1. Not the best from this great songwriter - It is just Ok, if I could un-buy it, I probably would simply so that I could buy another Passenger album more worthy.
There is nothing wrong with the lyrics, they are thoughtful if somewhat morose; what gets me is that I could not listen to this album without identifying it with several of his other albums - listen to the melodies and the structure of the album and you will see what I mean. 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' is not a copy or a clone, it feels to much like an album created along a formula required for the record label and therfore inherits too much from previous successes.
Just my c.

2. Closing a chapter and moving on.... - This album brilliantly portrays another very important milestone in Passenger's journey. Beautiful collection of deeply relevant and meaningful songs. From gently comforting and reviling, through humbly remorseful, self reflective and enlightening to hopeful, encouraging and sweetly settling. Finally to embracing the need to grow, find peace and open up to new possibilities. All of them adorned in beautiful melodies expressed through emotionally saturated voice of Passenger. Openhearted, genuine, humbled by experience hard won battles of mind, heart and soul so consistent with the unique creative style of Passenger. Vulnerability is a virtue, people matter and his artistry is needed, appreciated and loved. Brilliantly done!!!

3. Beautiful - I remember how much I love Passenger everytime I listen to them. Another album filled with beautiful, peaceful, songs that are wonderful to listen to and go straight to my heart. Mike and his band never fail to amaze me. Thank you so much for providing me with incredible music over the years.

1. Easy to listen to too - I saw Marc perform live in San Francisco at the Chapel on Oct - what a show - non stop music for nearly hrs and so much joy and feeling - it’s hard to describe - the quartets performance of “ Don’t be Afraid to Call me” with the verse continuing “no matter how long it’s been” is such a good song. So much feeling and emotion come with it, it’s - it’s just pure joy to listen to. I’ve not yet heard the whole album - but I heard several new tracks on Oct that resonate with Marc’s unmistakable style - blues, jazz, Memphis sound, Rock N’awlins and GREAT story telling. I can’t wait to hear it all. Thanks Marc, for sharing your gift with us all.

2. Good for the Soul - I love Marc Broussard. I've been a huge fan since Carencro. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I heard that he was releasing a new album. I started by purchasing songs, then as I listened to previews of the other songs, I purchased the entire album. It's just so good and every song sounds like an instant classic, especially Baton Rouge and Don't Be Afraid to Call Me. I saw a mediocre review and I think it may be due to this album being categorized as traditional folk, that's just not the genre I think of when I think of Marc.

3. Marc Broussaard Has Soul! Why is this in Traditional Folk? - Curious why iTunes put this is in the Traditional Folk genre. While his past few albums have been a bit on the folksy side, Marc Broussard's soulful voice has mostly been on the R&B side, primarily with his S.O.S. (Save Our Soul) series. Actually, on this album he seems to easily adapt to multiple styles running through acoustic, folk, rock, and even a cover of Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me.” Just another step in his musical evolution, and "Easy to Love" is a good one. Happy you’re letting us be part of your musical journey, but definitely NOT Traditional Folk. Must be the beard…

4. You Did It Again! - Just love the musician you have continued to become over the years, but more importantly, as a father myself, the man, father and husband you have become! Your lyrics have always reflected the exact stage of life I'm in, with every new album and this one hits me deep, yet again! The world needs more vocalists writing songs like you do...from the heart!

1. Wonderful - When I hear music for the first time and I immediately want to buy it, I know it is not just because it is a great sound, but because I know I will want to play it on repeat for hours on end. Jenny and Tyler’s vocals go down like a warm cinnamon roll and the spice of the mandolin pair perfectly like a hot shot of espresso. I’ve met Jenny and Tyler in person and helped setup their sound and they have to be two of the sweetest people on the planet. Great people. Great artists.

2. Well, what can I say? - I love their unique folksy style and the purity of their hearts that comes across on the album. I'm a new listener, but I've already fallen in love with the enchanting sound they make. I really like the playful bonus track on this film. That's what I like about them: they're real. They are not fake at all, and the relate to many listeners through their lyrics without trying too hard to relate. And the music really speaks for itself, so there's not much else to say except: BUY IT!

3. Excellence - Jenny & Tyler are brilliant musicians and songwriters. If you've heard any of their stuff before, you know what I am talking about. Faint Not continues in the excellence that has preceded it. If you don't like their music, then you just don't like good music. So I'm confident that you will be glad you bought this album. And all their other stuff. And that you went and saw a live show.

4. Wonderful Album - Not only is this a fantastic album but Jenny and Tyler are very talented and passionate about their music. I had the privilege to hear them at a house concert which I highly encourage you to do if you get the chance. Faint Not is an incredibly beautiful set of music which will not disappoint. I cannot wait for their next album!

5. Truly Remarkable - I found out about jenny & tyler on NoiseTrade, where I downloaded their live EP and three songs from the Faint Not album. I was presently surprised when I listened to them for the first time and have been loving their music ever since. Definitely awesome both lyrically and musically. Played in my car nearly every time I drive anywhere! :)
2011-11-12
6. Delightfully unique - You won't be sorry, and you won't have anything else quite like this in your collection. This album reflects the strongest work of Jenny & Tyler so far. Having followed them from their earliest songs and shows, I have enjoyed hearing them find their sound and style over time. They've had great songs all along, but "Faint Not" is the best yet.

7. My favorite! - Not only are these two adorable people, but they are so magical when together! I saw the ad for this album on my facebook sidebar, and i love new music, so i checked them out! I was so pleasantly suprised at their duo of voices and passion for the music! I love what Jenny Tyler stand for and what they believe in and HOW THIS ALL SHOWS THROUGH in their music! I couldn't be happier with my purchase of this cd, and I'm glad i can help them prosper in their music by telling everyone i know about them! Such a beautiful album, Jenny Tyler! YOU DID A PHONOMENAL JOB!

8. Love, love, love! - I cannot express how much I love this album. The title track is simply awesome, and changes in meaning for me every time I have a listen. The album is musically brilliant and dynamic. Their love for one another and the Lord is quite evident, and I can't listen to this album (or any other Jenny and Tyler album for that matter) enough. Enjoy!!
2011-11-09
9. Must own! - Jenny and Tyler are amazing people and amazing musicians. They bring forth such a refreshing transparency in each of their songs, and always demonstrate quality musicianship in every piece. Whether you need music to listen to while you study, work, or drive, or if you really just need something to lift your spirits, then this is the album for you! Thank you Jenny & Tyler for your incredible music and ministry!
2011-11-09
10. Thoughtful with depth and a fun, quirky sound - Jenny & Tyler have a way of turning real thoughts that aren't sugar coated and turning them into songs that stick with you through the day. Their sound is full, whimsical and quirky. This album is incredible. I was looking for something that was unique and real... and I found it in this album. Enjoy!

1. Been waiting for this! - I have been waiting for this album since I saw Sleepy Man Banjo Boys on Jimmy Kimmel. I had already purchased the the, "By My Side" and "Run" singles. The rest of the EP delivers. It's different from everything else being dropped by the major lever artist! I hope these guys have a long career and keep the music coming! God Bless!

1. Really great, but... - The album is awesome. The band is great and they're going to be big. The husband and wife duet really well but I must say- when the lady songs solo, I kind of cringe, she's no good. In the future, I really really hope Mr. Miner does all the singing. Great band, very refreshing.

1. Virtuoso Picking - If you love Bluegrass get this album and see these guys play. If you don't know it you like Bluegrass listen to it and you'll be hearing the genre at its best. There are a lot of flat pickers out there but few have the soul of Billy Strings. Don Julin is among the best of the mandolin players in the genre. Combine that with some edgy ,soulful vocals and traditional harmonies and you have one of the best Bluegrass duos since O'brien and Scott. I hope everyone wakes up and takes notice.

1. Great find - I just recently discovered David and I'm so impressed. Another reviewer noted his ability to make vulnerability so relatable and I couldnt agree more. This guy is brilliant at his weakest. He is able to sing slow songs in minor key and yet keeps the songs interesting and engaging. Never boring unlike many of his contemporaries (i.e. William Fitzsimmons). His voice and his approach remind me a bit of Steve Earle at his best. I've always wanted to find someone like Steve Earle, but without the huge amount of throw away songs. I feel like I've finally found that. BTW, Shoeboxes is one of the best songs ever.
2012-10-08
2. Incredibly honest singer-songwriter - Ramirez has a way of writing and performing his uniquely original songs that will connect with every single person who listens to his music. He makes you feel each song. He is a talented multi-instrument wielding force in American music. An artist that will become more well known in the future. With hints of John Prine, Steve Earl, Towns Van Zant, and even a little David Gray in his voice...David Ramirez is sure to blaze a path through American folk music that will never be forgotten.

3. Severely Under appreciated artist/EP - His music seriously makes me cry. Which is big for me. Strange town is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. And the bittersweet lyrics of shoeboxes, "So I suppose you'll be in every song I sing; If not written in my words you'll be hidden in these strings" Just amazing. Seriously, Buy this, you'll love it!
2011-09-26
4. Take A Walk Through Strange Town - Paste Magazine hails David Ramirez as "the best songwriter you don't know yet." I couldn't agree more. With the Strange Town EP, David doesn't disappoint. In five songs, he manages to take you through a journey of reminiscent tunes filled with sultry melodies and honest lyrics. Few people can take the idea of true vulnerability and make it something people can relate to, but David does this easily with flawless simplicity. You will always find something different when David's songs ring from your speakers: uniqueness and authenticity. He doesn't need anything else but his guitar and an honest tongue. From the bluesy roller coaster that is "Wandering Man" to the broken-hearted spirit of "Shoeboxes," Strange Town is the closest thing you can get to a David Ramirez live show, which, like this album, is an experience you won't forget. This is an incredibly personal encounter, complete with the depth and sincerity of a heartfelt conversation. Take a listen...

1. The Spirit of the Lord - I find the songs are intimate and truthful! Some ppl make music b/c they have a drive for it; some ppl make music b/c it's an instrument for what they are passionate about. With this group, I feel confident in the latter! We are blessed by them as they pursue and wait upon the Lord. May we in turn do the same.

1. life we chose - when I saw Jared and the mill perform for the st time, they were promoting this ep. And I fell in love. I bought this ep as soon after I saw them. I love this ep and they are going to get so big and I'm happy to have known them while they are just starting to. I love the band and how sweet they are and I will always put a review for one of my favorite bands.

2. LOVE THEM WITH MY WHOLE HEART!!!!!!!! - This is the best band in the world!!! They have amazing rhythm and energy. They take folk rock to the next level and leave bands like Mumford and sons, and the lumineers in the dust. Shout out to their song Messengers, probably the best song ever written that almost brings me tears every time I listen to it.

3. How did I not hear of them sooner?! - Seriously, these guys are freakin' amazing!!! After seeing them in concert "Life We Chose" became my favorite song. (Good thing I recorded it at the time!) can't wait for the LP to be released. These guys are so talented and they became my favorite band the second I heard them. I tell everyone I know about them. Can't wait to see where these guys go. Keep writing and creating, you guys have big things waiting in your future!

1. Love the Concept - I love the concept of the Vice Quadrant album. There are lots of strong melodies on this record and I especially enjoy the use of leitmotifs. Maybe not my favorite SPG album. There are several tracks I don't care for and the lyrics are occasionally clunky, but overall an interesting listening experience. Favorite tracks include "Steamjunk," "Starburner," "Progress and Technology," "Fire,Fire," "Daughter of Space," "Over the Moon," "Hold Me," and "Oh No."
2020-11-24
2. Just not that good - Of course there are fans who will blindly rate anything SPG does stars. I'm not one of them. The Vice Quadrant Pts & have the same problem many concept albums do, some really great songs with some subpar filler songs mixed in. They seem to have lost something after The Jon and Hatchworth left, and the new members haven't stepped up.

3. An Out Of This World Album! (Space Pun Intended) - Vice Quadrant is absolutely amazing! The story and timeline are extremely intriguing, and adds a lot to the current story behind the bots and the Walters! As a musical theatre aficionado, I love the songs that explicitly try to emulate that feel of listening to a musical, especially Necrostar, The Vice Does Tight, and Hold Me. While I don't recommend this for first time listeners (MK III and Album One are good starters), this is an excellent listen for those who are familiar with the backstory off the band.
2016-08-15
4. Vice Quadrant - I think in this album we can hear a little bit less of The Spine and a little more of David Michael Bennett, as far as inspiration and personality. I can tell it comes to him (relatively) easily, and he does it exceptionally well. I was so lucky to have met them at their show at Old Tucson. David is sweet and absolutely adorable.

5. Not your normal Steam Powered Giraffe - As a huge fan of Steam Powered Giraffe I found that these albums were rather disappointing. It's more of a rock kind of band. However some songs were rather good the rest not my cup of tea. I wanted more songs like from their previous albums. I am hoping that their next one is just like the previous ones.
2015-10-01
6. This was a journey... - I wanted to wait until my twelfth complete listen before reviewing. This album is not just a great Steam Powered Giraffe album, it's just a great album in general. The stories are intricate and even heartbreaking at times. SPG tells three stories, each with their own and interlinking characters. Commander Cosmo's journey into becoming a god-like cosmic being, a poor astronaut kept and corrupted by the daughter of space, and SPG themselves helping WINK the satellite. What I really want to praise is the songs that have nothing to do with the actual stories. The regular SPG songs on the album are just as amazing as the storyline songs. Starlight Starshine, Over the Moon, Star Valley Nights, are among some of the best songs I believe the band has created. This of course doesn't include the amazing songs that are part of the stories like Soliton, Fire Fire, Commander Cosmo, etc. Quite frankly, I like every single song on this album, and that's saying a lot because usually there's one or two I hate on any band's albums. Not the case this time. Steam Powered Giraffe have left what people would consider Steampunk with this album, and I say what an album to do that with. This is the way to do a space opera folks. I, for one, cannot wait to listen to it for the twentieth time.
2015-09-26
7. Back to Story Telling - The Master Story Tellers have revisited their roots and given us a story for well…. story books. While MKIII seemed to focus a bit more on pop songs and less about legends, dreams, heroes, and villeins, we are finally given our fill of tales in this part release. While the songs that are good are GOOD, there are a few that don’t seem to pick up steam (heh). Out of the songs, I only frequently listen to about - of them which is a bit of a disappointment regarding the price for both albums. Either way, its defiantly worth a listen and if audiated epic tales aren’t your thing, you can always but the select few that are great stand alone songs.
2015-09-23
8. The Vice doesn't tight. - Compared to the other albums that Steam Powered Giraffe have pushed out this one was the worst of them all. Not saying this album is bad but it isn't spectacular. While there's a lot of music on the album not a lot of songs have the same quality to them as past albums have. I think they threw together a bunch of songs and called it good. Not much was new in this two part album. I didn't feel a sense of fresh vibes coming from this. It's boring a lot of the times and I kind of wanted to stop listening. Only a select number of songs I really liked from this album were ones like "The Pulls" and "On a Cresendo." I'm afraid for whats in store on this new album I wish this musical project would be even more experimental than before. I loved MK III and that's my favorite Steam Powered Giraffe album. It's sad to see that people call this their favorite album. Overall this album is basically quantity over quality. It's a little boring and needed more variety.
2015-09-22
9. Not Too Bad - As a die-hard fan of Steam Powered Giraffe, I desperately want to give this album five stars, but I can’t honestly do that. The songs are enjoyable on their own (minus one or two), but it’s nearly impossible to piece the plot together on the first listen. I call that bad story telling. This album is pretty much inaccessible to people who aren’t already dedicated fans of the band, because in order to get the whole story, you have to go to Isabella’s Tumblr or be extremely familiar with the fictional timeline and backstory.
As an artist, you have to try to approach your work from the audience’s point of you, and I feel that the band failed completely at that. I fond that a shame, because this album has some truly incredible songs and is very easy to enjoy once you either understand the plot, or give up entirely on understanding the plot.
Also worth noting: I ordered the physical copy of the album so i could have the lyric book and was disappointed to find that some of the lyrics are dead wrong, like no one thought to proofread before printing the book out.
Overall, I like this album, i really really do. The songs are exciting and engaging and are full of that trademark Steam Powered Giraffe silliness. I just wish the band had thought more about the viewers’ feelings and perhaps a little less about their own.

10. Best album yet!!! - I was one of the lucky people to receive the album early and let me tell you, it is my favorite spg album yet! And that's quite a bit to live up to! I love every song on the track list and the skits are amazing with fantastic voice acting! The story is also pretty awesome! Well? Buy it already!

11. SPG CREATED A BEAUTIFUL MUSICAL - this is an amazing album, truly. i knew it was going to be great--the group always is--but i wasn't expecting this. i wasn't expecting this spectacular sound that could rival any broadway musical album. the group wasn't kidding when they said it was like a musical, because it is. a brilliant, gorgeous space opera. i wish i had the time and the space to talk about every single song in detail, but it would be pages. all i will say is that sam luke and the bennetts have truly outdone themselves. this is a fabulous work, and it is worth every penny! i would like to point out my favorites, but it's kind of hard, since they keep changing. originally, necrostar and whale song were my favorites, but now, on a crescendo seems to be in my head more and more. i'm sure that it will be something else next week. but seriously. this is absolutely lovely. thank you, bunny, david, sam, and the rest of the spg crew for a beautiful album.
2015-09-16
12. Speechless - I'm a long time SPG fan and have supported them through every change and growth. But I was honestly skeptical about vice quadrant, being nostalgic for cent show and that being my favorite album of theirs. But I preordered it anyways and went in with no expectations. The day came when I got my album in the mail. I put the first disc in, and laid on my bed not sure what to expect. I was instantly BLOWN AWAY. I was speechless. I loved every single song and immediately replayed part as soon as I had finished it an continued doing so for days before listening to disc . Absolutely gorgeous songs and I felt like I did when I first listened to steam powered giraffe
2015-09-13
13. This is definitely different - I'm going to be honest, my first listen to this album I sort of picked it apart. There was a couple songs I loved but I lot I didn't....but after a rd listen through it has REALLY grown on me, I like it a lot actually. It just took me a bit to adapt. I particularly love "progress and technology" "fire fire" and in the second album "the pulls" and "speed of light". Now one of my favorite albums I own!
2015-09-11
14. It’s space and SPG, of course it’s rad - Amazing. Wonderful. Lovely. Incredible. The songs are good, the story is good, the art is beautiful. I can’t stop listening to it. (I’m newish to SPG - that’s worth mentioning.) If you’re considering, buy now!! You won’t regret it! (And don’t forget there’s a part two! Because it’s got a story, you’ll need that half to try and piece it together.)
2015-09-11
15. Like space? Like musicals? This is the album for you!!! - I hope y’all like space! Not only is there almost two hours of music with both parts of the album, but there is a very distinct story told throughout the album, which is a first for SPG. If you like musical theater, then this is the two part album for you! There are three story lines within both parts of the album that act separately until the last few songs of the album. There are very story-driven songs, full of dialogue and great sound design. There are story-centric songs however that can be taken as stand-alone songs. And there are the non-story songs that are still space themed but don’t play into the main story lines a whole lot. So if you are not super into more theatrical songs, there are still a lot of good music that is less story and more of your typical SPG fare. As always the vocal harmonies are fantastic, the lyrics are whimsical but work well, and a variety of musical styles will guarantee that you will like at least a few of the songs although all of them are musically catchy. Overall this is % SPG’s best album both in ambition, song-writing, and vocal talent and is a must-own for old or new fans alike.
2015-09-10
16. New favorite! - The Show had always been my favorite album, but that's recently changed. VQ has brought a new era unto SPG-one that I'd like to explore. Whatever you thought they were before, whether you thought they sucked or were the worst thing ever...I suggest you take a look at this album. And your opinion will change for the better. The bumps in the road we've had have helped shape this album, and the members we love. I couldn't have imagined anything better than what I took away from this. It's stellar. (Pun intended.)

17. instafav - i don't usually leave reviews on anything. actually this is the first time. but i believe this album deserves it. it is one of the best albums in my entire cd collection. most of which didn't even come with lyrics. i love lyric books. each song is magnificent. i think the use of instruments are very stunning and not over done or too much. theremin violin and trumpets can go a longgg way and easily drown anything out to where it's just a watery mess of bad noise. but spg managed to use the instruments as the sprinkles on top instead of the dough. which is amazing. honestly. they use instruments to accompany their beautiful harmonies instead of drown out or drone about. and if i'm not mistaken there's even a harpsichord in one of the songs. that one weird tinny droney cumbersome cousin of the banjo? yeah. but no. it sounds so beautiful. like a harp. and almost vulnerable sounding. and with sam's voice it sounds nearly angelic. and all the lyrics are so beautiful. they all tell a story. the story turns itself inside out and backwards. and each time you listen to it you find something new that you didn't even know was there. it's hilarious in some parts and really touching and tender in some parts and really terrifying in others. it's a rollercoaster. a perfect little roller coaster that you want to ride times. i love spg because even though what they're doing is pretty absurd they take it seriously. i thought this was going to be a faux-parody-stab-in-the-dark-at-/opera/ but it is not that at all. it's basically a greek tragedy. if you have an empathetic bone in your body and you decide to give this a good listen you will feel love and joy and terror and sadness and distress. everything is so vivid. the harmonies are so tight. the music is just right. i think they really outdid themselves. i was expecting like album one stuff. and i would have been happy with that. but this is more like.. getting a course dinner when you were expecting instanoodles. one thousand gold star plusses.

18. Haters gonna hate - Good thing I'm not a hater ^_^ I love SPG, and this new album just made me fall in love more. With the new characters and the super interesting sound, I think that this album stays very true to the spirit of spg by just being so unique. Everything this band does is so special and quality. I love it.

19. it's okay, don't delude yourself. - most people are probably posting / star reviews because they don't want to let the band down but here's an honest review: it's not the best album ever. it's good, I'll listen to the music, but it's not the best. it's pretty confusing, the plot seems super scrambled, and there's a weird glitch in Starburner. was not worth the hype, all I can imagine when listening to the out of songs David leads in is the weird faces he makes while singing.
2015-09-10
20. Worth the wait - I've been listening to steam powered giraffe for over a year and I haven't even realized it. It just popped up every once in a while on radio and such. I got into them legitimately about months ago and I can't stress enough how much I've loved seeing how much they grew and then seeing this new stuff. My favorite is "Starburner" :) worth the $ to me!!
2015-09-10
21. Passion at its Finest - I enjoyed Vice Quadrant so much! For those of you who don't know Steam Powered Giraffe, they are more passionate about their music and art, more than any band I know! They clearly show their passion, talent, and uniqueness with each individual song! Each song is of fun, catchy, and emotional, story through space! Each song has its own uniqueness, and it hardly falls into a specific genre; you get a taste of many! I am very impressed with how well everything turned out. Not too mention the tones and vocals these three hit in their songs...I'm blown away.

22. Amazing album--totally recommend - This album blew me away. I got it via pre-order, and it was the best money that I've spent all summer. It flows so well, with storylines twisting and intermingling throughout both disks. The characters are funny and their songs tug at your heartstrings in the best way possible.
My personal favorite tracks are "Fire Fire," "Starburner" and "Soliton," but the entire album is worth a listen....or four!

23. Disappointed Jon - I fell in love with the steampunk/vaudeville SPG I miss The Jon.
Clearly this band is now derailed from its original theme. We used up bucks for this :c
It seems like everyone likes it anyways so congrats on that I guess. You guys started off amazingly, but now it's all gone, a hollow shell of what used to be.. Erin, Jon and Michael must be at least a little sad.

24. What a trip - Almost two years ago, I was blown away by the growth this band showed with the refined sound and non-stop fun of MK III, and The Vice Quadrant continues that trend...but on a whole different level. This album is incredible - in terms of technical aspects, like how the sound is put together, and more importantly, in terms of the creativity it shows. The album cover art calls The Vice Quadrant a space opera, and the songs deliver on that promise, much more so than I'd expected when I would listen to the band members talk about how the songs would tell a story. There isn't a single song on here that isn't worth listening to over and over again. The harmonies that define Steam Powered Giraffe are as beautiful as ever, with songs like 'Hold Me' and 'On a Crescendo' in particular tugging at your heartstrings with how beautiful these three performers' voices sound when they blend together. Well worth the money, and I'm more excited than ever to be a fan of this band.

25. Amazing - I was so excited for this album to begin with and hearing it really lived up to all the hype. There aren't many albums where I can say I loved every song but I legitimately can't pick a favorite! It starts off The Vice Does Tight, which is tense and really throws you into the story, and ends with the silly and sweet Whale Song. Between killer vocals and catchy tunes, this album is worth every penny.

26. I Love SPG! - I really love this new album! If your a SPG fan or this is your first time listening to them you won't be disappointed. The songs are all well done and have stories in them and are so unique. Not to mention there's a lot of songs on both albums which is great because We all need more SPG. I'm going to listen to both albums for weeks straight XD

2. Just amazing. - After days of listening to part to take it all in, I finally put in disc . And it did not disappoint. The lyrics are so just amazing and the songs are so catchy and will be in your head for weeks. From start to finish this whole album is nothing short of a masterpiece and my love for SPG has grown even more. cent show was my favorite album and I never thought I'd say this, but the vice quadrant is now without a doubt my favorite. I loved every single song

3. A great ending to a great album! - Part is so good. The perfect ending to the Vice Quadrant. I have to say I adore this whole album because it really shows off how everyone has improved singing wise. Not that anyone was ever bad! They just each got even more talented and even more control. So proud of you, SPG!

4. I love it! - cries forever this cd is seriously a beautiful piece of art. The way it was put together and how all of the songs interact with each other is just incredible. Thank you guys so much for working so hard to make us happy. It's working ^_^ I love the space opera style too, I think it fits well with the old stuff in the way that it's still very creative and different. Keep up the good work, spg, I love you all. :)

5. Talk about Talent! - In Part of Vice Quadrant, many different elements are incorporated. I love the enchantment of "Soliton"! The vocals David uses are spectacular! Sam's song "The Pulls" captures the feeling of gravity and space, and Isabella's song "Hold Me" has so much emotion! I may be a big fan, but Steam Powered Giraffe has such wonderful talent! Not to mention, their funny, quirky audio breaks! Vice Quadrant is a well-rounded adventure through space!

1. You will love him! - After falling in love with the Rooster album by accident I downloaded more DR. This one is my fave but so is Rooster. He is the best writer, his voice is amazing. He does not disappoint. It’s all because of the song in This is Us... the song Fire of Time that I fell in love with DR. After listening to more of his music he is a gem of a perfect writer singer and musician. Love him. Seeing him in concert this summer and cannot wait!

2. American Soil - I've been listening to David's work for years and I speak from experience when I say you WANT to buy this album, no question about it. There is no doubt in my mind that David is the most talented songwriter around. Each track evokes this raw emotion inside of you that you didn't know existed. He has the ability resonate within the walls of your heart all the way through to the goosebumps on your arm. This is guaranteed to be only a taste of what's to come from David in the future. And if this is just a taste, you better undo your belt loop because the next course is coming!

3. American Soil - This album is as honest as it gets. David has the unique ability to convey emotion in his melodies and voice. Every lyric is carefully and cleverly crafted to help tell a story like only David Ramirez can tell. From beginning to end, David lets you in on moments of his life while the music comes alive as the soundtrack to the images he paints in your mind. I highly recommend this album. Don't pass this one up.

4. Masterpiece!!! - this is one of those albums I put in my truck cd player and physically couldn't bring myself to take it out. David's songs are truly works of art, every lyric line, melody, and instrument used make this whole album absolutely incredible. It's rare to find a cd where every song is great, and you can completely relate and feel every word he sings. I would, and have recommended this album to everyone I know.

5. An incredible journey, not once lacking the artist's intention - Few artists, whether them songwriters or painters or sculptors, possess the ability to articulate their thoughts through their specific medium in as an intelligent and beautiful way as David does in these songs. This goes both on an iPod or on a stage. He radiates being both genuine and pure. From the moment the record begins to the last scratch of the seemingly digital needle, Ramirez never let's loose the he has on his passion, or one should say his "burden". THAT burden is what makes this album, and the artist, a true work of art and an overly generous gift to any set of ears. "Deal Me In" is probably most key to the ideology David holds. He makes us as listeners believe and accept that any pain endured in pursuing a dream is well worth the gamble. With songs like "Fires" and "Drunk", he captures both sides of perseverance through love and escaping heartache. "Bloom" is, what I would say, the biggest gem of this album. It shines brightly for not only what Ramirez wrote in this specific song but also for what he accomplished with this record as a whole: being an evolving artist beyond all odds. Lastly, only in this review, "Carry Me Like the Wind" inspires both tired and restless souls to pack their bags whether in mind or closet and head in the direction their heart has been crying so loud to elope. David Ramirez is more than an artist. He's an engineer on a train built through his own blood and sweat. He's the vision we all wish we had in pursuing something we love, be it a goal or a significant other. He's an inspiring songwriter doing what he loves, spreading that loudly, and infecting any person within earshot. Don't pass up this album. You'll deprive yourself of the experience of a lifetime.

I love ya man been listening to you for decades ever since the early 's! this one is ok,.. but id like it more if you sounded like you were into it.

1. One of my Christmas FAVORITES!!! - I love these guys and their arrangements. This album is full of several gems which have become a staple at my home - it is always the first album I play when it is Christmas music time. Their energy is contagious and their music delightful to listen too. Brings the spirit of Christmas right in.

2. Get on board people! - Outstanding! Their love & appreciation of Americana music & hymns is only matched by thier skill & talent. If you want to hear real human voices in harmony and true musicianship on real instruments (not computers making soul-less sounds), than this is for you. They are out of -- every track of every album is sublime! Keep up the great work! God bless!

1. Their Own Sound - Something that has been kind of hard to find in the past few years are bands that have their own unique sound. Thankfully that has been changing and this is one of those bands that has their own sound. I love it, if I had to describe it to someone I guess I would call it sort of surfer folk. I cannot wait to hear more from them!

2. Absolutely Beautiful. - The Good Mad never ceases to create beautiful music. I love every single one of their songs. Every bit of their music is perfection. Trust me when i say, you will never regret buying every song that they've released. These artists' are so expressive and musically gifted; I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

3. Good Mad… SO GOOD! - The first time I heard this band, they played an acoustic set. I was immediately blown away by their harmonies, meaningful and relatable lyrics, and walked away from that show with their melodies stuck in my head for weeks. Their EP, Alta, only enhances these qualities. Their voices blend together just as smoothly as their instruments. Can't wait to hear more from this band!

1. Avalon - Avalon is a mythical paradise Island but these two are anything but islands. I have never heard two people play off each other like Mr Lage and Mr Elderidge. I have played the CD through four times non stop and cannot get enough. The more you listen the more you pick up on the musical subtleties of these incredibly accomplished musician. I hope there is more to come in the future.

2. Outrageously Good - This is a world class recording. Both have distinctive styles that mesh in subtle ways. I'd have a hard time pointing to another recording where there is this high level of musical sophistication that is so easy to absorb. Chris's singing is fine but not as well developed as his guitar skills to say the least - however, he should keep singing. I'd wager it will mature significantly over time! This recording is highly recommended.

1. WOW! - I found out about Paper Bird when a friends mixed CD had Pennies on it. From there on out I have been a devoted fan. I enjoyed the last album..but this new album is truly enjoyable from beginning to end and on repeat- over and over again. It is full of emotion & is the best album to sing your heart out to, stomp you feet, clap your hands, and bob your head to! Great job! Thank you :)

2. Another fantastic album - The maturity of the band over their four albums is magnificent. You can really see the artistic talent of this group. This album exemplifies their folk roots but adds in a little soul to it. The final result is fantastic. Easy listening music with wonderful harmonies. Blood and Bones may just be their best song.

3. Happy songs by happy people - Have seen Paper Bird live a few times... but recently with debut of this album I was blown away. They are magical on stage with their harmonies and trio of lovely ladies leading the front lines. Happy songs by happy people. Hoping these new songs make it far and wide. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

4. things that are lovely: this - I just recently started listening to Paper Bird and have really enjoyed all of their albums -- that said, "Rooms" is, even within the small span of hours, their best. The harmonies and instrumentation shimmer throughout, and the variety of styles on this album surprises and delights without ever losing verve. I can't recommend this album highly enough.

5. Wonderful. - I've been listening to paper bird for a long time now and I have to say this album is one of there best. They have just grown so much and never cease to impress me. 1. Beautiful, powerful, humbling - I just heard of this band for the first time at a women's retreat in Arizona. They performed some classic worship songs with their own personal twist, and closed out each set with an original piece, prefaced by the origins of each song. When I tell you that it brought me to tears, I am not exaggerating! When they sang "circles" all I could do was sit with eyes closed, tears streaming. Their love for God is apparent in their lyrics, and more importantly in the way they interact with each other and their audience. Download this album, lay in the grass, and play it through your headphones. You will be moved.

2. Addictive Alternative Folk Album! - Just listened to this album times in a row and going back for more! Silky vocals, rustic soul-baring lyrics, this lovely nd album features masterful voice and instrumental musicians telling the timeless tales of love and life. This talented group fits right in with my other modern folk rock favorites...Mumford and Sons, the Head and the Heart, and the Lumineers.

1. Worth the Wait - Having grown up listening to Burlap to Cashmere's "Anybody Out There?" I can't tell you how excited I was to hear they were relasing another album after a decade. And it did not disappoint. I don't want to wait another decade for new album, but if it's as good as this self-titled come-back, it would probably be well worth the wait. Good job, guys. And I hope this isn't the last we hear of Burlap to Cashmere.

2. Better with each listen - The more I listen to this, the more I love it. Infused with elements of bluegrass, country, folk, rock and a bit of blues--with some might fine guitar playing--this music is fueled by insightful lyrics with some heady references to Thomas Merton, the book of Nehemiah and other lofty thoughts. This albums becomes richer with each listen.

3. Bob Dylan meets Dave Matthews meets Mumford & Sons - This album is incredible!! Such a shame they aren't as well known as some other bands out there.. They deserve some credit for blending together some of the most haunting melodies, foot-stomping grooves, and all-together some great music!! Only their nd album (first was last 's) so it's been awhile, and when I heard they had a new one out I had to check it out!! If you like Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, Mumford & Sons etc.. then you will LOVE this band!! Check out their first album "Anybody Out There" as well, Saw these guys open for Audio Adrenaline many years back and they were fascinating!

1. Undeniably Touching - True artists delivering emotional javelins through sobering music… Rarely do I hear an album that can cut through all the callous years of painful experiences so quickly. This entire record pulls you down into memories of past hurts, tugs you back up into the hope of a true connection with a future love, and allows you to be completely honest with who you really are. No doubt in my top singer/songwriter list of all time…

2. Pure & Raw - I had seen the film in a private strictly-family viewing over the summer and i was awed. It was all i could really talk about for weeks. Summer has such a pure voice, something that only highlights David's incredible raw one.
My top songs:
. Young Blood
. Proven Me Wrong
. Suitcase
. Argue With Heaven Now don't get me wrong, every song on this record is great, but those are the ones that left me speechless.
I cannot wait for the film to be shown--a film that only makes the album that much better.

3. Music That Makes You Think And Feel - Great music written and performed by some artists that you need to know about. 1. Amazing talent, especially given how hard she had to work for it - Better to let her explain the obstacles she had to overcome. But I just heard heard interview with her, as well as a -song performance on NPR's "All Songs Considered" podcast showcasing her as the winner of the Tiny Desk Concerts. Go give it a listen. Also, she plays and sings on a release with others called "A Murder of Crows" which I just bought on iTunes.

1. Talented - Kinda odd rating these artists when they are far more talented than i'll ever dream of being, but I feel you have to know: I blindly bought this after hearing a clip of their music on Facebook today. Wildflower is great but I wish the other songs were just the instruments as well, not a fan of the vocals. That said, iTunes was not letting me listen before I bought and for $ and some change I said what the heck and made the purchase anyways. I'll keep the music, the vocals may grow on me, but I love their instrumentals! stars for the talent and instrumentals, otherwise i'd give it less because of the vocals.

1. One of the best folk albums I’ve ever listened to! - I’ve been a fan of bluegrass/folk music for some time and I regularly listen to these genres of music when I want to relax. This follow-up album to the Hillbilly Thomist’s first is one of the most enjoyable folk albums I’ve listened to so far! Much like the fervent religiosity of the first album, Living for the Other Side is filled with many original songs that contain biblical references, subtle nods towards the COVID pandemic and contemporary controversies, and even tributes to the Southern Gothic writer Flannery O’Connor. Without a doubt my favorite song is Fr. White’s, Bourbon, Bluegrass, and the Bible and the cover of Hard Times is second to none. Without a doubt this will remain one of my favorite albums to listen to when the weekend hits and it’s time to relax and contemplate.
