibe.

3. Love the pod, not a fan of cancelling the LA show without notice - Bought tickets to the widely publicised LA show in Dec as a birthday gift for a dear British friend who is an expat. Flew in from Denver (sadly, not first class Virgin Atlantic!), took a . hour Uber, went to venue only to find they knew nothing of the show. There was actually a wake going on in the adjacent cemetery! On / episode they say the cancellation was beyond their control, but I have to believe it could have been communicated better. Luckily, dear friend & I had a good (albeit very expensive) laugh about the adventure.

4. Casual yet rich listening. - I just recently discovered this podcast and BOY OH BOY, has it been a godsend during global quarantine. There is enough structure to facilitate wonderful conversations, but it’s not so rigid that answers start to sound canned. You can hear the appreciation guests have for Jessie and Lennie’s hospitality and lovely home cooking as well as their cheeky banter. I’m also a yank and a sucker for Brit slang and chatter, so it’s really A all around. Subscribe NOW, and listen while you cook, puzzle, walk your dog, whatever. So good! Thanks gals. UPDATE: still love this pod, but Jessie and Lennie has a bad habit of interrupting their guests, which is especially annoying when the latter is trying to explain something. Just let them finish!

6. Obsessed!! - I’m late to the party here but I’m at the party now! I was telling a friend about my love of Jessie ware and then had to google her for something and that is when I found out about this podcast. I am beyond delighted!!! After going through cooking fatigue from my pandemic lockdown lifestyle this has ignited my cooking passion and continued my love of Jessie. Oh, and sweet sweet Lennie… I love them both. 8. Laura Mvula - What a thrill to have my two favs combined in this episode! I have loved Laura Mvula since my daughter introduced me to her music in . (can’t wait for her new album release and hoping for a US tour soon!). Jesse and Lennie became a part of my world when I discovered Table Manners a year ago - they were my daily companions as I caught up on all the back episodes - while on walks, in the garden, while cleaning house, working... Now I have to wait a whole week for a new episode I love them, love their guests - love their witty banter. Keep it coming! Cheers!

9. Thanks for this kickass podcast! - I’m listening to Dolly Parton tell Jessie and Lennie about ‘’a bunch of horny hillbillies in the mountains,’’ and I am so glad I found this gem. Jessie Ware (and her mom!) have ruled my spring so far. So glad I stumbled upon What’s Your Pleasure ( SUBLIME ) and equally glad I googled JW and found this pod. I love knowing that I’ve got multiple seasons to enjoy. Cheers to you both!

1. Frustrating - Very weak interviewer. Constantly interrupts people with pointless, rambling commentary. She seems to not know how rude and annoying this is. If she knows everything, why are there other people on this show. And if she wants to have informed debates, why not let people talk whether they agree or disagree. It’s very frustrating.

2. Absolutely fabulous!!!!!! - I recently discovered WFNP I started at the beginning, even though that was the info is still relevant except for prices of wine . After the first episode I knew I’d found a excellent podcast. I work at a wine bar I know a little but I want to learn more to feel confident about recommending wine to customers. I’ve learned soooo much episodes in. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to expand their knowledge about wine. I recently also purchased Elizabeth’s book, thank you Elizabeth doing what you do!!!! You and your husband are hilarious I love the banter and nerdy stuff.

3. Interruptions - This is a pretty decent tool to learn wine. There is some good information and I have definitely used it. That’s the good thing about this podcast. The bad things are, however, fairly glaring. The host is really bad with interrupting her guests. It really made me uncomfortable to the point I have more or less stopped listening. The banter between the host and her husband is pretty amusing and I did enjoy that part. The interruptions though…. Yikes.

4. What to know what a married couple in need of therapy sounds like?? - Positives: depth of catalog. Will tackle subjects others haven’t. Negative: this husband and wife team need marriage counseling. Host will annoyingly cut off her husband’s questions (which are we’ll times and appropriate) and shut him off. It would help to do more pre-recording practices so the questions are asked and not squashed. Too long. Too much babbling and inside jokes that make no sense to anyone. Supposedly a podcast for “normal people who hate the snobbery associated with wine”. There’s still plenty of arrogance here folks. Especially ironic given sommelier Elizabeth loves to bash other somms and wine figures in authority but herself demands that entitlement on her show. It’s almost impossible to listen to a full episode all the way through with the host being so annoying. The podcast can be done in / the time of the host didn’t spend SOO much requiring everyone to genuflect. Start each podcast at : mins and then skip secs forward until the real material starts. And I didn’t mention the annoying heavy Long Island accent that comes through. That said: I do appreciate the volume of work sommelier Elizabeth has put in. star for her poor husband and wine loving normal guy M. C. Ice who has to endure in person what the rest of us can simply do and hit the “end” button on the podcast and a relationship.

5. Awesomeness!! - This podcast provides such a great opportunity to learn about all things wine in the most accessible way possible. Elizabeth's breadth and depth of knowledge of all things wine coupled with her straight forward, down to earth delivery - makes the incredibly nuanced and complicated world of wine understandable and engaging. I love how MC Ice is always right there with the perfect follow up question to clarify complex ideas, he clearly understands the value of well timed and thoughtful question. I started back at and am working my way forward and learning so much along the way that I am applying straight away for enjoyment and understanding. I'm currently on a Burgundy and NZ pinot kick, with a side obsession of Galicia's epic Albariños. Not sure how I'll be moved from that as the Burgundy rabbit hole is deeper than the Mariana trench! Thank you very much folks. Keep being your awesome selves

6. Life is short — enjoy only good wine and good podcasts - This year I have been studying to take the CSW exam (and passed it — phew). Recently retired from year career and exploring possibility of starting a completly different next chapter. I enjoy wine, but have almost zero background and training. The study materials from Society of Wine Educators are excellent — extremely detailed and current (updated every year) but it’s very helpful to augment that material with informative and entertaining sources like WFNP. But it’s important that that information is reliable so as not to confuse or steer in the wrong direction and Elizabeth keeps current and contemporary. The deep dives on a variety of topics have been great to listen to: detailed information on history, how wine is made, viticulture, wine regions, terroir, styles, etc have given me fresh insights. I especially love the detailed sessions on the major grape varieties – – usually minutes or more devoted to a single grape variety, to help really understand the nuances of the most important ingredient of wine — the grape. Same with deep dives on particular areas. Elizabeth interviews some of the most respected experts, sommeliers, wine makers, distributors, authors, etc. in the industry — getting their perspectives is valuable. A nice bonus are the detailed show notes and episode websites. I’ve benefited so much that have been glad to support on Patreon to make sure episodes keep coming. Lastly, I usually listen while cycling, walking the dog, or driving and the upbeat energy of Elizabeth and MC Ice keep my interest. Definitely recommend to others. Salute.

7. Wonderful education - I started listening to your podcasts about a month ago. I went back to and have been listening to them in order - I’m up to the s or so. I thought I knew some about wine, but I have learned so so much. Thank you for making the world of wine accessible and unpretentious. Thank you for devoting your heat and soul to making sure learning about wine is fun for everyone. Thanks to you, my shoe budget has transformed into a wine budget (my husband is thrilled!!). He and I are primarily red drinkers, but thanks to you, we have branched out and stretched our palates to new whites (I have an Albariño and Alsace Pinot Gris on order) . Tonight I had an Oregon off-dry white (something I NEVER would have ordinarily chosen) with our Indian food. Absolutely amazing!! I just can’t believe the transformation. This will now be a permanent part of my cellar. Thank you for opening our hearts, minds and mouths to amazing new adventures. The wine world is truly blessed to have you. I look forward to all the amazing podcasts to come!

8. Fun and empowering - My husband and I started listening to Elizabeth’s podcast because we have a few wine snobs in our life who only drink expensive wines from certain high end wineries and talk down to us about drinking some of the less expensive ones. We’re just trying to have fun and find what we really like and Elizabeth has certainly helped with this. I now have a working knowledge of how to choose what we like and be confident in my choices without relying on critic scores and reviews. I can also now pick out different flavors that we like and boldly state what I’m looking for. As far as the wine snobs, Elizabeth has corrected A LOT of misinformation that we’ve been told about everything from “rules” on holding wines, what wines to buy, and how to select a great wine from a restaurant menu. (They only choose the most expensive bottles because that has to be the very best, right? And then also told us that restaurants only sell wine-by-the-glass for wines that aren’t good and they just pour them down the drain at the end of the night. Ludicrous!) Thank you, Elizabeth for educating and empowering us. We’re having fun drinking and learning about wine and guess what- we took your advice and we’re not tasting with the judgmental people because it really isn’t fun.

9. So fun!! - I love love love your podcast you are so fun to listen to!! I have to go back and replay replay because your podcasts contain so much information I want to absorb as much as I possibly can. I love MC Ice and I love your tap dancing music LOL keep up the good work and cheers from the Pacific Northwest! Love the show notes for review too!!

1. Malcolm, don’t let the one and only hater get you down - Love, love, love your YouTube channel, your products, and your podcast. I typically don’t write reviews, but after reading the ugly review left by “Chief”, I just couldn’t resist. I suspect that Chief is just upset because no one ever wants to come over when he barbecues and he can’t seem to figure out why. (Spoiler alert: It’s probably not because of the food.) Please keep doing what you’re doing. We love you guys and your recipes. Thanks for sharing with us.

2. Best Grilling Podcast anywhere - I love the HTBBQR Podcast. It is like good friends talking about all things delicious. Malcom has such an easy way to share techniques and he and ‘Chell (and the addition of Tyler) discuss things freely without a care. They have great guests and cooking and recipe tips. Take the time to slow down and enjoy this show!!

3. BBQ LOVE! - You and your Gal are the ABSOLUTE BEST!! Love the podcast,, How to BBQ RIGHT, your guests, Hi Tyler! I am hook line and sinker. You all have taught me so much, the only way I could express my total gratitude is to meet you all in person for giant bear hugs all around! Thank you so much for sharing your passion for BBQ! Much love, and I have very happy family & friends because of y’all sharing!!! Kimmy

4. Great Show - The th episode of may have been my favorite episode yet and yes I’ve listened to every single one of them. This episode for some reason caught and kept my attention. It was about grilling on a Weber Kettle of all things. However, it was informative about the product and the different ways you can cook on it. Not only that but I could hear the fondness for this seemingly mundane amateurs grill coming from a man, who in my opinion is the G.O.A.T. for inspiring and teaching us back yard cooks How To “freakin” BBQ Right!!! I’m going to buy a Weber and “git to cookin”. Thank you Malcom and Rachelle.

5. BBQ Therapy - In I was seriously injured in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and proceeded to spend three year rehabbing and fighting to give myself a normal life. It wasn’t until I began grilling and smoking that I could begin to heal. Malcom your videos on YouTube has been my greatest medication. I have fallen in love with this lifestyle and am now able to cook for my own kids. To you and your wife I wanna say thank you for all that you do. It’s more than just cooking; it’s therapy. Grill on Reed Family! -Adam (Mechanicsville, VA)

6. One-of-a-kind - There’s nobody like Malcom in the bbq circuit! He and Southern Chelle have had me hooked for about yrs now! And the podcasts are even better! Their personalities shine! Not only am I learning bbq from the GOAT, I find myself crying with laughter most of the way through! Absolutely phenomenal product!

7. Great Videos, Entertaining Podcast and more - I found the videos recently and have really enjoyed Malcolm’s style and clear instructions and reasons why he does things. Then I listened to the podcast and dig the conversational style and further breakdown on how he does the recipes...plus he threw a sweet old-school pro-Wrestling reference in there! (Dutch Mantell’s chest hair)

8. Great Show With Audio Issues - I’ve been watching Malcom’s videos for years, and he’s continued to provide great information about BBQ on this podcast. Highly recommended listen if you’re new to bbq or even a seasoned backyard pit master. The only thing I can complain about is the audio quality. It’s just hit and miss. One week it will sound clear, crisp, and professional...then the next week (like this weeks episode Sep ) will sound like they left the microphones in one room and did the show from another room. Still a great show though, and I will listen regardless.

9. The man knows BBQ..... - I have been following Malcom for about a year now and I have to say, his methods, personality and honesty makes him a diamond in the ruff in the BBQ World. Watching him on YouTube, then finding his PodCast has helped me out tremendously. I would love to meet this man (and his wife) to shake his and and say thank you. Thanks to Malcom, we now make our own AP Rub and put it on EVERYTHING. If you follow Malcom, you will know and learn the AP! Love watching and listening to you guys! Keep up the good work and keep the ‘Q comin! Love ya all!

1. Love Cherry Bombe! Disappointed by Meta Eva Chen - I love Cherry Bombe and am usually so impressed by the guests and compelling interviews. Very lame to interview Eva Chen, who has been complicit to Instagram/FB/Meta poisoning our teen girls among other malices. LEAVE Mark Z., Eva! Working for Meta is tres uncool and not fashion.

2. A tasty treat - Radio Cherry Bombe was new to me last year (). Since I started listening, I look forward to each episode. Some reviews criticize the interviews for not being sort of hard-hitting journalism, but to me, they seem to be much more conversational. Which I like and appreciate. The best thing for me is being introduced to new books and ideas. I have purchased at least cookbooks I heard about here (and as a librarian, I seldom purchase books for myself). Each has been a treat and as I read and coin from them, I can hear the author’s own voice from the interview. Highly recommended.

3. Love this inspiring food podcast - When I need to relax and feel good, I put on Radio Cherry Bombe. Between Kerry’s soothing alto and thoughtful questions, inspiring guests, and eye-opening convos about all things food, I walk away feeling girl power and an urge to get in the kitchen. Plus it’s not just food fluff. I appreciate how the interviews get into the nuts and bolts of different aspects of the food industry and shows how empowered women are growing businesses/platforms that rethink the status quo. And when Kerry tells us to hang in there and that we’re the bomb...I really feel that!!

4. SO inspiring! - This podcast has saved me on so many occasions. Kerry asks such insightful questions and is so genuine in her approach to each interview. I look forward to each episode, and even though I am not in the food industry—it never fails to touch my heart with a sense of true belonging. Thank you for all that you do! Love love love it!

5. Hmmm - While I almost always adore the podcast, I often find Kerry generalizing and stereotyping Americans compleeeetely from her New York perspective. And it’s just annoying. Listening today was a great example— “Americans are finally starting to appreciate rhubarb.” HA! What? Rhubarb has been a staple ingredient for generations for an entire third of the country (just chop off each coast line). It would be much more enjoyable to listen to is she didn’t perpetually assume so much about her entire (large and very varied) homeland.

6. Four stars to one star: A leftist pro-abortion propaganda podcast - It’s a sad day for me as a podcast-loving foodie and home cook- the very podcast that got me into podcasts and took me to the next level in my journey to become a domestic goddess has posted a podcast today celebrating Planned Parenthood and abortion. Despite their vehemently and insultingly anti-conservative post-election podcast I found from , I decided to keep listening because their content is so awesome. My mom bought me their cookbook for my birthday last summer and it changed my culinary life. I can’t tell you how many of their episodes have inspired me to take my food obsession to the next level. I’m sad to have to say that today I will be unsubscribing and not listening to their podcast anymore. They have turned an amazing platform for female home cooks, foodies, and chefs into a political propaganda podcast. Until they have a female pro-life women who cook episode to balance their platform, I will never be listening to them again. Abortion does not belong in my kitchen. It sounds like the only thing y’all support women baking in their oven is cookies; not babies. A reminder to ladies of New York City: Planned Parenthood does NOT speak on behalf of all women. How many women have their services killed before they had the chance to be born? How many future Julia Childs have been aborted since your services started? Bon voyage, bombe squad. It’s too bad that conservative women will never be welcome in your bombesquad

7. Mental Soul Food - This podcast is incredibly inspirational, funny, warm, and informational. My only frustration with it is that interviews very (very!) frequently end just as they are getting into the actual nitty gritty info and the actual how-to. Breaks my heart a little. Also, the oldest Jubilee episodes have broken audio and it's still not fixed so that's a bummer. That said, Julia is a masterful interviewer who approaches the job with such purity, simplicity, nuance, charm and grace and the guests range from absolutely epic to I'm-so-glad-I-heard-of-this-person-now!
2019-03-14
8. Good not great - I love the mission of Cherry Bombe and the guests on the show are exceptional. I wish Kerry was more assertive in her interviews. It often feels more like she’s fangirling instead of asking the hard questions. The interviewees are amazing and listeners will understand that from hearing their responses rather than from the host constantly gushing about them. I’m also confused why the mistakes aren’t edited out of the podcast. Is it necessary to hear an ad twice because it was misread the first time? I have so much faith in this podcast and think that it could become really great if it continues to improve.
2018-03-23
9. An Irresistible Podcast - Once you get a taste of the Cherry Bombe podcast, you'll be compelled to listen to it all the time. I swear. I discovered Cherry Bombe when I saw their cookbook event listed on the Harvard Bookstore website, featuring one of my favorite local chefs, Joanne Chang. I have learned so much from this podcast, and it keeps me constantly engaged and curious about the accomplished women featured in each show. Kerry is just as charismatic in person as she is via audio, and this is hands down my favorite podcast. Thank you Kerry and Claudia for creating such an amazing platform!

Serious Eats' podcast Special Sauce enables food lovers everywhere to eavesdrop on an intimate conversation about food and life between host and Serious Eats founder Ed Levine and his well-known/famous friends and acquaintances both in and out of the food culture.

Comments
1. Filled with fascinating food people - It’s very interesting to hear the back stories and personal histories of these chefs and cooks. The host has a lot of respect for these journeys and lets the guests tell their stories, which are often very relatable and include tips on techniques and recipes. Even if you aren’t much of a cook or food person yourself It’s a good listen!
2022-12-28
2. Just delicious! - Really love this show! Ed does a great job making connections between cusine and culture. I can literally feel his sincerity in everything he says, and I can tell the guests he brings on are people he is genuinely excited to share with his listeners. Pull up a chair and take a bite!
2021-04-26
3. Less Ed, please - I had to unsubscribe to this eventually, even though I love the guests, because of how much I dislike Ed’s interview style. He cannot get through a conversation without somehow spotlighting himself. It’s tone deaf, disrespectful and annoying when guests have much more interesting stories that I haven’t already heard times.
2021-03-25
4. Food is politics...sorry complainers - To those complaining and wanting the host to shut up about politics and just talk about food, here’s a newsflash. Food is politics. And if you don’t know that you are not paying attention and/or you have never experienced food insecurity. Our entire food system is based on politics - how it’s marketed, what we have access to, how farmers are allowed to operated (ya, know, the little thing called the Farm Bill everyone has been talking about), etc. Water is wet, people. Get over yourselves or perhaps tune in to Guy Fieri instead if what you are looking for is all flash and no substance.
2020-08-01
5. Ed has curated amazing talent and attracts world-class guests. However... - Ed, the host, seems to make the podcast about himself, and appears to find himself more amusing than what he really is. He constantly turns the conversations with his guests to his struggles starting Serious Eats or how he was a horrible employee, instead of spending as much time as possible on his guests. Also, his referring to knowing famous chefs or having eaten at famous restaurants feels more like name dropping than conversational. Five stars for when someone other than Ed is talking. One for when Ed is talking. Ed, if you read this, congrats on your success. But please make the podcast less about you.
2019-12-09
6. . is a big no - I’d hope the new . version would improve things, but it’s only gotten worse. •Ed still interrupts his guests and drones on about “when I started Serious Eats...”
•The volume is still too low
•It’s very NYC-centric •The ask Kenji segment isn’t organized: it’s just Kenji rattling off way too much info way too fast without staying on point
•Recycled video content doesn’t translate well for radio, plus I’d rather have new content
•Ed’s new voiceovers are done in the most high pitched condescending voice
•Sasha Marx’s voice isn’t radio friendly
•More Stella Parks and Daniel Gritzer are what’s needed
•Most of the guests are great
2019-11-13
7. Lazy language - Ed Levine is an engaging conversationalist, but I stopped listening to the podcast after I heard him repeatedly use the word “seminal” to describe various food-industry luminaries and/or their accomplishments. As a reminder, seminal: adjective sem· i· nal \ ˈse-mə-nᵊl Definition of seminal : of, relating to, or consisting of seed or semen : containing or contributing the seeds of later development : creative, original a seminal book Ed, I’m begging you—please stop using this highly gendered word to describe important contributions to the industry, and be more thoughtful in general about the way you communicate with guests and listeners.
2019-07-24
8. Almost provincial - I enjoy podcasts about food, but sometimes the whole New York schtick gets to be too much. Especially when the host starts besmirching other region's or country's foods. Yes, that's his opinion, but it can be off putting -- especially when the host (as he tends to do) goes on and on and on like a dog with a bone.
2019-03-01
9. Interesting guests, so let them talk - Let the guests get a word in edgewise. Ed seems like a charming person, but his hosting and interview skills leave something to be desired. His attempts to relate to guests through sharing his personal experience are perfectly normal for a regular conversation, but in a podcast interview format it leaves something to be desired. With a little polish, or a different host this podcast could be really great. As it stands, it’s just ok.
