1. FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS - This book is very well written and detailed. The author definitely did extensive research and definitely honored the Marines and Sailors that fought for our tomorrow. Strongly recommended to all servicemen and civilians so we can remember the sacrifices a few good men and women of our nation give up for the cause of freedom. Proud to be called United States Marine. Thank you Mr. Bradley

1. Lies - Brandon Webb is a pathological liar. While the man was a SEAL he never served a lick of combat in his entire career. The majority of this book is filled False bravado, heavily embellish stories and writ with false bravado, heavily embellish stories and blatantly told out right lies. You ask anyone that he serve with in the teams and they will tell you the exact same thing I am.

1. Hitlers Last Days - This is like reading a high school condensed version of this period during World War II. It has no passion, no dramatic tension, and is casual to the point of breeziness. The men and women who fought to save the world from the scourge of Naziism deserve more than this. So many books do a much greater job of reporting and analyzing the WWII events. This reads like the author made a list and Googled for content. This is a mess.

2. Not one of his best efforts - I've read almost all of Bill O'Reilly's work and find him entertaining and informative. Hitler's Last Days fell short of the mark. There was too much focus on the Allies and their maneuvering and not enough on the man. I expected a deeper dive on Hitler. Also, it felt like there was considerable overlap between this book and Killing Patton (which was significantly better). Not his best but won't prevent me from reading his other books.

1. Amazing book! - This book is very interesting and you learn a lot. There are so many characters you get better at using context clues and piecing things together to remember who everyone is. Since many characters aren’t mentioned for many pages and then mentioned again. I highly recommend this book and you learn a lot of valuable information and it tells the story of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It in-depth describes the experience of murdering him and the entire story. It goes in-depth of some things that you can see when visiting the memorial and what it is like today! Highly recommend it! Great book!

2. Great book! - We read this in class and it was great! Good description, and i could fit right into the assassins shoes. But things, ) this is for classroom use. This version has been simplified for school use. Swanson has other books on the topic and I recommend them. I just don't like that it randomly switches perspectives. I sometimes got lost due to this. "Wait. Why is booth in Stewards house?" But thats my only complaint.

3. Loved this - This book was so well written and informative. I had no idea I bought the scholastic version of this but I still loved it! So much I did not know. being that this is a true story of Abraham Lincoln's assassination, it was written in a way that I could not put the book down and was shocked by how little I knew about that event and the days following.

1. A heart touching tragedy - This book both gave me a better view on the suffrage of the Jews of the Holocaust, and touched my heart to know what they went through without giving up. If people could hold as much kindness and as much courage as this man did after his horrific youth today, the world would be changed forever. Words cannot express the amount of respect and the special place in my heart that this story will have with me for the rest of my life. This book was worth every minute. Thank you for this.

2. it made me cry - I am years old and this was my summer reading book for rising sixth grade. This was my first book about the Holocaust because i was too scared i would cry which i did. I will recommend this book to anyone who wants a book that is amazing and sad. I can wait to watch Schindler's List with my mother.

3. Great Story, Amazing book - I read this book on paperback for a school book club, and enjoyed it a lot. The author described his experiences in a way that was easy to understand, but still know the sorrow and challenges he faced. If you want to know more about the Holocaust, but with a happy ending, this book is definitely a must read.

4. Inspiring - I'm not avid reader, and even more I'm not one to write a review on something, but this book is something different and needs to be spoken about and shared. The Holocaust is something I've always had a fascination with due to the sheer terror of the event and the fact that it's hard to think that humans can be capable of such horror. Leon Leyson is a remarkable story teller, being able to share the narrative of his tragic childhood. The unimaginable terror that Leon and his family had experienced is gut wrenching and unexplainable; however, within the tragedy that resides within these pages lies a sense of peace in the end. Not a peace that leaves one to forget, but a peace that only keeps alive the memories of those who lost so much. Thanks Leon for sharing your story as I can only imagine how difficult it was to continue to retell and relive those terrible memories. You have taught so many people so much, and have humbled me to never forget how fortunate I am for what I have been given. I hope for that same realization for all who read this amazing story of courage, perseverance, and sheer determination. Rest in peace Leon Leyson!

5. The Boy On The Wooden Box - Leyson's autobiographical tale begins in a happy, carefree childhood in Poland and describes the disintegration of respect for humanity with the German invasion of Poland, the internment of the Jews and his personal physical, social, and psychological trauma throughout. When Schindler adds him into his factory, he is saved from death several times more and share with us his view of humanity and heroism. Leyson goes on to document his personal experience with freedom and his gradual success with full integration into American life. Throughout it all he demonstrates a capacity to focus on the essentials in life and as an adult to find joy in the simple pleasures of life.

1. Interesting take on the Manhattan Project - A fascinating and unusual approach to telling the incredible story of the Manhattan Project. Focused on the intense competition and espionage surrounding the effort to build the bomb, this slice of history provides new insights into the motivations and vulnerabilities of the main characters in this dramatic piece of World War II history.

2. Spellbinding - This book really kept my interest. Didn't think I'd like a non fiction historical book so much. Author does a great job of building the characters to keep your interest. The espionage kept it exciting. Highly recommend this as a story that has not yet ended and for which we are all apart. We need to know the history of this terrible weapon.

3. Intriguing - This is a great summer reading suggestion for th/ th graders studying American History. The movie, "Fat Man and Little Boy", follows the Manhattan Project and Oppenheimer, elaborating on the ethical questions and physical dangers of the bomb. This however includes the Soviets goals and successes in stealing the recipe, as well as the real time race against the Nazis who were our intended target when the work at Los Alamos first began.

4. Really good and developed book - The book was interesting since I started to read and I wanted to read more and more. I am inspired of making a movie about it since I want to be a writer, director, and actor. I am only years old and have had my interest in performing arts since I was or . Loved the novel.

1. Insightful and gripping. - A fascinating biography of a true American hero and warrior. The authors captured my attention from the first page and I couldn’t put this down. Very interesting perspective of the Battle of Mogadishu from someone who fought valiantly and was injured. I would much rather hear this perspective than any journalist’s spin. Well done Dr. Wasdin and Dr. Templin!

1. Five Star book!! - If there was ten stars I'd give it that! I actually got this book from the library and it was so good! I loved learning about them. At some point in time my ancestors (Poland) were under the Romanov rule. It was very cool to find out how WW broke out! Then how Poland was not apart of Russia anymore. So interesting Candace Fleming did an absolutely beautiful job with this book!

2. The Family Romanov: Murder, Rebellion, and the Fall of Imperial Russia - I do understand that this is a book for teens, but I was still disappointed. I think when it comes to history we have a duty to our kids to be accurate and honest. I feel that it does a disservice to leave out very important events, such as the Russo-Japanese War, and the role of extended family in the creation of, and attitudes towards life and historical events involving the Imperial Family. I really felt that the author had no, or very few positive feelings or empathy towards Nicholas II and his family. I even felt that the children were unfairly maligned when all they were guilty of was being children. I did really like the "Beyond the Palace Gate" segments. It was an excellent contrast.
There was an error in one of the photo portraits of the family, where Olga and Tatiana were switched.

1. Inspirational - A very inspiring story about a family who never gave up. It was hard to put down. The strength and fortitude that this family put forth was beyond anything that I could imagine. The writing was well balanced and the lack of hatred towards people who harmed them is remarkable. Everyone should read this book to gain insight in how to overcome the worst thing imaginable.

2. Required Reading - Thank you Michael for telling your story. I remember meeting an uncle that still had his numbers when I was a kid. To my recollection he was at Auschwitz as well. Anyway my point is these are stories that are vital to share with the world so that we can never forget. This is an extremely well written book and a very special story. I really wish I could meet this amazing family one day. Everyone should read this book especially with what is going on in the world today. If you can read this and not feel any differently about life after then you will need to read it again. Once again thank you Michael you have done the world a great service with your bravery in telling your story.

1. Truth is crazier than fiction - I don’t usually get into nonfiction this much, but this was beyond interesting. Somehow I never knew about most of it. I felt amazed actually to be so clueless about a part of fairly recent American history. Some parts were really exciting like when he was on the run and getting parts of the classified documents printed. I just wonder if I would have been more into History when I was in school if I would have had to read something like this.
