1. Left me “Bergin” for more - This is the first book in a long while that I’ve read that is both fast-paced and intriguing. I read it in three days, and that’s saying something. It’s a very cool premise, and the second book in the series is good as well. Although, it is kind of problematic ... The main character, a girl named Ruby, is kind of dumb (which I’ll get to later). Not only that, but she is also very selfish, especially when she is forced to be with her step-father. As I was getting further and further into the book, I was thinking that it was cool and different to have a slightly-mean protagonist considering most main characters have about the same personality nowadays. But no, she doesn’t really grow from her spoiled behavior. She does in the second book a little, though, so I’ll give the author credit for that. As I said before, she’s a bit stupid. After seeing that her family is dead and things clearly aren’t going to get much better, Ruby goes to the store and buys makeup and dyes her hair. I was annoyed by this, because anyone, no matter how teenager-y or angsty, would know to get themself some clean water (all that they could find, that is) and other basic survival supplies. I did like how she was kind to the dogs by bringing them along, and I have to admit she was pretty funny as a narrator. Anyway, it was a good book, and I would recommend even despite the minor flaws it has.
2020-07-052. Wow - This book is very relatable, especially now. I feel like it was too disappointing and nothing good really happened. The characters didn’t really affect the story and Ruby is not a very likable character. But, the story of the virus and what it is, is very realistic. In all I loved this book, but it has a lot of blood, so if that isn’t your thing I don’t think you should read this book.
2020-04-203. :/ - I agree with Nclow (debatable opinion). I couldn't get through the whole book because it was kind of shocking to see how the author was making Ruby (the main character) act. It was like she just had no sense of reality, she just kept making one stupid decision after another. At first I thought I must be reading this book wrong because I can't imagine anyone who would be thinking and have a mind to actually do everything she is doing in her situation, but on the other hand the book has good imagination with the killer rain and how it has a somewhat realistic background/ science to it.
2016-06-294. Debatable opinion - So, no one recommended this to me. I just saw it, read the back cover, thought it looked good and bought it. (As well as like other books that day) and honestly this book had so much WASTED potential. I'll start over. The main character of this is named Ruby. Her IQ is probably around , and that's being generous. She's an idiot. After seeing multiple people die, that you cared about and still saying, "There not dead they will come back for me" after everything that's happened you could call it false hope, but really it's just stupid. When her (spoiler) mom and brother die and she's left with her step dad, who she hates, she can't get over her problems of not having a cell phone, and not liking him, heck, who cares about liking, this guy was the only person she had left. (End of spoiler) When the rain stops, instead of going to look for survival supplies, (i.e. water that's not poisoned, food, first aid, etc) she goes to the make up store. She dyes her hair. She takes dresses, heals, purses, but no: not anything that could possibly protect her from the rain. Not even an umbrella. Later, (spoiler) while everyone's attacking them, she decides to have s just to prove that she's not a bad kisser, to the guy she's traveling with. When she should be, like, barricading the doors, praying to live. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, she's an idiot! And what I told you is only reaching the tip of the iceberg because there's so much more. I think the book had great potential if it weren't for the (no butterfly) who's POV it's in. Hopefully, book, which should be coming out May of , will be better, because the story could have been great. Instead of the idiot obsessed with her phone, and the boy from school she got to kiss right before it happened, it could have gone like this: year old girl, poisoned rain, all her family members dead during the first rain, but her dad and brother may be alive. She travels to London knowing this might be hopeless but when there's nothing else and there's a chance, you take it. She has a dangerous adventure with the people she meets, (breaking into places for supplies, abandoned cars for shelter from the rain, etc) but she gets there, she's taken to camp. With no sign of her brother. Or father. What happens next? And that was off the top of my head but seriously the problem with this story is the characters. It was completely out of luck and the people surrounding her in the beginning that she survives. I will read book when it comes out, but hopefully she improves it. I recommend reading it because the stupidity of Ruby makes this dystopian book hilarious.

1. Inspiring and funny - This is a book that is about a boy and about being yourself. It is much more than that too. Have you ever found a place where as Georgia O’keefe sai “I like who I am when I am there”? One of Paulsen’s best. Maybe his best book. I would have loved to read it at or but I had to wait for Paulsen to write it, I am now . Thanks Gary!
2021-07-132. The Island Review - The Island is a miraculously extraordinary book that will leave you hanging after every chapter. When I finished the book I was praying that Gary Paulson had a second book after this one. It is a miraculous story about a boy who finds an island at the lake by his house. He stays there to learn about his old life. I hope you will like this book.

1. A lovely thought for a young beginner - A wonderful read for someone beginning their path into Wicca, so long as they keep the fictional aspects in mind. The characters can be a bit one dimensional at times; however, I never put the books down once I started, so I guess I can’t complain. Blessed Be.

2014-06-252. A great bedtime story in digital form. - Luna Raccoon had all the right elements you'd want in a book for story time. It was a lighthearted story with adventure. The cast of entertaining and playful characters encouraged creativity, compassion, and friendship. I found the artwork charming and whimsical and very reminiscent of Frog and Toad are Friends and other similiar classics. Looking forward to the sequels.
2013-12-073. LUNA RACCOON is now a friend of my Grandsons! - A great piece of children's literature and artwork!!! The rhythm of the words captured me, teasing my brain with an enjoyable cadence. So as a Grandfather i instantly wanted my grandkids to have LUNA RACCOON as their "friend". The audio/Narration grasped the flow of the characters and story. Ray Porter's voice(s) added great nuances, enabling the reader (listener) to envision these colorful characters and their accents!!! My family is waiting for the sequel with great anticipation. I will recommend LUNA RACCOON to all!
2013-07-044. Delightful and fun! - What a wonderful story of three friends sharing an adventure! Luna Raccoon is beautifully illustrated and the narration brought the characters to life. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will recommend it highly to friends, both young and young at heart. Very much looking forward to reading more of the adventures of Luna, Atty, and Mouse!
2013-07-045. Enchanted Forest - Like walking through an enchanted forest, that's what it felt like reading this amazing children's book. The illustrations, the story and of course the additional audio from a great actor. I love that I can use this book to read to my children and/or have them read it themselves…... or have Ray Porter read it to them for me… Its an all around great book that any child will probably want to read over and over again.

1. Wonderful and clever! - Just downloaded this book today and my kids have enjoyed it very much. They loved the bold illustrations and kept on asking for me to read it over and over. My son says he likes seeing how the island is at the end, so crowded, happy and colorful. We also liked the big cheeks on the face of the wind! I highly recommend it!
