1. A whole other level - JG is on a whole other level, not just in “Christian music,” but in music period. There’s a depth, creativity, execution, etc. etc. that’s just a realm beyond. I love lots of music, but JG is in some other place. Was worried about the follow up to “Love and War…”, which I count as the album of the decade, but Home is very nearly as good. It’s different, but somehow the same. Heaven’s Knife may be his very best song ever; right up there with Ulysses. I could go on. A final thing: the topper is that JG is a super cool, super humble person, which makes his already amazing music better still.

2. My wedding song! - I walked down the aisle to Heaven's Knife on June th. I was introduced to Josh's music through a friend of mine who was singing at my wedding. Come to find out I know someone that was good friends with Josh's wife in college.... Small world. This album is so good. The instruments used and his voice are phenomenal. This is one of my favorite albums ever produced. If you don't buy this album you are making a mistake!!!

3. Strings can't be plucked without a Hand. - This album is absolutely beautiful. Along with every other song this man has made. After reading many many reviews of this album and how it's completely and wonderfully different from anything anyone has every heard, Josh is so unique with his words and sounds that he combines so brilliantly only by the power of the Lord who Josh seems so surrendering to let lead his journey. When we try to produce music on our own, it doesn't come forth the way we want it to; reasons that I've personally encountered were for self adoration or glorification that I am not worthy of. But when we let the Almighty God, who is worthy, take control of our words He speaks through us and gives us humans reason to be flabbergastingly astounded; opening our ears to unique sounds that you don't hear when you turn on the radio. Exactly like what the Lord is doing through Josh. And for His good reason too. I believe those surrendering their work, giving their gifts and blessings back to the Lord are not the true Authors of the things they are praised for doing. For example, Josh entrusts his work into the Lords hands and the Lord takes it and forms it into a beautiful, creative and admirably unique new song. So in the end of all of this, awesome job on the album, brother! But better yet, awesome job trusting in Christ. You've encouraged me to entrust the work I've been blessed with by the Lord in His hands as well. May glory be given to Him for all His bride ever does! I'll see you at the table, brother!

4. MoTown Folk, Phil Collins, Pink Floyd inspiration - MoTown Folk, who would've guessed!? It fits perfectly with his voice and style. This guy certainly knows how to up his game and isn't afraid to take a chance. When most artists go from one genre to another it's usually to POP/Rock and they become boring to listen to. Josh just reinvents himself but keeps his thoughtful lyrics and great arrangements. However, he doesn't throw it all out, he adds another style to a new album while allowing some of the old style in new songs as well. I love this album. Upon further listening there are a ton of styles in here. I've heard spacey Pink Floyd guitar inspiration, Phil Collins inspiration, electronica, R&B, folk, MoTown, and more. What an album. [Update] After full listens through spaced by a week a piece I can say I love this album more with every listen. It's truly fantastic. [Update ] Yep, this album is utterly amazing. His lyrics are rock solid. Heaven's Knife may be one of the few positive songs about a husband and wife. It's tiring to hear songs about spouses and significant others being torn down when your own relationship is so much better. This song is a breath of fresh air and it touches me the most of any song on the album.

5. About as good as it gets ya'll - A part of me wanted to hold out listening to home - because Love & War was so good, I was cynically expecting that Home couldn't possibly be as good. I was sorely mistaken and grateful for it. Listening to Home is as uplifting and edifying as anything I'd hope to put between my ears this side of heaven.

6. Good Medicine - I have been plagued with long seasons of deep depression and confusion ever since I was very young. Music is one of the tools I use to help me keep moving forward and Josh is at the top of my list. His music seems to touch the pain while reminding me of the beauty at the same time. This new work is incredible. Thank you for sharing your gift.

7. So rich! - This album is so rich both musically and lyrically. I immediately fell in love with Born Again, Leviathan, A Long Way, At the Table, and Morning Light. Josh's style continues to mature, incorporating new musical elements and tightening up vocals. The lyrics are deep and beautiful. Really...it is so good. Check it out!

8. Will stand the test of time - This album is yet another reason why Josh Garrels is a true inspiration to so many, Soulful and thoughtful lyrics. arrangements that have both depth and space,
He is a timeless artist and a timely Tunesmith,
It stands on it's own if you have not heard he other work. compliments the other albums nicely,

9. Enjoy - I downloaded one of his albums for free many years ago, but didn't listen to it at first because, really, how good could a free album be? Then I gave it a chance... and found my current favorite musician and artist. Excellent vocal ability and lyrical talent, engaging and unique compositions, soulful and powerful melodies. Home is worth every penny and more, and if you haven't, go back and get his older stuff too.

10. Josh just gets better and better - I've never written an iTunes store review, or felt compelled to support an artist with a review before. I absolutely had to put my support out there for Josh and his newest masterpiece, 'Home'. As other reviews have mentioned, with the success of his most unique and soulful previous albums, I did not anticipate 'Home' to floor me as it has done repeatedly so far. Incredible artist, with the most selfless and generous approach to this often money-hungry music industry. Josh gives this as a gift to all of us either free on Noisetrade, or for purchase here. Please buy this album and support music that speaks both truth and love. Thank you, Josh!

11. So good on so many levels - This is certainly not background music, but at the same time, it’s incredible in the background.
These aren’t songs that requires you digest the lyrics to love; the music itself is just wonderful. But then the lyrics are heartfelt, evocative, fascinating, thought-provoking, and ultimately uplifting.
Awesome in your car, on your headphones, or on a scritchy little bluetooth speaker.
It’s music of faith and family… and surprisingly good bedroom music, too. Ok, I’ll quit while I’m behind.
Get this. Buy this. It’s good.

12. rich, full, and satisfying. - This was josh's first album since I had started listening to him in . I must say, I had never been more excited for new music in my life, and Home was well worth the wait. Josh Garrels does not dissappoint. each song is such a masterpiece in itself, and yet the album works together to create a beautiful story. the amount of layers, the backround vocals, the lyrics, it all keeps one so captivated throught the entire album. To give such a work away for free is radical, and I know God will bless him for it. I truly believe this album was co-written with the Holy Spirit, and I will come back to it whenever I need to be refreshed and reminded that some still do put care into the music they write

13. A Musical Thrill - Josh Garrels has done it again, another beautiful album! This one has a few songs reminiscent of his previous album, which are addicting and hauntingly beautiful as is his style. Other songs are a surprise, a twist, a little jazz. All these songs have a common theme, coming home to God, feeling welcomed at His table, resting your head and feeling the worries roll off and away. Lovely lyrics, lovely sentiment, a truly honest album.
2015-04-13
14. Mind Blowing! - I have been a avid follower of Josh Garrels music since and he has only become more and more talented with every song he writes! This man is life changing and absolutely dripping with talent! He has a drive for music that very few have. LOVE this album!! Does a great job again!! Keep it up!

15. Nailed it, bro. - Loved his music for years since learning of him on Noisetrade. You can’t even label it “Christian” music.. it’s more like music that tells a story of how great our God is and the gifts He gives, and the joy of being known by Him. But Josh.. I don’t know if you read these, but please, if you will, make more songs like “Born Again” “Always Be” and especially “Colors”.. they are on a whole other level.. I personally gravitate towards RnB, soulful sounds and you killed it. It is so awesome to be able to praise God with a soulful sound, since most songs in that genre are about intimate relations, lol. It gets kinda old, so THANK YOU, BRO. And the fact that you are from my hometown of PDX is even better. :) Also, I ADORE “Heaven’s Knife”…means so much to my husband and I. Keep it up! Its with joy that I buy this album…

16. Living Up - It's fair to say that my expectations for this new album from Josh Garrels were through the roof, and while there are aspects of his musicianship and genre-blending that I miss among these songs, I am growing more and more in love with this collection each time I listen. By continuing to produce his music independently, Josh has been able to maintain the "edge" that many artists lose as they polish their sound. At the same time, this new album is in no way lacking when it comes to precision, craft, and consistency of sound. I'm left wishing for two things: that Josh will continue to bless us with music like this for years to come and that I had the necessary vocal range to sing along!

17. Jay-Gee - Incredible album. Not only are all the songs individually amazing, but they fit together as a cohesive that sings of ‘home.’ It is so beautiful. Jay-Gee (trying to get this name to stick) is a song-writing master. And an inspiration for the indie music community at large. I wish he would have rapped on this record though. That is why I actually give it a ./ instead of the /. But you know. I rounded up.

1. Three Cheers for the Grapevine! (And Josh Ritter) - This is a fantastic effort by Josh Ritter - probably one of the better albums of the year. For me, The Animal Years remains Ritter's opus, but this collection of songs stays with you listen after listen. It's quite an accomplishment. Even the throw-away songs have some of those lines that get heavier with each listen. What happened to the river bed? "Getting Ready to Get Down" is a true gem - one of the most joyous songs of dissent and defiance I have ever heard. Congratulations to Mr. Ritter, one of the more honest and humble song writers of his generation.

2. Ragamuffin Man - Where to start? Met Josh in MD for lunch and his jacket is well worn along with the right tongue of his shoe flopping as he took stage. Down to earth. Real. Raw. Rowdy. His music is reminiscent of the great story tellers like Dylan, Chapin, Cash, The Boss, et al. If you can see hhis show, you will go see them all.
2015-10-28
3. Simply amazing - Josh Ritter is our Springsteen. I don't know how it's possible for someone to consistently write music this great, but I am thankful. It hits especially hard when I drive back to my hometown in the rural Midwest and blast this album. "Homecoming" may be my favorite JR song to date, and this album is littered with tracks at that level. If you are a fan of "small town Americana" tunes (my homemade genre) - get this album now. You will be absolutely shocked and floored with how it speaks to you.

1. I'm obsessed! - Sawyer, you are my favorite artist! I love your earliest songs and love your sweet younger voice, but man I sure would love to have these songs in your changed, deeper, present voice! Consider updating them? I hope that as you become more famous that you will keep your innocence and down-to-earthness! I just want more of your music! Anxiously waiting for a full album! Wishing you luck in your career!

2. A must for Sawyer fans - Most of these songs were written when Sawyer was only and recorded when he was . Yet the mature themes of fear, love, loss, loneliness and resignation make this anything but a kiddie album. I've never heard anything like this. Even with a sweet little boy voice (complete with falsetto) Sawyer was able to convey complex emotions. My favorites are: Not My Girl because of it's structure, age appropriate story and fine guitar work; Because of You has a haunting quality and interesting melody; It's You is a hilarious break-up song... don't know if Sawyer intended it to be a parody, turning the "It's not you, it's me" break-up line to "It's not me, it's you," but if so, I'm even more amazed. If you're interested in early Sawyer you should check out the home videos on the Sawyer Fredericks youtube channel. You will see some of these songs as they were being created, modified and honed. You will see Sawyer overcome stage fright and shyness, be ignored by audiences, and be surprised when audiences begin to cheer him. You will get an idea of the many hours this kid put into developing his innate ability, which for him is not so much work as a state of being.
While you're on youtube, check out Sawyer's powerful post-Voice originals, Silent World and Early in the Morning. He's working toward a new album release of originals by the end of the year. I think we're in for a treat.

3. The voice comparison - I love sawyer, don't get me wrong, but does anyone else agree that this music doesn't sound like his voice? If you listen to the sample of any of his songs from the voice, his sound is deeper and more manly. When I first listened to the samples here, I was sort of disappointed to hear such a different voice. I hope his music in the future uses better equipment or something because I know his voice is amazing and this studio isn't doing him justice!

4. Smart, Deep and Unique - Sawyer at this tender age is a revelation (he wrote these songs at - years old). One would be left wondering how he could've possibly come up with such lyrics with his limited world experience then. On the other hand, with the way he pieced up each song - rhythm, phrasing, melody- shows the makings of a remarkable songwriter. His chords at this stage are simple, but the way he sewed them up together and mixed with his few-yet-deep words leave me in awe of how smart he is. I also must admit and agree with another comment here that his current sound in the Voice was beyond me. I would love and beg for him to remake his "Out My Window" album in his current voice with more instruments. The songs here are fantastic.
2015-06-01
5. How? - How can someone be so talented at such a young age? There is a huge well of talent that is hidden in Sawyer and it's been showing itself more and more as he has been using it. I love his voice. I love his voice so much. And it's not just that, it's the way he relates to lyrics and can tell a story with the song. He makes me want to actually meet an artist I've never wanted to meet an artist before but hey. This is the kind of music that I would want sang to me. Honestly, Sawyer you are thee best.
2015-05-29
6. Chills - I literally get chills watching him sing. I simply get this sensation of all the old greats singing through him. Like a John lennon/Janice Joplin reincarnate. The new Neil Young (although Neil Young is very much still with us). I wonder if anyone who saw and heard him at those farmer markets really understood the gift they were experiencing.
2015-05-19
7. Sawyer - Sawyer, you are unique, one of a kind and like Christina said in The Voice, you are a gem... Your voice us out if this world, your music is like a magnet seeking north; don't ever loose your authentic quality about your personality and given talent. You are The most unusual Voice. Follow your compass!
2015-05-19
8. Amazing... Buy this now! - It's beyond unreal that Sawyer composed and recorded all of these songs at such a young age, I believe he was around when he wrote most of them. I have listened to this entire album multiple times and I don't ever get tired of the songs. The lyrics will pull you into a very emotional world, and his younger voice was so different on this album, almost sweeter and softer and it really fits well with the overall dynamic of the album. I will continue to purchase his music in the future and watch as his voice evolves over time, as I'm sure it will still be as hauntingly beautiful as what we hear on his debut album "Out My Window". I encourage everyone who is a fan of Sawyer to purchase this and support one of the best and youngest singer/songwriters on the airwaves today.

9. Original, raw, awesome, Great and so cool - He is the new artist that is his own musician with so much talent. He has his own original style that isn't trying to copy someone else. He is fresh with a great powerful voice that is so easy on the ears yet pulls so stongly on your heart with the sound of peaceful, calm and natural calling. He has such a unique understanding of how to draw you to him without trying. He just sings! How amazing he is and I just love his voice. He reminds me of my yr old son Asher.
2015-05-12
10. An Old Soul In a Kid’s Body - Sawyer’s music transcends genres and generations. There is something about his work that resonates inside my soul. While I prefer the richness of his maturing voice, I decided to purchase this album if only to say to a young talent, “Go for it, kid.” I’ve been purchasing his music from The Voice in anticipation he will release future work.
2015-05-05
11. This kid's got something. - This album inspired me a lot. It feels complete and original. I instantly loved every song. Amazing future lies ahead for this artist. If he is that good in , imagine his potential now and when he gets more life experience. Sawyer is so young, but manages to remain timeless. /, ya'll.
2015-04-21
12. Unreal talent - To think he did this years ago... What the heck is wrong with the music industry that he's only now breaking out on the voice now? I logged in to by his version of iris (which I like better than the original) and saw this album. I decided to buy it more as a curiosity and I couldn't stop listening until I'd gone through the entire thing! That's rare these days when an album flows together so well. This kid is a truly great talent. I am looking forward to getting his next (and all future) albums. Hey Sawyer! Red Rocks would be a perfect venue for you! Come on out to Colorado I'll be first in line to buy a ticket!
2015-04-21
13. Great album - If not for The Voice this album would have not been discovered by many. Thank God he joined the show because it is a great exposure for hidden talents like Sawyer. His masterful and endearing vocals would pit him to the likes of Ray Lamontage or Jim Morrison. This album though you can tell was recorded before his puberty years, but you can definitely expect more great singing now that he is sixteen and growing up to new dimensions. Great raw talent there !!

14. Sawyer Fredericks - Listening to Sawyer as a younger man reminds me of my Gramma listening to her sweet old-timey music and at the same time i think about my brothers and cousins singing and performing for all of our family. Just gives me the best feelings and he has such a wonderful heart about music:). Out my window is such a fine album!!! I am enjoying it way too much! I am a forever fan and can't wait to keep up with all of Sawyers deserved success...
As a mom I so appreciate his Mom and everything she has done in support of her boy:) Thank you so much I hope you are blessed in all ways.
2015-04-19
15. Absolutely wonderful - I never kinew who sawyer Fredrick's was until the voice. Ever since he caught my ear this kid is great!!! Every song he sings is absolutely great his voice just penetrates every part of your soul. This album is so good a little younger now his voice is even better and stronger. He has to win and even if does not he is definitely going big time. Congrats sawyer .

16. Excitingly refreshing voice! - We heard Sawyer on the Voice and couldn't believe our ears. We DVRed the show and play it over and over just to hear him. His voice makes me want to rejoice, cry, shiver and listen, listen, listen. And his innocence and sincereity are so engaging. He is just what we need in music now. We wish you all the best in your career and life young man. You have it all covered.
2015-04-10
17. PURE BRILLIANCE - Ok. I am NOT exaggerating. Sawyer Fredericks is almost inhumanly brilliant! Have you listened to him on The Voice? I'm like "EEEEKKKK" his song "Trouble" is rank right now! I LOVE LOVE LOVE his music! It's very natural and calming Sawyer is super nice and REALLY hard to hate. My personal favorites from this album are "Not My Girl", "It's You" and "Short Temper" However, they are ALL incredible. I think Sawyer can win The Voice and change music industry. Sawyer all the way!
2015-04-08
18. Great but doesn't hold a candle to his performance on the VOICE - I don't know if it due his voice changing but more likely to better recording equipment but Sawyers sound on The VOICE is stunning. He is the best new artist of the decade. I cannot stop listening to his performances over and over and over. Please stay clean and innocent when u become rich and famous

1. Am in LOVE!!! - I just finished reading this book, and then had to immediately but the soundtrack after to listen to the music for it! I love absolutely everything about this album and made me fall in love with the book all over again. This soundtrack and the book are in perfect harmony! I am in love, and think Griffin is so perfect with this album!
2014-06-28
2. Perfection - Griffin Peterson is wildly talented. His voice, his music, everything. I cannot get enough of this album. I loved it before I read Colleen’s book, and now that I have, I love it even more. I can’t wait to see what success Griffin has in the future, because I know, without a doubt, that’s it’s inevitable.

3. I'm a little bit in love with this album ) - You know there are CDs that you purchase but only like a handful of songs from it. This CD, however, is worth the purchase. I LOVE ALL THE SONGS. I felt the emotions in the lyrics. Griffin has a beautiful voice. I got to see him and his band play live and am blown away by his voice. Some music artist only have a good recording voice. Not Griffin, he's the total package. Again, this CD is worth the purchase.

4. I'm in love with Griffin's voice! - I love this album! To tell you the truth I don't watch TV, so I didn't know Griffin was in America idol, but I do read and one of my favorite author is Colleen Hoover. I found out how amazing Griffin voice is because he collaborated with Colleen and her book "Maybe Someday" same tile as the album. Gotta tell you what smart move that was. I would stop reading and listen to the songs and I fell in love with them and purchased the album. If you ever read this, want let you know that you have a lovely voice, reminds me of John Mayor and Lifehouse.
2014-03-21
5. Maybe Someday - I have to say that by just listening to the small previews I loved it, but after I bought the album and listened it ALL the song I truly fell in loved with it, the song a really felt and expressed nicely hopefully Griffin gets his big break he deserves it. And I also hope it not his last cuz I would love to hear that voice all the time lol
2014-03-20
6. Wonderful! - This album is nothing short of wonderful! The songs are just amazing and I love love love Griffin's voice! My absolute favorite songs on this album are Maybe Someday, I'm in Trouble, Hold On to You, and Let It Begin. Pair this with Colleen Hoover's novel, Maybe Someday, and you've got one spectacular combination!!!
2014-03-19
7. Just Brilliant!! - As soon as I bought 'I'm in trouble' when it was released I knew I was in trouble myself-because I wanted to hear more from Griffin. He has really come into his own with this album. I'm so happy that he got to part of this awesome collaboration with Colleen Hoover for the novel "Maybe, Someday"! Since March th I have listen to all songs on repeat multiply times a day. And I have not gotten tired of any of them, each song flows nicely into the next one. The one that has really caught my attention is 'let it begin' such a beautiful song! Thank you Griffin, and I can't wait to hear more of your songs in the future! :)

8. Good album! - I have this album pre-ordered, listened to it, had only one fav then, living an lie. Then i spend all night reading the book, after I have this crave to listen to the album, now it makes more sense , I appreciate more the songs more than ever, Can imagine Ridge and Syd write the songs together. I am in love with the book as well as the songs. I appreciate Griffin more
2014-03-19
9. Love the richness in the lyrics as well as Griffin's voice. - Reading Maybe Someday, while listening an original soundtrack created by Griffin Peterson, takes reading an eBook to whole other level. The music is so perfect, it's so much a part of the story that you HAVE to listen to it. It's such a creative way to bring together two artistic outlets, allowing the readers and music lovers to blend their stories together. Music is such a powerful way to communicate, reaching into our bodies making us feel the words being said. Much like a writer has the ability to make us cry, music has the same ability and yet reaches us on a different level. The songs in this book are so much more than words, so much more than just a simple story. I honestly didn't know much about Griffin musically until I read the book and listen to his songs. His music, his voice add so much more to the story.
2014-03-18
10. Amazing songs, elevate the book! - And of course – the music! I am a person that is constantly listening to music. I live my life through lyrics because I honestly think that there is a song to describe any situation you are going through. Music is a healing therapy for me. That being said, this book above anything else is a total experience. You can read the book without listening to the songs, and you can listen to the lyrics without reading the book. However, when they are combined – it is pure magic! Griffin Peterson did such an amazing job putting the feelings of these characters into songs. The story of Ridge and Sydney takes lyrics (that I’ve been listening to since the soundtrack was released) and gives them meaning. On the other hand, the lyrics bring to life every single nuance, emotion, and action these characters go through. They intensify these moments and elevate them to a whole new level. It makes it feel as though these aren’t just characters in a book; they are old friends retelling their story to you. It honestly gave me goosebumps on more than one occasion! If you haven’t given Griffin Peterson a listen, you are definitely missing out!
2014-03-18
11. Can’t stop singing to it!! - Griffin is an amazing artist and this album will have you hooked at first listen. Not only is he not bad to look at, but his voice will make you wish he was there to sing to you. I wish I could say which song is my favorite, but they're all great songs. While Griffin did have some of these songs previously written, I recommend checking out the book “Maybe Someday” by Colleen Hoover and experience the book and music together. It will give you a great perspective on the meanings of the songs and make you swoon over this mans voice.
2014-03-18
12. THIS IS AMAZING! - Wow..all I can say is wow! This album is very original and it has such a good vibe to it. I could literally listen to it all day. I also love the fact that this album goes with the Maybe Someday book by Colleen Hoover. Together this is one amazing experience and I am now a huge, huge, huge Griffin Peterson fan. His voice is very soothing and again, he just puts off really good vibes with this album.
2014-03-15
13. I could hit replay forever! So addicted to this soundtrack! - Griffin is seriously talented. Like seriously. I imagine that if it ever rained talent, he probably soaked all of it up. Griffin is such a fantastic musician and singer. And the lyrics to his songs are just beautiful! I love love love that it goes so perfectly with the novel it accompanies. I suggest you give this one a listen! I have no doubt you'll be singing track and in the shower soon enough. This was a fabulous album, hands down.
2014-03-13
14. So soothing - I absolutely love Griffin's CD.. The melody & tone of his voice is so encompassing. So glad I don't have to settle for playing his singles on repeat all day, now I can repeat an entire album! I would definitely recommend this CD to fellow music lovers. And in this case, book lovers as well. Although, it merits it's own worth with the quality of his music; the book aspect is just a major bonus! Love!
2014-03-06
15. Addictive - This is by far the best album I've bought in awhile. The emotions Griffin pours into his music is absolutely beautiful. It pulls you right in. I've been dying for Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover to come out but after hearing this album, I'm DYING to read it! What a beautiful and talented man. I'm really looking forward to hearing more of Griffins work. This album deserves more than star!
2014-03-06
16. Pleasantly surprised - I bought this album because I am a Colleen Hoover fan. I wanted to experience her new novel as it is intended, with music to accompany the story. I had no idea who Griffin Peterson was, and wasn't expecting much from this album. It was my original intention to just listen to this as background music while reading the book, expecting to never listen to it again after I finish reading. So, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this album is. The lyrics are heartfelt and the music is very good. I like Griffin's voice; it's gritty and has that almost indifferent feel, like a Rihanna. It almost sounds as if he's gritting his teeth, grinding his emotions as he sings his verses. I really like it, and hope that this album breeds success that allows him to release a full length album that's all his own.

17. I am SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ALBUM - Griffin was originally a contestant on American Idol but was voted off Hollywood week. Colleen Hoover, a best selling Author started getting calls that Griffin reminded people of a character in one of her books called Hopeless. The Character’s name is Dean Holder. Colleen Contacted Griffin and he agreed to be the cover Model on the book Losing Hope. The two started a working relationship and now he is doing the music for her up coming novel Maybe Someday, Which this album is the soundtrack for. Griffin has other songs on I tunes and on his official website. He is Awesome

1. They will be big. - I said the same thing about Imagine Dragons years ago when nobody knew them and they would play at small venues in Provo, Utah. The National Parks is the same way I feel. Seen them at a few shows and they were far better than any bands that were also playing. They will be big. Love their music. Ghosts, The Meadow, Young, Hot Air Balloon and Wind & Anchor are must listens. Ride the wave!

2. they'll be big - Never heard of them until I was scrolling through singer/songwriter this morning. I bought Ghosts because it sounded like something I would like. Then the more I clicked on their other songs the more I liked them so I decided to just buy the whole album. Probably the next best $ I've spent since I bought The Lumineers album. I love music like this. Great album. Worth it.

3. Original Blunder of Thirst Quenching Music - This goes beyond what people's expectation of music really is. It's golden, it draws you in with the experiences and the imagination but not overdoing it in anyway. There is an energy that makes you want to remember the past and experience the future. It's like they unearthed the talent from the deep caves of Atlantis to find the perfect combination of violin, guitar, drums and not to mention the sweet vocals that draw you in every time.

4. Brought me to eternal happiness-- literally!!!!! - This album tickles the mind and pierces the heart. I was listening to this in a parking lot with the windows rolled down. A guy came up to me and asked what band it was. He loved the song and sat in my passenger seat to listen to the rest of the album. He asked me on a date, and less than a week later, we're planning on getting engaged soon! Thanks National Parks!

5. Uninterrupted Refreshment - The first time I heard this man and woman sing I sat right back down in my seat. I proceeded to listen to every song on the album; each song seeming to out due the one i just concluded listening to. This is one of those bands I'm happy to have discovered before they hit it big so I can be the one to say, "I found them first."

6. My Grandma Likes It - I think it says a lot that my -year-old grandma likes this band. Literally everyone should love this album. This band has poured a lot of time and talent into this CD and it shows. Listening to their music is like visiting a national park; it's obviously peaceful, but almost more importantly it makes me think about what is important in life, such as love, family, and the blessing of life.

7. Pure Musical Majesty - I've been waiting for this album ever since I discovered these amazing musicians about months ago. And it was well worth the wait. In Young, Brady Parks and his musical accomplices string together roughly minutes of foot-stomping rhythms, amazing lyrics, and emotional ballads, woven together with the soulful sounds of guitar, piano, and violin. If great-sounding music is your thing, then do yourself a favor and grab a copy of Young. You won't be disappointed.

1. They had me at... - ..."I Am A Fool", which was featured as a "Song of the Week" back when iTunes used to do that, my "gateway drug", so to speak, to the world of Landreth. These gifted musicians create stories and vibes simultaneously new, refreshing and engaging, and shooting straight-arrow to that sweet "home" spot in the ear and soul. Oh dear, I fear I'm going to let that last sentence stand. Don't hold it against the band. :)

2. Awesome find - I stumbled on to this album by accident and was hooked after hearing the first song. Smooth harmonies and memorable songs. Was playing it one day while cooking and my yr old daughter heard it and loved it too. All the songs are good, but my favs are, Our Love, Greenhouse, Let it Lie, Going to the Country, Check it out, you won't regret it

3. Excellent Album, Even Better Live! - I purchased Let It Lie the week it popped up on ITunes last year. Liked a lot of it immediately. Heard they were opening for EmmyLou Harris in Sandpoint, Idaho August th, so made the trek from Oregon.. They rocked the house. My guess is one out of ever heard of them. They got a standing ovation from a very appreciative crowd. Excellent performance. If you like a bluesy sound with great harmonies....this is the band for you.

4. Got lucky - I'd recorded a show on PBS, to my luck these guy were playin' reminds me and Others said tight playing beautiful slide work of early Southern Bands. Yes these guys are the real thing, hopefully a stop near Ann Arbor, hell I will drive to Grand Rapids or any lower Mi. Place to see them. Got to download this now.

5. Smooth as sanded wood! - I somehow stumbled upon these guys, and am glad I did. They sound great, and I’m really enjoying this album. It’s not very often that you come across a sound thats somehow raw and authentic, while at the same time having a touch of refinement, and being soulful and smooth.

6. Wow - What a find - I discovered this album by accident. I almost never buy complete albums. I usually just cherry pick a song or two. But this album, WOW, it is seriously brilliant. Without a doubt the best album I have heard in months - Beautifully crafted songs with original lyrics, terrific harmonies and superior musicianship.

7. Amazing album - I caught TBL at the Utah Hotel in San Francisco randomly one night and was completely drawn immediately. Blues and country with some splashes of John Mayer, the Eagles and some killer soaring harmonies...wow. Just a band I keep recommending to everyone. Fav songs are Tappin' On Glass and Greenhouse. Love this album and can't wait to see them live again.

8. Caught me off guard - I came across this band through work and have enjoyed listening to it very much. Some great guitar licks/riffs, tasteful progressions, and excellent vocal production. Thought I was going to hate it when I had to listen to it, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. Top notch vibe, production, and sonic quality.

9. An Upcoming Band One to Watch - I heard some of these songs live in Los Angeles, when they opened for Lee Ann Womack and their songwriting is catchy and heartfelt, vocal harmonies, years ahead of their age, and musicianship top notch. Buy this CD, and see them live if they come to your town. They won’t disappointment you, they sure impressed someone extremely difficult to impress.

1. a box of stars in his room - another magnificent achievement. I don't know what to say about why there is not more response on here. This album, like his other , is a st century masterpiece, setting a new bar for all other artists. He's a product of the small world we live in and breathes orchestreal music as easily as he does jazz, or neo soul, or Moroccan Gnawa, or English folk, or the Beatles, or a cappella. And the harmonies, jeez. And the meticulous production.... just check it out. If you don't hear what all the fuss is about, take one more try.

1. Ageless… - This album sounds like it could’ve been cut today, not . Whereas Parallel Dreams has a neat ’s charm to some of its sounds, this one has never aged a day. Cymbeline might confuse the average person with its Shakespearean lyrics, but it is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. The Old Ways is epic with sufficient buildup and climax, and although McKennitt’s version of Greensleeves is dedicated to Tom Waits (that bizarre madman, whom I love on Primus’s Tommy the Cat and Coattails of a Dead Man) it too is good. A new age/Celtic classic, as with most of her work.

2. My favorite artist - I am a huge music lover for many types of music. Loreena McKinnett’s music is my favorite of all. I have been a fan for almost years. I admire how she composes and creates her music and lyrics. Her singing talent is amazing. Her talents as a pianist, harpist and accordion player are astounding. She blends unique musical instruments in her musical creations resulting in musical works of art. Almost every day, I listen to many of her songs. They range from peaceful to meditative to jubilant, and most importantly carry a message of inclusion and harmony with nature and other cultures. Each album is a musical gift to our souls. Thank you Loreena and also Brian, Caroline and Hugh and all the other musicians for this incredible music.

1. Alternative folk?! Really?!! - This should be under world music, not alternative folk. That being said this is a mind blowing album, as with most of Loreena McKennitt’s music. The Mystic’s Dream is probably among the top ten favorite songs of mine, as it has both dark choirs AND bagpipes (ooh yeah!!) and it’s just a good song even without them. Prospero’s Speech is another great one, and even though it’s the shortest song here it is the most haunting by far. Santiago I feel is among the best instrumental tracks I’ve heard, and I could go on about the rest but that would ruin the album’s prestige by revealing too much. A prime example of CELTIC NEW AGE, not alternative folk…

1. Tossing Copper is a MUST buy! - This guy is for real. His lyrics are absolutely great and the music to go along with them makes this album close to perfect. For the sake of us getting new music from Tossing Copper soon, everyone buy this album and give this guy some publicity. I've been a HUGE music critic for a while now and this album is one of (if not the) best albums I've ever heard. Do yourself and this very talented guy a favor and buy this album!

1. Lovely, catchy, but a bit slow - I love this album, I truly do. The harmonies and musicianship is absolutely wonderful. All three women are fantastic. Sara Watkins (nickel creek), Aoife Donovan, and Sarah Jarosz all have lovely solo careers, and have incredible chemistry together. Game to lose is by far the stand out track. The others don’t even come close, in my opinion. See you around and ain’t that fine are excellent too. Some of the songs start to sound similar and don’t hold my attention. There is no a great deal of difference between the melody lines. I have listened to this album multiple times, game to lose MANY times, and I’m excited for the next one!

1. Fun Indie Music - These girls are amazing live, such good energy! But this album really does them some justice, it’s so well recorded it feels like a big name artist with a million dollar studio deal - but with the sweet soul and untouched heart of true musicians making the music they like to hear.

2. Love it! - My girlfriend and I saw these gals in San Diego in and were blown away! As we wait for them to come back, we have been listening to their albums on repeat. “What We Do” is just as amazing as their other albums. It’s clean and refined and beautifully quirky and still retains the wonderful, mysterious, eerie air that was born in “Window”. In a world were it seems as though everything has been said and every sound has been made, this band continues to produce stunningly original sounds. Thank you, Shook Twins, you inspire me. Know that?

1. Man Oh Man! - I have seen The Hunts perform live four times since discovering them in . Four times isnt enough, so I intend to see them whenever I can in the future. This album is a continuation of the great music they write, produce and perform. For me, the dedication they have to their music makes it even more enjoyable. They harmonize perfectly, and the number of instruments that each of them has mastered is very impressive. Watching them switch instruments and positions on stage is a show in itself. They seem to tour constantly, so look them up and find a tour date you can attend! Buy this album, I am confident you will love it!

1. Strong & Real - Every song has Jess’ heart and soul poured into it. I can listen to it repeatedly (and did for a long time) without getting tired of it. I sing the songs to my daughter when she cries. Her voice (singing and writing) is truly unique. My favorite songs: "Kiss You" and "Headed for the Hills” (about my home state of NC). Pick it up!

2. A soundtrack for being human - Jess Ray has done her finest work yet on this record. "Sentimental Creatures" fits in with the best of folk, but is unlike anything I've ever heard. From the opening line of the first track, you'll fall in love with her voice. Her impeccable writing speaks not only for her own life, but for a whole generation. You'll find your own story in these songs and sing them in your head for days to come. Here is a songwriter poised for incredible things to come. Jess Ray is one to watch, folks.

3. Honest and Real - By far my favorite of Jess Ray's works thus far. Her music is honest and real, allowing listeners to have songs that they not only can relate to but feel as if the words are coming from their own heart. Jess Ray is an up and coming artist that should be watched expectantly for even more incredible music in the future. Well done!

1. Quadruple-Threat!!!! - A year after catching these earworms on NPR, wearing out the grooves on both his full-length albums, reveling at the music videos, and finally basking in the glory of Bhiman's live performance, I'm still struggling for words to evoke the plangent sprezzatura (there's two!) of his uncanny musicianship. Equally adept as composer, lyricist, singer, and folk/blues guitar-slinger, his wry narratives of personal longing and political conscience rock instrumental chops and vocal prowess (from ringing baritone to keening falsetto) on tracks here of retro-soul (-ska?, -highlife?) as beguiling for hip-twisting hooks as for their deftly-layered arrangements. While a singular stylist, Bhiman's post-colonial buoyancy and gift for magical surrealism put me in mind of David Byrne's second act as world-music alchemist, only in reverse—as Bhiman's sapphire-dusted axe cuts a first/next-gen swath through the long blue tailings of America's musical coal mine. What's not hard to evoke is the thrilling prospect of tracing BB's soul-stirring arc wherever it bends in the years to come.

1. Amazing Writing. - There was one day in that i did not listen to "Calamine" by The Mulligan Brothers. The song kills me, I can not figuire out how it was written. It's like some Tarantino/Shakespheare acoustic mash up. The good kind. Every time I listen to it I'm afraid to move, afraid I'll miss something. They say great art creates an emotion, well this song makes me feel like I'm looking at a snake. How do they do that!? Amazing.

2. Mulligan Brother Take You Home Again... - We all have hopes that our favorite bands will continue to live up to their potential. Most of the time we are let down. The Mulligan Brothers proved our hearts right and took us back to the place they brought us to with their last album...home. Thank you and keep pushing guys!!!
2015-03-01
3. A must have!! - In a time when most music is manufactured to appeal to the popular markets and has sold its soul, The Mulligan Brothers bring hope that real music has not died, and is alive and well. The album is excellent from first song to the last. The lyrics of a great storyteller, and the musical talent to match. When Gram wails on the fiddle it makes my heart sing. I've listened to this album a hundred times, and I'm still hooked on it.

4. Great Sophmore Record! - For those familiar with TMB, this album has a darker tone than their debut release. Regardless, every facet of this album is honed to perfection. Starting with the songwriting, each track exudes craftsmanship and originality of the highest caliber. The production is flawless, transparent and truly revealing of the talent and effort put into the making of this record. Personally, I believe this album is a glowing evolution from the memorable debut. Stand-out tracks include "Calamine", "So Are You", "Wait For Me" and "The Road That Leads Me Home". Great music that proves there is more to the South than just obesity and "yall".

1. Best, freshest, most enjoyable sound in years! - If you're like me, you may not even realize that you love bluegrass music until you hear The Show Ponies. Yes, they're bluegrass-ish, but also hip, witty, catchy, fun and upbeat. They mix rock and folk and country to create something undeniably modern with roots that go back centuries. The musicians are world class and will treat you to some unforgettable guitar and fiddle riffs. I guarantee there is at least one song on this album which will have you clapping and smiling.

2. The BEST - Having had the privilege to have heard some of these songs live for the last year or so, having them now to take with us on tour and in our homes and wherever we go is just about the highlight of our month. This band oozes happiness. If you have never seen them live, you need to. It's not that "you should check them out", or "I think you would like it", or anything like that. Really. You need to. And then once you have, I dare you to walk away without a smile on your face. They are just that good, just that fun, and just that dang lovable.

3. Danced my pants off then cried like a girl - I almost had a heart attack dancing to the first tracks of this album. It was a good thing I got so sweaty so nobody could see my tears when I heard "Pieces of the Past" for the first time. Then I got to dancing like a fool again for a couple songs. My downstairs neighbor called the police for noise complaints. But when the police arrived, they asked what I was listening to and we enjoyed to the last three tracks together and talked about our childhood and pivotal life decisions over coffee and doughnuts. Then the police wrote my downstairs neighbor a citation for being a grumpy old hag but wrote her a thank you letter later because without her they never would have heard The Show Ponies.

1. Clever, great muscianship that is a lot of fun - The Accidentals is three really terrific musicians. Katie and Sav each have good voices on their own (Katie's may be more traditionally "pretty" but Sav's is infectious); together, though, their harmonies are killer. The songs are clever and catchy, feeling fresh and new. Their music lives somewhere in the midst of singer-songwriter, modern folk, and Indie rock. Their stage show is a huge amount of fun because the three of them are clearly having a blast performing, shifting between classic cello and rock licks. Enjoy!

1. Love them! - I love both the original songs and the traditional. Sometimes the original songs lean a little too close to Marcus Mumford for my taste. All the songs sound great, but the band is more than strong enough to stand on its own. I encourage them to diversify influences a bit and have confidence in their own collective sound. There's no one else like them. Once their voices and music put a bug in your ear you can't stop listening. While we're waiting for another album be sure to check out their covers and live versions on YouTube and social media. They'll blow you away.

1. Music, the way it is suppose to be. - I first heard AHI during a CBS Saturday Morning performance. I was reading a magazine, when I heard this voice. I stopped reading, I listened, and I have been listening every since. This is a remarkable album. The songs are soulful and articulate; not rushed or overproduced. The songs will stay with the listener long after the track has finished. I hope years from now, AHI will still be singing and releasing music. AHI makes music. He makes music the way it is suppose to be made. Have a listen, today.

1. Killer Indie Bluegrass/Americana! - IBTH is a self-produced album and every bit as good, if not better, than Della Mae’s Rounder record (This World Oft Can Be). Jamie Dear, Sweet Verona, Polk County, and Bowling Green are all “hits.” I personally listen for “B side” songs to gauge the real strength of a band. Della Mae’s got it! The strong B sides are From the Bottle, Aberdeen, My heart’s Own Love, and Blessed Hands. The remaining four songs (including the “title track” Aged Pine) are very good. I like them all. As an all-female band, I fear they run the risk of being seen as an all-girl gimmick. When in reality, the writing, singing, and musicianship is just plain top notch for being created by humans. No matter how many times I listen, this album does not disappoint. This band has a bright future. Buy it now. Support this band. It’ll be money well-spent!

1. Great Talent! - I stumbled across this young musician/singer/songwriter on YouTube. I'm so glad I'd. Reina has one of the purest and soul touching voices I've heard in over twenty years. I cannot fail to mention Toni, the young woman who does vocals and is lead guitar. This combination is explosive. The original songs are inspired and the covers they do captivate listeners.

2. A Treasure - I saw my first Reina song years and years ago when she made it to the front page of YouTube (back when that was still a thing) and I've been a fan ever since. Listening to this album, it's a culmination of how much she's grown and how crazy talented she is. It's an honor to listen to. You'll love it all.
