We’re just pretending, and maybe she’s too good at that and I just haven’t realized.” /i /b b rating: /b . stars NEW COMFORT BOOK INCOMING!!! honestly, after reading henna wars, i knew i was going to love this book, and it definitely didn't fail me. as a huge sucker for fake dating and an avid lover of i to all the boys /i , i was so excited to read a sapphic, cute book with the trope, and this book provides it! the fake dating guide filled my covinsky-shaped hole and the way the two of them navigating their fake relationship was ADORABLE. their gradual progression into friendship also made reading them falling in love so much cuter. their relationship in general had me wanting to scream into a pillow and cry all at once, and i loved it so much. beyond the romance aspect, i saw so much of myself in both ishu and hani, but b especially /b ishu. her storyline of having to deal with parental-disappointment, the overachieving daughter, the need to be the 'perfect' child–it all hit very close to home with me, and i think i needed to hear a lot of the dialogue she experiences with nik. i also loved the general family dynamic you read about in this book and the way we get to see two different sides–it added a really cool dynamic that i enjoyed reading. overall, this book was incredible (not shocked)! i finished it in a LITERAL DAY and i KNOW i'll be coming back to it constantly. once again adiba has written a comfort book that i'm going to hold very close to my heart. b tws: /b mentions of racism, homophobia (lesbophobia & biphobia), islamophobia, gaslighting, toxic relationships, & parental issues

1. Read this book! - I actually watched the movie first, which I never do, but I didn’t yet realize there was a book. After reading the book I have to say that the movie was okay but did not do the book justice. SO much good stuff was left out! I did not want this book to end, the author has a magical way of describing the world she created. The little details made me smile so many times, I have a hard time believing it was fiction. The story itself is heartbreaking but I also think it’s necessary, don’t miss out, read this book!! I am so sad to be done, I just don’t think my next read will be able to compare....

2. Good writer / boring story - The writer is talented -- reading the book quickly immerses you into the story. The concept of telling the story through the eyes of one of the characters, Beth, gets old pretty fast. The main problem is that this story is BORING -- I actually gave up on it after pages. I couldn't take it any more, waiting for something interesting to happen while reading boring pages about selection of prom dresses, etc. The most interesting thing through page is when a mysterious dark hair student with a strange pendant (oh my!) makes a proposition to a teacher. I started skipping five and then ten pages at a time thinking that at some point the story would get exciting ... enough for me. One problem may be that my expectations were too high. I read this book right after reading Red Riding Hood and Cinderella and the Huntsman, both of which are excellent action packed stories. This one, despite the good qualities of the author, is not.

3. Hades - I absolutely love this book!!!i have read halo and incant wait for heaven to come out this summer . I could not put this book down as well as halo. I usually dont go for theese types of books but halo and hades are different. They keep you on edge and you can never stop reading it!!! I read halo and hades in week nonstop!!!! I truly love this book and highly recomend it to peple who like books about drama romance suspense and scary stories

4. Totally amazing - I was actually reading this book standing up and running around because it was so tense! Can't believe Alex. Is just a kid like me!! She is so amazing and absolutely adore her elegant writing. Just beautiful! Couldn't stop reading. Almost cried just because I had finished it! Totally worth what u pay! Just amazing!!!!

5. Boring/ ranting - A hormone driven angel? Come on?!? I've always liked the idea of a fallen angel who fell cause they fell in love; I'm sorry God, but that is not the worst reason (or bad) to fall. A naive angel who knows nothing about human emotions and human toys, I could agree that the story may be plausible. Can't stand the inconsistency in the story, is Beth an angel or a teenager? Is she young yet still an angel, supposedly good and wise and all that with certain power etc etc? Or is she just a hormonal teen girl adopted by a family of angels? What's with the whole family ability to heal but Xavier got a concussion and have to "conveniently" miss prom, while another girl in bad auto accident in front of the whole student bodies, with proof of her car in a bad shape and "supposedly" bloody from the fatal injuries she sustained, discreetly healed? Concussion vs mangled bloody body...which do you think is more noticeable? What is with bro and sis angels who just stood by watching their sister commit the forbidden? If it's forbidden and they knew about it from the beginning, why just letting it happen? Sorry but it just a contradiction, the story goes on and on about how their love is forbidden and punishable by God knows what kind of wrath, yet they could continue on like it's only a couple teens who keep sneaking out after being grounded? Well, which one is it??? I kept waiting for the story to get exciting, I though maybe in every chapter 'this is it, gonna be the end of the line or those two love birds, the wrath of heaven gonna come upon them, they're gonna get separated and they both have to find ways to be together again!". Nope, it was unexpected, but kinda fall flat. Don't think I'd buy the next book, I'd gate to find myself skipping sentences and paragraphs.

6. Favorite book! - This book is incredible and I loved every seccond of it. I read it in one week and it was over pages. For a girl who never reads, I sure did this time. This book was filled with compassion,love,and exciteing new things after the next. The bible refrence to the angel Gabriel empressed me and put my Christian mind into the book reminding me more of the standrds God has given us and one being that we are not perfect. I also felt as if I were a part of the book. I will honestly say that I was never bord when reading this book and never wanted to put it down. I cant wate to read the next book called Hades. I'm hoping that it will be as amazing as Halo and is filled with the same excitement and love.

7. Love this book!!! - I typically dont buy books on Itunes. I enjoy having the actual book. I have read Halo multiple times. To me personally this Franchise is better than Twilight!!! I have read and enjoyed the Twilight books. I have only read them once, but Halo takes the cake away from Twilight. I would recommend this Franchise to everyone. BUY IT, either Itunes or get your own copy of the book, its amazing!!!!!

8. Good read - This isn't the best book but not the worse. It's a good read if that's what you're looking for. The author is only years old so give her some props. It's better than what Stephanie Meyer did. It was a good distraction, I love the guys humor in the book. I'm a huge fan of Series and this book did it for me.

9. Good distraction - I wouldn't call this a "great" read, but it was pretty good. For a while there I had to take a break from it, because Bethany's obsession with Xavier was getting on my nerves. I think it was a little too much. Like the writer was trying to imitate the love between Bella & Edward. But instead of a vampire & a human, it's between an angel and a human. I do like the God angle, it's good for young kids to have a positive, brighter influence to read about. Instead of all theses books out there with vampires and witches. It's a cute book, definitely for a younger -teen- crowd. I don't think it's one of those books that crosses age barriers like some of the others out there. And of course like many others is keeping to the trend of making it a series. Be nice if authors could complete their stories in one book like they used to. Instead they believe their books are so incredibly good, the readers will look forward to and stay around for the sequels. Not saying this one is not, but it would be nice if not all authors were into the series thing.

10. This books utterly rocks - I felt so much closer to god when I read this book!!!! It had just the right amount of teen love and reference to god. Wow I never knew that someone could write a book like this that is so teen alluring yet very religious - they should seriously offer this book to all the teens in sunday school or just plain Christian education classes you get a really good prospective of what the religion is all about and what we should be looking out for. I literally spent hours straight reading this and I wouldn't have sent my time better. I really like the ending too because it really was a cliff hanger and I hope she writes a sequel because this book was AMAZING!!!!

11. I have fallen in love!!! - Halo is an amazing story about love,friendship, and trust. I read the whole book in days and loved every single minute I read. I really felt like I could connect with the characters and loved the Romeo and Juliet affect it had to it. Does anyone know if she has continued the series yet and if so when is the next book coming out?!

1. Yay! - When I started reading this book it was super intriguing! I loved how the author incorporated some of the Bible and religious beliefs into the book, because it added to the story and made it more relatable. Also I’m a faithful Christian and I absolutely love fictional YA romance books, so what most made this book memorable and endearing to me is the passion woven into the book and hard work that the author put into it to make this book awesome! I absolutely love the scene where Bethany was put on a stake to be tortured , but was protected from the literal flames of hades( hell) by God , because of her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. 2. Amazing - I loved this book so much, I literally put like two whole days to just reading it, I hope they make movies out of halo and hades!, and I must say, I felt that jake thorn really might've cared for Bethany in his own extremely twisted way, part of me wanted to see a future in them but hey! Xavier's the original and I guess jakes outta luck!, god better not get in the way of the wedding to much! Can't wait to see if there's a third book!

3. This book is terrible!! - Loved this book read it in three days. Its astonishing how this author is just a kid! She inspired me to write my own short stories. Yet I hate it her writing is so awesome that I lose sleep. I can't put my iPod down long enough to have a decent conversation with some one. The intensity killed me threatening to slam it into the floor. And the epic cliffhanger totally blew my mind that I cried over it. The love between her and Xavier are absolutely descriptive and made me want to believe that my " Xavier" will come xD totally worth it! I love u Alexandra Adornetto..... But yet I don't :) jk I love u....... I dislike u... Anyway u should totally get it!!!

4. Amazling well done - Its hard saying that Hades is better than Halo. I loved Halo very much. I just got Hades for my Birthday. It takes me a while to get therough a book. Iwant to make sure I catch everything the first time. It was very well done. I can't wait for Heavens to be released next year end of summer !!!!! Im defentaily going to be reading them many more time prior to Heavens comming out. BUY THIS BOOK AND HALO!!!! Its better than Twilight. I would pay money to see this on the big screen, it would make so much money!!!!!

5. Great book! - This book was very well written. It left me with chills. The love story and story of strength are inspiring. The explanation of Hades is very well done. I always knew Hades, Hell, was a dark and awful place, her description has just made it all the more real! I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. Great series. I cannot wait for the next book!

6. Good Sequel - Of course it's not as good as the first but it does have amazing parts. It pushes how far Beth and Xavier have for one another. It's not just a typical love story that every other book has. I am a religious person and I loved how they made Hades 'Hell' it gave me so much of a different view on things. I'm not saying it's an amazing book but it was definitely a good read. (:

1. I keep coming back - These books got me through some tough times in my life.. And I find myself going back and reading them just for comfort when I'm going through a hard time in my life. I love reading the Christian romance and drama and seeing how the characters handle certain situations as Christians. I started reading them in junior high and I loved them so much that my mom read them because she wanted to see why I loved them so much! I've since read the ENTIRE series twice and I'm now a senior in high school. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves to read and wants to learn more about Christian teenagers and the struggles that we face on a daily basis. Robin Jones Gunn has been gifted by the Lord and it it great to see that she is following His calling for her. :)

2. Must-read - this book is life changing. I am one of those people who do not like to read, and I absolutely love these books, they have taught me so much about love and life. 1. Oh my God. - Maybe people who are straight don’t quite understand the significance of this book. But as a bisexual teenager and full time Christian, this is my favorite thing. I had always felt that Christianity and homosexuality couldn’t coincide, and I hide myself for a long time because of that. But honestly, this book has helped me understand so much and reconsider. Please give this a read, it will explain the entire Bible in a way you never thought of before.

2. Another Classic - Where to begin? I read the Rainbow trilogy by Alex and fell in love with his writing style and ability to tug at your heart strings a few years ago. Searching for a new book to read I came across this, and quickly downloaded it. Coming from a strict southern baptist family, a lot of this story hit close to home. From questioning my sexuality, to wondering if I was going to hell for not being attracted to girls. This book should be in every teen's hands whether gay or straight. It teaches love, tolerance, acceptance, and being who you are.

3. Beautiful and important- MUST READ. - Everyone in the world should read this book. The main character's struggle to understand himself is beautifully expressed and is truly relatable to many people, in the LGBTQIA community and beyond. Filled with interesting characters, an important message and groundbreaking new interpretations of scripture, this book is a must read for anyone who has ever wanted to know themselves, and especially for those people struggling to understand their sexuality or gender identity. If I could give it more than five stars, I would.

5. yeahh soo. . - such a good book ! my boyfriend let me borrow this book from him and i just fell in love with it. it only took two days for me to read it, and the thing is, i'm not thay big of a reader. neither is my boyfriend but he recommended it to me. i wish i could just forget what i read and read it again ! like legit. right when i was finished reading i thought to myself, "what the hell's gonna happen next ? !" haha i'll give this book five stars even though it's worth like seven. : )

2. Outstanding - I was easily enthralled and ensnared into the wonderful realm of Donita K. Paul's imagination. I am not the type for books, in fact this was the first full book that I read despite all the middle school reading projects.... I was so in love with the first that I went on to read the remaining four in the series, and to this day this series is the only one I have ever chosen to complete.
