1. Nicely Job! - I’ve historically not been a fan of ign due to a pervasive sense of sponsor bias, but I must say this podcast has made me mentally walk back most of those sentiments. I due tend to lean towards more amateur podcasts where it’s hobbyists rather than professionals but can’t help respect the level of polish and production that goes into scoop and love love love the video game(especially)/’s music themed endings to the show that run for several minutes. This is one of the few gaming podcasts that hits home with my particular age demographic (same age as Daemon) whether it’s the retro music between segments or the ’s pop culture references the nostalgia is awesome. Also the hosts are very well spoken and have amazing vocabularies without ever sounding condescending. Thanks for getting me through work days a week at two jobs. A winner is you!

2. Awesome show by default, but went woke. - This has been one of my favorite shows for a few years now. Unfortunately their new community manager is a man who pretends to be a woman and everybody just acts like this is healthy behavior. Appropriating womanhood is not something that just happens. This is a mental illness and it’s weird that IGN is propping it up like it’s a positive thing. Your COMMUNITY MANAGER? What an echo chamber.

3. Amazing! - Really love this podcast, all content is interesting and fun and the main cast/guests are all interesting to listen to and get along great. They’re also extremely gracious when sharing the microphone, not very common on podcasts. Game scoop is not just the best video game podcast, but the ONLY video game podcast. Will continue to listen to until forever and ever amen.

4. My least favorite iteration of a classic video game podcast - I’ve been listening to Game Scoop religiously for years - through mundane jobs and endless road trips. From Knockin Boots to Omega Cops. I’ve seen the great cast change constantly throughout the years and have loved my time with it. Lately though, Game Scoop has turned into my least favorite iteration of itself. It seems like more Jan half of the podcast is spent flipping through old video game magazines and playing questions. A perfect example of this is the latest episode , on May . The first minutes of the almost hour long episode is spent going through the latest news. While the last minutes is spent flipping through a magazine and playing questions. The show seems to have mostly turn into filler to reach the hour long length. Hoping to once again look forward to this great video game podcast once the format gets re-worked. SCOOP

5. Nicely Job! - Game Scoop, the only video gaming podcast, is a highlight of my week. I’ve been visiting IGN since back when it was N.com. Game Scoop is the best of all the IGN podcasts in no small part to Daemon. The discussions are fun and thoughtful and cover a range of topics in video games. Video Game Questions is a fun way to end the episodes. Please to enjoy Game Scoop.

6. Hey, listeners… - I’ve been Scoopin’ in the Goosecamp with the Omega Cops for many a year now and I’m thrilled to say that the only video game podcast is still the best video game podcast. I was released before January st, (’s kid!) and my character does, in fact, wear a hat! Thank you Daemon, thank you Tina, thank you Sam, thank you Justin! This was a review of IGN GameScoop and I’m out.

7. Not in touch… - Listened to the most recent episode and discussion about Elden Ring. Nobody on this show had any understanding of why this game resonates with the gaming world right now. Samuel Claiborn in particular just sounds lost, he should stick with simple things he can understand, like pinball machines.

8. The best - Love the scoop crew, feels like hanging with four pals talking games each week. Makes for a smooth day knowing a new ep of Sooop is coming lol. You Guys/Gals are the best and I appreciate you. Hope nothing but good health and positive vibes for you and your wonderful families. PS. GTA iv. Is the Best GTA ever made. Def Jam vendetta needs a remaster on switch. Put NFL BLITZ back on switch too, Daemons MUSIC is dope. Tina you’re the true legend!!!!! Sam Is prob my least fav but in a good way he’s prob the one id like argue the most haha and that’s cool because his thoughts and opinions are usually spot on haha Justin haha you are actually right NCAA did have roster files you would just download and get the names of the actual players, college athletes used to not get paid for there likeness so us as consumer had to download to get our fav guys

9. Great Roundup of All Things Gaming - Looking for discussion about literally EVERYTHING gaming (Nintendo, Sony, XBox, retro games, pinball, arcade machines, old gaming magazines, etc etc etc)? Then look no further! This is THE podcast for you! Great hosts and great topics every week. I always look forward to listening.

10. The host ruins it. - If you don’t know something - it’s okay to admit it and move on. Listening to the PS/Wii episode and Daemon keeps being wrong. Instead of deferring to every other panelist he keeps disagreeing on basic facts. It’s unrealistic to know everything, but if other experts are telling you something about a small detail don’t derail your podcast by arguing with the other panelists. Replace him and the podcast will be % better.
2021-11-08
11. Great Group with Amazing Knowledge - Wow do these people know the game industry and especially gaming history. They are deeply hands on with their experience that adds so much more credibility to their perspectives. Enthusiasm is high on this podcast. Always fun. I love Questions to guess the game. Still my Go To video game podcast above all others.

Comments
1. Too political - I dropped this show for over two years because it got too political. I decided to give them another try when no elections were going on and I hoped they would have dropped that stuff. It turns out they have not. They are closed to any opinions other than their own and every episode turns into a political discussion in which they virtue signal as much as possible. If you want an extremely liberal political show that sometimes talks about video games, this is the show for you. If you want to hear about video games and only video games, look elsewhere. I’m very sad to see how bad kinda funny has gotten.
2023-02-26
2. Justin roiland - This show had an abuser on their show, and once he was gone they covered his crimes and took a stance on them without publicaly stating that they had him on their show and made money off it. I used to love this company but now I feel like they will put profit over morality and not take responsibility for it, all whilst claiming to be against the exact things the show guests are guilty of.
2023-01-27
3. Love Tim. Hate Greg. Love Blessing. - Blessing and Tim are genuine nice people. Love gaming and are positive influences in the industry. Greg hates Nintendo, PC, and Xbox, and anime and literally everything outside his wheelhouse. He can be a jerk to everyone including listeners/fans. Atleast Tim and Blessing make the shows something to look forward to it. Greg was probably bullied when he was overweight now takes it out on everyone. Very sad.

4. Love this Podcast - Guys love this podcast and all the others, I am Kinda Funny fan all the ways lol. But anyways I have to say shout out to Tim because I understand how listeners would want the show ad free, but to be honest who wouldn’t want to hear Tim’s voice talking about ads. Look I am a full straight man but Tim’s voice would be lovely to wake up to in the morning lol. Guys keep up the good work.

5. Colin was right - Used to really enjoy this pod, but during the pandemic things changed. Became heavily politicized and unwelcoming to those who have differing views. They were always left leaning as many people in the industry are, which is fine, but it has gotten to an evangelical level now. They're biased towards Microsoft even though they have a dedicated pod for that. That's not what I want when I'm looking for objective game news. Janet and their producers are also insufferable. Great production value though I'll give them that
2022-05-14
6. Politics Central - The handful of times I’ve chosen to listen to one of their podcasts they make it very clear that you are an idiot and not worth the air you breath if you don’t agree with them. They are passionately demeaning. Also absolutely not safe to listen to in the car if your kids are with you. There are some great gaming podcasts. This is not one.

It's Game of the Year meets King of the Hill as four of Earth's best friends – Griffin McElroy, Justin McElroy, Chris Plante, and Russ Frushtick – rank and review their favorite video games. Because shouldn't the world's best friends pick the world's best games?

1. McElroy brothers only - Great show when the McElroy brothers are on... Other two hosts just don't have an interesting banter... Kinda bore me... But when Justin and Griffin are there together...amazing podcast because there are tons of video game podcast but the way those two deliver it is fresh, comical and entertaining. The other two host seem like nice dudes but kinda boring or get to technical...blah... If McElroy brothers aren't on.. I just started skipping the show... No offense to the two other host but just felt like another video game podcast.

2. Funny, smart, insightful video game criticism! - I’ve only been listening to Besties for six months but it’s easily become my go-to source for video game insight and criticism, and a surprisingly great source for other pop culture recommendations. The whole crew does a great job providing context into a wide variety of games and I’m a better player for it!
2023-02-27
3. One of the Best Videogame Podcasts! - I’ve been listening to the Besties from almost the beginning. I always look forward to new episodes. The group always brings varied and interesting opinions to the different games they play. No two minds here think alike, so there’s always rich (if not silly) discussions to be had. Except for New York Giraffe who is stupid and doesn’t know anything. Highly recommend!!
2023-02-25
4. I used to play video games by myself. Now I can play with other people. - Long time listener, first time caller. Due yourself a service and join the one and only video game club podcast that you can tell your friends is a book club podcast. I like to pour myself a glass of wine while listening and eat some good eggs. And be proud to call yourself a gamer. Wait. That still didn’t feel right. Don’t worry boys we’ll get it next time.
2023-02-15
5. The only podcast I'm happy to hear sponsored ads on - Really wish this show got more love! It's honestly one of my happy-place podcasts and it opened my eyes to a lot of aspects about video games that I hadn't thought of before. The four boys have such good vibes, I happily listen to them talk about even games I know I'll never play. Resties is fun too! This show keeps me sane on long drives, thanks guys!!!
2023-02-10
6. Thank You Besties - I don’t get to game as much as I’d like to anymore, you know, the whole post--years/ old-gig.. but getting to hear these four friends talk about video games makes me feel like I’m getting to play each of the games. This podcast gives you talking points you can bring back to friends (or the office, I see you J-RPG-loving Steve in finance), great tv and movie suggestions, and in depth conversation about what makes a game worth it. They are real with you about games, pay attention to the shift in tech, and take the time to understand the social drivers that keep as grabbing the controller. Kudos to Besties.
2023-02-03
7. Best Video Game Club I’ve ever been a member of - Started listening in November at the first episode and now totally caught up. Some of the best conversations I’ve ever heard about games. Justin is right, these games have really come a long way since Pac-Man. At the end of each episode you gotta say out loud “Besties” or “Resties” along with the crew. So many things added to my wishlists thanks to this show!
2023-02-01
8. IT’S FUN’DUCATIONAL - Absolutely adore this podcast, I am only a casual gamer, but it has helped me get more into gaming. It’s a great jumping off point for new gamers as well as entertaining for experienced gamers! I have gotten so many great game recs from them! You can tell they love what they do!
2023-01-29
9. Great show about games! - Hands down the best way to keep up with what’s going on with games and what I should be spending my time with. So far, I find that Griffin’s recommendations are a perfect match for me, which is a bit weird, but I’m grateful for it. Keep it up y’all! Also loving the new bit “Better Know a Dungeon”
2023-01-27
10. More Noise in The Void - I have listened to a few of their episodes, namely the or about The Last of Us Part . I’ve ranted about those specific episodes down below, but if you don’t want to read a specific gripe I have, this is more general. They’re friends who game together and all enjoy gaming in general, and they will give you unfiltered impressions. But they’re not adding any meaningful discussion and they rarely have much criteria for why they liked something, other than they liked it. They also seem to try the hardest to have an unpopular opinion about the newest AAA game, which seems more like a grasping attempt at being relevant, than actually being relevant by having some kind of reasoning for why they’re saying what they are. For the specific TLOU episodes, see below Rather than review the game, they gave their honest feedback, which would be fine, except it was all presented as an “objective” argument with little to now willingness to consider that maybe it was an opinion. It’s fine that they didn’t like the game, but taking it to the level of mocking the story and themes simply because they clearly didn’t want to take the time to process and understand either, and then pretending like what they’re saying should be more than a very biased opinion, is poor if you’re presenting yourself as someone who has something to say on gaming. Like it or not, TLOU, and Part , are both games of the era, and if you can’t give comprehensive feedback on those, it shoots most of your credibility in the foot

11. Can’t get enough. Informative and Spectacularly Fun!!! - So entertaining and also informative. Not only has this podcast opened my eyes to ways to think about video games - with when to stop playing a game to how good I actually am at games (I wrongly thought I was bad at games for a long time!!), but these boys always brings laughs and a great fun time along with it. Thank you all for your work, you’re doing great.

1. Great Podcast, Sad to see Donut part ways but excited to see where it goes. - I binged all something episodes in about work weeks. I mostly started listening because I’ve been following Donut for quite some time as I am looking at going into law enforcement and he has a way of bringing comedy into informative subjects pertaining to what I ultimately want to do. Eli laughs like a dolphin constantly but sometimes I can’t help but crack a smile when he just starts dying laughing. Baddie exists…. No but really all three of them were great together but life happens and people get busy, Donut will still be doing YouTube and his random appearances on unsub and I’ll still be listening. Sometimes there’s great info divulged in these podcasts and it helps the listener just get away from the daily grind.

2. Baby Batter Never Sounded So Good - It is usually with fear and trepidation that I try out podcasts, but this is not the case when I came upon the soothing tones and sheer craftsmanship that is the Unsubscribe Podcast This isn’t merely a feast for your ears, but salve for your soul as you listen to this progressive throuple dialogue about the ups and downs of their journey through the weblike intricacies of the polyamorous lifestyle. Courage is the constant theme as the boys explore their hearts, bodies, and souls - and put it all on display for the audience. While power-bottom Baddie clearly takes the lead at home, he allows the resident reptile fetishist, Eli, to take charge of the conversation; vacillating between the epic highs of blistering romance, and the abyssal lows of public scatalogical play. We can’t forget everyone’s favorite gagless gimp, Donut (so named for an incredible adventure with a hemorrhoid pillow, listen to Episode for the full story). His muted, yet heavy breathing and grunting sets a sublime backbeat as Eli and Baddie explore the chaotic symphony that is the life of a throuple. They also talk about video games, I guess.

3. All but Brandon - Great pod cast. Have ran through all episodes so far a few times. Maybe one day Brandon will be released from his host spot. Seriously tho, great content, and good length. I listen at . speed so the dolphin laugh distortes my head phones. And you can actually hear Cody talk if Dave isn’t there. Keep up the work guys

1. Great fork of the original GB intent - Vinny, Alex and Brad are fun hosts, and each have different tastes, which allows this podcast to genuinely cover the wide spectrum of video games, video game news, and gaming related hardware. I listen every week and am always ready for the next one as soon as the show ends.
2023-03-21
2. Really like it - For the most part. I really enjoy the podcasts and most of the stream stuff except for Alex. He just needs to learn to shut it every once and a while. His attitude and just the constant whining at times is unbearable. I have to stop and come back hours or days later to try again. Growing up watching too many movies you always saw the pot head and they were slow and dumb just out of it. I have met many people that smoke but none of them are a poster child for those slow challenged pot heads like Alex is. Dude needs to stop with the weed.

3. Fantastic podcast! - This is the second review I have ever given for a podcast. The first one was for Giant Bomb. Giant Bomb isn’t the same without Brad and Vinny, who are now at Nextlander. Brad brings a gleam of hope to what seems to be mostly negativity everywhere else. He was, and probably still is, the most calm and level headed of the bunch. He has a lot of good insight, and knows what not to say, which can often be more impressive and important. Nextlander is one you don’t want to miss! I’m happy this podcast is not constrained by a large conglomerate. It allows them the freedom to express themselves without the fear of being bought out and what comes with that, “no longer being needed.” Especially when a single company buys another one, then chooses to sell that company, and then… decides that they want to buy that same company back…. Wow. These guys are veterans in the industry, and take pride in their work and the content they produce. From GameSpot, to GiantBomb (regardless of current and previous ownership), to Beastcast, to Patreon, they have proven time and time again, they are not for sell. They value ethics and their audience more than money and corporate servitude. Thank you, Nextlander!
Keep up the hard work.

4. I don’t want to hear social or political commentary - I really enjoyed this show and have been a big fan of Vinny for quite awhile, but I stopped listening. Every show had social and political commentary inserted. If I want that, I’ll go to a political podcast, etc. This show should be fun and lighthearted and I don’t need to know what the hosts think about serious issues. Also, it’s not about a particular set of beliefs I don’t agree with. There are many podcasts that find a way to keep that separate - regardless of the hosts views.
2022-10-24
5. What more do you need? - Beastcast without abby :( but with a dash of shoemaker. You should come one full time sometime Abbyybba!!! This podcast was refreshing after the scare of these guys leaving giant bomb, i have always been a fan. Jeff gerstmann show is great too everyone! Support him on patreon as well as nextlander!
2022-10-23
6. Hosts make fun of abuse/domestic violence victims - Followed this group since the hotspot days, but dropped them for making fun of an abuse survivor in Johnny Depp. Brad and Alex in particular were extremely problematic in their Sea of Thieves POTC videos. Alex was saying some really disappointing things about an abuse victim to get some snarky laughs and Brad was muttering jokes under his breath about how Johnny Depp should die of a drug overdose. Cruel and disgusting commentary from people I used to respect. Good bye.
2022-04-29
7. Old white men with a pod - I was a day one Patreon supporter and was hoping the influx of money would help them diversify. Unfortunately this has become another podcast of older white men talking about video games. If that’s what you’re looking for, these are good dudes who know a lot. If you’d like a diverse set of viewpoints and opinions about video games, this ain’t it.
2022-03-04
8. Time stamps are wrong - The time stamps for this last episode said Horizon Forbidden West spoilers end at a certain time then they are going to talk about Destiny. So I went to that time and they are talking about space stuff, I think probably Destiny. Nope it’s horizon spoilers. Please double check those time stamps
2022-02-24
9. Not much fun - I was a big fan of these guys in the past but ultimately had to stop listening to Next Lander. None of them seem to enjoying games or having fun. Alex is a chore to listen to, Brad is on autopilot, and Vinny largely keeps his excitement for certain Vinny type games. Happy they found success but they don’t sound happy.
2021-11-21
10. Quality and Dependability - I’ve been following these three gents for about years during their tenure at Giantbomb and have seen a number of changes and permutations during that time. They’re tried and true and tell it like it is. I’m excited to continue to embark with them on their journeys free from corporate restriction and see how they reinvent themselves. Congratulations Vinny, Alex, and Brad you’ve earned it.
2021-08-30
11. It’s ok - It’s functional, but there’s a lack of insight or nuance here. The discussions of the games are very broad strokes gut feelings with no interesting angles, and the news is rarely delivered with any thought or depth. It’s early yet, but as a stand-alone podcast this doesn’t work for me.

Love video games? IGN's Podcast Unlocked is your source for everything Xbox. If you live and breathe Halo, Gears of War, Forza, and more, Podcast Unlocked has you covered. Tune in every week for the latest video game news for Xbox junkies around the globe.

Comments
1. Needs a reboot - Welcome to Podcast Unlocked, where we’ll beat the same dead horse over and over again: how do we fix Halo?, who should MS acquire next?, the Xbox game drought is over! Or let’s speculate about some topic for a needlessly long time and show everyone how insightful we aren’t. I don’t even own a PS, but Beyond! is such a better product at this point, with topics that go past the PlayStation brand to cover popular games and franchises in a meaningful way. On top of that, the conversations go way outside anyone on the show’s comfort zone. We’ve been taking about this Activision merger for over a year and Ryan can’t even remember which branch of the government is challenging it. Stella is so pro-women in gaming, she doesn’t even know who Amy Hennig is. Please, guys, take a long, hard look at the show and retool it.
2023-03-16
2. Ignoring GOTY Contender - Have been listening for years, but have to give this low review for completely ignoring one of the best, most anticipated games of the year…Hogwarts Legacy. IGN is supposed to be game journalism. Leaving Hogwarts Legacy out of this podcast is GLARING, demonstrating a lack of objectivity in journalism of video games. It’s an obvious political statement that goes against the sentiments of the majority opinion of your listeners and the population. How many people have to complain in the reviews, forums, comments, and via direct contact before this company learns to leave their San Fransisco politics out of game journalism? There should be enough moderate or conservative people within your company who can fairly record a podcast on this game without political bias. If you can’t even get four people together to do this, then clearly you have a different kind of diversity problem…no diversity of thought.
2023-02-16
3. It tried to hold on but - There were shows left from ign that wasn’t pushing this woke poc lgbtwpir stuff down our throats, unfortunately there’s only now and I know the time is coming unless Damon can stand up for what I’m assuming he believes and keep GAMEscoop focused on video games and not preaching to his listeners. You were great Ryan. Thanks for the many years of content but I just can’t anymore. I hope you leave IGN one day and do your own thing, I know people will follow you. I know I will unless you keep this nonsense up.
2023-01-19
4. Buggy and clumsy add structure - The show was great but ign has recently started placing adds throughout their shows and unlocked in particular has trouble with these adds. The adds mess with the timestamps and run time and usually cause the audio to time skip towards the end. Usually it jumps backwards and you relisten to content you just heard, but sometimes it skips forward and you miss a big chunk of the discussion. Either way it's not enjoyable and makes listening to the show a bit of a hassle.
2022-12-15
5. Ryan is an excellent host. - Ryan McCaffrey is always on top of his game. Great voice and smooth professional delivery. He really keeps this show interesting. Destin is always very knowledgable and usually has a smart and interesting perspective. Miranda is also good. I like that she brings a unique take on things and isn't afraid to challenge the guys. I like her! It is important to bring in diverse opinions on things. It makes it more interesting.
2022-10-09
6. Star Until Ads Are Figured Out - Been listening for years, love the show, but my god the latest episode had so many obnoxious ads littered throughout that it was infuriating. Please just put all of these at the start or at the end or make them all an even : so they’re skippable without missing content from the show.
2022-09-23
7. Miranda is unbearable - Ryan is a good host but Miranda somehow manages to single-handedly submarine the show with her complete lack of self awareness and out of touch takes. Unfortunately her presence makes the show completely unbearable and despite Ryan’s (and others) contributions I can’t recommend this podcast to anyone.
2022-08-06
8. Caved to IGN’s woke agenda - Updated May - Since I wrote the below the podcast has just gone down hill and is full-blown following IGN’s woke, illiberal agenda. Ryan and Destin have tremendous knowledge but rarely are allowed to speak because the focus has to be on Miranda and Stella, who both continue to feel the need to giggle while they talk. Neither contributes to the show. Their role model needs to become Tina on Game Scoop who always has something intelligent to say. And guest host, well it amazes me they ignore inviting people from the community who have knowledge and would have something useful to contribute. I’m out. A good Xbox podcast, generally with interesting insights. Occasionally will lapse into the illiberal woke-ness that has overrun IGN, but certainly not to the extent of the PS podcast. Wish Miranda didn’t feel the need to giggle at everything she says, or is said. On the plus side, Ryan’s experience with the platform and insider knowledge shows.
2022-05-18
9. Unlocked - IGN’s Xbox podcast Unlocked is a must listen for fans of not only Xbox, but gaming in general. The panel does a great job touching on the biggest Xbox news, while also doing a great job keeping the less flashy stuff in the show as well. Ryan is a great interviewer and the panel is all ridiculously informed which makes for great shows. Miranda and Destin work great with one another and I’m excited to learn more from the shows new regular, Stella! Unlocked is a great listen and I highly recommend, BAM!
2021-12-08
10. Amazing! My favorite go to gaming podcast - As I get older and have less time for video games this podcast fills that void in my life, it helps me keep up with the Xbox news with Ryan’s well balanced views. Occasionally they may go off on nostalgic tangents for a little too long but I can’t blame them because they genuinely love video games.
Side note: it makes me sad that some other reviewers have mentioned that they hate that the podcast became “too woke” by just starting to bring on guests of color in and I honestly applaud Ryan for this, at first I thought it felt forced, but after a while I thought, “why shouldn’t gamers of different ethnic backgrounds be represented?” We’re all gamers here, all of our views and opinions matter, and for Ryan to share the spotlight with them just shows that he’s genuinely trying for inclusion. And this continued through with bringing on a permanent new female host (Stella). And if you’re genuinely upset to see and hear from people that don’t look and talk like you, then you need to ask yourself why.
2021-11-07
11. Great, interesting, & informative - Followed Ryan over from KOXM and thrilled that he's kept the same basic format. If you want comedy, subscribe to a comedy podcast. I want my game info in a concise, but fun way and this definitely does it. Like the other usual panel members as well - Destin, Miranda, & Brandon - plus any fill-in hosts. Keep it up as I'll be a continuous subscriber.

Nontendo Podcast is a weekly Nintendo podcast, hosted by Wood from Beatemups and Bob from Wulff Den.
Release date: 2023-03-24
Comments
1. Wood, those arn’t the ads we’re talking about! - This shows content is fantastic. However every single episode is mired by - very long ads (Added in post) not including any ad reads Wood and Bob do in the show itself. I’m not sure what the process is like, but Wood recently tried to address concerns about the length of ads but he seems to be unaware of how many ads get added to the show after he records, and only talked about his ad reads during recording. Each episode starts with ads, gets interrupted a few times in the middle (often interrupting the conversation mid sentence or even mid word) and then ends with more ads. And these are not short ads either. It’s very frustrating.
2023-03-03
2. Nontendo, Love it - Wood and Bib are such a great combo. They way how they talk back and forth is just incredible, love these guys and hop they get far in talking about Nintendo. Maby they’ll start othe podcast like “Talk Box” “Game Station” . Minor note Hive all the longs ads you want just as long as there spaced apart I do not care.

3. rd Party “Commercials” - Worse than the host-read ad reads are the random commercials that play throughout the podcast. They are super cringe and really break up the flow of the show since they are seemingly scattershot dropped in without rhyme or reason through the show. I get it.. get the bag, or whatever. But. These commercials hurt the quality of the show dramatically. Even the Trade Coffee or Tokyo Treat as reads can be pretty rough when the first six minutes of the show are straight up advertisements. I would be prefer the Besties style “let’s take a break” style ad spots. I actually listen to the spots, but I skip yours.

4. Great Show! - Been watching woods videos on YouTube for some time now…Bob not so much…we’re getting there though. One suggestion to look into though for your show to transfer over to buzzsprout instead of spreaker. The ads are way better and you can actually choose ads relevant to the category of the show. stars regardless!
2023-02-28
5. Good but why ads? And why random topics? - Okay so what’s with the ads? SO MANY ADS!!! Also, just in the first episode, they went off on random tangents, and it was about minutes in that they decided to talk about the ACTUAL TOPIC!!! The actual topic discussions are really good…
I don’t know if I’m over exaggerating this, but I really love the YouTube channels and I wish the podcast was more like the videos…

6. Enjoy listening. Hate the ads. - Wood and Bob are great. I don't mind the occasional talking to the other people in the room but Scoot is rather annoying. Ads seem a little too frequent when compared to other podcasts. Plus - minutes is usually them talking about their sponsor and patron. Although oftentimes the episode go over an hour so who's really keeping track. It's just an observation.
2022-12-12
7. Comfort listening - I could listen to these two gentlemen talk all day. I honestly get a jolt of positive and happy vibes whenever I listen to a new episode. Wood is such a pure wholehearted person and Bob is the perfect Yang to Wood’s Yin. He’s got a bitter side that’s the facade of his sweet heart. I get Ron Swanson vibes from him. Anyway, I’m a life long listener - thanks for the good times :)
2022-11-26
8. Almost stars but… - Star Podcast when the “skootish” guy is NOT there. Otherwise it would be a star podcast. But they bring him back as a guest a few times and I can’t bring myself to watch/listen to more than minutes so I had to take a star away. Wood and Bob and a very good dynamic and chemistry together.
2022-09-23
9. Room to improve - I love the podcast! My only con is that I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts, and I have never had ads show up in the middle of people talking. I am all for ads! I’m not saying get rid of them. However, usually the hosts say when its time for them or there’s some other kind of ad break integration. It’s jarring to have words and sentences cut off for ads with no warning. Otherwise, keep up the great work!
2022-09-16
10. What’s going on with intrusive commercials - I like both of these guys and having them together on a podcast is fun. The reason for the two stars is simple; what is up with the intrusive commercials? it almost feels like watching YouTube without a YouTube subscription. The commercials are loud and come in at inappropriate times and it’s the same commercial over and over again.
Having a sponsor is great. It is one of the ways podcasts make money, but whatever they have going on is generic and intrusive. The commercials begin without warning and it is the same commercial on repeat. Unbearable
2022-08-17
11. Still raw/lots of room to improve but they are listening to feedback - Bob and Wood have amazing separate YT channels and having those two come together was so exciting to hear when it got announced. However, the execution of this podcast has a lot of room to improve and ill just list a few glaring examples to keep it short: ) the prep for this podcast feels lacking, it comes off more like they just scribbled down or things they want to mention but the structure and flow is all over the place. ) multiple episodes had people talking without mics which made it frustrating to listen to. The latest episode finally seems to have started to address this - hopefully this is more permanent with future content. ) Wood takes way more air time than Bob, and when Bob goes technical you can see Wood start to space out and try and cut Bob off. Understand he’s trying to keep listeners interested but it comes off as the “Wood show” rather than a collaboration between the two - it’s just cringe to watch when these moments happen and they do happen often enough for listeners to notice them. ) this point is somewhat linked to the first - it feels like those two cant wait for the timer to be up. There’s a lot of just random talk stuffed in between when they ask how much time they have left just to kill time rather than a more organized and structured approach to the time they have. In more than one instance it just felt they themselves wanted their own episode to be over already. Things like asking how long they have left multiple times during the podcast makes it sound like dont want to be there or just doing this for the money but not really invested/excited to do this. For the most part though this is still a young podcast and im sure a lot of this will get sorted as they hear feedback and learn as they go. It’s still great to have those two work together and i look forward to their content evolving.

Welcome to Steak & Eggs, a Podcast about gaming, anime, and pop culture 🍳 Hosted by Asmongold, Emiru, and Tectone!

1. Better than actual steak and eggs even - This is such a good podcast I can even forgive the fact that / of the hosts play League. In all seriousness, great blend of a cast and amazingly well produced show. Currently my priority. Like if every show I follow pushed a new episode in the same day, I’d listen to this first, then check the YouTube comments for funny video edit moments, THEN start on the other casts. Y’all are the best

2. Goats of the internet - Finally a podcast by people that are absolute legends that isnt trash taste. Techy emi and asmon are some of the most entertaining streamers ever. Also love how each of them are different sides of the streamer spectrum to a degree so they each compliment each other in knowledge in the podcast setting. Great podcast, up there with the greats like Trash Taste Podcast.
2023-03-21
3. EMI! Shush! - Emiru! While Tectone is bringing yet another topic back to his life with an ambiguously fake story? Please Be Quiet! Jeez! How hard is that?! Let Tectone pad the run time! I honestly don’t know how Zack is alive with the way he lives. // Love the podcast. Hearts in the comments for each of you and for production staff.
2023-03-21
4. All Around Good - The thing that makes this podcast so enjoyable is the great composition of the hosts. I already knew who Emiru was but that lead me to Noodleshop where I found Tectone and hearing that baritone voice I immediately thought “Oh yeah this is the dude you sit around a fire with and hear some stories”. At first I did not like Asmon. I thought he was pretentious when I saw him during Elden Ring release, but he grew on me. I realized what I thought was pretentiousness was actually just honesty and a “who cares” attitude which is refreshing. So those three together make a great combo. Tectone brings the noise and rowdiness, Asmon the wisdom and honesty, and Emiru brings the neutrality and level headiness. Anyways excellent work all of you.

5. Just in case you didn’t already know! - Just in case you didn’t already know, these three have such an amazing chemistry it’s refreshing. Sure, tech tone sounds like he could be on a registry somewhere, but his insights are surprisingly insightful. Emi is well spoken and knowledgeable on many of the subjects they tackle. And Asmon, well Asmon is just the GOAT. They hooked me on Episode and I’m in for the long haul. Been missing a great gaming/streaming podcast since the passing of TotalBiscuit. Very, very happy to have these three doing what they are doing.

6. A funny, modern, relatable podcast - The podcast talks about everything from when you were we were kids to video games today. It’s like a nostalgic lens into the funny parts of highschool “good ole days”, recreating that feeling of hanging out at the lunch table with friends. As a long time fan of Texan raised Asmongold, and newer viewer/listener of the even voiced Tectone and the fair young lady Emiru…they offer a really balanced perspective: Tectone (male heavier voice) is like that friend who can admit to funny degenerate moments but who has come a long way through running his own influencer based business. He offers a great range of perspective. Emiru (female voice) has a fairly unadulterated normal perspective to kind of bring everything back down to earth. Asmongold isn’t afraid to be a degenerate today and leans into it for your entertainment. He does it in such a way though that he shocks you with wholesome moments or hard truths, and often leans into controversies for your entertainment and explores every angle of them. He is surprisingly fair and civil behind all that the more you hear him talk which makes for more interesting conversation the longer it goes. The cast is a great group of people to listen to and watch. If you’re looking for something to have on in the background look no further, give these folks a listen or two.

1. New Fan! - After watching the first episode. I played TLOU Part , I saw this in the extras and had to find it immediately. I have absolutely loved listening to this podcast. I will say DO NOT LISTEN IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAMES. I have also finished Part II. Hearing the people involved with the games talking about them and diving into the story has just been amazing. This story is one of my favorites now. I can’t wait for their after season discussion which I would love several episodes of talking about changes and etc. This podcast a love letter to the fans of TLOU
2023-02-03
2. This is perfect - Ill pretty much do anything for TLOU content and this is the pinnacle. I love the deep dove through the story of the first game. I would’ve loved more episodes about the second game but I know there was a pandemic Talking to Neil and the other creators was such a fantastic look at the games. I would die for Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker. Patiently waiting for the TV show, hopefully it does this master piece justice.

3. Enlightening - I love this podcast so much. I love the way we had access to details of the story of The Last of Us and how it was made and the difficulties all the people working on the project had to go through to make it the game it is today. The Last of Us is truly an amazing game which deserves to be in history books.

4. Worth your time. A must listen. - I’m yrs old and really haven’t played video games in honestly yrs since collage. My son is ten and has had a rough pandemic in a few different ways unfortunately so as a much needed pick me up for him and myself (and our daughter) I spent a month tracking down a PS and it was a great surprise for them and for me as well. Being a big scifi, fantasy, graphic novel movie nerd that I am I just had to see what all the fuss is about for The Last of Us since I heard friends, acquaintances and coworkers etc. talking about this game and how it is so great and unique. Wow. They all were right about everything. This is hands down the best and most engaging, entertaining and emotional not just gaming but storytelling experience I’ve ever had. The storylines, twists and the characters (you will learn to care for- sounds crazy but is so true) are what make this game or story experience top notch. My wife is an English teacher (and hates video games) but was very taken back and intrigued by the characters and story the little she watched me play. It recently just took me a month to complete both games and late one night (work night that is) after I finished playing part I set the controller down and I sat for mins silently alone with one of our cats in the man cave and just thought about the whole experience and the three (plus Lev) main characters’ plights and what it all means. Very deep, compelling, thoughtful and conversation provoking experience that can apply to our all our lives in numerous ways coincidentally from the past two years of Covid . I immediately looked up if there was a podcast about The Last of Us since I didn’t want this experience to end and wanted to discuss and think about it more… And this definitely was the ticket! I can’t stop thinking about all facets of this game and the podcasts takes you there and back again! Loved it. This is one of the best podcasts in terms of overall quality, sound, hosts, all major voice actors are included (even Lev! Yes!) special guests ( l love the new Candyman by Nia DeCosta and her episode was great ) , material, perspectives and overall experience of this podcast is just great. I’m motivated to play this game again soon (and am more than excited to share the experience with my son when he thinks he’s ready). Thank you for creating this podcast. Mike (MN)

5. A masterpiece just like the games - I’m sobbing as I just finished this podcast. An absolute masterpiece, so perfectly reminds you of the moments in the game that really made you feel. Made you rethink what love and grief and trauma and humanity and life even mean, in the best ways. It highlights so many wonderful moments throughout the games, with insight from the creators/actors/team that worked on them. Outstanding, will % revisit down the road. Thank you for making such magnificent TLOU content. If I could give stars I would.

6. The Last of Us Podcast is Amazing! - Really great deep dive into one of my favorite series of all time! It was awesome hearing the cast and crew talk about their experiences as well as the actual story itself. Makes me want to turn on the PlayStation and slide the discs in again for the th time. I love The Last of Us and , and this podcast made me love them even more! Endure and Survive!
2022-01-21
7. Amazing and Incredible - Incredible podcast, I’ve listened through at least times now and I still love it. A wonderful and insightful telling of the story, as well as a deep dive into the creative process for both games, which was fascinating. Thank you Neil and the whole team for this amazing game and series!
2021-06-02
8. Must listen!! - If your a fan or someone on the fence you MUST listen to this. Absolutely fantastic to hear from the people who made this masterpiece and the host is wonderful! Please listen to this and let them explain why they did what they did on there way to creating one of the most controversial masterpieces ever! Well done!

9. “I See the Appeal” - I’m one of those freaks who finds the making of/behind the scenes of any piece of art more intriguing than the art itself. The Last of Us, both parts, are absolutely beautiful. Far beyond its magnificence at face value, though, are deeply thought-provoking experiences (particularly in the narrative of part ). I thoroughly enjoyed getting to hear the insight from its creators and contributors.
2021-03-09
10. Awesome, keep it up! - Just played through the first game for the th time, and am a huge fan of the series! This podcast is great because instead of listening to all the hate online you can hear the cast and crew talk about the game from their point of view. All of them are really talented and I hope they do a good job on the last of us which I hope will come out fairly soon because I can’t wait to play a new game. Don’t cite me on this, I’m looking at you, “leakers”.
2021-03-01
11. As Meticulously Crafted as The Game - I absolutely loved this podcast. The production, the SFX from the game, the in-depth interviews and analyses, and the fantastic job Spicer has done hosting. Totally superb. I have had so many thoughts after finishing the game (twice now), and this has been the best way for me to get the answers I wanted. A necessary companion to the The Last of Us Part .

1. Really the best around - I’ve been listening to the podcast weekly for over a year now, and it really has been a great time listening to some dudes talk video games every week. Not only entertaining, the show frequently has great, unique and valuable insight into the industry we’re all passionate about. Not to mention, we get Alex Jaffe. Do the math. With Jaff, you get the laugh.

2. A community I’ve been searching for my whole life. - I’m , I’ve gone my entire life loving video games and my best of friends while I love them dearly do not share that same hobby and we bond over other forms of media and entertainment. It has been so exciting and refreshing to tune in and listen to these knuckleheads discuss things that I have always enjoyed and mostly in private. These dudes are quick witted and knowledgeable about aspects of development in games that I have always been curious about and I find there insights often fascinating. On top of that they share the same social values as I do and it just feels good to hear from peoples who aren’t toxic gamer Twitter reply boys. They are compassionate and inclusive and recognize the importance of that in video games. /, stars

3. Hilarious video game and video game adjacent podcast - I love these folks and their awesome guests. I got to this podcast via the Video Game History Hour and I was initially not sure about it. There was a lot of discussion about some video games or topics that I had never heard of, but I became aware pretty quickly. The banter is something that I look forwards to every week and led me to become a Patreon supporter. Give this a shot if you’re interested in retro video games, current video games, video game industry happenings, and other related (and unrelated) nonsense.

4. The REAL treasure was the credit we inserted along the way. - Through the Insert Credit Show, I've found my people. I've made friends, I've had my horizons broadened, I've laughed out loud countless times, and my vocabulary has been irrevocably altered, dangit. A truly special show made by some truly special individuals. I don't know what Alex Jaffe looks like but I bet he's very handsome.
2022-12-19
5. A podcastus for the rest of us - It’s always hard for me to find videogame content I can vibe with. A lot of it is boring, self serious, or trying too hard to be funny. Insert Credit is the perfect show you can just hang out with. The panelists are all super knowledgeable and funny, and the host does a great job of bringing interesting topics and keeping the conversation moving (special shout out to the horrible buzzer). For anyone into indie games, retro games, and nuanced takes on new games, I recommend you give it a listen.
2022-12-08
6. Do you like / modern video games??? - Neither do theses people! The Insert Credit crew is an encyclopedia of video games, their history and development. The host is incredibly hilarious and handsome and the panelists are at their best when answering his thoughtful questions with purpose and within the allotted time. The special guests are always really great, especially Ash! Get in that dirtbag.
2022-12-08
7. Always a good time - I’m writing this review because Alex Jaffe demanded I do. This is one of the few video game related podcasts. Why? Because it’s not a news or developer interview based slog. Instead, it’s a fun wade through the enjoyable cultural aspects of games; weird nonsense, interesting observations, and an appreciation for / video games. It’s not too serious, but not useless. I’m sure it’s other things too, but I’m walking my dogs and my hands are cold. I subscribed to the patreon because I want them to get to subscribers. I haven’t even seen the forum, but I probably will at some point. Keep up the good work everyone!
2022-12-06
8. A Wonderful, Unique Podcast - Alex Jaffe hosts a brisk, fun podcast where its crew and guests do an excellent job of interpreting games through a gameshow format. The questions are clever and often lead to insightful and absurd responses. Brandon, Frank and Tim all have such distinct experiences and tastes in games that it leads to opinions that feel more distinct from most voices in video games today. Esper’s editing really brings it all together into a top level production that I look forward to each week. I highly recommend listening and even becoming a Patron on the Patreon. Let’s get to that patron number!
2022-12-05
9. The Only Video Game Podcast I like - This is only video game podcast that I’ve ever listened to that I actually like. What makes it great is a gestalt of a endlessly witty host, Alex Jaffe, a cast with broad perspectives and experiences, and a format that goes down easy. Tim Rogers, an eclectic genius, writer, video game critic, game designer, weirdo with a big personality, a prickly skin, and warm gooey center - if only you make it the th hour of one of his YT reviews. Tim is great. Tim can be a jerk. But mostly, he is thoughtful, and brings out the best in his is other podcasters. Tim is self-reportedly a Jack-Russell Terrier of a man. Brandon Sheffeild, is a thoughtful, mild, and considerate game designer, and - I believe - CEO of Necrosoft games. I’ve come to really enjoy his thoughtful analysis of game design, and his creative responses to game design questions. He is clearly someone who has critically engaged with game design across the spectrum of games. Brandon is in one of his friend’s estimations a chihuahua of dogs - another self-disclosure. Frank Cifaldi is the the head of the Video Game History. I don’t remember which dog Frank identified as, but in my humble opinion, Frank is a wolf. He is reserved, confidant, and deadly. While Frank seems intimately knowledgeable of the history of games, he fits the everyman archetype. He likes a tall soda, and pork chop, and good ol’ fashioned polished AAA game, with the occasional side of nostalgic forray into insert credity / excellence. Frank is insightful, and direct. Frank’s wife is poggers. This speaks well of Frank. Alex Jaffe is the glue that holds together these disparate voices and styles. His quick wit, savvy, Tim-management(not mispelled), and judicious moderation make for an ever chugging, and fun format. Alex keeps the perrenially wobbling train on those goddamn rails. In my estimation, Alex is the Amaterasu of dogs. And most importantly, this is a podcast that doesn’t complain about political correctness, wokeness, or cancel culture incessantly. In fact, they make fun of those who do! WOW! What a twist!
2022-12-05
10. Funny and insightful - There are enough videos and podcasts out there of a bunch of white guys talking about video games that it could be its own genre. Unlike the rest of them, though, Insert Credit’s regulars actually have insight into the industry since they have all worked in it for decades and they’re all genuinely clever, funny people. The show also includes many guests with different perspectives from week to week which helps make each episode have feel unique.
2022-11-27
11. goes down smooth - alex is a genuinely talented host, it’s not easy with an ensemble show like this but he does a killer job of keeping things moving and letting things breathe when they need to. a lot of that is also due to esper’s editing! very polished and professional sounding show, good pace, very funny.

Comments
1. I’m done (RIP Giantbomb) - This feels less like a familiar community and more like some new ownership’s unloved asset I can accept when people move on, but when people are let go, it is impossible to invest in Giantbomb when some faceless entity could terminate a content creator at a moment’s notice. I tried to stick with giantbomb after Jeff Gerstmann was let go ….now there is a new owner, and new layoffs. I wish Giantbomb could just be owned by people creating its content, but that is obviously a fantasy. Meanwhile, Nextlander and Jeff Gerstmann’s podcast are killing it… if you want to experience some semblance of Giantbomb, go there instead.
2023-02-15
2. Sad to see GB come to this - Considering how influential Giantbomb has been and what a blast the show used to be, listening to it now is just depressing. I don’t know if it was the poor corporate decisions or just the old staff wanting to try different things (a lot of the old podcast crew can be found on other, independent podcasts/streams), but the show lacks the cohesion and direction it used to have.
2023-02-14
3. Boring irrelevant banter - minutes into a typical episode and they’re discussing things like what they ate that week or buying a new toilet. I suppose this would be bearable if they were funny, but it’s just typical irrelevant banter you would hear in a workplace break room. No idea why this is popular, listen to ACG if you actually want to hear people talking about video games.
2023-02-06
4. Don’t miss this one! - This is a fantastic podcast for you! The cast is full of intellectual content creators that are extremely passionate about their art. They speak to so many different audiences and have a great community of listeners going back to . They are known for discussing games media, but you will find that it is so much more than games being covered. This is not another IGN or GameSpot, for better or worse (you decide). They contribute to charities to help children in need and they truly care about their audience, not just ad revenue. You can become a premium member on their website if you want to support them (I have no affiliation with their company, I’ve just listened and watched for more than years). Even as some of the cast members move on to other things, like Patreon, the GiantBomb podcast and crew are still amazing (and so are the original founders, Brad and Jeff). They often go off on tangents, some cast members more so than others (Thank you Dan and Paul!). They are what I would call a family. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I do! Cheers! Don’t forget to check out their Voicemail Dump Truck (EXIT FLU).
2023-01-21
5. Lost its Luster - While I still like everyone on the show, most episodes have no rudder and feels more “fly on the wall” of loose conversations instead of a full show. Jan’s great, but a non-existent host, which causes endless cross-talk and non-sequeters. I can’t focus on what is being discussed for most episodes, so I just bail.
2022-11-17
6. Could be great but way too long - I like this crew and their dynamic together, but there is no one on this earth I want to listen to for and a half hours. With a show that long it’s inevitable you’re getting repetition, filler content, and generally wasted time. Give me a tight mins or hr and I’ll be back for sure.
2022-11-11
7. It's not Giant Bomb anymore... something new though... - They can say it is all they want but it's not. The name GB wasn't what made the site special and the name is worthless now as far as its history and value. People loved GB for the people on it, the core people that each had - years of experience each were what made it special. There personalities blended so well together in a way that can only occur when lifetime friends get together. Even adding new people like they did after Ryan's passing worked b/c you still had core people involved that had those longtime friendships. New amazing interactions came from the new blood of - people being added to the group at a time but you still had the core, the foundation to keep it going. Covid did the most damage to GB as you lost the interaction being as good once hanging out over video chats instead of in a studio. So when CV hit, the Nextlander crew leaving and finally Jeff you lost what was GB. If you don't believe me go watch some of the old episodes pre and you see what was lost. Make me sad b/c it was special. When Jeff left I figured I'd be done but once announced Dan was coming back I knew I had to give it a shot. I like Jeff Grubb from his podcasts with "Mitch", still do and enjoy Voidburger a lot as well but it's just become another generic gaming site now like IGN, Gamespot where it's a constant revolving door of people. Dan isn't on the podcast enough so I only check out episodes if he's on usually and even then less and less. Once the Nextlander guys left I knew my days were numbered and from the forums seems many others are as well as I see so many cancellations of premium. Seems like most people only stuck around with Jeff just b/c of loyalty and hope but the site wasn't doing any better then either. Thankfully I can still support Jeff G and Nextlander through Patreon and get my fix their, from the judge of both of their Patreon numbers most of the old Premium membership from the last - years have as well. I had my premium account since the old Whiskey Media days and kept it till Jeff left, was some amazing memories, people and trips I've been involved with over time and it will be missed immensely! I wish for the new staff they could do something with the name GB out of respect for old and to show they're new and to help them as well Maybe like a Degrassi thing... GB the new Generation. I get why they can't though. I will still watch some of the shows online, read through the forums for the people I used to chat with till I figure out where everybody else went but I'm done with the podcast. The one thing I will say that I can't stand is how the podcast is a revolving cast every week, they could have podcasts like before with a set cast of each so you can't get to know the personalities and enjoy the one you mesh with the most. Other than that, I don't want to get into nitpick stuff that I don't like about the podcast and what's being done with it. I just know it's not for me anymore.
2022-11-07
8. All good things come to an end - minutes of ads before a super long musical intro… they actually start speaking at about min in. Jeff gone. Brad and Vinny gone for a while now. It was already hard enough losing Ryan. Now, I just don’t see what reason there is for this podcast to exist. Clean. CLEAN?! Why? I came for the personalities. They are now gone. Unsubbed.
2022-10-05
9. No longer good - No humor. They hate the games, gamers and game creators. I’m not into their political ideologies or the other nonsense. What’s the point of listening? My old review:
The show is amazing. Funny. Smart. Intelligent. Best interviews. Jeff is the smartest & funniest man in games podcasting. Drew the kind tech genius. Brad the beautiful voice with a heart of stone. The rest of the crew is great. Dan creeps me out. He is the grown up version of the movie big, a year old in an adult body. (He's disabled, so be nice) If you like adults with adult opinions that talk video games, this is it.
2022-09-08
10. Remember when they spoke about games? - Couldn’t stop listening to the podcast because we wanted to see how long before they actually talk about games. Seems like it took over an hour. Feels like without Jeff this podcast has no one keeping the podcast moving. Just going to listen to nextlanders as it’s old school giant bomb
2022-07-21
11. Disgusting leftist trash!! - I have listened to Giant bomb for over years and loved every minute. However Jeff has become a bitter old man and everyone else they have on spouts leftist garbage all podcast. His new podcast he started it with a min diatribe on Covid and how he wears a mask and his kid cannot get vax’d… Good Lord will he ever learn? I listen to a gaming podcast to get away from the world and politics. It’s no wonder every GOOD personality left. So now the powers that be ring on recycled Gamespot backup hitters. Of course the start talking about being muslim and not being able to fly and how now there are two Women at giant bomb!! Who cares????!!!! Ryan would be rolling in his grave if he knew what had happened to his beloved site! RIP giant bomb it was a good run!! I’m off to listen to Nextlander!

1. I Could Listen to Pat and Woolie Forever - Two awesome people, one dope podcast. Nothing more I could ask for. They never fail to entertain and they’ve got that sense of humor you wish others did. Such a rare thing to find nowadays and it’s so refreshing. Thanks for helping me get some sleep at night! You guys are awesome and I wish you nothing but constant success in your gaming futures.

2. They promise nothing, and deliver less (but unironically) - Want endgame spoilers to games that came out a week ago, given with no warning, after being told they would avoid spoilers? Want unqualified financial analysis on billion dollar multimedia corporations?
This is the show for you! No, seriously, you get a step by step guide to speed running to late game, spoiler character names included, for the biggest release of the year so far, with no warning beyond “I was watching a Twitter video…” in the middle of a rather harmless discussion about weapon type balance. And they think “market cap” equals “company value at sale”. So yeah, they fall for every single Twitter rumor about “Sony is going to buy X” or “Why don’t X buy Konami”. And nearly a decade into doing podcasts together, and nearly two decades as friends, they still have no clue how to not talk over each other every ten minutes, because they do the thing where they say “oh, sorry” then JUMPING RIGHT BACK to talking. It’s like a cartoon gag where someone rear-ends a car, they get out, apologize to the other driver, make sure there’s no damage, then get back into their car and immediately rear-end the same car. Every - minutes. Or intentionally going “yeah, okay” over and over again over the other person’s entire point mid-monologue. And then they start shouting into their mics like a kid on Xbox Live. The fact that this show is reasonably popular just comes from the sad state of video game podcasts, particularly with the long, slow fall of Giant Bomb. But sometimes… you’d rather have nothing.

3. Humble opinion: IT’S THE BEST - I’ve listened to the SBFP podcast and now CSB. I’ve honostly tried to pick up and get into other podcasts and I’ve yet to find one that is as entertaining and on the nose as this. You don’t have to start from the beginning, you can just pick up the most recent because it’s the most relevant. I’ll be listening till the end.
2022-01-05
4. Best Gaming Podcast - My opinions don’t always line up with Pat and Woolie’s, but they’re always fun to listen to. Pat may be the funniest guy in the internet and Woolie knows his stuff when it comes to the games business. They are great duo and this is the only podcast I listen to every single week. (It’s also a pretty long podcast which is great for work commutes.)

5. Annoying gamers being annoying and having bad opinions - Just go to GameStop and find the smelliest looking person in the store and ask them about video games to get the experience of listening to this podcast. Nothing insightful whatsoever, just regurgitating the same stuff you can find in the replies to any IGN tweet.
2021-04-19
6. What if Opie and Anthony were SJWs? - I don’t know why they call themselves a video game podcast when the majority of games they talk about are exclusive to the PlayStation. Most of their act are ripped off Opie And Anthony bits, and virtue signaling. Seriously the slanderous things they say, I am. Or surprised they haven’t been banned or sued. “Everyone that works at XYZ is a “grapeist” although they don’t use the word “grape”. They’re industry knowledge a series of unsourced game informer articles and “inside industry contacts” the same industry contacts that told Pat the reason why Baldur’s Gate was terrible was because it was written to query an environment with a series of “if/then” statements. This of course couldn’t be more wrong, and should give you an idea of the breadth of both their PC gaming knowledge and credibility of “industry contacts”. Recently they had someone from The Washington Post ( you know “Democracy Dies in Darkness ) co host. Sometimes they’ll make incredulous statements about anime and their vistas of Japan. For instance, “Back in the day...you couldn’t buy anime or watch it online. You had to see it on Cartoon Network.” Side note they also think Mike Shinoda is “Brilliant!” Not really a surprise when you factor in everything else. So if you want contemporary politics that amount to “grr...Orange man bad.” In you video game news and your video game news to be covered with just as much insight, then look no further than these two millennials.

7. Don’t stray too far from your knowledge base - Solid podcast for keeping up with video game related news and culture surrounding it, with some comedy. Unfortunately, both hosts tend to make confident remarks about subjects they know nothing about, and then proceed to be petulant man-children (Pat) when chat or emails politely correct them.
2021-02-12
8. CSB SBFC - I really miss Matt and Liam. They would constantly challenge Pat’s insane bs when it needed to be challenged. Woolie tries every now and then but he’s just too nice about it. Pat is insufferable and the worst part of the podcast. I held on for like - episodes of the new podcast and just couldn’t push on anymore. Pat being completely unreasonable and childish while Woolie is trying to have an adult conversation is incredibly grading, especially for hours on end. Woolie is the best part of this show and honestly the only reason I ever do pop my head in. RIP old good SBF cast.
2020-11-18
9. The Woolie Sand Bag podcast - I’m not a huge pat fan but he tries so hard to keep the conversation going and all Woolie does is let out a tired “yeah...”, “yup.”, or “mhmm”. I’ve been listening since the beginning of best friends and now it’s just sad listening. It just seems like the only reason Woolie is doing it is to make whatever money is to be made off the shell of the best friends podcast.
2020-09-04
10. Done - Very irritating show. I’m sick of hearing about how “tired” you are at the beginning of every show. This latest one , getting a tattoo tires you out? Really? Your body is focusing on healing and it is tiring you out? Whatever man, how about stop playing virtual card games all night and get sleep like a normal person. Getting a puppy is one thing, but normal people can balance life and do that too. Hope you ride out the Twitch/YouTube career as long as you can because you definitely ain’t made for the real world.
2020-08-12
11. Best Dumb Podcast There Is - People talk about Pat being a huge idiot about things, and yeah, he kind of is. He runs his mouth about things that turn out to be wrong constantly. But it’s important to note that Pat is intelligently wrong when he is wrong, he’s just wrong a hilarious amount of the time. Woolie though? Woolie is open to ideas, asks questions more than he gives answers, but when he gives an answer that isn’t directly related to specific exact experiences he’s had, he isn’t just an idiot. He’s dumb about it. It’s hilarious, out of .

1. I tried to enjoy this show - I came across Kind Of Funny earlier this year and I figured I’d give the show a shot since I’m always looking for more video game podcasts to listen to. At first everyone seemed interesting and entertaining to listen to. But as time’s gone on I’ve had less and less interest listening to the show. I actually had to sit down and think of why as I was so into the show at first. And it boils down to how fake some of the hosts sound. When some of them talk about games they’ve played or things they’re interested in, the way they talk sounds less natural and sounds more like they’re trying to give this journalistic review of what ever it is they’re talking about. Others talk like those annoying YouTube and Twitch streamers where you half expect them to start saying “Make sure to follow, like, and hit that subscribe button!” or “ Yo, it’s ya boi [insert name], with my crew and we got these good vibes going today!”. For example, when ever they have Snow-bike Mike on, he always sounds like he’s in streaming mode (I know he’s a Twitch streamer) and the way he talks sounds like the same baloney all of the other Twitch streamers say when they’re trying to grow their channel with trying to stay trending with the latest slang despite being probably double his audience’s age. Sorry guys. I tried to like your content, but it’s really not for me.

2. Sony and Xbox Homers - Love Tim, but everyone else is Sony and Xbox fanboys. Greg is anti Nintendo/Xbox/PC. Paris, Greg and Mike crap on Switch. Switch is outselling all of them. Bring on some Nintendo people. (Evident by dedicated xbox and sony shows but nothing for Nintendo). Sorry you guys are not balanced.

3. You guys are kinda funny - And I mean that in the best way. I love coming to your podcast to keep up with all things gaming. As a person who listens to podcasts all the time at work, you’re one of the better podcasts, and better ways to get my news on gaming so I know where to look in what little free time I have. Thank you for all you do! Keep up the good work and game on!

4. Great show, excited to see it improve as well - Hey cast & crew of Kinda Funny! I love listening to the podcast on a weekly basis. I love the flurry of random topics that show up. My only con to this show is I think Tim needs to tone down the Xbox bashing. I think the rest of the crew lately has been holding him more accountable. For example Blessing and team disagreed with him on the Xbox E press conference. The only reason why I bring it up (because I actually think Tim is really a great videogame journalist) is when he starts talking about anything Xbox, it can derail the show and kill the vibe. Which I don’t understand the Greg Miller hate or calling him a PlayStation fan boy, he’s a pretty big advocate for what Xbox has been doing.

5. I used to love this show. - PLEASE stop talking about how so many things are racist. As a minority individual, you are lessening and manufacturing confusion of actual racism. Just because there is a stereotype or lack of a specific type of individual in a game, a movie, what ever, does not make it racist. Insensitive, maybe, but I even believe that is a stretch. I used to have so much fun with these shows, but now nearly everything involving a minority is racist in your shows. The direction the shows have taken are horrifying. For now, I will be unsubscribing.

6. Long time Listener Disappointed - Every year kinda funny devolves into less analysis and more self indulgent ‘it’s funny because we yell and have said it times’. I like a lot of the people don’t get me wrong but hearing you all talk about politics when your only information sources seem to be late night comedy echo chambers and article headlines you scroll past on Reddit(even when I agree with what you say it’s not like anyone comes here to hear you say it). If you want to be political be informed, otherwise stick to your profession.
2021-04-29
7. Amazing Podcast with Great Conversations - Tim does an excellent job hosting this. Even when I don’t care about the game they’re discussing, the conversations are still worth listening to. I love the episodes with Blessing and Imran especially because they bring in new perspectives that Kinda Funny didn’t have last year. Keep it up!
2020-10-18
8. Good gaming cast - Very good video game podcast. Enjoy most of the discussions. Imran is the king of spoilers so if you here him discussing a game...and don’t want to be spoiled...skip ahead. Blessing has been a great addition. Greg is a rd person action junky and Tim just plays Mariokart and Smash....

9. Kinda Sony Pony’s But I Love It - Relatively new to podcast, and wanted to spread out and diversify the games media voices I listen too. Just started listening to these guys at the end of and have enjoyed every minute of it so far. The entire cast and the behind the scenes support they have are great, Kevin is my dude man and I enjoy it when he jumps in. Started to watch all of Kinda Funny content now and have enjoyed every minute of it. Title was not meant to disrespect btw.

10. Everything About this show is awesome. - This is a great show for getting some insight on the games you’re looking forward to playing, don’t care about playing, or on the fence about playing. There is one huge annoyance I have as of late. I really really wish Fran would stop interrupting the other host right in the middle of a story. Dude we get it. You like the sound of your voice. Host your own podcast where you interrupt yourself. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not big on disliking qualities about people. But this is just a glaring issue that I cannot get over no matter how hard I try. And I don’t even % dislike the guy. But he seems a little too into himself or he’s trying to hard. I dunno
Great show otherwise. The guys are really good at explaining mechanics, the gist of the story without spilling things and just giving an awesome overall general overview of games you’re curious about.

Comments
1. Not what I’m looking for! - This week’s show had a lengthy multi minute tangent about dental work/aligners/TMJ that was more like a random rant for the streaming audience and not great gaming podcast content. Potentially very triggering to anyone with tooth issues. There was also a weird borderline possibly offensive impersonation of an accented dental office employee at one point. I normally enjoy Jeff’s off topic content about energy drinks and stuff but this intense dental tangent was all the way not what I’m personally looking for so I am done! Takes fifteen minutes into episode before video game content starts. There’s never been a better example of how Jeff thrives with a co host but really struggles on his own. Best of luck with your teeth dude, but I am out! Horrifying!

2. Too negative - First off, Jeff is extremely knowledgeable on what he talks about. He’s been in the industry for a long time and it shows. He also has a very listenable voice, and you can tell he has a background in radio. But man, the negativity. Not necessarily on the video games themselves (although he’s often pretty contrarian to popular games as it is), but just the general vibe when he’s reading news about the industry. It sometimes feels as if Jeff is impossible to please, and sometimes it gets to the point where I have to stop listening to a podcast because of how exhausting it gets. I still listen on a weekly basis, but sometimes I do have to cut it short. I certainly prefer his style over the paid-for “Everything is awesome!” style of mainstream sites like IGN, but more of a happy medium would be nice. Nextlander is really the podcast that does it best.

3. It’s Jeff. Just Jeff. - I’ve been following and listening to Jeff’s podcasts since he was at Gamespot. I don’t agree with him on much but he can explain why he feels the way he does about games and I respect his opinions. I’ve always viewed him as like an “Eric Cartman” in the groups he’s ran in. Which is great. He brings out the passion in others and comes with decades of stories and connections in gaming. Jeff alone though loses the best part of Jeff, the people he knows and grows with. The people he has the ability to bring out the best in. This podcast isn’t for me, which as someone who’s followed Jeff for literally more than a decade, is kind of sad. I hope to see him find a great group of people some day in the future to podcast with again but also accept this may be the future for Jeff. I wish him all the best and hope his future is full of happiness and success, even if that’s just him sitting in a room alone talking to the masses. As long as he’s happy. PS, Yoshi’s Island is fine.

4. It’s better than I thought it’d be. - I’m a big fan of hearing Jeff Gerstmann talk for hours on end. I wasn’t sure if it just being him would work, but it works better than I’d ever expected. This is a stellar ‘cast and I highly recommend it to other Jeff fans out there. A true bright spot in my week.

5. Fun show - Enjoy it so far, very obviously in the primordial phase but as a lapsed fan of Giant Bomb i’m happy to have this. Would like a co-host or some such stuff some point. I’m not going to pretend I’m not pining for some of the vibes from the early to mid GB days. For all I know that’s been discussed though, still listening and I really like to stay off Twitter.
2022-06-19
6. A real treat - Thoughtful and funny ’s bay-area low culture veteran and the most listenable video game content let-loose and unshackled. If you don’t know who Jeff is and this just popped up in your feed because you listen to video game content, give it a listen and enjoy someone who is, decades in, at the top of their game.

1. Love the show but ADS - But holy smokes the ads have really crept up. There is a minute or of ads every ten minutes. And they happen right in the middle of a conversation or someone talking about something. Do what ya gotta do to make money and continue the show but it never used to be this bad. Otherwise Fantastic show!
2023-03-05
2. Too many ads and poor taste in ads. - We should not be promoting literal gambling ads from a casino on a video game podcast… I always just hit seconds skip the moment I hear an ad, without regard to what I was listening to, I don’t care if I miss it because of how annoying they are. They come up way too often, no matter how short the ads are. This was my first reaction and I won’t be listening to more episodes. Have also seen others talk about ads that should not even exist being played on here.
2022-12-05
3. Much Ads - Back to back ads preroll. Fine. Pays the bills. more ads played back to back to back min into the show… C’mon now lol. That’s just disrespectful to an audience making me hit skip more. I don’t care what the content of an ad is. Free speech is a thing and everybody crying about the -isms and muh feels being hurt are weak minded and probably were picked last in gym.
2022-10-25
4. Racist/voter suppression ads // episode - It was very disheartening to hear two ads at the start and middle of the episode that promoted voter suppression and other racist policies. Idk how much control you all have over ads, but it didnt feel great as a Black listener hearing racist ads in one of my favorite Destiny podcast.

5. Firing Range Review - This review is strictly oriented towards the Firing Range podcast. I would rate DCP itself - stars. As a listener since Firing Range’s inception, I have to voice my frustration with CammyCakes as of late. I follow all of the hosts individually, and find all of their content on other platforms to be entertaining and helpful. That being said, lately I have felt that Cammy really does not mesh well with the other hosts. The recent episodes of the podcast have felt like “let the big boys talk until Cammy derails the conversation and then let’s move on.” The hosts will be having an interesting conversation until Cammy interjects with “well ‘I’ can pull off X… therefore X is viable.” But oftentimes his suggestions are simply too situational, too niche, or too out of touch with the larger portion of the community. Take his recent comments about Behemoth Titan on the podcast. When the overall community sentiment is that Behemoth was over-nerfed for PVP and PVE, to hear Cammy say that Behemoth is now “better” because of a setup that he, as a top % PVP player can pull off in situational engagements is downright insulting. Firing Range is at its best when the commentary is against a backdrop of the overall community sentiment. I tend to roll my eyes when Cammy brings up strategies that are irrelevant to % of the PVP community. His perspective comes across as elitist and really turns me off as a dedicated listener. I would really like to see the other hosts challenge Cammy on some of his more niche setups. Challenge him to relate his build to the community at large in terms of viability. I think this could lead to a more interesting back and forth than simply allowing Cammy to say whatever he wants without any challenges. I prefer Cammy on the podcast, because I do think he has moments of lucidity in his commentary. But overall I really would like to see him reel in his arrogant tone in order for the conversation to flow more naturally. Thanks for reading.

6. Awesome and fun! - DCP is truly an awesome Destiny Podcast to listen to! Long time listener, even back when thecrew started out as Planet Destiny. Now, as the Destiny Community Podcast, it just got even better. Plenty of insight into the world of Destiny, accompanied by some awesome guests, hilarious banter, jokes and talks. The haters don’t know what they’re talking about. Also, the BBQ Briar jokes never get old!
2021-04-25
7. What’s that smell? Cooked Briar? YUMMY! - Absolutely love you guys and the show! I get super happy when I see that a new episode has popped up because you guys just bring such a positive vibe to these troubling times. The best parts are when watts cat demands for some camera action and when Tefty strokes his magnificent.......BEARD! It’s also hilarious when briar is reading out a Twitter question that literally involves him getting eaten in a delicious way and watching his reaction always puts a smile on my face, keep up the good work and definitely stars, thank you! I also have a listener question if you would be so kind! If each of you could make an exotic weapon what would the name, type and exotic perk be?

8. what do they mean? - I listen... to the Focus fire chat and every now and then to the basic show on here. lol nice they said Focus Fire Chat was a different channel. Not really... it’s same podcast different Channels like what SNTR has going on with different podcast and YouTube channels to watch. But I guess when you get all the likes. For nothing you can say as you please. Plenty of other Destiny Podcast, I don’t recommend this one.

9. Some Friendly Feedback - Update // - It would be so much easier to listen if Briar would stop cursing so much. It’s not necessary, I won’t speak for the rest of the team but they don’t seem to find it entertaining either. It’s just crude and limits where and when I can listen. If your going to have so much cursing at LEAST add an age warning to your titles so I and others can be aware that it’s not family car ride friendly. Older - For Briar - I often hear you talking over your co-hosts on each episode. I suggest bringing up the audio levels in your headphones so you better detect the right time to jump into the conversation. Specifically, I hear this happening to Ms Watts and Teft the most. I do love your laugh. It makes me smile every time. For Fran - I believe your skills from IGN are underused. I think it would serve the show to have you take over one of the segments (like the TWAB reading for instance) or, develop a new segment. You have a lot of talent and I’d hate to see it go to waste. For Pope - You have a great, big, beautiful heart Pope. Although I would say you are very close to being out of the “Casual” group with every show with how many hours you play. Also, I think you have a perfect amount of energy for the guest interviews and with some professional coaching or just reading off a script verbatim you would really elevate the day interview segment each episode. As it stands, it’s really my least favorite segment because your questions run on into more questions instead of a clean back and forth. Keep doing them!! Just chase excellence along the way. For Teft - No feedback. For Ms Watts - No Feedback.

10. Boring Podcast - Well honestly first a minor complaint. The jokes everyone tries to make falls super flat for me especially Briar and Watts. I feel they try so hard and just doesn’t land. Second, when MindofSnaps was a guest it really ticked me the wrong way that she doesn’t even play the game and actually makes someone else do it. To me that’s not the right type of guest to bring on. Third, I used to listen but I feel like it’s lost it’s charm it used to have and it was fun but now it just feels like people are forced to sit down and talk about a game they’re really bored with. Maybe my criticism is something to look into but for now I’m dropping the podcast.
2020-09-03
11. Jumped the shark - Was a long time listener and these are good ppl. I just think it’s jumped the shark a bit. Jokes are the same every time: make fun of warlocks, say how terrible it must be to play on a console or low end PC instead of a $k gaming rig etc. It had a really good innings but the magic is gone.
