1. Justifying kidnapping , Ukrainian children? Really? - In the March episode they were talking about Russia kidnapping Ukrainian children and forcibly assimilating them into Russia…
And after the journalist said that out of , children kidnapped, barely have been returned…
The host said (verbatim) “Stepping back here… these were children that for the most part, like Anya, were taken from group homes and orphanages, and placed in families in Russia. And yes they’re being fed this Russian propaganda about their own native born country and Russia, but it seems like—just to play devil’s advocate —they’re in potentially better and safer environments than they were before.” This is an absolutely vile take. NYTimes continues to suffer from “both sides-ism” but this is a new low, making excuses for Russia kidnapping children from their homes & playing right into the Russian propaganda narrative. Kidnappers & aggressors don’t need “devil’s advocates” and strategically targeting the most vulnerable children that have no advocates shouldn’t be praised or defended.

2. Use own voice- how to help in Ukraine? - I have been listening daily for about years now, it took time to get used to Michael’s unique diction. Now that Sabrina is hosting I’m noticing she has the same diction and I wish she would speak like herself. Please! Regarding reporting on the Ukraine please stop reporting the war like it is a sporting event. I want to know what is happening, but I don’t want to be a voyerist of someone else’s terror. How can others constructively help instead just peering into their terror?
2023-03-03
3. Why Russia is Taking Thousands of Ukrainian Children - It was repugnant to hear Sabrina Tavernisi ask a “devil’s advocate” question regarding Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia. What was the point of asking (paraphrase): well, they were taken but aren’t they in a better safer, places? Isn’t there a better way to get information? It was upsetting to even have that kind of question posed- their homes were bombed, they were kidnapped, they’re being exploited, they have no say in the matter and so much more. And I’m getting tired of The Daily interview format- the forced, contrived questions that set up the info or the feigned surprise of the interviewer when they hear something they obviously already know. The topics/info are often excellent but the format infantilizes the listener.

4. Losing Trust - I used to be a huge fan and relied on this podcast for relevant news, but I’m losing trust since I’ve been checking for episodes on the Ohio train derailment and don’t see anything. It’s really just disappointing, but I keep hoping it’s because there will be a big series about it…
2023-03-02
5. Bad Host - I’m not saying I could do better, but Michael Barbaro’s CONSTANT use of verbal fillers is absolutely annoying. I’d actually listen to this podcast everyday but I get so frustrated hearing “huh” “mmm” or “hmm” every other minute as his guest is speaking is so incredibly distasteful that I can only listen to one episode a week, at most. The content and the information is great otherwise.
2023-02-28
6. Please cut the terrible bkgrnd music - I was excited to see that Kevin Roose was on this week. But I started listening to one of the episodes, and the background music is getting so obnoxious and distracting that I just can’t listen anymore. Fortunately, Roose has his own podcast that does not include the maddening background sounds, so I could skip the daily and go on over to Hard Fork for Roose’s insightful commentary. I nearly stopped listening to The Daily because of the obnoxious cadence of the hosts’ speech. It’s as though. NYT teaches hosts. To only speak.
In sentences. Of two. Or three words. I found a solution to that with some ingenious audio trimming available in the PocketCasts app. But I have yet to find a way to cut out background music. Fingers crossed, though.

7. Good for catching up on current issues - This is good for catching up on current issues. Like the NYT, it can fall into both sidesism in coverage of political issues. My biggest criticism (which is why there are instead of stars) is the new NYT “news voice.” In addition to causing the readers to sound the same, there seems to be a purposeful adding of a “like” here or there, and a cadence that has a light upspeak and fry, presumably to be friendlier to a certain demographic.
2023-02-24
8. Ohio Train Derailment - I’ve been listening to The Daily religiously on my way to work for several years and have loved it because you talk about recent developments. I just got back from maternity leave and thought I would get caught up on recent events. I was looking forward to learning about the train derailment in Ohio and I am so disappointed that you haven’t covered it. Yet today’s episode is about the war in Ukraine again!!

1. short and simple intros to top news of the day - Perfect for my short commute to work! Listening daily keeps me informed, which is great because I don’t naturally interact with the news much otherwise. It’s fairly unbiased, entertaining, and brief. The hosts are direct but personable and the stories generally do reflect what seems to be top of mind in the American news cycle. If you want a deep dive into the grittier news stories of the world, this isn’t it. This podcast does what’s it’s meant to, which is provide some valuable context behind the biggest headlines of the day. Simple as that!
2023-03-02
2. Selective Journalist - NPR is not an “unbiased source” - It is important to note that NPR is not a completely unbiased source. As an American non-profit news organization, it has a tendency to align with the views of the American government. This bias can be seen in their coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, where they often present a slanted perspective. While NPR has been a source of information for domestic stories for years, it is important to understand that it reflects the views of the state department, much like other major media outlets such as CNN, FOX, and MSNBC. Unfortunately, NPR also has a history of presenting distorted versions of historical events, which is concerning given their reputation as a trusted source. Overall, NPR may be a decent source for domestic news, but for international stories, it is advisable to seek out a more impartial and balanced perspective from journalists in the aforementioned country or region of the world. This podcast specifically is like goons who got to work in the White House in their s so they think they know sum, they don’t, they’re reading off a paper just like every American news organization. You can find better podcast, promise.
2023-02-13
3. Saturday is unpleasant, rest of week great! - I hate leaving a fairly negative review for a show that I’ve listened to daily for years, but I can no longer listen to the Saturday version of the show. The voice of the female host is distracting and a bit grating. It truly takes away from the news being reported. I know one’s voice can’t change, but I do think a more pleasant voice should be a requirement for an audio only news source.
2023-02-13
4. Classified Document Story - I applaud you for actually covering the Biden document story. With that said, the coverage is obviously carrying the White House’s water. It is comical the people you bring on the discuss the topic. They act like people just leave classified documents laying around or co-mingle documents all the time. The regulations are very clear and to think, “oh this just happens”, as the ex-CIA person on today said, is laughable. Please try and be objective.
2023-01-19
5. A shadow and a shell - Somewhere along the way, NPR lost its way. I blame the producers and editors, mostly. But in some instances it’s just the depth and quality of reporting. For example the “science light” reporting of Rob Stein, or oversell shift to a “Today Show/Good Morning America” approach that simplifies and dumbs down reporting. Or a silly effort to seek a middle path concerned more about donations than representing a liberal perspective. Far far fewer “driveway moments” generally.
2023-01-18
6. please focus on things that actually matter - I love NPR, and I listen to Up First every day. However, I do notice a trend towards sometimes covering stories just because other journalist are covering their stories, and not because the stories are in and of themselves important. For example, the Biden document situation is not very important. It doesn’t affect my personal life at all. for me, it is the equivalent to petty political gossip. I wish that they would cover more things about climate change and economic inequality.
2023-01-16
7. Increasingly and Obviously Biased - This podcast has become increasingly and obviously left leaning and biased. Steve in particular consistently sounds bitter and sarcastic when it pertains to partisan matters. I have listened this is show daily for years now, but will no longer plan to do so. Update: Dwayne and Leyla are great. Really hope they continue to host this podcast.
2023-01-12
8. A day starts always with Up First - I can’t get my day started without my NPR Up First friends, from weekdays to Saturdays with Scott and Aysha. Love the balanced news coverage and that feeling of trustworthiness everyone conveys and how familiar you all are to me. The new addition to more in depth conversations on Sunday’s is the cherry on top. Todays show about Barbra Streisand ended with Rachel singing with Steve and it pulled at my heart strings. I feel deeply connected with these amazing journalists. Thank you for the outstanding job you all do.

1. Cannabis dangers episode. - Oh boy this is right up the Michael Knowles gossip ally. lol. I am a fan of the DW and Knowles but this anti cannabis rhetoric is over the top. I have consumed cannabis for many years straight and recently quit with no issues. I also have a pregnant wife of mos. Many people benefit from cannabis use over pharmaceutical drugs. Obviously kids should not consume it for recreational use. And alcohol is by far much much more dangerous to consume and get behind the wheel that’s undeniable. Same with pharmaceutical drugs being undeniably more dangerous.

2. Former NPR Up First Listener - Best daily news update. I used to listen to Up First on my drive to work but their obsession with Trump during his presidency clouded their news coverage. While coming from a conservative perspective Daily Wire delivers the daily news succinctly and with wide variety. / recommend
2023-02-19
3. Dennis Karpf - I never thought that Morning Wire would adopt the false narrative from the Left of “cycle or escalation of violence” in Israel rather than factually reporting on military strikes against Iran and its murderous proxies distinct from barbarous mass murder by Arabs of Israeli civilians at worship. The Left continues to distort moral reality even at Morning Wire.
2023-01-31
4. Memphis Tenn. - I once listen to a very smart black women, who at one point in her life was a leader for BLM in an Indiana chapter. She gave a very heartfelt analogy on the ongoing media dump of police brutality videos being the same as what happened during slavery. Where when slave owners when killling a slave would bring all the other slaves to watch… that is what our disgusting media does every time something like this happens it’s disgusting. We need to change the culture around what blacks tell their children around the police so That when confronted by police they don’t run or fight & police need better training.
2023-01-30
5. Censored by Big Tech Podcast - Daily wire shows are dependent on revenue from Google/YouTube, Facebook etc and you’ll hear plenty of native ads for Google embedded in their content. Don’t trust another Big Tech censorship platform like Daily Wire to bring honest reporting when they collude with Google’s censorship regime producing their content.
2023-01-26
6. I love the dialogue style presentation. - Oh I'm too stupid to have somebody just present me with all the news and facts. I need my news to come in kind of almost a mini drama, with a dialogue between actors. Of course this is all written up before hand so they know the questions and answers, but still they act like it's just two friends that bumped into each other talking about today's topics with a fun back-and-forth banter. That's why I love it.
2023-01-25
7. Great source of news - My whole household enjoys Morning Wire. The podcast gives the information you need in a non-biased, straight-forward way. It helps me understand what’s going on in the US and the world. A big shout out to guest Kenny who gives us the bottom line related to financial forecasts.
2023-01-24
8. Extremely biased - I was looking for a show to bring some balance to news reporting. This is definitely not it. I tried it for over a year and they fail to report on key details that give the full picture. And of course always when it makes conservatives look bad. Do better! You’re supposed to strive for journalistic integrity.

1. A few more per day, please - I’ve been listening for several years now. It’s how I start my day - a quick briefing of the day’s headlines. I admit I did not need to listen to each hour’s episode, but I would like to hear more than the two per day I seem to be getting now. Maybe four? Six?
Also, Jack Spear and Nora Rahm have wonderful voices. All of them do. All different, all pleasant. Don’t mind the negative nay sayers. Thank you!
2023-02-10
2. Good, but….. - I like this podcast and the nice minute summary of news, but why is there only one episode available at a time? I missed one day once and thought I’d have a few to listen to, but no. Please consider leaving up at least the previous day’s podcasts, they are taken down way too soon.
2023-01-26
3. Mostly horrible newsreaders and substandard reporting. Annoying ads. - Super-annoying, full of advertising and marketing. Some of the newsreaders can barely read and speak (Jack Spear, Nora Rahm) or have speech impediments. Awful. Furthermore, it comes with really annoying ads and promotions that are in your face ALL THE TIME! It’s not enough that they get massive support from hundreds of sources they have to annoy listeners with ads. My twitchy finger is hovering near the delete button :)
2022-12-29
4. Love that they only keep most current episode - I have tried following other news podcasts that release multiple episodes per day, but it just got so confusing when I’d miss a few of the episodes throughout the day. My podcast library was way to cluttered and I had tons of out of date episodes downloaded to my phone. NPR has a way better system.
2022-12-22
5. Not inclusive - Surprised how much NPR reports on wildfires in OR or CA but only a brief blip about those in poorer Hispanic states like New Mexico. A good lot of it it also non-news, like the fact that twitter added an edit button…that’s advertising. I find, though the tone is meant to present an air of inclusivity and civility, the reporting is meant to address the concerns of affluent whites. As a Hispanic listener, I feel we are especially excluded from NPR’s national narrative.
2022-09-12
6. years of record. - I have listened to NPR for years. I have watched PBS for more than that. I shudder to think where we might be without the perspectives brought to light through these channels. I will go to my grave knowing that I did not waste my time with public broadcasting. By the people, for the people.
2022-08-16
7. I’m appalled - The advertisement for NPR I just heard after the minute round-up makes me sick. It says “Are you obsessed with NPR? “ Do you want NPR to be you personality? or something to that effect. I don’t have the stomach to go back abd listen. What are you thinking! You are a NEWS organization I depend on to provide information, not identity. Are you playing the FOX game? Very disappointing.
2022-07-23
8. Great hourly update news! - The only change I might consider is some kind of a reminder letting me know I’ve missed a certain number of episodes. I can also imagine an alert heard only by me via bluetooth or the phone to let me know (chosen what, where and how many etc. all of the above chosen by me in “settings”). I’m not sure what algorithm this would require, or how difficult it may be to implement, but it would make staying up to date/hour even easier!
Thanks for your consideration, juli

1. Format suggestion - Really have been enjoying this and you other newer wsj podcasts. If I could make a suggestion, I would suggest that the guest welcoming be more like my fav podcast, WSJ Potomac Watch, which a few months ago ceased the causal platitudes exchanged with guests in favor of the host/leader acknowledging guest and their expertise in the discussion, but the e first time the guest speaks is with meaningful commentary. Bottom line the banter with phrases like “thanks for having me” comes off with a tone that sounds a little fake. Thank you!
2023-02-16
2. Recent editing issues - slowed speech - Recently the editing has become nearly unlistenable - the recordings of the reporters are slowed down to such an uncomfortable speed that it is difficult to focus on content. Same is true for tech news briefing. If something has changed about editorial methods or staff, might be time for a rethink.
2023-02-14
3. Attempt at Race Driven Pandering - // - Why does it matter what color the Super Bowl quarterbacks are? How about this? Two amazing quarterbacks will be featured in this year’s Super Bowl. Your Friday, February , pm edition made it a point to say it’s two black guys. Nobody cares. All the fans care about is their teams and seeing a great Super Bowl. I’ll even take a leap and say, I bet people will realize what color the quarterbacks are when they watch the game. Nuts, I know. I’ll also take a leap and say, I bet their hard work, talent, and perseverance was what got them to the top of NFL football and skin color had zero to do with it.
2023-02-12
4. Anonymous - Absolutely ridiculous how you’ll mention Israelis killing Palestinians when it is all in defense and retaliation of the terrorist attacks. So convenient how you ignore the Palestinian attacks on Jewish families in a synagogue this past weekend killing women and children. Not to mention the parades they had after to celebrate the terrorist attacks. Nothing short of anti semitism to spread this narrative. You’re no better than the New York Times.
2023-01-30
5. Almost perfect - I would give this podcast a because it brings good updated content in a concise informative manner. It’s clear the speakers prepare for each show. One small technical issue: I can’t hear you-I use a microphone and it doesn’t improve much. I don’t have this trouble with other WSJ podcasts, so I’m not sure why this one is so difficult to hear.
2022-12-30
6. Long Time Listener - Excellent show. I’ve been listening since it was created by Anthony Galloway and his team back then. Excellent writers but some of the speakers are not great - especially that Peter G. guy. His voice and attitude is subpar at best. There’s gotta be another producer with a better voice.
2022-12-07
7. Mixed bag - In a hyper- partisan world, the WSJ presents about as neutral a presentation of the news as you can find. There’s appropriate depth to the reporting and the length of the podcast is economical. That’s all good. The AM edition seems to have a revolving door of hosts. I’m sure Luke Vargas is a good guy, but there’s too much happy talk between him and the contributors. Luke: “Hey Maggie, thanks for being on the program.” Maggie: “Thanks for having me. How are you?“ Luke: “I’m terrific, thanks.” “Let’s meet for drinks.” Just kidding about the last one, but you get the point. This is supposed to be a news program. If I want to banter about the news, I’ll talk to my friends. For the PM edition, AMF does a very good job reading the news, engaging the reporters and keeping the program moving along. Give her a raise! Sometimes the feature stories drone on, either because of the canned interview format or the reporter is trying to sound too conversational. It’s too bad, because the stories can be interesting and timely. And you can do away with the last segment. - it mostly just fluff. Does the WSJ instruct their reporters to start their sentences with “well”, “yea”, “so”? Maybe the WSJ wants this podcast to be less about news reporting and more about news chit chat. If that’s the case, it’s working, particularly in the AM edition.
2022-10-28
8. Overall balance but needs improvement - The / PM edition story by Daniella Cheslow may as well have been a paid advertisement for the Democratic Party. I listen to this podcast daily and enjoy this podcast due to the general balance and non-partisan nature of your coverage. “News stories” like this one though will turn off listeners looking for non-partisan, intelligent coverage. Summary of Story - - look how great the diverse food scene is in this town due to immigrants. - The Republican candidate is telling lies about how bad immigrants are in order to rile up his racist base. - cite two sources to confirm that the Republican candidate is wrong. - queue Democratic candidate’s sound bite saying how wrong and racist the Republican candidate is. - state that the Republican’s messaging is really resonating with some voters (implying that if a listener agrees with republicans on immigration, they must too be a racist.) - end by saying how close and important this election is. WSJ - as a genuinely good news outlet, do better. This is pathetic. What if you maybe brought in statistics about how many undocumented immigrants entered the US, the number of immigrant deaths this year, or the effects on community services that immigrants are having? Maybe if you provide a little context on the issue, this could provide some balance to the story? Maybe if you actually cover with some perspective and nuance, you can represent Republicans as more than misinformed racists.

Comments
1. Good but not Great - It’s my personal opinion that the Journal focuses more on sensational stories then telling the full story. I also find that the Journal doesn’t provide an overview of views regarding the topic they they’re covering. If you’re looking to listen to something interesting, this is a good podcast but if you’re looking for a well rounded perspective on an issue/topic, this may not be the podcast for you. Typically the podcast is more surface oriented and has less depth of coverage.
2023-02-10
2. Just off - It could really be good, but I feel like it’s not rigorous enough. The WSJ colleagues they bring on invariably sound so under-researched. The episodes also often feel superficial or unresolved. Go deeper / ask better questions in the short time you have or be less wedded to every episode being bitesize. (And Ryan’s faux Barbaro delivery is so gratingly earnest and stilted, I wish he’d loosen up juuust a bit.)
2023-01-28
3. A one- sided podcast - This is a left leaning podcast, and that is very disappointing. it is not disappointing that it is left leaning, but that it portrays itself as straight journalism and not opinion-based. There are always many facets to a story, but when facets
that the commentator does not agree with are brushed over, sanitized, vilified or completely ignored, that is a problem.
2023-01-23
4. Biased against businesses - I started listening to this is to get unbiased reporting on key trends in business. I don’t mind if someone is editorializing to either polar extreme when that’s what they purportedly offer and live it accordingly. This podcast sells itself as a business trends podcast but clearly has an agenda. Once again, I don’t mind learning more about either poles perspectives. This one isn’t living what it’s marketing though. Not why I historically went to the WSJ for info.
2023-01-14
5. The Journal is like an audio version of WSJ mobile push notifications - Reporting is extremely shallow and will not provide new insights or understanding into any given issue beyond what you can already read in the headlines. Please get some hosts who are actually capable of asking meaningful questions like Michael Barbaro, Ezra Klein, or Terry Gross. More importantly, please interview experts who actually understand the subject at hand instead of just interviewing your fellow WSJ journalists who only have a surface-level understanding of the topic.
2023-01-07
6. Drugs or the War on Drugs? - Interesting perspective that you did not even tap your finger to push back on. Attorney Entrepreneur said that the War on Drugs had devastated black and brown communities. Seems to me it was the drugs that devastated those communities and not the war on drugs. I suppose by the same thinking, it’s not Fentanyl but the War on Fentanyl that has killed so many white people, or maybe the Fentanyl kills white people but the War on Fentanyl harms black and brown. Not sure how red and yellow are impacted, but I do know it ain’t easy being green.
2022-12-31
7. Fire Kate Linebaugh immediately - This should be an excellent podcast but it is not for one reason: Kate Linebaugh. Her interview with Anthony Fauci is the worst example of “journalism” ever and it is hard to believe that she was not fired for this journalistic malpractice. Everyone can have a bad day, but this is far, far worse. Anyone with a podcast like this should be “sentenced” to listen to hundreds of hours of the BBC’s HARD TALK, while Kate Linebaugh’s disgraceful podcast with Fauci should be called “Puff Piece” or “Provide a Platform Without Challenge to a Pathological Liar.” Kate was unprepared, uninformed, and unwilling to challenge Fauci on virtually any serious point. Do other listeners feel the same? The WSJ should have standards and accountability. To meet the standards and hold people accountable, Kate Linebaugh should be fired immediately. Have you no shame, Kate Linebaugh, for such a pathetic disservice to your listeners?
2022-12-29
8. Cannabis story caution - Regarding “Highs and lows of diversity in cannabis” story, you might want to mention that while cannabis is big business, children who consume cannabis have xs higher risk of activating genes for schizophrenia than non-pt smoking children.
When you talk about the cannabis business, you risk glorifying and normalizing a dangerous substance that regularly ruins people’s lives…
There is a story there if you want to tell it. Ask any medical or psychiatric provider in any state where is has been legalized and you will hear the devastation. Let’s not normalize pot as if it is just another benign commodity on the market. It is a serious psychoactive substance now available in doses never before seen on planet Earth—doses young brains cannot safely tolerate— thanks to the greedy cannabis industry. Beware.

1. Favorite current events podcast - This is my favorite podcast to get up to speed on things I may not have learned about otherwise. Only thing I’d like to see is a contact option for suggestion. I’m DYING to hear an episode about Ozempic and how people are using it for weight loss instead of it’s intended purpose
2023-03-01
2. Holding it down for the once-glorious Vox podcast empire - A short, ish minutes length explainer of one news story a day. Great commentary and reporting from the hosts, interview subjects, and Vox writers make it essential listening. Other Vox podcasts have come and gone but this one maintains its high quality.
2023-02-13
3. Should be better, still pretty good - Perfect example is the piece on Peru…it started off good but the story doesn’t go anywhere except to explain how the country is clearly not a democracy in anything but name. Then it explains what a mess South American governments are in general. But it skims over the important parts and goes into depth on basic elements. Also a Brit is reporting—and in the end it’s wanting. The story on restaurants was similar in “could have been much better.” The topics are interesting and there are glimpses of great. Maybe they fired—or lost—the people who used to make this a five-star listening experience.
2023-01-28
4. Awesome podcast - To the people hating - maybe you should consider that everything you think is “bias” is actually the truth. I think they do a great job of covering all the bases in their reporting. Would love to see an ep. on the concept of degrowth soon, especially with all the recession fears and climate change looming all around us. Another system is possible
2023-01-19
5. Classified Documents - Biased. A complete downplay of Biden’s documents in several different locations chalking it up to “an oversight” but the previous administration was criminal. They left out a KEY piece of the law. A president can declassify documents while a vice president cannot. It sounds like a law has been broken but it’s ok if it’s an oversight. Unfollow.
2023-01-15
6. Unsubscribing - Ok content but minor things make me have to stop. The annoying music that sounds like a jack in the box toy playing during a serious topic discussion is incredibly annoying. Pronouncing the T in often. Other weird pronunciations and fake chipper voices. Too bad because for the most part it is good.
2023-01-14
7. Great content, but bad music - I really like this podcast, but they play really annoying music in certain segments. If they would just stick to the typical background music for segues, that would be great. Instead they try to find pop music that coincides with the story at hand and it’s super obnoxious. Content is stellar otherwise.
2023-01-05
8. Not accurate - Total bias not well informed of reality. You forgot to mention that in Lula’s case to winning the election on Brazil, this man has been prosecuted and found guilty times for one of the biggest corruption scheme in South America involving even narco traffickers. He is not even sworn, at the moment I write this, and he is already coordinating the closing of thousands of social media accounts, civilians and public figures, that are protesting against his dictatorship. This dictator, who hangs with Maduro on his spare time, is stealing Brazil of its own desire to be free and part of a more civilized society. brazilwasstolen

1. February - No excuse, for Russia closing access roads to aid and aid workers into the rebel held Syria area. No excuse, for the Syrian government looting and stealing aid monies. No excuse, for humanitarian aid, to come obliviously too late from the Saudi’s and Qatar to save lives. No monies, of course, from Russia.

2. one side point of view - listen to one episode, electoral college - the only discussed one side which is obviously the side that their listeners approve of. What about a deeper look to why it is the way it is? Yes you want majority rule, but we have a republic form govt for reasons. A good podcast would explore both side. Disappointed.

3. Monica Gandhi?? - Really disappointed and saddened at todays episode on COVID. To give Monica Gandhi even second of air time, touting her as an “infectious disease expert,” is laughable. She has persistently downplayed COVID and has been wrong every single phase of this pandemic (claiming India had herd immunity prior to deadly COVID wave; giving SEVEN reasons why we don’t need boosters BEFORE delta wave in US; labeling Delta variant as “reassuring;” stating the pandemic will essentially be over by Sep/Oct ; falsely stating omicron variant won’t swamp hospitals in vaccinated areas; and on and on…). Where did the quality of reporting/fact checking at NPR go? I don’t need a cheerleader when it comes to COVID, I appreciate sound evidence-based, objective, sound reporting.

4. Police should support gun control - If police are so afraid of being outgunned, then they should support gun control. This episode made me so angry. We support bad police behavior. If armed officers are afraid to confront one gunman, so much so that they allow children to be murdered, that is a problem. If armed officers are afraid of one “armed” black man they murder him, that is a problem. Police need to quit viewing themselves as heroes and reconsider their place in society and how they can use their voice to protect the public in changing the laws they are sworn to uphold.

5. Please tell the whole story. - Why are you focusing on one person who is in jail for breaking the law when we have other Americans who have not. There are two other Americans, and there is hardly a word. Is it because they are not in the entertainment side of life. So, we are willing to put an entertainer over a business man. Even if he was a Spy, who was he working for? The US? Also, the coverage on the Supreme Court. I disagree with some of the decisions made. I had the same feeling when it was more liberal. Or in your terms, less conservative. ( liberal and conservative and that would be less conservative). The court has a different view
Of the constitution then other people. They say if it’s not there, they it’s not constitutional. I understand that. That means laws need to be change to get something different. That’s it. Let’s move forward and focus on why the Dems can not get anything pass when they hold all three.

6. Vapid values reviewed - Five stars for the fools who think the pandemic ended a year ago back when they thought it wasn’t even real. In fact ten stars on a five star scale of outworldly fertile self-deception skills. I want a comedy show with this crap but Tucker Carlson is just mentally ill and not at all funny. Thank you for fighting domestic russian stooges with real data instead of the vapors they use.
2022-05-01
7. Texas Abortion Episode - Wow, this wasn’t biased at all… Define irony…. When you run an episode talking about how there is still access to an abortion (granted more difficult) but highlighting the difficulty of getting an abortion COULD get someone killed while an abortion IS the killing of a human being scientifically… Believe in science, not just when it’s convenient or fits your world view. You can make moral arguments for the mother vs infant in specific situations, but you chose not to instead portraying pro life advocates as heartless and morally inferior. This was garbage reporting.
2022-03-03
8. Experts call the pandemic a collective trauma… - Why is thinking of the world an unsafe place considered a disorder? The world is NOT a safe place! Every horror you can imagine is happening to someone right now. We all get hurt. We ALL die! Life is the leading cause of death. Seeing the world as unsafe is simply realistic.

1. Perfect for Moderate Liberals Looking for Honesty from the Other Side - If you’re a moderate liberal looking for honest points of view from the right, these guys provide that. A&G have opened mind significantly since I started listening in the late s. I can now honestly say I’m equally annoyed with Trump Republicans and progressive liberals and will gladly take my place slightly left of center. Thanks for the years of laughter. S// Liberal in Montana.

2. They Make Me Laugh! - I really enjoy Armstrong and Getty. After Rush passed away they became the main talk show I listened to. I get the news from a conservative point of view that I respect but in addition they really tickle my funny bone! Like sometimes it takes a while to stop laughing or wipe the silly smile off my face. The transition music is great for keeping me going on my walks. Thanks you guys! Keep up the great work!

3. Insightful, sensible, entertaining, news/info - Armstrong & Getty offer an excellent perspective from a broad spectrum of sources from real news sources, along with their own take and insights which I find brilliant and sensible. They also offer interject lighthearted and funny stories. I can take in best and most relevant info from CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, MSNBC, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, New York Post, Washington Times, NPR, best seller books, all while driving, walking, bike riding, or even working around the house.
2022-04-14
4. Fair and balanced conservative radio - I enjoy listening to Joe and Jack because they are not the annoying stereotype that a lot of conservative media is right now. I appreciate that they have genuine opinions that are thoughtful even though I disagree with them sometimes. For people complaining that there are commercials…really!? It’s a podcast just skip ahead if you don’t want to hear them. I’m all for these guys getting some revenue from the podcast.

5. Jack has no idea what he’s talking about. - Have listened to you for years. Each day you’re worse. Today you flubbed on multiple fronts—again: . Canadians hate the mandates. . The “conservative” thinkers that Jack always refers to are bitter never trumpers who have no clue what’s happening in the country. The dispatch is a bunch of has-been bitter NeoCons who’ve sold their souls to CNN and MSNBC. I understand getting information from multiple sources but this is ridiculous. You are abandoning your listeners. And I just listened for the very last time.

6. You bring Joy my Soul - Discovered this show after moving to San Diego years ago. Have listened on and off (mostly on) ever since. I used to be pretty diligent about getting all hours in but life just hasn’t allowed that lately. But some of my most cherished moments of hysterical laughing in my life are from listening to this show. The authenticity that pours from Jack and Joe make it that much sweeter. This is truly the only sane way for me to keep up with news and politics. Thank you guys for being there for your audience for so long and so consistently. A friendship like yours is rare. Thank you for sharing it with us. Your families, your hearts, your pains, your victories. It will be a truly sad and depressing day/week/month when you retire. I pray you keep up your stamina for as long as possible. The world needs this kind of podcast. On a side note, I’m praying for your health and protection of you and your families, and that you both feel the love of Jesus, even through unspeakable tragedy directly or indirectly caused from the humans in your life, and that you get to know Him and trust in Him before you leave this world. I really want to meet you guys in heaven someday. He is the way the truth and the life. He loves you both so so much!! And don’t forget…if there’s a hole in the ground where a tree once was……….SOMEbody’s makin’ money. ;) Love you guys.

7. Don’t miss these - smart & informative - News & culture with a witty, funny & at times insightful chaser. You’ve got to listen to a few episodes to “get” them. They’re bright, good communicators and, sometimes laugh out loud funny. Very high quality guests also. An easy way to stay surprisingly informed.
2021-11-06
8. A&G - I have been a dedicated listener for over twenty years. They used to be on TV and considering the format and faces made for radio, they were great. Since the advent of podcasts I have listened days a week hours a day. Always on in the car, walking the dog, on the treadmill, etc. Best source of conservative leaning news out there. Especially with their uniqueness of delivery and varied content. Will continue to listen as long as they continue to broadcast.

1. More than just the top headlines - I listen to three other daily news podcasts that often cover the same top stories of the day. I appreciate how Apple News Today not only covers the biggest, most important headlines of the day, but also highlights interesting pieces of journalism that are not usually the forefront of news podcasts. I also appreciate how Shumita Basu speaks with the authors of the pieces and adds in their anecdotal input. The show is very well done

Teehee, - you bet;) PrayersForUkraine and May God be merciful to the power hungry. KlingOnBastads Amen…. 3. Inaccurate…sadly, I’m a fan - I had heard many inaccuracies here and there, but I just listened to the most recent Gun Law episode where my state of Arizona was listed as no required background checks. It was wrong by omission of details. This is just not true and a quick google search would clear that up. Please fact check your stories and I will rate higher. Keep up the mostly good work.

4. I listen everyday, it’s a quick summary of news, but: - correction // episode- the Astros did not “beat” the Dodgers in World Series, the Astros cheated and their actions have been recognized by the league. Cheaters shouldn’t be considered winners. posted years ago: Everytime they mention the Kardashians or celebrity break ups they loose a star. I want news not gossip!
2022-10-07
5. Nice way to start the day! - This podcast is a nice way to get up to speed at the start of the day. I’d like it a bit more longer and in depth, evolving it from a teaser to get you to read the articles referenced, to more it’s own stand alone thing (perhaps an idea for a third podcast?). That said, it does what it’s designed to do really well. Getting you up to speed and if you listen to it in the News app, it’ll nowadays play the voice recording of the highlighted news item automatically. Additionally they’ve also started producing the “conversation” podcast, which is a podcast with interviews, going more in depth on a specific topic. It is sad that so many reviewers seem to have developed a brain rot due to exposure to biased “news” like Fox News, that they can’t help themselves but fail to recognize proper no-nonsense factual reporting of the current day atrocities in this country. If you can appreciate getting an appetizer of the day to day headlines then this is the perfect podcast for you. If however you’d rather be told how you’re the victim of everything that happens and want to be coddled at the first thought of systemic issues and how you gasp might be a part of it, then it’s best to stay clear and listen to uncle Carlson instead.

6. I’m not normally a fan of podcasts - But I am a fan of Apple News Today! I listen to it almost every morning with my coffee. My only complaint is that it feels a little lonely now that Duarte Geraldino is no longer on the show. I hope Apple adds a second host again since having two felt a little more like I listening to my friends catching me up on the days news.
2022-08-12
7. Apple Propaganda Today! - This Podcast is clearly a left leaning, political trash dumpster fire. Their views could even be considered racist! Please stay away from the propaganda machine of Apple News! In multiple episodes, they claim the greatest danger is “white conservatives”, that’s racist!
2022-08-05
8. My first podcast for my morning commute - This is my daily opener, great way to start the day with a simple and plain review of the daily news. The details are left to the writers of the articles mentioned, while this show presents the highlights with links provided in the show notes. Shumita has a great podcast voice and I wish the team luck in finding a comparable successor to Duarte.
The only bias in this podcast is to the facts. If you can see bias in this reporting of headlines, it might be time to turn the mirror on yourself.

1. Could be better, like it once was. - The show does it’s job, presenting a short news summary in a format not burdened with appearing non-biased in comparison with right-wing propaganda masquerading as news. That means the facts presented are mostly reliable, but not all of the facts are presented, especially those damning to Democrats left of Sen. Joe Manchin. The delivery has suffered lately though; the collection of part-time hosts have neither the charm nor the comedic delivery of Gideon Resnik or Akilah Hughes, who made this show an audio-only near peer to popular late night news satire shows. Tre’vell is a cringe stereotype of a trans person who disservices their community by reinforcing its perceived over-representation and cliche attitude. They consistently offering nothing but the same stale “sassy” improvised takes, calling attention to themself and gender issues at the expense of sounding informed, intelligent, and witty when delivering on news topics which don’t concern the persecution of LGBT people. Still, to this team’s credit, they have taken a political stance left of their company owners, the headliners of Pod Save America, on labor issues. There’s usually an update every week on which unions are preparing to organize and agitate, while PSA hosts still spew cringe over their daily Starbucks habit, utterly deaf to the efforts of the unions. The owners also largely took the Biden administration’s message and tone in the railroad workers’ strike intervention, lending to suspicions of the kind of journalistic malpractice for which they excoriate others, while the team at WAD repeatedly drew attention to the fact that no media outlet put any pressure on the railroad’s ownership.

2. Re: // Mental Health in Schools - I work as a School Counselor with elementary students. Our school works to promote the discussion and care around mental health, and it is also a priority in our district. Some districts and schools are definitely to blame when it comes to a lack of mental health support for students; however, we need to look to the need for mental health professionals in schools and how we get them there. Paying Counselors, Social Workers, and Psychologists a competitive wage and requiring at least one of each of these jobs in every school is imperative. Thank you for talking about this today, WAD!

3. The Best Daily News - Iwho can argue with a laugh AND being informed?! I listen daily while driving to work or school. I love the new format where the pairs of hosts trade off. I love all the witty personalities and charming banter. I’m glad you all switch days and are getting relief in these trying times. Ive been a listener since pre-Ponderosa; I hope Gideon and Akilah are well! Keep Up The Good Work! PS- I feel like this show prepares me for the questions on NPR’s “wait wait… don’t tell me” - maybe I should call in?!
2023-02-10
4. Great Show! - Love the format, love the team, love the news! Enough about Beyoncé already! It feels like I’m listening to a podcast from a local junior high school when y’all go on long rants about your favorite singers. It’s great to get some personal info about you but enough about pop stars, please.
2023-02-07
5. Descendants - Thank you from the bottom of my heart for today’s interview with two strong and gracious survivors. I will be watching the documentary today. I have studied my ancestors for years. The good, the bad and the ugly. I feel a connection in my gut especially to the strong women who kept stories alive.
2023-02-03
6. One Request… - …I love WAD. I’ve been a longtime listener, and the overall content is great. That said, as the hosts continue to turn over, can I just ask for the [I’m assuming] youthful messaging to not overshadow the quality of the content? Both “I love that for him/her” and “vibe” need to be retired.
2023-01-17
7. Poor comparisons, Squeaky voices - I could handle the untrained voices (it’s not difficult to learn to modulate tone. try youtube vids)if they were naturally funny, but it’s forced and meh at best. Kinda boring. Then, they use Trump slogans as if Biden was the author. False comparisons. Read about logical fallacies for minutes. PSA is my favorite everrrr but this Crooked Media show needs a good female producer who makes the hosts better.
2023-01-12
8. I left because you endorsed natural gas stoves - The natural gas stove section was tone def. You do not understand the harms that exist in peoples homes. You clearly do not understand the impacts our buildings and appliances impact climate, our health, and economic well being. Do more work before you talk about this subject.

1. My favorite way to start the day! - Seriously love listening to this in the morning as I’m getting ready for work or driving to work. I started at the end of the year last year and have continued it every day since then. I feel so informed and have literally found myself saying “I heard something about that in my morning news podcast” on several occasions. I have told so many people to listen to this it’s not even funny!
2023-03-01
2. Ozempic - I love your podcast! The people that are taking ozempic for weight loss are taking away from people like my husband who need it for his diabetes. He does not have the option to use any other drug and we have been struggling to get it since summer . I have spend so many days in frustrated tears trying to get even / his dose. There have been so many weeks he has gone without it with his sugars skyrocketing to dangerous levels. Thank you for covering this important topic.
2023-02-23
3. News should be timely; This is Not!! - I’m leaving this review on February , the morning following the Michigan State University shootings that started at : pm EST February . This horrific event was not mentioned on the February podcast and there has not been a follow-up podcast. News should be timely and important. How can you ignore such a horrific event! Very disappointing. You’re going to have to work harder!

4. The Best Way to Start Your Day! - Smart, informative, witty and impartial Start Here is a podcast that checks all the boxes for listeners. It is the first thing i put on in the morning and my life is better for it. I always feel informed of current events and ready to face the day. I cannot recommend it highly enough, word.

5. Tyre Nelson / Scorpion Group - I appreciate your show & hearing both sides without taking sides, but this case is beyond anyone’s ability to be neutral. I am sick of seeing this images!!! Do we have to take guns away from the police?!?! I also do NOT care if these police gangs are affective if they can’t tell or care about the difference between the good guys and the bad and arrest everyone, and then beat them until they die!! Why do these people think they are judge and jury when they have a phone call, routed through an operator to tell them there is or was a crime? Why are they arresting someone in a traffic stop? They have no legal right. These people are affective???? They are gangsters!!! Hitler’s “brown shirts” were affective in keeping crime down. But they were committing crimes, that led to crimes against humanity ending in the death of M people. We cannot allow this for one minute, anywhere, no matter how “affective” they are!!! This has to stop!! What is wrong with us as a society?!!
2023-01-30
6. Please fix mistakes - While I enjoy the podcast, I cringe at Brad’s grammar. An example aired is “Me and my little sister look absolutely mortified.” All those who were taught grammar hear is “Me look look absolutely mortified.” (Well, me too). Would love an episode about the dumbing down of today’s grammar.
2023-01-27
7. News from a privilege view - I like the format and a lot of what you cover but clearly this is news for “rich people”
I’ve heard it in a few different ways but then the coverage of the recession and how it’s seemingly only hitting tech companies?? Clearly shows you don’t know what the middle/lower class are going through right now.
2023-01-19
8. Biased reporting again - I tried giving the show a chance for the last three weeks, but you lost me when you started making excuses for Bidens top-secret documents while applauding President Trump being rated Biden was VP over six years ago. No one ever raided his home or offices. Trump is out of office less than a year if you don’t see the double standard and report on that then you are part of the problem and hypocrites

1. Zero journalistic courage - I loved this show early when Martin hosted and was somewhat critical. I’m so tired of them trying to present two sides as equally credible. Like “dominion alleges this and Fox News alleges this” like they stormed the capital because of fox, at what point is wash post going to take even the slightest stance on anything? This isn’t journalism it’s a billionaires news network now and this whole two sides are equally credible garbage is exhausting These reporters have no courage to speak out.
2023-02-28
2. Love the variety of stories!! - As a fellow journalist (unpaid freelance) I really enjoy hearing about these stories without all the “OMG we’re doomed!!” We get from the cable news machine. Just reporters talking about what they’ve seen and giving both sides a chance to be heard, whether they agree or not.
2023-02-19
3. The - Okay. Post “The ” is irritating me. I didn’t sign up for that podcast. I hate the long introduction to what it’s about and the. The music in between each number and even calling out the number is childish. So, The Post gets one star because they make me listen to a podcast I didn’t subscribe to.
2022-12-30
4. The from Jeff Pierre is Horrid and puts me into a Funk - This is my first podcast review. I used to love to listen to this podcast, but the by Jeff Pierre literally puts me in a depressive state. His monotone and delivery is awful. I listen to news podcasts in the early AM on the way to the gym. This is suppose to be a happy and productive time, not something that makes want to die because his tone puts me in a state to lose all hope for life. I will never listen to The by Pierre again.
2022-12-30
5. Martine Powers - I’m a long-time Washington Post subscriber and a regular listener to this podcast. I like the stories and the interviews, but I have a beef with Martine Powers. I assume she is intelligent, but she has a tendency to “play dumb” with many of her interview questions, presumably in an attempt to make her seem uninformed. Why? Is it an effort to make her seem like she is asking questions that might be on the mind of a dimwitted listener? If so, it isn’t working, and the act makes her come off sounding dumb. As a listener, I find this insulting. I’d rather she play it straight and show herself as intelligent and confident and informed. If I’m wrong and she is indeed the nitwit she sometimes appears to be, then I’d rather hear someone smarter as the host.
2022-12-24
6. Vital reporting - This podcast is a must-listen five times a week. It goes behind the headlines and digs deep into the a different story each day. Today’s episode, “What It’s Like to Survive a School Shooting,” gives a perspective that isn’t often shared — that of a survivor of the Uvalde mass shooting who endured the hour-plus horror and listed to of her classmates — including her best friend — die. This -year-old girl speaks in her own words, and her mother and the reporter, who spent months with her and her family tell this difficult but essential story. I highly recommend Post Reports. You never know what you’re going to get, but know that it’s something you really should know and that just might even give you a new perspective.
2022-12-09
7. Stunned! - I listened to the episode out of concern for my young daughter’s use of her phone… I walked away with a new way to look at my ADHD issues through the lens of stochastic resonance, a concept I had once studied in a past life - stochastic resonance! Wow, just wow, thanks for the surprising new perspective across all topics.
2022-11-23
8. Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies! - Not surprisingly this leftist podcast twists the truth just enough to push their own agenda. What I couldn’t believe is how they took an interview, cut down the audio, and told the listeners they said something different then what was actually said. Misinformation much?

1. Top go-to podcasts on my long, long list - The Intelligence is my favorite, but all shows I’ve heard are excellent!! Smart, fun, surprising and one of the best podcasts on my list. A top “go to” I look forward to hearing every day. You don’t need to be interested in business to enjoy this well produced and thoughtful investment in your time. Top-notch reporting, straightforward and mostly down the middle/balanced. Except that it will approach most of its journalism with a finance bent. This often keeps it honest, maybe more conservative (from investment POV), but also throws in fascinating stories drowned out in other outlets.
2023-01-18
2. Capitalism’s Favorite Dinner Guest - The Economist is very devoted to the maintenance of the status quo. So that’s what you will find intheir news. Understandably so, they are mostly very smart and very small nerds. I can commiserate with the dread of being a little guy facing the dawn of anarchy and authoritarianism around the globe. If you ask me though, they chose the wrong side of history when they hired their %er bodyguards. If you you are NOT in the mood to hear what the “nice guys” in the fossil fuel industry are saying when they aren’t in fear of ridicule- listen to Sawbones. It’s just as informative and kinda funny too!!
2022-12-13
3. No to Fasman & Suich Bass on the Intelligence - ) Please move Fasman back to Checks & Balances, back to his old role now occupied by Idris C. Fasman is a better expert on C&B than a host — and more knowledgeable about US history & politics than Idris. Or just let us hear fr Charlotte. ) Everytime wealthy CA hater Suich Bass writes or speaks, I want to cancel my subscription. Even on the rare occurrences where she reports mostly on facts, her framing is so prejudiced and right wing, she qualifies for the Roberts court. Why isn’t your US coverage as smart & nuanced as say your China team, your Babbage team, etc? Do better.
2022-12-13
4. Lazy Journalism - . All political coverage starts with unvarnished Republican talking points
. The nonstop breathless coverage of Trump, and how any story they will stick an idiotic Trump quote (aren’t they all) and call it a day
. Recently they released a special Saturday election episode that was just a bunch of old stories from the previous months mashed together. They didn’t even bother updating them, but presented it as new coverage. Half the stories weren’t even relevant anymore.
. The awful cookie cutter obituaries where they tell you about someone no one has heard of has died, then try to convince how important and significant they were, then drone inconsequential facts like where they were born, sibling, early education, etc. At least once a week with this nonsense
. Lastly, this podcast is one of those podcasts that is just an ad network, with some pesky news thrown in. If they could find a way to just run ads, they be on it. Their latest ad-fest fiasco: ads within ads that sound like they’ve been recorded on someone’s phone while sitting on the john. Why they think it’s ok to assault us with this, I don’t know. I had previously deleted this podcast, but decided to try it again to see if it’s improved, but it has just gotten worse. Sad to see the demise of a once great podcast
2022-11-05
5. “The Prince” is an outstanding podcast - Fantastic journalism- insightful, informative and entirely absorbing. I loved every minute and have significantly improved my understanding of the CCP and modern day China. Thank you for your meticulous research and painting this broad canvas around President Xi.
2022-10-16
6. Terribly Biased - I just started the episode on the Armenia/Azerbaijan class and WOW I have never heard a more biased intro. Heavily favoring Azerbaijan and Turkey. Trying to pull on the heartstrings for a country that is causing the conflict. AND having a Turkish correspondent comment to open???? THIS is what’s wrong. Our small, and historical country has little chance against media like this. Just terrible. Do your real research.
2022-09-23
7. Leave Jason Palmer as solo host please - I truly enjoy The Intelligence podcast. It’s a wonderful deep dive into the day’s news stories with some delightful quirk thrown in for good measure. But, for the love of all things, stop having this new dual host nonsense. Jason Palmer’s voice is like a wonderful, cozy blanket and I don’t want anyone else hosting the podcast unless he is on vacation. Let John F. stay on his own podcast. The guest hosts of the past have been delightful. Please no more John.

8. Unfortunate - Unfortunately, the latest coverage has been one sided, not as balanced and objective as I used to see from the Economist in the past. I found myself frequently wondering whether I was listening to the York Times opinion page, rather than the Economist. I hope that you go back balanced analysis, presenting both sides of each argument, and trust the listeners to make up their minds.

1. Fun and Straight - I can’t remember how long I’ve been listening to these guys but I find them terribly relatable and enjoyable. I think we may have even graduated high school the same year? (Would we have hung out!?) Anyway, they’re smart and funny and humble and I really enjoy the information they bring each day. I think it’s generally a-political and I appreciate that. They also seem to be inclusive but nothing heavy handed. A tip to listeners, .x speed is a better experience. I don’t know why, it just is. The only negative thing I have to say is that unfortunately neither of them are gay.

2. Been listening for a while - Fine for a quick wrap up show and look up things to read later. Has gone slightly down in quality since they rebranded. They added their own personal commentary at the end which is supposed to be funny. If you forget to skip through the last two minutes makes you want to rip your ears out as it takes you back to a frat house in .

3. Finally whipping up a review - Long time listener, first time reviewer! I’ve listened to the pod since . My pre-pandemic commute consisted of a minute walk to the offices in downtown Seattle. I’d arrive having just finished the day’s episode, feeling energized and informed about that day’s business news. “Digestible” was the perfect word to describe the three stories and incredible Jack and Nick banter. Since then, I’ve shifted to remote working, but still take minutes while eating lunch to crush today’s three stories. I’ve gotten friends hooked on the pod as well - a common question these days is “did you listen to TBOY today?” My fiancé and I even traded birthday shoutouts on the pod last year. You guys have become a part of my daily routine no matter what I’m doing, and I wanted to say thank you!

4. Insanely Consistent - I’ve been following these guys since the beginning of Snacks Daily and to be honest, I’m just afraid of them ever changing their minds in what they do. I’m only but I hope they keep doing this till I retire ( absolutely no sarcasm ) This is literally the best podcast I’ve ever listened to and I listen to about - a day for the past years. To Nick and Jack, your formula is so good that it’s hard to believe you guys ever had a bad day. Thank you - Ariel from Northern NJ

5. Surface-level news that sacrifices quality for quip - Stories tend to be extremely surface-level and hosts fail to provide in depth explanations behind business or economic developments. For example, a recent episode about chicken prices and inflation relies on a quote from Tyson to explain rising chicken prices, disregarding broader context like worker shortages due to lack of COVID protections or impacts of industrial chicken farming. Hosts conclude that now that Tyson has confirmed a “healthy” chicken supply, there will be low chicken prices for consumers, calling it a “win-win.” An ignorant conclusion given that the evidence relies on a company with huge interest in a positively-spun story. Not impressed with the hosts’ ability to ignore macroeconomic factors for the sake of delivering quippy news stories.

6. Short, fun, entertaining, and educational! - Nick and Jack have hooked me from the Snacks Daily days. HYHYSD? I literally asked that to a couple of my co-workers just for fun lol. I listen to this podcast every morning (Monday-Friday) on my way to work, while I’m jogging, or checking emails. It’s interesting to hear news about the companies you own stock in. They give insights on why a stock price rose or fell so much. They explain things pretty well and they do it in a fun and entertaining way. The podcasts are not super long so if I missed one the day before, I can play it BB (back to back). I love the fun facts at the end of the shows. Great job guys!

7. Good not best yet - Love the concept of the podcast, long time listener since robinhood snack days..please stop using NYT as a news source, they have lost all credibility, and while it’s tough to keep your bias out of stories, they are so interesting and it does bother me when I hear your political slant.. the pod is fast and fun and best of luck expanding your social media presence with the new hire.

8. Just What I Need - This pod is just what I need in the morning to keep me informed and keep me entertained. I could go with out all the shout outs at the end but know the guys are just trying to support their listeners. Love that it is a start up pod and wish I could do it with a buddy. Keep up the great work and here is to k reviews.

1. Progressively more “progressive” - Podcast is evolving. In summer , leftist pieces began appearing on a near daily basis. That seems better now. But the journalists are more often asked their own opinion on issues and what they seem to think is the middle ground would be left of center for many. e.g. Certain special minorities deserve more than equality or the Republicans are misbehaving if they do exactly what Democrats do. Yet it’s cheerful and accomplishs its goal. Now the commmercials are back. They are very annoying. I will unfollow. Sad

2. Best Start to my day! - Every day I wake up and listen to this podcast as I am making my bed and starting my day. It keeps me in the know! I mostly appreciate that the topics are so wide and versatile, without a political affiliation. Often I listen to the news and get overwhelmed and a sense of hopelessness, but this podcast brings it all, which gives a nice balance to my intake of news.

3. This Pod I loved is changing…..and not necessarily for the better - Loyal listener for years. The past two days I missed hearing Taylor Wilson as the host. I realize everyone needs a few days off but I hope he’s back soon. Not the same show without him. On Friday’s show, the female voice , Sherie Saunders was not great. Maybe a good journalist but her voice is not made for radio. I had to turn it off after a few seconds and switch to NPR podcasts instead. Also noticing the great format of top stories has changed. The whole point is to have a pod where we can get the top headlines in a concise and easy podcast. Some of the stories seem to be pushing more left and not the trusted middle ground of USA Today. Hope the changes are just temporary as this is my go-to morning pod that I have loved and listened to for years. It was great to have a trusted go-to daily podcast with a host I like that gave me what I needed to know without all the bias.

4. What is a sober drink? - Good Morning, I just listened to your episode regarding sober drinking. Unfortunately, you left out some very important information regarding THC and CBD drinks. If a person has a job that randomly drug tests they could fail when using THC or CBD drinks. CBD is very unregulated and must be rd party tested to insure the trace amounts of THC within the CBD. Legal CBD must contain under . % of THC. If the person is using THC drinks they will likely have THC in a urinalysis test for to days. Just a reminder that while many states have legalized marijuana, many employers have not. Thank You guys for all the great pod casts.
Enjoy your day, Nancy S.

5. Brief and informative - I like that the program is short. It captures the most important things of the day and the news reporters are truly taking a neutral stand (rare in today’s media environment). Saturday and Sunday shows are more in depth but also interesting to listen to. Best use of my time!

6. Been hours behind all week! - Enjoyed the podcast until they started having more audio from their story writers. Their clips are too long, the reporters drone on to the point I just tune them out. That kind of reporting is what the paper is for. I stopped following when the reporter was asked what would happen with efforts to defund the FBI. After droning on for minutes it was clear she really didn’t have a clue. I believe there should be more stories from the host and less audio from the reporters.

7. Consistently missing the mark. - This podcast used to be a well-curated and relatively unbiased source for important news. Over the last year, it has degraded to an increasingly skewed outlet for occasionally interesting news. Sports must play a far smaller role (which I say as a sports fan), an attempt should be made to be less overtly biased, and far less attention should be given to the input of average Americans—we need to hear input from experts. I’m not saying that it is a lost cause. I think that a show modeled off of BBC’s approach that is curated for an American audience would be far more interesting. USA Today used to have the reputation of being unbiased but has strayed quite far from that. I’m not saying this from one side of the aisle or the other. I’m saying that well-researched news should make both sides uncomfortable.
2022-04-12
8. Reliable overview and in-depth when necessary - I rely on things to help guide my way through the news each day. I love the coverage of all major news daily. Sometimes an in depth expert is brought in to succinctly report on a particular topic. Weekend episodes seemed a bit more qualitative than straight news. Overall I’d recommend highly. I can even listen to it with the kids in the car for the most part. Thanks for the news even though it does come from a left perspective. At least it’s not far left.

1. Spoilers with zero warning - I quit listening to CNN Things because if you’re a little behind on live sports they spoil the outcome with zero warning. I thought I was safe listening to the morning edition from before today’s World Cup match even began; not so! The episode audio was updated after to spoil the result, while the written episode description says the event will occur in the future. Podcasts aren’t live news. Post spoiler alerts CNN! Some of us have jobs.

2. News Quick and accurate - I was getting five things in my email and I would read that every morning. When the podcast came out I loved it because I can listen to my News. Why I like it so much is because it’s five minutes or less and I like that it’s done several times throughout the day great awesome wonderful. I now listen on Amazon prime with no ads
2022-12-14
3. Disappointing - I listened to this morning’s episode (Saturday, Dec ) expecting to hear something about Twitter exposing emails this morning, since everything else about Twitter has been highlighted since Elon Musk bought it (and prior to him buying it). Today, when major news had broken on Twitter? Nothing.
I thought this was unbiased, but I’m afraid this podcast too is hiding truths.
2022-12-03
4. Ads - I’m turning off your program - The Geico ad has made me turn off your program !!which used to be my number one podcast and quick news story’s of the day! Now I can’t listen to this ad , over n over, an over i, I have deleted you. Please change the ads you use Frequently!! Or you will lose more listener’s. Thanks

5. MUSIC NOISE ASSAULTS THE SENSES - Blaring PT Barnum, headache producing type noise, masquerading as music, assault the ears before one bit of news. Then, CNN blasts you with putative news that sounds like in was filtered first through game show stupidity. I’ll take NEWS-NPR, and NEWS-BBC podcasts over this “dog & pony show” anytime. CNN focus on entertaining their listeners is poison for straight news.

6. . - why don’t u do a story or have a discussion about why boris johnson eats birthday cake and a few other non big deal things and he gets ousted. compare that to trump having high security level docs, nuclear secret docs, etc. (he knew he had them because trump said they are his and he can keep them) and people make excuses for trump and to question why he had them to right is treasonist when what trump did is treasonist. what is wrong with US? many days i wish we had lost the revolutionary war. ahh yes, parliament, slavery ended much earlier, etc. there is a lot the founding fathers mucked up with this now broken experiment.
2022-09-07
7. Deleting app - Now that CNN has taken a turn and fired Brian Stelter and John Woodward, both stellar journalists telling the truth with integrity, I am going elsewhere for my news. You cannot both sides things like democracy. The right wing already has a huge market share of the news so it’s sad to see you want to stoop to their level rather fight for truth and our democracy. So disappointing.
2022-09-07
8. Change the Speaker please - Awful monotonic voice. It’s like listening to a robot. I love the idea of a short concise update and after listening to many much longer CNN podcasts I decided to try this. But I can’t even listen for the entire short time because she speaks so terribly! Going back to your longer podcasts where the hosts have better speaking personalities. This is too painful and it’s only minutes which is really too bad because I love the concept.

1. Best Daily Ukraine Podcast - It’s not even close. Absolute experts and professionals who seamlessly blend a strong knowledge of battle tactics, Ukrainian history, Russian history, on-the-ground understanding and guest experts. An unbelievably good resource for staying up to date with the war in Ukraine.
2023-03-05
2. A Little Help from Your Friends - These reports from stellar journalists have gotten me through the shock of this year without feeling complete despair. They combine military, political, and humanitarian news into compelling reports along with unique local guests. I love Dom’s tank reports. I love the simple questions they ask the guests without a preamble. The round up at the end is emotionally satisfying somehow. Even if it is not “positive”. They all seem in it together with us who worry and watch Ukraine’s fight from afar. And I love that you acknowledge the need to take care of yourself during this war, no matter your role. It’s okay if you’re not okay. We’re in it together. Much respect to you. Carry on!

3. By far the best Ukraine podcast, particularly for policy - I’ve spent a bunch of the last year traveling back and forward from Ukraine and have found the lack of a peer to this podcast generally disappointing. On Twitter and in the news there are many competing excellent outfits. In particular, the reports on domestic politics in Ukraine and similar topics bring out a sense of familiarity with the diversity of Ukraine. Read books by Kurkov or speak with a broad array of people in Ukraine and you’ll find a world recognizable in this podcast. When I lived in Iraq, working for the Iraqi government, it used to be endlessly depressing that there was no one who would talk on the news, or even in all that many committee hearings, insightfully about Iraqi politics without hyperbole or ignorance. Ukraine coverage is significantly better, but would still evoke this feeling for me if it was not for this podcast. And, to be fair, even in podcasts there are the BBC and VOA offerings which can be almost as good in the human interest areas. But for history, policy, and nuts and bolts of the war, there’s just nothing like this. This is true to the point where it has become a shibboleth among wonks here in DC; Because everyone with any interest in the war follows it, the lack of awareness of this podcast has become a great way to spot a crank. Make a confirming joke referencing progressive or alt right content or check how sad they were that Corbyn isn’t PM and you’ll find that missing U:TL is just a devastatingly accurate predictor of kookery among heavy news consumers. If the person doesn’t consume a lot of news it loses value, but with luck as the second year of the war drags on even those who do not regularly consume news will discover the talent on show here. All of which is to say that I love the podcast, but would also be excited if the talent could be redistributed to make other organs better. We shouldn’t have so much of the fate of the free world resting on one outlet.

4. Good variety & thorough - Wide variety of stories and analysis from Ukraine. Their interviews with various people have done so much to fill out my understanding of the region, its history, politics, and culture. Their regular correspondents do a great job of staying grounded in reality while stating what they do know vs what evidence only partially supports.

5. Indispensable - The Latest is key to my understanding the Russian war in Ukraine. It has allowed me to put the current conflict into perspective by explaining the events reported in other media outlets and fills in the knowledge gaps left by others. Thank you for providing this important service which is crucial to this struggle.

6. Indispensable…Feels like my own personal, daily war room briefing. - Brilliant and insightful coverage of the war in Ukraine, on a daily basis. It’s my most valued podcast. Dom and team “know their onions” and bring on subject matter experts to help fill out context. I’ve been listening since the beginning of the war everyday, and by now I feel like these guys are my friends… personally, I like to listen to “my briefing” each evening with a glass of Bushmills in hand! Well done, guys. M.B. - Califon, NJ USA

7. Balanced, Detailed and Insightful - I have been a regular listener to the podcast for the last months and want to say how much I have learned and continue to learn. The range of elements covered from the impact on children to what “combined operations” is unmatched. Their is genuine objectivity but at the same time the team does not pull there punches (and of course it is the Russian leadership that deserves the majority of these). Congratulations to the team putting it together. It helps makes my morning commute in Trinidad a lot better!

8. Journalism as it should be - Daily American listener from Chicago, IL. The team clearly works hard to be as knowledgeable as possible and is honest when they are not. The discussions are held in a straightforward, responsible and earnest manner by people who seem to care deeply about what they do. I even find myself re-listening to many of the previous weeks episodes over the weekend. Well done!

1. Excellent show weighed down by generic production - I absolutely love starting my mornings with this information but my entire body bristles when I hear the generic podcast backing track music. It just sounds so fake it literally ends a shiver down my spine. It just seems like something a consultant told Axios to do rather than an organic choice and I find it grating which frequently makes me NOT want to start my day with this podcast
2023-01-27
2. Grateful - I appreciate the clear crisp reporting of the facts behind the news you provide. Three cheers for Axios Today. I am rereading “all the presidents men” by Bernstein & Woodward. (Thank you guys)
Redford/Hoffman movie, reminds how values have changed but we haven’t lost our values. Three cheers for valued reporters!
2022-08-12
3. Good length & topic choice. Bad bias. - I listen % of mornings for the last years. Axios does a terrible job at giving both sides a “fair shake” at an issue and I say that as someone who has never, and likely never will vote anything other than democrat. Sometimes it’s subtle but they will make a statement as if it’s a fact that everyone can agree upon when it is in fact only one opinion on an issue, and an opinion on which good faith people can respectfully disagree. Overall the podcast keeps me informed and I love the length, but I think it is contributing to hyper-partisanship.
2022-08-03
4. Leading Questions - Niala asks FAR too many leading questions of her guests. Either ask open-ended questions and trust your guests to provide insight to the listeners, or just tell the whole story yourself. Why does a guest need to be there if Niala asks a pointed question that ends “…, right?”
2022-07-07
5. Excellent news overview - I live in the Midwest in the U.S. and this podcast is a great overview of the top stories that are going on around the world. I listen every morning. I also appreciate that I can reach out to Naila and the team directly. I love the familiar voice of Naila but also that she gets a break w guest hosts!
2022-06-11
6. How I begin most mornings - I have a short trip to work, and so for me, this podcast is just about the right length, and for my usual sleepy state in the morning, just about the right depth. I have mixed emotions about the soundtracks that they play with the various news stories; the music does help focus your attention, but also might be a little heavy on playing to your emotions. I must admit, that when I listen to Axios, it does seem like the reporters have become old friends, and I enjoy their daily visit.
2022-06-09
7. Extremely biased podcast - Avoid this podcast if you are interested in objectivity. The host of the podcast is blatantly biased and non-objective in presenting stories and asking (leading) questions of the interviewees. She consistently presents only left wing, progressive talking points. This would be fine if Axios didn’t position itself as an objective news service, but it does - the Axios Manifesto itself states it will never be a platform for incitement or argument. With Axios Today and its current host, they absolutely fail in this regard. This is a shame because the Axios newsletters, of which I subscribe to many, are far less biased. Axios presents a mostly left wing perspective to be sure, but most newsletter authors (although not all) are fair, generally speaking. Axios Today has also gotten worse over time with its progressive slant. For those that don’t believe Axios is a left-leaning outlet, I remind you that investors in Axios include NBC and the owners of Atlantic Media, just to name two. Axios reporters also appear regularly on CNN and MSNBC. Therefore, after over a year of listening, I am unsubscribing until they find a new host that presents the news in a fair, objective, and (mostly) non-partisan manner. Hopefully this is done sooner rather than later. I get the sense the podcast is not doing well as literally every newsletter I have read on the app lately has ads for Axios Today embedded within them. Finally, I suggest to Axios that if you want to be taken seriously when it comes to talking/writing about major companies (Amazon, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Facebook, and JP Morgan Chase, just to name a few), perhaps find other sources of ad revenue. You can say all you want that sponsorship has no influence on editorial content, but if you actually believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell to you.
2022-05-26
8. Not as neutral as Axios news - I appreciate Axios’ reporting on many topics\issues and enjoy their app. This audio ‘news-digest’ however, is far from impartial, covering cultural issues from a very leftist perspective and straw-manning differing views. Even ‘Morning Wire’ from the Daily Wire (which is unabashedly conservative) covers cultural issues with less implicit bias.
