Sam Bankman-Fried was at the top of the game. He was a billionaire by the time he turned 30, and the trusted face of crypto with his trading platform FTX. 1. Great show, sexist reviews - Wow, lots of commenters with opinions about a woman’s voice. Grow up. Especially the one saying she is “high-pitched” compared to the MALE host of the Financial Times Briefing. I find this podcast super useful for work. I wish the production was less generic but I realize that’s the case for a lot of daily shows that need a basic format. I’m tired of royalty-free-sounding music playing while someone seemingly reads from a script on every informational podcast. Whatever consultant told y’all to do that lied.
2023-01-27
2. Pacing awkward, analysis surface - Frequently the pacing of guest reporters’ speech is bizarrely slow with toots of awkward pauses. Main host keeps analysis surface level. Would be great to hear something that sounds more like an actual conversation with thoughtful reporting than the current “robots reading cue cards” style - WSJ can do better.
2023-01-26
3. Good content, difficult listening experience. - Longtime listener. Quality and interesting topics. Hosts should be clear speakers to make for a quality listening experience. Speech impediments such as a lisp are difficult to listen to. You would think that would be obvious for a podcast. WSJ poor discretion.
2022-11-07
4. Informative & Brief - An informative podcast with valuable content. My one critique is the voice of the “host,” the high pitch and the consistent uptick in the intonation at the end of every sentence is distracting. Additionally, when “interviews” are recorded it is clear conversations are pieced together to give the image of an interview, but it’s sounds just sown together. See also FT daily briefing for a model. The pitch of the host matters.

5. Tech refresh doesn’t look at facts - WSJ supported by Soros is just a soft left wing outlet. It is full of NeverTrump “journalists”. To prove my point again it spreads information about MRNA shots. Look at increase in heart attacks and cancer rates in the last year. Also, ask some funeral home administrators about increase of young deaths.
2022-02-07
6. How many episodes are “hidden” paid ads - I have really enjoyed this podcast, but over time it seems like more and more episodes are just news stories that are actually paid advertising. It’s becoming more and more frequent that I’m asking if what I’m hearing is a news piece or an ad. There’s also little space in this podcast’s format to pushback in interviews with CEO’s giving a nice sound bite for their company that is ignoring the question they were asked. However, overall it remains a nice podcast that does a decent job of keeping me up to date on certain things in the tech industry.

7. Whoa, “Nellie” - The shows in last couple couple of months continue to lose objectivity. Apply the same rigor to left leaning companies as you do to conservative stories. The most recent broadcast company conducted by Joanna Stern was well below journalistic standards. Ms. Stern has a biased point of view when asking questions to Elon Musk. She obviously believes that the legislation in Congress must pass and how could any company leader be against such legislation. Ms. Stern persisted in her line of biased questioning instead of eliciting more background on why Mr.Musk does not support government intervention in the free market. Disappointing and makes the listener more likely to pass on future segments where Ms. Stern is involved. Please strive to do better.

8. Voicing - WSJ Tech provides excellent reviews of relevant technology that impacts our lives. I have one grievance though. The female reporter, Megan has adopted the fashionable throaty voice of her generation. I doubt it is the natural tone of her voice. The gravel like voice is annoying to hear, muffles her prononciation and so some of what she says I could not understand what word she said. Ditto on raising the pitch of her voice at the end of sentences. It suggests some type of emphasis on the content of the sentence spoken needed to happen when in fact it was just another sentence providing objective content. Sorry Megan, I will turn you off in the future regardless of what you are reporting on. Lose the false voice and get real. I can hear your natural voice and you will sound just fine!

9. I enjoy the program, BUT - It seems that every woman uses various vocal fry speaking patterns which makes them sound far less intelligent than they are. Amanda’s voice is so unusual sounding that if she spoke like that in person, people would instantly tell her to cut it out. Intelligence isn’t enhanced by ending declarative sentences with it sounding like a question, nor using vocal fry. It makes one sound like the proverbial “valley girl”. Again, I enjoy the podcast and the speakers, but for God’s sake, use your real voices and speak like a normal person.

1. Good show, with room for improvement - If only they would stop so rudely cutting off their guests, this podcast would be great....
It’s a huge turn off, unfortunately... More small business focused segments with actual business operators would be very helpful in making the overly macro orientation a bit more practical. Content is generally rich, albeit not as diverse as one would like [different viewpoints would only make the show better]; And why does every guest health expert need to hail from a Bloomberg-sponsored institution ?
Good luck

2. Fix the sound!! - I totally enjoy the format of the show, it’s just too hard to listen whenever there’s someone calling in on the phone! I put up with it because the content was great but I’m tired of it. This isn’t the first review that complained about the sound so it doesn’t seem to be a priority. Please fix it and I might come back!
2022-06-01
3. fix sound - // podcast. fix the sound levels. the difference in sound levels for commercials and speakers is terrible. i can’t hear the speaker so i turn up the sound and then the host talks and he sounds like he’s yelling into the mike. same with commercials, i set the sound level to listen but the commercials are five times louder. very irritating and affects my hearing and also disturbs neighbors.
2022-05-17
4. Wow…does anyone QC these? - First and now also last listen to Businessweek. Audio levels all over the place. Seemingly little to no discipline with the hosts. And the kicker? Cuts off at end with a bonus minutes of silence! Either hire an EP who can listen down before broadcast or kill it. I heard same lack of QC on many other BB podcasts. Time for a new business model Bloomberg.
2022-03-03
5. Report business not political ideology - Total nonsense that women in business today are experiencing “inequities”..Carol Masser should think before she speaks . So I will move on as I want the news to be reality based and not being told constantly that reality - like all my nieces have obtained jobs and are moving up fast while the nephews are overlooked -or my own company interviewed both men and women for a financial job but we knew only a woman would be hired and she was hired -reality seems to be political statements only these days and reality is ignored . Inequities for females ? Please look around at Bloomberg company also ..
2022-02-21
6. FIX YOUR SOUND VOLUME LEVELS - The content of this podcast is above average. The problem is the crazy volume difference between the show and the commercials/intro/outro. You have to crank up the volume to hear the show, then the commercials come in and do permanent damage to your eardrums. Run this through a simple volume equalizer tool and you’ll get more listeners. FIX YOUR SOUND VOLUME LEVELS
2022-01-31
7. Great content, audio needs work - I enjoyed the content from the guest about the National Real Estate Dynamic episode. Unfortunately, I had to keep messing with my volume. A random advertisement started which blared in the speakers so I had to turn it down then back up to hear the hosts to only hear something in the background that kept tapping so it took my concentration off of the content. Then it had a very quick ending to it like it was rushed. Needs work but the content is great.
2021-10-12
8. Audio engineering needs improvement - The content itself is fine. The issue is that the audio levels are geared toward television rather than radio/podcasts. The pre-recorded intros, outros, commercials, etc have a significantly higher volume level akin to television broadcasting commercials at volume higher than programming segments. Since this is typically listened to with headphones, earphones, etc, our ear health needs to take top priority over commercials. Also, whoever reads parts of actual articles is often difficult to hear as his volume is too low compared with almost all other podcasts.
2021-10-11
9. Carol, stop the time pressure - I have been listening for a couple of years and I love the show. Great content, great interviews. Carol Masser: you are incredibly bright and wonderful to listen to. I think you should stop putting a stopwatch on your interviewees. It is your job to watch the clock, but there is no need to share the pressure with your guests. If you have short times, ask questions that precipitate short answers. Thank you for putting on an incredible podcast.
2021-09-24
10. Great Content - Bad production quality - These podcasts have great content, hosts, and guests. Unfortunately, the sound quality is horrible. Hosts are tuned up and almost blare in my headphones/speakers. Guests, most of which are on the phone, are so quiet you have to turn it up all the way to hear them. Even then it’s easy to lose focus on what they say. Its a rollercoaster to listen to as I have to constantly turn the volume up and down depending on who’s speaking. This would be five stars if it wasn’t for the listening experience.
2021-08-12
11. Just an ad - I downloaded this thinking it would be about business. I thought I could get insights about the economy and the market. But this is just an ad… I couldn’t believe it. So dissapointing. The “guest” is someone who bought an ad space and just talks through their sales pitch. Disgusting.
2021-07-19
12. Please fix the audio levels! - Really hard to listen to this via Bluetooth as constant volume adjustment is necessary. Ads blast your eardrums and guests -especially female guests- are barely audible on the phone. Hate having to rewind and listen again for what I missed. Some post-production care, people, please. Equalize the audio !!!!!!
2021-04-11
13. Don’t be on the wrong side of history - Thank you for taking on the subject of GameStop and the recent stock market dilemma. But this episode has shown how little you guys actually research your topics and therefor proliferate the wrong story and facts about what is going on. This episode has been a real disservice to your listeners and your reputation as rational commentators on current issues. It has exposed yourselves as elitists. Just re listen to your episode. A good starting point for your understanding of the situation would be chamath Palihaptiyia’s interview with CNBC. -longtime listener since episode .
2021-01-29
14. Partisan and Biased - Wake up BW. We don’t share your Partisan and Biased views. BW was a magazine I used to read cover to cover, but you have turned it into a NYC liberal advocacy rag that does not reflect the interests of Americans in business. For example, you you didn’t even bother to try to hide your Biden and DNC biases in covering the elections. But most business managers and investors dread the DNC/Biden election as it will destroy the economy and lead to much higher taxes and more costly regulations, just like the Obama-Biden years, but worse. Tell Andy Browne to quit carrying water and kowtowing for China. Send him back to Beijing where the CCP would be happy to add him to their propaganda squad. On second thought, the CCP would probably be happy to keep him at Bloomberg where he can do more damage to the USA. Tell Carol to STOP interrupting everyone. And tell your sound engineer to balance the sound levels through your podcast so we don’t have to keep adjusting our volume up and down. It is really annoying when Carol’s voice comes on at twice the volume of the previous session. And please get rid of Peter Coy and your other partisan hacks. Maybe you can restore your past good reputation and avoid your demise as a failing magazine.

Comments
1. Please Post Promptly - I wish there was more consistency with uploads. The show is once a week YouTube but the podcast version is often posted a week later. Since a lot of this stuff is new related, by the time I hear it it’s already old news. If they can streamline that process I’ll change my rating to five stars.
2023-01-22
2. Lack of a standard - Linus tends to speak with authority on topics he doesn’t fully understand, than when confronted with it he tends to re-explain why he’s “not technically wrong” instead of taking full responsibility. Also Linus tends to speak as if he holds himself to a higher moral standard than most other business owners while doing equally “wrong” practices with his own business. Other than that I love this show and the hosts. If Linus was a little less full of himself I would keep listening. But In the end it’s his show.
2022-05-24
3. Best podcast - I found lot when I was and I’m now they have helped me grow my interest I’m computers. As I am young I have never been able to afford fancy computers like the ones at Lott but years ago I built a th gen system with a micro atx msi pro series motherboard a g gb/s a Intel Celeron and a w psu for bucks which was the biggest purchase in my life.
2022-05-02
4. Great Talkshow for Techie News! - I have never listened to podcasts until I discovered Linus and his YouTube channels. I’m trying to get into learning the ins and outs of computers from what their parts are named to how they work. I discovered the WAN show but I could never have the time to watch the video. When these guys mentioned they upload their podcasts, I was SO happy to see they upload them here! Now I can drive my hour to work and get some knowledge in when it comes to the newest changes to certain brands and technologies (and other random bits of information from games to movies). I might now know yet what certain things mean (like why things like graphics cards have so many numbers and letters in their titles), but my knowledge is growing little by little every day, and I’m just so happy to listen to these podcasts while I drive to and from work. Keep it up WAN show!

5. A great show to catch up to all the tech news - I’ve been listening to this show for a while on YouTube and I love it. It’s a great show/podcast to listen to catch up on all the tech news and things that are going on. The hosts are great to listen to and give good perspectives on the current events. Even better if you can watch the video. I love listening to this show on car drives.

6. LMG - My Favorite Tech Content, but when will we get Video Uploads on here? - Linus Media Group has some of my favorite Content on the Internet. From their Forum to their many YouTube Channels (Channel Super Fun is Back BABY!) their Sub-Reddit and of course this Podcast. They are my number one source for PC/Gaming Related News. I would recommend this to anyone, even if you don't watch the YouTube Channels or even if you have never seen a single video. You will still follow along and still have a fun time. My only problem here is that they don't upload a Video Version of the Podcast on iTunes or any other Podcast App. I want to be able to watch it PiP (Picture-in-Picture) on my iPhone or iPad without a stupid YouTube Premium account and would love to download it for watching in places with crappy service (work) or to not blow my mobile data. Really its fine and % of the time it doesn’t make a difference and Audio is good enough. Sometimes though they refer to something on screen or Test results or a Graph and not being able to look at that is bothersome. In a lot of cases if I really care about the subject, I catch myself pulling up the YouTube video just to see it. I really hope they decide to upload the video version on here or even another Podcast App. Thanks for the many years of laughs and education. Excited for LMG’s Future.
2020-06-28
7. Should be a video podcast - Hey you already do it on youtube why not just upload the video here? I gave three stars because they point out many things out at a non existent screen. And if you say then just watch youtube? I could have the video in picture in picture in the ipad in the podcast app and not in the youtube app even if I pay premium. So... please upload the video here just like you do in youtube.

Named after Charles Babbage, a 19th-century polymath and grandfather of computing, Babbage is a weekly podcast on science and technology. Comments
1. New changes feel a bit overproduced - There have been some changes to Babbage and Money Talks, adding more sound effects and focusing on a single theme in each show. I like the focus; before each episode felt like a summary of what I had already read in print. The effects feel very much overproduced. Babbage is the worst offender of these. These need to be toned down. “Checks and Balance” and “To A Lesser Degree” are the best Economist podcasts (IMHO) because of the depth, chemistry between hosts, and classic Economist insight. I’d like more of these aspects brought to Babbage and Money Talks.
2022-02-12
2. Excellent podcast for anyone who appreciates science and technology! - The Economist produces many fine podcasts that complement their world-class magazine, and this is the finest of those! I like Babbage above their other fine offerings due to their focus on science reporting. There are mercifully few adds, evocative introductions, and stellar substance within each well-selected topic: check it out and you will have no regrets!
2022-01-09
3. Focus on technology, not ideology. - The title says it all. If you’d stop the focus on ideology and bias unless there’s actually a real, legitimate case of bias present, that’d be fantastic. I’ll still keep an eye on your show, since I do enjoy the rest of it, but I’m not recommending it to anyone until this nonsense stops.
2021-04-08
4. Used to be -star - More variety needed - I recommend you go back to the format of covering topics that are quite different. Be sure each topic has “Wow!, I did not know that!" elements. You have such big brains there at the Economist. It should be very doable. Do less AI and less global warming. Both are interesting, you just do it too often.
2020-03-07
5. Fascinating! - I drop everything else to listen to Babbage as soon as it’s published every week! Ken has a fascinating way to delve into science and technology subjects that makes it addictive to listen to. I particularly enjoy the episodes dedicated to a single topic (the last one on AI was epic). So Ken, if you ever split Babbage into Babbage News and Babbage Themes, you’ve got a first subscriber here. And lastly, I really like your weird intonations, and believe it or not, I also find your jokes very funny ;)
2020-02-06
6. Excellent science reporting - I have tried many science podcasts but this one is the best. It covers all manner of news in science & technology, and contains great reporting and/or interviews with the people involved. It's very informative and interesting, and somehow still only about minutes long. Love it.
2019-08-21
7. Accessible, Interesting, Fun - I’ve been an Economist listener and a Baggage listener for a few years and can say that I have yet to find another podcast like Babbage. It presents new scientific discoveries in biology, technology, astronomy, etc. in a manner that is very easy to understand and that is fun to listen to. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening as well as hearing the hosts rise through the ranks over the years! Thanks guys!

1. Spectacular podcast - I love this podcast series. Such great stories and insights about Amazon. For the record, I’m a big fan and happy customer of Amazon. I also am a fan of Jeff Bezos. We may not like some of his approach but he and the Amazon team literally invented cloud computing, and I don’t think they get as much credit on that fact as they should. Anyway, I refer this podcast to my friends. It’s riveting.
2022-04-25
2. Aspects of the Story Missing - While the Amazon season provides interesting insight into Jeff Bezos’s hand in Amazon’s rise to extreme market domination at all costs, it lacks in several aspects. I was quite surprised the podcast makes no mention of the antitrust litigation (previous and pending) against Amazon’s marketplace. The allegations are quite credible and serious. Additionally, there’s no mention of Amazon’s controversial state sales tax practices with regard to the marketplace. These, to me, are proof that Amazon does not have people’s best interest at heart and also get at the issue of Bezos’s personal wealth. Instead, we get a whole episode about Bezos’s affair and the weird conspiracy theory pushed by Bezos himself, likely as a media distraction. Quite disappointed about that. I would’ve rather heard more about Mackenzie Scott and her experience at Amazon in the early days and being married to Bezos.
2022-04-17
3. Started Strong, Ended Weak - The compelling initial revelations of the extent of Amazon’s ruthless attitude towards the people whose unacknowledged phenomenal hard work made it all succeed just trickles off into trite, repetitive cliches about what a selfish guy Bezos is. Should have carried that initial compelling approach through the end; the last several episodes communicate nothing we haven’t heard a thousand times already via every major news outlet’s hastily assembled evening news soundbites.
2022-04-14
4. Why the hate - Listening to season one and I don’t understand why she hates Adam so much. I don’t know the guy maybe I should hate him too but she never gives me reasons. She just talks about what a jerk he is… but not obvious things. “Oh he said the right things but didn’t mean it” how does she know? Seems like she has an axe to grind.
2022-03-11
5. This Amazon story is very impressive - I listened to episodes and and the story is very impressive.
Amazon is the company that has the greatest impact on our lives today.
I want to know how this company is run, the story behind the scenes, especially the working environment of the employees, and how they feel.
I will definitely continue to follow the story to the end.
2022-03-10
6. Finally someone is talking about this. - I feel like TikTok’s dark side is something everyone knows about, but no one acknowledges, and it bothers me. Such an amazing series, I love the direction that Shelly and the team are going. Keep exposing what needs to be exposed. No one better to team up with than Dawn!
2021-05-07
7. Stellar insight into the world of TikTok! - Host Shelly Banjo provides incredible insight into the story behind TikTok. The storytelling hooks you and develops beautifully. Shelly had a way of weaving together the characters masterfully. The sound editing is fantastic, as well. I can’t wait for the next episode!
2021-04-29
8. An Exciting and Sensational Ride - Foundering has been a truly eye-opening podcast. I thought I knew a bit about TikTok. I get sent videos every so often or I’ll hear about it in a celebrity story. But, I barely knew any of what I heard in these first two tantalizing episodes. There is so much behind this worldwide phenomenon that we didn’t hear about in the U.S. and Shelly Banjo’s capable, lighthearted and informative narration helps us understand this fascinating tale. I can’t wait for more!
2021-04-28
9. Former WW Employee - I worked for this ridiculous company for years, she nails the reporting, but it was actually even crazier than she got into. The amount of money wasted was spectacular, they rented MSG for days & flew the entire company to NY so that the narcissistic execs could feed their egos. Also Rebecca should have been highlighted more, she was a lot more responsible for some evil things that went on. Also, working at this company during the metoo era was insane. While I absolutely believe there was legit harassment, amidst all the chaos for Adam’s attention, there were several cases of sociopathic women throwing wrongful accusations at men who were later proven to be innocent.
2021-03-21
10. Don’t drink the Kool-Aid! - For what little I knew about the Fall of the WeWork IPO, I wasn’t sure what to expect of the Foundering podcast. Having binged all of the episodes in less than days, I was pleasantly surprised. A. By the amount of quality content involving people who experienced and suffered for dealing with Adam Neumann and B. By how easily we can be misled purely because of another person’s charisma. Very good reporting on a somewhat tragic tale of our times: so long as the surface looks good, we don’t worry so much about the due diligence.
2021-01-17
11. Middle of the Road Storytelling - The storytelling is okay, but dead set at telling the history of WeWork from a certain perspective. I get it, this isn’t actually a podcast about WeWork—it’s about Adam, the founder, on a podcast called “Founder-ing”. For me, the “taking-sides” perspective is always a letdown. Coupled with the naive interviews of ex-employees that don’t understand that being on salary means you don’t get paid overtime… there’s just a lot of disappointment and frustration as the series goes on. Worth a listen. Maybe. Are there too many episodes. Definitely.
2020-08-10
12. Well done - Really enjoyed this podcast. I think they did a good job of looking at the situation from various perspectives and weaving a clear narrative. The reviews that call the employees whining are missing the point. This podcast is called foundering because it is about the founder, and showing the stark difference between that founder and his employees is an important piece of the story. Overall a good listen.
2020-08-06
13. Listen with an open mind and enjoy - The sound quality and story telling in this podcast is second to none. Many rate the employees as “whining” when they complain about excessively low pay/odd job requirements. The point this podcast makes is comparing these requirements—some very serious with the CEO admitting to underpaying employees—with the overarching goal of WeWork to the outside world and within the company’s own culture. To say that the story of these young employees takes away from the podcast is a gross misunderstanding of a pivotal moment in technology and a failure to see the forest from the trees.
2020-08-01
14. Well done! - I’ve been following the WeWork saga for a while, especially after my former employer was inspired by the WeWork mantra. This podcast did an excellent job discussing the rise and fall of WeWork - why it became so big, what was at stake, and who really benefited from the unicorn dream - and it was done with sensitivity to the people who invested time, money, and their future in this dream. I was actually sad when the podcast came to an end. I’ll look forward to the next season.

1. Decent if Limited Tech News Torpedoed by Insufferable, Endless CryptoBro Scam Discussion - Does a decent job of covering tech topics in detail, however his self interest in crypto causes him to shoehorn nonstop crypto talk into every show even though the rest of the world has already figured out it is all a scam and has moved on. Suggestion- Hire an outside editor to remove your inane segments attempting to legitimize the next new dumb NFT/Web scam in each episode before publishing. They could hand back the episode with your crypto rambling still intact, making you feel you’ve done your part to keep drawing in more rubes to lose their money, while the rest of the world is safe from your own misguided crypto cult self interests. Kind of like a self imposed Podcast shadowban.

2. Great Podcast. One petty request.. - I know you can’t possibly know all the pronunciations of everything but thing stands out a lot - Xiao Mi. Or any Chinese that starts with “X”. Please don’t say it like “Jiao” Mi. Just say it like how it’s spelled. The podcast today is full of Xiao Mi news today and I can’t stand it anymore sorry.
2022-12-12
3. Interest But Odd - The boys discuss a wide range of tech topics. As a non tech person who enjoys knowing. They really open the door to the world of tech with extra emphasis on startup ecosystems and cultural transformations led by tech. They can get a bit clumsy and out of their element when stretching outside of tech. And for a tech podcast, they have the worse possible audio connections. Audio drops, feedback, and hot mic eating noises abound. I’ll keep listening to know more, but they have work to do.
2022-07-08
4. Not really a tech podcast anymore - As of late I'm fatigued by this podcast's constant spam stories about NFTs, "investing," VCs, startups, and tech-bro culture. This is not what a tech podcast should be all about. Please reign it in and discuss real objective tech news as opposed to the "Silicon Valley culture" side-stories.

5. This is for you if you want someone to say BORED APE a hundred times an episode - This guy gets fixated on some phrase BORED APE and just repeats it BORED APE over and over BORED APE again. BORED APE. He will do this for weeks BORED APE on end BORED APE and will just keep saying the phrase BORED APE even when it is unnecessary BORED APE. His sentences BORED APE don’t even make sense anymore BORED APE. Additionally, BORED APE, the thing he glams onto is invariably some new form of jackassery BORED APE that everyone will have forgotten about a month from now, like BORED APE. Then he makes it the BORED APE lead story, while everyone else is laughing at the fools who fall for this BORED APE scam. It kill’s me that a grown man falls for this kind nonsense over and over. Get medicated, dude.
2022-03-19
6. Sadly no longer worth the listen - As a long time ride home listener, it’s pretty sad to see what’s become of the podcast. Instead of reporting actual tech news, it’s daily updates on sideshow Twitter disputes buffeted by a massive amount of advertisements. The podcast now misses both the forest and the trees by, when not consumed by the most recent inane personality driven non-event, by devoting most coverage to the perpetual next big thing, from clubhouse to venture capital to crypto and NFTs, with copious and extremely blinkered and Ill informed editorializing. I can’t help but notice that the precipitous decline in quality happened around the same time as Brian started tinkering with new show formats, monetization schemes, and finally a VC fund. On the lookout for a decent replacement now.

7. Used to Be Good - This podcast used to be so good. It was a great summary of “what you missed today in the world of tech.” Now they litter the feed with long rambling recordings of Twitter Spaces (complete with technical difficulties and terrible audio quality) and schill investment opportunities. It’s not just a lack of focus. They polled their listeners to see if people wanted this other content in a separate feed, which of course the overwhelming majority did. They then went ahead and continued to dump this crap in the main feed anyway. This blatant disrespect for their listeners’ preferences and time has me looking for another source for tech news.

8. Pronouncing Chinese names correctly, please!!! - I thoroughly enjoy your podcasts daily, for many years. Enjoy it all, except when you mentioned any Chinese tech companies or executives’ name, that is. It’s excruciatingly incorrect and appalling whenever you confront ‘X’ or ‘Y’. Xiaomi, Xi Jinping, Eric Yuan, Jerry Yang, and numerous examples. Please please please, if you can’t quiet master mandarine, how about just saying it in the most simplified (but close) way by pronouncing ‘x’ as ‘s’ in ‘sea’ and ‘y’ as in ‘yellow’? Thank you for all your other relentless, complete research for a daily comprehensive, enjoyable coverage!

9. Ad experience makes it a terrible podcast - I would have definitely rated it higher because I like the content, but the ads running for mins straight in the middle of a podcast is annoying. If smaller ads were spread out or all ads moved to the end which could easily be skipped, the experience would be better. Plus the guy hates apple too. Quite evident from his podcasts.
2021-06-08
10. Top source for Tech News - If you need a concise breakdown of the day's technology news, this is it! While there are some excellent daily tech news podcasts out there that explore stories in more detail, usually with lots of opinions...this podcast gets right to the stories that matter most. And the host (Brian) will pull in different points of view to each story, bringing more context and though, versus opinions and rants. In the years of listening to various podcasts, I never skip this one.
2021-02-03
11. An open door to tech news - Brian does an excellent job of whipping up fresh content you can’t find elsewhere. The unique blend he publishes is interesting for newbies, wannabes, and weathered Silicon Valley types alike - and he’s easy to listen to too! Tech Meme Ride Home is not overly complex, overly long, or overly fluffy. I don’t like to waste my time so this has been the tech industry podcast for me. I’m really excited to see Brian expand into other formats of conversation and deep dives so I’m now a premium member. I highly recommend it!
2021-01-27
12. Compelling Current and Cogent - As a technology executive and tech enthusiast just, Techmeme Ride Home is the one podcast I make sure I listen to every single weekday every week. There are a variety of tech podcasts out there but I find this one to really be one of the absolute best. Technology has integrated into all aspects of our life and I think Brian does an excellent job of communicating that in the right context. Sure he’s got gadgets reviews but he’s also got the aspect of companies and their strategies and how they are transforming marketplaces and how those transformations drift over from just a tech business to the broader world because they’re having increasing impact on our daily life as well as the political climate we find ourselves in. Making sense of all of that in a cogent and concise manner is not an easy thing to do and Brian has done an excellent job of it. Highly recommend and well worth listening to.
2020-11-09
13. Daily comfort - Brian is a great host. He’s completely politically impartial, which is difficult to find these days. He also has a great podcasting voice: if there is a stand-in, I literally get disconcerted because I don’t hear Brian. He’s also a master at distilling down the important stuff and giving you a concise, smart mins of tech news. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.

Comments
1. Big Tech Made Conversational - Alex’s podcast features the most high-profile guests from the tech community. They — and Alex — with his few (love that - a host who lets the experts take the lead!) simple yet strategic questions, break down what few truly understand. I read the likely tech news outlets as my “primer,” then, come here to learn more about specific topics that I want to better understand like the latest Ai-fueled newsfeeds, listen to completely different POVs among engineers who create the products. This podcast is pretty “special.”
2023-03-23
2. A Must Listen! - This podcast is a must-listen for anyone who wants to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to the future of technology. Alex masterfully guides listeners through the latest insights from engaging guests, and every episode leaves me with a new perspective to ponder long after they end. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or simply curious about the ever-evolving role of technology in our lives, this podcast is an excellent resource. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay informed and inspired!
2023-03-20
3. Must listen! - Regardless of your perspective regarding big tech - Alex is a can’t miss resource and guide! He curates conversations - and topics - with a depth, breadth and energy that only someone truly committed to unpacking the nuance of big tech’s role in our world can. Highly recommend listening and subscribing!
2022-11-09
4. I don’t miss an episode - Alex’s depth of reporting experience shows in his ability to ask hard hitting questions. I like that I can never really tell exactly where he stands on issues. It keeps the episodes honest and nuanced. Often while I am listening I think “that is exactly the question I was hoping you would hit them with”. Unquestionably one of the best interviewers in tech.
2022-08-15
5. Hilarious - Listening to the most recent episode about Musk buying Twitter and the pretzel-twisting failure you two did to explain it was hilarious. You know exactly why he’s buying it: Twitter censors speech. That frustrates Musk and more people than you’re willing to admit on your stroke-cast. Good luck with your line of thinking.
2022-04-06
6. Nuanced and Informative - I heartily recommend adding Alex Kantrowitz’ Big Technology to your must-hear podcast shortlist for many reasons. . Big Technology is always insightful and informative, thanks to highly knowledgeable guests
. Alex’ podcast is not just about Big Tech (as if that isn’t interesting enough) but also sprinkles in topical discussions on the economy at large and geopolitics
. This is big… unlike other unnamed podcasts (but you know who they are) Alex guides his guests to explain complex topics by asking the kind of questions we all have, rather than questions designed to make him look smart. He’s also not afraid to interject his opinion on occasion, but does so in a way that helps convey the nuances associated with complex tech issues.
. …And did I mention Alex’ calming, mellifluous podcast voice? Sign up for Big Technology! You’ll be glad you did.

7. Insightful and Thoughtprovoking! - First time listener! Thoroughly enjoyed the discussion with Brian Morrissey about the move away from writing for algorithms and the creator economy. I hadn’t really considered the scaling problem that will come for content creators who build relationships with their audiences - there’s only so much “personalization” a machine can do to build an authentic connection. Looking forward to listening to more of your podcasts which are now part of my regular rotation.
2022-03-02
8. A nuanced, actually balanced take on Big Tech - I appreciate that Alex is attempting to do something rare in the marketplace: provide a “cool-headed, nuanced look” at the technology-based forces that are shaping our world. He has his biases and assumptions, but they come from being a sharp observer of the space, with access to some of the most importa’t voices in the field. I'm a faithful listener, and appreciate his efforts to go beyond the gotcha headlines to get into the meat of the matters around regulating, breaking up, and possibly reigning in, Big Technology.
2021-08-15
9. Conversations erudite and thought-provoking, bringing many concepts into laymen’s terms - Since subscribing, I have enjoyed playing catch up with past episodes while staying up on recent uploads, all the while learning, laughing, definitively not laughing, and challenging myself to go deeper into my understanding of the topics brought forth in each conversation. I cannot recommend enough giving any of these a listen. Thank you!
2021-02-06
10. Unique Perspectives - Alex has great first hand experience with the major technology companies. His depth in technology, his practical approach and his incredible network being a unique perspective to the societal, business, political and cultural implications for technology. This podcast isn’t for the traditional technologist but rather for those looking for the bigger implications of technology on the world. This one is a can’t miss weekly for me!
2021-01-29
11. Made my head explode...with pleasure! - What’s not to like? Alex is a super-intelligent, compelling host with the silky-smooth voice of a late night public radio personality. He knows tech, Silicon Valley and the business world more then any journalist I’ve heard. He gets great guests and asks insightful questions. I would give this podcast stars if I could.
2020-10-24
12. Alex being Alex. - If you liked his smart takes @buzzfeed and find his newsletter a solid read in your inbox, then subscribe. If not, surprise yourself and listen anyway - it’s a humble, inquisitive and pointed approach to unpacking what is the what in Tech and society with the brightest voices steering the conversion today.

1. Keep on topic and stop the rambling - I really like the Pod but in my opinion it needs better structure. Give me the James Wong approach: factual (or, could be opinion) that is straight forward, articulate and direct. Stop the rambling. One member of the pod has some interesting perspectives but he rambles on and I lose interest. Perhaps some pre thought and preparation would help. Appreciate Dane and his no nonsense approach to varied topics.

2. STARS - Can we leave nasty comments as long as we give a star review? D. Rome, have you tried the ProBikeGarage app? I use it for keeping track of which of my chains are in need of wax. It logs the miles on each bike via a sync w/Strava and gives you maintenance warnings. My issue is making sure I change my bike on Strava. It’s not without its quirks, but I find it helpful for keeping track of tires, chains, chainrings and cassettes.

3. Great Cycling Tech Podcast from the Best in the Business - Until I started listening to this podcast I hardly knew which end of my imitation Park Tool hammer to use to knock my derailleur into alignment. Now I know, and my life is forever enriched for this knowledge. The crew at Geek Warning provides an honest and “unsponsored” forum for bike junkies needing their next tech fix.

4. Great content - Great crew, good listening. Please keep the volume of your speech level. You sometimes drop into a muffled mumble often in a long, winded sentence when you’re making a key point, then pick up volume again at the end with an exclamation. Makes it hard to listen to, at least in a car. Please and thank you. Really enjoying the content.

5. Bike tech geeks assemble!!! - The band is back together! If you are into bike and tool tech (a long with a heavy dose of sarcastic humor) you are in the right place. The crew gives their honest opinion about the industry; good and bad. However, if your main tool is a hammer and WD- is your lubricant of choice this might not be your podcast. Or, maybe it is since the crew is more than willing to coach your through updating your toolbox and methods.

6. So happy to have this “back” - Yes it’s a new podcast, but after Outside did all the worst things and decimated CyclingTips, I’m super, super happy to have the spiritual successor to the old podcasts available. Only two episodes in but I’m already quite sure these guys are going to do great things. Call it a hunch based on past performance.

2. Love this Podcast! - This podcast is informative and wonderfully produced. Dina Templeraston is such a brilliant professional and so pleasant to listen to, as her storytelling abilities are among the very best out there today. I appreciate to way that Click Here humanizes the stories relating to events online and really brings me in touch with what is happening. Thank you Click Here show - keep up the great work!
2023-01-18
3. Like a perfectly balanced cocktail - Each episode I’ve listened to keeps me wanting more! I love the way they are segmented, and host Dina’s flow is unmatched. You might expect the subject matter in the world of tech news to be ‘by the techies for the techies’ but it’s so well versed for the everyperson that this is now one of my most anticipated weekly podcasts!
2022-05-30
4. Way to go! - “Click Here” provides the type of information and intelligent conversation I wish my parents had at the dinner table. Dina is a master at what she does. Her ability to put people at ease during her interviews and relay the information to her listeners in a meaningful and comprehensive way is a wonder to behold.

5. Great Cybersecurity Podcast - As someone who doesn’t have a major back in cybersecurity, I’ve fallen in love with this podcast. The episodes are easily digestible and follow major/current events going on in the world today. The guest speakers have great insight into the impact made by technology, and I’m always excited to see what they’ll comment on next.
2022-05-24
6. Voice actor Dave Bittner - I do not recommend taking Dave bittner seriously. He has never been a member of the DOD or any other Gov organization. He does not, has not and will never hold a security clearance of any kind, he routinely makes legal comments concerning government policy, Dave bittner knows nothing about espionage, or any other actual actionable intelligence. He’s a d-grade voice actor, people who take advice from him are the reason for solar winds success.

Comments
1. Hard No! to Richard Campbell - We’re witnessing the death of once great podcast and really, I think, of a podcast network. Welcome to old guys talking about random stuff. The worst possible choice to replace Mary Jo. This podcast was already pretty much unlistenable without Mary Jo Foley. Now it has tipped the scales entirely. Every show on Twit has become nothing but inside baseball. I don’t think they care about being interesting or on topic anymore.
2023-01-12
2. Depressing Weekly - Like others have said, this show is really depressing. Leo barely pays attention, Paul rants, and Mary Jo nods. It wears. There’s not a better over-arching Microsoft podcast out there, which is also quite sad. I’ve listened for years because there’s content in the middle of all the negativity, but it’s time to move on and get my MS content elsewhere. You really have to be a masochist to stay subscribed and listening.
2021-12-26
3. Most depressing show on TWIT - Every topic is created by a sigh, a complaint or an excuse about why the Windows / Microsoft world is this terrible. I can’t believe you’ve had the careers that you have, feeling so dispassionate. I don’t think we are looking for journalists to be cheerleaders, but this show is simply depressing. I wanted to broaden my knowledge of the Windows world for work but can’t do it. I’m out. I wish you happier lives.
2021-11-13
4. Great show for bedtime listening! - This is a show like none other. Most of the show is made up of ASMR-style sighing and awkward, drawn-out pauses. Mary Jo’s “yep”s throughout the show are her primary contribution to the conversation, and slowly lulls you to sleep. Paul’s knowledge is evident but his highly dispassionate style and constant sighing shows he’s incredibly bored (or maybe frustrated) by Microsoft. Leo Laporte seems equally bored and drones quietly into the mic. The whole thing has me snoozing in no time. In all seriousness, all of the above is absolutely true. Why do these hosts seem so annoyed by the subject they’re covering? If these people want an example of a good tech show they should listen to any Jupiter Broadcasting Linux show. At least they sound interested in what they’re saying.
2021-11-06
5. Leo should give up on being host - Overall the podcast is informative, but should probably be around half an hour with an option to run longer of many things are happening. Way too many / too long ads, but that is not unique to this podcast. Most importantly Leo often seems distracted or checked out. It would probably be better if he replaced himself with one of the temporary hosts while traveling.
2021-09-23
6. Need a new host - Paul is like a black hole of negativity. All he does is complain…about everything. He loathes Apple to his core so if that subject comes up that is what you get. Marry Jo needs to distance herself from both Paul and Leo who is just a mess. This pod cast is about Windows beta builds and negativity. Leo hates Windows but I guess this pod cast brings him some $$$…maybe??? Would I recomend this to a friend…NO WAY.
2021-05-02
7. My Favortie Podcast - Windows Weekly is one of my podcasts. I have listened to it for over a decade and found the information useful to my job as an IT manager of Microsoft technologies. I learn something new in every podcast from Leo, Paul, and Mary Jo. I highly recommend the podcast for anyone that wants to know the latest about Microsoft.
2021-01-23
8. Current Windows updates - I am a Mac user primarily in most of my work, but I do have a Surface Pro and run Windows in a Parallels VM on my MacBook Pro. I have read and enjoyed Mary Jo and Paul for years. They are a calming force in the technology world which is chaotic at times. I look forward to the beer picks of the week as well.
2020-05-28
9. Mikah Sargent is Ruining This Show - I really have enjoyed listening to this show to hear Mary Jo and Paul’s perspectives on what’s going on with Microsoft and the Windows platform. While it’s good to get an outsider’s perspective (I think Leo plays a solid outsider/devil’s advocate part), Mikah brings a level of ignorance to the show that grinds the entire show to a halt. I’ve given it two chances now and each show he has been the host, he’s ruined the show. He’s clueless and unprepared about the entire subject matter.
2019-10-26
10. The Good, Marginal, Bad - I’m largely a Mac “snob” and prefer not to run Windows; however, I do listen to Windows Weekly because I enjoy a) keeping up to date on the goings-on in the Windows part of the word, and b) I find this to be one of the superb podcasts on the ‘net. The Good: I enjoy Leo, Paul, and MJF. I love the depth and breadth of content they cover, and it make the miles of driving tick by so much faster. The Marginal: The show has a tendency to get “into the weeds” at times, losing focus on what the topic of the show was supposed to be about. % of the time, it works, and is entertaining; however, that % of the time, especially when Leo is out, gets old…fast. The Bad: Leo goes on vacation, the show loses the magic.
2019-10-13
11. Too long, - This program seems to have lost it's way. Way too long; lots of TWITty distractions; beer recommendations; gossip which may or may not be true; and overlong always best thing since sliced bread ads. The program is mainly gossip about the latest Microsoft missteps--Foley does on occasion offer good enterprise info. Not particularly useful for users. Can get more by scanning the various Microsoft oriented tech sites for minutes.
2015-09-13
12. Terrible hosts - The lady host doesn't use computers or tablets or phones. She tells you over and over all she uses is Notepad and drinks beer. Ask her about phones she knows nothing, talk about Xbox and she complains, talk about using a touch screen and she complains. What a bore. The male host is very dumb. I wonder if Paul even has a GED. He gives the most idiotic uninformed opinions. He constantly cheer leads dumb things at Microsoft then a year later when they fail he pretends like he was always against it. Paul is absolutely obnoxious and doesn't realize how old and out of touch his opinions are. He must think his listeners are very dumb and don't remember how much he loved and praised Windows and Vista. The show is a waste of time for everyone.
2015-07-24
13. The absolute best podcast for Microsoft news - I have listened to this podcast every week for several years now, and I am continually impressed by the knowledge, analysis, and insight that Paul and Mary Jo share on the show. These two are THE experts in all things Microsoft. Leo is the host and often the devil's advocate. I recommend this show to anyone who is interested in Microsoft. The conversation may get more complex than you may want, but Paul and Mary Jo can make even the most complex topics accessible to non-tech people.
2015-07-21
14. Suffers From TWiT - It’s obvious that both Paul and Mary Jo work hard to bring quality content to listeners of the show. Leo however has only become a distraction for the show. He adds a bit of witty banter, but that’s about it anymore. It’s clear he does not even listen to what they say, often bringing up a topic right as it is just finished being discussed. Sadly Leo no longer has the passion for his job that he once had and it shows throughout the network. “What the Tech” is a great alternative featuring Paul. Unfortunately Mary Jo is not a regular on it. If she were, there would be no reason to listen to Windows Weekly at all anymore.
2015-05-29
15. If you have to keep up with Microsoft... - I'm not the biggest fan of Microsoft, but I want to keep up on them as they're still a giant segment of consumer technology. Leo, Mary Jo, and Paul make Microsoft news interesting! Paul's commentary in particular is very genuine; he's no fanboy, he's harder on MS than anyone.

Comments
1. Great guests, hopeless host - I hate writing a title like that but Peter Kafka is so weak. I find him impossible to listen to and I really would like to listen to the topic and the guest. Today, I psyched myself up to listen to the De La Soul episode and he just sounded like a fool. For example implying that getting authorization for sampling other artists music is only a recent thing and De La soul were not really to blame. Copyright law has been around forever and Peter works in media. He should know this in order to do his job properly. The guest Golnar Khosrowshahi had to keep correcting him. Peter may say.. 'I was trying to explain it to folk how may not know this stuff’ or ‘I’m deliberately playing the fool’ but that’s not the audience for this podcast and it’s disrespectful to the guest. He’s excruciating to listen to, every time. He’s droning in the background as I write this.
2023-03-07
2. THE BEST! - The best podcast for covering media businesses, hands down. Excellent interviewer. Knows what he’s talking about (which is rare) and has guests who do too. Don’t listen to the negative reviews here. Not exactly sure where they’re coming from. Maybe from some other podcaster “stars” who are not as good and like to stir up trouble. Peter Kafka & Nilay Patel are the real rock stars.
2021-08-05
3. Useful and smart for anyone in media. - The guests and topics are at the very top of what is driving media. These are the true movers and shakers. The host annoys the heck out of me. He’s very snarky. And interrupts in a rude way. Not to get better answers. Overall, if you work in media it’s a must. But I just wish the host was better. Oh, and the intel ads are just plain silly. And annoying.

4. Interview with YT Sue and he whiffs with bias - Love Kafka and his podcast but he whiffed it hard when he had YT Sue available to answer questions. You could hear in his voice how he got amped up and biased because a coworker of his was teased. He pushes the agenda to limit the youtube upload freedoms, as well as some more crazyness, while citing how it works for traditional media... This dude, Kafka, knows the dangers and hurdles of traditional media! He knows the generational engagement challenges of traditional media to penetrate cord cutters etc. Pisses me of Kafka gets the opportunity to speak with Sue and basically whiffs the first half with bias then speed runs through generic talking points etc. One of the audience members asked one of the best questions regarding the actual platform, creators, and viewers.
2019-06-15
5. Peter Kafka, whiz kid - Peter Kafka knows his way around the media-verse and when he doesn’t (which rarely happens), he interviews someone who does know. His podcast is great for all of the media junkies out there wanting to keep in the know about the ever-changing media landscape. He talks to magazine editors, newspaper journalists, tv producers, and all sorts of content creators. He asks questions clearly and doesn’t shy away from more difficult questions.
2019-05-07
6. Always something to learn - Peter is a great host and I appreciate that he doesn’t fawn over his guests, rather he asks them pointed questions that offer great insights. If you work in media, the digital space, advertising or something similar you really can’t afford not to listen. I learn something new every podcast and find the podcast material pretty compelling. Some interviews are a bit long but that just means I need to listen in bits and pieces. Great stuff though.
2019-03-26
7. Consistently great media podcast - Peter Kafka brings healthy skepticism to every discussion whether it’s with Reed Hastings from Netflix or Jeff Green from The Trade Desk. The resulting dialogue arms me and my consortium with knowledge to be smarter in our strategic roles for our media tech partners.
2018-11-15
8. Kara Fischer is just plain rude - Just listened to the most recent episode, with Facebook execs. Kara was simply rude to the guests on the show. I'm not a huge defender of Facebook or anything, but it really isn't necessary to be offensive in order to be challenging. I'll avoid episodes with her in them in the future.
2018-05-31
9. From someone who has seen it all... - Peter Kafka has (out of nowhere for those who have been seeing his print work for years) created a great review of the themes, content, and personalities of the shifting tide of the media tech world. He’s not always right but he’s always knows where he is mentally and physically, and he knows what to ask. One of my favorites!
2018-03-21
10. Fantastic! - The host is so interesting and asks fantastic questions. Because if this he gets top executives and playas in the media industry. He ask old media execs at Hearst tough questions and asks good questions to new media companies like Buzzfeed and Bleacher Report. I’ve been listening for years and just love the host. He says he’s older than many, but it’s clear he keeps up with the times and can easily relate to a mid-s listener. Go check out Recode Decode after you listen to Recode Media!
2018-02-02
11. Kara, are you reading to this……please? - I do enjoy your show, however "quasi-manic" you can be at times. Peter Kafka is right up there with you as an intelligent, conversational, yet probing interviewer - he, however, doesn't interject/interupt his guests as you do - often pushing the conversation in a direction you want it to go as opposed to the natural direction a conversation simply takes. When you listen to your guest and form another question, based on their answer - you have to first hear the guest's answer. Our world seems to revolve around the same story. on traditional media, day in and day out/week in and week out! The variety you bring is such a ray of sunshine for me. So, Kara, here's my critique for what you need to do better, and my five stars for what you both do so well.
2017-12-25
12. Terrific commentary on today's media issues. - Listening to Mr. Kafka and his guests is like having a seat at the table of an insider discussion of important tech and media issues of the day. Deep and thoughtful, Mr. Kafka manages to wrangle in interesting and smart guests that I really, really enjoy.

Release date: 2023-03-20
Comments
1. Long Form Evangelism - The guests are often very focused on evangelizing their own software. The attempts to broaden the conversation or get into deeper trade-off discussion that don’t immediately cast the guest’s software in a sales centric light don’t succeed frequently enough to keep this podcast from occasionally feeling like long form evangelism with ads

2. Relevant, insightful and actionable! - Whether you’re well established as someone innovating in the software engineering world, or just getting started on your journey - this is a must-listen podcast for you! Jeff does an incredible job leading conversations that cover a huge breadth of topics related to the ins and outs of successfully navigating an ever changing software landscape - from leaders who’ve actually walked the path. Highly recommend listening and subscribing!

3. Used to be great - Not sure whats gone on recently - but the short outbursts at facebook and useless rants are filling up more space than the meaningful stuff. It needs to go back to its simple technical roots! Jeff, maybe you can create another channel/podcast to vent your anger keep the content here simply focused on software engineering? Else you risk losing all the great work and all the subscribers that ardently listen to your podcast

4. Misinformation - This used to be a great, informative podcast about software engineering. The podcast has now become filled with bizarre rants, weird rap songs and the host has been publishing anti-vax screeds on his blog which can be easily debunked with just basic research/common sense. It’s all quite sad because I know the pandemic has been hard on everyone, but the burdens have been particularly heavy on those with history of mental illness. Unfortunately my sympathy for the host can’t extend to supporting advice to forgo basic preventative health measures for a disease still killing thousands of people every week in the United States.

5. Was a big fan until it went off the rails - I’m not here to say what’s right or wrong, or comment on the very public brand destruction taking place with this podcast. I hope that it finds its way back on track at some point, but for now I have to unsubscribe. So sad all the problems taking place with the people and podcast caught in the middle of it.
2021-11-08
6. Jeff went insane - I used to follow this podcast daily. However since earlier this year Jeff seems to have gone insane. His content is about his personal grudges rather than software. Although I am sorry to see a nice podcaster downgrade himself this way, I have to unsubscribe this podcast from now on.
2021-11-08
7. Was a great show - I had a long timeout of podcasts in general and wanted to return listening them and I was mostly excited about this podcast but I was very surprised by the recent content that has been released. It seems this podcast became a bully machine about Facebook. The latest episodes it feels like all about saying f words and guy going crazy or maybe influenced by someone.
2021-11-04
8. Terrible interviewer - I was genuinely interested by the guest but the interviewer continually interrupted the guest over and over. He also had the worst take on the environmental aspects of Bitcoin. You SHOULD care because if it uses as much energy as an average American household on a single transaction then the technology is flawed. Instead of listening to argument he starts talking about Coca Cola and some horrible whataboutism argument. This guy just wants to hear himself talk.
2021-09-21
9. Not sure what happened - Used to be a pretty good show, it’s worth listening to most of the episodes because they have good guests and topics. The latest episode “Mark Suckerberg” on the other hand is just… an unhinged, vulgar, expletive-filled rant about why he hates Facebook? Seems he is mad because his post got taken down? I’m not really sure what’s going on here.
2021-09-12
10. Broad coverage of the industry and cutting edge technologies - Jeff covers a broad range of the industry and cutting edge technologies that are very interesting and engaging. They expanded my horizon so much in the technology world and you can tell from his questions how much preparation he does to make the show good. Well done!!
2020-06-06
11. Great podcast - Since each user can only write one review, I am updating my previous review. I continue to be a daily listener of this high quality podcast. The lineup of guests on the show are excellent. The breadth and depth of the content are very valuable for people in the software industry and tech in general. I wish Jeff continue success and produce high quality interviews that listeners appreciate. ——-
I was delighted to have found this software engineering podcast and have become a regular listener. I found the topics very interesting, relevant to current trends. The guests are very knowledgeable and, very importantly for an audio program, very well spoken. This makes it pleasing to listen to especially when discussing challenging and complex technical problems and system designs. Jeff usually asks the right questions and getting into right level of complexity that’s suitable on audio. This is definitely a great podcast for software professionals to stay current and expand knowledge base. Thanks for the great program.

12. Hit or miss - This podcast has a lot of value for the type of interviewees that come on. I have a few grievances with the host as he often injects his opinion into the middle of a topic when by his own admission he hasn’t been in the industry for very long before leaving to follow a path in entertainment.
2019-06-10
13. Enjoyable guests, thorough coverage - I enjoy the majority of episodes. Most guests offer extremely valuable insights about their areas of expertise. The diversity of guests and extremely relevant topics are a plus. The few qualms I have with the show are the hosts desire to have his views of the topics heard above the knowledge of the guests and the desire he has for the guest to agree with his thoughts.
2018-07-13
14. It's okay - This was an awesome find for me at a time, but as I've continued listening I've found less value in it. Jeff brings on a lot of awesome guests, but his questions are often loaded and steer the interview in confusing and sometimes arbitrary directions. He also has very strongly held political and social views that make certain conversations more about whether or not his guests agree with him, and less about software engineering. He's also very economically motivated, which makes these episodes feel tied to the bottom line, often circumventing the idea of programming/engineering for fun. Overall great guests, and a host that needs to take a break (maybe rediscover a love for programming).

1. Best Crypto News podcast - This is my go to podcast for relevant news, Adam and Adrian do an amazing job keeping me current on crypto and economic news, informing on the facts, and giving RELEVANT opinions. This is hands down my favorite podcast, and I look forward to listening to it every day! I’ve been a subscriber for more than years, and I still have not found better.
2023-03-21
2. Best Podcast in Crypto - This podcast is really the best. It is a great podcast for those who are looking for crypto and economic news. Adam is honestly great. I love his delivery and his ability to share facts and news in an balanced way. Most of the how is straight facts but if there is a subject or story he has an opinion, he gives it in a way that is usually funny and not overbearing. Most importantly, Adam makes it clear when he is giving you his opinion or if there is any possible conflict of interest. If you are looking for an intelligent, no B.S. crypto podcast, this is the one for you.

3. Flooded with junk? This is clean - In a world full of moon boys, annoying youtubers who look shocked in every thumbnail, this is an absolute breath of fresh air. I look for good crypto content on the daily, between Coin Bureau and this podcast, I am satiated. Here’s the thing, though, I’ve listened to CoinDesk live on youtube etc., most of the time they are annoying people who spout things I could talk about it I googled for minutes, meaning surface level knowledge. Even though this is from CoinDesk, it is anything but that drivel. Give it a shot and you’ll be able to see the difference.
2022-12-06
4. If you listen to just one crypto podcast... - I am highly appreciative to CoinDesk for starting this podcast! As a listener to a large variety of crypto podcasts, I can say that Host Adam B. Levine got almost everything right with this: ) length - each one is under minutes. THANK YOU! While I understand the depth needed to fully explore many blockchain/crypto topics, far too many in this space require the listener to make an hour time commitment, every time. Markets Daily is bigger than a bite, but quick enough to consume in a reasonable/enjoyable time frame. ) format - two primary correspondents, without guest interviews. This keeps it moving fast and organized , with no sales agenda from the guest. News highlights followed by a note in depth timely topic keeps me feeling informed every time. ) music - I like the ambience it adds. A friendly, welcoming feel that reflects the inclusive intent of this show. Markets Daily is an essential addition to the crypto podcast world. If you’re only going to listen to one crypto/blockchain podcast, I recommend making it this one.

1. Excellent daily security briefing - It is part of my regular routine, even on days off, to get the latest on what’s top of mind for the InfoSec world. It’s presented well, even if I wish some of the stories were a little longer it’s a fantastic way to stay connected to the security news cycles.
2022-06-03
2. My daily dose of quick key security news - I always start my day by listening to the ISC podcast by SANS (by Dr. Johannes Ulrich) to get a quick rundown of key security news that might have brewed overnight. Thank you Dr. Ulrich for keeping at this and creating new episodes helping us security practitioners in a daily basis. We appreciate it.
2022-05-31
3. Great morning security briefing! - I’ve been working in cybersecurity for the last years and most days I start out most days with the stormcast. I think the material is very thoughtfully constructed for each episode and has a good mixture of breadth and depth of information. Many of the issues we are covering at work we heard first from Johannes.
2022-01-24
4. High Quality Information - This podcast has short and informative episodes jam packed with super useful tips and indicators. I’ve seen a lot of interesting things play out based on data he’s gathered and provided. Listen to a few episodes to get what I mean. Yet another great podcast the sociable Dave Bittner has led me to.

5. Every security engineer should listen to Stormcast daily! - I have been listening to Stormcast for the past years. It has helped my clients and my cybersecurity team stay updated with cyber threats, as well as threat detection, prevention, and recovery techniques. I have also used Stormcast to help my clients prioritize vulnerability remediation based on the threat intelligence gathers from the podcast. It has been one of my favorite podcasts. I have been recommending Stormcast to every one of my clients’ cybersecurity teams. Thank you again for the continuing effort of producing the Stormcast. Please keep up with the excellent work! 6. A must-listen for IT professionals - Listen to this everyday on the way to work. Though I am just an IT specialist and not a cyber security person, it gets me focused on the importance of considering security in everything I do and keeps me updated on the latest threats we face on our networks. Completely worth the five or six minutes to listen. PS. There’s no weather here. Sorry.

Leo Laporte, Jeff Jarvis, Stacey Higginbotham, Ant Pruitt, and their guests talk about the latest Google and cloud computing news. Records live every Wednesday at 5:00pm Eastern / 2:00pm Pacific / 21:00 UTC.
Release date: 2023-03-23
Comments
1. It just keeps getting less worth listening to - Leo Laporte keeps bemoaning that he’s losing advertisers, probably because he’s losing listeners as well. Leo, Jeff, and company are extremely self indulgent in their conversation, as though they have no concern for whether what they are saying would be interesting to the audience. They are also nearly solely focused on Elon Musk, Twitter and other “social media” companies to the near exclusion of all other topics. I don’t mind listening to brief discussions but hours of non-stop fixation on Twitter or Instagram or TikTok and Jeff yelling “moral panic” every minutes, is not interesting.
2023-03-02
2. Stop the politics and discuss Google - I used to listen to this show years ago but stopped because of all the political discussion that was irrelevant to the show. I recently gave it a listen again to see if it has changed and unfortunately it hasn’t. Additionally, the show is called this week in Google but I found that Google is hardly discussed.
2022-08-30
3. gone downhill - There was a time when a high-level, serious intellectual discussion about tech could be heard here. Now it’s all personalities and filler. Ant Pruitt adds zero value to an already watered-down discussion about one company. And there’s already a show for Android so what’s left is… chit-chat about Stacey’s headaches and barking dog. This Week In IOT would be a better focus. Jeff Jarvis is a distinguished journalist; it’s beneath him to have to sit for hours to only discuss Google, and really kind of silly.
2021-06-18
4. Interesting and insightful on the GooG - Great tidbits on iOt as well Can be broad ranging since it’s about Google The Journalism aspect is straight from a professor, which is its own course in thought experiments And some of their guest are phenomenal. If you did t realize all the hooks Google is into, scan through some of these netcasts and be rewarded with insights
2021-03-10
5. Enjoyable if meandering ride - The balance of backgrounds makes tackling some of the heavier issues a full and lively discussion. There's also lots of nerdery with things from web technologies to IOT chipsets to publishing business models. They have done a better job recently in not falling into many political wormholes, which I know a lot will appreciate.
2021-01-24
6. Must Listen Podcast - This podcast is a must listen podcast for all. Informative and entertaining conversations from some of the best minds in the industry. Leo hosts every week Stacy and Jeff with Ant to discuss current events and news from the world of Google which touches on many subjects. The knowledge displayed each week is better than any other podcast I have heard with such a wide range of subjects. They make a fabulous panel and it’s enjoyable. Give this a listen for a few weeks and you’ll be hooked.
2021-01-23
7. This week in “moral panic” - The title is a misnomer at this point. It’s more about the shady stuff that Google/Facebook/Amazon and sometimes Apple/Microsoft do. Which is fine if it’s good analysis. And the politics don’t necessarily bother me because tech news and politics are necessarily intertwined in . I used to listen to this every week but I’ve had to switch in the middle of the episode for the last two weeks because I can’t take Jeff Jarvis’ defense of FB anymore. FB has been used to poison the minds of half my family and he seems unable to grasp, for example, that just because his personal FB feed isn’t full of nazi stuff doesn’t mean that people with less education and less obvious left-leaning politics aren’t fed that crap. When people say critical things about “out of touch liberal white elite academics in ivory towers”, it’s people like him being criticized. And I say that as a liberal white academic who is neither elite, out of touch (hopefully), and who has yet to be given a tower of any sort. If I can’t make it through an episode of this without yelling at Jeff through the speakers and shutting the podcast off I’m just not going to try anymore. And that makes me a bit sad. I’ll listen to the rest of TWiT though. Just not this one.

8. Leo is Tired and Doesn’t Care, phones it in - I have been a listener since day one with Gina Trapani, Jarvis, and Leo. Jeff Jarvis, and Gina’s replacement Higgabothem, are wonderful. Ant Pruitt is getting his legs and this latest show, Spot., he started speaking up more. Leo, needs to go. When he is on vacation the show is much better with Jason Howell who takes his job as host seriously by doing the work and knowing what will be discussed. He also keeps the ball rolling in a meaningful direction with great directional questions. If it wasn’t for Jeff and Higgabothem I would dump this podcast. The insight Jeff gives on advertising, media, politics is excellent even if I don’t agree with him on some things. And Higgy’s home tech is interesting. Her input gives me insight into what is coming around the corner for the home. I continue to listen b because of that but Leo is phoning it in and the topic bland I delete.
2020-09-14
9. Still going down, tired - When Gina left, I found them flailing on topics that have nothing to do with anything even remotely related to Google. The addition of Stacey is the one bright light, but as she tries to get the TwiG train back on the rails, it's a strain. Leo is tired, maybe COVID is too much for him. It's obvious he's lost interest in the original topic. I guess as long as there are sponsors, they'll keep it going, but it's unfortunate it has lost its way.
2020-08-24
10. Great Show....But - I loved TWIG, but unsubscribed earlier this year. Reason, could not take the Political Views. Understand many people do not support the current administration, but host and guests were way over the top and just turned me off TWIG. Please tone the over the top political views down and keep the snide politcal views for other forums. Ive resubscribed with hopes that the show is back on topic.
2019-12-12
11. Please rename the show - I feel like this show has the wrong name and is misleading listeners. I’m not interested in politics and I understand some of those issues are related but you guys go way too deep into it and completely get off the tech part. I ran out of things to listen and wanted to give it another shot but no surprise why I unsubscribed a while ago. Best wishes!
2019-07-02
12. Done with this one - It is sad how Stacey has become so negative and demeaning of anything related to Google. On this week's episode she implies YouTube has the capability to monitor videos, but somehow chooses not to. Last week it was how Google's only desire is to keep your information forever. Oddly, as an advertising company ... what use is old information to Google. Maybe at some point the show will come back to a more reasonable approach with a change of hosts.
2019-02-21
13. Unlistenable - This used to be an interesting look at the l arger tech and media industry that would deviate too often into philosophical discussions about journalism. Now it is just a complete trainwreck that has almost nothing to do with technology and everything to do with the host's poet interests in journalism, world governance and leftwing politics. When Gina was on the show she would at least try her best to reign Leo and Jeff in. With her gone, it is a free for all. I don't really know who this show is for beyond the hosts. After years of listening I unsubscribed awhile back and don't regret it.
2018-11-07
14. Bye bye - Used to be a pretty good show. Hardly worth listening to now that it has become nothing more than a bully pulpit for uber liberal political BS. Leo no longer even tries to moderate the rantings of Jeff Jarvis and would rather sacrifice listeners than stick to the theme of the show. Instead he justifies the pivots as having some relevance to a broader discussion. There are much better choices these days for both tech and political discussions than listening to TWIG.
2018-08-06
15. Too long - Great content but too long for me. I just don’t have a time period long enough for this podcast in my day. It would be great if there was a condensed version of these topics or have a series of shorter recordings to sum up a few ideas at a time. It seems like wonderful content is covered, but my daily routines don’t allow for one sit and listen, and the lengthy in-depth conversations are difficult to pick back up once my attention is broken from the idea.

1. Good content, bad audio - Edit: //
The quality was much better this episode! Previous comment:
He has great content, not the best speaker but not horrible as others mentioned. The audio quality is what gets me, there’s so many decent USB mics for a podcast that sound better than this, it’s as if he’s recording on his phone. Today’s episode really got me, I couldn’t even focus because I could hear people (assuming kids & wife) and birds in the background. I’m all for comfortable WFH situations but if you’re going to be recording such a short podcast, at least hide in the bathroom for mins to record (plenty great albums were recorded with bathroom acoustics).
2020-08-04
2. A Total Embarassment - This podcast is a total joke. The audio quality is so poor that the host sounds like he’s on the moon. The host is a terrible speaker and needs lessons on public speaking and how to enunciate. Leave the vocal fry to teenage girls. Why not get the professionals who voiced the intro and let the host go back to his Jr. High morning pa announcements.
2020-03-11
3. Frustrating Audio - I love the content of this show. However, the audio is so frustrating. The main host will sound really loud and then all the sudden it’s like he’s whispering and you can’t hear what he said. Then the ads start and it’s a whole new level of loud. I have to adjust the volume more times within a minute span than seems reasonable.
2020-03-09
4. Love it - I saw their YouTube a couple of weeks/months ago and decided to give them a try here as they've made their YT quite entertaining. It's fun, family friendly and short. I'd love a longer version if possible to hear while I'm driving, but hey, that's just a suggestion. I feel like you've set an aim at a short min or less and it seems like you have saved countless minutes of people's lives by doing so, attracting more users. Keep it up! We hear you. Best regards, a viewer.

5. Pentagon podcast - So you’re Schiffless podcast today on a supposedly news podcast states with, even as you put it no actual PROOF!, that the pentagon may have awarded Microsoft it’s cloud business cause Trump hates Bezos and so he influenced the head of the defense dept. How about waiting for actual proof before you state something that some people will take as gospel. Talk about stoking the fires.
2019-10-31
6. Not bad, but... - I (try) to listen to this podcast every day.
It’s a GREAT source of info on what’s happening in tech.
Two minor complaints:
One, please see if the volume on the main male commentator (I’m sorry that I don’t know his name) can be adjusted. He either sounds like he’s recording in a cave, or he goes from being almost whisper-like to YELLING. Unbearable, at times.
Second, please stick to tech. Updates on the drama in Washington, D.C. have nothing to do with technology news.
