2. It was mediocre - I chose that word because I didn’t really get to read the book. I’m years old and have anger issues. I came across this book and went to get the book and realized that I need to request approval. I was upset of this because I feel that I would be embarrassed getting a book for toddlers. I’m not trying to put anyone down and I’m sure it was a wonderful book.

1. A story even a grandma could love. - This was a book chosen by my year old grandson and his group to read for their class reading assignment. He and I took turns reading chapters and finally I had to read ahead on my own because I couldn't wait to find out how it ends! A great story of self-discovery and healing, with lots of humor in-between.

2. MY FAVORITE BOOK- please read - Okay so first of all I want to say THANK YOU GORDON KORMAN! This is the best book I’ve ever read. I love the lesson that is taught here. It shows that ANYONE can change. I also really love how you can get a perspective of the different characters’ points of view. Not to mention the way the chapters are set up... . I never really was the one who loved to read books until I read this one. You have me sooo hooked on this book, that I really wish they made a movie on the book. If they did I would be the first one to watch it. ,, out of

3. I laughed, I cried, I felt all the feels - I read this as a parent of a Middle Schooler who has it assigned as summer reading. I wasn’t sure about the beginning and talk of bullying, but as soon as I hit Chapter , I changed my mind. This was a wonderful story and a great lesson for young adults. Note to author/publisher: there is a typo in the vacuum scene.

1. Well... - Some people can relate to Margaret, some can't. Let's just say most preteen girls DO think of what she and her friends do in the book, like growing up, boys, bodily changes. But not all of them simply OBSESS over it. Though I am close to Margaret's age, it was hard to relate to a character who thought she was a freak just because she didn't get her period at age . Not all girls obsess over or even want these things. Also, Margaret's search for God really WASN'T interesting or deep. It acted as if the only religions in the world are Judaism and Christianity, specifically Catholicism, and Margaret had to choose between those two. What I did like was when Laura finally made Margaret realize that being an "early bloomer" can be just as awkward and embarassing as being one of the girls to mature later. Margaret, overall, I found an unlikable protagonist because of the way she was nasty to Laura and obsessed over things to the point of ridiculousness, but I was glad that she realized some of her mistakes because many people, especially at that age, are not able to put things into perspective and realize that life isn't necessarily great for someone just because you are jealous of them.

2. This book is definitely a /! - This book would be perfect for a -th grader experiencing this, this can help them with problems they alone might be going through. I thought this book was just so relatable and good. Even if you already experienced this type of thing I still recommend. It’s just amazing overall.

4. I wish it was a series! - I ended up finishing this book to fast. I loved how Margaret had this amazing confidence in the book, it's incredible how confident she was with her actions but talking not so much. Judy Blume please please please if your read this can you maybe make this book into a series? I would love that and I bet a lot of young girls who read this book too would. I know it may be a little late but please!:D also Judy your one of my favorite authors so please write more books! Thanks a lot!!!!!!!:D

5. Are You There, God? It's me, Margaret. - Yet another great Judy Blume story that has to do with sex. One of the main ideas is about girls having their periods. It however does not contain any masturbating or anything like that. I'm sort of sad when I finish reading a Judy Blume book, that I almost forget entirely about what's going on! This is why I have given Judy Blume yet another star rating.

6. Every young girl should read this! - I absolutely loved this book when I was little! To this day, I can honestly say this is the only book that's touched my life. I few weeks after I read this book, my aunt told my mom I should read this book and my mom told her I had my aunt was very surprise I knew about the book and was more surprised my mom didn't know what the book was about. My mom then made me check the book out from the school again just so she could read it. When I have children... If I have children (or even a girl at that) I will definitely be getting this book for her.

7. Okay book - It was a cute story but not worth six dollars. I am just a year over Margaret myself, but I honestly can't relate to her in any way. I say if you want to read it, check it out at the library or the kindle library. Finished it in just three days. Apple should lower the price for such a short book.

8. Are You There God? It's Me Margerat - This book is a great coming of age novel about the complexities, hardships, and struggle teen and tween girls specifically go through while growing up. It explains that everyone is different and people aren't always what they seem. I think every girl should read this novel because it gets you ready for the life ahead.
2014-01-24
9. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret - Classic. It might not be the best for boys, but it can remind girls of their past, and tell them about their future. About menstruation and young love and Religion. Something that relates to everyone. So I recommend this book to anyone who knows ow to laugh, and enjoy a good old, classic, Judy Blume.

10. Blumer - This is the second Judy Blume book I ever read. The first one was Then Again Maybe I Won't which I physically have as a paperback. My mom had been telling me about this book for awhile but I could never find it so I decided to look for it here. I absolutely loved it. I wish I could have read it at because I experienced much of what Margaret did, though the religious part of it is happening now lol. I love Blume's ability to put you in the character's shoes.

11. Lolz - I remember my mom giving this to me a couple years ago saying "When I was your age, my mom made me read this book, and now it's my duty to make sure you do too" of course I was only about or then and I worshipped it! It was my first book that I read willingly on my own, i'll never forget the things it taught me and I'll be making sure my daughter reads it ;P

1. Love It! - I never read the book honestly, but I saw the movie and it made me cry. I always wondered why disney never made the nd part of bridge to therabithia because the movie is so good is amazing the way they even made it it's so sentimental and so beautiful, the people that banned this book maybe is haters because I never seen any kind of profanity or atheistm coming from this movie. I don't understand why people talk about that this movie promotes atheism, I really want to encourage Disney to make the nd part of this movie or the writer to write a second part of this book

2. Achingly Beautiful - This book is just stunning. I read it when I was pretty young, maybe seven or eight, as I was an avid reader. And I loved it. I truly appreciated the beauty of the novel even at that age, though it is a good book to read with a parent as well. It's hard to describe it, but...Jess Aarons meets Leslie Burke. She introduces him to a whole world of fantasy—inside their heads. Using only their imagination, they create a whole kingdom in the woods. Warning: This novel will make you cry. And yet, it is so beautiful.

4. Review of Bridge to Terabithia - by Chloe S. - This book was astonishing. In the way the themes, life lessons, morals, are all proposed, is beyond my words. It is almost impossible to describe the goosebumps and excitement and tears I got from this book. I don’t want to spoil anything, but if you ever consider reading this, might I say the author is amazing with their work and you will love this piece of literature.

5. A quick read but an amazing book! - Bridge to Terabithia is a great classic that I have never even heard of until my friend loaned it to me and told me to read it. I read it in one night and at the end it had me crying because Katherine Paterson makes it so you step into the character Jess and start to feel what he feels and when the tragic event happens you also feel sad. I have never read a book like this but you should now!Over all it deserves a great big

7. MAKE A SEQUEL!! - Anyone who reads Fish in a Tree will totally enjoy from any age. Ally is a girl who has dyslexia, which leads her into her learning differences. Soon Mrs. Hall leaves after her pregnancy; Charming Mr. Daniels enters, and helps Ally pick up and tell her how smart she is. She learns that dyslexia means she’s smart, and some of the smartest people had dyslexia. Please make a sequel, Lynda Mullally Hunt. Tons of us want you too! I enjoyed this book, five stars it gets!!

8. Fish in a Tree - Great minds do not think alike. Can this simple truth resonate in a world where kids are pushed to achieve a narrow definition of success at every level, culminating in a degree from a prestigious university and a high flying career in a well-paying field? From standardized tests to AP placements to resumes padded with the appropriate sport/music/volunteer activities—if this is our definition of success then what about those who cannot or choose not to walk this narrow path? Lynda Mullaly Hunt introduces us to Ally, a breathtakingly brilliant visual learner whose undiagnosed dyslexia convinces her, and those around her, that she is stupid. Fish in a Tree is certainly not the first children’s book with a dyslexic protaganist, yet when Hunt describes how, for Ally, letters move and shimmer on paper like rebellious toddlers refusing to sit still, I finally could imagine what a struggle reading and writing can be. Like the best authors of any genre, Hunt puts the reader into the head and heart of Ally until we feel her pain when she is labelled a “dunce” and her exhiliration when a brilliant teacher helps her see a future full of the possible. Even beyond Ally, the characters in Fish in a Tree break free of convention and force readers to consider them in all their individual, messy glory. There are few who will close this book having not been moved to tears at some point. I am grateful we live in a world which can celebrate students like Ally, Albert, Keisha, and Oliver and teachers like Mr. Daniels. For my part, having known these characters through the pages of Fish in a Tree, I will place a far higher value on the unconventional thinkers and their ability to change our world.

1. c’mon these are elementary kids— - when you think about it kids this age don’t even really know what sex is. they could just be uncomfortable with who they are at the moment but just not old enough to think about it. if they’re adults thinking about transitioning that’s their choice and what they believe. but when it’s actual Goddamn kids who haven’t even developed all the way that’s a totally different thing. idk you do you just leave kids out of it. lol btw you should write a book about a man who stunk at swimming, “became a woman”, and cheated actual women out of the olympics. that would be a funny thing to see. oh wait—

2. Great Book!! - Everybody needs to STOP hating on this book! I saw a review that was so cruel I nearly cried! We need more lgbtqia books like this! Plus it’s a beautiful book and it’s not encouraging “satan” as someone said! Respect your own children! We can be whoever we want to be. He, she, they, etc. We’re all equal and people need to stop banning and hating on this book. You’re a great author Alex Gino and don’t let the haters criticize your books!!

3. Another book that says to disregard reality - Like the title says. This book tries to say that little kids know what sex they are but at same time society says kids are too young to have sex since they dont know enough to consent. Kids will act the sex the parents treat them. They learn that its okay to be whatever from them. To disregard Reality. This will end badly because eventually they will grow up and have to deal with NOT being able to do what the other sex can do. However much you “feel” like a girl you wont be able to have a baby. How ever much you “feel” like a guy you wont be able to impregnant a woman. Those reproductive organs are what makes you a guy or girl. Not the names or what you feel like calling yourself. If you wanna dress in dresses then fine but dont say your female when you have male anatomy. Your style and personality do not a gender make.

4. An important book for our times - Heartbreaking to see and hear about transgender / LBGTQ kids living in the shadows in our communities out of fear. Let’s use this book to start the conversation about kindness and inclusion and accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ community. No kid deserves to be bullied or attacked or to feel depression and shame around their gender identity - something they can not control. Let’s lead with love and compassion and teach our kids to do the same

1. It’s an amazing story but... - I think this is a great book and it tells kids to not be afraid to show what they like. But when I was younger I was DEAD afraid of that book and it gave me nightmares and bad visions. I have heard a lot of other people saying the same thing. Maybe you could have made the book a little less disturbing and scary

1. Because of Mr. Turupt - This book touched my heart in so many ways and I’m positive it touched many others as well. This book has many heart warming stories from different characters that everyone can relate to. This book gave me hope that my problems will be solved and everything is going to be okay. I highly recommend this book if you have a soft, warm heart like me.

2. This is the best book I have ever read - I have read all three of these amazing books? They are my favorite books and the only ones that can give me wonderful chills.I read all three of the books twice because I never want to stop feeling the way I do with those sensational feelings while I read these books. I think Rob Buyea should write a book in Mr.Terupt's perspective, although he probably wouldn't have as much to say so, the book could be a bit thicker and span over all three of the wondrous years. THANK YOU SO MUCH ROB BUYEA! NEVER STOP WRITING THESE BOOKS!

3. Amazingly truthful - As someone who works in a school filled with students exactly like these characters, it's amazing to see how they all come together and love and support one another. I wish Mr. Terupt had a voice sometimes but I love that it's told from every child. It's powerful, emotional, and heartwarming characters really bring a true life feel to the book. I'm eager to open the second book. Definitely a great read for all ages.

4. Amazing!!!! - I was actually into the writing style when i first started to read it, I feel like I could connect with these characters so well us because I'm in fifth grade. I love that every character has there point of view and own personality shown throughout the story. If your looking for a short, dramatic, page turning book read because of mr.terupt.

5. Suspense - I have been reading this book at gifted and I have gotten too part two. It's awesome! But my teacher won't let me keep reading and I want to know what is happening. The suspension is growing! But I love how it has the story in order like all the kids have their part of the story. That's what u really like.

6. Terupt thinking - The class was thinking of dollar words luck couldn't think of one then Peter blurted out BUTTOCKS but that was wrong then Luke said no wait buttock is a dollar word and it was correct. Then Alexia had to get pulled int the lobby because she was being mean and Mr. Terupt started talking to her then she started to cry. The whole class went outside to play in the snow Peter got a snow ball put it in his pocket then turned into a ice ball then every pushed Peter in the snow he got mad threw the ice ball and hit Mr. Terupt In the head making him have a concussion.

1. I really liked it - Slacker by Gordon Korman is a very good book but I have read Better. I enjoyed reading mainly because it is very detailed and it felt like a movie in my head but I did not give this extraordinary book five stars because the characters could be more complex. Off course that is not the only reason I rated “Slacker” a four. That other fault was the inadequate use of ample vocabulary that usually forms a better “hook”. Still, four stars are still there for a reason! I quite enjoy how the story is narrated in first person, and not only do you get to se the mane character’s point of view but you experience the tale through friends, teachers , and even enemies of Cam! Well that is all I had to say !

1. Didn't want it to end:( - I found myself really listening to Tom, it's like I wasn't reading it, like he was talking to me. I cried when it ended. This book kind of fell through the cracks a little i think, and it's sad because everybody should read this book when they can. It gives you a new outlook on life. I have one complaint though, it ended!! I would recommend this book for ages -.

2. Small book, but big meaning - I thought that this book was kind of slow, and I knew it was a small book so nothing huge was going to happen. But, the parts that were about Jessica, I thought had big meaning put into. This book may not be totally interesting, but it definitely teaches you a life lesson.

But this is a good story

2. This book Rules (except for the ending) - I read this book with my nine-year-old twins. We enjoyed the writing and appreciated the honesty of Catherine, a character who has a good heart and shows what real life can be like both trying to fit in and living with an autistic brother. However, we were all very disappointed with the ending. While we appreciated the concept, we would’ve liked more description and closure.

1. Impeccable timing! - I’m getting ready to attend UNC at Chapel Hill after having be academically dismissed for UNCW and I ran across this book in a Walmart. I did not have money on me but I bought it as soon as I got home. I’ve heard that the sign of a great lecturer is someone who can explain complicated subjects in simple terms, and Dr. Seuss if the embodiment of that statement!

2. Best inspirational book ever - I used to and told this day read this book when I'm down, it may be a book for a child but it has adult relations when it comes to tough life situations and I think it's a great way to teach kids at an early age that any thing is possible but yet in the other hand there are going to struggles and challenges and very dark and depressing life situations that are going to come at you but you have to keep going because that's just life in general.

1. Absolutely Amazing - Words can not describe how funny, suspense filled and touching this book is. We read this for class and I sure wasn’t expecting this golden treasure. I can agree though with all the other commenters who said the book is not that interesting at the beginning but as each character sort of develops you start to spend hours and hours past your bed time reading this book. I will admit that I cried myself at the ending. I also enjoyed all of the historical references in the book as well as Freak and his dictionary (as I am a nerd in the subject English). Overall a fantastic book that I can’t recommend enough./

2. Sad and thrilling, everything you want from a book! - Freak the Mighty was a book read to me in class for a read aloud. It focuses on Max and Freak, two best friends who embark on unforgettable adventures. There wasn’t much that I expected from the book, and I hardly knew anything about it. Freak the Mighty has way more emotional value than most books I’ve ever read. I caught myself and the rest of my class with tears in our eyes, and our cheeks redder than ever. Act drags. It does, for a few pages. After you met the main characters things will pick up the pace, which is how it is with nearly every book. Act was just nonstop suspense. I found my self at the edge of my seat at every moment. Act is, well, I don’t want to ruin it because it’s one heck of an ending. There you go. Check out this book now, there’s even a movie I’m planning on watching! This weekend, I plan to get the sequel Max the Mighty, can’t wait!! /

3. One of the best - This was really one of the best books I have ever read! With thrills every time I read. I read this as a middle school summer assignment. But let me just say that I would read this for my own pleasure. The ending was so sad, though. I could relate to Freak. The author made me feel like every single moment in the story, I was a there either in Max's point of view or Freak's. Honestly I am a th grader at the time of this, and I have fallen in love with this. I may even read the sequel. This is an amazing book. I would rate this stars if there was an option!

1. Wonderful - What funny, clever, charming, and sweet tales of an odd-couple friendship! I adore the read aloud feature, the voice actor who reads these gives Frog and Toad individual personalities that are exactly true to the text. My year old and i loved them so much that we came back to itunes and bought every single Frog and Toad book after reading/hearing the first one. I wish there were a dozen more.

4. Won’t download the whole story. - I bought this to read with students online with my students for distance learning , but it only downloaded pages. It says it’s pages. Each chapter in mine is only - pages. Might be user error, but I’ve done everything I can think of, but can’t get the whole book.

5. Kate DiCamillo - Kate DiCamillo is an AMAZING author. Her stories are heartfelt and touching. The characters are so human, in their emotions and the way they deal with their lives. And it's not as if her stories are unheard of, in fact so many people live the difficult lives of her characters, just many people don't realize it.

6. Not Kate DiCamillo’s best qoek - This book is cute but the characters are sort of flat and the story didn’t really engage my kids at all. They loved Desperaux beyond reason and Edward Tulanw had them all in tears (in a good way) at the end. This one just fell sort of flat and they kept asking me to read other books which is a bummer.

7. So good - This book is the best book I have ever read. I love the theme and the way the characters describe the other characters and I absolutely love the entire book from the being to middle to end. I would recommend this book to anyone. This book is so good and it can make you happy and sad at the same time unlike most books. I love this book

1. It is AMAZING!!!! - It all starts in Raymie’s baton-twirling instructor, Ida Nee’s backyard. She’s taking baton twirling lessons to win the Little Miss Central Florida Tire competition. She’s competing with a girl, Beverly, a girl who plans to destroy the contest, and Louisiana, a girl who is experienced with showcase. They were all invisible to each other, but later, they went through so much together, that they become best friends. They never left each other when needed, and always had and adventurous moment together. It’s going to be hard for Raymie to compete against her friends. But she only competed to get her dad back who ran away from home with his dental hygienist. And that reason was the type of reason Louisiana had, to join the contest. Beverly on the other hand, doesn’t care at all. But she cares about her friends. This book will break your heart by showing you these moments that the girls have experienced.
