Buford encounters many infamous characters and events, and depicts them with both humor and gut-punch realism. He doesn't flinch from examining the dark allure of violence, either- honestly examining his own complex reaction to the experience of being part of a lawless mob. HIGHLY recommended to anyone who's the least bit interested in the subject.

2. It's ing Excellent! - Unlike some "blogger" books, this is not a collection of posts through the years put together in print form to generate an extra buck or two. Mr Mangan has put together a motley crew of journalists, fellow bloggers, and Arsenal fans who have written essays about the team. It's a worthy addition to any Arsenal fan's library and a fun read. It makes me proud to be a Gooner that fellow fans were able to publish a book like this.

Pro soccer most likely isn't in the cards for me, but this book just proves how influential the beautiful game can be even if I'm not a part of it anymore. I was in tears from page one until the end. 1. Very Funny, If a Little Backward Looking - Fans of soccer will enjoy this new book from the goofy/sweet hosts of the Premier League TV show. I did. Not as comprehensive as it could be—I was looking for entries on PL teams, and some significant omissions exist. And it has a nogistalgic “look back” feel to it. Would have liked the contemporary game to have been covered in more detail. Still recommended.
