1. Impressions (Live) - Everyone is at their absolute best here. Great dialogue between 'Trane and Eric Dolphy. It was fun watching the chops Elvin had on drums. Hope there are more videos of this group. Amazing energy, expressiveness and group emotional commitment going on. Coltrane really knew how to assemble an outstanding - over the top - band!

1. Amazing VOICE - Ms. Vaughan had the most amazing voice I have ever heard. I can listen to her sing all day. Her range was incredible as was the crystal clarity of everything she sang. I believe she was the greatest singer of our time. A rare and beautiful soul who is surely missed but thankfully her music lives on and on.

2. DIVA with all capitals. - The one and only "SASSY ONE". This voice is angelic and Jazzy. God knows we need a voice like that now. The breathing, the phrasing, the majesty , the beauty, the soul. All the great music seems to reside in heaven. Can we at least have a few more videos of the masters. Please !!!!!!

3. Sarah Vaughan- The Best Jazz Singer off all time - It was such a treat to see rare video footage of Ms. Vaughan. I can listen to her sing on any given day. I sure miss the old school Jazz artist who put the feeling and emotional intensity into there vocal arrangements. Ms. Vaughan had at least a hundred different tones to her voice and that is mystical in itself because no other female jazz artist could sound like her. The only real jazz diva is Sarah "Sassy" Vaughan!

1. Love Can Be So Cold - This is G.D.'s typical excellent work, as usual. Never owned an album of his that ever made me less than impressed. He has played more musical genre than any other person i have ever heard of. His singing style enhances his powerful keyboard play. George Duke will always be the number selection on my I-Pod, be it Jazz, Funk, Classical, Brazilian, Soul, R&B........ The list goes on.

1. Good, but not what I expected from HCJ - The piano is there...and the vocals are there...but didn't hear any of the jazzy-brass that I've come to expect. And the piano is different from his work on the album: Occasion. I almost would say it's a little mainsteam, but that's only going off of the preview. My interest is peaked though to see what tone the album follows.

1. Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone - It's great because of Billie's presentation. I just wish the arranger was more sympathetic to her phrasing and the way she pays attention to the meaning of the words. The arrangement was bombastic and overwhelming - made for more of a show singer in Vegas. The arrangement was a mismatch. Sounded like a stock chart that was just thrown in 'cause it happened to be there.

1. My Baby Just Cares for Me - This performance exemplifies the beauty of the art that Nina Simone blessed our world with. Born in North Carolina, as Eunice Waymon, during the Great Depression, I am sure she was all too familiar with the kind racism and discrimination that was intended to continue oppressing great artists like herself. Nina proved to be one of those resilent Black women who rose above it all and continued to bless us, worldwide, with her amazing gifts.

1. WOW ME... - What do you get when you take the Jimi Hendrix of Banjo/Bela Fleck, The incrdible Harmonica of Howard Levy, The bass beyond basses of Victor Wooten & Future man's Drumming The SINISTER MINISTER! This is as good a Flecktones tune as any for a fabulous Music Video. There are other great Bela/Flecktone tunes... But if you're going to start somewhere... SM is a good Jumping off point! it's ard to classify this music - the genre is rather progressive - combining bluegrass with jazz & a whole lot of non-comercial progressive stuff too. they used to get upsest when these guys showed up @ bluegrass shows. We - here in Seattle - have always welcomed them with open ears & loud applause. I've seen them perform; from the days of the Flight of the Cosmic Hippo & UFO TOFU to Jingle All The Way.... Oh there's no stopping these guys - some classical, some jazz, some country, some bluegrass, some rock, you name it - they'll put their spin on it & make it sound like something beyond anything you ever imagined it would/could be... I used to wear out Sex in a Pan from UFO Tofu (a release)... Now there's so much to play & so little time. Check Bela & his Flecktones out - if you want something fun & original... WOW ME... will soon be uttered by U.
