2. Amazing!! - This book was on my school’s summer reading list. We had three books to read and like a typical high school student during the summer, I was not excited to spend my summer doing homework for all my classes, but on the first day of summer I was curious as to what this book was about and opened it up to read the first page. I thought that I would spend just a couple minutes reading the first few pages but the more I read, I could not put it down. I read and finished the book in less than hours. I was so blown away by the beautiful writing and stories/events that were shared I could not take my eyes off the paper. This book quickly became my all time favorite book and I recommend it to everyone!

3. An inspirational and funny read! - I really really enjoyed reading about Gabrielle's journey towards becoming an Olympic Gold Medalist! I learned about Her at the Olympic trials and I fell in love with her and her mother! I am a huge fan despite being much older. She motivates me to continue to work hard to achieve my dreams! I am just proud that she is strong in her Christian faith at such a young age and is not a ashamed to give God the glory for her success! I recommend this book for the young and old! Sacrifice, determination, and faith...the keys to success!

1. Great book! - It brought me back to my younger days in the Philippines! Growing up was a joy even with just the simplest things in life. Family and friends make everything fun and memorable! The food.... Oh how I remember the food. Nothing compares to good old Filipino cuisine. As I was reading this book to my daughter, I realized how fortunate she is. Even though she is growing up here the US, her mother has always managed to cook her some great Filipino food. We should never forget our heritage. As parents we are obligated to pass on our traditions and practices to our children. And what better way to start than food?! Thanks for making this book available to us!

2. Cora cooks pancit - I was delighted to read a children's book about a Filipino family cooking traditional Filipino cuisine. The story of Cora's grandfather being a cook for Filipino farm workers was very interesting to me, being a Filipino immigrant to California in the 's, myself. I would like to see more stories about Cora & her family - where they live, more family history, more cooking & seeing her growing up in America as a Filipino-American.

3. A snapshot of my childhood captured in this book! - This book stirred up memories of my mang (mom) letting me and my sisters watch her how to cook (Filipino foods). Mang used to let us do all the prep work (Believe me Filipino foods requires a lot of prep work!). I want to share this book with my daughter, she'll be thrilled to read something with her own cultural background. Salamat!
