1. New Data Point, Seth? - The fact that I was able to click the “I’m Finished” button at the end of this book (well, of course it says that it was a very well written and structured book... and/or it just says that I’m incredibly interested in the subject matter...) it says that there’s a data point available for us to use to empirically test those statements between the parentheses. We could use this in conjunction with the highlight data and narrow it down to just non-fiction books and find out what features make a non-fiction book “finishable.” Or would there be too many data points that we would suffer from the curse of dimensionality? Read this book and you too will begin to form questions like the above as well as ideas on how to test your hypotheses on them.

1. Stands alone, one of a kind book - honest and humbling - I was not aware of the book focusing on the same order police battalion by Professor Goldhagen until I reached Browning’s new afterword. While reading the afterword, I jumped back and forth between his writing and other sources I could find that offered synopses and perspective on Goldhagen’s book. Though not having read Goldhagen’s book, I seriously doubt whether its widespread popular acclaim shortly after publication indicates a better recounting and more accurate description of the causal factors that led ordinary men to perpetrate industrial genocide. Browning scores high and sends an enduring message about the common thread through all of humanity, echoed in the works of Solzhenitsyn, Dostoyevsky, and other timeless writers.

2. Amazing book - If you are interested in how seemingly regular people can be driven to commit atrocities like those of the holocaust, this is a great book. It’s so great that I don’t think I’ll be able to read it again. Browning did an amazing job at describing what these men did. Truly a great piece of literature.

4. Great book - This book like many of Robert Greene's enlightens us around the world we live in. This book focuses so much on not fearing and how this puts all of the laws of power in play. Giving the book a urban spin, made this a good and easy read. This is my fifth time reading as I have the hard copy also. Can't wait to start on Mastery.

5. Sometimes you need a stepping stone to reach the stars,.. - Medicine is only good if it's accessible, in the same way knowledge is only good if it can be understood. I've read the first three of R.Greene's books and this book is as powerful if not more potent than his prior books because it is a doorway of greatness for those who need hope and a pathway to begin their walk towards greatness. It can be medicine for those who hustle and grind in the hood. Savage Skulls

6. Good book but - You can tell that this is clearly written by Robert Greene, and definitely cent didn't write a sentence of it. Bob used cent's name for little bit and then the rest is from his mind, not 's. that's why it's a by wallstreet, the other books by wouldn't be without help of Robert, so take the authors name, cent, off of the book.. . The book is great, I like cent, I look upto him ever since I was a kid... I never liked reading books but this book made me like reading and specially with the iBook app, double awesome. Good way of spending my bucks :)

7. Recognize - If you haven't read the book and are making predicated comments based on the fact that cent is a part of the book then please take your dumbass comments somewhere else. To say that a book is bad because you have a biased opinion of the author takes stupidity to another level! I have read Robert Greenes books ( Laws of Power and the Art of Seduction) and believe him to be an accomplished writer as well as an informed individual. His writing style is perfectly suited for my tastes and the side stories are entertaining and I formative. This book is all the more practical as it relates current events to historic events and shows the correlation between the two. A must read for anyone looking to strengthen their work ethic and position or for anyone looking for an interesting read. If your bad mouthing a book based on the author, I'd suggest starting an art farm and not coming out of your mamas basement!

8. This is a extended version of The Laws of Power. - This is a very interesting read, there are so many haters out in the world today that some people hate on anything that has Cents name on it,truth be told the same people that hate now was all on this mans Jammy! Writer Robert Green did a good job adding this novel, until you've walked a mile in another mans shoes, you can't speak on that man. Cause you don't truly know where that man comes from! Buy this book. " In order to understand a thing, you must first know the nature of a thing! "

1. Read Me - You see the words “read me” as the title of a review, and you follow them like a drone? This is no ordinary book. As informative as it is entertaining, this book can teach people how to overcome things such as social anxiety and rejection. Neil Strauss includes stories from his life as a pickup artist, a workout program of sorts for improving social & dating skills, and word-for-word pickup lines known as routines that have been proven effective time after time. I’ve read Rules of the Game several times and I could read it several more without it losing its appeal. If you enjoyed The Game and would like to delve into the science behind pickup artistry even more, or if you’d simply like to hear more tales of debauchery at its finest, Rules of the Game is a must-read!

2. Good Stuff! - I have to say that Neil's writing has improved a great deal and it feels like he found a voice. I read The Game some time ago and liked it, but at one point it felt just like a recitation of events. This volume has a great sense of humor borne of his experiences and his background, living and working in LA. It also has, dare I say it, Style. As for the Stylelife Challenge, yes, it is working for me, at least in terms of becoming less shy. I find I can talk to other people without a whole lot of trepidation or fear after doing the first few exercises, conscientiously. I'm on Day so I haven't become a full-fledge PUA, yet, if ever. But I do like the exercises. Certainly it's helping me in my daily life and in my career.

1. An inspirational book. - The first time I heard of the pursuit of happiness was when I watched the movie version with Will Smith then later on, I read the book. And what I learned from the book and the movie is that any goal that we want to achieve in life is possible with a good and positive attitude and a firm faith in God and Jesus Christ. And more importantly, don’t let anyone tell you that it’s impossible. Because in reality, it’s not impossible at all.

2. Anazing - I had seen the movie a few years ago, and being a new’ish’ father I figured I’d read the book. As always, the book is x better. The movie is great, but to be in the Authors head and to feel what he feels makes all the difference. It is sad at times, happy at times, but most of all it is motivating. Great read!

3. The Pursuit of happiness - This is one of the best memoirs I have ever read, specially since I live in the Bay Area. I am years old, and this book is very inspiring in many levels. Don't hesitated on buying this book. You will understand what it like to be poor, and wealthy. You also learn a lot. Thank you Chris Garner for opening up, you're a great remodel to the young community. Sincerely Lester Pixcar

4. "The Pursuit of Happyness" - This book is simply a remarkable read for anyone who is looking to envision a better tomorrow. Chris Gardner vividly articulates his testimony in a way in which speaks to the lives of common folk who experience extraordinary obstacles. Yet, many are reminded oh so often that they have the right to be in "the pursuit of happyness."

5. Love it!!!!! ;-) - It mad me cry every time and think how thankful I am for what I have. It's a heart filling journey that just sweeps my mind up. I just keep reading it over and over again and the movie is spectacular especially with Will Smith playing the main role. I love the movie but I love the book so much more thank you for writing a heart filling piece and telling people how other people might not have as much as you but that doesn't mean you treat them different.

6. Great story Mr. Gardner, well-deserve god's blesses - I have watched the movie more than times and read the book, and each time I watch again the movie my eyes fills with tears and my soul boost up with hope, enthusiasm and feel that I am blessed. Great story Mr. Gardner and absolute good selection of Will Smith.

1. Very Interesting - I couldn’t stop reading it. It flowed nicely and the information presented really made me ponder and reflect, however, at times the writing felt disconnected. I couldn’t put the ideas together in a continuous narrative. Seemed like the flow of consciousness was a bit scattered or his ideas were not tied into the main story. Overall very intriguing but lost a few stars for being somewhat confusing.

Born in Germany a black child, one would imagine that he would not only not survive, but he did and did sounder the most difficult circumstances of racism and hate in a place and time where so many lives were taken. His and his Mother’s were spared. God had plans for Hans and Mom. He had an incredible ancestors and I so enjoyed all the turns his life took and it’s ascension. 1. Misleading title. - The title was misleading. While some of the studies discussed were interesting, I was not expecting the entire book discussion to be about black and white issues in America. All of the examples given were meant to support the author bias point of view. I felt exclusive looking at the issue from an Asian American perspective. My family migrated to America in . My father, a prisoner of war, undiagnosed PTSD, and an alcoholic. Six of us were living in a bedroom apartment, and I have lived the American dream and became a physician. I don’t see a bootstrap narrative there. It would be much more inclusive if the author present stories of the newly arrived African Americans, other ethnic minorities, and look at the discrepancies of these groups to draw a meaningful solutions for every body to look at, not just back and white.

1. Awesome Book - If you want a deep dive into the inner workings of Ben’s mind, then this is the book for you. A ton of great points are made, and he really gets philosophical, which was cool. I recommend this book to anyone with an open mind, and wants a deep understanding of a lot of what’s going on in this day and age.

2. Lovely and Stunning - Ben Shapiro shows us what the west has built using capitalism, reason and Judeo-Cristianity and how amazing it is, and juxtaposes it to societies that have failed because they rejected those principles. All of the people saying that he wrote this so religious people can feel good about themselves, I think that is rather missing the point. It is about the moral values and standards that Cristianity sets, and not necessarily about the religion itself. And that those principles WORK. It’s not a coincidence that the societies that based themselves on these Fundaments flourished and the ones that rejected it didn’t. I sincerely hope people will be able to look on this insightful and informed work with an objective eye and possibly have it opened. America is worth living and fighting for. The references were so good I ended up using it for my report comparing the American to the French Revolution-absolutely brilliant. Shapiro is one of the best minds we‘ve come across in this modern age and a powerful weapon. Absolutely recommend!

3. Don’t pay attention to the bad reviews - There’s a lot people hating on the book without reading it. Yes, the book is bias Shapiro makes that very clear. However, I think he tries to be fair about it. Great read easy to read and follow. If you’re a open minded liberal that would like to see the argument on the right give it a try I think it will help you understand conservatives more.
2019-09-17
4. Nonsense - The books founding thesis is only half right, that being that the logic of Ancient Greece and the faith of Judeo-Christian values worked hand in hand to basically make the west as good as it is. Ancient Greece surely had a positive influence on western civilization, they were the fathers of democracy after all, but Judeo-Christian values are almost completely incompatible with both modern western civilization and even the values of Ancient Greece. One need simply take a cursory glance at history (or even the Bible) to know this is true. This book is simply propaganda to make the religious-right feel good.
2019-08-28
5. Read the intro - People commenting next to nothing show they haven’t bothered to even read the very beginning. All it takes is for everyone, on every side, to start investing information from multiple sources and people to start the end of this insanity we are in. Read it then give an honest opinion including disagreeing on points, not simply saying two words.
2019-05-16
6. Go away Libtards - We right wingers don’t go on Obamas things and rate a one star and put “no” ... find better things to do with your life. Ben Shapiro in the end will always still be more intelligent than half of y’all. I’ve followed him from the very beginning, he not only brings in the facts, BUT knows how to stick to topic. Love this man.
2019-05-03
7. I bought the book because of the thoughtless star reviews - As a moderate historian I find it imperative to subjugate myself to both points of view, whether it is Howard Zinn or Ben Shapiro. I am far from religious, however I can appreciate the argument he presents based on the examples he provides.
2019-05-01
8. Good Western Civ review but little analysis - This book is a worthwhile read, but it wasn’t what I expected from Ben Shapiro. His thesis is sound but the majority of this book is a summary of the major philosophers of Western Civ. The book ends with some analysis of the current civilization, but I expected a deeper level of observation.

9. dollars for an ebook? - Until these ridiculous prices come back down to $. where they should be, people will continue to pirate. Publishers don’t seem to understand when you lower the price, you will double your sales. Or more. You would think they would’ve learned that from the record industry, but apparently not.
2019-04-04
10. Apple Bias - What’s interesting as I go to post a review of a well written book I find a suggested review, which is not the most recent, two words long, and not representative of the majority of reviews you find here. Curious, stop hating on Ben because he might have a different view :-) If you have an intelligent argument make it or be quiet ;-)
2019-04-02
11. Great Book - Great read took me about h to read so not super long. Gives an interesting view of western philosophy very different from the ideas about western philosophy that I hear about in my classrooms. I’m not a fan of the author but I think he gives an honest take on the development/origins of western thoughts and ideas.

Benny Shapdaddy, edgelord of debate -
When I see a leftist, I eviscerate!
Since facts don’t care about feelings, I twist the knife,
Brutalizing them, ignoring pleas for their life. (yeah!)
My rhetoric discards their corpse, leaves it burnt out, on fire
As you’ll read about, on the Daily Wire!
Benny Shapdaddy, I’m um… ’”?
Only us true Israelis will go to heaven- (ay!)
Gotta make sure Israel stays united forever
Keep Palestinian’s rights on the backburner!
When the Dems boycott AIPAC, it means that they’re the real Nazis,
The true capital has always been Jerusalem, never Tel Aviv.

Learn and understand importance of distinction between the individual and the collective and how focusing to much on one or the other has shaped historical societies. And, most importantly, be motivated to learn more about the life we live in America and what makes it possible.

1. An Interesting Read - This book is a good read for somebody who finds themselves at a loss when attempting to understand women. It’s not a “pick-up” guide or anything lame like that, but a scientific and scholarly look at how our long-held assumptions about the female sex may be outdated. Definitely worth a read.

2. Reader - Great book, sad to see it end. Thank you Daniel for writing it. The better we can understand desire and sex the better our lives will be. Really nice to see research that is not based on the standard narrative, that has never made sense to me, always made me feel bad about myself. The standard narrative just exists to keep women repressed. Thanks again !

1. Great Sports Book - This is a well researched and thoughtfully composed book. I highly recommend it for anyone, soccer fan or not, who is interested in the dynamics of tribalism and the general human condition. The only disappointment is that I've never read a sports book that is close to this in quality.

2. Overall Good Book - Whilst overall I thought it was a very good book with interesting and unique stories and examples, I though it skimped a little on the analogy between soccer and globalisation. Even though it was clearly there I felt it could have been better explained and more plainly put. But other than that I quite enjoyed it and really loved the ability to read it on my iPad/iPhone.

1. Into the Raging Sea - An excellent work of research, journalism and clear writing style. Explanations of hurricane formation and behavior, ship construction and performance and the human element in sailing were very informative. One suggestion: a map of the ship’s route keyed to critical times and the location of the storm and its eye would have most welcome. Jim Lyons, Denver, CO

2. First to the store - Ms Slade and her publisher knew the first titilating book to the trough about this tragedy would sell big.
As a published author and maritime Academy grad who spent years on merchant ships and an insider to the troubles at Saltchuck, I see her writing as mediocre and her research misses the real reason for this tragedy. She spends a great deal of time giving her views on race relations ( generally not a problem on ships) and other social topics and misses the real heart of this story...the big corporate problem of profit before safety at the parent Saltchuk. Wait for a better researched book to find out what really happened

3. Into the Raging Sea - A very engrossing read. Didn’t know anything about this actual event, so reading about it and learning about the maritime industry (what an absolutely criminal mess) made me furious and sad. As long as rich ship owners exist, we will continue to see these preventable tragedies happen. I just hope authors like this one continue to tell the world about them.

4. Excellent read! - Could not put it down: insightful, thoroughly researched and eminently readable factual presentation of the causes, including hubris, of the sinking of El Faro and loss of its crew. Also, a good overview of maritime law, history and current fault lines that should be a must-read for anyone in the shipping industry. Makes one appreciate the sacrifices so many make to give us all the goods we really take for granted. Bravo!

From pages filled with conservative talking points and the erasure of Native Americans, this book is written by the man who’s never fixed a chair, complains about how there aren’t enough carpenters while doing absolutely nothing to learn the skill themselves.
