1. Great Information from Many Perspectives and Disciplines - Thank you for your work to bring some many different voices to this podcast! I love what I am learning from you and I appreciate the sensitivity you have for learners who are varied in skill and experience. Please consider child first language in the future. A child is a child first and primarily. Secondary is his or her special learning needs. “A child with a learning disability” rather than “an LD child”. Twenty years in education and my year old daughter brought this to my attention from her training at university. Thank you again for the impact you are making for the next generation of teachers and students! Well done!

2. Amazing Podcast! - Love the guests and how much research is done to let us teachers know what should be done in our classrooms (science of reading practices) instead of what is being mandated to be done (workshop models). Wish we now could get more time for science and social studies content to be given just as much press! Unfortunately these subjects are being pushed off because of time for reading and math focus. Maybe more with thematic units and interdisciplinary units. Thanks for podcasting!!

3. S-E: seeing through the eyes of a HS student with Dyslexia - How amazing is this episode!?! Wow! I work with students with a variety of abilities and challenges and would love to hear from more adults/teens to help us see through their eyes on how their disability directly affects them in a variety of areas, as well as how they’ve learned to find and build upon their strengths. This is a truly inspiring episode. Thank you for sharing!

4. Every episode has helped me grow as an educator! - Each episode had been x more helpful than any staff meeting or PD I’ve attended. The episodes leave me wanting more and thankful for the links so that I can continue to learn about the various topics that are discussed. I only wish my admin and colleagues would listen as well so that our school could grow together and understand the research.

5. Used to be good! - The first seasons were great. This last season is hard to listen to. The host always seems to be doing something else when the guest is talking and has a lag of response followed by a disinterested sounding “mmmm” or inserts a random “uh-huh” and “yeah” to try to cover for not actually paying attention. Also, there’s so much computer noise and clicking that needs to be dealt with. It’s very distracting and unprofessional. I wish the podcast was still as strong as it was in the beginning. I used to recommend people to listen to this podcast, but now I tell them only the first two seasons because it’s embarrassing to recommend something so poorly recorded and mediated now.

6. SOR start here - I am a first year first grade teacher. Graduated UC Irvine in with my MAT and started teaching bilingual learners during a pandemic all on Zoom. Summer before this, I started getting into SOR. This podcast is professional development. I’m obsessed! PD on the go, no-nonsense and diverse perspectives. This podcast is better than most books and workshops on the topic.

7. Flatulence of academics - Self absorbed academics inflated with debased coin of valuable content.
A podcast of specialized experts in reading which is amateurishly produced. So much money wasted on their research yet where is the yield? Don’t waste time. At least a reference is given to search elsewhere. Sad for their captives—the university students—$$$.

8. Pendulum in the right direction - In listening to the podcast I’ve heard repeatedly “teachers may be skeptical about change”. I think it’s quite the opposite. Teachers have known about the problems with the way in which we have taught decoding and comprehension for a long time. However our hands are tied with our curriculum. We are rated on our ability to implement the curriculum regardless of our personal beliefs. One of the biggest knowledge gaps I’ve experienced is having every student read different texts of their choice and then expecting students to all have the same academic outcome. Teachers did not invent the word facilitator of education. Textbook companies that have profited off of our students’ suffering have. Children need teachers who carve explicit academic pathways that engage students and drive their thirst for knowledge. To do this well we need vetted vertically aligned curriculum At least textbooks created equity.

1. Look forward to it every week - Paco is the best at making the conversation around finance insightful, entertaining (and funny!) while also feeling thoughtful and empathetic, with golden nuggets of practical application. You can feel her genuine curiosity about each guest and there is an ease to the conversation which makes it super enjoyable to listen to. I look forward to hearing the finance PSAs every week (“and knowing is half the battle!”) and I loved the $$ affirmations in the last episode Finally, someone in the money space who speaks my language!

2. Finance Favorite. - Discovered the podcast after reading the book which really changed everything for me! I try my best to listen to finance experts where I can but nothing is ever relatable and Paco is really the only human who speaks my language when it comes to money- she distills the important take always, she keeps it real and keeps it simple.
2023-03-12
3. A fresh voice for creative people ready to get more serious about money - I keep pointing friends and clients towards Paco’s work because I am often surprised about finance avoidance there is out there. This podcast keeps it real and offers an approachable way into the finance conversation in a thoughtful and entertaining way.

4. This is the Finance for the People sequel I didn’t know I needed - Paco’s book Finance for the People was so fun and insightful-I actually listened to the book on audible while following along with the book to take in the illustrations. I was bummed to finish, so having this podcast truly feels like the sequel I was hoping for. Paco reinvents finance talk, making it palpable, interesting and inviting and I’m stoked to experience all the ‘weird’ guests Paco interacts with!

Have you felt it? Something is rippling through humanity at this moment. It's a stirring... a longing... a remembering. A sense that we are more capable than we’ve been led to believe. We want to feel alive, not sedated.. but we've lost our way. We've traded a life intertwined with nature for asphalt and artificial lights. We've swapped natural movement for a sedentary existence. We've given up food from the earth in favor of food from the factory. We've sacrificed our traditional skillsets fo...

1. Love the topics - I love the range of topics covered on this show. She does a great job being thorough and is a good interviewer meaning she asks good questions. The sound quality is pretty good too. On some of the other homesteading podcasts I like to listen to, sound quality can be a short coming. One thing I would like to say is one of the guests on a December episode, the guy from Homestead rescue, didn’t have a clue what a hardiness zone was. I was floored by this. How can he help people with their homestead if he doesn’t know what they should and shouldn’t be cultivating, which is based on their zones? Once I heard that, I dismissed his ability to give advice and my phony radar went off. Has he never looked at a seed or plant magazine in his life? Odd. But that aside her guests are generally well vetted and they usually offer a helpful perspective. Thank you for making your podcast.

2. Real Title: I got rich from doterra multi-level marketing - I enjoyed the first few episodes of season , then it gets into straight episodes of when things really started to turn around for them. Multi-level marketing. Of course she likes to call it “network marketing”. Please, be honest about how you got where you are, what it’s really called, and all the people that get hurt lower down in MLM ponzi schemes. Yes, “it worked for me”, but look at what these schemes really do to people and society. I lost all respect and can’t listen anymore.

3. Homesteading as real life - I have so enjoyed the many podcasts from Jill. I feel inspired at the end of each episode because Jill uses the episode to educate me about how to live, what I would call, a more real life. I use the word real rather than simple because it is anything but. I feel like she has built for her family a foundation from which they can jump from but always remain weathered. She doesn’t say I have to have the same foundation, but she shows me how to create my own. In someways I think that is the definition of homesteading. Thank you for your time and I look forward listening for a long time to come.

4. Thank you, Jill - I love and appreciate Jill’s honesty, candor, and genuine presentation style. Jill shares her world and the reality of journeying through life on the farm as well as just growing as a person. I tell my daughter all the time that I feel so certain that if our lives intersected in real life we’d be good friends. . Thanks, Jill, for being a resource and advocate for REAL living.

5. Loved “free range kids” - Loved this episode! We ran totally wild - there was a creek & a river & our parents made sure we could swim & turned us loose to explore - we got into a few hairy situations but we handled it together & all grew up to be responsible, successful adults…and most importantly our sibling relationships are awesome despite us all growing up to do really different things (nurse, master teacher, cattle hauler & accountant). I see siblings that don’t get along & I can’t even wrap my mind around it & I think part of our tight relationship is from the bond we had being on our own a lot as kids! Thank you for this podcast!

6. Falseness and greed make for a sickening display - At first it was good, she had some tips for bread making and gardening that helped me tweak things, but eventually turns out the whole podcast is basically a doterra ad, all she cares about is starting business’ and selling stuff. I like to follow podcasts that follow the value for value system so I don’t have to listen to the constant selling- like Canary Cry Newstalk, now that’s a stellar podcast that isn’t pretending to be something they’re not. Some of the people she interviews are interesting, but you barely hear about her family, farm or homesteading it’s all about the normal citified version of business success. I was raised by a covert narcissistic mother with delusions of grandeur and a penchant to neglect her children for the sake of her own success and glory. Certainly not something I’d like to relive through a podcast that’s supposed to be about homesteading but is really not in the end… In my opinion homesteading is about family, provision, self sufficiency and sustainability. Not ice cream shops and MLM scum bag companies and “modern women” chasing their false gods. This woman has lost her way and the podcast is just pathetic once you get past the first season or two her personality and priorities change, or maybe she just shows her true colors. Don’t waste your time. PS the reviewer that said and work has got to be the stupidest person on earth, actual unbiased science has very much proven otherwise and if you comply you’re literally beyond brain dead. It’s time to wake up people. This is not the legitimate homesteader you were looking for, she’s just another false MLM-slinging city slicker personality who’s only focus is the almighty dollar. She should have aspired to be a lawyer or something by the way she acts, her true goals seem to be strictly monetary, she shows no true passion for farming and is on less acreage than most hobby farmers. What a huge disappointment and failure this podcast turned out to be.

7. Educational and fun - Jill’s podcast is one of my favorites to listen to. She is so knowledgeable and the episodes contain wonderful, useful information. At the same time, Jill is entertaining, hilarious, and someone you really want to be friends with. I’m often laughing out loud - and learning such great info! Jill, thank you for all the work you put into making this a great podcast.

8. Easy to listen to - I stumbled upon this podcast from a suggestion in a small farm and sustainability social media group. I am a HUGE fan! Though I live in the middle of farm culture I don’t have many friends that grow and create. This podcast has given me an outlet to “nerd out” on, start my wheels spinning faster, and given me courage to do more hard but good things. Thank you Jill for letting us be a part of your life, and hearing about your experiences of growing your homestead and community!

2. This show can help you reach your decluttering goal - I’ve been listening to multiple podcasts on Minimalism, and decided to settle on this one as part of my regular rotation. Deanna’s voice is calm and soothing and her information is very practical and useful. Her shows are not inundated with commercials and self-promotions. Highly recommend!

3. Very helpful show - I know this show is directed at moms, but as a college student this show has really helped me learn how I want to run my life as an adult. I feel lucky to have found it when I did and it has helped me build the skills to start adulthood in a happy, simple and productive way. Thanks!

4. A favorite! - I discovered this podcast a while back and listened to every episode. Deanna gives lots of great tips, has interesting guests and seems like such a sweet and kind person, there to offer support and cheer, not judgment! My house has some clutter, not loads, but I enjoy listening to the podcast especially while I’m cleaning. I find it very motivating. And the Wannabe Minimalist Facebook group is great, too! I hope there will be another challenge again soon because I found it to be so much fun and I got so much accomplished!

5. So helpful! - I just discovered wannabe minimalist yesterday and i am hooked. I can’t stop listening. Such a great vibe and i love the insights. I’m a mom of a year old wild boy who has been seeking trying to gain self love but also work on minimalism and i feel like this podcast hits all the marks! I promptly joined the Facebook group and i can’t wait to keep learning and growing

6. Motivating! - My husband and I (and our five kids) all have ADHD and really struggle with clutter and overwhelm. We have been married for years and have way too much stuff. Recently I have been trying really hard to minimize the amount of stuff in our home. I just found your podcast yesterday and binged a bunch of episodes while filling bags to donate and one of trash. Thank you for the motivating pep talks! I especially loved the episodes about how to de-clutter a closet and how to organize your clothing and what to keep and what not to and also the episode about paper clutter.

7. Self diagnosed hoarder - I lost everything to a house fire when I was a fresh man in high school. When I became an adult and had adult money, I blew through every pay check buying clothes and “ things” . It’s been years on that path and it’s time for a change. You are helping me out by not getting stressed and not feeling like I’m a disappointment. Thank you

8. Fate. - The only reason that comes to mind when I think about why I began listening to this podcast would be “fate”. It truly came into my life when I needed it most. I am a mom of six children, my husband works long hours and I also have just started up my own business from home. I am always walking around with an infant on my back, toddler on my hip, preschooler tugging at my shirt, two elementary school girls arguing and a teenager trying to tell me how I can be a better mom. I was run down. I love this podcast. I listen to it in my kitchen while I get chores done, my car while I chauffeur kids to activities and in the shower at night when I need to unwind and wash the sweat off! I love that we share the same views and values, I love all of the wonderful tips she’s given - I just cannot get enough!

1. Encouraging and very helpful! - I love this podcast! I have little kids and not a ton of time to listen to ALL the podcasts out there. I love how Pam gets straight to the point, gives helpful advice, is encouraging and makes its a short and sweet listen! I appreciate hearing about all of her years of experience!
2022-07-06
2. Life-changing Advice - That may sound drastic, but it was! Pam’s advice to only do min of each subject and to augment your “morning basket” has comply changed the atmosphere of our home school life from drudgery to joy abs a love of learning! I actually heard my kids say the like learning!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I LOVED Allison Burr’s episode - SO honest, raw, and grace-filled!! So true.

3. Needed to hear this - I just listened to all five of the Minutes to a Better Homeschool and after a very frustrating day with my two homeschoolers, it was exactly what I needed to hear. I’m a little over the fake Pinterest type homeschooling messages. Thank you for some realistic, down to earth help. This was concrete suggestions I can implement, starting tomorrow.
2021-10-13
4. Get connected and inspired! - I cannot thank you enough Pam for all the work you do. I’m still a homeschool wannabe and I’m just devouring these podcasts. It’s been the perfect way to spend some recharge/alone time at night while I reset our house for the next day. I LOVE hearing from all of these women and how different everyone is. And I just know that growing in confidence, which you speak/write about so well, is what’s going to help me finally jump into the homeschool pool. Thank you again!

5. Amazing - Just what I was looking for - I just found this podcast and I have been listening to every episode old and new. I have three boys (almost , almost , and months). My husband and I began the discussion of "should we homeschool?" earlier this year. Since that time I have been searching for groups, books, and advice. We do not have support from my family at this point, and it is encouraging to find support here. This podcast has it all. I love hearing from smart, seasoned homeschool moms. I feel like I have the opportunity to meet my role models - it is awesome to hear the voices of those who have written the books and blogs that I have explored. Thank you!

6. New host, same great content - I was a little concerned when Pam announced she was bringing in a guest host, but the new season is just as great! I really enjoyed the most recent interview with the Dad from Germany on entrepreneurship. Spurred some wonderful conversation for me and my husband. Thank you!!

7. Great info & great fun to listen to! - As a HS parent there is sooo much great info on Pam's podcasts that makes u grateful she takes the time to do them while HSing her ! But the great thing is that she makes u laugh or gives u that extra bit of encouragement u need while having these wonderful conversations with so many different types of HS parents. It just seems like she was born to do it!

8. Joyful, Helpful and Inspirational - I have wanted to write a review for quite some time and I am finally submitting it,

I am so pleased when a new podcast is available.....I immediately tune in. Thank you for all the encouragement that each episode brings to my homeschool, mama's heart.

1. Ads are blatant industry psyop - The show is fine but their sponsors are so blatantly industry propaganda. The ads about EVs are incredibly misleading and feel incredibly forced. “I love driving my zero tail pipe emission vehicle!” - who the heck talks like this?? Corporate focus group messaging with surgical precision to avoid having to mention all the other incredible harms that cars, including EVs, cause to our society. I like the hosts and the show, but cannot in good conscience support their sponsors.

2. Disappointed in Episode on Interracial Dating &Too Accepting of White USA Paradigm - The interviewer and guests on the episode on interracial dating didn’t display an understanding of how people of African descent built the world, including the wealth of the entire Western Hemisphere and Europe, according to renowned experts like Prof Howard French (Columbia), Prof Marlene Daut (Yale) & the late Profs Michel Trouillot (Univ of Chicago) and Cheikh Anta Diop (Université de Dakar). I mention this macro issue about the importance of people of African descent around the world because it was heartbreaking to hear how these women during this episode centered the fiction of Whiteness by only defining themselves in relation to White people. What I would tell the women on this show is free yourself from the White gaze, educate yourself on how Africa and its diasporas/descendants built the world and focus on how you exist in a world built by your people.

3. Came Here for One Episode and Stayed for Hours - As I am a Girl Boner Radio listener (host August McLaughlin), I wanted to hear the interview with August and her co-author, Jamila Dawson regarding the recent book, With Pleasure: Managing Trauma Triggers for More Vibrant Sex and Relationship. The episode on sexual consent with McLaughlin and Dawson was probably the best interview I have heard regarding the book, With Pleasure. I went on to listen to previous How To! episodes for the next four hours. I’m very selective with my podcast playlist, and this podcast is now among my regulars. Amanda Ripley can take the most tangled issue and separate the threads making for an informative yet entertaining episode every time. Hooray for How To!
2022-05-23
4. Disappointed with the Dog Episodes - Regarding the episode about what happens when a dog and a family don’t work out - I found it irresponsible to share the story of behavioral euthanasia without the caveat that the first step should always be investigating whether another home would allow the dog to thrive. Maybe the guest did this research and made the decision to euthanize her dog with the help of experts, but this was not clear from the conversation. I also found it irresponsible to air the expert’s out of context comments about how there is a shortage of dogs in this country. Yes, many urban areas do bring in animals from other parts of the country, but this is precisely because there is the OPPOSITE of a shortage of dogs in lots of areas. It’s journalistically unethical to have someone WHO BREEDS DOGS saying that that the “adopt don’t shop” mentality is harmful. Of course people need to be careful when they adopt a dog to ensure there is a good match, but much of the two dog episodes (particularly the second one) were conspicuously missing crucial (and potentially life-saving) information.

5. Overwhelming ads, underwhelming content - This is a good concept for a podcast! I burn through podcasts like crazy at work so I’m always happy to find a cool new one. Unfortunately, after listening to about episodes I think I’m done. I appreciate the work that goes into each in terms of finding people to interview for the show, but other than that there doesn’t seem to be a lot of research or depth in the subjects. It kind of feels like each could be condensed into a couple minutes of content but instead a simple and surface level subject is stretched thin for a half hour. For example, the episode on giving up a troublesome dog amounted to “it’s not shameful to give up your dog if it is overwhelming your entire life”. They didn’t go any deeper than that. Not to mention almost a third of the episode is ads :( I think this is hilighted in the way the ads are structured, especially at the beginning. It’s something like min of ads, mins introduction, then minutes of ads. I understand the need to profit for the work out in, but this is over the top and overwhelming. This podcast has a great foundation and it’s cool to hear from experts. At the same time I feel it needs more work to be worthwhile.
2021-12-28
6. Some very bad advice! - Never give up your K employer match! It’s like earning % interest. Other than that, most of the advice is too general to be useful, and appears to feature guests who are trying to sell their own books or podcasts. It is reasonably entertaining, but not a real how to about anything.
2021-12-28
7. Relevant and timely topics with good advice - I’ve listened to several of the recent shows and Amanda has been tackling interesting topics that I find quite relevant. Her rapport with the guests is like sitting down for coffee with a friend to exchange good advice. I especially liked the show about coaching youth sports!
2021-11-23
8. Productive and Hopeful - What I love about this show is how Amanda helps me see a problem from multiple perspectives. Each podcast has awesome interviews uncovering multiple moving parts and providing a menu of solutions. The best part is the bright light she brings into the picture. After I listen I feel like I have new tools and more confidence!

1. So Encouraging - I’ve lurked Charlotte Mason content for years but always felt like it seemed unattainable and wasn’t exactly what I was looking for - content was too heavily focused on just copying CM exactly which didn’t feel necessary or appropriate in ever case. Leah makes everything so much more approachable and realistic! I love that her podcasts have actionable steps that I walk away feeling inspired to do :) Thank you!!!

2. Delightful! - I love this podcast! Perfect listening while I do my daily chores. Thank you for the insight and encouragement in this homeschooling journey. Some of my favorites are when you and Dave team up…so much valuable insight. Not to mention how entertaining and genuinely delightful you guys are! One of my favorite podcasts for sure!!

3. So thankful! - I am so thankful for Leah’s perspective as I am in the beginning phases of homeschooling. I have greatly enjoyed her workshops and several podcast episodes. I am just dipping my toe into the CM method and this makes it all seem approachable and digestible. I can pace myself and grow WITH my daughter on this beautiful journey of home learning.

4. So glad to have discovered this podcast - Leah’s tender heart shines through every episode and makes me feel that I really can do this Charlotte Mason lifestyle. She is altogether without judgment and offers practical suggestions for cultivating a life according to Charlotte Mason’s principles. I love how the show is structured to weave together personal stories, interviews, poems, and excerpts from Miss Mason herself. Absolutely lovely!

5. Leah is so lovely! - I have enjoyed Leah’s Modern Miss Mason Unboxed course and that’s what brought me to the podcast. Her voice is musical and comforting, just like the cups of tea overlooking bird song filled sunrises she describes haha! Her podcast has interesting and encouraging content as well, with varied and well spoken guests.
2021-04-20
6. This speaks to my heart - Leah, your words and the guests you have on your podcast are just what I need to hear. I’m now in my th year of homeschooling and it’s taken me this long to discover Charlotte Mason as well as pull away from the public school mentality that is so engrained in me. Your podcasts give me reassurance that what I am doing is right and beautiful.

7. Inspired Me To Keep Going - Covid threw us into virtual school which was a shock for us. I felt like I was doing it all wrong and couldn’t wait for it to end...until I was introduced to Leah Boden’s podcast. When I met Charlotte Mason through Leah, I realized that at home learning could be so much more than what I was experiencing. My chest was heavy with hope as I devoured each show. We are now committed to homeschooling and the Charlotte Mason philosophy has become part of our home culture. Thank you, Leah!

8. An encouraging space and breath of fresh air - Listening to this podcast has been one of the best things I’ve done this year of homeschooling. Leah is kind, helpful, and encouraging. I am always inspired to dive into homeschooling after listening to her and her guests, and that is exactly what I need to start a new week. Thank you for encouraging me to homeschool MY unique family, in MY unique circumstances.

1. Wish I’d found you sooner! - Dawn, Cass and Dana I call the three amigos that changed my life. My only regret is that I did not find them sooner. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

2. So glad I found this podcast! - I have been an avid fan of Dawn for a couple years on YouTube and wanted to get more inspiration. 3. Episode : Things (Most) People Need to Declutter Successfully - Review only one episode
I love this Dawn Madsen, The Minimal Mom podcast episode. Madsen and her sister Diana Kokku discussed their experience helping clients declutter. I appreciated how sensitive they were to their clients belongings. Madsen and Kokku explained the importance of asking for help. Asking questions that will help declutter items. Also, seeing some permanent-stay items in different locations. I enjoyed this delightful and informative episode.

4. Love love love!! - I love this! I happened upon Dawn earlier this year on YouTube and she is a God send. I can’t even tell enough how I feel like God put her in my path so I could understand his desires for me! I also love that it doesn’t matter who you are, minimalism helps your mental health. I love that they have a podcast! It is helpful to have while I’m doing things around the house! I do wish they were a little longer, but just because I love listening to them so much!!! I love hearing the experiences of minimalism and how to apply them spiritually and practically. / would recommend.

5. Favorite Podcast - I followed Dawn and Diana over here from YouTube and love the addition of the podcast! I like listening while cooking or cleaning around the house, so having a podcast vs a video is actually a welcome change because it gives me freedom to multi task while listening. Love the encouragement of their chats!

6. Genuinely positive - Diana and Dawn, I’m sure, make their mother proud and I’m sure she modeled cheerfulness. You are both so uplifting and positive in everything it makes this grandma want to listen and learn. And you both have excellent communication. The information shared is easy and helpful. And Dawn, I’m a folder. I admire you for proudly not folding. You encourage stepping into efficiency but still maintaining your individuality. Love your YT and this podcast.

7. Great podcast - This podcast is a great addition to the Minimal Mom YouTube channel. I love hearing Dawn’s ideas. I think I would like it better without the short introduction and ending that are narrated by another woman; she talks like she is recording an infomercial. I would like to suggest that we hear only Dawn or Diana give an intro.

8. LOVE IT!! - LOVE your YouTube channel and love the podcast already. I just like listening to you talk lol. I loved your videos with Diana were really great as well and I’m glad I can still hear you guys together on here. You are always so very helpful, thoughtful and super fun and entertaining. You have been such a blessing. Especially with your collab with Dana and Cas. Keep doing what you’re doing and may God continue to bless your whole family!!!

1. One of the best shows … period - James is a genius and he is the best interviewer … what I like best about him is he asks tough questions and plays devils advocate many times … he challenges guests … also I love his vulnerability and how he shares the dark moments of entrepreneurial life … this is a must-listen-to show …

2. Extremely disappointed to hear Tony Robbins guest - Tony Robbins is a cult like “leader” with a documented and embarrassing history of discrimination, misinformation and selling snake oil health remedies. He spreads misinformation about Covid and vaccines. It’s EMBARRASSING you would invite him on your show. You’re probably getting a cut of whatever crap he’s selling now. Shame on you James for having this man on, you’ve lost the trust of your listeners for good.
2022-02-22
3. Chemistry - The “Millionaire” series is informative, fun, and entertaining as intended. But, Jen, Jay, and James have a real chemistry that could translate to any podcast format. It’s like being in a diner and sitting next to this table of three people who couldn’t be more different, but seem like old friends. I want to pull up a chair. Please keep it going.
2021-11-07
4. JFC stop interrupting your guests - I wanted to like this but couldn’t even finish the interview with Mary Karr. She’s one of my favorite writers, and so it would have been nice to actually hear her speak. I don’t care if it’s an East Coast thing or what, it’s so rude to constantly interrupt people like that. I cannot listen to it.

5. Please stop the part part splitting of episodes - This new thing of splitting your episodes into parts adds no value, it makes it much more annoying - especially while driving. What value is It to me??? Answer - NONE! If you are going to change things please make it better, not more annoying, difficult or just plain stupid! You are making the line L O N G E R with this stupid part part cut. Just stop doing it. Thank you Jon

6. Refreshing depth and vulnerability - I've been a fan of James' for years, and was honored to be featured in an edition of The Altucher Report on how to create meaningful connections. James' transparency about his own rise and fall…and rise and fall…and rise again… is so refreshing - and he brings the same openness and transparency to his interviews. Every episode is a beautiful reminder that no successful person got to where they are without struggle and failure - and if they can make life what they want to, so can you.
2021-09-04
7. My Favorite Podcast - This is by far my favorite podcast. The amount of work/research James does to prepare for each episode is so evident in the questions he asks his guests. And you can tell the guests are impressed as well. James listens to what the guests are saying, but more importantly- he listens to what isn’t being said. Each episode is packed with so much value. Cannot recommend enough. Craig S.

8. An Informed Perspective - I’ve been listening to James on my drive to and from work and keep coming back for his insightful commentary and connections to authorities in each field he discusses. He helps expand my thinking and I’ve learned a lot about business in the process - I’m actually using some of his ideas in a business I’m launching. Definitely worth the listen, can’t wait to see what he does next!

1. Love this podcast!! - Mike and Maggie, I love your show!!! Every episode makes me laugh out loud while learning something new!! As a financial coach, I am starting a list of episodes that I can recommend for specific situations and would love to know what you consider your TOP TEN most important episodes for those newer to personal finance topics! I’ve joined the Facebook group, so feel free to reply to me there or via DM. Thanks!!

2. Absolutely love this podcast - Hi Maggie and Mike,
I made the decision to retire last year at age . My daughter is so proud and first introduced me to the concepts of the FIRE movement!
My financial advisor had been telling me since before COVID that I had enough money to retire but I found it emotionally difficult to pull the trigger.
Initially I felt guilty because my parents always believed in working until the wheels fall off. I know there is so much more to life and have started to explore areas of myself that I never had time to develop before like my creative side and volunteering for worthy causes. I assist at a local yoga studio in exchange for a free membership.
However, none of my friends or my sisters are in my situation. Since retiring, I have found myself wishing for a way to connect with others out there in similar circumstances.
When I found your podcast, I couldn’t believe how much i resonated with me! I must have binge listened to four episodes in one day. Since then, I have been going back and listening to all the old episodes from the pandemic until now. Love you guys I have no idea how many listeners are following you but I hope you have a wide enough audience to keep going because you both are so relatable and talented at finding topics for your podcast that are entertaining and useful at the same time.
Have you given any thought to doing a podcast on the value of software products like Income lab or Personal Capital’s Withdrawal planner? Or just about the value of a financial planner? Maybe what to look for in a financial advisor who supports the FIRE mentality?
I’ve had the same financial advisor for many years but he doesn’t invest in more innovative software planning tools that clients can use themselves to track how they are doing throughout retirement and try to understand the best tax strategy for withdrawals over time. I spent much of my life saving and getting to the point where I can retire. Now that I am here, it would be reassuring to know that I am still on track and also that I am taking advantage of any tax strategies. I have always used TurboTax to do my taxes. Should I get a CPA to advise on this?
It seems like there is a hole in this space since individuals can’t purchase Income lab or use similar programs (PC’s Withdrawal planner). You have to work with a financial advisor who has access to this.
And I checked out your Etsy templates but they don’t have this focus or functionality.
Thanks for being such an awesome inspiration!
-Christina Brabham

3. Fun discussions - Thanks for this great podcast. I love Mike and Maggie and their contrasting styles. I would like to see Mike and Maggie acknowledge their privilege more. On an episode about saving to retire early, they were like, save % of your income. Easier to do on a higher salary and living under your means than a much lower salary. Also, they have often discussed putting all savings into retirement funds but if you were to retire early, you need the money in taxable funds.

4. Another reason to love Mondays! - I absolutely love this podcast! I follow a number of personal finance podcasts but this one is my favorite. Mike and Maggie are a great duo! They complement one another perfectly! Together with her context and his factual side, they really help bring life to their content. And although I know they’re not married, the show reminds me of the old couple-caster vibe from podcasting’s early days (if anything, they portray siblings more than friends sometimes). I appreciate how they mix in personal lessons and how to help have these conversations with friends and loved ones (the whole point of the show). I look forward to listening to a new show every Monday!

5. Life changing Financial Advice - Maggie and Mike are next level excellent. I especially love that Maggie isn’t as far along in her FIRE journey as Mike, even though she’s successfully retired early and has achieved her many of her goals. It makes for a very relatable, actionable podcast that feels fun and also extremely useful at the same time. The juxtaposition of Mikes no nonsense advice and Maggie’s “context” is a perfect podcast host union. I’ve adjusted and changed our families financial lives for the better since finding this podcast and continue to learn more every episode!

6. Love this podcast- Maggie is awesome! - I listen to this podcast every Monday morning as part of my ritual. I love how spot on the topics are. Maggie and Mike are super open about their perspectives, experiences and finances. I am always interested in Maggie’s perspective as she says what no-one else will say, is unfiltered and very intelligent. It is difficult to make finance a fun topic but somehow these two folks make it enjoyable to listen to. And yes, I also love how Maggie goes off topic to something even more interesting! This is a labor of love with no sponsors.., thanks for educating us on such an important topic. I have learned and applied so much from you… especially deferred compensation.

7. Engaging, Informative, Fun - Friends on Fire is uniquely entertaining and thoroughly informative podcast that chronicles the personal journeys of two friends and their respective families. Through their experiences and stories, we get to hear about diverse topics that range from spending to saving, working in corporate America to early retirement, even from mindfulness to minimalism. I've only been listening for a few weeks but I'd love to go back and check out their old episodes. Maggie is chirpy, engaging and witty. Mike is cerebral, articulate 'n precise and financially saavy. Ultimately, these are two relatable, everyday regular people who give us a weekly podcast that's % fun.
2023-01-13
8. Informative and fun combo! - I listen to A LOT of FI podcasts, and I put Friends on Fire in the top tier. They keep it real, share personal examples, and are a fun listen. While great friends, Maggie & Mike are very different, so it makes them the perfect yin & yang of FI. My two favorite things are hearing about Mike’s upbringing decades ago in a FI household (rare find in FI podcasting) and Maggie’s recent early retirement just outside her s. : )
2022-12-16
9. Fantastic podcast - I LOVE Friends on Fire, the banter between Mike and Maggie is always entertaining. I love the idea of friends being able to talk about finances, give and receive good advice and always willing to learn something from the other. Learned a lot from your podcast and have started to travel back my vacations. Always look forward to a new episode weekly.

1. Martial Law, really? - I have been a prepper all of my adult life. My learning had nothing to do with politics. I wanted to provide for my family. I am also a University graduate. Part of my thesis was involved in how politics sensationalises small pieces of trouble into blown up trouble even when it was just an attention ruse. When I was small and polio was striking this Country I remember my grandmother walking me to the elementary school for a polio vaccine. The vaccine was in a sugar cube! I am still not convinced that method was the most scientific approach to deliver such a thing but I never got polio. She cared enough to want to protect me. Most every American has a vaccination history we all presented to attend school. I could be baffled why the Covid vaccine has become politicised if I hadn’t seen this kind of nonsense in our history before. I have been vaccinated & boosted yet I still got Covid but not as bad as it could have been. My police officer daughter, the same. Yet we lost a family member to Covid because they didn’t believe in the vaccination. My neighbours, both lost a sibling. Same reason. I am an American and while my fellow Americans who naysay the vaccination say it is about rights, what about the infringement of you exposing your disease on me or anyone else, what about my rights? It is about doing what you can for your community. It is hardly a political question. You comply with community by having a drivers license, having your childhood vaccinations , by not stealing and a bizillion other social contracts. Admit it, you are get getting attention like the slimy politicians who told us for instance our children were super predators in . That scare by the way caused draconian laws against our youth. When I heard this podcast these thought ran thru my mind. Yes you have st Amendment rights but what about your social responsibility as a citizen. I see no merit whatsoever in this particular podcast.

2. New FAVORITE podcast!! - I just came across this podcast a couple weeks ago and have been listening. I absolutely love the format and the discussion on topics related to preparedness. But I also like is that you’re not moving too slowly or too quickly your pacing is for me perfect. Please keep up the good work and I will be sharing your podcast with my like-minded friends.
2021-09-15
3. Waste of time! - Don’t waste your time listening to this. It is nothing more than a regurgitation of the lame stream media. I thought this would be informative about what the lasting issues would be helping us learn to navigate our new reality but this is nothing more than whining and anti-Trump rhetoric. No matter what he did these people would be complaining. So disappointed.
2020-05-19
4. Right on the money! - Listened to them for years. Admittedly, I can’t listen on a regular schedule, but everything they’ve ever talked about has lead up to this moment. And because I’ve prepped, I’m not worried about going shopping, running out of supplies or ammo. People think preppers are a fringe society, but that fringe society is sorry pretry right. Just bug in!!!

5. Perfect. - Great info on. Going off grid, prepping, bugging out and survival. Not sure why some people are judging their foreign policy knowledge since that’s not anything to do with it ? Keep it up guys ! And girl ! P.s. more tin foil hat ! Government admits there’s UAP’s. They have a ton more secrets. Gotta be prepared for anything and all things !

6. Just great!!! - This podcast is informative, entertaining, and funny. I listened to the most recent one about two weeks ago and couldn’t stop. Bought a lifetime membership so I could go back and start at the beginning. So much information, it has changed the way I prep and live. It’s all combined into one now. Thank you so much Dale and Lisa.
2019-04-25
7. Disorganized - Maybe write a script of the topic and stick with it. Like the content though most of it I learned in Boy Scouts, but a refresher is good. Content presented in a poor manner with no organization and entirely to much chatter and jumping around and off stated topics before getting to anything useful. This was the case with all episodes I tolerated.
2019-02-23
8. Knowledgeable hosts, but too way too much banter - The hosts clearly know a lot of preparedness and are generally well respected “preppies.” So, it’s unfortunate they’re not able to better convey their knowledge. I would estimate about half of the podcast is empty conversation between the hosts (who I believe are a married couple). They tend to run down irrelevant tangents and talk shop without sticking to the topic at hand. I fee like I need to listen to this podcast on .x just in the interest of not wasting my time.
2018-09-13
9. Would you know how to handle life without today’s conveniences? - Dale and Lisa give you plenty to think about in their podcasts. A weekly show that makes you think, “What would I do if.....?”. If you are concerned with all of the horrible things you see in the news, then listen to this podcast and start preparing. Great information gathered by Dale and Lisa and broken down to help a wide demographic of people. (Urban, Rural, Beginner, or Experienced preparedness) Thank you guys for your dedication to help inform those of us that have know idea where to start.

1. I love this podcast - The opening music is calming and puts you in the right frame of mind for listening to interesting advice. The advice is always fresh and thought-provoking and comes from people who seem nice, and interesting. Zak, the host, is so likable—he just seems openminded, curious and fun. Because each episode is only a few or several minutes, I can always make time for it. Anytime I get an email announcing a new episode, I want to listen immediately. Can’t recommend it enough.

2. Like enjoying a special piece of chocolate - I’ve been listening to this podcast since the very beginning. When a new one comes up in my cue, I feel like someone has brought me a surprise treat! Just about every episode is delightful and thought provoking, and short enough to fit into any little gap in your day. But sometimes they’re EXTRA special, like the // episode at On Air Fest. It’s a good bit longer than most, but just PACKED with great snippets of advice on creativity. One of the best yet, Zak!

3. Favorite Way to start the day! - I love this podcast so much. Each episode is only a few minutes long and I look forward to listening in the morning. Tons of different advice, so any given episode could range from small topics to majorly important themes as we go through our lives. Zak is a wonderful interviewer and host.

4. Listen everyday - I actual listen to this podcast everyday... I’m not very good at being consistent but this podcast helps me to be better at it. It could be because each episode is so short but each episode does have good advices being given by others.. I totally love listening ...
Oh my gosh
I was surprised on Saturday to see an available episode.. now you say it’s was an accident.. kinda funny though!! Christmas Episode:
Loved ur letter to the year ..gave me a chuckle.

5. Such a delight - It took listening to a few to really get into this podcast but then I fell in love with it. There are so so many gems that genuinely have improved my life. I find myself sending episodes to friends and family all the time because it makes me think of them and it offers me a sweet moment of connection.

6. Perfectly Bite Sized Daily Reflection - Love this podcast! Such a great variety of really thought provoking pieces that make you reflect, balanced by sillier just for fun bits, and some just practical good advice. I listen to - episodes when I wake up each day or at night when I’m getting ready for bed, and it’s just the perfect bite-sized way to add a bit of thoughtfulness to your day.
2020-11-18
7. Great advice served up daily - Short (- minute) episodes each weekday, filled with fun, quirky, serious advice on nearly any topic you can think of. I like to save them up then listen to a week's worth at once - but you can easily listen to one a day in the morning, at lunch or whenever you want. The perfect pandemic podcast, for sure. Highly recommend. (Full disclaimer - the creator is my wife's cousin's husband - but writing that out I don't even think they're technically related so it's all good.)
2020-11-05
8. Highlight of my day - I always look forward to listening to the new days episode of this podcast. It is a little gem in my morning where I know I can just take time to just listen (it can be challenging to find time for other podcasts while I’m not doing something else) and just enjoy and absorb the moments of wisdom, undistracted. I also love going back and re-listening to this past episodes and better integrate what I’ve learned. Thank you!

1. Clear, kind, and fun - I’ve dabbled in home improvement for quite some time, because my father is very handy. As someone who is not a professional and has rented most of my life until recently it definitely takes some research when I face a new problem. Mercury has such an amazing natural talent for providing advice with so much compassion and humor in a cis/heterosexual/male dominated domain. The podcast is definitely worth a listen!
2022-12-03
2. Joyful and Informative! - Mercury and Maggie are wonderful! They tackle DIY questions in a fun, informative way that makes me feel more confident in my skills to DIY around the house. Sometimes it feels intimidating, but the joyful laughter and love makes this podcast a safe space for myself and many others also. Thank you! I’m so excited to listen in each week!

3. Fills a hole! - The handy ma’am is fantastic. She really fills a hole in the podcast space and in the DIY space. As someone who is disabled, with a fixed income, that wants to have a nice home, I feel helped and seen!!! Thank you ladies for doing this. You give me so much confidence to make it work!

4. Mercury Stardust is a gift! - I’m so excited about this podcast! I’ve been following this smoky-eyed babe for many months now and I’m so excited that she has even more content and wisdom for me to learn from. As a peanut-sized, gender-fluid, queer human, I’ve been dismissed by the home repair community more times than I can count. It’s been an interest of mine for many years, but I’ve found that the learning is slow when you’re not welcome in the community that dominates your interests. Enter Mercury Stardust!! Her approach to teaching makes me feel included. It makes me feel more than accepted - embraced - to see my people being good at what they do and enjoying sharing their skills with even more of my people! Representation is so important. So thank you, Mercury. Your work feeds my soul. I just have one question for you… will you make patches?! I want your merch on my coveralls!!

5. This podcast it for a certain type of person. - And that type of person is one who feels either misrepresented or not represented in a predominately male lead industry. The best part about this podcast is the Mercury trademark, to lead/begin with compassion. One does not need to be a member of the queer community to belong here, because if you’re a person you belong. I spent eight years working as a carpenter and the advice given in this podcast has been very similar to what I would suggest or do myself.

6. Compassionate DIY is what I never knew I needed - Mercury reminds listeners that we are worth the time it takes to learn a new skill. She’s so positive and uplifting. She reminds me a bit of Click and Clack- from Car Talk. You learn something, you laugh, and you feel good when you’re done listening. So happy for this show!
2022-11-05
7. Such a delight! - I love Mercury’s tips and vast knowledge of DIY and maintenance, and I’m so glad she has a podcast now! I tend to listen to podcasts while doing chores around the house, and this one is perfect. Even just listening to the first episode I’m learning so much! And Mercury’s laugh just brings me immense joy.

1. Excellent information delivered perfectly - So I listen to this on my Spotify account... I have not listened to sales training, and or workshop type information for years... Brian however made me want to Download the app and leave a review simply because if this info was available when I was a new rep holy cow would I have had much more success waaaaaay quicker! I haven’t wanted to purchase any sales training material in years this though I will absolutely be taking advantage of all that Brian’s podcasts and workshops offer. I am now systematically listening to his old podcasts, reading his e-book, taking advantage of the companies and systems he uses and will bit by not going through his workshops. So I can continue to identify things I have done “naturally” not just to know myself but more importantly teach my young reps! I’m telling you if you aren’t listening and more importantly applying Brian’s methods you are missing the boat!!!
2019-10-25
2. Brian stays current - The thing that separates Brian from the other guys out there is his committment to staying current. He is NOT "old sales guy" who yearns for the day when his favovrite sales technique worked. Rather, he focuses on principles that are timeless, while tailoring the techniques to what works TODAY. I just finished listening to anniverasry episode from last Sept. It's gold and a great place to start, if you've never listened before. Good selling!

3. Concise insights to help hone your craft - Brian keeps his interviews focused and always hammers on the areas that help you evolve in the ever-changing world of sales. I was reluctant to listen to any sales podcast at first, but Brian is the best at this, and I have yet to hear one that I didn’t get value from.

1. Valuable teaching podcast - I love this podcast. Marie and Amanda are a lot of fun to listen to each week. They’re goofy, but they’re not extra. Like I laugh with them instead of rolling my eyes (as I do to many influencers). The podcast truly has changed some of my teaching practices for the better, or it has confirmed some of my own teaching philosophy. It’s a smart, grounded podcast on best practices in ELA. What I really appreciate about Amanda & Marie is that this product is clearly a labor of love. I never feel as if I’m listening to an advertisement for something more. The show itself is quality. That being said, I think I’ve bought almost everything in Amanda’s TPT store! I hope this podcast continues for many seasons more. Thank you for all you do.

2. CAN Teach an Old Dog New Tricks - I just stumbled across your podcast two months ago when, in desperation (due to the fact that I had been handed a dual-credit American literature class because the teacher left mid-year) I began scouring the Internet for resources. My first year of teaching was way back in -. I came into the profession with the understanding that I was merely to assess whether students had read the assigned novel and could write decently. Over the last two months, my understanding of what it means to be a teacher, what it means to encourage thought and learning has completely exploded thanks to your podcast. I have overhauled not only the dual-credit American lit curriculum, but I am now also overhauling the th grade ELA curriculum (what I’ve been teaching for the last eight years). Essential questions, Sesame Street quizzes, close reads are showing up in all their blazing glory. Supplemental text? Yes, please! Honestly, I’m a little bit addicted. In your podcast about supplemental texts you gave a ton of resources, but then you also said that the supplemental texts would come to you as you just lived your life. This morning, as I was working out and listening to Hamilton, I thought, “ ‘My Shot’ would be an amazing supplemental text as I teach Great Gatsby with the EQ “Is the American Dream more likely to inspire or destroy?’ “ AAUUGGHH! I can’t wait to add that in! You both have breathed fresh life into a profession that I have loved for decades, but now holds even more joy and excitement for me and my students. THANK YOU!

3. Makes Me Want to Teach; Wait I Do! - First, thank you for hosting such an engaging podcast. Your friendship and the various ways you implement them is both fun and instructional. I actually take notes occasionally. I been a Trainer/Coach then Prof. and am now an th grade homeschool teacher. And while I do have an insatiably curiosity for learning, I have spent the last years trying to learn what it takes to be a teacher. My natural talent is writing and reading but when it became a critical part of the curriculum I was lost. It came naturally to me and my son who is both Gifted/Talented and dyslexic struggled and has avoided writing like castor oil, same with reading. This year will be different and I’m using your advice and can see some progress. There are quite a few homeschool parents who teach for other than religious reasons and we are constantly looking for resources to make homeschool more like real school. So, we are learning or getting another degree. I think I might have earned a PhD with all the content I’ve absorbed. Thank you for sharing your hard earned knowledge and helping us homeschool parents feel like we can teach our kiddos too.

4. Want to be library media specialist here - One, a suggestion for helping you guys with finding popular or more universally, popular and accessible YA books— speak with your schools, library media specialist for one, if your school has a reading specialist there another resource, group think with other ELA teachers teachers, or reach out to your local library’s teen librarian. Yes, I know the last one would require you to do work outside of class which isn’t fair/may not be doable but it’s a suggestion. Also, local bookstore talk to the booksellers they will know what is popular and what is selling. Two—I respectfully disagree with the conclusion one of the hosts mentioned about withdrawing a book as a class-read. It is a form of censorship— because your students don’t know about the choices they’re being offered, because you’re not letting them know. Therefore, it is a censorship of sorts. It may be for a simple reason—like you don’t want the book to go with that unit or something, but it’s still censorship in my eyes. And that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing in that context, but it really does depend on the situation. Finally, thank you for the great discussion question. I have an inquiry post I have to create for one of my teaching certification classes, so this podcast episode has been really helpful!

5. Applicable and Philosophical- Practically Perfect in Everyway - I listen to so many podcasts but this is my new favorite. I’ve devoured half the episodes in one weekend and I can’t wait to revisit them throughout my teaching career. Most podcasts are philosophical and stop there; making you wonder how do I do this in my own classroom? This podcast gives you both the application and philosophy that your educator heart needs. Truly a must listen for all English teachers grades -.

6. Amazing! So glad I found you! - I am an active podcast listener and have been following Amanda at Mud and Ink on Instagram for a couple of years now. I had no idea that she was part of a podcast! So, when I saw her post about reading the novel out loud because kids don’t read that recommended episode , I quickly looked it up! So good! I am going to use this method next week with my one honors English class. If all goes well, I will implement with my regular English classes. Thanks for the input!

7. Just what I need - I listen to Marie and Amanda every single week and always feel more inspired. They are down to earth, funny, and give me a realistic dose of how to improve my teaching. My only suggestion is to consider all the interruptions. Marie often cuts off Amanda and the other guests. Otherwise, it’s great.

8. Year Round Mentor - I happily stumbled on the Brave New Teaching podcast earlier this summer. I love listening to the honest voices of Amanda and Marie. As a veteran teacher who has taught, taken a long break to parent, and then returned to the classroom, I love hearing them talk about obstacles, wishful thinking, new discoveries, and ideas that have worked. Thank you Amanda and Marie! Mentors are important for constant growth, and I love having mentors I can listen to any day and time of the week that inspiration strikes.

9. Marie and Amanda are the bee’s knees - I found this from watching all of Marie’s YouTube videos, and quickly fell in love with this podcast and their friendship. The advice and content are so helpful! My favorite episode was probably the one where they recommend books they have taught, and I feel like I could have listened to them recommend books for many hours. I find them inspiring and I appreciate this podcast so much!

1. Thanks for the heads up! - Listening over the summer to prepare for L in the fall after being out of school for over years. Thank you is not enough for the gratitude I feel. Thanks so much for thoughtful and interesting, informative episodes! Thank you for sharing your personal life experiences with us!

2. good info but so condescending - They have good tips but deliver it in a way that is so condescending. They make fun of people for saying stupid things in class … Get a life. Also, take a shot every time she says she was a civ pro TA! She definitely has a superiority complex for someone that lasted about minutes in the actual field of law. years old still wanting a medal for getting As in school and not actually working in biglaw lol

3. A blessing for first-generation law students. - I started listening to this in the Spring before my L year. Leading up to school, the show helped me to understand the “game” that law school is, and to focus on the rules of the game to be able to win. I went into school as equipped as anyone else seemed to be, even if neither of my parents graduated college. A large part of that is owed to The Law School Toolbox. Now, in my L year I’m hunting through the back catalog for the “Listen and Learn” episodes to help supplement my readings. Thank you Law School Toolbox. You’re a big part of my successful law school experience.

4. Wow - Omg I’m very impressed with this podcast not only they explain the concepts but they go over essays! So helpful I wish I knew about this podcast during my first year of law school. Can you please cover more L subjects. I’d really appreciate hearsay exceptions! I’m definitely going to forward this podcast to my friends!

5. Great resource for first-gen students - Alison and Lee cover a range of topics, from how to prepare for L to "triage"-ing before finals, to the annual job search, to early career advice. Guests are mostly helpful and engaging. The hosts take a pragmatic approach to law school, giving actionable advice on how to achieve the ends you're looking for. Some topics and anecdotes get repeated multiple times, but I imagine that the assumption is that just because you're listening to episode doesn't mean you've listened to the episodes that came before. Overall, I feel much more prepared for L and law school in general after listening through most of their episodes and seeking out some of the resources they recommend.

6. So helpful! - I’ve listened to a few episodes as i prepare to take the LSATs and all the information is super helpful whether i learn something new or just feel better about a certain thing. The covid episode on the flex LSAT was sent straight from Jesus because I’m taking it in July and it is a flex exam. Thank you for covering this!!

7. Disappointed by LSAT episode - I’ve been a long-time fan of LST, but I was disappointed by episode , “Influence of the LSAT on the Law School Admission Process (with Shirag Shemmassian).” The host and the guest seemed to imply that someone could take both the LSAT and the GRE and then pick which score to send to law schools. This is NOT TRUE. Once you take the LSAT once, you are required to submit that and schools are required to report it. It happens automatically through the LSAC. You can still send in the GRE, but it will hold less weight. Likewise, if you’ve taken the GRE, some schools (NYU, for example) will require you to send it in, even if you’d prefer that they only consider the LSAT. The guest seemed to be completely unaware of these policies, which made me doubt his expertise and, by extension, the expertise of the Law School Toolbox team. It looks like the guest works mostly with college and medical school applicants. I’m not sure why he was featured here. I hope the hosts will rectify or clarify this on the show.

8. Love the Listen and Learn! - First off, this is a wonderful Podcast series. I have been listening for about a year now. When I saw the Negligence Per Se episode pop up today under the LST banner I was particularly excited. I am an older student (!) that begins L in the fall. I have been spending a lot of time getting acquainted with the basics of the L curriculum through various means. One of my favorite ways is to listen to your Bar Exam Toolbox (like the cross promotion?) and focus on your analysis of questions that cover first year topics. Those typically go pretty deep, as they should, but this Listen and Learn is a great way for L’s to get an intro to the basics without making your head spin! I hope there are more of these to come.

9. Review - I start law school this Fall as a non-traditional student in an evening program. I’ve found this podcasts to be incredibly helpful in giving me ideas of how I can prepare - from ideas to make outlines, requesting accommodations, etc. I had no idea commercial tutoring is available. Thank you for the valuable information the Toolbox for Law School podcast provides!

1. Stereotypical Homeschool Trope - In less than five minutes into the first episode I listened to, I was cringing at the stereotypical homeschool talking points- critical race theory (no one is teaching this- please move on), conservative Christian values under attack (yeah, that’s not happening either but nice try) and of course, the call to action to homeschool your kids to teach them your preferred curriculum (which I’m sure is suitably whitewashed and further upholds your ridiculous beliefs). So yeah- pass if you have any desire to homeschool for other reasons and aren’t the homeschool trifecta- conservative, Christian, and consider Tucker Carlson a reputable news source.

2. Excellent Show for Parents Who Homeschool! - I regret not finding out about this podcast sooner. It could've saved me so many headaches! Great homeschooling tips, and great content. If you homeschool by choice or not by choice, and find it to be a daunting and challenging task, then this show is for you!

3. Favorite “Momcast” - As a young (aspiring) homeschool mom, I love this podcast. It’s so encouraging, uplifting and PRACTICAL. Love the ladies, the topics and the tips. I feel like I’m in a Titus Bible Study. I always recommend to friends and fellow moms and really enjoy searching through all of the episodes. Thanks for a great podcast!

4. My favorite podcast - I am a longtime listener and fan of Pam Barnhill, and I have been very pleased with the transition of the podcast to Wendy Speake. Now I can still hear Pam on the Your Morning Basket podcast (which I love) and I have the new pleasure of hearing Wendy on this podcast. Her voice is comforting, reassuring, like a dear friend. I always feel better when I’ve heard the latest episode; there’s so much inspiration to be gained and wisdom to be gleaned. As a homeschool mom, I need to know that I am not alone, and I need to be encouraged every week! I love the format and I have enjoyed every episode. Thank you, Wendy!

5. Love this! - I have enjoyed listening to Pam on here, but I feel so comforted by this new format. Some comments I have read makes me think maybe the people were listening to something different saying something about inappropriate language...I’ve never heard any such thing. This is a good and beautiful podcast. Celebrating the gift of family and what others do for homeschooling and biblical teaching. It is uplifting and supportive. Thank you, Wendy!!

6. New format and host - When Pam Barnhill relinquished this podcast to the new host, I was disappointed, but willing to give the new content a listen. I have listened to the first few podcasts and felt it was okay, but it was not the same as what I had grown accustomed. However, while listening today to the podcast with a “boy mom” and hearing that more such “boy” centric discussions were planned in the future, I became disillusioned. Not raising boys, I feel this podcast is not be for me.

7. Maybe warn Listeners of language - The content of this blog is great, however on guest audio blog episodes it would be nice if there was a warning in the title or description that it included language that could be found by some listeners as inappropriate for a young audience. My and . year old were in the car listening when the reader casually says, “oh my G@d,” and “resting b@$^h face.” I had to turn it off immediately.

8. Used to be so good - This was an awesome podcast. Now it is run by a mom whose children are in a public school charter. That is completely fine. Each family needs to make their own choices...but not the person to be advising homeschool mothers on homeschooling. Thankful we can hear Pam Barnhill on another podcast!
2020-01-11
9. New host :/ - I use I love this podcast. Just listened to the episode with the new host Wendy. I am hoping she will turn down the uber Christian tone she speaks with. This was and should remain a podcast for all types of homeschoolers. I am skeptical of how she will interview and give advice to homeschoolers who don’t hold her views.

1. This podcast is such a gift!! - I just started doing some simple homeschool preschool this year with my year old son. The last several months I’ve been taking a deep dive into Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, and have fallen in love with it!! I found this podcast by just typing in “Charlotte Mason podcast” on apple podcasts, and I’m so so glad I did! Because of what I’ve learned from Julie and her guests, I am now reading Charlotte Mason’s “Home Education” book, am reading really good living books with my kids, am focusing on the habit of obedience. I’ve also been encouraged to continue to spend much time outdoors and memorize scripture with my kiddos. I’m so thankful for a Christ-centered, practical, and deeply thought-provoking podcast. Thank you for all you do!

2. So grateful! - I’ve always dreamed of homeschooling my kiddos but life was always so busy. When Covid and distance learning came, we decided now was the time to switch. I am so grateful for Julie and A Gentle Feast! This show gives such wisdom and encouragement at just the right time! Julie is real and genuine and feeds this Mama’s soul during uncharted territories for me;)

3. Charlotte Mason for all! - Julie is such an encouragement to every mother who is striving for an authentic Charlotte Mason education for her children. In an education culture that, while upholding truth and beauty, can also be intimidating and even divisive at times, she offers practical guidance and honest experience. I appreciate the wide range of guests and topics on this podcast. It just keeps getting better!

4. Great Podcast - We recently started homeschooling and found Charlotte Mason and then found Julie through Facebook. At that time I was so overwhelmed with figuring out what curriculum to choose and how to organize it all......fortunately I found out Julie had a curriculum called A Gentle Feast and I looked it over and it was just such an answer to my prayers.....we absolutely love her curriculum. I It’s been such a blessing to watch my boys thrive and love to learn! Then I found her podcast and it has helped me clarify some of my questions and helped me understand CM and her philosophy so much more! Thank you Julie, your amazing! God bless!

5. Cannot recommend strongly enough! - Once I was convinced to peruse a Charlotte Mason style education for my children (by For the Children’s Sake and an amazing, trailblazing friend), I found A Gentle Feast and never looked back. I’m so thankful to the Lord for this resource that so wonderfully brings together living ideas and books, as well as the enjoyment of nature. Julie and Shay have been like dear friends holding my hand on this adventure, lighting the path ahead a bit further every time they post a new podcast. And I couldn’t agree more with other reviewer‘s who have commented that Julie is down to earth and makes the Charlotte Mason education approachable. I’m so grateful for this podcast and only wish I had known about it sooner! Thank you, Julie and thank you, Shay!

6. Charlotte Mason “for the rest of us”! - If you’ve ever listened to podcasts by Charlotte Mason enthusiasts & felt like you could never live up to their ideals, Julie will be a breath of fresh air! She admits that, like all of us, she has her strengths & weaknesses. And she’s not afraid to use (& recommend) resources created by others to help compensate for her weak areas. While I’ve gleaned from & use some resources from other publishers (CM & otherwise), A Gentle Feast has proved to be the best fit for our family. And this podcast is an extension of the life-giving heart of that lovely “curriculum”! It’s true to Charlotte Mason but without the “purist” mentality. I’ve been blessed to meet Julie in person on multiple occasions & love that she’s as real on here as she is in real life. Thanks for sharing your research, your passion, and your real self with us, Julie!

7. Inspiring and empowering! - Julie shares her passion, knowledge, and experience for homeschooling using the Charlotte Mason approach through this podcast. It’s a fantastic resource for homeschooling parents, including those who are now homeschooling for the first time due to COVID. Thank you, Julie!

1. Best all around podcasts about retirement - I stumbled onto this wonderful presentation that mixes lifestyle planning and issues with financial issues, wellness issues, and the full gamut of retirement topics that could interest a future or current retiree. So much to learn, consider and explore! I especially like the recap of a few standout items the guest mentioned at the conclusion of each program. I’ve sent the link to a friend who may be on the retirement track in a couple of years. Great insights from the host and the guests.

2. Tutto Interesante - Just listened to Peter Guzzardi, nine emeralds from Wizard of Oz.; It was so enjoyable and interesting. The host always makes the program as interesting as the guest.
I really appreciate this retirement podcast. I’m semi retired attempting to live my best life each day. Thanks for what you do.

3. Must listen for soon to be retirees - Joe is a very likeable, laid back host who recognizes what his listeners want to hear. He is a voracious reader which enables him to seek out interesting guests to interview and learn from on the show. This is my favorite podcast which explores the non-financial aspects of retirement.
2022-09-23
4. Really insightful - Very much enjoying this. None of the typical trappings of Podcasts (no hard sell, hosts don’t feel they have to be funny, no crazy soundtracks and noises). Just straight forward questions and good info. Great guests with amazing bios. I love that the hosts wrap up the show with their takeaways and put all good info in the show notes. Well done!

5. A podcast for retirees looking to continue to grow - I’m enjoying this podcast. Read about it in the WSJ. It doesn’t talk down to you, is honest, not a hard sell, and focuses on topics that transcend financial - very important because emotional and mental well being are just as important. Retirees have a lot to offer society and this podcast shines a spotlight on those possibilities. Well done.
2021-12-20
6. Hoping other episodes are better - sorry, but the one on ‘The anti-retirement movement’ was very shallow, unhelpful and cliché-ridden. it was essentially a parody of what super -successful people discover when they stop working (spoiler alert!): Family, Travel, and Making desserts out of your field of lemon trees. The words “budget “, finances “, and “cost “are never mentioned. after a nod to serving on some boards of charitable organizations, they get to what their retirement is really about: making oneself your first priority and ‘ investing in yourself “.
I wish this couple well, but their plan is not one that I desire in the least. The softball questions from the unskeptical interviewer facilitated these impressions.
2021-11-03
7. Recommend to many friends and clients - I stumbled upon this podcast after hearing Joe Casey on a webinar. I find his style of conversation, questions, guests and content all fabulous. As a personal financial advisor, I can help clients with the money side of retirement but TRWP addresses the social, emotional and encore side of this transition. The guests are among the best I’ve heard on any podcast.
2021-05-27
8. If you only listen to one retirement podcast, make this it - If you’re eager to get wise about retirement, you’ve come to the right place. Not only are cohosts Joe Casey and Denis Wuestman knowledgeable guides/coaches, they are excellent interviewers who put their guests center stage and give them ample time to share their wisdom. Guests include authors, speakers and other thought leaders who are shaping the way we live and work in our s and beyond. You’ll not only get practical advice and actionable tips, you’ll enjoy real-life stories from individuals who are making the most of their lives. I’ve listened to every episode and am much better prepared for retirement as a result. I bet you will be, too!
