1. The Soul of Hawaii - I was introduced to the late great brudda Iz on our Hawaiian honeymoon in . I remember hearing 'Lover of mine' for the first time during 'happy hour' at the resort we were staying at and was mesmerized by the haunting beauty of Iz's voice. I bought this CD the next day at the gift shop and still listen to it for its tranquil melodies that bring me back to the Aloha state. Highly recommend this CD. Iz was truly a special human being.

2. Hawaiian Heart - My father served in the US Navy, stationed at Pearl Harbor. I was lucky enough to grow up close to the Kamakawiwo'ole family. Here I learned of the Hawaiian heart. My mother and Iz's mother were very good friends. This allowed me to spend plenty of time inside the home of brother Moon. It was in these days of my youth that I first heard the sounds of Iz and the Makaha Son's. Their love changed my heart forever. Its such a blessing to now have his music availible to all via i-tunes. If your new to the sounds of Hawaii - this is the place to start. Aloha, Tim Jordan

5. In Dis Life - This song is OUR song. We used it for our first dance for our wedding. We dance to it every chance we get. My husband will play it out of the blue and ask me to dance. We LOVE this song. Just listen to the words. It's wonderful as all of his songs are. We miss bruddah IZ. We heard all of the semi trucks drive down the highway the day of IZ's funeral. It was the saddest day in Hawaii. We were having softball practice out near Pearl Harbor. We love and miss you!!!

6. A Heart of Gold - Aloha, I remember this concert, it wasn't in but before I left the islands. The Waikiki Shell was packed as we and most of Hawai'i sat on the lawn right outside to hear his voice. When he passed, all roads headed west following the semi carrying his ash. I grew up with his music, felt like a big brother ... I'm glad he is on itunes for others to enjoy. Mahalo, a hui hou.

7. brudda iz - Iv'e been listening to brudda iz for about six years now and as far as hawaiian music goes there are few who come close to him. If you like brudda iz check out The Makaha sons he was a part of them before he went out on his own. Others you should consider are Hapa,Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu, and Keali'i Reichel.

1. Simply Amazing - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole has the best recorded version I've ever heard of Kainoa. Seven songs feature new arrangements including a previously unreleased version of Paper Doll and simply amazing versions of You Don't Know Me, Sea of Love, I'll Be There and a joy filled version of Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World. This collection also features nine songs from his time with the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau including the live version of Rusty Old Steampipes. This is truly unforgettable music.

1. Call it Swing, Call it Swing, I call it Modern Swagger! Love it - These guys are going to rock the Mainland... How long has this group been under the radar. Too cool, too much fun, and pure soul found here. Buy the album and make sure to see them in Concert before they get sold out. Hollywood Insider

2. Kings of Hawaiian Swing! - I didn't know Hawaiian music could sound like this until I heard these guys in Kona. Such fun. The lead singer's gravelly voice, the harmony, the catchy swing rhythm--it grabs you. Never heard anything quite like it. I've been waiting impatiently for their CD to be released. Check it out!

1. I heard this artist in Hawaii on Oahu - A warm summer night outside at the Outrigger Reef Hotel was the first and only time I heard this album sung. It was so beautiful my husband bought it for me because I loved the last song especially.
It was Thank you Lord. Beautiful. I look forward to hearing more of his music to remind me of our time on vacation in Hawaii. Mahalo for happy memeories!

2. What a voice! - Weldon Kekauoha has the quintessential island voice and some of the most beautiful arrangements in his musical genre. He is a multi Na Hoku Hanohano award winner. Every song on this classic album is a gem, but you really must listen to its namesake, "Ka Lehua 'Ula." On this track Kekauoa's voice is coupled with some of the nicest ukulele fills in Hawaiian music. I can listen to this album over and over again. Beautiful!

1. History of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar - I use to live in Hawaii. Back then, this music was played all over town in every store, hotel or Happy Hour. I've tried to find it on CD many times, but failed. Then the other day I was in Trader Joes Market and this music was playing. When I asked the store Manager if he knew the name of the CD he told me it was the "History of the Hawiaain Steel Guitar". He asked if it brought back memories and I said it sure does......so i found it on iTunes and bought it. My home is very tropical and I love to have this music playing in the background......it takes me right back to living there. Mind you, this music was old when I lived there...but there is just something about it that makes me smell the ocean and see palm trees.

1. Hawaiian Ukelele Awesome-sauce! - I would encourage anyone interested in pulling the trigger to purchase these songs. The music and the arrangement is phenomenal. I play the ukelele myself and am constantly marveling the the ability of this album to send my mind and thoughts floating away somewhere. I don’t know who the artists are but they sound like Top Caliber talent! I hope they create more music!

1. Hawaiian Tangos, Hulas and Blues - Ken Emerson is, perhaps, Hawaii's most underappreciated artist. His "Slack and Steel" LP is a stirring example of the charm that can be produced by a knowledgeable and skillful approach to Hawaii's unique slack key and steel guitar masterpieces. Here, Ken shows how beautifully the Hawaiian flavor can be woven into tango and blues themes. Though there are performers of this wonderful genre that are better known, there aren't that many that can match Ken's skill and confidence once the music starts. Ken Emerson's music has an honored place in my Hawaiian music library.
