7. The book I didn’t know I needed to read! - This book answered so many questions about my own behavior and mental health I could never answer on my own. Dealing with anxiety, stress or depression can be overwhelming, and Jennie Allen knows exactly where I’m coming from. She backs up everything with scripture and personal experiences. Listening to this audiobook and how she speaks with such a soothing and gentle tone was like meditation for me. The Best Way to Start Your Day - I believe this is my th year, maybe more of reading Jesus Calling every morning.Each day I go through it and I I highlight in diiferent colors, all that I beleive is noteworthy, all references to His Peace, all refernces to His Presence, and everything that I feel is very important. 3. Stick with your Bible - Read Revelation :- This book is adding to the Word of God, which has already been completed. This is a serious offense to add in an “extra part” when Jesus specifically says not to do so! Stick with reading the Bible, it’s much more helpful and should always be the ultimate authority in a Christian’s life. I try not to say this in a hateful way, but please don’t depend on devotionals, no matter how compelling or interesting it may be. Reading the Bible daily is much more beneficial.

4. THANK YOU SO MUCH! - My son came out at and he’s now. His dad and I didn’t take it very well and we were very hurt because we had different ideas of living than he did. I learned a lot in this book. I’ve recently given my life back to God and I wanted to know if I was doing the right things to make my son still feel loved even though I’m stronger in my faith than ever. 5. Finding Peace - This book has saved my sanity and possibly life. I am caregiver for my spouse who is stage dementia (years).There is no peace to be found with the exception of God’s Peace. These devotions have let me be receptive and allow God to surround me. 3. Loss of a child - I lost my beautiful year old daughter to suicide on // and I was devastated but more than that, I was terrified. What happened to her, is she trapped somewhere? All these and other agonizing questions plagued me. This book gave me so much hope and it helped my heartache. Great book at a special time in my life - Over the past several years my health has begun to fail and I have been diagnosed with auto immune diseases and a host of other ailments for which I am taking some powerful drugs to control. That being said, I realize more than ever that, while my health is currently fairly steady, it could take a bad turn at any time. I saw the author on Fox News Channel promoting the book and it intrigued me. I've been in church all my life and decided to download and read the book from iTunes. It has given me inspiration and a new and different perspective than what I previously had. The insights in this book and the encouraging theme have been special to me and I'm so glad I took the time to read it. While I took care of my salvation many years ago, after reading the book I feel even more excited to get to heaven one day and see the Lord and everything He has created for me! Great book. Incredible read - so awesome - My dad (who died of cancer when I was ) had a NDE and I found it fascinating that what my dad described was almost verbatim to what others inside the book experience. As a Christian this book gives me so much hope, joy and excitement I can’t put it into words. It’s a fun, fascinating read and gripping - and I love too how Burke brings in people from all walks of life, all ages, nationalities, religions, etc., and shows that they all have common elements of their NDE experiences. Also love how it proves and ties into what the Bible says Heaven is like. All in all one of the most important and profund books I’ve read in my life as a Christian. Get it and devour it - it is water for your thirsty soul! :)

8. Incredible Book - I've had an interest in near death experiences for a long time. Every time I would start reading a book or an article on the subject I became frustrated because they were so filled with "New Age" or "Eastern Religious" junk that I would quit reading. This is the only book I've read that looks at so many experiences from all over the world and looks at them from a Biblical view. How refreshing it has been. I would highly recommend this book because it will not only excite your spirit for things to come but build your faith that Jesus truly did go to prepare a place for you .... And what a place it is!

1. Informative - Boundary issues have been a huge issue for me in my life and I found this book to be a good read on the subject. While I'm not used to reading books that center Christian principles, I did find the biblical references interesting and the overall content on what boundaries are, how they work and how to develop them helpful. The hardest part for me is going to be figuring out how to find a support group, which the authors say is key to success.

4. Great book - It's really a great book. It helped me to understand differences between many things that I personally struggled with like forgiveness and reconciliation, boundaries in friendships, differences between loving and obligations and many other things. It would definitely help anyone who feels that people are taking advantage of me or people are abusing me etc... 4. Another Solid Resource From Keller - I downloaded this book onto my school-purchased iPhone for several reasons: . Tim Keller - I enjoyed reading The Prodigal God, watching The Gospel of Life, and listening to numerous sermon clips and interviews of his. . The Subtitle - Sometimes I struggle finding joy in tasks that God has required me to do, but I want to rejoice always. . Cost - The book was under a buck so I couldn't pass it up. The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness consists of four short chapters, and I was able to finish the book on a bus ride home from work. Chapter one is called The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness, chapter two is entitled The Natural Condition Of The Human Ego, chapter three is The Transformed View Of Self, and the final chapter is How To Get That Transformed View Of Self. Chapter one opens up with two immensely important questions: . "What are the marks of a heart that has been radically changed by the grace of God?" . "If we trust in Christ, what should our hearts be like?" In The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness, Pastor Keller focuses on a section of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians: Cor. :-:. In this passage we are shown that the church in Corinth is divided due to pride and boasting. Like the Corinthians, we often look at ourselves too highly. This is something I have done all too frequently and something I continue to battle. Additionally, many people are on the other side of the spectrum and feel they suffer from a low self-esteem. We help people to combat this by telling them they are somebody; however, this is totally the wrong approach. We cannot build ourselves up by meeting our own standards or society's standards. This doesn't work. Apart from Christ, we will never be satisfied with ourselves. Our ego always desires more, and we get hurt in the process. We constantly desire to accomplish more in order to feel like we're somebody important. God expects us to deny ourselves and look to Him. God is to be our audience, not the world. We must seek to bring attention to our Awesome God and not to ourselves. The only way we can do this is by looking to the finished work of Christ on the cross. It is He who declares us innocent so we can live this life full of joy and be prepared for a life of pure joy in Heaven. If you are looking for a quick read that is biblically sound, I recommend Keller's book to you. Pastor Keller preaches to a few thousand intellectuals in Manhattan every Sunday yet his book can be understood by those new to the faith. The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness does not use complex theological terms, and deep thoughts and discussions should result from reading the book. Although I still struggle to find joy in some daily tasks, reading Keller's book is a great reminder of how I should be thinking. At the back of the book you will find a few thoughts and questions for reflection, end notes, and a list of Keller's books.

6. Must read - I am someone who is in front of others frequently. I struggle with what others think about me all time. 8. This is a wonderful short study of pride, ego and beyond. - I love reading Dr. Keller's books and would really like to see more short works like this one. This study of pride and ego is discussed through the lens of Corinthians :-:. As with all his work, Dr. Keller manges to take dense theology and bring it forward to address modern challenges for the thoughtful Christian. This is a wonderful book previous readers of his works will enjoy, but it's also a great introduction for,those who have not read his work.

9. Radically incredible - I am seminary educated, ordained and been a Christ following pastor for over a decade. I have never heard nor ought about this - just hours ago I was encouraging the modern self-esteem philosophy, as Keller calls it, totally missing the mark clearly set in this pamphlet's message. Like Prodigal God, every Christ follower who wants to think Biblically must read, meditate, discuss and seek to follow both Paul and Keller's words here. Prophetic. Radical. Incredible. I can only pray God develops this mind- and heart set in me and those I come in contact with.

1. A Must Read - I definitely have problems of getting stuck in my head and worrying constantly, I heard about this book on a podcast I listen to. I am so glad I gave it a shot. This book really helped me see things for a different perspective and realize it’s not something wrong with me, it’s the enemy trying to distance me and distance me from my God, and what’s worse is I’m letting him get away with it!! 1. Beautiful - I’ve been listening to Pastor Greg’s sermons for several years. I’ve attended harvest riverside and the Orange County campus many times when visiting California. I’ve also had the privilege to go to a Harvest Crusade at angel stadium and then serve at the Harvest America here in Arizona. I’ve been blessed by Pastor Greg’s ministry so much. I’ve read a few books of his but they never connected with me as much as his preaching. I think it made a huge difference having Ellen Vaughn co-author this book with him. The book covers a lot of ground, some parts feel like a history book, other parts a biography and other parts feel like a book on spiritual growth and revival. I feel challenged after reading this to really examine where I’m at with my walk with Jesus. I’m inspired by the story to seek out my calling. It is definitely the best book I’ve read this year. Most of all, this book has inspired me to pray more than ever for a revival, a new Jesus movement. I’m years old and I really enjoyed all the background information and in as much as a book could, it helped me to see what the s really was like. I loved this book and I highly recommended it.

This is the story as seen by Greg Laurie of how God started a fire that blazed thought the hippie counter culture and caused them to embrace the gospel and discover a new way of living. I discovered new things about the generation that set the then established concept of following God and what church should look and be like on it’s ear. I agree with the passages that said that spiritually, many young people are fed up with conventional church, political Christianity that’s mad at everyone, and the faith virus of affluenza, today’s version of the prosperity gospel. Some pastors today instead of teaching the gospel are using their positions to push their own political views on the flock. I found that my ongoing love for Christian music that speaks to the soul, had it’s beginnings during the revolution. The word of God loving us so much that he sent his Son to die on the cross for us has not changed. It still has the power to redeem all because it’s the message that knows no boundaries. From the flower children to the current and future generations Gods word remains the same. I recommend this book to all ages. It gives insight to a time in America that has many similarities to today’s problems and ongoing social issues affecting all of us. 5. Second Time Through! - Second time reading through... Just as amazing! I first read this book years ago, and I didn’t even realize how much it had positively affected my thinking. Looking back, I didn’t really take it to heart or put much attention into the book; even so, it changed my boundaries! 5. Vital Doctrines Are Missing - My wife and I were given this New York Times Bestseller several years ago, and I read it a couple of times. The book is designed to be read over a course of days, which I did in my first reading, but in my second reading, I completed it in a few days. The Purpose Driven Life answers life's most important question: What on earth am I here for? If you don't know the answer, reading Warren's book will provide you the answer in a way that is easy to understand. Even if you are a Christian, this book provides some wise counsel that can help you live life for the glory of God. Unfortunately, there are some major elements lacking in this book. Vital doctrines that are missing include man's sinfulness and our need for a Savior, the substitute sacrifice of the sinless Christ who bore our sin on the cross. For a serious critique of Rick Warren's Purpose Drive Life (from a reformed perspective), I highly recommend visiting Tim Challies' blog.

2. Pray as you Read - This book was recommended by a great friend, I opened up to him & told him I felt stuck in my life all aspects, work, education, personal didn’t know what my purpose was. This book helped me to open up, learn about another culture and what certain things meant and applied it to my life. 2. Written Review - Mere Christianity Book Review Overall reading Mere Christianity makes you take a step back and think about your life and more precisely what it means to be a Christian. C.S. Lewis takes us through books, each with a Christian theme that intrigues the reader with philosophical views entertaining views from other religions and beliefs also. Having been an atheist converted to a Christian, C.S. Lewis does a very good job of giving examples of doubts we may have as people about the Bible, Jesus’s teachings, or what god is by answering them in his own unique way that applies to people. The way he explained what he meant resembled how Jesus taught in parables. After talking in considerably hard to understand vocabulary, he would come back with an explanation almost like a parable. He took the task of giving his explanation of how to live as a Christian and for me it was a very eye opening and intelligent book to read. The first subject C.S. Writes about addresses the human nature. He talks about a universal moral law that everyone essentially knows, but it their own decision whether to follow it or not. Doing good deeds or acting evil is not instinctive, but rather a choice we choose to make. C.S. Then goes on to explain the moral law and the many different beliefs or doubts of how and why it is apart of our human nature, eventually coming to a conclusion, his own belief, that there must be a god. After explaining the background of human nature and the roots of our actions, he talks about the idea of what God is. C.S. Goes into more detail about different religions and atheism, eventually telling his reasons why he chose to be a Christian. Once he explains why he chose to be a Christian, the next books talk about how to live like a Christian. Giving the principle values a Christian should live by and how to strengthen your relationship with God by living like Jesus, if you are a Christian or curious about the religion I would definitely recommend reading this book.

1. JESUS AND ANGELS CAME TO ME FROM THIS - I’ve been studying deliverance and this book had a prayer against Jezebel and I haven’t been delivered of her yet so I decided to read the prayer. I was hesitant (probably the demon hindering me) but I eventually read that prayer and then angels came in and held my arms down while the Holy Spirit used my voice to call out the demon and all my trauma to the light.
