1. Brilliant! - I love the lyrics in all her songs. She delivers each song with sincerity—not the usual pop hit pretensions. Her writing is like a mix of Natalie Merchant/Cheryl Crow. Her voice is incomparable, closest maybe to an angel singing. I’ll definitely look forward to her next project, she’s one to watch! Great debut album, love it!

2. work of heART. - It's very evident that Louisa pours her heart and soul into her music. Every song has beautiful lyrics that nudge your thoughts and send your into a colorful daydream. Louisa is as talented of a songwriter as she is a singer. Forget about popping in some earbuds to give this EP a listen; blast it from your speakers! With music this good, it would be a shame to keep it to yourself!

1. Why? - This album is total crap. The only good songs are Fine Line, I'm With the Band, To Know Love, Good Lord Willing, You're Gonna Love Me and Life In a Northern Town. All of the other songs are crap. The worst songs are Novocaine, Only What You Make of It, A Place to Land, Firebird Fly, Four Leaf Clover and the worst song on the album, Lonely Enough. I guess Vapor is good also. Only What You Make of It and Lonely Enough are both awful, though.

1. Songs that speak to your heart - I first saw The Ballroom Thieves Live in portsmouth, NH and since the moment they started playing i fell in love with their songs. Each one has some line that just sticks. Bullet is my favorite song! I cant wait to see them live again next month! True talent and passion here.

2. Amazing, Unique, Original, and Beautiful - I discovered the band a month ago when I saw them at Founders Brewing bad I instantly discovered a band that is authentic and original. It's a trio I've never seen before and couldn't wait to hear this album and since I got it I haven't stop listening and now I'm search for the next time I can see them. Get this album and enjoy truly powerful and unique music.

1. Forced - The music has the feel and sound of early s soft rock; worse yet, the singing is pitchy, and the lyrics -- the music, really -- feels forced and perfunctory. I am very confused by "Making Promises," which has the lovely harmony one would expect from the duo, but is mixed with instrumental that can only be described as "Beach Boys meets Cajun." Similarly, I keep expecting Jimmy Buffett to jump out in "We Get to Feel it All." "Share the Moon" and "John" -- while having delightful lyrics -- both suffer from a percussion track that sound as if they originate from that Sanyo keyboard you got as a kid. Finally, if the intro to Yoke sounds familiar, tune in to Macklemore's "BomBom (feat. The Teaching)" at : minutes. Same chord progressions. Not impressed.

1. Beautiful - Not to be repetitive but this is just a beautiful album. It has many layers yet it does not sound overproduced. It has a haunting quality at some moments. I am just so glad to have JLC creating new music. It's as if a wonderful friend you thought had lost has made a glorious return. I hope they stand around and never leave again.

2. Too Late - Well I guess I have to be the one to express this opinion. Everything that made JLC geniuses and ground breakers and years ago has since been developed and brought into the current moment by other acts. Earnest harmonies? Mumford and Sons. Seamless blending of classical instruments? Lo-Fang. Odes to pure pop/rock? Haim. Chillingly poetic lyrics? F TM. And yet JLC did it all, but not anymore. There’s nothing wrong with this album in the sense of poor musicianship or anything, but they could be any band, and that just breaks my heart. The good news is their first two albums are darn-near timeless, so at least I can listen to those.

3. JLC is back and better than ever - Jump Little Children is a band that is an experience. Their albums are meant to be heard as a whole and Sparrow is without exception. It’s beautiful to hear their roots while still witnessing how they have evolved over the years. I cannot express how amazing they are.

4. Long awaited art - Longtime fan ( years) and of course have been eagerly awaiting this. The reunions over the past couple of years were wonderful. And now we get this gift. The evolution of this band, how they grew as individuals, and their relationship with their fans make this one epic masterpiece. Je suis JLC. We are all JLC.

5. Amazing album from a long time favorite - I’ve loved JLC since the late ’s and like many fans, was devastated when they parted ways in . I kept their catalog in rotation from then until when they blessed us with a reunion tour and then in when they did it again. Hearing they would be making a new album was a gift and it’s so wonderful. If you’re a long time fan or new to these guys-don’t hesitate to press play and let this one go all the way through. JLC has been heavily featured in the soundtrack of my last years and this album will play a big role in the years to come. Thank you for this, guys. It’s stunning.

6. stars for the stars - Excellent album beginning to end. Anticipation of this album the night before the release was like waiting for Christmas morning as a kid. Je Suis Oblivion and White Buffalo are my two early favorites. I sure hope this album gets the recognition it deserves so that we don’t have to wait so long for the next one.

7. Ahead of their time, back with a bang! - This album is masterfully produced, and for those of us who were fortunate enough to discover Jump, Little Children during their first iteration it’s like catching up with an old friend who has matured and grown and mastered their craft. Voyeuropa, Je Souis Oblivion and The Protagonist Moves On are early favorites, yet the whole album creates a wonderful experience from start to finish.

8. Soaring ahead - The fifth studio album from this beloved band is by far the best of their work to date. Their -year hiatus has bred a complete work with great depth, wisdom and spirit. Starting with the opening bars of Sparrow, the listener is taken on a journey of love, heartache and hope all the way through to Boyhood. With catchy songs like Hand on My Heartache, Je Suis Oblivion and Voyeuropa, this album soars with melodic optimism and wondrous sentiment. It's as much a joy to listen to these tunes as it clearly was for this band to make music together again. If you're a fan of smart and lyrical Britpop bands like Snow Patrol, Travis or Keane, you'll love this album. A must have for any music aficionado!
2018-09-16
9. triumphant, evolved, yet true-to-their roots - The opening notes of ‘Sparrow’ will make new listeners swoon and bring tears to the eyes of any long-time Jump, Little Children fan. It’s clear that the band is back and better than ever. This album is a mature, confident mixture of their original baroque and Irish sounds, avant-garde stylings, and rhythmic rap / beat poetry with newly embraced electronic sounds. The raw musical talent, poetic lyrics and fun spirit that this band embodies are showcased in this masterpiece.
2018-09-16
10. Powerful Stuff - If you've read the other reviews I did, you'll have learned that this album comes to our ears after a -ish year hiatus. Not only did Jump, Little Children maintain the chemistry that made them fantastic in the s and early s, it (like their songwriting and musicianship) has improved with time. This album has something for everyone- the band's eclectic instrumentation isn't a gimmick. Rather, they've used their wide ranging esthetic to engage the right tools for the job, and the result is nothing short of inspired. I for one am grateful they're back, and for the time they took that allowed them to reach this new pinnacle.

11. Beyond Nostalgia - I listened to JLC when I was in college, and was excited about a new album. But nostalgia can only carry you so far, and I wasn’t sure if I would love the new stuff. I needn’t have worried. Turns out Sparrow is a lovely album in its own right. What a gift to have new music from one of my favorite bands!
2018-09-15
12. Beautiful Album - This album is beautifully poetic while fun and catchy at the same time! It melds together previous albums while also demonstrating the changes that have been made in the past - years. This album shows how the band matured in their absence, but I think it should resonate with people of all ages! Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!
2018-09-15
13. Jump, little Children is back and Sparrow is AH-MA-ZING! - Grown up Jump, Little Children sounds amazing! They have been the soundtrack of my life since I was years old. They are my favorite band and I can’t believe a new album actually happened. It’s a dream come true. Their new album Sparrow makes me so happy. It’s given me all the feels and I even shed a few tears listening to it. I love every song. Even if you’ve never heard of this band, you should check it out. If they are touring in your area, go see them. It will be one of the best live shows you’ve ever seen.
2018-09-15
14. Cannot. Stop. Listening. - So, I've listened to this album probably about times (or more) since it came out, and I still cannot stop. Jump Little Children has been my favorite band for almost two decades, and I think they are some of the most talented musicians around, but I am floored by how incredible this album is--even above and beyond the amazingness that I expected from this band. Go. Listen. Now. So good. Can't wait to see them on tour soon!
2018-09-15
15. Pure Perfection - This album is pure perfection. A true album where themes are cohesive throughout and the experience from begining to end is like taking a trip through light in dark places in the world and in your soul. Unexpected harmonies that delight and soar. Sparrow is perhaps the best opening track to an album I've ever heard. It pulls you in and just feels like going home. So many beautiful strings that just pull at the center of your being. I forgot that music could make you feel so much. One warning: You're not going to want to be interrupted while listening to this. Block out all the time needed for the whole album (a far too short twelve tracks), grab the best headphones you can find (and I'd also recommend a glass of wine), sit back, and revel in an auditory delight.
2018-09-14
16. Jump Little Children's Best - What an amazing comeback album! The pure talent of these guys shines here. These songs are musically complex with compelling lyrics. The whole array of instruments these guys have played before is there and then some. Plenty of strings for string players to fall in love with. This is an album that wasn't just recorded... it was CRAFTED. Everything you loved about the JLC of the past is multiplied. I'm excited beyond words about this music!

17. Sparrow- A Beautiful New Album - This is the first new album from the band since . The years apart doing different things has only strenghtend the band. This is their finest work. The opening moments of the album sound like a rebirth. You can hear the band coming back together. If you were a fan of the band's previous work, they still are unmistakablly Jump Little Children, but this album has a whole new sound compared to their previous ones. It's a sound that works very well. This is what you get when you put together incredible musicians with years of playing together. It is a truly beautiful piece of work. Start at the beginnging and listen straight through.

18. Worth the wait! - Listen, I’m not asking for another year gap between albums. But my goodness, this record is a stunning work of art, a master class in emotions and melodies and lyrical genius. It packs a nod to JLC albums of yesteryear while still presenting as completely new and fresh. I love it. I love it. I LOVE IT!

19. Sparrow Soars as an Epic Return for Jump, Little Children - It’s been years since their last studio album dropped, and at the time, it was set to be their LAST record created together as a band. The then Charleston, SC-based five-some had decided to hang up their boots and pursue other endeavors after their final shows wrapped up in . Ward Williams and Jay Clifford released solo projects, but the cohesive unit known as Jump, Little Children seemingly was done. However, once the band reunited for a handful of shows in , the handwriting was on the wall; the fans hadn’t forgotten them, and the demand to see them live was outstanding. The initial ticket sales for the reunion tour sold out in mere minutes, proving that this group of eclectic musicians still had a following, of which most of those followers had started families, so the fanbase for the group had also grown over their -year absence. When Jump, Little Children announced that they wanted to start writing new music together again, which was followed by an official tour/new album announcement and extremely successful crowd-funding campaign through Pledge Music in early-, anticipation built amongst the JLC faithful. What would a new Jump, Little Children album even sound like? How will years of life living and maturity change their writing process? How would it change their sound? “Sparrow” was released officially on //, answering these questions with veracity and definition. The -year drift DID change their sound. It DID change the way they approached writing and recording new material, and in the perspective of many within their passionately loyal fanbase, it all changed for the better. “Sparrow” is a masterpiece of sound. From the title track’s rising opening chords that emanate from Williams’ cello, Jonathan Gray’s bass, and Matthew Bivins’ accordion, to “Boyhood” closing with haunting delay, JLC’s fifth studio record excels in presenting a new, defined sound for the group as they step into the future post- year hiatus. Jay Clifford’s crisp, daunting vocals shine throughout the album, with an inclusion of Bivins’ signature style vocal additions giving a sexy edge to both “Voyeuropa” and “Reality Distortion Field,” but the entire album is tethered together by the exceptional foundation of drums and percussion created by Bivins’ brother, Evan. The dynamic us of different tempos and breaks on each track adds so much to the depth and character each song portrays, and shouldn’t go unnoticed for its importance. Jump, Little Children’s sound has evolved from to , from Irish-Folk-Rock to Post-Modern-Indie-NEW New Wave-Alt-Folk-Singer-Songwriter-Extravaganza. “Sparrow” debuted on iTunes at No. on the Singer-Songwriter charts for good reason: it is a really special work or art, created by a special band. It deserves to be enjoyed by the masses, and may redefine what defines success looks like for five incredibly talented friends that used to busk on a street corner in Downtown Charleston for rent money. Do yourself a favor, and buy this album for yourself, and then buy one for someone else. You will enjoy the “avenues to clouds”-flight that “Sparrow” will take you on.

20. They’re back! - This band defined my college days. Their last new music was over years ago, before iPhones and while social media was in its infancy. But their eclectic sound and creativity has stood the test of time. This new album shows maturity. It also keeps true to the fact that it’s hard to place their sound in a genre or compare to other bands. It’s simply great music!

21. Welcome back - It’s been too many years since we last listened to new music from Jump, Little Children. It was well worth the wait. “Sparrow” captures everything that caused me to fall in love with Jump’s music, beautifully arranged instruments, singable melodies, unexpected harmonies, and a feeling of warmth that wraps itself around your soul from the sound of the first chord. “Sparrow” is the best work of Jump, Little Children to date, and it surely will not be the last.

1. Desperate Pop - Eric balances heartfelt lyrics of despair and sad memories with bouncy pop melodies. The result grabs your attention by virtue of the sheer, unexpected contrast. Casual listening is not really an option, just like casual life was not an option for him, having experienced such calamity that inspired the album.
2023-03-19
2. A Perfect Pairing - Eric Peters has been singing beautifully and writing incredible songs for years now but I think the production on this record may have finally captured him at his pop-friendly zenith. Despite the sometimes heavy subject matter (which he handles deftly), Eric's melodies are undeniably catchy and his voice belongs on the radio. If you buy this record - and you should - you're going to find the sensibilities of a seasoned singer-songwriter paired with a refreshingly modern sound design that invites lots of re-listening. I hope Eric and Asher Peterson make many more records together.

3. Great album - great depth - Another great album from Eric. This album is one of his best so far. From what Eric has said it was a fight to get these songs. He took all the trauma of having his home obliterated and the chaos of the last couple years and gave perspective. They have more depth than even his usual songs. The Bread is one of my favorites because of the parallels between his experience saving the life of his son during the Nashville tornado and what communion symbolizes. Definitely recommend.

4. Perching on hope's repair... again - Another gem from this master craftsman. These songs drip with hard-fought lyrics that will speak to the depth of a thirsty soul. And the melodic folk-pop soundscape (thanks to Eric's songwriting and the production work of Asher Peterson) give a boyancy -- in some ways showcasing that life is often this tension between sorrow and joy. I'll be listening again and again and again!

1. wonderful collection - I'm a huge Chris Garneau fan so i stumbled across this. I also have loved Regina Sepktor for a long time, so i'm naturally happy with her being highlighted here. But this album gave me an exposure to some other artists that i wasn't familiar with. Great album for fan's of indie music and singer/songwriters. And if you dont have Chris Garneau's album...pick it up

2. Lovely Compilation - This is a really nice collection of today's rising singer/songwriter hidden gems. It's a delightful group on this particular album, highlights including: Regina Spektor's exposed and honest "Better," Hem's beautiful "Half Acre," Rachel Loshak's fragile "China Doll," and David Berkeley's "Fire Sign." I recommend this compilation to anyone looking for a new artist to love and enjoy, and if nothing else...a starting point for further musical exploration.

3. Favorite New Thing - Like the Secret Policeman's Ball records of yore, this record does what a live album is supposed to do: reveal the core of the tune, and often, the artist who is singing it. Martha Wainwright wails and shimmies; Regina Spektor pirouettes. Rachel Loshak's "China Doll" is chilling and defiant, a gem. If you're the type who downloads only one, this is the one. But almost all of these performances are superb, and immediate. This concert series allows for songwriters to reimagine their work for supportive audiences in unique, intimate settings. Joseph Arthur transforms "Crying Like A Man," from his first record, into a sort of cosmic dirge. Unlike the studio version, Jesse Harris' earnest take on "Slow Down" sounds less like an invitation to stay at the party and more like a warning to leave it, soon. And Chris Garneau, an Artists Den discovery, shows again here why his much-anticipated debut is sure to be one of the best records of .

4. I can't believe it's live! - These artists all sound excellent, are you sure it's live? I listened to the first two songs and it already had me hooked. (Even though I guess I am kind of biased, being such a fan of Regina Spektor and all). But even if I hadn't known it was her, I would have still loved the song, along with the rest of the album. If you're someone who likes songs that help you mellow out, the types of songs that you can fall asleep to (in a good way), then this is the perfect album!

1. Hot or What? - Absolutely BRILLIANT new album from Will Dailey (highly recommend his first one as well "Will Dailey and the Rivals". I discovered Will and several other up-and-coming musicians via Noisetrade (just so you know it was worth doing that, Will!) Oh, and don't forget to check out great first music video for Sunken Ship. Sick!! Tess
2014-11-07
2. Thoughtful, provoking, and musically moving…. - The inimitable Will Dailey has done it again. Back after regaining his musical independence, this fan driven album finds this Boston native in top form. Prepare to be swept away with ‘Castle of Pretending’ and resurface with the reggae buoyancy of ‘Sunken Ship’. This complete ALBUM - that’s right - listen to it ALL the way through - ends with a tribute to the fans who partook on its creation - indeed, Will, WE will ALWAYS be a band.

1. And again, Wow! - Every time you think Neal Morse can’t top himself - he does. This album is a collection of catchy songs that are well written and well performed. Neal is the ultimate storyteller in song. For the most part this album is light hearted with the exception of He Died at Home which has the capacity to make a strong man cry. Living Lightly, Good Love is on the Way, and Selfie in the Square are two standouts for happier sounding songs. This album does a good job of outlining the poppier side of Neal. This is great road music.
2018-04-09
2. One of Neal’s Best Singer-Songwriter Albums - Fans of Neal Morse already recognize his influence and mastery of modern-day Progressive rock. Beyond that though, many of us appreciate Neal’s gifts as an outstanding songwriter. This album clearly demonstrates the latter. Nice blend of songs including quite a few you would expect to hear on vacation or on a lazy summer day (Livin Lightly, Selfie on the Square, and my favorite Wave on the Ocean, which I can’t get out of my head). Neal brings some easy country feeling with songs like Old Alabama and Lay Low (which seems very easy-listening s). A lot of fun throughout the album, including Manchester (the ending will make you smile), songs with story-telling appeal like Good Love is on the Way, Joanna, and You Me Everything. But true to Neal, his compassion and heart come to light on the faith-based If I Only Had A Day and his very emotional social-conscious song He Died At Home which deals with the tragedy and reality of soldier suicide. It’s amazing what was packed in this album. I recognize a lot of great songwriters like Lennon, Simon, Joel and John, just to name a few. Morse is my favorite though.

1. Glorious - Tanya adds even more songs to her already lenghty career. From Throwing Muses to Breeder to Belly, she already had an impressive resume. Her solo career just furthered her place in musical history. These songs are meant to close a chapter in her life, while opening a new, exciting, and familiar one.

1. One of my favorite albums this decade - This album is incredible. I keep coming back to it and my affection for it continues to grow. Sóley haunts me. We Sink and Ask the Deep (her first full length albums) build up a dark mythos in another world. I find them to be excellent examples of the pure expression of a distressed mind. The piano instrumental album Kromantik is a further distillation of this earnest soul, but with no distractions of any kind. In Endless Summer, we get to see the culmination of all of that effort. She is exiting the valley of the shadow of death, but she isn’t alone. She is scarred but basically whole. I wonder where she ends up? I guess I’ll have to wait for the new album. It’s coming out soon. I can’t wait.

2. Beautiful - I had the pleasure of seeing Soley perform while in Iceland. From the first note, I fell in love with the songs. There's something about the songs that seem to connect to the Land of Fire and Ice, and almost transport me back to my time there. Both the gentle keyboards and hypnotic vocals are outstanding! Can't wait to hear additional songs as I explore more from the artist.

1. Fantastic Album - We heard Sam Kelly recently on YouTube from a recording of BGT and love his performances. After hearing that we wanted to hear more so we looked for more songs and found a great performance at a festival. We enjoyed it immensely. Everyone on stage was very talented and a pleasure to watch. They all love music and entertaining the crowds. I just want to know when Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys will be coming to America? Please come to America and play for us. Jim Harris

1. Incredible! - I had not heard of Ryan before, but you can be sure I won't miss his stuff in the future. I'm an old guy who grew up in the 's and I've known all the great folk, Americana, rock and many other genres. These songs hold up to the best I've ever heard. These are really melodic and some very catchy! I've just listened to "Promised Land" about times:)

1. Great album! - Clever lyrics and beautiful guitar riffs make this one a winner. From the catchy pop sound of the title track “It’s Happening Now” to the quieter, gorgeous lyrics of “Happiness,” to my personal favorite “We Got the Moon,” this is a stellar effort by a talented singer-songwriter.

Otra joya.
