1. Don't buy this one - FFIX is my favorite FF, but where's my Roses of May?This collections of "songs" should be classified as "soundbytes from the videogame" The soundtrack for $. is a better way to go: tracks, extended versions, lyrics for the songs with lyrics. Also people who say "it makes them sick" when dissatisfied customers saying this album wasn't what they expected should really check their word choice. For one thing, you're the one ranting, for another they have as much a right to express their opinion as your hateful vomiting. I--for one--was greatful for the heads up that this was not what I was looking for and went with the more expensive one.

2. Love this! - Being that I grew up watching my older brother play the Final Fantasy series, it goes without saying I enjoy the games and music. I would have to say Final Fantasy IX is definitely my favorite. I always enjoyed the music and it brings me back memorable childhood memories. If you are a huge fanatic of Final Fantasy IX I doubt you will be disappointed having the opportunity to purchase this album along with the original IX OST. People who are not so much a fan may be a bit more skeptical about this album. But for me it's out of !

3. It's okay...if you already have the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. - Really, this is just a supplement to the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. Almost all the tracks on here are from the FMVs in the game. Which, heck - they're not bad, but...they don't have a lot of substance to them, especially since most run just between seconds to a minute and a half. Really, if you are only interested in the new songs not found on the original soundtrack but are not from the FMVs, just get songs - . (personally, I bought the actual CD on ebay for my collection, but that's just me.) Still, they did a good job on the soundtrack. Kudos all the same.

4. Why rant about such a beautiful release? - So I'm reading down these reviews and right now it makes me sick! It takes a lot to put out all these songs from the copyrights and such. This is a great release, now every single type of song from the game is now in soundtrack form and this just makes it awesome. Sure they're a bit short but these are like the originals. It sounds great and they are fun to listen to. I wish more companies would release soundtracks like Nobuo tries to do. / AWESOME MUSIC!
2008-06-25
5. Completing the Collection - The tracks on this CD are lovely, despite their short length. Anyone who loves Final Fantasy (specifically IX) or Nobuo Uematsu would love this OST. However, it's not for everyone. I gave it four stars based off my own enjoyment. But, if you're looking for the major themes and music pieces from FFIX, buy the IX OST, not this. However, the CD is only $, a more than fair price for the rarity of the OST and the amount of tracks you receive.
2007-12-04
6. Supplemental Music - I would recommend this album to a music theory student who happens to collect Uematsu's works. Otherwise, unless you just go gaga for anything and everything Final Fantasy IX or FF-related, don't get this. I bought it thinking, "Okay, FFIX, best game ever. FFIX OST looks like a huge bargain, these remixes can't be found anywhere else, and I still get the whole soundtrack." Erp, nope. Let me set the record straight: YOU DO NO GET THE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK PLUS EXTRA TRACKS. These are ALL merely supplemental to the OST and it should be known that most of these tracks are seemingly incomplete cutscene songs that /actually/ last as long as they say. Also, the remixes are vaguely entertaining, but for the most part experimental. They get re.pet.it.ive. from the first listen. So don't make my mistake, because those other reviews didn't fully prepapre me for the purchase I thought I was making.

7. It's nice to complete the collection - Yes, the songs are short, and yes they are cues from the FMVs of the game, but I find each short song just as enjoyable as any of the OST. Releasing such a collection really shouldn't have been necessary, but with the extra mixes (Kuja's Millennium Version) (Melodies of Life, Silent Mix), and the rest of the music, I thought it was well worth paying $. for. If you love Uematsu's work, and you own IX's OST, your collection isn't complete without this.

8. Between Brilliant and Terrible...no joke...really...that's it...done. - When I first saw this, I thought to myself, " songs for only $.! It's too good to be true!". But then I listend to it and I realized why; all of these songs were just used for the scenes for the game, like entrances and such. Most of these songs don't even have a title, and "Melodies of Life" is unvocalized. The only reason I gave it a " stars" is because I am a big fan of Uematsu-sama. I just can't believe something like this came out; it's like sound-effects.

1. A good album to get - VGL still produce the great video game musics we recognize and love. Personally I bought this album without a thought when I saw that they did Metal Gear Solid - Snake Eater! Personally. I couldn't care less what else they have, they get my money just for FINALLY doing this one!

1. Jeremy Soule’s Best Work (IMO) - The month was November. The year was . I had just graduated from High School the Summer past. My friends were all asking me, “Mark, why haven’t you bought The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim yet?!” At that point in my gaming life, pretty much the only games that interested me were shooters and racers. I foolishly said “I don’t play RPG’s.” And then a friend of mine, who I still play Xbox with to this day told me “Mark, listen to me, you have to get this game, it’s one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played.” And so, I finally caved and went to GameStop to pick it up. I remember that night so vividly, from almost the exact moment I sat down, I was completely immersed into that almost transcendent world. The sights, the sounds, and you guessed it, THE MUSIC! I found myself just aimlessly walking around exploring the vast environment that was Tamriel, and I couldn’t believe how incredible it all was. I’ve since listened to some of Mr. Soule’s other work (Morrowind and Oblivion), but Skyrim still remains my favorite. Even after almost a decade later, I still can go back and play this wonderful creation and feel the same awe and bliss as I felt all those years before. I’m not sure when The Elder Scrolls VI will finally be released, but one thing is for sure, if Bethesda doesn’t bring back Jeremy Soule, it would be a HUGE mistake.

2. Great Soundtrack But Beware - I know this review will probably be buried by the ones from years ago praising this album, but I need to say this. The first three songs on the album are not available in the USA. I bought the album and was offered no warning for this. I am now unable to play these songs. Beware before you buy. The album is great but this is a glaring problem that feels illegal.

3. Not Just for ES Fans - I’d imagine most consumers of this album are familiar with its content from playing the game, but if anyone stumbles on this review that hasn’t ever played the game or heard its soundtrack but still appreciates atmospheric music, I URGE you to purchase this album. When excluding the combat selection, you’re left with some of the most mind blowing chords and progressions that is the Elder Scrolls V soundtrack. You’re hairs will stand straight up when succumbed to this album’s beauty.

4. The most beautiful compositions of their kind, ever. - I found myself finally drawn to buying and playing Skyrim after hearing the music. When my husband heard me playing, he would stop in the middle of the room and just listen. He asked, "What is that music? ... It's beautiful!" Even the big bombastic adventure themes are just lovely. Whatever you do, do not judge this whole work by the first track. Try "The CIty Gates", first. I remained overjoyed that this music exists. I listen to it, beginning to end, at least once a month.
2017-10-02
5. The Absolute Best Game Album EVER - The music from this game invokes a deep sense of tranquility and relaxation to the listener. The music to this game is literally what makes this game so amazing. I sleep listening to this. Workout to this. Of course play the game listening to the in game music. And I just can't get enough. Hans Zimmer lost the year Skyrim came out. To the artists and composers that made this happen... Believe me when I tell you that millions of nerds around the globe will pay SCHMONEY for another game with music THIS GOOD.

6. Skyrim belongs to the Nords! - With its combination of what is made to sound like people singing and an epic orchestra, Jeremy Soule has composed one of the greatest soundtracks in video game history. Listening to the music brings back memories of powering up your computer and turning on Skyrim and waiting for the song to end before you click start just because it makes you feel like a true adventure (until you take an arrow in the knee). Definitely worth the buy.

7. Favorite Music Ever! - It's definitely worth the $ buy! I listen to it almost every day; it's the perfect blend between epic ness, righteousness, and plain beautiful composer! But beware, this music will swing your mood to be sucked right into the world known as Skyrim in Bethesda's Elder Scrolls V. My definite, absolute favorite is "From Past to Present"!

1. This wonderfully put together! - I found out bout these albums thanks to my friend. It's fun and puts you into adventurous mood! And then for the price it's a great buy! Not just for gamers but people who enjoy that fast pace modern classical pop you could say music, this is a great choice! I am Impressed and Happy with it.

2. I love this - I was listening to an instrumental station on Pandora, when the theme song to Zelda started playing. Base on that alone, I had to get this album and I haven't been disappointed. It's got a rythem that energizes me, with no lyrics to distract me so it's my favorite album to work to. I never realized how amazing the music in some of these video games really is. But when you isolate the music - without any graphics, or bosses, or sound effects - it really is quite beautiful. I will certainly be buying more albums from London Philharmonic, especially if they do more video game music.

3. super mario bros theme: same old boston pops orchestration. - Why re-record the same boring Lawrence Welk-ish orchestration that is available on a dozen other compilations from various orchestras? zzzzzzz. The Angry Birds track showed a rare bit of inspiration, while most of the track choices will put any Pops Orchestra fan to sleep. Metal Gear Solid theme with a synth drum machine front row center in the mix? ZZZZZZZZZ. If Michael Jackson had this album he would have never OD'd on propofol.

4. Great tribute to some great music. - I'm a big fan of video game music and orchestral music, so this album is pure awesome for me. I love the interesting arrangements of all my favorite tunes, they're faithful to the original songs while making full use of the orchestra. Everything sounds great. The only problem and the reason I give it four stars instead of five is because of the inclusion of music from some more recent games. It's not that I don't like those games or their music, it's just that most of the more modern games already have orchestral music (for instance, the Halo piece sounds almost exactly like the version from the Halo soundtrack). There was really no point in putting them on the album and the space could have been taken up with orchestrations of older game music (like no Sonic the Hedgehog, what's up with that?). Also the album cover, really, military shooters only make up a small portion of the total number of video games. But, I'm dwelling to much on the negative, this album is great and essential for any video game fan.

5. An agreement - i can agree with wave dash on this. i was very skeptical about seeing all of the cod and battlefield music. i have personally never played halo or final fantasy due to a lack of xbox/ps's at my house, but as a rabid zelda and metroid fan, i can agree that this list need some music of games where the music is a core part of the game. what ocarina of time fan can forget the song of storms, or how can a metroid prime fan forget the theme from the volcano sector (can't remember what it was called)
but, amazing music for the agreeable songs on it, and i just love the pieces. the second is pretty good as well
(ps. i'm definately still alive
pps. im doing science, and im still alive)

6. Video Game Music is Amazing - This album is amazing. Beautiful orchestra renditions of some of the greatest vgm themes of all time.
My only complaint is that Angry Birds should NEVER be placed on the same list of Greatest Video Game Music as the legendary Koji Kondo's Mario and Zelda pieces. But I guess I'll let it slide because even the angry birds theme is pretty good.

7. Ummm...POTATOES? - To all those people who wanted their favorite song on the album, you are so busy mad about these petty things and not even acknowledging the beauty of the music... The London philharmonic worked so hard on these pieces of music when all you can think about is you're favorite song, which is one out of the hundreds of video game songs out there. Shame on you guys! :

1. Love the soundtrack but… - I bought some of the songs from multiple wow albums (because I can't get wow songs with Apple Music ) and for days I listened it. And the day after that it disappeared from my music library. When I went back to the store seeing I might need to download it again it said I already purchased it and there is no way to re-download it. But besides that I love the music. Fix that one issue I'm happy.

2. (To all wwc soundtracks)OO MY BA BBBOOOOOOMMM!!! - ok nothing at all is terrible about any world of war-craft soundtracks. Every song everything The tone ups and downs, the beats, the quire, the
Places it's used for,the tone pored,Etc EVERY
THING IS FLAWLESS everything is legendary,
Epic,awesome,just plain great

3. Absolutely Love it But... - As usual for WoW soundtracks, a few great pieces are left out of the soundtrack. What about the music from the Kraken? That deserves its own track, surely. And the Argent Tournament songs? I could just listen to that medley all day. Oh well, guess I'll just leave the game on in the background if I want to listen to some of the good ones. I have to say, I absolutely love the Howling Fjord track much more than in game, but I wish they could have added the strings from Utegard Instances. Please, please, please, Blizzard, take the example of the Vanilla WoW soundtrack and add even the shorter tracks!

4. Torim- Kargath, lvl prot/ret pally - and our cries shall resonate out to the frozen throne to the lich king himself! FOR THE ALLIANCE, AND FOR KHAZ MODAN! hehe first thing that came to mind hearing this album. brilliant piece of work, excellent orchestra. personally, i cannot stand orchestra style music, but this is a work of art. my favorites are Arthas, My Son; Path of Tears; and God Hunters
2010-11-22
5. A wonderful composition of musical arts. - This soundtrack is wonderful and in spite of the new soundtrack for the rd wow expansion, I believe this is and always will be the best. As a seasoned wow player myself i would buy this in a heartbeat. Even none wow players must aprreciate the music orchestrated in this soundtrack.
2010-06-29
6. Amazing! - I bought this soundtrack well over a year ago. Even after having stopped playing World of Warcraft, I still listen to the songs from the album frequently. If you like "epic" music, like stuff Hans Zimmer is known for, this is the RIGHT soundtrack to purchase. My favorites are the beginning of "Arthas, My Son"; the middle of "Mountains of Thunder"; and all of "Totems of Grizzlemaw."
2010-06-28
7. Great music. - God hunters has to be the best song I ever heard in a video game, ever. I don't buy music from movies or games, but when I started doing quests in the Zul'Drak area, it totally brought me the chills to my spine. The area is basically a gigantic aztec ruins zone. It reminds me a lot of Dead Can Dance. The rest of the album is good too but God Hunters is my favorite.

8. My most lessened to Album - The WOW WotLK is by far my most lessened to Album I own (with perhaps the exception of WOW and WOWBC). I bought the music about a year before I began playing the game. At the time I had no itunes account so I bought it through the Collectors edition ($ ). Though I don't regret this purchase at all, to get the same music for only a fraction of the price is a steel. I would strongly recommend this for players and no-players alike.

2. You should get this album - This is an excellent album for the qualities of music. You will throughly enjoy listening to the excellent sounds of the Final Fantasy universe with the most well established structure of song I have heard among some others. People who like music will like this album and this musicians work very much.

3. Brings back memories... - This was one of the first games I ever played on my PS, and every song is easily to recognize. Not only do they do their job, providing something entertaining to listen to while you play, they actually manage to create certain emotions. Some are more "jumpy" and fearful, while others are more relaxed. Hearing these songs brought back so many memories, some good, some horrifyingly, incredibly bad, not because the game was bad, but more because of my own failings. That's not important, though. What is is the fact that this music is so memorable that fans should definitely buy it, especially at the price. Some songs are very short, and others are very plain, but when you put everything together $ isn't asking a lot for this incredible collection of music.

4. My Favorite Video Game Soundtrack - Without a doubt, this is the best soundtrack I have listened to in a game. Some people say that Junya's tracks are less memorable or not as good as Nobuo's or Masashi's...I disagree wholly. Each of the composers wrote phenomenal works of beauty and power. Masashi's in fact surpass a lot of Nobuo's tracks, IMO. My favorite songs are "Besaid", "Into the Abyss", and "Wandering Flame" - all by Masashi. I bought the physical version, which has the very nice case you would want to keep as a sort of parlor piece; but most everything is in Japanese. When you import it, iTunes translates it thankfully. But what I am saying is it's perfectly acceptable to purchase the CD's on iTunes instead in physical form.

5. Severly disappointed - I had previously bought several songs from this soundtrack and would like to buy more but then all traces of ff mysteriously vanished from itunes. Anxiously awaiting their return I played through ffx and fell in love with other tacks. Finally some albums came back to itunes. I took this as a good sign and patiently awaited for ffx. Today I checked and there it was ffx. I almost screamed..... I tapped and proceeded to scroll down to Challenge my favorite as if the album would disappear in seconds. I found it and next to it said "album only" I almost screamed louder..... HOW DARE YOU MAKE THE WHOLE ALBUM LIKE THAT YOU SIKKOS! Fix this!!!!!

6. The olden Days.............. - I remember watching my big sister play Final Fantasy X as a kid.....ah.....such great times. Though I didn't really appreciate the full quality of the game till later since I was more into Kingdom Hearts at the time. Today, I am playing it and enjoying the full blown nostalgia trip! It is AWESOME! And so is this soundtrack!(See how I connected that there?) Well done and captures the mood of the setting perfectly in my opinion. Though some may say the game sucked Chocobo feathers, I believe, to quote the TF heavy, that this game and this soundtrack "IS GOOD!" Don't be ashamed of your opinion my fellow bros and girls! Rock on and rock hard, especially to this, if you like!
2012-10-29
7. blown away - While i wouldn't exactly blast Beyond the Darkness while driving down the road, this soundtrack is breathtaking. The only reason I'm not downloading the whole thing is because all of the music is on the game haha if you go to the sphere theater you can have a listen to just about everything. I bought Zanarkand the orchestral version from another album and from this, i bought This is Your Story, Ending Theme, and Otherworld. Nobuo Uematsu is a musical genius and the other composers that worked on this aren't to bad themselves. I love all the music in the game, everything was great about it, nothing to complain about. Final Fantasy X is my all time favorite game! Devil May Cry falls closely behind it.
2011-05-23
8. Best Soundtrack ever!! - This is without a doubt one if not the best soundtrack that I have ever heard. The music composed by Junya Nakano, Masashi Hamauzu, and Nobuo Uematsu is incredible. These three are great composer's and i would love to her more from them, but as was said be before it is ashame that Nobuo Uematsu is moving on. His wonderful compositions will be missed greatly.

1. An epic masterpiece for a wonderful game! - I'm very close to finsihing Final Fantasy and it's been one of the finest games i've ever played in my life!! Full of atmosphere, Nobuo Uematsu's phenominal soundtrack has song that're happy, suspenseful, blood-curdlingly eerie and songs that're tearjerking and beautiful. People who havent play this game will still love ther soundtrack, but the one's who have played will feel the true emotion in each of these songs. THank you Square, for making this game for us to enjoy. But we thank you, Mr. Uematsu for making the soundstrack for some many wonderful games, but this is hands down, your legacy, sir. We all thank you dearly!!!

2. Shows its Age But Still Great - This is one of those soundtracks that shows it's age which does hurt it a little bit. However, I've found this to be one of the best albums to pick for a casual listen. That may sound a little wierd considering how much people obsess over the game but it's true. If you've not played the game you may not care much for the music and are likely better off trying the Distance World albums. They are the official concerts by Square Enix and do a great service to the series' music. If you are a fan of Final Fantasy, then there's no reason to keep reading. Buy it. You know you want it.
2014-09-28
3. Memories relived Happily ever after - Playing this game and having music that are deeply tied to each segment of the game is one thing, hearing it nearly decades later and still remembering the events fondly AND what events in the real world that were attached to it (between saves, of course) is an incredible feat only reached by Nobuo Uematsu's skill. (The Big Fresno Fair visit with close friends of , for one.) So great job on this music.
2014-08-10
4. Best Soundtrack! - This is easily the best video game soundtrack of all time, and only FF, Chrono Trigger, and Ocarina Of Time can be compared to this. Every song is on a scale from a decent view to legendary classics. We have FF to blame that the next games in the series had a whole lot to live up to, and few were able to keep the streak (Tactics, , X, and somewhat Tactics Advance). Having to outdo FF's soundtrack would be a monumental task, like if Usain Bolt got the m sprint world record, and then it was beaten by around seconds. Quit hating and/or complaining, and give it a respectful nod, or a loud cheer. My favorite tracks are Aerith's Theme, One-Winged Angel, Main Theme, Tifa's Theme, Let the Battles Begin!, Cosmo Canyon, Opening-Bombing Mission, Mako Reactor, Interrupted By Fireworks, not being in any particular order. But Aerith's Theme is my favorite vg song of all time. That's arguable, but the FF ost being the best isn't. And I think people should stop giving this ost a or star rating, as you are reviewing the album, not how well iTunes presented this! The fact that it is a partial album is annoying, but it shouldn't be worth deducting or stars from a star performance. Now that I suddenly think about it, more osts should be on here. The Zelda ones and Chrono Cross, plus Xenogears would make my day.
2013-03-08
5. "Error " - Like the last reviewer below me, I'm also getting an error every time I try to download a song off this album. This is yet ANOTHER issue with the iTunes version of this album. Four stars for some great music, but definitely a one star for the iTunes version. I mean, seriously - first the dreaded "Partial Album" issue (because the fourth song on the second disc just HAPPENS to be missing, forcing us to buy them all individually...), then the terrible translations of song names at points (my personal favorite song on here, "Holding My Thoughts In My Heart" is NOT "Dear to the Heart". The first is an awesome title - the second sounds horribly cliche'd). Now this "Error " garbage? Really? I know that there's issues with servers and whatnot sometimes, but this is getting a bit ridiculous...
2011-12-13
6. WHAT TO SAY... - This game has brought me unforgettable memories as a child. I sat back and watched my big bro play it all the time, favorite song "The Oppressed." I cherish these memories and it's kinda funny how big of an impact a game could have. Games like this come once in a life time, there is no game like FF that brings more memories.
2011-09-30
7. Not including the nostalgia factor... - This soundtrack is incredible, one of the best compilations of Final Fantasy songs made. This was a major turning point for Nobuo Uematsu not just because of the music's quality compared to any other game at the time, but the lasting appeal the music has. It shows just how original the composer Nobuo Uematsu actually is when he can step the quality of a song up from a simple chiptune melody to a full-fledge partially orchestrated MIDI format. This originality has since been lost as can be seen in the latest Final Fantasys. For one reason, Square has lost Uematsu as a lead composer, and two, the melodic edge Square had on other companies has since crumbled due to higher audio formats. It saddens me to say that this soundtrack and Final Fantasy VIII, IX, and X's soundtrack were the last truly mesmerable soundtracks Square ever produced. If you are interested in buying any of the songs in this compilation I would highly recommend every single one.

8. Hmm.. - Hopefully if we put enough one stars it'll get someones attention and make this beautiful album affordable :] I would totally pay $ but I don't really have that kind of money to burn :D great for anyone though, it would not at all be a waste of time to keep an eye out for it's price to go down ;) by far the best video game soundtrack ever :) :) :)

1. Greatest Video Game OST - Jeremy is a freaking genius!! His work on the Morrowind soundtrack is iconic, and the Skyrim soundtrack, also by him is epic... but THIS is his magnum opus, in my opinion! Such a phenomenal album! You’ll instantly be transported back into Cyrodiil by listening to this soundtrack!

2. Jeremy, you changed my life. - This music has brought me so much joy since I was years old. I’ve played it playing chess with the boys and sunrise of the flutes is my alarm. I’ll be playing this music to relax probably the rest of my life. They say you’re not truly dead until you’re forgotten...well Jeremy soule, guess you got yourself another years! I’m now. I will never forget this music and its creator. Thank You!!!

3. Beautiful Music without the games... - This album constains some of the most powerful and beautiful classical music to be found. You don't have to be a gamer or even know what 'Oblivion' is, this music stands on its own. Jeremy Soule is an amazing artist delivering rich music that simply transports you away in time and space, to another world, another time, and you will love the journey.
2014-07-30
4. Fantastic Soundtrack - After have not playing oblivion for the past years I was scrolling and found this I remember how great the soundtrack was in game that I went and found the case all torn up and dusty I put the game in and a played it for weeks I had a blast and it reminded me of how great the game was. This is a must buy soundtrack.

5. One of the greatest soundtracks of all time. - Over this past console generation, we have seen many incredible games that changed the way we experienced, especially those that had magnificent soundtracks. But even though it was released at the very start of this generation, Oblivion still stands as the greatest example of an immersive open-world next-gen RPG with possibly one of the most amazing soundtrack ever made. A game that conjures memories purely by listening to its soundtrack takes a special amount of craft to succeed, and Jeremy Soule should be commended for delivering such an incredible achievement.

6. Ecstatically surprised to see this on iTunes. - There isn't a game in the existence of games that can match the overwhelming glory of the music from The Elder Scrolls IV. The peaceful music simply transports you to Cyrodil. I could get up and be motivated for hours with the combat music. The game was made with the music. Full praise to the composer. Take my money! And hurry up and make TES Online music so I can buy that too!

7. Total Bliss - AFter playing the elder scrolls games for countless hours, I can now listen to the soundtrack and just close my eyes and escape into Tamriel. This is more than worth the . price. If you want relaxing and great composition, look no further than Jeremy Soule. This along with the Morrowind and Skyrim soundtracks will add a new level to road trips.

8. Breaking the silence - The first time i heard these songs it felt like i was there. Either i was diving into an oblivion gate, or i was in some alyied ruins looking for those rare statues. This soundtrack really made the game even better. If you liked playing oblivion andlistening to its diverse music then this is somthing you would love.

1. Reccomedation - In this review I list video game scores for a new album: Bob-bomb Battlefield, Injustice Gods Among Us theme, Halo main theme, Yoshi's Island theme, Super Smash Brothers Melee Theme/ Brawl theme, and Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver Ecruteak City. Those are just a few pieces that I feel would do your next album justice. Sincerely,
-Balmer

2. Lost for words - I would bet anyone who has played any Halo game ever, or Skyrim, would know the feeling that the music gives you that makes you want to buy all the music and play it over and over and over and over and OVER again. Skyrim, Portal credit songs (Still Alive, I Just Want You Gone) or Halo know that feeling and that is what compelled me to buy all the soundtracks and waste all my time listening.

3. Stunning and stirring - While many of the original game scores were beautifully composed and well-produced, there's just nothing like hearing the power of a real orchestral performance. In particular, "Far Horizons," "A Future for the Krogan," and the "Arkham City" theme benefit tremendously from the treatment and bring out their musicality, elevating them from "great tracks" to deeper, more emotionally-satisfying listening experiences.

4. Never heard more beautiful music. - As a musician in training, gaming enthusiast, and amateur art/music analyst, let me make absolutely clear how I feel about this album: I orgasmed several times. I cannot recommend this album any more strongly. I consider myself well versed in music (especially classical and movie/game scores) and I have NEVER had this kind of an experience with music.

5. Wow! - I can't believe they did Deus Ex! Human Revolution to me was the best Action/Adventure games I ever played. Yet underated to most, it still has the most indulging music ever. I am so glad that it was orchestrated. Makes me so happy! Skyrim's "Far Horizon" is amazing also. If anyone wants nostalgia, this album does it.

6. Good, could be better. - Honestly, the album is a mixed bag. Some tracks, like Chrono Trigger and Batman, are great. Others sometimes ruin the original tune. In particular, Still Alive doesn't really have the vocal excellence of Ellen McLain to help, so it comes out lackluster. The album art also bothers me; the original was excusable since Call of Duty was there, but this album has no tracks from FPS games. So why do they still have soldiers and helicopters? Still, if you liked the original, you'll like this one.

7. Great album - The renditions are fantastic, don't get me wrong... But how many times can we hear One Winged Angel? I feel like a few tracks were missed opportunities. Weren't there tracks from Halo, the Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect and Zelda on the last album? I have to admit that "Still Alive" is a very curious track choice for an album like this. It's a shame Konami and Capcom forced them to cut three tracks. But overall it's a great collection for video game fans and classical music enthusiasts alike!
2012-11-06
8. Great renditions on yet another batch of songs - I am an avid video game fan and to hear a lot of these songs being remade with an orchestra as renouned as the London Philharmonic is like getting a fresh spin on an already familiar genre for some. I was impressed with all the tracks including one winged angel off final fantasy VII and deus ex's icarus theme as both jogged my memory to familiar and not so familiar memories of a day before I had all the responsibilities I have now growing into adulthood lol. Either way for . who could say no to tracks? There were a couple that did sound incorrect to the titles on the listing but who knows perhaps they will fix it I E legend of zelda windwaker actually being castlevania. Either way this CD is a great buy for the money they expect you to shell out and the first album was amazing can't wait for this one to release.

1. What's here is great; just wish there was more - Really wonderful album. I've long wondered, though, why two tracks that I think would be particularly good for live orchestral arrangement/performance have never gotten this treatment, at least not to my knowledge: the battle theme from Final Fantasy VII (Fighting? Those Who Fight? I'm not sure...) and the theme from the invasion of Dollett (and later, Balamb Garden) in Final Fantasy VIII. Melodically, they're both Hollywood action blockbuster theme material. Hopefully someday Uematsu or someone else will give them the orchestral awesomeness they deserve. But again, what's already here is great.

2. Overall Simply Beautiful Music - It truly astounds me that such amazing music came from a videogame. It may be my history with the videogames but every song on this album seems to touch my heart in just a little way. Nobuo Uematsu is an amazing composer I really must see more of his work because if it's anything like this I may have to start a cult for him (kidding) )
2009-05-02
3. Nothing short of musical genius - Nobuo Uematsu is the John Williams of video game music. He composes music that runs the gamut from spiritual, deeply and emotionally moving to heavy, rocking and aggressive. Whatever he comes up with, he always finds some truly inspired theme that provides the driving force for whatever video game he is making music for. Even on the bit and even bit Nintento consoles, this music sounded beautiful. Now today we get it all in all its wondrous glory, unhindered by technical limitations and somehow it's better than ever. This music, whether it's from Final Fantasy , or ten, is epic in nature and is worthy of being the music for the biggest and most prestigious Hollywood films.

4. Anyone can appreciate this collection! - For a few years, I've been waiting for a Final Fantasy collection like this one. Although the majority of its pieces come from more recent Fantasies (VII and beyond), the few from the beginnings of the series can still transport listeners to the world of Final Fantasy. Uematsu's musical contribution to the popular video games have brought it to such a level that one need not to have played a specific Final Fantasy to appreciate it. Purchase this collection for the number and quality of pieces it offers. And what a better way to end a Final Fantasy album than with the original FINAL FANTASY score?
2008-08-31
5. Brings Back Wonderful Memories - Ah, the Dear Friends concert. It was quite the experience; heck, seeing Nobuo Uematsu alone was almost worth the price! I do have to say I wish they has Maria and Draco, but that's alright, considering the stuff they did remember, such as "The Man with the Machine Gun" and "Vamo alla Flamenco", two of my all-time favorites. All in all, you should really consider forking over the money if you like FF or classical music.
2008-08-14
6. An Amazing Compilation - While I wasn't lucky enough to attend this concert I am a big fan of the music from Final Fantasy. This CD is an amazing compilation of the best tracks from all the recent games up to Final Fantasy X. The concert plays them phenominally and keeps them true to how they sound in the games. I highly recommend this for any Final Fantasy or Nobuo Uematsu fan!

7. Glorious and Spectacular - I will simply state it this way, this album is perfection in a musical form. Being the avid Final Fantasy player, this just enticed me. I remember first playing FF, and it was good. Then I played FF, and it became my favorite game of all time. Aerith's tragic and tear-jerker of a death was beautiful and horrid at the same time. We all loved Aerith, and we were captivated by everything that occured. The music brought it all to life and death. It was beauty with a silky and pungent line of music. From then on, I was hooked. The Final Fantasy music is by far the best i've ever heard. And this album is the collection and reperformed versions, made even better. Never thought I'd ever say it, but this album is, and will always be my favorite. If your going to buy only one album, you must get this one, you will not regret it.

8. Simply put, this album is wonderful. - Being a picky person when it comes to music, I decided to buy this album simply because it was from Nobuo Uematsu. I loved his work with the Final Fantasy series especially. The songs are all arranged nicely, the quality of the music is fantastic and it's a good buy for the price. If you are a fan of Orchestra-like music or the Final Fantasy soundtracks in general, this album won't disappoint.

1. Best Game Soundtrack EVER!! - Getting this game on the SNES when it was Final Fantasy III for Christmas was a dream. I still have the game and box. Even after all these years of first putting that SNES cartridge in and powering up the game I remember the good times spent listening to the music and playing the game. Even on certain levels I would just have my character stand there and listen to the gorgeous music, looking at you Mgitek research facility. From the first track to the last this one is a knockout and why I think Nobuo Uematsu made a virtual classics and one of the greatest game soundtracks ever.

2. Best Videogame music ever - I can’t even express how much I love Final Fantasy VI and it’s music. The only thing that this album is missing is the introduction music with Terra’s theme. I don’t know if I’m just one of those people who notices the smaller songs or what, but the introduction is my favorite version of Terra’s theme. (Talk about the best intro for a video game!)
To this day Final Fantasy VI is still one of my top favorite games and I wish it got more credit than it does. I feel like I’m in a different world whenever I listen to this music. There’s almost something simply magical about it. I always find myself humming these songs, whether it being while I’m watching TV or at school. Round of applause to Nobuo Uematsu for creating these amazing soundtracks Update: After listening to Omen on YouTube I realized that the introduction theme (or opening theme) is actually included with Omen. My bad lol ;)

3. I love the aiship blackjack! - I never played final fantasy on snes or before playstation x, but for aure i can feel the good vibrations of this song when its made with all the hard effort and amazing music. How did i find out about it? Well i play final fantasy record keeper on my iphone and thats how i found out! I’m so glad i bought this song one of my faves to be honest

4. Quite expertly composed - This video game soundtrack is very good by musical standards in that it happens to be more than just video game music. When I say this, I mean that it can hold its own wihout the game being played, which is something many modern video games simply fail to do. Some songs are not as good as others, while others are simply amazing (Dancing Mad is phenomenal) but as a whole, I'd pay any exorbitant price for this great piece of video game music. Also, to the person who said that Uematsu is better than Beethoven: hell no. This is good, but years behind Beethoven, just listen to his rd and th symphonies in full. But, if you like the stuff here, I'd also recommend the soundtracks to Morrowind and Oblivion by Jeremy Soule. In fact, if you want to branch out from this listen to artists such as Brian Eno and Lord Wind, maybe even Tangerine Dream. Still, this stuff is great, recommended.

5. A Magnum Opus (masterpiece) - "The Mines of Neshe" is the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard, and "Gestahl Empire" makes you think of the Nazi Party, which sends chills down my spine. Other favorites are "Esper World" which delights the ear to a creeping hidden realm, filled with strange secrets and unseen beauty. "Dark World" creeps up on the listener in the most vague tone, a brittle yet deep vibe it emits, and "Serpent Trench" gleams intricacy to the soundtrack, amazing!! - This is by far the most intriguing and beautiful soundtrack done by Nobuo Uematsu. "Balance is Restored" is magnificent and harps up a very long yet excellent tune, FF OST is unforgettable!

6. Great games inspire great music - What can be said about FF VI that hasn't already been said? It is a tour de force for the franchise and one of the best examples of using the medium to tell an engaging story. A significant amount of the emotional weight comes from it's score, one of the best achievements in Uematsu's remarkable career. Just listening to the opening track conjours images of Terra and the soldiers marching through the snow with Narshe on horizon, still one of the most powerful cinematic image in the series, still gives me goosebumps. Everything else is what you'd expect from a FF soundtrack: memorable character themes, exciting energetic battles themes, and wonderful melodies up the wazoo. What stands out in particular for VI, is the sheer number of character themes being juggled, and how many of theme have both bright, energetic arrangements and much sadder (in one particular case tragic) variation. Last but not least, the final game min ending track is definately a musical high for the series. If you still reading this, you probably already know what this soundtrack is all about, so what are you waiting for? Pick it up, it is so worth it!

7. One for the ages - Well what can I say, Nobuo Uematsu is a music genius! Final Fatasy (FF for me at the time) was my second game in the series that I had the pleasure of playing in my youth. The music (even in bit sound) was captivating, from the first time you laoded the game up you were swept away in it's subtle tones and invigorating beats. I cant praise this album enough, a great installment in the seris, music and game alike. If you have not experinced this music for yourself then hesitate no more and just by the whole album and enjoy!

8. Not just for nostalgia's sake - Every gamer who's played it knows that FF has one of the greatest soundtracks in videogame history (THE greatest, imo), but what of you who have never played it? What of you who don't have that emotional connection with the music and the characters like we do? What if you're just interested in it for music's sake? In that case, you'll be glad to know that the music holds up on its own, taking away all other context from it. And not just "holds up" - FF contains some of the greatest music ever composed, period. Well, well, very well worth your money and your time to listen to.

1. Masashi Hamauzu Is a Master of Harmony - All of his original work in FFX shows why he was declared by Square to succeed the Reigning King Uematsu. His understanding of harmony and arrangement is legendary. He said this was his toughest work and it shows. It's staggering. He has taken multi-layered tracks and translated them onto the piano perfectly. He doesn't try to map them out in : transcriptions. He has completely reworked them to be great piano pieces on their own. The medium is the message.

2. Very Relaxing - While I was never able to complete the game I did play far enough to reconize almost every song or title. With that said, I was a little dissapointed with this album. None of them sound bad, but none of them stick out as other Piano Collections that I own. However, I enjoyed every song and found this album to me the most relaxing of the Piano Collections that I own. For that reason alone I think that this is an excellent album not just for fans, but for those who don't listen many soundtracks.

3. A Great Way to Preserve Final Fantasy X - I'm a college student with big aspirations. Games were once a huge part of my life, but now I simply don't have time to devote to them.
Final Fantasy X was my all-time favorite RPG for it's masterful storytelling and gameplay.
This music is the perfect way to remember all the good times I had with FFX, and the hours I spent playing it that I can't afford anymore. All the emotions come back and the key melodies are recreated into sophisticated piano arrangements.
stars for the nostalgia and inspiration this album has brought me. It brings to a close a very fond chapter of my life.

4. No words. - This music is so meaningfu, and it portrays emotions deeper than love or hate, they display those emotions that don't have words, or that can be placed into a category. That's what makes these pieces beautiful. They appy to everybody, even those outside of final fantasy. So please, even if you don't like or don't know the Final Fantasy series, give it a try. I'm sure you'll find a piece in here that you will enjoy.

5. Sweet memories of an amazing story - In my opinion, Final Fantasy X probably has the most amazingly well put together storyline ever. The game is like an interactive movie. It captures you and makes you apart of Tidus's story. The music is no different. Each piece takes me back to an area in Spira, like walking along the Besaid shore, or through Guadosalam, right on up to reliving the final battle with Yu Yevon. Every note exquisitely executed drives me deeper into the world of Final Fantasy X. It truly is still a remarkable game.
2010-09-23
6. Beautifully arranged, one of the best Final Fantasy Albums - If you love the original soundtrack for Final Fantasy X, you will love this as well. I have both and listen to both equally. The arrangements for Zanarkand and Via Purifico are especially amazing. This is a great album. Although a bit different than the OST, this is just as beautiful if not more so.
2010-07-21
7. Uhm, the absolute definition of "amazing." Need I say more? - This soundtrack is ridiculously beautiful! Out of all of the Final Fanatsy Piano Collections, in my opinion, this has to be the greatest! I highly recommend Final Battle, Travel Agency, and Assault; Final Battle is the greatest one on the soundtrack, though. In a way, some of these songs are better than their original game version and would go PERFECT with curing a person's exhaustion and stress after a long day at work or school.

8. Very well done-a Clasic for sure. - I loved the music from the video game, and I always thought after it that I wanted to know what it would sound like if it where on a Piano. Then, accidentaly, I stumbled upon this as I was looking for some new music. I'm very glad I got this, as it answers all my questions from before. Now, when I want to here something from FFX, but don't want to deal with all of the computer generated parts, I can just play this and It's like licening to something from Clasical. It shooths and brings back good memories. This is definitly worht your time if your a FFX fan. And, even if you've never played the game, it's a great way to unwinde and just enjoy the story that the music puts into your mind.

1. ...(Speechless) - Aerith's theme was already my favorite video game song of all time, but when I heard it on piano for the first time, I felt like I held my breath for the whole song. I personally think Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart should look up to Uematsu. Aerith's theme just has a huge effect on me that I couldn't put to words. I was also speechless at her death in the game. I sat there after she was stabbed, and I wasn't sure what had just happened. But when the materia hit the ground and her theme began to play, I understood what I had just witnessed before my eyes. I guess you could say a little part of me died with her.

2. Brilliant - I love how Nobuo Uematsu is able to effortlessly craft his pieces into just about any arrangement; piano, orchestra, MIDI, you name it. He's a true musical genius who is so underrated it's disappointing. Here we have untalented, synthesized idiocy streaming the radiowaves nowadays, when truly gifted musicians like Uematsu go almost entirely unnoticed. It saddens me. At any rate, it's amazing to hear these as piano compilations. In my honest opinion, I think Square is REQUIRED to remake FFVII for the sole purpose of Uematsu re-creating his incredible soundtrack with a full orchestra. That, to me, would be truly great. Theres nothing he can't do, that's for sure. These songs are proof that he's as talented as any of the legendary artists in history. I give him stars all the way.

3. Amazing! - Beautiful, gripping piano. One of the best piano collections made so far. The theme "Jenova" is really striking, I'm surprised it's not listed among the more popular tracks. Nonetheless, these piano pieces are nothing short of excellent. If you like Final Fantasy VII, these songs are a very good buy.
2009-01-05
4. Piano Collection FTW! - This is definetly an excellent transition from synthesizers to piano. The common songs (Aeris's theme, Tifa's Theme...those known from FFAC) are great, but its the ones which linger within that seem to be the best. I suggest the Main Theme, J-E-N-O-V-A, and The Battle Theme for anyone looking to gain the largest enjoyment possible from Nobuo's magic! Definetly worth the entire album purchase!

5. Very smooth - Well, I'm a bit disappointed that the Turks' theme wasn't here, as I would love to hear Uematsu perform THAT on the piano, but this album certainly grasps the beautiful grace of the Final Fantasy VII original soundtrack. Of course, Uematsu did an excellent job re-making his own beautiful creations. This entire album is a must have. I must say, however, that I'm not too fond of One Winged Angel. It's very talented, naturally, but I just don't like it as much as the other songs on this album, and certainly not as much a some of the other versions of One Winged Angel that Uematsu has done before. Nevertheless, buy this album, if you enjoy FInal Fantasy VII, and/or the music from it. You'll like at least a few of these songs, guarenteed.
2008-11-02
6. Amazing - I love the game and I loved the song you here whenever you'd turn it on at the beginning. So i thought buy it! :P Then i found the Main Theme and everytime I hear it...there's no word I can use to describe it. These songs are just amazing, the piano versions are better than the normal versions. :D
2008-10-05
7. If you loved FFVII, there is no way you won't love this music! - For the piano collections album of this game, i know they chose the best songs to write for piano. All the songs sound amazing and there is a large variety in the styles. From the sad Aerith's Theme, the march of Rufus's Ceremony, the driving Battle song, the evil One-Winged Angel, and all the rest. Overall these are great songs for that final fantasy freak or piano maniac. BUY IT!

8. wow - for those of you like me... whose little brother foolishly traded in FF VII to a game store years ago with out any knowledge of what he was actually doing.. and have since then, been unable to play this legendary game.. this soundtrack more than others.. really brings back some emotion that any true final fantasy fan experienced when playing this game. stars without a doubt. also, aerith's theme gets me going a little. but honestly.. tifa's gets me a little more. i always thought cloud and her would end up together. but no... and she was always there for him too. anyway... great soundtrack. must buy!!!

1. A Stellar Entry - If there was anything lacking in the Fallout and New Vegas soundtracks it is present here. There is nothing missing. The score is spare and haunting and hopeful and mournful all at once. The picture it draws in your mind is the same picture the game presents: an empty place of relics and tombstones made of the things we take for granted.

2. Second - Not as cool as first but seconds not too bad can't wait for fallout out and the graphics aren't that bad they are actually kinda good no they aren't ground breaking who cares you play fallout for fallout not next level graphics do you ever hear anyone play minecraft and complain about graphics no so get over it play the game or don't

1. One of the best. - Out of all of the music in the entire world to exist, not only in video game soundtracks, this is one of the best among them all. Seriously. Your ears can not hear better than this. Best video game soundtrack ever, and flat-out one of the best pieces of music ever constructed. Jeremy Soule is a living legend.

2. Memory Flood - Everything on this album makes me reminisce about my early years. Me and my brother would pump out so many hours into this game. We studied the TES lore and legends (we're HUGE geeks) and gave ourselves to the magnificent story of the Nerevar And the daidra. The soundtrack was half the game in my opinion. Great job!
2015-12-18
3. Amazing and Beautiful - Notice that the first song on the album is the orchestrated version of Dragonborn, and sounds a lot like Reign Of Septims in my opinion. The Elder Scrolls games are always amazing and bring back some memories. The music only makes those memories more beautiful, which brings tears to my eyes. This soundtrack, along with all the other ES soundtracks, is a,axing, beautiful, and inspiring.
2015-07-16
4. Masterful - This game changed it all and the soundtrack made it even more amazing. I grew up in the and bit generation so when I first played this game in I was amazed beyond belief. There had been D games on the DO, Atari Jaguar, PSOne, SegaCD, etc. but when Morrowind came out on Xbox it was over. This is the only game that I played for several years until Oblivion came out. The soundtrack was one of the most vital parts to making this game amazing. It is worth getting to listen to on its own. But still you should go buy this game if you've never played it. The graphics are a bit dated now but still a classic.
2013-10-28
5. A time to remember - Memories spawn from simply seeing the title of morrowind. From countless dungeons to arid flatlands, the music fits just perfectly with the environments. Not just complementing the game, the score is perfect by itself, whether it is serenity or adrenaline you crave, the morrowind score includes it. I trust you will not regret purchasing this album, and I highly recommend it.
2013-04-08
6. Best. Game soundtrack. Ever. - Morrowind remains at the top of my list of "games I had to walk away from for awhile because it was interfering with real life". The music continues to effortlessly stir my blood. I can't tell you how excited I was when I loaded up the newest DLC for Skyrim (Dragonborn) and began hearing familiar strains from Vvardenfell as I explored the new map. This album is an absolute must-have--not only for gaming enthusiasts, but for true music lovers as well. It is absolutely criminal that listeners and audio aficionados have had to wait this long for this to be available on iTunes. Buy it at once--you will not regret it!

1. What happened to Eyes on Me? - I originally purchased this album back in iTunes' early days and the Ending Theme on Disc was the original min. song. Why was it pulled from the album, no one will ever know. So whoever purchased this from awhile back should not delete this album at all as you will lose the original Ending Theme with Eyes on Me and I'm sorry for all who purchase this album these days expecting Eyes on Me and will not experience it. /

2. Oh my god - Oh my god, they brought the album back to iTunes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Santa and the person at apple who thought "hmmm, this album definitely needs to go back up." this is the best final fantasy game ever created, no matter what anyone says and on top of that, this was the first game to have a main song "eyes on me" with vocals (which is performed perfectly I might add) uematsu literally did his BEST work with this game... I downloaded songs when I first found the album on iTunes and thought "meh... I'll get the rest later.." but they took it off!!!!!! And now it's back! Before I wrote this review, I immediately downloaded the album. If u are reading this, and this game is just as nostalgic to you as it is to me, then stop reading and download it already because before you know it, it'll be gone again......
2012-12-26
3. Awesome but missing song..that I know of. - I am lucky enough to get a copy of this with the song, "Eyes on Me" sung by Faye Wong. Being the love song that plays during the revealing of truths so to say in the game it's a shame that it's not on the iTunes version. Besides that there isn't a song on here worth missing. My personal favorites are "The Oath", "Maybe I'm a Lion", "The Extreme", "Premonition", "Ending Theme", and of course "Fisherman's Horizon"!
2012-12-20
4. Ah! - Look at all the nostalgia! Another masterpiece from Mr. Nobuo Uematsu. He never disappoints. Every song here is a gem, but standouts in my opinion are Liberi Fatali (of course), Balamb Garden (maybe just for all the nostalgia), Blue Fields (Very calming), The Landing (Love the intensity!), My Mind (This may be my favorite song from the game, it gives me chills! Maybe just because of where it's used in the game?), Only a Plank Between One and Perdition (This one makes me feel really determined!), Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec (Love the song! Hated going through the sewers under Deling City though, way too confusing!), The Salt Flats (just very relaxing), Lunatic Pandora (intense, scary. Perfect music for one of the final dungeons), The Castle (Eerie organ), Maybe I'm A Lion (Just a great song, fits really well as being one of the final boss battles), The Extreme (Love the transition from a soothing beginning, to a fast paced boss fight song!), and finally, the Ending Theme (mainly because of Eyes On Me).

5. Correcting the Mistakes - Eyes on Me "IS" Located on this CD - DISK - Track for the Enging Theme. I have to however correct a review. Eyes on Me was [not] about Squall and Rinoa realizing their love for each other. Julia Heartilly - Laguna's first love interest is the reason "Eyes on Me" (within the game) exists. Julia Heartilly reveals to Laguna that she dreams to write and sing her own songs. However soon after that Laguna is shipped out on new orders, and while he is gone Julia marries another. The song "Eyes on Me" is significant to the relationship Julia had with Laguna. That is why the [Piano Arrangment of Eyes on Me is called "Julia" and not "Eyes on Me"] ) Final Fantasy obviously was my favorite game. The music was great, and even though some people hated the game, the story was great too. Unlike many other of the FF's this one was the first one to make me tear up, and laugh all in the same ending. I truly love this game, and its soundtrack.

6. I love the game... - this game by far is my favorite of all time, I loved the characters especially Squall and Irvine. I got teary when I listened to this album because it brought back wonderful memories, I played it when I was like fourteen and got sucked up in it.
I love Squall's aloofness and his confused feelings towards Rinoa, I loved how he tries to protect every one in the team and forgetting himself.... his insomnic nights thinking about the past and how will he deal with the future... Best game, if you love the FFVIII, this album is surly a must have

7. The Best Score. None can compare. - What can I say? Nobou Eumatsu clearly went all out on this score. It really enhances the game and its story along with it. The Liberi Fatali and The Ending Theme are by far my favorites, and The Ending Theme makes me break out in tears, because of the emotional attachments I have with the characters, and with one thing I still don't know. Does Squall die at the end? I don't know. I hope to God he doesn't when I finish the game.

8. My Favorite Final Fantasy Album!!!! - My recommendations are as follow: . Overture it really gets you excited when you first start the game!
. The Landing! It really sets the stage when you land for your SeeD exam!
. Love Grows... what can I say it makes me teary eyed just thinking about the music.
. Liberi Fatali it really complements the opening video!
. Balamb Garden whenever i went to school i thought of this song!

1. Ooooohhh buddy - I love this soundtrack. I listen to it all the time while I'm chilling. I've always loved this Final Fantasy in particular. I've always loved the story and the characters and I really fell in love with the music. The music makes me just sink into he game even more. But outside of the game it makes me feel very calm and chill and happy. I love this soundtrack.

2. This album is superb! - Speaking as a FF fan :) I can simply say that this album with the game, the story, the characters and the music gave us all some sort of attachment. It brought us closer to this game. I know it did for me. Every time I played it, I didn't see it as a normal game. I thought of it as an adventure that I was putting myself in a long with these characters. I began to get more in depth with these characters and they became somewhat part of my life. This is why I love square Enix. They know what there doing :)

3. From the best Final Fantasy EVER made - The best Final Fantasy OST appears on the last FF installment for the PSX. Every song unleashes emotion in you. Aboard the Hilda Garde makes you want to fly. Madain Sari gives that native feel. But most important, Melodies of Life is what makes this OST shine. I must have beaten the final boss so many times just to hear it, and to see the awesome ending movie. Overall, this is worth buying. It sure does sound better the overrated Final Fantasy VII's OST. They're both good, but IX gets the pick.

4. Still Awesome? Heck YES! - So many beautiful songs. Seriously - just buy the whole soundtrack. You won't find this kind of quality anymore, that's for sure. The only beef I have is that some of the longer songs don't repeat (like most game soundtracks usually do). Either way, it is only a tiny inconvinience. The beauty of the album as a whole makes up for it completely.

5. aww - aww that song a place to call home brings back old memories of when i was little and i loved this song at the beginning of the titles and i was like this song is beautiful and i wish i could get it and now i can! and if a song can bring back memories you know its good, so whatever you do buy this song and i dont think youll regret it.

6. Another Stellar Uematsu Creation - This soundtrack along with the FF VII soundtrack are sufficient to bring Uematsu to John Williams and Howard Shore levels, and maybe (if the public was more aware) even surpass them! There are a number of outstanding pieces on this disc, some of my favorites are "Freya's Theme", "Kingdom of Burmecia", "Kuja's Theme" to name a few! HIGHLY recommended.

7. Final Fantasy Memories - I grew up playing this game, and this is really one of the better albums out there, and is a must have for most FF Fans. The price is high, but worth it, and most of the songs are awe inspiring. It is also good that all of theses are buyable without having to buy the album. This album is a must have for all Final Fantasy fans, even if they haven't played this game.

8. Equal with FFVII!! - I actually did not play the game, but I do realize the greatness of a soundtrack when I see one. Not all of these are good enough to come to my Ipod, but among the ones that do: Battle I, Fanfare, Festival of the Hunt, Quina's Theme, Kuja's Theme, The Wavering Blade, Eternal Harvest, Eiko's Theme, Moogles' Theme, Ipsen's Castle, Not Alone, and The Darkness of Eternity,

1. Incredibly Atmospheric! - While I don't play World of Warcraft, I simply love very atmospheric scores. And the OST for Mist of Panderia hits the mark for me! I can easily visualize with the Asian/Chinese influenced music, such as the track Way of the Monk, that I'm in some foreign land that is both mysterious yet beautiful. All in all, well done Blizzard!
2014-04-04
2. Fantastic Album - One of the most important parts of a video game, I think, is it's music. And this soundtrack for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria does not dissapoint. The game's soundtrack really captured some of the emotion and atmosphere of the expansion. Great work Blizzard's Russell Brower. Can't wait to see what you have cooking up for Warlords of Draenor!
2014-02-23
3. years and still exceeding expectations - With all of the previous OST's for Warcraft, it seemed there was one or two standout tracks. They've all been excellent as a whole. This, however, is the best work that Russel Brower and crew have done yet. Top to bottom, soundtrack included, it's the best expansion since BC. Well done guys. Keep up the incredible work.
2013-11-06
4. Award-worthy, reminiscent of John Williams - Russell Brower and Co. have always done terrific work on the WoW soundtracks, but they took it to a whole new level for Mists of Pandaria. Unbelievable awesome and well worth the money. Some of this stuff sounds like it was written by John Williams. My only complaint is that there are dozens of tracks in the game itself that didn't make it onto the disc!

1. Aerith's Theme - The song for Aerith made me very sad. it is a sweet song, in every way possible- just as Aerith was. but it makes me sad to hear this song because Aerith is dead, and it litterally made me cry the second i heard it. it is a beautiful song, and it is worthy of Aerith herself. my thanks to Nobuo Uematsu.

2. Greedy and OLD! - for something so old we shouldn't have to be paying top dollar for a partial album. we should at least get the whole soundtrack! this is trying to squeeze money out of nostalgic old timers like me. I could get the full game for less than this. I'm all for supporting artists but not at this price and lets not forget THIS IS OLD!!! it doesn't matter if you're giving us songs for $ because who is going to buy it now anyway? Way to cut out the smart people who know the real (very low) value of this OLD stuff. I would pay the measly equivalent of cents per track but not dollar per track for something that is SO OLD!!!

3. FF- my heart and soul - gameplay wise FF was not the best final fantasy game in my personal opinion people get overhyped about it cause they were not old enough to play the games when they came out and are just playing it now and have that puppy love feeling or they just have a really good memory about it and havent play the game in years but coming from a person who has been constantly playing and still playing.. FF is my favorite gameplay but music and charecter design FF is a winner but by a very slim margin and it is different for everyone and their isnt a Hands down Best FF game ever cause MOST of them are good, i say most cause every series has a Black sheep in the family.....im not going to name it cause some people like to defend it but ya FF musics Owns i love playing aeriths them on Acoustic guitar sounds soooooo beautiful

4. Yes! - I have always been amazed by the music from final fantasy, and how much effort is put into it all, but i have to say One-Winged Angel completely made me feel like i was going to be completely crushed by sephiroth just by the tone and mood of the music, so i have to say Nobu is the most amazing modern composer in the videogame indusry.
2009-08-26
5. Great Renditions Of The FF Tracks - This was an excellent album! All the music was excellent, but the best has to be 'One Winged Angel'. I feel it blew the original out of the water! But why did the put the original battle them in instead of making an orchestrated version? I notcied some songs were not remixed. Other than that, great.
2009-03-22
6. A unique jewel that no one can copy - So far this is one of the best Final Fantasy VII soundtracks there is, the reason is because it contains the most popular songs from the video game and they are original copies and not made by other people but the people that originally created the game. This is a must have for any true Final Fantasy fan..
2007-12-09
7. The Memories - Okay, the music isn't exceptional taken alone. If you're looking for good music that doesn't necessarily require a love for the game, check out the orchestrated version. But if you were a FFVII freak (and I mean freak in a good way!) then these songs will take you back! I can't bring myself to play FFVII again (after playing FFXII it's hard to go back...), but the music brings all those memories straight to your brain! I was delighted to listen to the whole album.

8. Final Fantasy VII - FF was a really great game and ym favorite char was Sephiroth cus he shows how someone can turn com pletely insane in the blink of an eye and cause mass destruction. I manly played because of the great music and one-winged angel was my absolute favorite. Sephiroth has such a cool theme. I've also heard this song during the fights against sephy in both kingdom hearts and the KH version sounded really good in my opinion. And when i killed sephy it ended the way the song would if you were listening to the end of the sogn it was so cool and i basically killed him in the time of the song it was really kool. FF FTW

1. Flawless Music. Crap iTunes Ports - The music is fantastic. But the versions released on iTunes are so short that they barely finish a single cycle of the tune before it ends. Even the Prologue song ends before the music is finished! What the heck? For this album to be perfect, the song needs to repeat for at least - minutes for each track. I love this soundtrack, but I despise this iTunes album. I guess I just want MORE.
2019-12-28
2. This is awesome!!!!!! - I love this soundtrack. It has every song you can imagine for FFIV(known as FFII in the Americas) I spent one hour listening to Final Battle. I was there for every single character. I felt Edge’s anger when his parents died. I felt sadness for Tellah’s death. I felt every single character’s feelings in the moment. Get this soundtrack and if you played FFIV you will feel the nostalgia from this soundtrack.

3. I Really Liked the Remake version... - Not only was it... cleaner sounding and more natural, but it gave me (I’m not sure for other people) a more clear emotion when listening to the Remake, especially for the main theme. But I’m not to sad, but for now I’m going to see if your going to make the Remake version. If you do make it it would be a total waste if I already bought it. But I am thankful that you made ONE Album. I think I’ll wait a few months. Oh, and also if you do make a Remake can you Add The Mysterious Girl Song from The After Years? Others too like the Final Boss. If you do thanks! I have been looking over and over at iTunes, frustrated and sad about the “No Remake”. Sorry to rant. I have nothing else to do. I can’t find the Mysterious Girl song (Pretty much the Fat Chocobo) in The After Years, and the only way I can actually listen to the Remakes are in the actual Game on the Lunar Whale (With the Electronic Fat Chocobo in the back) I am so really Desperate right now, I can’t even find some of the EXACT versions of the songs like Within The Giant on SoundCloud. Argh! Can you PLEASE make The Remake?!

4. Save your money, SE is remastering this! - Square-Enix is remastering this exact soundtrack "unedited" on a CD set in July . I don't know when but it will get here to iTunes just wait. FF Is one the best all-time games and soundtracks, this is my personal favorite. Unfortunatly back in when they made this master, due to CD limation of fitting min which is not enough for this soundtrack, they opted to edit most of the songs so they loop . times (fade out in the middle of a loop, RIDCICULOUS!) and to completly cut off a lot of the music! So this one is missing songs and most are edited badly. The new July remaster will be unedited, CDs worth and contain the tracks that were cut off this one. It's a shame that they really screwed up one of the best FF soundtracks, but at least they are finally fixing it!

5. The greatest Final Fantasy of them ALL!!! - Ok lets just go on record and say that I am favoring this one over all else becasue your first Final Fantasy is always your favorate. So Final Fantasy (FF to me when I fist picked it up) was my first RPG really. I first saw this game when my neighbor was playing it I was at the time, I could not believe what I was watching!, and the music was just as captivating. I still find myself hearing the overworld theme and just being put in a state of tranquility. I cheered so hard when Rydia made her return, I was with Cecil when he became the Paladin, and I was feeling the same anger when Tellah was killed. All of that emotion was not possible without this outstanding soundtrack to support it. The easliest Final Fantasy to employ the subtle tones, beautifull themes, and heart pounding battle music that Uematsu has become famous for, is what makes this OST so special. DO NOT! just settle for a few tracks of this shining crystal of an album get it all and you will see what I saw and hear what I hear, absolute artistic greatness. Even after yers this music still gets played in my car and Ipod. I salute you Uematsu!

6. More Skits than Actual Songs - Don't get me wrong, I love the songs on this album. From the first notes of the immortal Prelude to the end of the Epilogue, every song on here is a piece of gold. The problem is, most of them are a little on the short side. A good amount of the songs barely clock one minute, and almost all of them fail to pass two minutes. What's up with that? Other than that, this album is an awesome album, with a bargain price too.

7. Amazing - I have owned this soundtrack since it came out on the SNES. I have to say, this soundtrack is memorible for great tunes and a few famous ones to gamers. I own the remake for DS and the soundtrack. These songs on the whole sound just as great as the DS counterparts. Although, this soundtrack has a few songs that are far superior to any remake. Especially The song when you battle Zeromus was botched in the remake. This is a classic and well worth every penny.

8. A Marvelous Acheivement - Considering that this music is nearly years old, coming from an era of gaming in which the music was commonly an afterthought at best, what Uematsu created is nothing short of amazing. Still one of the best scores in the series, still one of the best scores in the entire genre, this is Uematsu in top form. There are a few standouts. The Prelude, for example, is perhaps the best it's been in the entire series, as well as Battle's & being two of the most memorable 'Regular' and 'Generic Boss' battle themes in the franchise. It must also be said that Prologue, along with The Prelude, is far better in this soundtrack than it was in the next several soundtracks. The range goes from the upbeat militaristic track of Kingdom of Baron to the sweet, mellow Theme of Love, from the intruiging melody of The Land of Summons to the heroic Lunar Whale. The highlights would definitely be the two tracks twards the end: Within the Giant and The Final Battle - both of these themes I could seriously listen to for hours. Within the Giant is a very powerful, heroic melody, perfect for the last location (the Moon's Core), and The Final Battle shows just how far primative synth can go, as it actually uses multiple instrumental layers swaying back and forth to a very powerful, climactic effect. Some gaming fansites have ranked it the best last battle theme in gaming history. Other highlights, not already mentioned, are The Airship, with its sweeping strings, the somber and spiritual A Long Way to Go, the dark Bomb Ring, and the upbeat and almost inspirational Mt. Ordeals. Final Fantasy IV is a truly wonderful game, and while the score isn't as massive, epic or diverse as FFVI's, but next to FFVI, I'd personally rank this as the best Uematsu-only Final Fantasy scores. The only thing I could ask for would be for the tracks to extend longer.

1. Happy Yet a Bit Upset - I’ve been a huge fan of the FF series, especially since it’s the only video game with a backstory in Crisis Core to the original game & then Advent Children to boot! I bought this the other day, & I have to say that I’m somewhat shocked! There aren’t any of the original songs from the first Advent Children album, as I now own both. Glad to have this album, but disappointing that a lot of the original songs are gone.

2. Let down - As the title says, this album was a let down. Having 'One Winged Angel' is great and all but this track doesn't have the two most amazing songs I've ever heard in Final Fantasy, those being 'Divinity' that is basically the fight theme with Bahamut, and 'The Promised Land' which plays when Kadaj is finally defeated. Not having those two deducted a star each from this rating and I'm happy not to have spent the money to prematurely buy the whole album collection.

3. A Wonderful Experience! - I'm not sure what other people referred this album to, but in my mind it is Modern Classical Rock.If you are a fan of music, dont hesitate. This album is a great experience. I you are a diehard fan of all music, like myself I know you will enjoy this. As a bonus if you are a relentlessly loving fan of the game, the film, and the music...it's a must have. One-Winged Angel is the first track on my Pod, it gets me pumped up for no reason maybe just to get through another day at work...and i love it.

4. No Promised Land - The title for this album is pretty misleading, considering it claims to be complete but is missing several tracks from the Japanese version of the soundtrack. Most people seem to be upset about "Safe and Sound" or whatever, but I was extremely dissapointed when I saw that the choral piece from the opening monologue, "Promised Land" was missing from this album. That's pretty much the sole reason I was looking for the soundtrack in the first place, but the rest of Nobuo Uematsu's orchestral score is enough to buy it anyways, especially this rendition of "One Winged Angel". I'd reccommend the album, just be prepared for some minor dissapointments.
2012-07-03
5. An amazing soundtrack! - As the opening scene of Advent Children put so clearly:
"To those who loved this world... and knew friendly company therein: This reunion is for you." Uematsu has come back in full force, doing great justice in reinventing some of his older classics from the original FF, and expanding on the story with a few new ones. If you're an FF fan, or an Uematsu fan at all, this is a recommended buy. There's really nothing more to say.
2011-07-18
6. Good but not the best out there - This is an excellent soundtrack, dont get me wrong, but it is missing alot that the original had. many of the smaller battle songs are omitted and tho we have extended versions of several great songs, this really doesnt compare to the original. Itunes, please make the real soundtrack available to us. either that or we're forced to pirate it, and no one wants to deny this movie the credit it deserves.
2011-02-26
7. Great, but..... - This album IS excellent. It would be even better if, as other reviews have mentioned, Safe and Sound was included in the album. As good as this album is, it doesn't have the completeness that the original Advent Children soundtrack has. The first soundtrack features the ORIGINAL version's of Aerith's Theme and Tifa's Theme. While this album has the extended versions of songs like "Beyond the Wasteland" and "One-Winged Angel," it doesn't really compare with the original. iTunes - please put the first album up!
2010-08-16
8. Advent: One Winged Angel - This was performed live for the first time in Chicago. Uematsu himself was there, and had the "Chicago Mages" with him to perform this. It was one of the most memorable experiences I've had. I'm so happy to finally see that I can get a recording of this song. The entire album is amazing, but this song alone made it worthwhile.

1. Excellent soundtrack - One of the greatest video game soundtracks of all time. The music here is from the DS version, which sounds different from the original SNES version (worse, in my opinion); however, the differences are not enough to warrant the extra cost of buying a second-hand copy of the original CD set unless you're a purist.

2. Part Of My Life - Im now . I played Chrono Trigger on SNES with my brothers when it st came out in s, loved the game , story and music. I purchased the import Japenese CD soundtrack (this is pre everything on the internet days) and declared this in my top if not , best music ever. I keep the soundtrack on any device that plays music around me, and listen to it when I need to get my mind right. "Corridors of Time" "Brink Of Time" "Schalas Theme" and lastly "Secret of The Forest" are DEEP... Nostalgia, Emotional connection, whatever ;me and Chrono Trigger go back

3. Understanding Amazing - Whoever placed this here PI are epic. But my friend and I are only and we live this game. I think people need to understand amazing. My favorite song is Rythym Earth, Wind, Fire I think. Idk what the full title is. But tell your friends to get it in the App Store. I'm lucky cause I got it . but its . it's worth it though.

4. A Must Have! - Damm I missed these song so much I cried hearing some of them! If you've played Chrono Trigger, having this album is mandatory!
P.S. I'm another one who'd like to see Chrono Cross' disk here as well.
P.S.. Please remember to bring this disk to other iTunes stores around the world! I tried to gift this disk to a few friends abroad but it seems it must be available there! :\

5. Memories of the Past - I love this game, i have to tell you. i may only be , but i have a copy of Chrono Trigger for my SNES, so when i lost it, i fell to pieces because i missed the sounds and the music and the gameplay for it! Thanks to this soundtrack, i can relive those great moments in this game where ever I am! Thank you for this amazing soundtrack and the game! Best Game EVER!!!!!

6. Just pure great Video Game Music - Chrono Trigger has been my favorite game since I was seven-years-old and it still is! But what I loved most about this game besides the amazing story and lovely characters it would be the music! Best video game music I have ever heard. Street Fighter does has some good music to it but Chrono Triggers songs has always a story to tell and is just plan pure good music. You can see Yasunori Mitsuda's hard work show.

7. Brings Back Memories - Its great to hear all of those songs again. There are two things you need to do now. One make a Crono Cross sound track. (Back when the game came out I used the opening music for my gymnastics floor routine and have been longing to hear it again.) Two, make an instramental version of this sound track. Please skip the "live" version, I can do without hearing people screaming in the background.
2011-12-01
8. Amazing! - It's finally here! I have been waiting so long for this soundtrack! Every single song is a work of art. No two are exactly the same and they all represent something speacial from the game. I remember being little and watching my brother play this game, listening to the music when he equipped all of his party members. That may have only been a few years ago, but this is so nostalgic! I will always remember this game! On a side note, Magus's Theme (Battle with Magus) is named JP-A-- in this. Gotta love Zeal :)

1. Beautiful, but far from excellent - This is a very beautiful piano collection, and Uematsu has outdone himself again. However, if you are debating whether or not to get this or another piano collection by Uematsu, you should go with the other. This is arguably Uematsu's worst score, and it can only be enjoyed by true fans of the game. I recommend purchasing X or VII collections before this one, and if you do purchase this collection, you should only purchase a few of the songs. Being a coniseur of such music, may I suggest Eyes On Me (breathtaking), Fishermans Horizon (so soothing it hurts. Think Mr Misagi from Karate Kid...), and SM down.
2010-02-23
2. Strongly recommended - As a customer who's bought a number of Final Fantasy soundtracks, I may suggest this Piano Collections not only to fans, but anyone who enjoys good instrumental music. While Nobuo Uematsu's work for FFVIII is brilliant and outstanding among his own previous compositions for the series, these piano arrangements add depht and a lovely touch of nostalgia to the original versions. Gracefully performed, the songs will inmerse the listener into that Final-Fantasy-ish state of mind we all know well. A must have.
2009-03-02
3. An Investment Worth Investing In - If there's one thing Final Fantasy is known for, it's the music. Every single one has a breathtaking soundtrack... but VIII's piano soundtrack blows everything else out of the water. You want soothing? Fisherman's Horizon is for you. You want beautiful? Eyes On Me. You want dancier? Shuffle or Boogie. You want catchy? Slide Show, Pt. . This album has just about everything. My only complaint would be the lack of a true fast-paced song, but the rest of the beautiful melodies make up for that. All in all, if you're looking for some beautiful music, look no further than this soundtrack.
2008-01-27
4. Nostalgic - This is my favorite Final Fantasy to play (It was the first one I beat), and the soundtrack is very memorable. I love the jazzier pieces in this one that stand out (Slide Show and Shuffle or Boogie). The Castle is one of my favorite pieces for the piano ever and Fisherman's Horizon is especially beautiful.
2007-08-22
5. An Awesome Soundtrack But... - OK I love this soundtrack along with the FFX piano collections I own, but where is FFVII piano collections? Why did they have to start at FFVIII? Does anyone else want VII? Come on people let's join hands and start a petition or something, you know change the world. We have the technology...maybe I'm going a little far. But yeah, VIII is good too.

6. Best FF album available on iTunes right now - Of all the non-full soundtrack albums on iTunes right now, this is the best purchase. FF had arguably the best music of any FF and this compilation of songs is incredible. Put that together with a great rewriting for piano and you have a classic. This is the best purchase I've made yet and highly recommend it.
2006-06-13
7. Eyes on This One - The Piano Collections soundtrack outstrips the OST in nearly every way, adding more emotion, beauty, and inspiration to the tracks. While FFVIII's Piano Collections isn't the series' greatest, it's still wonderfully arranged and performed and creates a simply lovely atmosphere. "Blue Fields" starts the CD off and is about a million times better than the OST version, evoking far more emotion and capturing the overall tone of the game better. "Eyes on Me" is very atmospheric and sounds as though it could be played in a coffee shop, and is followed by one of the sountrack's jewels "Fisherman's Horizon." "Succession" falls short compared to other tracks, and "Ami" sounds remarkably like elevator music, but "Shuffle or Boogie" totally rocks: the country sound is a real treat. "Find Your Way" is very atmospheric; "The Oath" is very important-sounding, and "Silence and Motion" is far better on the piano than in the OST, but the trio of songs following--"The Castle," "The Successor," and "Ending Theme" are really amazing. In fact, if there's only one song you could download, make is "The Successor"--it's stunning. "Slide Show" is quirkly and lighthearted but not as enjoyable as "Shuffle." Purchase this album; you won't regret it. And, imagine wowing your friends after learning to PLAY these great songs!
