1. My go-to art podcast - Listen to this regularly if you’re an artist, and listen to it even if you’re not currently making art or you don’t consider yourself an artist. I guarantee you will want to pick your paint brush! Nick and the people he interviews are so inspiring and motivating. The stuff he talks about is practical, spiritual and transformational.

2. Thank you Nicholas! - I listen to your podcast on my drive home from work and it’s like having a conversation with a good friend - maybe a little one-sided haha. Aside from sharing incredibly insightful and thoughtful discussions about art and creativity, your voice is just so comforting and relaxing to listen to! Your authentic positive energy and humanness is so evident in every episode. I’ve been a public school art teacher for years and started making art again for myself a few years ago. My dream is to have my paintings be a source of revenue when I retire from teaching in years. But most importantly, I am so grateful for all of the joy that being creative brings to my life. I take something meaningful from every episode of your podcast - some I listen to multiple times so that your wise words really sink in. Thanks so much for being awesome! One day I hope to thank you in person at one of your workshops. If you’re ever looking for people to join your staff part time, please look me up! @christine.e.donnelly on IG Cheers!

4. A must listen if you are an artist of any kind! - This podcast is so generous with all the information that is shares. The guest artists that are on are so authentic and their is absolutely no ego involved. Nicholas has a way of making anyone feel like they can be a successful artist and has created a community to support that desire. Highly recommend this and his online classes!

5. Inspiring and informative - I’ve only listened to two episodes so far and I’m amazed at how much I’ve learned not only about the practice of creating art and specific techniques and recipes but self-motivation, finding inspiration, art business as well as exposure to other artists. I feel like my network and community of artists is growing exponentially from the exposure into Nicholas’ world.
2023-01-16
6. Guiding Light - Nick’s podcasts are so supportive for the artist. The artists who are just beginning and the artist who are continuing in their journey. Nick has variety in his approach through his own experiences and the wonderful interviews he gives with other artists.
He gets down to the truth of the matter of being a creative human being.
He’s so supportive and open to helping you grow as an artist as you grow in your truth as a person. I love how he encourages you to question what you are doing and why.
I especially appreciate his emphasis on getting in touch with your feelings and turning that experience into your art.
Thank you so much, Nick! Keep it coming

7. Inspiring art podcast - Nicholas is a unicorn. He’s so positive and funny and quirky in the best way. I listen to him as I’m plugging away on my painting. He’s always so helpful and entertaining, especially on days that I struggle with my art, which is often. Thankful to have him in my ear telling me it’s okay, to just continue, that it’s important and has value regardless. Highly recommend.

8. This podcast will help you make your life a work of art - Nicholas Wilton is a gentle and extremely wise guide on this wild ride we call life. 9. Favorite Interview is with Jerry Saltz - Nicholas Wilton has such an great podcast. Always interesting, it transports me to places where he interviews or where his guests are from. Sometimes by the ocean, sometimes overseas, and from various cities. My favorite so far is his interview with art critic Jerry Saltz. I turn it on in my studio when I’m going to paint and I’m encouraged and entertained by Jerry’s candidness. I tell my husband, I’m going to stop being a big baby and I’m going into the G %{.. studio. Listen to it!!

10. Grateful - I decided to start playing with acrylic paint about four months ago as a way to use my energy despite physical limitations. I’m so glad that I discovered Nicholas and this podcast early on. It would have been so easy to have been derailed by judgement of my results rather than finding joy and experimentation in the process. So grateful!

11. A breath of fresh air! - So glad that you are putting this type of content out here for artists to nibble on. I listen to you often as I go about my day. I am a very new creator and early on I could sense that my joy in creation was the absolute most important piece here. For it to be exciting & sustainable not mundane or just a job whipping out pieces like a robot. Your podcast gives me permission to explore a lot more. I get loads of information from each podcast that I relate with on a very deep level. The truth is I have very few people that I feel comfortable bouncing ideas off of or talk about the hard (mental) stuff. I truly appreciate the time you put into all of your content. It feeds my soul. - C.Margulski

12. What a gift! - I’ve been a fan of Nicholas’ art for years and listened to several ArtLife episodes before making the connection that the host was the same Nicholas whose art I love! The episodes I’ve listened to so far have been SO interesting, inspiring and informative….and through them, I’ve discovered some amazing artists and their art. Im now quickly getting through ALL the episodes and my only complaint is that there aren’t more of them. Keep it going and thank you Nicholas!

13. Authentic conversations with world class artists - Nicholas does more than talk to artists about technique (although there are sections of each episode where artists can really nerd out on specific studio practices), he takes us into the unseen areas of the thought and life behind the art. This is so valuable, because it offers us rare glimpses into what makes these artists click and what makes their work so unique. Nicholas is a world class artist himself, and is the perfect trail guide to help artists take their next step on the journey—whether that is starting out, getting established, or taking an entirely new creative turn. It must be a great podcast because I often find myself eager for Wednesday to listen to the latest episode. So grateful you’re doing this work Nicholas.
2022-05-24
14. Such authenticity and raw conversations! - Nicholas reminds me of the true purpose of creating art. With each guest, I am invigorated to strip away from societal pressures and trust the process even more. It’s my go-to art podcast when I am away from the studio and aching to paint. I can’t recommend it enough.
2022-05-12
15. Wonder & Delight - Nicholas invites podcast guests who are interesting to him, which makes them interesting for the listener. His curiosity and wonder for their work draws out their enthusiasm and delight for their creative lives, and it always feels like a natural conversation no matter who he’s speaking to. Not all visitors are artists, but each person has their own knack for being themselves. I enjoy how Nicholas weaves these podcast stories together through that common thread of joy in life through creative work. Bottom line: encountering this Host’s enthusiasm for his guests is just as encouraging as the creative life stories each guest shares.
2022-03-29
16. Just what I need! - Nick’s positive approach to life is infectious! He way of looking at the world and communicating it back is poetic and beautiful! From his conversation with other to his monologue perspective he is raw honest and incredible! How art relates to life has never been more apparent and more connected! I just love the energy put into every session!

17. Awesome! - All your podcasts make sense , I understand them and the people invited . I am home when I listen to you and I’d like to know more in order to know myself. The way you ask the artists and the way they open themselves bringing out inner ways of how they do their work opens a door I’ve entered many times . The joy of play behind that door or in that world is apparently limitless and has the type of freedom which lets everyone there to bring trough color and shape visual understandings for everyone else on earth. Unlike all the invited people there I’m a sculptor and share the same experience as I’ve witnessed them share. Thank you for your work. My unfinished site : florinbarza.com

18. This is my weekly inspiration - Not only do I love Nick’s ArtLife Sunday vlogs, CVP -month intensive classes and all the freebies he offers, now I faithfully listen to his Wednesday podcast interviewing working artists about their journey. It is such an excellent source of inspiration and encouragement. Making art really is a metaphor for life and Nick really brings this to the forefront of his teachings. Love it!

19. Love the December wayfinding - Thank you so much for reminding me of how important this spaciousness is when turning the focus on myself. I have learned to pay attention to humble inquiry in my day to day life - but duh- I hadn’t considered what it means in my art making. As I work to bring my life and art into relationship and find my way, this is an absolute pivotal concept. Thank you for sharing your own journey - that’s my favorite part about your podcasts. With gratitude!
2022-01-09
20. Art Life Presence - Nick- I’m loving these interviews. You are a master at inspiring great topics and great dialogue. You continue to inspire me and many others to continue the process of art making. The more you get into how our authenticity informs our art, the more excited I get about creating. Thank you for creating this space

1. A true gift. - As an ex film major and makeup effects guy who is currently using my mid life crisis to go deep into stop motion animation, I happened upon this podcast and can’t believe how much of a game changer it has been for me. As a lifelong cinephile, I usually bore all within earshot as I wax on about different films and their impact. Until now, only a few close friends and my sons, who’ve I raised on a steady diet of Kubrick, Kurosawa, Honda, Scorsese, Coppola, Coens, Tarentino and yes, Roger Corman, would tolerate an exchange with me. I feel like the proverbial pig who discovered a sea of lovely mud to wallow in. The depth and knowledge that is openly and warmly shared by James, Roger and their guests is jaw dropping. Beyond a deep dive into the industry and technique, this podcast is so personal it’s wildly entertaining. As a testament, my wife who will leave the room if I show any reaction to a rack focus, push in, frame or track (you couldn’t pay her to watch with me) has taken to listening to this on her own. She could not care less about how a film is made, but she enjoys the presentation and information of Team Deakins (with the exception of color science or Arri). Thank you both.

2. This is a wonderful podcast series. - You will learn a lot about not just the technical aspects of filmmaking but about the creative choices a cinematographer makes and the collaboration and inspiration behind so much great imagery. I would love to hear an entire podcast on Deakins speaking about THE WILD BUNCH - which I read his favorite film.

3. For Everyone who wants Insight from true working filmmakers in the industry - I've been listening to them since their first release of the podcast, every topic they talk about relates to the film industry and projects they work on and how they go to their position. This is truly inspiring as it shows how these people, some from small towns or no relation to someone in the industry, can make it to a position in film. It shows that it is possible and a good insight of the days/work they have and it’s all passion. Without this I wouldn't know what I do know or wouldn't have the courage to say I know what my next steps are to join the film industry all I wish is that I can one day work along side the Deakins Team as they are a force of beauty.

4. This is the most incredible podcast for filmmakers in the world - Roger Deakins and his wife James interview other filmmakers in all positions, and they talk about how they got where they are and what the job entails. It should be essential listening for all film students and anyone working in the industry. The fact that all the interviewees know and trust Deakins makes this truly on of the best listening experiences out there.
2021-11-23
5. Fantastic Discussions - I’m not in the film industry, but I’m a lover of watching films with a deep appreciation for the technical aspects of filming and the experiences that are created. The conversations in each episode are accessible to those who don’t work in film. You will learn a lot about technical aspects while enjoying wonderful stories about someone’s career, their path, how they approached a project, overcoming and solving for challenges, likes and dislikes, and other personal experiences. It’s such a joy to listen to, and Isabella and Roger do an incredible job asking open ended questions, or technical questions, and seeing where the conversation takes them. I recommend this podcast to everyone who tells me they are also a movie lover.

6. Wows ! - Because of the constant “ Wow” from Roger Deacon’s wife I unsubscribed many months ago but today I wondered if Deacon’s wife became cognizant of her overuse of “ Wow” and because John Turturro was their recent guest I started listening and sure enough the Wows came in droves. It’s worse than “you know”.

7. Film School! - Thank you, Roger and James! You rock like Hendrix. I can feel the passion and love you have for cinema and it’s contagious. I am a new filmmaker and an older artist (hiphop). I’ve dedicated my life to storytelling on wax and on screen. I’ve read a ton and watched a thousand videos, but I don’t have a film school background. I appreciate this podcast and your website because I’ve learned so much from you and your guests. I love and appreciate you both. Many blessings to you.
2021-08-21
8. Loved it! - I’ve only seen Mr. Ballards one movie, The Black Stallion, which I love! But after listening to this podcast I’ll be checking out his other films. I found Mr. Ballards cool, low key, way of making movies very intriguing! Mr. Deakins, I’ve not listened to all of your podcasts but the ones that I have I’ve enjoyed tremendously! Have you ever thought about interviewing the film director John D Hancock? I think that would be an interesting podcast.

9. Love! And need more diversity. - Fabulous way to spend mins. Many elements make this unique. First, James’ voice is so soothing :) BUT more importantly James herself is a skilled interviewer and producer in her own right. I love hearing from other filmmakers about their craft especially those at the top of their game. The missing aspect? More people of color and women. These voices are crucial to be included, but largely absent. Hearing from Rachel Morrison about juggling life as a mom and an in demand DP... hugely meaningful for me. How about more of that and POC talking about their craft AND experiences in a predominantly white industry?

10. Stunning podcast - Thank you Roger and James - you’ve taken the pandemic to provide a silver lining by giving us off the cuff thoughts and insights into both your own careers and ways of operating as well as those otherwise-inaccessible actors / crew / talented others. This is an incredible podcast for anyone interested in cinematography, Deakins and wider film making / storytelling.
2021-03-29
11. Thanks - Yo! This podcast is definitely busting. I get so many gems that I never seen from the filmmakers they interview. Like a Cohen mentioning Andrey Zvyagintev and yes all his movies go. Keep asking what inspired them cuz my South Chicago break room appreciates it. P.S shout out to Dave Mullen’s wife for holding him down when he was making k a year cuz Northfork definitely bangs.
2021-01-27
12. All The Film School You Need - The best way to learn about the roles and craft of filmmaking (aside from actually getting involved in films yourself) is through the insights, stories and wisdom shared by respected professionals in the industry. I’ve learned more about the different aspects of production and the dynamics between them from this podcast than I ever did in all my years of film school. A recommended resource for filmmakers wanting to learn more about how the craftspeople, artists and technicians behind some of the greatest movies of all time operate.
2021-01-18
13. Incredible Resource for Filmmakers - I’m a freelance DP in SoCal and I have to say the Team Deakin’s podcast feels like I got free tuition for a PhD in filmmaking at USC and given free notes from the professor for every test for life. Seriously though, this podcast has already paid dividends in my career and made me a wiser DP. Couldn’t recommend more!
2020-12-12
14. Learning Mastery From A Great Mentor - Team Deakins gives valuable insight in the craft of film from many important perspectives. The fact that Roger has opened himself up as much as he does makes these podcasts valuable to filmmakers for years to come. This podcast far exceeds any expectations of what I had hoped to learn from this one of a kind team of top notch pros. Many thanks, and keep them coming.
2020-11-20
15. Heady topics, cozy vibes, every guest is an expert in their craft - I love interview shows, and this might be the best interview show I’ve ever heard. The mutual respect and openness in the conversations are refreshing, and the guests come onto the show as artists, and they talk inside nuts and bolts about how great films are made. I’m surprised this show isn’t already more popular.
2020-10-29
16. Favorite Filmmaking Podcast - This is my favorite filmmaking podcast for filmmakers. It’s so informative and relevant; and it makes production feel less intimidating and frightening if I make mistakes. James’ voice is sooo soothing! I feel like if I worked with her on set I would feel so much better about whatever is going on.
2020-10-14
17. WHAT CAN'T HE DO - You really wouldn't expect people like Roger and James, who's whole life is mostly behind the camera, to be able to produce such a good podcast. Its extremely informative in terms of technical info and the different roles in the industry but what makes it great in my opinion is that it always manages to stay grounded and human.
2020-10-01
18. Great Gyllenhall ep butttttt... - Pretty interesting how you don’t talk about Jake attacking a bit actor on set. Only in this industry could you get away with repeatedly punching a coworker in the face on set and storming off. I’d like to believe this wouldn’t happen today and he would have been escorted off set in handcuffs.
2020-09-17
19. My Favorite Podcast - I listen to a number of film podcasts and this is by far my favorite. Perfect length, wonderful casual format, awesome guests, and—of course—two masters of their craft sharing their experiences and technical knowledge so generously. Can not recommend enough for cinephiles and beyond. Thank you, Roger and James, for this gift.
2020-08-23
20. BEST podcast I’ve come across! - This podcast is the best I’ve heard about filmmaking and I mean it. I’ve listened to so many others and usually it’s too vague on a job or position focused on the “main” jobs of film like a producer or director and I haven’t seen many cinematography podcasts let alone one that also talks about all the other parts of filming and everyone involved and connecting it all together. I’m so thankful for everyone involved for making this podcast.

2. Thank you! - This is the only art podcast I listen to. Louise and Alice are completely down-to-earth and inspiring at the same time. They share very openly their successes, their struggles, their processes, and their experiences. It's wonderful to know that different things I'm experiencing as an artist, they experience too. Each week, they seem to deliver just what I need to hear and consider. Older episodes have answered so many questions I've had about myself as an artist. Even though I'm not selling work or growing a business, there's more than enough artistic information and inspiration for me. Thank you for your weekly podcast and for being the genuine, authentic artists you are!

3. Thank you for continuing to show up! - I have to admit I was nervous when you said the format would be changing (guess I’ve gotten spoiled, “expecting” to get to hear your lovely chats every week) but I wanted to write and say that I think this new format and schedule is just as brilliant as ever. You are both incredible examples to other women on how to be true to ourselves, in our art and in our lives. If changing how you do this podcast keeps it sustainable than I’m just grateful that you are both still willing to record your thoughts in a free public setting in such an open, honest way that helps so many artists. Sincerely, thank you!

4. Thank you for this episode! - I just listened to your discussion with Rachel Davies and it made me feel so encouraged that I’m not the only one who struggles. At age , I also know the feeling of running out of time while still being enamored by so many options. Thank you for your honesty and encouragement.

5. Inspiring and relatable - Love love love this podcast! I truly appreciate the discussions about how the process of art isn’t linear, and isn’t always pretty and polished. I am so grateful to hear that artists that are further along than me also feel a bit off course from time to time. Also feel like this podcast gives me permission to not be so uptight about what I’m working on and just be free and enjoy the process. Also appreciate the advice that’s given and how the hosts don’t always % agree on everything but they talk about it from each of their points of view making this podcast extremely relatable. Thank you for this!

6. Uh- oh. Just found you!! - I just found your inspiring podcast a few weeks ago and now- argh. I am lucky to have many back episodes to catch up on. I listen to many podcasts. I always would rather have the casters feeling fresh and inspired about their show than feeling obligated to a schedule or routine. You guys at creatives and we like that! I imagine most of your listeners will be happy to hear from you whenever you feel like showing up with your creative energy. Thanks for putting your thoughts on art out into the world!

7. My Favorite Podcast! - I enjoy this podcast so much! These two artists are lovely, funny, smart, encouraging, honest, helpful, realistic, generous and kind. They offer so much great advice along with humor and smart interviews. If you’re a creative person looking for something inspiring to listen to while you’re making art or even just out for a drive, I highly recommend this podcast.

8. Love, but please keep this a political-free refuge - One of my favorite podcasts - I listen to every episode and love the conversations and encouragement. I will keep listening - but I really prefer that political opinions are not included. There’s hardly anywhere to go these days without someone interjecting their political points - this podcast has been a refuge. I hope it will stay that way. We all have opinions, but there are plenty of forums for expressing political views.
2022-07-12
9. Authentic, smart, funny, talented ! - One of my favorite artists and teachers is Louise Fletcher! I love the topics and easy conversation between Alice Sheridan and Louise. I paint on my own and even in classes don’t post much. This pod cast really helps me to feel connected with others. Great information and perspectives on many things.
2022-06-23
10. The best art podcast ever, thank you so much - I’m still a student and lockdown was really hard for me and my family, that was also when my art journey really began. I found joy in art but far to often I found myself lost in a sea of idea-less hopelessness and despair topped off with a seemingly lack of talent, this podcast inspired me so much not to give up on art and Louise’s and Alice’s raw and personal approach to telling us about their art and lives really helped me learn that I am never alone and that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, it just might be around a bend.
2022-06-21
11. Energizing, Inspiring and Insightful! - Regardless of where you are in your journey as an artist - this is a must listen for you! Louise and Alice do an incredible job sharing all the insights, innovations and practices you need to improve your capacity as a creator - through conversations with inspiring guests who've actually walked the path. Highly recommend listening and subscribing!

12. Great Fun! - So I just started listening to podcasts. I had tried listening to podcasts a few years back of friends recommendations. Ugh. Didn’t like at all. I’m a huge fan of Louise’s art and personality that I thought I’ll give Art Juice a try. Love love love. I’m binge listening. So much fun. Alice and Louise are both so personable and so genuine. The content is interesting and inspirational. Big fan. Now I love Alice’s work. Gorgeous

13. Absolutely Love It! - I eagerly await each episode and have listened through them all at least twice. Some, like the sketchbooks and planning conversations, I have returned to multiple times. Louise and Alice are such fun hosts and offer wise insights into the creative process! They are generous in sharing their conversations, their love for creative work, and their deep experience in owning and running creative businesses, and they bring that generosity into some wonderful guest interviews as well. Though middle-aged, I am at the beginning stages of my painting journey after having been told by my third grade art teacher that I couldn’t draw, and the wisdom I’ve found in listening keeps me company as I explore and find my way. I truly enjoy having them as companions as I discover and learn!
2022-04-13
14. Continually inspired by the podcast! - The discussions between Alice Sheridan and Louise Fletcher are consistently fantastic. Although my art is for now a hobby only, I take it very seriously. Louise and Alice feel like colleagues and listening to them chat away mames me feel I am in a community. I am inspired by their ideas, encouraged by their constant artistic output and their generous sharing of the details of their artistic lives. I also enjoy their deep dives into subjects like artistic mindset and sizing up your artwork, for example. I am also intrigued by their artist interviews. Episode with Kate Cosgrove, where Kate discusses her illustration work and a recent artist residency was both instructive and inspiring to listen to. This podcast is a big part of my weekly joy. I recommend it highly!
2022-03-23
15. Love the Struggle of Art! - If you’re an artist, you know the struggles that necessarily accompany the flow. Alice and Louise speak honestly and at length about both. They have genuine conversations and their friendship is delightful to listen in on. I’ve been listening backwards, so I hear about their respective journeys in reverse. And it’s especially fun to hear Louise’s Ted Hughes project from a nervous inkling to a fabulous success. So inspiring! Funny outtakes included. Thank you both. These conversations have become really important on my art journey.

16. This podcast is an oasis for any artist…. - Listening to these two ladies has encouraged me to ‘take the plunge’; I’m finally removing realism from my work. They are most generous not only with their ideas, but they can help navigate the brave new world of art online…. Something we all need I suspect! Thank you both… I love your work and your podcast. You’re such a gift to the art community in so many ways!
2022-03-16
17. Mixing paint - I like to mix right on the canvas. If I can, laying the painting down on a table or the floor and then just squeezing the paint right on the canvas and mixing is nice. It helps in that you have the paint right where it’s going and you can see how it’s working right away. There’s no middle step of having it on your palette and then putting it on the canvas. Sometimes I don’t use a palette very much at all. Really enjoying your podcast!!
2022-02-02
18. Stop Searching the Internet Now! - If you can only pick one resource to build and sustain your art career, Art Juice is hands down the winner. Louise and Alice share techniques, business advice, shortcuts and most importantly how to overcome the self-doubt “head games” we play that can often sabotage or slow down progress. They are engaging, encouraging, humorous, inspiring, insightful, talented and truly generous in sharing their foibles and successes. Because of this podcast, I believe I have “leapfrogged” over at least a couple of years of painful trial and error. Thank you Louise and Alice…you have changed my life and given me the confidence I needed to become a real artist!
2021-12-19
19. Great accompaniment in my art studio - I listen to this when I want to connect with my artist. I love the chatty banter and segments of the show. I also feel like I’ve had a wee trip to Britain. I get a lot of inspiration and insight for my art-making from this podcast. Thank you, Louise and Alice!
2021-12-15
20. The only ART podcast I habitually listen to - I love all of your podcast topics. Your voices are soothing, I love the talking back and forth (feels like I know you). I listen to you a lot while I create or sort my mixed media art studio, which is endless. Thank you for all of your insight, wisdom and for being yourselves. Great content, always. Listening from Tampa, Florida in the states.

21. Working artist guidebook! - As a working textile artist who has built, and is continuing to build a business as an artist, this has been so valuable! I love all the information and stories and perspectives and even thought I do more textiles than painting, I can relate to it all. I feel like I’m so much like you both in different ways and if you ever need an American correspondent, I'm here! But seriously, arts shows and gallery things are done a bit differently here so I have to try to adjust for that and wish I could find an American podcast to address those differences that is as good as this one for working artists because I would love more guidelines for pursuing those kinds of marketing things here, BUT…the advice is still so applicable! Thank you for such intelligent, fun, specific wisdom!!

1. review - I was looking forward to this podcast but although a good effort, it is rather uneven. I don’t much mind the low production values (heaven knows, we’re all suddenly improvising in this medium). Nor do I mind a generally informal tone. But many of the commentators seem uncertain, frequently punctuating their remarks with “kind of” and “sort of.” How could the exhibit in Provincetown “sort of” acknowledge the native role in the U.S. holiday of Thanksgiving? It either did or it didn’t! Too much of this kind of thing (including in the wrap up). It makes me wonder the guests really know what they’re talking about. The first speaker on Thanksgiving did a fine job, however, and could serve as a model to others.

1. Amy Sherald - Loved the Amy Sherald interview, nice & long. You two showed your great respect and admiration for Ms. Sherald and her work. My only bone to pick is that you omitted mentioning the touring exhibit of President and Mrs Obama portraits currently on view here at the MFA Boston. Important that more folks see her paintings in person - as you said in the podcast - rather than on social media. I’ve got to get to London to see the H&W exhibition. Cheers, Meg Maggio

2. When fans interview their idols - I do love to listen to the chatting with artists. The boys are very knowledgeable and its a lot of named dropping. So keep google search at hand. The interviews has a very insider take on it. Still Their kindness is sweet. But it also flattens the interviews. There is like zero critical questioning. It comes with the fact that they are so much in awe with their guests. Its mostly sweet chatter with questions about the art. I love that. But for example when Gilbert and George express their small town thinking by saying when they got something very cheap while playing the mondial art game I wonder why not question them about this contradiction. Also their obvious anti muslim stance is not questioned whatsoever. So the interviews miss this edge of critical thinking to bring out some new sides of these mega smart stars.

3. Inspirational! - Robert and Russ have succeeded in making all strands of visual art both accessible and interesting. Quite a feat that has largely evaded most art shows, podcast or other medium. What a joy to listen to a breadth of artists both well known and totally unexpected (to the average art fan like me). Look forward to every new pod with great anticipation! Thank You for this show and your work.

4. Love the design segment - I’m a published designer in America that loves the free flowing exchange of information. Enjoy your humanity and sensitivity. Russell your response to the ms maxwell story shows that you are a kind and caring man. And I could make your home in margate look like you want it to without the million dollar budget. Thank you for putting yourselves out there.

5. Love love love - I listened to a ton of the episodes over Christmas and what a treat! Russell and Robert complement each other so well. Robert being the art nerd fanboy and Russel lending a sexy dose of humour. Both are incredibly charming and great interviewers who’s only agenda is to bring out the best in their guests and make you understand and fall in love with their work. Being a little bit of a collector myself, “Talk Art”’is a refreshing charming and easy way to access today’s art world! Love love love!!!

6. Great company for some chat about art - I guess one of the pod types is ‘thinking you’re chatting with mates about one your many interests’ where you dig deeper than you would in a chat in the pub because all your friends aren’t as into x as you are. Well this is the art one with bells on- very accessible, fun but I’ve accidentally learned a lot, don’t feel like I’ve been lectured to- but loads of doors opened and I’ve been encouraged to go for a wander

7. FANTASTIC podcast! stars! - I am in love with this podcast so much. Russell and Robert make art so easy to love and adore! I have never thought of myself as an art fan, not that I ever hated art, just never have explored it or taken the time to appreciate it - but goodness, this podcast has opened my eyes to the art world and how we can all collect, appreciate, & create our own art, no matter who we are or what the “art” is. Also, the love I already had for theatre and film has been deepened as well. This podcast has also been healing therapy for me as my battle with depression, anxiety, and grief has skyrocketed since losing my husband to cancer & the pandemic. Thank you Russell & Robert. You both are lovely!

8. ThisOneIsNotTitled - Quarantine madness is not easy to control. Between doing shots of Irn Bru & Everclear, tossing Post-its out the window with messages for help or listening to TalkArt in my straight jacket, the latter wins hands down. The final episode with Lauren Weedman was like falling into an immersion tank of pigment and honey. The fabulous hosts engaged Lauren in a terrific discussion about the true nature of unrestrained creativity during a pandemic. The lines become blurred between the need to be expressive in the face of such great anxiety and the artists choice of action. Acting, painting, dancing, singing, laughing, engaging in a desire to just be alive and emote without expectations of adulation. Listening to this conversation vacillate with ease around notions of purpose and meaning was like watching a taffy machine on magic mushrooms stretch colored sugar to the music of John Cage. I already adore this show but the final episode left me hopeful that Art in all its magnificent manifestations will always survive. Bravo! @coogieworld

9. Delicious arty company - Lucky me to stumble upon this podcast and lucky you if you’re casting about for great company, laughter, learning, kindness, curiosity and more. It’s an eye opening pleasure to spend time with these delightful hosts and their guests. I’m so looking forward to catching up and continuing on with them on their art globetrotting.
2020-11-15
10. A Wonderful Blend of Enthusiasm and Erudition - I’m enjoying the wide range of artists being interviewed, many out of my art frame of reference. Russell and Robert are both well-traveled in the contemporary art world and when you listen over time, you will be too. The interviews are never formulaic and the interaction between the hosts and the artist interviewed is free-flowing and intuitive. Highly Recommended

11. Love and learning - As someone new to the contemporary art world, I feel like I have found a goldmine in TalkArt. When I discover a new (to me) artist, I'm always so curious about what drove their creative process, what were they thinking? I learn so much about the artists and context of the work. It's great to learn about their personalities and histories. Russell and Robert are such Art Lovers and that shines through in every episode. Basically, these are all people I'd like to have dinner with, and the conversations feel that genuine, intimate and fascinating. I feel lucky to have found them and I'm grateful for this podcast. Especially in these days of isolation, they really offer connection and beauty. I recommend everyone listen for sustenance and to fill up their art tank!

12. Educational and warm! - Love Robert and Russell’s friendship! The conversational ease and accessibility of this podcast is great. I have a pretty good understanding of the larger art movements from school, but this podcast is a great resource for people wanting to learn more about living artists and how the industry works.
2020-07-30
13. Excellent interview of one of my favorite artist Louis Fratino - The two sharp hosts and intriguing artist explored the tenderness of Louis’ paintings of past lovers and friends. His art is appreciated for its honesty and colors by my LGBTQ and straight friends. He is young, accomplished and has a bright future. I wonder how he will portray (document) his or other LGBTQ paths for future generations to reflect on.

14. Natural conversations/easy listen - Great podcast. As titles says it’s an easy listen and like how natural the conversations go between host and guests. It does help someone like myself who doesn’t know how to approach art sometimes to see it in a new way and open up to it. Video podcast would even be better!
2019-09-05
15. A Fantastic Distraction - I love this podcast. Rob and Russell have a really nice of way of making you forget life's everyday stresses and join in their love for all things art. The interviews are so engaging and each one sounds like good friends getting together to chat and catch up. I love that about it and am listening everyday on my commute to and from work and sometimes on my dog walk. It is a a joy I look forward to everyday now.
2019-08-15
16. Love the show - I just want to say I just listened to your interview with Zawe Ashton, and was relieved to hear that I’m not crazy for keeping my own art because it is kinda like putting yourself out there and not knowing if you can create again with that same vigor as before. Being a newer artist and being so interested in art I love your podcast and it constantly inspires me to create again just for the sake of art.
2019-06-29
17. Surprisingly Outstanding! - I am more inclined to film and movies. Though I could admire and fancy a portrait or a painting, it wasn’t something I would do completely willingly. I started listening to TalkArt because I was told multiple times about it (and because I’m a fan of Tovey’s work). I gave it a go.
Words cannot express the regret I feel for not having discovered this earlier. It’s like therapy. It was so surprising and amusing. In a world where there’s so much vanity and lack of detail and beauty, you get to hear Robert and Russell talk to many artists about their perceptions and their aspirations like we would in a casual conversation instead of making it more documental. They genuinely have a great interest for art and their humor, fun facts and intriguing guests make hearing this podcast such a great time.
Definite, definite, definite recommend!!!!

18. Phenomenal Duo - I always knew I liked art. I asked myself all the questions talked about in the introduction. I felt like I didn’t want to ask these questions to my art going friends in case I outed myself as not fully capable of understanding what I was looking at. With many examples in this podcast I now understand much more. I also know i like art more than I led myself to believe I did. Robert & Russell are two peas in a pod. I’ve even re-listened to all episodes. Even exiting my car with faux Brit-Accent in tow. Keep the podcast going you both, it’s an absolute hit!
2019-02-27
19. Charismatic duo who make art enjoyable again! - I really enjoy listening to Russell and Robert speak frankly about art without pretentiousness. They remind me to just enjoy art - don’t force it when you don’t. Love this charming and charismatic duo! It’s really fresh and fun to hear their take and I’m looking forward to next episodes!

The iFanboy.com Comic Book Podcast is a weekly talk show all about the best new current comic book releases. Lifelong friends, Conor Kilpatrick and Josh Flanagan talk about what they loved and (sometimes) hated in the current weekly books, from publishers like Marvel, DC, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, BOOM! Studios, IDW, Aftershock, Valiant, and more. The aim is to have a fun time, some laughs, but to also really understand what makes comic books work and what doesn’t, and trying to underst...

1. Very informative but . . . - They seem to have become jaded when it comes to reviewing comics and come at the job as if it’s a slog rather than a fun hobby and with so many comic book blogs and podcast out there I don’t think anyone would miss them if they were to just stop. Sounds harsh but hearing them complain about the books they have to read when no one’s telling them to read the books is a big turnoff. Having said that it’s nice to hear them when they are actively excited about a storyline or comic. Their film reviews are also informative but they come from a very “fanboy” pov at times which is very off-putting. The recent review of Wakanda forever is a good example of it. Being bothered by the way namor’s name is pronounced is a stupid nitpick and I think they tend to miss the big picture of some films to instead focus on minute details that only a knee deep comic nerd would catch. I’d say my favorite topics are the booksplode episodes cause they can get really deep into a complete story rather than criticize chapters of a story, which is what they do with pick of the week.

2. Best Comics Podcast - Looked for a comic podcast for a long time. This is overall the best one. These guys get it right consistently. They understand the medium. Reviews are fair and honest. They don’t buy into any hype, just clear critiques of the latest books without any pandering to the big two.
2022-12-07
3. Best comic review show - Started listening to a few different comic review podcast a couple of years ago. Ifanboy is the only one I stuck with. The host have honest and thoughtful reviews without being overly negative or positive on any particular title. Also the audio quality is consistently good which is something that is hard to find in a lot of pods. I have gone back years to listen to past episodes of well and can see that these guys demonstrate a commitment to quality podcasting and reviews.

4. Always a blast - I have been listening to Ifanboy for years now. This is a podcast I always look forward to each week and each special episode. It might take you an episode to get in the groove and know the people and the format. But I always laugh and have so much fun evem if they arent talking about books that I read. Their criteques are fair and make me think about what I read more. All I can say is that this podcast is great, fun and something that is easy to enjoy and you should give it a try!!

5. Ratings… . - The best comic book podcast in the known sector of… I don’t know, space I guess. Josh and Connor do a great job reviewing comics with a strong critical eye. You don’t have to always agree with them, but you can respect the thought put into their comments. It’s smart stuff. has the best episode description ever!
2022-03-09
6. good guys. - I’ve been listening for way over a decade now, and the show is still just as fun, informative, and in-depth as ever. These two know their comics, know what they like, and know how to keep the listener interested. My favorite parts are the Pick of the Week, the Paterson picks, and the email questions that they (usually) answer at the end of the show. I also enjoy the tangents they go off on each episode. And although I’m not one for the super powers they bestow on a few listeners each week, there is still plenty of light-hearted entertainment for any true comic book fan.
2022-02-06
7. Film reviews - Although I listen to their pick of the week podcast, I come here more for the film reviews more than anything. Spider-Man has been out for weeks now and has set an ungodly amount of Box Office records (even my dad saw it) and no review posted?! Also Zack Snyders JL is a comic book brought to life and deserves attention from guys who call themselves ‘fan boys’. I have more fandom in my pinky finger than these guys.
2022-01-24
8. Buzz Killers! - These guys...I’m sorry, whenever I let them back in they tick me off all over again. They’re like the aging social worker or special Ed teacher who’s been at it years but burned out on their career and just keep doing it because it’s all they know. Most seem unable to derive much pleasure from the worlds of comics, Star Wars, etc. My issue is less so with the main guys as with a couple of the guests (particularly the nasally one who used to be a fan and comes off as a try hard who worries too much about disagreeing with Conor and the main dude). There’s also a guest who is more measured in his tone and usually comes in for the film reviews; I like him just fine. Case in point, the new Suicide Squad film. I agree the first one was disappointing but this latest one was a riot! I’m a huge comics reader and collector since , my wife could care less, and my year old daughter has a mild interest (unless it’s Hiddleston Loki, then she’s all in!)...all of us came away loving SS. I was foolishly excited to hear the iFanboy review and had to turn it off after minutes because of the guys could barely find a good thing to say about it. It’s like this all too much imo. I much prefer Comic Book Guys anymore because their show is informative, fun, funny and doesn’t take itself so seriously. stars because i do still respect and get a lot from their weekly comic reviews. I just wonder if some of these guys should seek a career change for peace of mind. I ended up doing it after a -year IT career and have never been happier! For me, It’s just not that enjoyable to listen to people talk about subjects they don’t seem to like all that much.

9. One of the best Olive Garden Taylor Swift Podcasts - I've been listening to these jamokes for years now and this last episode hit me like a piece of rebar falling off the back of a truck while I'm doing on the highway. There are not enough podcasts that cater to my love of olive garden appetizers, too young pop musicians, and personaly recommendations of comics for people who you used to work with and will never actually hear your recommendation because they don't listen to the podcast. A great podcast to recommend to your mom. Definitely deserves all the star ratings. Ratings.

10. Great show - Just finished episode
First time listener Really enjoyed Long time comic collector Stuck home Cataloging my collection Perfect opportunity Funny just finished rereading
Thor - frog story and your Podcast email mentions Writer/Artist , so I think of Walt Simonson. Which you mentioned Of course Not to mention I’m a big G.I. Joe fan, with many comics
My sons watched the show you reviewed They became fans Once I flipped thru some of their comics
I started buying
I happen to be Vietnam Vet. U.S. Army, some how made it home!!

11. The Quintessential Comic book Podcast - If you’re looking for a podcast about comics this is it. I’ve been listening to these guys for over years now, and no other comics podcast comes close. They give very professional objective viewpoints, while remaining entertaining. I look forward to every Sunday because of these guys. I can’t recommend it enough.
2020-02-05
12. Talking comics - If you're into or at all interested in comics, this is a great podcast to subscribe to. Ron, Josh, and Conor know their stuff. Reviews are honest and interaction with the community is strong. Give it a shot, I think you'll find it both enjoyable and informative. update: These guys are pros. Makes reading comics more enjoyable.
2019-12-16
13. I don’t even read comics - I haven’t read comics since the late ’s and yet here i am every Sunday night. I can’t explain it nor do I want it explained. I’m guessing it relates to me on the level that it is guys my age talking pop culture etc. I won’t lie, I miss Ron’s presence but I still love the show with Josh and Connor. It’s just different, you love both of your kids...just differently. These guys are the rebar gouging the competition. Keep it up!
2019-11-28
14. Fantastic podcast - Connor and Josh are great and fun to listen to and funny. Ron is pretty good in small doses but Ryan is obnoxious and if I see his name in the description I skip those ones. Otherwise great podcast with great speakers. Thank you for taking the time to put these out every week gentleman!
2019-09-21
15. Let's talk comics not politics!! - I've been listening to them off and on for years but I think its about time to move on. Most of the books they dislike I love, most of the ones they love I wouldn’t waste my time with. The worst part of it is they feel the need (usually indirectly) to let us know how unhappy they are with Trump. I want to hear about comics not your political views!! And dont get me started on Josh...the dude is just a downer.
2019-07-24
16. My Pull List Hates Them; I Don't - If you need more comics to read, this is a podcast you need to check out. If your pull list is already too large, then you have a problem that doesn't really exist. The folks behind iFanboy do a great job of introducing new comics, tackling some of the big comic-oriented media properties out there, and giving you insights into the comics world. Give this show a listen. Your pull list won't thank you, but your brain will!
2019-07-14
17. Moving on - Been listening for a couple of years and was a borderline fan. I do like their format, but often their energy level is so low they don’t seem to enjoy what they do. And in my opinion, Josh comes off as condescending. The solo Josh episodes pushed me over the edge, so I’m looking for a new podcast.
2019-04-28
18. The best comic book podcast out there and a - I've been listening to this podcast for over a decade, which is an absolutely wild thing. ifanboy was my first podcast back on my ipod classic, and before people even knew what podcasts were. This is the podcast I start my week with and look forward to the most the following week. The hosts (currently Josh and Conor, and the elusive Ron when he's not employed by comic book publishers) are some of my favorite people in podcasting. They do it because they love comics and spending time with each other and we the listeners are lucky enough to be included on their conversations. I don't have a lot of friends who enjoy comics or similar media, and that's why I love ifanboy. It's like checking in with friends whom I've never met in person and getting their takes on the week's new books. The podcast reaches perfect when they discuss old G.I.Joe cartoons, and the hosts own laughter brings the podcast to a halt. ifanboy is a part of my weekly routine at this point and I wouldn't have it any other way.
2019-03-03
19. Best Comics Podcast Out There - I’ve been thinking about this review for years now. The hosts are incredibly knowledgeable, but more importantly (in my opinion) very charismatic and likable. They have a great chemistry together. This has made me read comics in a different way and challenged me to better articulate why I like them. You should definitely listen to this if you like comics, humor and intelligent critiques. If were Electro, this podcast would get a . Or a . To be honest I don’t understand that scale.
2019-02-12
20. The original and the best - The guys at iFanboy have been doing this for a long time, and it shows: they’re pros. More than anyone else, they can explain why a comic is good, or why it’s not for them (which, as they’re the first to point out, doesn’t mean it’s bad). I’ll admit to being biased: I’ve been listening to them every week (or more, with special shows) for more than a decade. In that time, I’ve dropped a lot of the comic shows I used to listen to. Others have petered out. Josh and Conor have kept going, and only gotten better.
2019-01-18
21. The Best Way to Discover Quality Comics - Josh and Connor (and formerly Ron) have been my favorite source for comic reviews ever since I got back into the medium seven-ish years ago. Their reviews are honest, and they have well-established likes and bugaboos. The show is funny, without being crass. While the hosts are all men, they are not the sort of Comics Bros that give the form a bad name. Thanks for putting out a good show every week!

1. Daily painting - I have always loved art, but have struggled just getting to the actual doing of art. I started listening to this podcast about months ago and kept hearing the importance of painting everyday. I’ve set (and kept!) the goal of painting/drawing at least minutes a day for over a month now while I listen to the podcast and I am having so much fun! I have a lot more freedom too with the advice of many interviewed that there needs to be bad paintings before you catch your stride. Loving this podcast, but hating that I’m moving through episodes so fast!

2. Practical advice to get you painting - I’ve been listening to this podcast for months because I’m interested in learning to paint. The conversations and mini-lessons from Kelly are helping me create a sustainable art practice that works within the context of my busy life. When a new episode comes out, I can always look forward to a conversation that is relevant, succinct, and full of practical advice and new insights. This is also the first time that I’ve become a Patreon subscriber for a podcast. The extra support I’ve gained by being a member has been a great way to help me build momentum and consistency.

3. My favorite art podcast - I absolutely love these interviews!! Kelly is a fantastic interviewer. I’m getting back into painting after a couple of decades away and found this podcast because Kelly interviewed my teacher, Melanie Morris. It was a fantastic episode - and I literally learned things from that interview that I’ve never heard Melanie say before! And then I stuck around to listen to more episodes. And I’m so impressed. This has now become my favorite art podcast. I have bookmarked pretty much every episode I’ve listened to Highly recommend. And thank you!

4. Binge Listening! - I just discovered this podcast and I’m absolutely loving the content. The host, Kelly Anne, asks all of the questions that I would ask (only more and better!) and the mix of guests is fantastic. There are multiple episodes I’ve had to go back and re-listen to and take notes because they were so informative. Thank you!

5. Love This Podcast! - I have been listening to this podcast for a couple of years and wanted to write a review (at last)! Kelly Anne Powers does a great job of finding accomplished artists to interview— many of whom I have already know and whose work I like, as well as artists who are new to me. The interviews are informative and inspiring. I’m always glad to have listened to one and often go back and listen to my favorites again.
2021-08-29
6. Love this podcast - Every episode contains valuable information from interesting artists working in a variety of media and using different techniques. The interviewer asks important questions, gives her guests time to respond and does not intrude on her guests with irrelevant observations. Look forward to the podcast and wish it were more frequent in its offerings.
2021-07-27
7. Great guest artists and host - I’m trying to teach myself how to paint and came across this podcast. I would guess that this show is great for all levels of painters. The guests are so fun and enthusiastic. The host asks great well thought out questions. The show has a nice flow I couldn’t find with other painting podcasts. The best part of this show for myself as a new painter is how each guest artist motivates you. While helping you to stay positive. That’s so important to me as a beginner. They’ve help me realize I’m on a journey that will only get better with time. Thank you!!

8. Absolute GOLD for artists of all levels - Had to write a review because this wonderful podcast so deserves all the stars! As a beginning painter, discovering this podcast really did feel like I had struck gold. Kelly Anne Powers asks such insightful questions that get to the absolute heart of each artist’s experiences, motivations, techniques, work practices, philosophies and so much more. Bright, inspired conversations with incredible artists of all types of media. I am learning about artists I had never known (so glad that I am!) Enlightening to visit their websites and see their artworks. I am treasuring each episode, and know that I will go back and listen to them again.
2020-11-19
9. The Podcast I’ve Been Dreaming of - Honestly this podcast is so perfect. Kelly asks all the right questions. I’m a mom of two little kids, so my actual painting time is limited, but this podcast helps me feel inspired and like I’m actually gaining something in my down time. Love it, and please keep ‘em coming!!
2020-09-04
10. Several workshops worth of how-to - This is one of the most useful podcasts out of the many I listen to. Although the focus is painting, there is a lot of crossover with other art/craft pursuits. There are many ideas and tips for how to start and keep working, gain confidence in your ability, and find your own creative slant. Kelly Anne Powers is an ideal host. Her pleasant voice, intelligent questions and habit of letting the guest respond fully mean you get the most from each episode. The artists on the show work in many different mediums and styles, and all are generous in sharing detailed lessons on color, values, composition, materials, and tools. You will learn a lot from listening.

1. The show on Rahsaan Thomas is an important listen - I really want to commend the Art Angle team for their very respectfully done episode with Rahsaan Thomas of Ear Hustle fame, who recently curated an online exhibition of work by artists in San Quentin and who is currently incarcerated himself. The fascinating and honest conversation goes right to Thomas’ point — that proximity to people who are incarcerated is key to seeing this population as more than numbers. A highly recommended listen.

2. Excellent for beginners and more invested - Well paced. Full of accessible examples to engage listeners at all levels. Super timely material, as well as more historical or granular topics on the art world and art history. Excellent material for art history students at the beginning and more advanced levels.

3. Great Topics & Excellent Reporting - During this pandemic podcasts have become my greatest source of pleasure/ information/ entertainment. It can be difficult to find podcasts that move swiftly and deliver good substance. The Art Angle consistently delivers on all counts. The most recent episode on Ann Geddes was nothing short of provocative and brilliant. Hugely recommend these weekly episodes. Well done. Episode w/ Melissa Smith conveyed NOTHING if substance- and she uptalked throughout:(((

4. Super good for serious art lovers - This is a highly intelligent podcast that is completely clued-in to the the contemporary art scene in a way that is relevant for both well-versed participants and anyone that wants to understand what’s going on in art today. I hope this podcast goes on forever! Thanks for the insight that an insider can provide for someone like me that is keenly interested but not a part of the scene on a regular basis by virtue of my lack of a specific role in the industry. I’m an attendee pure and simple which makes me irrelevant to those that are in the know. I don’t get invited to parties at ABM but I’m always there looking, thinking and interested, trying to keep current with the new trends and thirsty for the type of information this podcast provides.

5. Great find - I really enjoy the mix of experts that they have found to comment on the art world. I’ve always been intrigued by Artnet but, as one casually interested in the art world, I never find I have enough time to peruse their resources and offerings — this podcast was sort of perfect for me. Also really enjoyed the interview with Artnet founder Hans Neuendorf

6. Finally, a great art podcast - I feel like all the other attempts at art-themed podcasts were either too broad—art history –or too esoteric—long, unedited rambling conversations between pros. Here’s one that feels relevant, even urgent, as it examines and contextualizes what’s happening in the gallery, museum, and auction house worlds. A must-listen.

Who Arted is art history and art education for everyone. 1. I’m Not An Art Expert - But for this show, it doesn’t matter. I was pleasantly surprised to listen to this podcast and not feel intimidated by the subject matter. The host Kyle makes even the most advanced art topics digestible to the art novice like myself. Really can’t wait to listen to more episodes and I am so glad I discovered this pod on Twitter. 1. The Passion of the Host is Plain to See - Jennifer can make even an episode about art and artists that I don’t really like sound interesting. Smart but approachable, this podcast is for anyone from newcomers to MFA’s. Plus, new sorts of content like her books and the art news episodes show that Jennifer still has a lot to offer.
2023-01-16
2. Keep Jennifer Podcasting - I’ve been listening to ArtCurious podcast for some months now and look forward to her new episodes with real anticipation. I like her sort of informal, narrative yet erudite approach to her topics. I’ve always enjoyed art history but my experience is not extensive, so I’ve appreciated the expansion she provides on specific works of art, of well known artists, but also deserving lesser knowns, often women who have made unknown contributions! I hope you will listen to her wide array of available podcasts, past and present, and join me in providing her support in this difficult time for podcasting! Knowing More in NYC

3. Wonderful product/content - These episodes are wonderfully researched and produced. They are well put together and fascinating in their subject. Listening to them greatly supplements my studies in my university art history classes, plus some fun facts and insights that aren’t usually discussed! The only suggestion I would have is to include a catalog of sorts to make it easier to find all of the interviewed guests and their books! And I’m not sure about the computer version, but at least on the mobile version, the pop up ads make the website difficult to navigate.

4. GREAT! - It’s been so long since I was in an art history class so it is nice to get a new perspective on this intriguing subject. Im so grateful for the host and her scholarly research and the attempts to pronounce names correctly, a task most people online do not bother with. The only criticism I have is, now that you have run through all the “usual suspects” of art history, how about some fresh perspectives. I’d like to see a series on female surrealist, like Remedios Varo, Dorothea Tanning and Leonora Carrington to name a few. How about a new take on Tamara De Lempicka? Fernando Botero, so misunderstood as the guy who paints “fat people “ could use a thorough review. Let’s shed some light on some well deserved art masters that might not be so familiar. I love the women behind the art series you did!

5. Wonderful podcast - I started this series a little curious how a podcast about art history would work. Jennifer is an engaging storyteller. She helps me understand the history of the piece and about the history of the author. Jennifer tells the stories in well thought out, but tight narratives. After you get caught up with this series, check out the series on women artists of the renaissance.

6. I love the podcast podcast - Oh I absolutely love this podcast since my parents made me refrain from listening to scary podcasts I found this one and I am like I’ll try something newAnd I’m so glad I did because this podcast is the best thing that has ever happened to me so thank you,Jennifer thank you so much for making this podcast I love it love it love it

7. I tell anyone who will listen about this! - This is the first podcast thats ever held my attention. Not just hold it but KEEP me coming back to binge shows while I work or travel or clean..anywhere I have a moment. Thank you for introducing so many fabulous and important women artists! My year old son even listens with me in the car, creating wonderful conversations between us. Thank you!

8. LOVE!! - Oh man, how I love this podcast. It’s been on my list for SO LONG and this past week I finally gave it a listen…and I’m already nearly half-way through all of the episodes! I’m a full-time artist so I spend most of my working hours listening to podcasts, and as a previous art-history major, I feel so fulfilled to have found Jennifer Dasal’s work. But the thing is, this podcast is for anyone. I will absolutely be recommending this even (and maybe especially) to friends that don’t think art is that interesting; this is sure to change their minds. Jennifer is a master storyteller, and the topics she chooses to focus on are extremely engaging and fascinating. Obsessed.

9. Great podcast! Needs to get out of Europe :) - I listened to all the episodes since discovering this show last month. Very entertaining and interesting! I love to hear the stories and am inspired to look up the art Jennifer talks about. I feel like I learned a lot about European art. Would be great to hear more about art and artists from Asia, Middle East, Africa, etc. So far I think there were only two episodes about non-European art. Thanks so much Jennifer and team and keep it up! I do skip the commercials though, kind of a lot of those

10. Loving this podcast! - I am so surprised to find such an exciting podcast on Art History. I minored in art and am about to begin teaching art, and wanted to start brushing up on my art history. I researched and found this podcast. I’m SO happy I did. I am so intrigued and have caught myself eager to listen to the next episode.

11. Obsessed with ArtCurious - I’m so happy I discovered this podcast! I love it so much. I’m glad I have so many seasons to work through (since I’m so late to the game), but I will be devastated once I run out of new episodes. Jennifer Dasal is a wonderful writer and her delivery is excellent. She has an infectious energy and enthusiasm for art and the episodes focus on the same aspects of art history that I enjoy. Can’t recommend enough!

12. Great but... - This is a great podcast and has many details that it’s worth a listen. The topics are well chosen and researched and alternate perspectives are presented. The one downside is that each episode has - minutes of ads so the playtime is misleading. I believe the author cares very much about sharing her love of art but it appears she also cares the same amount about sharing ads with us.

13. Love it - I love this podcast, and when I checked out the audio ebook from the library, I sent an email asking if there was a pdf of accompanying artwork, Jennifer herself responded with a super-sweet email and the pdf that I asked for…I think art is so much more wonderful when you know something about it…and even though i live in BFE Arkansas, I am just minutes away from Crystal Bridges and sometimes I just go there to people watch…I once followed around a group of -something yr old boys/men in wife-beaters and swim trunks and watched them exuberantly interact with the art…and since that day I’ve tried to do both - learn as much as I can about art, and then forget everything and look at it like it is feet tall right in front of me and the ‘shrooms are starting to kick in, lol

14. Perfect Way To Get Into Art History - I looooove this podcast. It’s informative and very well researched. I have always wanted to learn more about art history and this podcast keeps me engaged and curious for not only the artists but I find myself wanting to delve deeper into those time periods and places mentioned as well. Keep doing what you guys do!
2021-05-11
15. Commercial overkill - The content is great, and Jennifer does such a wonderful job of bringing art history to life and contextualizing it. But the commercials are just over the top. - minutes worth of commercials in every single episode. Commercials in the beginning, commercials at the end, a minute long commercial break in the middle, and sometimes - more commercial breaks in addition to that? I broke down one episode I was listening to and roughly -% of it was commercials and bumpers. I understand the need to see some profit from investing so much time and energy into something but this is extreme.

16. Intellectual Art Diagnostics - No random banter, I know sometimes that fun, but I appreciate the real historic facts. Best art podcast I’ve listened to in years. So sad I’ve missed out on this podcast for this long. Can’t wait to go through all these episodes and recommend them to people I know.
2021-02-22
17. Best Podcast Ever - Jennifer is a wealth of knowledge, has such a good speaking voice and riveting storytelling ability, and she brings a little bit of art into my week and makes it better each time I listen. This is a great podcast for art lovers and art laymen. It can be a bit heavy on ads, but I’m all for supporting a working woman led show with my time and money.
2021-01-22
18. Informed and genuine - Jennifer’s authenticity, professionalism, and enthusiasm are engaging and effective. These podcasts are well-researched, carefully prepared, and effectively delivered. There’s a fair amount of buzz-phrasing, cliches, and over-generalizations throughout, but for most listeners, who may be encountering much of the content for the first time, this may well be a plus. Jennifer avoids focusing solely on the artists and artworks that have already received massive coverage, but avoids getting into inconsequential esoterica. Beautiful speaking voice!

19. An Oasis for Art Lovers - This show is not only a welcome distraction from everything else going on in the world, but a fantastic way to learn about art—both the familiar and unfamiliar. I’m especially enjoying this new season, covering the stories behind some of the most astronomically priced artworks ever. Fascinating listen! Thank you and keep up the great work!!

20. Great Information but long ads - I've been listening to this podcast as I paint and I feel so inspired by the stories told that I believe i'm doing some of my best work. Extremely well researched. I love the true crime tilt to a lot of the subject matter. Exactly what I was looking for in a new podcast, I've been binging it!
However my one criticism is how many commercials there are. It feels like half the episodes are ads.

1. Episode !!! Incredible insights! - Every photographer or artist should listen to this episode. Chris Grunder had so many amazing moments, I will have to Re listen and take notes! The questions about “is photography an art” and all the information shared is exactly the kind depth of knowledge I have been looking for! You can’t find this kind of information on Instagram. I really appreciate your podcast and elevating the conversation. Amazing interview! I could use another hour with Chris! That university is lucky to have him. Awesome job! Dang. Just so so so thought provoking. Ok. I just listened to ! Damien Lovegrove’s work is old Hollywood! He has confirmed my love of hard light! I was recently mentored by an amazing photographer who has her masters in fine arts, teachers at notable institutions. She surprised me when she asked me to choose a style of light. And stick with it to create my style. I love all light styles but as I move into year of my career I am drawn to hard light & shadows. He also mentions the use of the phone camera and it is a huge tool for me. I didn’t even know what was possible with the phone camera’s until I upgraded to a new model. It’s liberating. Unpretentious. I love it! I even teach classes now for phone photography. It’s just crazy. Awesome podcast! I will definitely listen to your podcast on a regular! I really appreciate your hard work and sharing such brilliant information. This podcast is for all levels. Not just the rookies:)

2. Highly recommend! - I came across this podcast as I was starting out in my photography journey and I found it to be so helpful that I went all the way back to the first episode and have been going through the entire series. I’ve learned so much from Raymond and his guests and highly recommend it to all. Not only have the episodes been super helpful, but I reached out to Raymond over email when purchasing my first camera and he responded very quickly with the most thoughtful and helpful response. I’m so thankful for Raymond and his podcast!

3. Incredible, entertaining, and very informative content! - I started listening to Raymond about a month ago and I am already podcasts deep. His interviews with successful artists and their stories has really made me step up my game and be more creative in my business. There are some interviews about creativity that are so enlightening that it has made look at life in a different way, and I am thankful for that. 4. So Much More Than A podcast - I found this podcast a while ago and I’ve been listening for a few years. The content is top notch and the interviews with photographers of all genres are inspiring and enlightening. I also enjoy the interviews with members of the BPP Facebook group. That’s where the title comes from. The Facebook group is an amazing resource of supportive individuals. It’s more than a podcast but even without the Facebook group the information contained in these episode will help you learn and master your camera.

5. Entertaining educational and packed with value - This podcast is great. I found it and started at the beginning and I listen all day at work. Raymond is easy to listen to, and asks all the questions I want answers to. The podcast is fun, thought provoking and encouraging. Raymond and his guests share a wealth of knowledge in a way that’s easy to understand and leave me motivated and excited to try and learn new things with my camera. I’ve had the privilege of meeting Raymond in person and was surprised to find that Raymond was more than enthusiastic to not just meet me - a novice, still in camera kindergarten - but also spend hours chatting and sharing information and insight on photography. Raymond is passionate, knowledgeable and laser focused on providing a truly valuable podcast. In summary, if you’re a photographer, you shouldn’t miss this podcast. Thanks Raymond - keep up the good work.

6. Top Notch - As a photographer who’s just starting out in business and creative this is just such a good podcast. I feel like I’ve searched so many avenues for this content and it was here all along. Thanks for what you do to make this podcast great. It hits so many different types of photography and there are just so many great gems in these episodes even if the overall theme doesn’t apply to what each and every person listening is doing. I’m motivated to go and shoot or try something new after every listen! Keep it coming!

8. The Best Podcast - One to two days a week, I have a commute that lasts a little over an hour - each way. Although the radio is a good way of passing the time, I stumbled across this podcast and found it is a true gem. I love photography, I love taking photos, and learning more about the art. This is the best podcast I have come across. Not only is the topic of photography discussed, but also goals, successes, and challenges of those in photography and their personal thoughts. The mindset of this podcast is absolutely wonderful. Listening to this podcast gets me more excited to be out and about shooting photos. As I listen to the discussion, I find myself looking out the car window and thinking - what am I seeing? Is there a photo? Light? Whatever level you are at, this podcast deserves a listen. Thank you so much for developing this learning resource!! Scott

10. This is the one! - If your lost, stagnant, or don’t know where to start in photography this is the podcast for you. This has helped me grow and get the confidence to call myself a photographer and believe it. The community spotlight episodes are amazing! The community is just welcoming and super helpful. The class auto to amazing Raymond does helped me so much, I thought I had a grasp of the basics but kept forgetting one important thing and got blurry photos missing the moments. This podcast and classes made it click, now I don’t want to go anywhere without my camera.

11. WOW! - I just got done listening to the latest episode with Dan Milnor and I love this particular episode so much. I love how authentic the conversation went and how unscripted it was. This podcast has been so inspiring and empowering in my beginning of photography journey. I would recommend this podcast to everyone…not only photographer! Lastly, big applause for the host, Raymond, for making this community happened for us. Thank you!

At the beginning of the pandemic, I stopped listening to all other podcasts. It’s brought the focus and encouragement I needed to level up my skills and to make time to keep working. He finds expert photographers from different backgrounds and the interviews are always enjoyable and informative. I also took one of his online courses and learned so much. He’s a great teacher. 15. My favorite podcast - MY FAVORITE PODCAST I’ve listened to the podcast for over a year and always enjoy the positivity, the education, and the inspiration Raymond brings with each and every episode. Raymond is a kind and motivational teacher when talking to beginners; and he skillfully pulls out great tips and takeaways when interviewing experts. He never runs out of interesting topics and guests, which no doubt requires a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Because of the podcast, I also learned about Raymond’s FaceBook group and free presets he provides as value-added benefits, and these have been great. I’ve been studying photography for years now, and Raymond is one of the mentors who keeps me jazzed up about the journey. This podcast has been a bright and positive light during the pandemic. We could all use more positive vibes these days, so tune in if you need some of that!

18. Great Podcast and Community - I typically do not write reviews but this podcast has influenced me so much in my photography journey that I felt obligated to let others know. I’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time and I am constantly being inspired to get out and shoot more. Raymond is a talented interviewer and I usually get something out of every episode whether it is technical knowledge or a good dose of motivation. The community that has risen out of this podcast is an anomaly in itself. I am a member of a few photography groups but this one is the most encouraging and respectful.

19. Love it! - I found the show by total accident on the road driving over Thanksgiving, not worried about the ratings I started listening and love it! Like episode , I'm also a special education teacher, trying to turn my hobby into a job that'll I'll be successful in when I move abroad.
