1. Over Produced - I love KD and what he is, but unfortunately I really don’t like this album. I have been following KD since his first album (One track heart). In my opinion this album really gets away from the spiritual power of Kirtan. It feels very over produced and almost like a child sing along. But as always, thanks KD for being an ambassador of peace.

2. Kowboy Krishna Das - KD has done it again! This album has wonderful kirtan with a little alt. pop country twist. Just when I felt KD had perfected his take on some chants, he takes a left turn to evolve them into a whole new fashion. I wouldn't be surprised if KD gets another nomination for a Grammy.

3. So Grateful for This New KD Offering! - This album is technically meticulous, musically brilliant and full of heart! The kirtan choir sounds fabulous, all the musicians - tabla, bass, violin, cello, flute, percussion, etc - are top notch! And, of course, KD's voice and harmonium bring it all together into a perfect gem. Many thanks to all who helped create this CD and who make up the world-wide chanting community! All love!

1. Hmmm - Wow. How many times can someone disrespect Richie Kotzen in one review? For one, his playing speaks for itself and I think if you spend more than a nano second listening to it you would see that he is a remarkable guitar player and vocalist (and not "strained" as the reviewer commented). The only critique I see made of Richie is that he played with the band Poison. I think he can put the scarlet letter away now. The best jazz and jazz fusion music made is when the musicians involved explore the sonic landscape. Part of that exploration is utilizing the talents of the people involved. A "widely eclectic" group of musicians is bound to make eclectic music. That is the point, isn't it? Seeing as how Return To Forever has been done it would have been pointless to walk that road again. Vertu is a different road and one well worth walking down. As long as you can check your expectations at the door. There are no disappointments in this music. With musicians of this caliber the least you would get out of it is to be taken to school. If you listen to jazz/ fusion in order to be a snob then by all means turn your noses up at Richie Kotzen and scoff at how Vertu isn't RTF. If you love music and are open to new experiences then open your mind and ears and enjoy!

2. Lenny White brings it AGAIN! - For a young man ( yrs old), this music BLOWS ME AWAY. I fell in love with Lenny White courtesy of his 'Adventures of Astral Pirates' album--found it a few years back during a random jam session with our old bass player's father...regardless, this music is SICK! Jazz fusion seems to be another way of saying 'progressive rock played by black dudes.' I absolutely LOVE what they've done--and if you dig this, get Astral Pirates as well as some of White's work with Twennynine...and you can never go wrong with Miles Davis' Bs Brew. Prog-rockers will LOVE this stuff!

1. The perfect album for anyone from anywhere. - I couldn't be more proud of BelO with "Natif Natal". As a musician, whenever anybody would ask me for music from Haiti, I would hand them a BelO album by default...Natif natal is musically soooo rich. From addictive melodies to impeccable structures and instrumentation. The lyrics are off the chain. And guess what? You don't even have to be Haitian. If you love good music, this is for you.

2. Great! Best BelO album since Lakou Trankil! - Natif Natal has the potential to become another Haitian classic. From raga to roots to twoubadou, it brings together so many Haitian and world influences while making them mesh seamlessly together. Some songs are languid and perfect for a lazy Sunday while others make you want to tap your feet.

3. A phenomenal musical gift from a gifted artist! - Bélo's work of art has always been an emotional roller coaster for me. In this album, he manages to make me smile, to give me courage, to raise my consciousness, and I must not be afraid to say that the message from songs like Vann dlo and pa lage are so powerful that they brought tears to my eyes. This album is beautiful in many ways, and I highly encourage it. Natif Natal is a beautiful cultural experience that will bring you closer to yourself and closer to our beloved Haiti.

4. Another Level - For his th studio-album, BelO never ceases to amaze me. Natif Natal is a true musical masterpiece that brings BelO’s inexhaustible source of inspiration to another level. The album sounds great and abounds with a variety of musical fusion and deep lyrics that actually deserve a nomination at the Grammys in the World Music category. Period! Thumbs up!

5. Thumbs up!!!!!! - Belo certainly knows how to take you on a voyage through music even until the bitter end. Melodies are strong and tuneful. Belo has an attractive vocal tone, and puts real feeling into the lyrics. The lyrics are interesting and meaningful with some punchy phrases. Long story short PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BUY this album PLAY this album!

1. From MainlyPiano - Andreas Vollenweider's "Slow Flow & Dancer" is an inspiring and genre-defying collection of eleven pieces composed and recorded between and . Harpist and composer Vollenweider and his talented group of "friends" collaborated with British producer Andy Wright to present us with the second and third installments of the series that began with "Quiet Places" (). The first six tracks are the "Slow Flow" half of the album and the music is "relaxing, like a leisurely walk in the park." "Dancer" reflects Vollenweider's connection with Africa and features South African vocal harmony band Africapella and singer Ayanda Nhlangothi. This connection began in the early s when the black communities of South Africa adopted Vollenweider's music as their own folk music. In the struggle to end apartheid, people sang his songs in the streets to express their strong desire for peaceful change. The five pieces from Dancer are "an invitation to move and physically experience the music." The music is a lively and upbeat expression of joy and is generally more rhythmic and passionate than the first half of the album. "Slow Flow" begins with "As We Sail On By," an upbeat yet soothing piece that includes the sound of water along with harp, piano, percussion, guitars and more. You can almost feel the motion of a boat gliding smoothly across the water and a sense of excitement in the air! "Deep Green Waltz" is an easy slow dance that is somewhat more orchestrated. Graceful and unhurried, this is the music of dreams! "Slow Flow" drops the tempo a bit and is mostly harp and percussion for the first half of the piece, adding more instruments for the second half - I love this one! "Forevernow" is gorgeous as well as poignant, melancholy and deeply expressive. Silky strings contrast beautifully with the more percussive harp, creating musical magic - my favorite track on the album! If you don't relax listening to "Find Me In My Dream," something is terribly wrong! More ambient than melodic, it soothes with its gentle rhythms, harp, strings and background vocalese. "Dancer" begins with "Woa Woa," an energetic song with harp, vocals, drums and percussion, piano, trumpet and more. Try to sit still while listening to this one! (On the other hand - don't! Go ahead and enjoy the spirit of the music!) "Scarabaeus" is a lively mix of African rhythms and chants with horns and harp - intoxicating! "The Golden Bird" is more visual and cinematic with harp, strings, flute and energetic percussion. The closing track,"Up & Out," is my other favorite on the album. It defies fitting into any specific genre with its dancing harp, strong percussion and rhythm, and various orchestral instruments. It's a joyous musical celebration that will have you coming back for more! Where's that repeat button? "Slow Flow & Dancer" is a delightful musical expedition for music lovers of all ages, cultures and backgrounds! Very highly recommended!

1. Pasero's Sensual, Passionate and Uplifting Masterpeice - Once in a half moon could you ever discover such great talent as Stevan Pasero, and just when you thought that his music could'nt get any better he astonishes you again. Close your eyes, listen with your soul, and let the sensual, passionate and uplifting sounds wash over you. What you will encounter is phenomenal guitar playing, haunting melodies, creative percussion and beautiful, effortless arrangements. One can only summarize Pasero's technique as expressive, universal and timeless. From the very first notes of "Rhumba Dee" you'll be tapping your toes, and snapping your fingers. Stevan then takes you on a journey from the flamenco falsettas of "Soleares Enrique" and Malaguena My Love", the sexy cool passion of "Sway With Me" to the reinvented masterpieces of "My WIld Gypsy" and "Prayer" and then closing with "Gardens of Ravello" (close your eyes, and you will find yourself there). Twelve Shades Of Night features the incomparable Sascha Jacobson on upright bass, the passionate and mischievous Felix de Lola on cajon / palmas, Colin Douglas on drums / percussion, and the strings of the Musical Art Quintet, just an amazing musical collaboration from some of the finest playes in the Latin Flamenco Jazz fusion genre.

2. Another Great album from Stevan Pasero! - Stevan Pasero's last album Jambossa was a jazzy, romantic wonder driven primarily by Stevan's phenomenal guitar playing. On Twelve Shades of Night the guitar-playing is similarly superb. The mood is similar, if perhaps a bit darker, a bit more mysterious, a bit more evocative, a lot more Spanish-inflected. A fantastic listening experience. I really enjoy the spirited Soleares Enrique, the gentle lilt of Sway With Me, the uplifting Prayer, and the cello-accented El Viejito. Also, the bouncy Motivato and My Wild Gypsy (redux), where Pasero just wows with the precision and passion of the playing. If you're not yet a fan of Stevan Pasero's recent work, you need to change that. Get this album!

3. Another fantastic recording from Pasero! - Pasero's compositions are timeless, intricately beautiful and passionately played. Twelve Shades of Night will take you on a journey from Spain to Brazil as effortlessly as in a dream. A wonderfully enchanting recording however you listen to it, I recommend also trying headphones for a mesmerizing experience. When my wife and I have guests over, we often play Stevan's music. I'm invariably asked who the artist is. For twenty years, I've had the same answer. I look forward to more great music from Pasero.

4. WOW! BEST EVER FROM OUR FAVORITE GUITARIST! - We've been anticipating this album ever since we heard about it earlier this year. It's more than we thought. The songs are beautiful, motivating and melodic - very well written - like you've heard them before. The rhythym section is hot - Latin meets flamenco meets Brazilian meets jazz.

1. Complete Works - We - This is not the 'complete' works of Pixinguinha, unless this represts the only recordings of his still in existance. It is a decent set of recordings, and will give anyone a well rounded exposure to his huge volume of work. I put it at stars because it's got a lot of music for the money, and it spans a lot of his career. Includes many of his classics. but where is Lamentos, for example? Or Rosa? It appears that Jacob do Bandolim is on some of the later works, like Treme-Treme but I could be wrong.
