1. The show on Rahsaan Thomas is an important listen - I really want to commend the Art Angle team for their very respectfully done episode with Rahsaan Thomas of Ear Hustle fame, who recently curated an online exhibition of work by artists in San Quentin and who is currently incarcerated himself. The fascinating and honest conversation goes right to Thomas’ point — that proximity to people who are incarcerated is key to seeing this population as more than numbers. A highly recommended listen.

2. Excellent for beginners and more invested - Well paced. Full of accessible examples to engage listeners at all levels. Super timely material, as well as more historical or granular topics on the art world and art history. Excellent material for art history students at the beginning and more advanced levels.

3. Great Topics & Excellent Reporting - During this pandemic podcasts have become my greatest source of pleasure/ information/ entertainment. It can be difficult to find podcasts that move swiftly and deliver good substance. The Art Angle consistently delivers on all counts. The most recent episode on Ann Geddes was nothing short of provocative and brilliant. Hugely recommend these weekly episodes. Well done. Episode w/ Melissa Smith conveyed NOTHING if substance- and she uptalked throughout:(((

4. Super good for serious art lovers - This is a highly intelligent podcast that is completely clued-in to the the contemporary art scene in a way that is relevant for both well-versed participants and anyone that wants to understand what’s going on in art today. I hope this podcast goes on forever! Thanks for the insight that an insider can provide for someone like me that is keenly interested but not a part of the scene on a regular basis by virtue of my lack of a specific role in the industry. I’m an attendee pure and simple which makes me irrelevant to those that are in the know. I don’t get invited to parties at ABM but I’m always there looking, thinking and interested, trying to keep current with the new trends and thirsty for the type of information this podcast provides.

5. Great find - I really enjoy the mix of experts that they have found to comment on the art world. I’ve always been intrigued by Artnet but, as one casually interested in the art world, I never find I have enough time to peruse their resources and offerings — this podcast was sort of perfect for me. Also really enjoyed the interview with Artnet founder Hans Neuendorf

6. Finally, a great art podcast - I feel like all the other attempts at art-themed podcasts were either too broad—art history –or too esoteric—long, unedited rambling conversations between pros. Here’s one that feels relevant, even urgent, as it examines and contextualizes what’s happening in the gallery, museum, and auction house worlds. A must-listen.

1. review - I was looking forward to this podcast but although a good effort, it is rather uneven. I don’t much mind the low production values (heaven knows, we’re all suddenly improvising in this medium). Nor do I mind a generally informal tone. But many of the commentators seem uncertain, frequently punctuating their remarks with “kind of” and “sort of.” How could the exhibit in Provincetown “sort of” acknowledge the native role in the U.S. holiday of Thanksgiving? It either did or it didn’t! Too much of this kind of thing (including in the wrap up). It makes me wonder the guests really know what they’re talking about. The first speaker on Thanksgiving did a fine job, however, and could serve as a model to others.

1. A true gift. - As an ex film major and makeup effects guy who is currently using my mid life crisis to go deep into stop motion animation, I happened upon this podcast and can’t believe how much of a game changer it has been for me. As a lifelong cinephile, I usually bore all within earshot as I wax on about different films and their impact. Until now, only a few close friends and my sons, who’ve I raised on a steady diet of Kubrick, Kurosawa, Honda, Scorsese, Coppola, Coens, Tarentino and yes, Roger Corman, would tolerate an exchange with me. I feel like the proverbial pig who discovered a sea of lovely mud to wallow in. The depth and knowledge that is openly and warmly shared by James, Roger and their guests is jaw dropping. Beyond a deep dive into the industry and technique, this podcast is so personal it’s wildly entertaining. As a testament, my wife who will leave the room if I show any reaction to a rack focus, push in, frame or track (you couldn’t pay her to watch with me) has taken to listening to this on her own. She could not care less about how a film is made, but she enjoys the presentation and information of Team Deakins (with the exception of color science or Arri). Thank you both.

2. This is a wonderful podcast series. - You will learn a lot about not just the technical aspects of filmmaking but about the creative choices a cinematographer makes and the collaboration and inspiration behind so much great imagery. I would love to hear an entire podcast on Deakins speaking about THE WILD BUNCH - which I read his favorite film.
2022-02-08
3. For Everyone who wants Insight from true working filmmakers in the industry - I've been listening to them since their first release of the podcast, every topic they talk about relates to the film industry and projects they work on and how they go to their position. This is truly inspiring as it shows how these people, some from small towns or no relation to someone in the industry, can make it to a position in film. It shows that it is possible and a good insight of the days/work they have and it’s all passion. Without this I wouldn't know what I do know or wouldn't have the courage to say I know what my next steps are to join the film industry all I wish is that I can one day work along side the Deakins Team as they are a force of beauty.
2021-12-19
4. This is the most incredible podcast for filmmakers in the world - Roger Deakins and his wife James interview other filmmakers in all positions, and they talk about how they got where they are and what the job entails. It should be essential listening for all film students and anyone working in the industry. The fact that all the interviewees know and trust Deakins makes this truly on of the best listening experiences out there.
2021-11-23
5. Fantastic Discussions - I’m not in the film industry, but I’m a lover of watching films with a deep appreciation for the technical aspects of filming and the experiences that are created. The conversations in each episode are accessible to those who don’t work in film. You will learn a lot about technical aspects while enjoying wonderful stories about someone’s career, their path, how they approached a project, overcoming and solving for challenges, likes and dislikes, and other personal experiences. It’s such a joy to listen to, and Isabella and Roger do an incredible job asking open ended questions, or technical questions, and seeing where the conversation takes them. I recommend this podcast to everyone who tells me they are also a movie lover.

6. Wows ! - Because of the constant “ Wow” from Roger Deacon’s wife I unsubscribed many months ago but today I wondered if Deacon’s wife became cognizant of her overuse of “ Wow” and because John Turturro was their recent guest I started listening and sure enough the Wows came in droves. It’s worse than “you know”.

7. Film School! - Thank you, Roger and James! You rock like Hendrix. I can feel the passion and love you have for cinema and it’s contagious. I am a new filmmaker and an older artist (hiphop). I’ve dedicated my life to storytelling on wax and on screen. I’ve read a ton and watched a thousand videos, but I don’t have a film school background. I appreciate this podcast and your website because I’ve learned so much from you and your guests. I love and appreciate you both. Many blessings to you.

8. Loved it! - I’ve only seen Mr. Ballards one movie, The Black Stallion, which I love! But after listening to this podcast I’ll be checking out his other films. I found Mr. Ballards cool, low key, way of making movies very intriguing! Mr. Deakins, I’ve not listened to all of your podcasts but the ones that I have I’ve enjoyed tremendously! Have you ever thought about interviewing the film director John D Hancock? I think that would be an interesting podcast.

I found the cadence of information extremely easy to digest and, more importantly, found inspiration and a sense of “belonging” infused into each episode. This will be a staple in my morning “mood boost”. Thank you for your work!

2. Incredible teaching - This podcast was soooo revealing to me ! I hung on every word ! It was a bit uncomfortable as I felt you struck a chord about the unknown . I am a planner , so when I heard your take on this , Nick , it resonated with me . I’m going to “ Let go” & just paint ! Thank you! Every podcast that I have listened to of yours has spoken to me!

4. Thank you Nicholas! - I listen to your podcast on my drive home from work and it’s like having a conversation with a good friend - maybe a little one-sided haha. Aside from sharing incredibly insightful and thoughtful discussions about art and creativity, your voice is just so comforting and relaxing to listen to! Your authentic positive energy and humanness is so evident in every episode. I’ve been a public school art teacher for years and started making art again for myself a few years ago. My dream is to have my paintings be a source of revenue when I retire from teaching in years. But most importantly, I am so grateful for all of the joy that being creative brings to my life. I take something meaningful from every episode of your podcast - some I listen to multiple times so that your wise words really sink in. Thanks so much for being awesome! One day I hope to thank you in person at one of your workshops. If you’re ever looking for people to join your staff part time, please look me up! @christine.e.donnelly on IG Cheers!

My yoga teacher told us that we should “ play more “ in our adult life- well here I am - I’ve learned so much by listening and documenting your wise words - now I feel it’s time to play ! 6. A must listen if you are an artist of any kind! - This podcast is so generous with all the information that is shares. The guest artists that are on are so authentic and their is absolutely no ego involved. Nicholas has a way of making anyone feel like they can be a successful artist and has created a community to support that desire. Highly recommend this and his online classes!
2023-01-24
7. Inspiring and informative - I’ve only listened to two episodes so far and I’m amazed at how much I’ve learned not only about the practice of creating art and specific techniques and recipes but self-motivation, finding inspiration, art business as well as exposure to other artists. I feel like my network and community of artists is growing exponentially from the exposure into Nicholas’ world.
2023-01-16
8. Guiding Light - Nick’s podcasts are so supportive for the artist. The artists who are just beginning and the artist who are continuing in their journey. Nick has variety in his approach through his own experiences and the wonderful interviews he gives with other artists.
He gets down to the truth of the matter of being a creative human being.
He’s so supportive and open to helping you grow as an artist as you grow in your truth as a person. I love how he encourages you to question what you are doing and why.
I especially appreciate his emphasis on getting in touch with your feelings and turning that experience into your art.
Thank you so much, Nick! Keep it coming

1. Love the Chit Chat ( from a chatty NY girl ) - Greetings from a retired teacher on Long Island, NY ! What a find you girls were for me- I found you during our dreadful NY COVID lockdown back in March - your podcasts as well as your YouTube sessions and Instagram posts have helped me tremendously with my art !I had COVID pneumonia that year- I was able to work in a sketchbook in minute pods- your “Art and life chats “helped me through that difficult time looking forward to recharge with one of your classes or projects this coming year!!!! 2. Thank you! - This is the only art podcast I listen to. Louise and Alice are completely down-to-earth and inspiring at the same time. They share very openly their successes, their struggles, their processes, and their experiences. It's wonderful to know that different things I'm experiencing as an artist, they experience too. Each week, they seem to deliver just what I need to hear and consider. Older episodes have answered so many questions I've had about myself as an artist. Even though I'm not selling work or growing a business, there's more than enough artistic information and inspiration for me. Thank you for your weekly podcast and for being the genuine, authentic artists you are!

3. Thank you for continuing to show up! - I have to admit I was nervous when you said the format would be changing (guess I’ve gotten spoiled, “expecting” to get to hear your lovely chats every week) but I wanted to write and say that I think this new format and schedule is just as brilliant as ever. You are both incredible examples to other women on how to be true to ourselves, in our art and in our lives. If changing how you do this podcast keeps it sustainable than I’m just grateful that you are both still willing to record your thoughts in a free public setting in such an open, honest way that helps so many artists. Sincerely, thank you!

4. Thank you for this episode! - I just listened to your discussion with Rachel Davies and it made me feel so encouraged that I’m not the only one who struggles. At age , I also know the feeling of running out of time while still being enamored by so many options. Thank you for your honesty and encouragement.

5. Inspiring and relatable - Love love love this podcast! I truly appreciate the discussions about how the process of art isn’t linear, and isn’t always pretty and polished. I am so grateful to hear that artists that are further along than me also feel a bit off course from time to time. Also feel like this podcast gives me permission to not be so uptight about what I’m working on and just be free and enjoy the process. Also appreciate the advice that’s given and how the hosts don’t always % agree on everything but they talk about it from each of their points of view making this podcast extremely relatable. Thank you for this!

6. Uh- oh. Just found you!! - I just found your inspiring podcast a few weeks ago and now- argh. I am lucky to have many back episodes to catch up on. I listen to many podcasts. I always would rather have the casters feeling fresh and inspired about their show than feeling obligated to a schedule or routine. You guys at creatives and we like that! I imagine most of your listeners will be happy to hear from you whenever you feel like showing up with your creative energy. Thanks for putting your thoughts on art out into the world!

7. My Favorite Podcast! - I enjoy this podcast so much! These two artists are lovely, funny, smart, encouraging, honest, helpful, realistic, generous and kind. They offer so much great advice along with humor and smart interviews. If you’re a creative person looking for something inspiring to listen to while you’re making art or even just out for a drive, I highly recommend this podcast.

8. Love, but please keep this a political-free refuge - One of my favorite podcasts - I listen to every episode and love the conversations and encouragement. I will keep listening - but I really prefer that political opinions are not included. There’s hardly anywhere to go these days without someone interjecting their political points - this podcast has been a refuge. I hope it will stay that way. We all have opinions, but there are plenty of forums for expressing political views.

1. Perfection - I’ve been listening to your podcast and watching your YouTube channel since late . I’ve learned so much from your channel and the video courses. Listening to Raw Talk is always the highlight of my week, especially when I have to travel for work… so much so, I’m going back and listening to all the old ones that I missed. The back and forth between you and Stephen never fails to make me laugh. He deserves his %! You two are amazing, keep up the good work.
2023-03-14
2. Big Ego No photo - All he does is talk about a bunch of crap not related to photography. Mostly him and more of him and every once in awhile some photography. Lots of calling people fat or talking about things that trigger him. He calls himself a pro but doesn’t do jobs?? Pro YouTuber ha ha. No pro I know has a body under , shutter clicks lol.
2023-02-10
3. Best podcast I’ve heard in a while - Stephen is definitely Jarred’s “Fred”. The back and forth banter, off topic conversation and mini meltdowns make this show amazing. It reminds me of listening to Stern back in the day with Photography tips thrown in. I’d listen daily if it happened. Thank you, keep up the great work. PS. Stephen deserves more than %

4. Very Fun & Good Info - This show is a must!! I started with the podcast but found it even better to watch it on YouTube. These guys are great. Good source of all current photo news and more!! Update --
I'm happy this show is back on the air! I like how raw they are and how they talk about topics. It's just like hanging out with friends.
2023-02-03
5. Great Show - As a Nikon Z shooter, I’m having trouble focusing during the show… ;) They bounce around topics a lot, but I still tune in because, much like my Nikon; the podcast produces the best images of two guys talking about a subject I love, and keeping me entertained along the way. Cheers fellas!
2023-01-31
6. Great Show Back Then and Great Now - Raw Talk on youtube was great, quality and energy were great. Having them do the audio again without the video is still great, I really appreciate the back n forth with Jared and Steven. I like happy Jared and postive Steven and the realness of the things that goes on in your head when you're packing for a shoot/trip. Thank you for all the content.
2022-12-16
7. Great weekly recap with a Jared rant as bonus - I love a good Jared rant, and Steven has the good sense to not get in the way and let him go. Combine that with an expanded look at all things on Photo News Fix, this is a great listen as I drive to the lake to photograph Bald Eagles. Five stars, would hashtag again.
2022-10-26
8. Real & RAW - Big fan of the Fro and Stephen. Been following the Fro off and on for years and the content is the best it’s ever been right now. As a pro-photog, I enjoy the levity of their conversations, photo related and not. And very much look forward to their wide reaching tangents that mostly seem to logically circle back. Obviously their knowledge around gear is top-notch, but I enjoy listening to the BTS style commentary of what it’s like to be a pro shooter in todays world. Any and all up and coming photographers should have this podcast and the YouTube channel on their weekly rotation. Big thanks guys!

1. The Passion of the Host is Plain to See - Jennifer can make even an episode about art and artists that I don’t really like sound interesting. Smart but approachable, this podcast is for anyone from newcomers to MFA’s. Plus, new sorts of content like her books and the art news episodes show that Jennifer still has a lot to offer.
2023-01-16
2. Keep Jennifer Podcasting - I’ve been listening to ArtCurious podcast for some months now and look forward to her new episodes with real anticipation. I like her sort of informal, narrative yet erudite approach to her topics. I’ve always enjoyed art history but my experience is not extensive, so I’ve appreciated the expansion she provides on specific works of art, of well known artists, but also deserving lesser knowns, often women who have made unknown contributions! I hope you will listen to her wide array of available podcasts, past and present, and join me in providing her support in this difficult time for podcasting! Knowing More in NYC

3. Wonderful product/content - These episodes are wonderfully researched and produced. They are well put together and fascinating in their subject. Listening to them greatly supplements my studies in my university art history classes, plus some fun facts and insights that aren’t usually discussed! The only suggestion I would have is to include a catalog of sorts to make it easier to find all of the interviewed guests and their books! And I’m not sure about the computer version, but at least on the mobile version, the pop up ads make the website difficult to navigate.
2022-10-06
4. GREAT! - It’s been so long since I was in an art history class so it is nice to get a new perspective on this intriguing subject. Im so grateful for the host and her scholarly research and the attempts to pronounce names correctly, a task most people online do not bother with. The only criticism I have is, now that you have run through all the “usual suspects” of art history, how about some fresh perspectives. I’d like to see a series on female surrealist, like Remedios Varo, Dorothea Tanning and Leonora Carrington to name a few. How about a new take on Tamara De Lempicka? Fernando Botero, so misunderstood as the guy who paints “fat people “ could use a thorough review. Let’s shed some light on some well deserved art masters that might not be so familiar. I love the women behind the art series you did!
2022-06-09
5. Wonderful podcast - I started this series a little curious how a podcast about art history would work. Jennifer is an engaging storyteller. She helps me understand the history of the piece and about the history of the author. Jennifer tells the stories in well thought out, but tight narratives. After you get caught up with this series, check out the series on women artists of the renaissance.

6. I love the podcast podcast - Oh I absolutely love this podcast since my parents made me refrain from listening to scary podcasts I found this one and I am like I’ll try something newAnd I’m so glad I did because this podcast is the best thing that has ever happened to me so thank you,Jennifer thank you so much for making this podcast I love it love it love it

7. I tell anyone who will listen about this! - This is the first podcast thats ever held my attention. Not just hold it but KEEP me coming back to binge shows while I work or travel or clean..anywhere I have a moment. Thank you for introducing so many fabulous and important women artists! My year old son even listens with me in the car, creating wonderful conversations between us. Thank you!
2022-02-08
8. LOVE!! - Oh man, how I love this podcast. It’s been on my list for SO LONG and this past week I finally gave it a listen…and I’m already nearly half-way through all of the episodes! I’m a full-time artist so I spend most of my working hours listening to podcasts, and as a previous art-history major, I feel so fulfilled to have found Jennifer Dasal’s work. But the thing is, this podcast is for anyone. I will absolutely be recommending this even (and maybe especially) to friends that don’t think art is that interesting; this is sure to change their minds. Jennifer is a master storyteller, and the topics she chooses to focus on are extremely engaging and fascinating. Obsessed.

1. Episode !!! Incredible insights! - Every photographer or artist should listen to this episode. Chris Grunder had so many amazing moments, I will have to Re listen and take notes! The questions about “is photography an art” and all the information shared is exactly the kind depth of knowledge I have been looking for! You can’t find this kind of information on Instagram. I really appreciate your podcast and elevating the conversation. Amazing interview! I could use another hour with Chris! That university is lucky to have him. Awesome job! Dang. Just so so so thought provoking. Ok. I just listened to ! Damien Lovegrove’s work is old Hollywood! He has confirmed my love of hard light! I was recently mentored by an amazing photographer who has her masters in fine arts, teachers at notable institutions. She surprised me when she asked me to choose a style of light. And stick with it to create my style. I love all light styles but as I move into year of my career I am drawn to hard light & shadows. He also mentions the use of the phone camera and it is a huge tool for me. I didn’t even know what was possible with the phone camera’s until I upgraded to a new model. It’s liberating. Unpretentious. I love it! I even teach classes now for phone photography. It’s just crazy. Awesome podcast! I will definitely listen to your podcast on a regular! I really appreciate your hard work and sharing such brilliant information. This podcast is for all levels. Not just the rookies:)

2. Highly recommend! - I came across this podcast as I was starting out in my photography journey and I found it to be so helpful that I went all the way back to the first episode and have been going through the entire series. I’ve learned so much from Raymond and his guests and highly recommend it to all. Not only have the episodes been super helpful, but I reached out to Raymond over email when purchasing my first camera and he responded very quickly with the most thoughtful and helpful response. I’m so thankful for Raymond and his podcast!

3. Incredible, entertaining, and very informative content! - I started listening to Raymond about a month ago and I am already podcasts deep. His interviews with successful artists and their stories has really made me step up my game and be more creative in my business. There are some interviews about creativity that are so enlightening that it has made look at life in a different way, and I am thankful for that. It doesn’t matter if you are new or a veteran photographer there is something for everyone in this podcast.

4. So Much More Than A podcast - I found this podcast a while ago and I’ve been listening for a few years. The content is top notch and the interviews with photographers of all genres are inspiring and enlightening. I also enjoy the interviews with members of the BPP Facebook group. That’s where the title comes from. The Facebook group is an amazing resource of supportive individuals. It’s more than a podcast but even without the Facebook group the information contained in these episode will help you learn and master your camera.

5. Entertaining educational and packed with value - This podcast is great. I found it and started at the beginning and I listen all day at work. Raymond is easy to listen to, and asks all the questions I want answers to. The podcast is fun, thought provoking and encouraging. Raymond and his guests share a wealth of knowledge in a way that’s easy to understand and leave me motivated and excited to try and learn new things with my camera. I’ve had the privilege of meeting Raymond in person and was surprised to find that Raymond was more than enthusiastic to not just meet me - a novice, still in camera kindergarten - but also spend hours chatting and sharing information and insight on photography. Raymond is passionate, knowledgeable and laser focused on providing a truly valuable podcast. In summary, if you’re a photographer, you shouldn’t miss this podcast. Thanks Raymond - keep up the good work.

6. Top Notch - As a photographer who’s just starting out in business and creative this is just such a good podcast. I feel like I’ve searched so many avenues for this content and it was here all along. Thanks for what you do to make this podcast great. It hits so many different types of photography and there are just so many great gems in these episodes even if the overall theme doesn’t apply to what each and every person listening is doing. 8. The Best Podcast - One to two days a week, I have a commute that lasts a little over an hour - each way. Although the radio is a good way of passing the time, I stumbled across this podcast and found it is a true gem. I love photography, I love taking photos, and learning more about the art. This is the best podcast I have come across. Not only is the topic of photography discussed, but also goals, successes, and challenges of those in photography and their personal thoughts. The mindset of this podcast is absolutely wonderful. Listening to this podcast gets me more excited to be out and about shooting photos. As I listen to the discussion, I find myself looking out the car window and thinking - what am I seeing? Is there a photo? Light? Whatever level you are at, this podcast deserves a listen. Thank you so much for developing this learning resource!! Scott

1. Daily painting - I have always loved art, but have struggled just getting to the actual doing of art. I started listening to this podcast about months ago and kept hearing the importance of painting everyday. I’ve set (and kept!) the goal of painting/drawing at least minutes a day for over a month now while I listen to the podcast and I am having so much fun! I have a lot more freedom too with the advice of many interviewed that there needs to be bad paintings before you catch your stride. Loving this podcast, but hating that I’m moving through episodes so fast!
2022-10-06
2. Practical advice to get you painting - I’ve been listening to this podcast for months because I’m interested in learning to paint. The conversations and mini-lessons from Kelly are helping me create a sustainable art practice that works within the context of my busy life. When a new episode comes out, I can always look forward to a conversation that is relevant, succinct, and full of practical advice and new insights. This is also the first time that I’ve become a Patreon subscriber for a podcast. The extra support I’ve gained by being a member has been a great way to help me build momentum and consistency.

3. My favorite art podcast - I absolutely love these interviews!! Kelly is a fantastic interviewer. I’m getting back into painting after a couple of decades away and found this podcast because Kelly interviewed my teacher, Melanie Morris. It was a fantastic episode - and I literally learned things from that interview that I’ve never heard Melanie say before! And then I stuck around to listen to more episodes. And I’m so impressed. This has now become my favorite art podcast. I have bookmarked pretty much every episode I’ve listened to Highly recommend. And thank you!

4. Binge Listening! - I just discovered this podcast and I’m absolutely loving the content. The host, Kelly Anne, asks all of the questions that I would ask (only more and better!) and the mix of guests is fantastic. There are multiple episodes I’ve had to go back and re-listen to and take notes because they were so informative. Thank you!
2021-10-09
5. Love This Podcast! - I have been listening to this podcast for a couple of years and wanted to write a review (at last)! Kelly Anne Powers does a great job of finding accomplished artists to interview— many of whom I have already know and whose work I like, as well as artists who are new to me. The interviews are informative and inspiring. I’m always glad to have listened to one and often go back and listen to my favorites again.
2021-08-29
6. Love this podcast - Every episode contains valuable information from interesting artists working in a variety of media and using different techniques. The interviewer asks important questions, gives her guests time to respond and does not intrude on her guests with irrelevant observations. Look forward to the podcast and wish it were more frequent in its offerings.
2021-07-27
7. Great guest artists and host - I’m trying to teach myself how to paint and came across this podcast. I would guess that this show is great for all levels of painters. The guests are so fun and enthusiastic. The host asks great well thought out questions. The show has a nice flow I couldn’t find with other painting podcasts. The best part of this show for myself as a new painter is how each guest artist motivates you. While helping you to stay positive. That’s so important to me as a beginner. They’ve help me realize I’m on a journey that will only get better with time. Thank you!!

8. Absolute GOLD for artists of all levels - Had to write a review because this wonderful podcast so deserves all the stars! As a beginning painter, discovering this podcast really did feel like I had struck gold. Kelly Anne Powers asks such insightful questions that get to the absolute heart of each artist’s experiences, motivations, techniques, work practices, philosophies and so much more. Bright, inspired conversations with incredible artists of all types of media. I am learning about artists I had never known (so glad that I am!) Enlightening to visit their websites and see their artworks. I am treasuring each episode, and know that I will go back and listen to them again.

1. Loving season as much as season - I learned a lot from Lisa’s early episodes focusing on her own life and career and advice to creatives, and I wasn’t sure I’d get as much from the interview format she’s doing now, but I’ve been so pleasantly surprised. Her guests bring such warmth and individuality to the table. Just when I think there are no new insights left about the creative journey, I hear one of these episodes and just have an art-friend-crush.
2022-11-12
2. Such a wealth of knowledge! - This is one of the most insightful and inspiring podcasts that I have ever come across! Lisa does such a great job of sharing her wisdom and I love how she leads meaningful conversations with guests who bring so much experience to the table. Highly recommend checking this show out - you won’t be disappointed!
2021-10-07
3. Sound quality - The sound quality on several podcasts is terrible. Sitting in a closet is not sufficient. Especially in Manzanita. Perhaps a better microphone? Find someone who works with sound. There are many brilliant recording engineers in Portland. For me, the sound quality is a distraction from your content.

4. Loved the podcast with Jen! - Hi Lisa, I follow Jen on Instagram and was curious about this Podcast (I’m new to the podcast world). I wanted to say that I absolutely loved it! So insightful, I admire Jen’s work, but I so much more admire her as a person more now listening to her talk about boundaries! In this world of Instagram, as a woman in my ’s, learning a craft in my late ’s as a stress relief, I too struggle with things I post and strangers asking personal questions and what I’m willing to reveal, so it was so insightful to hear you both as professional artists to talk about how important it is to set boundaries! I look forward to listening to more of your podcasts! Btw, I also moved to the Portland area years ago from the Bay Area! I love it here and would never entertain the idea of going back to California! Thank you for your Podcast!
2021-08-26
5. Honest and straighforward - Lisa really gets to the heart of the challenges creatives face and offers great, actionable advice for coping and maintaining sanity. She is full of positivity, yet very real and humble. Through her own story and transparency she inspires trust, and I am looking forward to listening to more and more of this podcast!
2021-07-24
6. An extension of her art - Lisa Congdon’s art fills me with a sense of optimism, positivity, wonder, and clarity, and her podcast does too. Congdon offers guideposts, tips, worthwhile stories, and other gifts to aspiring artists - all grounded by her authenticity and unique perspective. This has immediately become one of my favorite podcasts.
2021-07-21
7. Inspiring right away - I’ve just heard the first episode of what I can tell will be an amazing podcast. Lisa’s words of experience are the perfect shot of reassurance that we can discover ourselves and connect with our dreams no matter when or how. I’ve always loved arts, since I was kid, but I always denied my self the opportunity to go for it because I wasn’t good enough or many other excuses.
Now I’m a mom of a year old toddler & unemployed. I have very little hours to dedicate to my dream, but if do and I will keep going!
I still need to discover who I am fully, it listening to podcast like this, it’s always powerful! Thank you Lisa! Beca Koblick de León

8. Great Podcast for Creatives!!! - Thank you Lisa for this podcast. I just listened to episode and ready to apply the information from your podcast and do some analyzing of my art in order to figure out my voice. Since I am a self taught creative I am unsure of what my voice is and what I really want to say. I started creating art as a way to relieve stress and boredom in my life. I have so much to learn and Lisa's podcast will help me to sort out my thoughts and what I want to convey to my audience.

2. Amy Sherald - Loved the Amy Sherald interview, nice & long. You two showed your great respect and admiration for Ms. Sherald and her work. My only bone to pick is that you omitted mentioning the touring exhibit of President and Mrs Obama portraits currently on view here at the MFA Boston. Important that more folks see her paintings in person - as you said in the podcast - rather than on social media. I’ve got to get to London to see the H&W exhibition. Cheers, Meg Maggio

3. When fans interview their idols - I do love to listen to the chatting with artists. The boys are very knowledgeable and its a lot of named dropping. So keep google search at hand. The interviews has a very insider take on it. Still Their kindness is sweet. But it also flattens the interviews. There is like zero critical questioning. It comes with the fact that they are so much in awe with their guests. Its mostly sweet chatter with questions about the art. I love that. But for example when Gilbert and George express their small town thinking by saying when they got something very cheap while playing the mondial art game I wonder why not question them about this contradiction. Also their obvious anti muslim stance is not questioned whatsoever. So the interviews miss this edge of critical thinking to bring out some new sides of these mega smart stars.

4. Inspirational! - Robert and Russ have succeeded in making all strands of visual art both accessible and interesting. Quite a feat that has largely evaded most art shows, podcast or other medium. What a joy to listen to a breadth of artists both well known and totally unexpected (to the average art fan like me). Look forward to every new pod with great anticipation! Thank You for this show and your work.

5. Love the design segment - I’m a published designer in America that loves the free flowing exchange of information. Enjoy your humanity and sensitivity. Russell your response to the ms maxwell story shows that you are a kind and caring man. And I could make your home in margate look like you want it to without the million dollar budget. Thank you for putting yourselves out there.

6. Love love love - I listened to a ton of the episodes over Christmas and what a treat! Russell and Robert complement each other so well. Robert being the art nerd fanboy and Russel lending a sexy dose of humour. Both are incredibly charming and great interviewers who’s only agenda is to bring out the best in their guests and make you understand and fall in love with their work. Being a little bit of a collector myself, “Talk Art”’is a refreshing charming and easy way to access today’s art world! Love love love!!!

7. Great company for some chat about art - I guess one of the pod types is ‘thinking you’re chatting with mates about one your many interests’ where you dig deeper than you would in a chat in the pub because all your friends aren’t as into x as you are. Well this is the art one with bells on- very accessible, fun but I’ve accidentally learned a lot, don’t feel like I’ve been lectured to- but loads of doors opened and I’ve been encouraged to go for a wander

8. FANTASTIC podcast! stars! - I am in love with this podcast so much. Russell and Robert make art so easy to love and adore! I have never thought of myself as an art fan, not that I ever hated art, just never have explored it or taken the time to appreciate it - but goodness, this podcast has opened my eyes to the art world and how we can all collect, appreciate, & create our own art, no matter who we are or what the “art” is. Also, the love I already had for theatre and film has been deepened as well. This podcast has also been healing therapy for me as my battle with depression, anxiety, and grief has skyrocketed since losing my husband to cancer & the pandemic. Thank you Russell & Robert. You both are lovely!

3. Bravo! - As a intermediate photographer, mother, and nature lover, this podcast was so relatable with Ellen. I was transported underwater and into her shoes in so many areas of her life. 4. Underwater photography & facing fears - I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Ellen share her journey of entering the field of photography later in life. She truly inspired me to pursue those dreams that I have had on hold and face my fears! Thank you Ellen for being vulnerable with us and thank you Richard for providing a platform for her to do so!

5. Saving the Wolves in Yellow Stone - I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. The information shared by Richard’s guest Marc Cooke was insightful. Questions asked were aimed at enlightening the listeners on the current situation facing the wolf population in Yellow Stone Park in Montana. More people need to be made aware of the importance of saving the wolves from illegal hunting. Decreasing the wolf population will have detrimental effects on the environment. Thanks to both Richard and Marc for addressing the issue of saving the Wolves. CL

6. Beyond the Lens and the episode " - I just finished listened the episode of the fascinated podcast hosted by Mr Richard Bernabe Beyond the Lens. I am absolutely amazed at the wonderful journey I made through the warm voices of Richard Bernabe and John Paul Caponigro into photography, nature, the Pandemic, writing, poetry, art and…especially life! The interviewer and the interviewee are quite sensitive, intuitive, intelligent, charismatic, entertaining and definitely great talented beings. minutes where you never lose interest because of the versatility, the content, the points of view, the orientation, the interview, the questions, the answers, the comments, the touch of humor (the laugh)…. EVERYTHING! It filled my soul and my emotions and it feels so sweet and pretty! I RECOMMEND this Podcast to professional and non-professional photographers but to every person who loves life, to those who have a sensitive soul, to those who enjoy nature, to those who love to listen to an excellent interview out of the ordinary, those who smile and laugh with fine humor and of course those who love meeting absolutely captivating characters! 7. Saving the Wolves of Yellowstone! - I listen twice to the podcast, learn so much and could not understand why Ranchers instead of using a device to keep the wolves from getting close to the cattle, choose to used a one dollar bullet and killed those beautiful creatures, and also the gouvernement pays dollars for each cow killed… Disgusting. Wolves have to be protected. I love the podcast by Richard Bernabe and Marc Cooke. They care so much for wildlife. Please listen to the podcast. Allie Mc Gaha. Atlanta. GA.

1. Imposter syndrome - Upon listening to this I though of an exercise I did with a therapist months ago. I suffered from “I don’t matter”. she had me repeat x’s times a day “I have value and great worth and I matter a great deal”. Now I thought this was ridiculous at the time and felt silly saying it, and yet these thoughts no longer served me so I was ready to give this a try. I did it and after days I was seeing where I mattered everywhere! My brain was looking for evidence of what I was saying. She explained it as carving a new neural pathway. “I don’t matter” didn’t go away but I am able to see the evidence of how I do matter when that comes up. Great conversations! I just found you two so thank you for sharing all the issues that come up and letting us know we are not alone in our thinking.

2. every artist needs this podcast - it is one thing to be told that all artists feel insecure or that we all have those imposter syndrome moments. however this podcast is a stark reminder that we all go through these things and that you’re not alone in your artist journey. this is the art podcast I have always hoped for yet have been unable to find before now. you ladies are amazing and inspiring and thank you for making this

3. Five stars isn’t enough - If you’re an artist looking for a sense of community and the shared struggles of creatives, this is the podcast for you!! Phoebe and Julie’s candor and light-hearted humor give a delightful approach to considering the “failures” worth facing and how they’ve navigated difficulties in their unique artistic journeys. Complete with laughter and mystery noises - are they ice cubes? Are they brushes clinking on the rinse jar? Give it a listen - you won’t be disappointed.

5. Love the bloopers! - And the snorting laughs (don’t edit that!) and now for the mystery sound. At first I thought it was one of you pouring a cocktail in order to calm down but then I realized —- it’s finally cleaned brushes being put back into an empty glass container. (Or no, is it just me who leaves them in their drying rack and/or jar of water?) Loved “hanging out” with you both!

6. I feel justified! - Ladies, outstanding job with this idea and show. It made me feel so good to hear that two women I see as highly talented and successful also struggle with style. A long over due show that will be a great help to anyone who listens. And somehow, can you post or link the quotes that your read. They were really great! Thank you again!

7. Artists — add this to your rotation. - Brilliant first episode. I subscribe to dozens of podcasts for creatives, and ‘Fail Like An Artist’ has all the makings of a “must listen to” show. Great insights from Phoebe Gander and Julie Battisti on their respective journeys to becoming professional artists. These ladies are funny, honest, relatable, and best of all — generous with the lessons they share. A no-brainer addition to the list of favs in my rotation. If you like Art Juice, the Laura Horn Art Podcast, or Susan Nethercote’s show, you’ll enjoy ‘Fail Like An Artist.’ Already looking forward to the next episode!

2. The Best - The B&H podcast is the best photography and video podcast you will find on the internet. I look forward to every episode. Alan and John are smart, funny, and the topics they present are of great interest to photographers and videographers. They also provide helpful guidance for all creatives when making equipment purchases.
2022-06-15
3. Best photography podcast - The B&H podcast really stands out compared to the other highly rated photography podcasts - no breathless excitement hyperbolic rhetoric fast talk like so many of the other podcasts- just smart deep and lengthy interviews of excellent working photographers (with the occasional gear head episode) by John and Allan the show hosts. If you know Sound Opinions this show is like Sound Opinions for photographers. If you want one photography podcast, look no further.
2021-04-14
4. Delightful - Every episode is a great listen. This is the podcast that I alway move to the top of my queue. Topics are always insightful and generally entertaining. Whoever is in charge of finding topics kudos, I hope you get a raise soon. Allan and crew do a great job keeping me entertained. Delightful!

5. Calm & Captivating - I just recently garnered a strong desire to learn more about the emotion and creativity behind excellent photography. To supplement my physical understanding of how cameras work, this podcast has proven an excellent guide! It has aided in the development of, shall we say, the mind-image connection (how to imagine the final image and employ techniques to reach it). The calm energy of the presenters and strong podcast topics explain why it is so highly rated.
2020-06-21
6. For photographers by photographers. - This is my favorite podcast because the interviews are from actual photographers who ask actual relevant questions that only a seasoned photographer would know to ask. Even though B&H is a camera store, this podcast isn’t about selling you gear, it’s about the passion for photography.
2020-06-11
7. Highly intelligent podcast (update) - Fascinating topics; this isn’t your ordinary how-to-break-into-wedding-photography or how-to-light-portraits-in-your-home-studio podcast, and it isn’t a disguised advertisement for gear you can conveniently buy at B&H. The podcast covers areas of photography I never knew existed, and photographers I never would have discovered, and does so in wonderful depth. Paradoxically, it does make me want to buy stuff at B&H—anyone who takes photography as seriously as the podcast reflects deserves my business. Update: --: I was just using the lockdown as an opportunity to catch up on old episodes. I was listening to the September , Fujifilm and Canon sweepstakes winners episode and got to the part where the crew was giving a shout-out to some of the reviews the podcast had garnered. I just about fell off my stationary bike when the first one mentioned was from listener “El Cajon.” It was kind of like back in the days when the TV would take to me . . .

2. Charlotte Burn’s Words - This is the first art podcast I found and started to listen to. It is by far, still my favorite. Charlotte Burns so seamlessly bring the entire world of art into my phone. I feel completely informed about artists, museums, art purchasing, curating, auction houses, and fairs. Thank you for loving art!

3. The best art related podcast - For anyone remotely interested in art, artists, museums, and curators/writers, this is the best and most informative podcast I’ve found. Charlotte Burns is a great interviewer and she is often accompanied by either Amy Cappellazzo or Allan Schwartzman. Wide variety of interview subjects. //
Charlotte Burns’ interview with Catherine Opie is my favorite among so many great IOW interviews and discussions. It covers so many issues and the artist is so intelligent and candid.

1. Fun Listen for any Comic fan! - In my years of collecting comics I’ve read a lot of Rob’s work. I have enjoyed many of his creations but don’t consider myself a giant Liefeld comic fan. I can say that I am a GIANT Robservations fan. I am impressed by his knowledge, his passion, and how similar our early comic experiences are. Robservations has become a favorite podcast! Check it out!

2. My “new comic book day” ritual - Every Wednesday I listen to this podcast while going to my local comic book shops. And it’s not because I’m around the same age as Rob. Or because I sent away for that Boba Fett action figure as a kid. Or because I had a Bulletman Doll, or the Planet of the Apes board game. I listen because Rob provides an insider’s perspective on the comic book industry as well as a fair dose of comic history. I’ve been listening since the beginning and Rob has continued to improve in his delivery. Whatever era of comics you prefer, this show is for you.

3. My new favorite podcast - The great thing about finding this podcast is working my way through past episodes while looking forward to a new one each week. I was excited to learn on one that Rob and I share a favorite comic -Avengers . While not my first book, it was the most impactful as it hooked me in with amazing art while the story not only thrilled but fascinated me with the history of both hank pym and the avengers. The podcast is great not only for the nostalgia and insider insight, but also for the sheer joy and appreciation of comics in every episode. (As an aside-would love to hear Rob’s take on my opinion that the real Hank Pym has been the greatest casualty of the MCU. He’s always been my favorite character and his virtual purge from the comics line has been a shame. Excellent topic for new deep dive pod.)

4. Class is in session! - Listening to Mr. Liefeld discuss his wealth of knowledge in all things comics is an absolute pleasure. I am new to the podcast but have been listening to the backlog at the end of each new show. I feel like I’m back in school learning the history of comics but in a way that is fun and addictive. Thank you for sharing with us listeners the knowledge you have obtained in your almost four decades in comics!

5. Rob the comic book historian! - I can’t think of a more energetic, heart felt comic related podcast than Robservations!
It’s hard not to be in a FANTASTIC mood after listening to his podcast each week. Rob, thank you for the hard work and deep dive research you do on coming up with these long lost comic book creator interviews in long forgotten magazines. I love this platform along with your live shows.
I really appreciate YOU, YOUR ART AND YOUR COMIC PASSION! Keep up the great work and thank you from a long time fan!

6. Pretends he’s not here for the buck - If you want minutes of “hi I’m Rob, and I did Deadpool stuff so I’m better than most of you” this is your podcast. Rob is a word-salad chef with a lot to say about nothing. Pretends to connect to his fans while he pickpockets them -my order off his site never shipped and he’s ok just knowing you can’t force him to ship or refund

7. Robservations keeping the love of comics alive! - I will honestly say that Robservations is the first and only podcast that I have listened to. Being around the same age as Rob, I “extreme”ly enjoy listening to his opinions and musings of comic books and the people that made them. Hearing Rob talk about the same creators I grew up idolizing brings me back to the days of standing outside the candy store debating who was better, Byrne of Pérez. Rob was among a few of the artists that in my opinion brought style and excitement back into comics after a period of blah. Thanks for sharing your time and stories with us and thanks for all your contributions in keeping comics alive!

8. A backstage pass to all things comics - Robservations is a backstage pass to all things in comics and pop culture, especially if you grew up during the Image boom. From the business side and insider conversations to the production and marketing of comics across the entire industry, Rob really brings you in with his perspective to what he personally experienced as well as leveraging conversations, industry news and interviews of the time. This podcast brings me back to my childhood and why comics were such an impact to me then and continue to be today. Oh, I’m also including the word of BRAVURA just so he can do his McFarlane impersonation…

ART FOR YOUR EAR brings you stories from some of my favorite contemporary artists. When I studied Art History, the best part was, well, the gossip. I loved finding out why artists did certain things, what was going on in their personal lives, and behind-the-scenes details about other artists they knew and worked with. This podcast is exactly that ... inside-scoop stories from the artsiest people I know. You'll hear first-hand from these talented, successful, full-time artists (who also happen to...

1. Good studio podcast - Helpful on days of production in the studio, good background listening that’s also inspiring. I like the hosts curiosity and questions. Maybe let the artist have room for their own stories without it tying into the re-telling of the host’s personal narrative, as the listener we hear her story repeatedly, then I would rate as

2. Love the podcast, hate the chewing - Podcast is amazing , I learn so much each and every episode .
I love paint chips too, but OMG listening to anyone eat is torturous. I am with Martha Rich on that point.
Please keep every else and lose the eating on air.
Unless... you’re planning to send me those amazing sounding salted caramel chips to ease my misophonia.
Just saying...

3. So inspiring - I love Danielle’s interview style and positive and supportive attitude towards the artists she interviews. It’s really inspiring to listen to this podcast as a person who is getting in touch with my creative side that has been stifled. I listen to this show while I sketch. Thanks for all your work Danielle!

4. Super good - Love the interviewer’s questions and the different type of artists coming on the show... and I always want to know how they got started :) which is covered in every podcast. Also the topic of feeling like an imposter/feeling doubtful is being touched on... another thing I am very interested in.

5. Keep politics O U T - The conversations are lovely until the snarky comments inevitably come regarding US politics. Don’t you understand how it can detract from the good vibes? Latest polls suggest you and some guests aren’t well informed on how Americans are viewing Herculean efforts to fight the Pandemic, by our Leader in the US. A comment you made on the recent show I attempted to listen to was downright divisive. We don’t need that attitude right now if we are to get through this together as families and artists. Just one persons opinion.

6. My muse and companion! - I have dedicated the last year to making as much art as I can and “The Jealous Curator” podcast has been my muse and companion throughout the process—thank goodness! I truly don’t know if I could’ve had the attention span and focus to do this without the support of this online podcast artist community! To listen to other artists talk about art and their own art practices has been invaluable to my coming to terms with my own artwork and art practices. I have filled a small notebook with inspiration and ideas that have come into my head from listening to the podcast. I can barely wait to bring them all to fruition! Thank you for helping me pursue what I have always known is my life’s purpose!

7. One of the best! - I’m ADDICTED to art podcasts and have listened to just about every one out there. So I can truly say that AFYE and Danielle are among the BEST out there. Each episode is filled with the perfect combination of intellect and humor. The episode with Natalie Baxter is my favorite one! Like Danielle and Natalie, I am an artist and mother (and many more things, thank you). They gave some seriously REAL talk about art, gender, motherhood, sexism, guns, quilts and more - and who knew those things have so much in common? Well, they do, and you’ll have to listen to the episode if you don’t believe me.

8. Welcome Back! - This is one of my favorite art podcasts to listen to. Full of inspiration and insight. All of her guests are current and have wise words of wisdom for struggling or emerging artist. I'm a single mom and artist who cleans houses to support my family. I dread having to clean but my perk is that I save this podcast to listen to on my cleaning days and it helps me get through my day. I was sorry when it was on hiatus but fully understand Danielle taking a break after the loss of her father. I'm glad she's back and thrilled with the new format!!!

The Modern Art Notes Podcast is a weekly, hour-long interview program featuring artists, historians, authors, curators and conservators. Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Sebastian Smee called The MAN Podcast “one of the great archives of the art of our time.” When the US chapter of the International Association of Art Critics gave host Tyler Green one of its inaugural awards for criticism in 2014, it included a special citation for The MAN Podcast.

1. If you love art.... - If you find that art gives you the lift you need to be more connected to the world and those around us…. this podcast is a place to nurture your yourself and learn even more about what other artists are doing to help us reach that deeper connection…. Love it. Take it for what it is…. We are all nerds at something - if we are lucky!

2. Exceptional art historical and contemporary discussions - Tyler Green does a superb job of engaging artists, curators and other arts professionals about their work and its address in the art historical cannon. Tyler’s erudite and encyclopedia knowledge explores the subject matter, drawing out his interviewees into wonderful anecdotes and deeper layers of meaning and connection. Bravo to Tyler for keeping his podcast ongoing throughout years and counting. Thank you for your commitment to open-source resources, too!

3. Fantastic Current Art Shows and Art History - Intelligent, interesting and informative. Tyler Green does an exceptional job of engaging the guests. In depth discussions of art and artists. Really love the art history aspect of this podcast. Where host and guest take a deep dive into works and provide historical context. High recommend!

4. Could be perfect - Intelligent, varied, with depth and a host who truly interviews and doesn’t spend time offering lots of his own opinions, unlike some other art podcasts. My only issue is that the host’s voice is so low, esp at the end of phrases and sentences, that you can’t hear him. It’s a little maddening if you’re really actively listening. If the host would speak up or better balance the volume btn himself and the guests, this podcast would be perfect.

5. My favorite art podcast - I discovered Modern Art Notes over a year ago rarely miss an episode. I really enjoy the way Tyler Green interviews his guests. I find his podcast to be at once soothing, inspiring educational. The episode webpage has images of the works mentioned, so you can easily keep track of the topic understand more. Thank you for providing this rich resource!
2020-10-02
6. Ambivalent - Tyler Green is sure to say a least one thing per episode that makes me throw-up in my mouth. Recent examples include: “The geography was freighted” and “well, they’re going to have trouble attracting artists of significance after this.” (To conclude an interview where I was vibing with him more than usual )His frictionless professionalism and eerie even-temperedness, punctuated only by arrogant gaffes, leave me wondering if he’s a bot. However, the guests are often great and the content news to me. He should consider adding a cohost. I nominate Dr. Kelli Morgan. Actually give her the show GIVE HER EVERYTHING

7. Artists today, art history. The beauty, the injustices, revealed. - Fascinating and educational! Tyler Green's choices of which art people to focus on is spot on. The one with Lava Thomas is a perfect example! Many of these podcasts shine a direct spotlight on injustices of all sorts, and blatent abuses of power, all through the lens of art.
2020-08-04
8. A Treasure - Consistent, thoughtful interviews of contemporary artists and curators. This podcast has introduced me to many artists and has expanded my understanding of others. I love going to see a show after Tyler has had a discussion about it with a curator. It adds such a great extra layer to the experience.

1. Delightful!!! - Several binged episodes into this podcast, I’m enchanted! Wonderful stories, wonderfully told - and all through the lenses, canvasses, and eyes of art! A long-time fan of history podcasts, I’m thrilled to have discovered this fresh and edifying perspective… and to find it so well done. Thank you! One suggestion: Consider an occasional plug for WikiArt? I’m finding my WikiArt app to be the perfect companion for this podcast, especially as it facilitates the further browsing of an artist, genre, or period.

2. Interesting - The content of the podcast is a clear stars. I enjoy the deep dives into an artwork. The podcaster does an excellent job mixing the history of the image and the painter’s impact on the art world. I am listening from the oldest podcast and working my way to the present. I just listened to The Swing, which was great. Areas for improvement include the audio quality (need a better microphone or something), though that may have already been addressed in more recent podcast. Thank you!

3. Love this podcast - I really love listening to this podcast. Amanda does a wonderful job introducing you to a painting—and not only the painting, but the subject of the painting and the artist. I’ve learned so much. And it is so much easier to appreciate a painting when you understand the background, as well as the symbolism that is totally obscure to us today. Highly recommended.

4. Different from other art podcasts - I’m both an art and a history enthusiast, and this podcast is a great combination of both! I really like the unique approach of bringing history to life by exploring different pieces of art. While many other “art history” podcasts focus mainly on various art movements and styles of art, this podcast is a deeper dive into the history and interesting people surrounding the art. The narrator really does her research and I learn of many details in each episode that I hadn’t heard of anywhere else. Looking forward to many more to come!
2022-11-13
5. Political Ad - Really disappointed to start an episode and get bombarded with a political ad. I don’t know if Amanda, the host, has knowledge of it, so I will give the benefit of the doubt and assume someone on her team could have dropped the ball. Nevertheless, I can’t subscribe to a show taking payouts from Greg Abbott. Having a personal opinion is one thing, but shilling for a politician by lending your platform is another.

6. Moronic - I was very interested until the moronic comment during the Marat episode. She points out that the wealth gap today is greater than the wealth gap during the French Revolution while completely ignoring the fact that the poorest today in this country (US) enjoy a better standard of living and eat more calories than most th century French nobles while enjoyed all the rights for which the French were fighting. While intriguing at first if the material dialectic is her historic methodology I think I’ll pass and recommend others to do the same.

7. Love it! - I was a STEM major in college and wasn’t able to fit in as many history classes as I would’ve liked. Amanda’s storytelling & presentation keeps my ADHD, science-nerd brain interested and engaged throughout the episode. I appreciate that she’s able to so vividly portray not just the political history but cultural & social history as well.

8. Great! - Enjoy listening to your podcast Amanda! Your knowledge and description of the art pieces help someone like me who enjoys looking at Art, but nothing else! I have learned so much! Your voice and delivery is not monotone, makes it easy to be excited about seeing exactly what pieces you are speaking of!! Thank you!

2. Humble, helpful, and full of heart - I first learned about this podcast from Sarah’s Instagram page, and I was intrigued. I’ve never really gotten in to podcasts before, but thought I would give it a try. I have to admit, I’ve been converted! I’ve listened to all the episodes so far and have learned so much! Hearing each of them recount their stories about how they transitioned to working full time as artists is so motivating for me as I try to do the same. And I love that each of them is so humble in talking about their experiences. Through their own missteps and frustrations, which they so generously share with listeners, they exude this quiet confidence that I find so refreshing! We need more of that among creative women! I pick up something helpful in every episode that guides me on my own path to pursue my creative practice. It’s wonderful that these three women are giving back in such a meaningful way. It matters!

3. Connecting and Learning - I found Sarah through a Domestika course and soon after began following these ladies on Instagram. I’ve been so delighted to find their podcast and hear their discussions as they share their different paths to becoming thriving women artists. Each podcast is like sitting in a coffee shop with these talented but everyday women and connecting with and learning from them.

5. My new hangout - I love this podcast so much! I have never been able to listen to a complete podcast because I prefer to listen to music but these amazing girls are like going out with your friends to a cafe while drinking some coffee and painting and just feel inspired by what they do and have accomplished. I really appreciate what you are doing because as an introvert, you guys are the kind of friends and conversations I would like to have near me. Thanks again!

1. I like the content but.. - The interviewer has lots of passion about the subject but I really wish she would calm down and be more grounded when she interviews the artists. I'm quickly getting tired of the "like, like, like valley talk and it sounds like she yelling in to her mic. LIke I said, I applaud her enthusiasm, but I wish she would mature up and be more grounded.

2. Great balance of topics - Erika’s layered conversations with artists are full of studio love. She has a gift for getting guests to expand on their ideas in a clear and accessible way for the listener. The podcast also offers inspiration and practical tools for artists to communicate their own work more effectively.

3. An enriching, empowering and uplifting podcast for artists!! - I've been listening to I like Your Work for two years now. I salute Mrs. Hess for her creativity, courage, enthusiasm and persistence in offering these podcasts! The title of the show reveals its content: It's about sharing, celebrating and honoring the work of artists and art professionals. As an artist and a mother, I love how the podcast highlights women artists and doesn't shy away from difficult issues. The podcast has certainly enriched my life and helped me connect with a new community online. Lastly, I really like how the podcast is promoting the idea that we already have all the resources we need as artists, we just need to know it, to embrace it and to share it!

4. Excellent Artist interviews!! - This is the best artist interview podcast I have listened to. The interviewer asks great questions and the artists interviewed always seem comfortable and relaxed. Artists talk a lot about their process, their work habits, their challenges and their inspirations, and it is really informative and really fun!!
