1. BEST BOOK SERIES EVER!! - I L OVE this book series, I’ve never been that interested in books like these before! I would definitely recommend these books to . Also if you get confused with the history/background of the gods or the Titans, then you should read the book called Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods. It’s by the same author and really helped me understand the last couple books. Anyways the series is AMAZING !

2. Perfect for any age - I grew up having my older sister read me these books and I have read them multiple times since. One of the best series I have ever read. I dont read very often any more but its so easy to get lost in this book and the rest of the series. I would def recommend for any young person around - because its a perfect coming of age story. BUT I am years old and I would still enjoy this as a first time read. / for sure.

1. Just read… - To the person that said that including LGBTQIA characters “ruined the series”: REPRESENTING MARGINALIZED IDENTITIES IS NOT PC INDOCTRINATION!!! This is a great book, and RR is a great author. I especially love how he includes lots of representation of marginalized identities. As an LGBTQIA individual, this makes me feel seen and included in the fantasy genre, which has painfully little representation. Sure, he may be doing it sort of heavy-handedly, but at least he’s trying, which is more than most authors are doing.

2. A Truly Amazing Book - This book is full of adventure and will make you feel like you might have powers too. Rick Riordan must have put so much time into making this and that’s evident because he has made all these references and words that make since with the book. Like characters in the book might say something like, “Holy Hera!” If they’re surprised. I think that is so cool, and I could never do that in any of the papers my mom makes my write for homeschool. I love the slang, but that’s not all, there is so much possibility in this book and so little flaws. (And I also love the way he does the chapters with the name of the chapter being the character’s name in the book, in their perspective). I just want to say thank you to Rick Riordan for giving us something to read/ listen to when we’re bored.

3. NICO EVER - This book was literally the goat. Everything that happens keeps you on the edge of your seat. I love all of Ricks books but this one was different. Nico shines in this book he is my favorite character and I love him. On the other hand Percy and Annabeth are the best in this book. This book gave meaning to the days of my life that it took to read it. Thank you everyone who helped make this!

4. “A True Greek Odyssey….” - Since starting the Percy Jackson series, I have found myself enjoying each new installment more than the last but Rick Riordain’s “House of Hades” might be his greatest book ever. He perfectly blends every character together and lets them shine, making the prophecy of the seven even more apparent and larger then life. Since the ending of “Mark of Athen” I have been waiting desperately to find out what happens to Percy and Annabeth, not only does this book answer that question but it also sends the other remaining heroes on their own personalized quest that help them grow before their final encounter with the doors of death. While the beginning was a little slow, the book quickly picks up speed and only stops when the time is right.

5. My favorite of my favorite series - This is my favorite book by Rick Riordan, which is saying a lot because the Percy Jackson and hero’s of Olympus series are my favorites of all time. But House of Hades shows everything in a new light. While before Percy and Annabeth’s relationship had been fun to read now it’s much more than that. The bond created when two people share near death experiences is shown perfectly by Riordan and Percy and Annabeth aren’t the only interesting things in this book. His other Demigod characters have just as much crazy dramatic life or death situations plaguing them. I like Frank and Hazel, Jason and Piper have a strange background with his amnesia and all, and Leo and Calypso I think are just there for laughs, and it works. Honestly I almost never read the series for fear it would be about pagan gods and weird Greek rituals, but it’s nothing close to that. It’s funny and tense and full of can’t put it down cliffhangers (I’m looking at you Mark Of Athena!) I can honestly say this book touched me and was one of those rare books you remember for the rest of your life. And the Percebeth moments made you want to laugh and cry and give them a hug because after all they’ve been through, THIS?? why does Rick torture them so? Hopefully Tower of Nero will reveal that they finally get a break! Anyone who can read, MUST read this book.

6. Darkishly Amazing! ( I don’t know if that’s a word or not ). - Right now it’s the quarantine and I don’t really have anything to do except read. I was reading a stupid trilogy called Inkheart and it was freakishly boring. But then I remembered that I got The Trials Of Apollo! Wait... then I also remembered that as I was reading the first book, first; it wasn’t nearly as good as Percy Jackson, and second; a good part of the book I couldn’t read without reading The Heroes Of Olympus! I got the series from amazon and I zipped through all the books until The House Of Hades, which I’m still reading. Also I AM really mad about that toooo big cliffhanger in the Mark Of Athena... anyway I’m-still in the middle of the book but it’s too good not to review it right now! I think that all of Rick Riordan’s books all have these little excruciatingly exiting short chases and monster battles, with multiple of these in each book with each story revolving around one of the demigods. In this book, The House Of Hades, he masters it the most... I don’t like to be one of those reviewers who spoil every sing,e big of the book so I’ll leave it there for now. The only bad thing I have to say about the book, is that I think Rick did a little bit better job on Mark Of Athena, but this book still masters the book satisfaction award! Also my favorite demigod is by far Percy Jackson, and one of my favorite goofy characters is Bob the titan, ( his real name being Iaepites ). Anyway I hope you enjoy this book a ton!

7. Okay. - I love Percy Jackson and Annabeth and Camp Half-Blood. I first read "The Lightning Thief" two years ago and fell in love with the Percy Jackson series. SO GOOD. This second series is good, but not nearly AS good. In the Percy Jackson series I felt the characters were on point, perfect, so real. It was descriptive and was so creative in the way it portrayed ANCIENT Greek mythology in a modern day light. The main character was witty and sarcastic and awesome. Annabeth is awesome, and so is Grover and Chiron and Rachel and all of them I'm glad my two favorites weren't forgotten in this series, because those five books were GREAT but seemed so short. I adore Percabeth. My thoughts on the new series:
I am not as much of a fan of the rd person view as the st person view. Somehow it makes the characters seem more distant and less real when it used to be st person. Also, Percy and Annabeth remain my favorites. I think Frank and Hazel are cool, and Leo is funny. Piper and Jason....I don't know. I just feel like their relationship was too quick, too instant. Like, one day Jason wakes up on the bus and meets Piper. A month later they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Their relationship is just TOO perfect. Before Percabeth got to be Percabeth, Percy and Annabeth were friends for about years and then fought a lot (Annabeth was jealous that Percy almost fell for another girl) before they finally got together. It was so real how they came together. With Piper and Jason, less so. Also, Leo and Calypso. What? I mean, I guess Leo needed somebody but they were even worse. Less than a week and Calypso kisses him? In Percy Jackson, the obstacles were well-crafted and the solutions were believable and made sense. In this book, the situations they land in are always near-impossible. It's like "there's a slight chance this MIGHT work" and then it always works. They just seem lazy, like plot devices. For example, Piper facing Khione. She uses her charmspeak to activate a metal dragon. How? Why? I have no idea, but it was really the only thing she had so Rick "made it work". Even with Percy and Annabeth in Tartarus (there was SO much Percabeth there) when Percy controlled the liquid poison to fight the misery goddess, how? Just because they were in Tartarus was the answer. So yeah.

8. Oh my gods! - So everyone is saying, “Yeah, Nico’s gay.” And I’m like, “What the Hades?” It’s so weird! And he likes Percy? (I need a moment.) And there’s a cliffhanger in this book? (Sorry, guys. I can’t stand those.) cliffhangerhater. But one TEENSY little complaint, Rick. Jiper is uncool. I hate it. It seems forced, and Jason acts cool, and he WAS cool in The Lost Hero, but I know he’s pretty much nothing without his powers. I mean, he has that Imperial gold sword, but I swear he never uses it! Percy, on the other hand, is pretty good with his powers, but he can also sword fight with Riptide. Same thing for Piper. Without her charm speak, she’s like, “Uh, huh! Totally got this, you giant! I’m gonna kill you with love!” Now, I’ve got nothing against Aphrodite or her children, but Piper’s pretty helpless without her charm speak. But in the end it was pretty good.

9. The house of hades - Ever since I started reading Rick Riordan books I loved it right away. But when I started reading “ The mark of Athena “ I was like So good so far! And then at the end of the book it was so good I almost started getting all you know like out of control! And then I search on google to see what next book about “ The mark Athena “ to read but after! And so I found “ The house of Hades “ I was like yeah let me go and try to find this book! I’m gonna find a way to read this! I don’t care what anyone says I’m reading this book!!!!

10. Grate! - This book is so entertaining! There are many plot twists and monsters that never let you put the book down. I love how Riordan introduces homosexuality in one of the characters; it helps introduce kids to the LGBTQ community. Also, Leo falling in love is the best thing yet! All in all I totally suggest this book for all readers.

1. LOVE LOVE LOVE - Such a good book. Beginning to end. Beautiful. Tyrant’s Tomb was such a beautiful book. I have so many words but also I’m speechless. It was amazing. There were some highs and some lows. I truly am happy that I finished this book at the pace I did. I had so many moments where I felt like I shouldn’t have laughed but I did. I am so happy that I read this book and I loved it so much. I’m slightly worried for Tower of Nero but here we go!

2. I would rate this stars, great book! - I LOVE this series, I’ve read Harry Potter, lord of the rings, and other popular book series but these are my favorite. Never stop writing Rick! (Or else I will die) The one problem I have is that I hate how you had to kill off Jason and Frank. I understand that it had come to the point where a character had to go, but we’ve had some of these characters for so long and they have (very unrealistically) survived through all these battles and stuff in the books, plus they’re only young adults, so I don’t see why you had to let them die we’ve had them for so long i didn’t expect you to kill any of them off. But, anyways, GR books! I like how you add a lot of humor, and pretty much love how the books go. If you are reading this review, thx, and don’t stop writing books Rick!

3. RIORDAN’S BEST BOOK YET!!! - I’ve said it multiple times and I will continue to say it: Apollo is Rick Riordan’s best protagonist EVER. This book... is his best work yet. I spent the last quarter of this book:
a) crying
b) laughing hysterically
c) snorting while laughing and crying
And other variations of the above. This book shook me to my core, it was absolutely phenomenal, heart wrenching, jaw dropping, tear inducing and just an overall masterpiece. I am now anxiously awaiting the sequel and I will be sad to see this series end. Bring on the finale, Rick. Bring. It. On.

4. Oh my gods - This is the perfect ToA book. It isn’t as fast paced as the first book, not as slow as the second book, and not as dark as the third. It takes all the best element of Rick Riordan’s writing and amplifies it. I only have one problem: Reyna worked on Circe’s island, but in this book Rick accidentally wrote that she worked on Calypso’s island, which just makes no sense. Whatever, it’s a great book, please read it.
2019-10-01
5. RickNation - I wish they would do a huge end to Rick’s mythology books by having a huge series in which Greece Rome the norce and Egypt work together to defeat chaos. The reason being each mythology has some version of chaos... more powerful than anything ever before. A massive quest with the seven halfbloods plus Reyna and Nico along with the Kane’s an all of there trainees and finally Valhalla itself. But overall the book was absolutely incredible with twists and turns at every page. Stop reading if you don’t want spoilers here. My favorite part of the book was when Diana showed up out of no where and the incorporation of a photenic god which might be some foreshadowing for a later book...

6. New idea!! - I honestly think that Rick is going to put all the series together- Roman Greek Norse Egyptian A whole new series!!!!
In the the last Kane books Sadie is talking to her mother, her mother, Ruby, says that they need to be prepared for something big and way harder! I hope I’m right cause this would be awesome for a book!

7. I can’t wait! - I love your books Rick you made me cry wen Jason died plz let that just be an allusion. In my class Percy Jackson has became a must read on everyone’s book lists! We all love the books so much that are teacher bought all of the books in the Percy Jackson series and in the Hero’s of Olympus series! I can’t wait till this comes out!

1. SO AWESOME!!! - I do recommend reading to all those who are interested in Greek or Roman mythology, seriously this book is great!!! Also im very excited to see that SolAngelo is coming together(obsessed with that ship!)!Uhm a complaint i have is that i feel that Gaea should’ve been MUCH harder to beat. I was soo sad when Leo died! Im not gonna say much more about his death, but i hope, for those who’ve read the Heroes of Olympus series, you enjoyed it! Goodbye now ^^

2. It was amazing how you create amazing stories of this type. - This was one of the best books I have ever read that includes both types of mythology Roman and Greeks, so this might more be a private comment to the amazing author, even this book includes every thing that to end the story expect even I would love for you the author to well, have a story or book about Annabeth Chase and Perseus Jackson. And well probably the others like Piper Mclean and Jason Grace. which concludes that thought about what happened to the cutest couple of Annabeth Chase and Perseus Jackson about college and well what ever happened after. Also as for Piper Mclean and Jason Grace what happened after because these type of stories about after heroes and heroines after company. And another book of Frank Zhang and Hazel. That concludes with maybe an other book about what happened with Nico Di Angelo. If you would take this to consideration and just maybe do it for me and my friends, it would be an honor to have these books published and released for this insane cliff hanger that I would love to be complete.

3. Please read - Many people said this one was a let down and was terrible compared to house of hades. They are wrong it wasn’t better than house of hades but it was VERY good. I wish we could have had Percys perspective one last time but getting to have Nico and Reyna point of view was amazing. Reyna and Nico are my favorite characters after this book( after Percy). Only thing that made me a little upset was how Frank and Hazel dont really get any attention in this book. Still, I adore these books and hope you choose to read them!

4. Great- but the characters - I really enjoyed the book- from the plot to the action to (most) ships.
However, the characters seemed to be underdeveloped. For instance, take Annabeth. She was a riveting protagonist in the first series, with her (spoiler!) fatal flaw of hubris a huge part of how she grows. However, in the next series and Blood of Olympus, she seemingly (spoilers from here until the end of the paragraph) lacks flaws. I suppose her lack of powers (excluding her brain) and magical objects might be considered a flaw, but this only leads to her missing them slightly, and doesn’t cause any problems especially in Blood of Olympus. Her hubris could have been reintroduced, or she could have gotten another flaw (that makes sense) instead. Next, Percy. He seemed like a smaller character than the other along with Annabeth in the ending of Blood of Olympus. He didn’t directly help or be present in the ending, which was disappointing. He has to internally go against his fatal flaw of unwavering loyalty (when letting Leo, Jason and Piper fight Gaea) but this goes unnoticed and doesn’t come up. Two amazing, three dimensional characters seem to have somewhat gone to waste during the ending. Seeing the characters I followed and rooted for the most in the first series become flat characters wasn’t fun, though the rest of the book was great.
2021-04-13
5. Eh book spoilers - Truly dissatisfied and disappointed. I totally agree with Doubletap over there. This book was like, what happened to all of the build up, the rising action of all of these books? All this build up, then, nope! This book should’ve been an epic climax. But no! It was boring and dull, I really didn’t like how only OF demigods were battling Gaea. of ! Seriously?! You spend all this time making these characters all powerful? It’s a waste of talent. To much teenage drama/romance. Jason and Piper: “We suddenly love each other and have know each other for a month!” What happened there? Two stars, only for Nico and Reyna. Annabeth and Percy are suddenly the weakest couple in the group of seven! They where the most experienced demigods in the whole ship, but then they are the weakest always need saving? I really didn’t like Physians cure, because if made Annabeth a wimp, and with Jason and Percy in the storm with Polybotes and that other sea god? That’s just wrong. I am very disappointed. Rick Roirdan could’ve done SO MUCH MORE!
2021-01-29
6. (Sigh) - HoO, in my opinion, was not as good as Percy Jackson in the first place. It just focuses way too much on teenage romance, and a lot of the ships are underdeveloped and very rushed anyway. You are welcome to disagree, of course, but Jiper, Frazel, and Caleo-the main ships of the series-developed over a few weeks at most. Besides, these kids are only like , so why do they ALL need a significant other? At least Percabeth knew and grew to trust each other over years. On to the other problems in this book. While I was perfectly fine with Rick Riordan saying, "Okay, well, Percy and Annabeth had their chance, time for Piper, Jason, and Leo to step up and save the day!" The way they defeated Gaea made so little sense and was very anticlimactic. I won't spoil it, but she took about pages to be defeated, despite being built up as this HUGE villian for whole books. Rick basically gave Piper abilities she should not have had and made two of the most powerful demigods, Percy and Annabeth, pretty much helpless the whole book, always needing to be saved. I don't care that the didn't get a POV—I LOVE Nico and Reyna, and being treated to their points of view, their separate problems and personalities, was my favorite part of the book. However, why replace two main demigods (Percabeth again) with two demigods who are, er, underdeveloped (Jason and Piper). Or, why not include Frank and Hazel? We have seen how powerful Hazel can be when she puts her mind to it—yet she has only gotten the spotlight once or twice. But suddenly Piper can use her charmspeak for everything and everyone, and we can just accept that?

7. Fan Fiction (Olympian’s Curse Book one: Eros’s Arrow) - (This chapter includes: The Will Solace x Nick di Angelo ship, possible bad grammar, and many ideas in a small space. Read at your own risk.) CHAPTER Nico Nico di Angelo stood at the edge of a gash in the ground, remembering the moment when it had appeared. Percy Jackson had returned from a quest with everyone who had gone on it except some Hunter of Artemis named Zoë Nightshade, and his sister. Percy had said that Bianca had died. He took out a small figurine of Hades, from a game he used to like called Mytho Magic. (or something like that.) Percy had handed to him, saying that his sister has wanted him to have it. He has asked where she was. Percy had grimaced, and said that she had given her life for them. He said he had tried to talk her out of it, and that it was her choice. Nico had yelled at him “You promised to protect her!” He had called Percy a liar. Almost immediately after that, three skeleton warriors had come stumbling out of the dark, and Percy had tried to get Nico to run. He hadn’t run. He had controlled them, causing the earth to swallow them whole. This crevasse was what was left of that incident. No matter how many times Nico had tried to shake this away, He knew he couldn’t have let the skeletons harm Percy, who had been his old crush. A loud voice a way behind him snapped him out of his (Was it a flashback? Or just a memory?) “Where did he go though?” The voice was anxious, worried. “If I knew I would tell you, Will.” That voice...that voice was Percy’s. “Do you think he shadow travelled again? It could still kill him!” said Will Solace, a son of Apollo. “Will, I said I don’t know.” Replied Percy, calmly. “He probably just wanted a break. Big parties aren’t his thing. And I have to go. Annabeth wants to talk to me about something.” Will was grumbling audibly. A moment after that, there were running footsteps, coming closer. ‘Will probably spotted me..’ Nico had a moment to think, before Will said “Why did you disappear? I thought you had shadow travelled, for a moment. But surely, you wouldn’t be that stupid. It really could kill you.” (End of preview see you next time! -ARandomDragonArtist)

I don’t want ANY one to die oh-oops Octavian can go die in Tartarus for all I care I hate him, but I’m about to die of excitement to see if Leo and calypso work out! These books are so good I legit make a fan-fic in my brain as i read making my own peeps and stuff, I LOVE Rick’s books SO much even my brain cant comprehend!!

9. Someone - I love Percy Jackson sooooooo much that I finished the first series and then I started this series and now I’m reading this book and so far it’s doing really well I love it so I really think everyone who likes Greek mythology (for the first series) and Roman mythology (for the second series). Oh and I’m only a th grader and I started in third grade.

10. Ending didn’t really cut it (spoiler alert) - These books are amazing, don’t get me wrong. I love that we get a Nico POV. I just feel like Gaea’s death was so anticlimactic and short that it didn’t make much sense. Supposedly she’s worse than Kronos, but Kronos and his army took around demigods to defeat, whilst Gaea and her army took around . Really, Rick?

1. Great Story - Things are going really crazy here! Evie is on her own. Jack seems to be dead, and she is swept away from Arik by a monster wave courtesy of Circe. I liked seeing her on her own a little. She was able to really explore her capabilities and test the limits of not just her power, but of what she was willing to do with it. In Day Zero, the novella sharing the beginnings of the Arcana, we meet the rest of the deck, and they begin to make their appearance here. They are a twisted lot, some more than others, and some just doing whatever it takes to stay alive. As Evie encounters each one, the decisions she's forced to make on her own have major consequences for everyone. There are new enemies, new friends, and some that I'm just not quite sure of yet. The love triangle style of romance really comes to a head here after Richter washes Jack away in a sea of lava. Evie no longer has to choose, but that doesn't seem right to her. She wants what she can't have, and she wants what's still around to have. She want's her past, and she wants her present. Another big decision Evie will have to make on her own. There's a lot of growth and development in the Arcana in this book. They are all forced to look at their lives and their plans for the future, adapting as things change faster than they can really keep up. I'm interested to see what the Fool has up his sleeve, and how it will change the game in the next book - which is supposed to be coming pretty soon!

2. Glorious - AGAIN - Here's my only problem with this series: now I have to wait almost another year for the next book. I was just too greedy; I gulped down "Arcana Rising" too quickly. No self-discipline. Kresley Cole simply can't write quickly enough for me! So get crackin', Kresley - I got me an envie for the next installment!
2016-08-16
3. Painful waiting - I love to read Kresley Cole and cannot remember being so giddy to read a book as Arcana Rising in a series. This is a tremendous book with great character development but slow movement of the plot line.
If you despise cliffhangers, reading this series is bound to bring you nothing but agony.
Cole knows how to hook a reader.

1. Amazing book - This book had me feeling all the feels. It was maybe my favorite standalone book ever. The writing was done beautifully and the food descriptions made me wish I could eat some of Cath’s baking. SPOILERS The idea of Catherine (Queen of hearts) being just a sweet teenage girl with dreams of owning a bakery with her best friend just made me love her and hope against reason that Marissa Meyer would be like “Oh twist ending this isn’t actually the queen of hearts story!” Sadly she decided no such thing. Anyways, I found that the way she included you children’s poems was so creative! Like Peter Peter’s role in the book was crazy. Jest and Cath were such a cute couple and I was so sad when he died. I mean I saw it coming, but STILL. I was literally yelling at the book/Cath not to go through that door, “NO CATH! WHO CARES ABOUT MARY ANN. DON’T DO IT!” Sadly she did it anyways and Jest being in love with her followed suit. Loyal till the last. I loved Raven and Cath’s friendship at the end. I know it’s probably weird that I like that two people bonded through a mutual desire to get revenge on someone by beheading them, but hey, it was awesome. The book ended with Cath very mad (in both the angry and crazy sense). I wanted her to murder Peter Peter because honestly I found myself wanting revenge as well. Overall a beautifully written book with tons of detail. Begins in hope and light and ends in tragedy. Also I loved the whole thing with us finding out why she hates white roses! Okay I’m done now SPOILERS OVER Thanks for reading! Also I highly recommend this book!

2. Loved it ! - This book is a must if you like the story of Alice in wonderland, the worlds of the two are so greatly written alike it seems like there by the same person. Though when it started I would have never been able to guess the ending it’s a whole experience, that’s just amazing all around!

3. Heartbreakingly Beautiful - WARNING!!! THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! Skip to the bottom for my recommendation! I absolutely love this book. It was fun engaging and creative, yet still so depressingly sad at the end. Jest was my favorite character, and then he dies, causing my very soul to shatter. He was friggin beheaded, and it wasn’t until the end of the book when Peter was brought into the court and she says “Off with his head,” that I’m like “OHHHHHH! THAT is why the Queen of Hearts is so decapitate-happy!” I think the part that I felt the most connected emotionally with Cath was right before her wedding, and her family comes to say goodbye to her and she’s just so cold to them. Normally, I’d hate a character for acting like this, but I honestly felt the exact same way. I hated Mary Ann. I hated Cath’s parents. I hated the silly king. I just felt so connected to Cath that it broke my heart and tugged at my heartstrings, and I absolutely wanted vengeance for Jest, right along with Raven and Cath. This book has a dark side to it, but it is still so wonderfully executed and deliciously refreshing. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

4. HEARTLESS kinda spoilers not really - okay this book isn’t a book with an happy ending but still it is so good. It is beautifully written and is a magical and beautiful world. I love all of the Alice and wonderland elements. Also jest is so smexy. It has a good twist and story on the queen of hearts story. I would definitely recommend and it is a great stand alone book

5. Amazing:) - This is quite possibly my favorite book. I love the characters and all of the plot twists. Seriously an incredible book that I can not recommend enough! I have been seeing a lot of bad reviews because people think the book is too depressing, but I think the sadness in the book honestly just makes it better. Be warned though, this is a very sad book but definitely worth a read!

6. Plot was Disappointing and Frustrating - Unfortunately, its been a year since I’ve read the book and my memories of it are quite hazy, but I remember my frustrations with it for the most part. Having read, and loved, Meyer’s ‘Lunar Chronicles series, I am sad to say this book really disappointed me. ‘Heartless’ is a book centered around the love between two characters and how tragedy and loss within the relationship has affected the main character. That is to say, readers should be able to relate to the characters and what they are feeling, and should be able to “ship” the romance. Without this key component, it renders the book frustrating and difficult to believe. Unfortunately for me, I experienced this very issue. As a reader who was able to empathize with and “ship” every relationship within ‘The Lunar Chronicles,’ including more complex and unhappy relationships like the one between Levana and Hayle, I am frustrated to say I experienced no such emotion when reading the “love story” of Catherine and Jest. From what I can recall, the romance felt rushed, and the author was writing as though emotions and connections had been established that were not yet established. This means that the entire time I read the book, I was confused and frustrated as to why I as a reader, and Catherine as a character, were meant to care about anything happening between her and Jest. Hopefully this expresses my frustrations properly. As a result of having no emotional connection to the romance or faith in its legitimacy, the plot twists in the book as well as the losses, challenges and compromises, became frustrating and constant reminders that the characters were stupid and annoying rather than heartbroken and in love. I loved the Lunar Chronicles, and I love Renegades, and I am really sorry to say that this book was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had when reading or otherwise following a story. (I had to read it all for a school project so I couldn’t just stop because I wasn’t enjoying it)

7. Heartbreaking - I loved Heartless. Marissa Meyer has done it again. I love every book of hers. But truly this was the saddest. I will not spoil it but my favorite character will always be in my memory. I even wished he was real but yet he is not. Anyways my feeling for the Queen of Hearts has changed. This book was heartbreaking. So after you read it you might never be the same again.

8. NOT A HAPPY ENDING - Okay, I picked up the book at the store, and was like 'Oh, this looks cool.' I got through most of the story before realizing this was about the QUEEN OF HEARTS!!! It's very sad, so make sure you don't mistake this for a happy book about rainbows and true love. THIS BOOK DOES NOT BELIEVE IN FAIRY TALE ENDINGS.

9. I getting bad vibes from this book... - Not like, the book is gonna be terrible but like, something’s gonna happen. Something not good. And trust me, I haven’t read any of the reviews bc most of y’all like to SPOIL THINGS. But yea idk it’s just, somethings gonna happen. It’s logic too, bc apparently this is a story abt how the Queen of Hearts is all: “OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!”. Ya know? So yea I’m reading this book with caution. I have had a few experiences with unhappy endings. And also I put five stars bc I’m halfway through the book and it’s interesting enough. So let’s hope it stays that way :)

10. Heartbreaking!!! - I loved and at the same time hated it!! Why did you have to go in the pumpkin patch Maryann?! Why did you have to go through the door Cath?! Why did you have to DIE JEST??!!!! It’s too bad there can’t be a sequel with a happier side. But other than that the book was great even though I’m gonna be dead inside the next few days. But hey that’s how some stuff works. Go Marrisa Meyer!!

11. The Sisters Should Take My Heart Too! - When I read the book for the first time, looking at the first words, I expected something light hearted and intense. As I read I noticed small quirks like how Hatta loved Jest too! The ending killed me though. Meyer surely knows how to make someone feel for her characters. They killed off my FAVORITE CHARACTER! Be warned you may not be the same for days after you read this! I % recommend for anyone looking for an origin story from the notorious Queen of Hearts

1. Really good - I love Beauty and the Beast so when I saw this book I had to have it. It was really good and overall an amazing book. The plot was interesting and the characters were well written. The only things that bothered me were the authors use of “…” so many times when it was unnecessary. But other than that it was great it’s a long book and I finished it in under days. It’s interesting and great for people who love Disney but want a more mature book. After reading it I want to go read the rest of the series!

1. A natural twist - This is a fulfilling and natural twist that feels like the continuation the movie deserved. A pleasure for every fan of fantasy and Greek myths everywhere, giving Meg the depth and the spotlight she deserves. /.
Additionally, watching Zeus act like Zeus from the myths is especially satisfying.

1. Overall great world building - As a new to me author, I greatly enjoyed the book overall. As the first book in the series, the author did a wonderful job setting up the world. But it did kind of lag and didn’t seem like much happened over the passing of time. Nothing significant at least. Rose and Neeve did bond over that time but that’s pretty much it. Hints of danger were made but nothing came of it until basically the end. With that being said, the main character Rose was incessantly annoying. She whined and complained about EVERYTHING. If she wasn’t complaining, she was throwing hissy fits because her stepsister was better adept at things than her or got more attention than she did. Her petulant attitude got very tiresome. I liked Neeve, Thorne, and even Kian. I loved the journey through the Darkwood with all its mystical creatures even the hobnies. I wish more time was spent within the trees learning it’s dark secrets. I’ve heard the series gets better as it goes on so I’m hopeful for the next one.

1. Very beautiful but now what I was expectinf - I couldn’t say what I was expecting but it wasn’t this and though I still enjoyed it immensely there was still a twinge of disappointment on the back of my tongue. It was a lot of small pieces of Cardans story that make him a very well developed whole being.
2021-01-03
2. Cute - Ugh, I loved this so much especially the cuddling between Cardan and Jude. I positively swooned and fell over with how FREAKING ADORABLE THAT WAS. I really wished there was more though. It was super short and I read the whole thing in less than an hour. It was satisfying regardless but I’m so upset that how it seems set it stone that Jude is mortal. I don’t want her to die before Cardan. Or get old. Makes me sad
2020-12-01
3. Good I guess, not really what I was expecting though. - Good but definitely very different from the series. I just kinda got my hopes up considering i loved the cruel prince series and I was extremely excited for this book but I was a little disappointed because it was kind of boring certain times I just which she added more from his perspective when Cardan started falling for Jude.
2020-11-26
4. Everything Midnight Sun wasn’t! - I was so excited when Holly Black first mentioned this addition to the Folk of the Air series way back when. At first I thought it would be just a point of view from Carden on either the future as Jude as his Queen. Or a point of view from Carden retelling the story we already know with his special side of things. What I was NOT expecting was this beautiful, extravagant, alluring piece of work. Nor was I expecting the AMAZING illustrations from Rovina Cai! Throughout the book we get a bit of everything. Which includes things about Carden’s past, his feelings during the trilogy (and a bit about what made him do things during it), as well as a glimpse into their “present” in the series. Holly Black does not mess up the interchanging of these three sides in anyway in my opinion. She does it so beautifully and seamlessly that you can hardly notice. With the gorgeous illustrations as a cherry on top to this book, How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories is everything Midnight Sun wasn’t for me.

1. The best series I have ever read - I have read books in the last months and I can now say, without a doubt, that this was the one that took the crown (literally). I will never ever ever get over this story and I will never stop thinking about it. I loved all of the different romances and how it was so easy to fall in love with the characters. Absolutely remarkable.
2021-03-03
2. Breathtaking Series/Book - When I tell you I have never been more emotionally attached to a book series, I mean it. When the characters cried, I cried. When they were happy, I laughed with relief. I felt as though I was part of the story and I have NEVER felt that way with ANY other books. If you are looking for a book to cry to, to laugh to, characters to swoon over, this is the one! There is romance, action, suspense, and obstacles the characters must overcome! You can read my continuing list of likes and dislikes but SPOILER ALERTS Likes: . Everyone ends up with their match: They have these amazing fairytale, fantasy romances and I was obsessed with that string of the story. Whether it was Throne and Cress or Cinder and Kai or Scarlet and Wolf or Winter and Jacin, everything fell into place and the pieces all connected. . Overall end result: The book ended almost as I had planned. Romances continuing, everyone alive, Cinder as queen. There were some scares, but everything turned out.
. Seamless way of switching POV’s: In many books where they switch the POV each chapter, I have a hard time following exactly which person I am reading about. Marissa Meyers...hats off to you. Every chapter I knew EXACTLY who you were talking about. Amazing. . Emotionally attached? Yep.: I don’t know how to explain it. I was one with the characters in this book. I loved the characters as the people in the books did, I cried when the characters felt pain, I was nervous to turn the page when something was happening that caused uncertainty and overall, I could not be happier. . After I was done: This is kind of a bittersweet moment. After I was done with the book series and I turned the page to the “acknowledgments” I was heart broken. It was all over and I felt empty. I loved the way it ended but I wish it never had to end at all. It was making me yearn for more and I as I am writing this review, I still wish I could start the series all over again, for the first time. Dislikes:
. Cinders “death”: I was a little confused after reading where Levane “killed” Cinder because being the main character from Book she deserved a better death than that. I sat there for a solid seconds trying to process whether that just happened and I had to read it over. I could kind of tell by how quick the chapter ended and how unclimactic her death was that it wasn’t actually a death at all, but overall I am just happy she was alive. . I wish we got a more in-depth look into the characters lives after they were all happy in their romances. I wanted to see Throne and Cress’s life on the Rampion. I wanted to see if Winter got the Lunar Device and it “fixed” her. I WANTED TO SEE IF KAI AND CINDER GOT MARRIED FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I heard there was another book so maybe that has more depth into their lives but overall, still happy with the ending. Closing: Overall...best series ever. This is a MUST read. If you are reading this. You will NOT be disappointed. PLEASE READ. Thank you: Thank you Marissa Meyers for allowing me to have this expierence with this book series. I, honestly, cannot thank you enough. Part of me still can’t believe this whole plot didn’t actually happen. You are an amazing writer and I am in love with this series:) There was magic in these books, and you cannot convince be otherwise!

3. NOOO it cannot end. I love it. why. - happy tears Why you do this Marissa. I love you but this is craziness. I need more of this universe!
Kai and Cinder and Cress and Thorne and Wolf and Scarlet and Iko and Jacin and Winter and GAH. IT’S TO PERFECT!!! I need more content. Okay, okay. This is supposed to be a review darnit. Perfection. That is all. Read this book.

4. - Everyone’s saying that there disappointed that’s there’s only pages in the last book but guys there’s pages. Just letting ya know. Also the lunar chronicles is the bast series I have ever read. Better than Harry Potter . I’m sorry but it’s the truth. I haven’t finished winter yet but I’m super close. Now I just have to read stars above and Fairest.
2019-02-13
5. Predictable (I really wish it wasn’t) - SPOILERS AHEAD!
This was a sad close to a great series. I wish the author found a different way to close the book other than the ultimate and super predictable final showdown between Levana and Cinder. Perhaps instead of a giant rebellion they could have snuck into the castle and, I don’t know! Poisoned her! Assasinated her! Turn her army and guards against her! Ugggh! The ending felt boring and as if the author was just so ready to be finally done with the series.

6. Not quite finished - I'm not quite finished with this book yet but I love it! Winter is so awesome! And I can't wait till Iko meets Kinney,(I agree with Shopgirl) I heard they hate each other; although in Stars Above they flirt. This is an awesome series and I'm going to be so sad when I finish this book.
2017-06-24
7. Winter is crazy - I really liked this book, winter's character is crazy but the book kept my interest and was a lot of fun. There was a lot of build up and intense moments that made you feel like the book would end soon but you still had a couple hundred pages left so you weren't sure how it would end up. The only negative thing for me was that I was still looking for the fairytale ending in the sense that I wished I knew more about where the characters were at and what they were doing beyond the ending of the book-BUT if you read stars above, I feel you get that extra info to fulfill that.
2017-02-17
8. It's the end... - As my title said, The Lunar chronicles might be coming to an end (unless she writes another novel or novella). Winter has pages, so if it's a long book for you, don't read it. I would suggest this book as a minimum age of . It is a little bit (well, a lot), gruesome for some kids under . I am and, for a kid, you have to love much of action. This book surely does.

9. THE BEST ENDING EVER!!!!!!!! - This book series is fantastic! I love the story and the characters. I would seriously tell this version of the fairytales to my future kids than the original stories. This book series has also the best ending and that's hard to do. So, if you haven't read this. What are you doing with your life!?!
2016-07-28
10. Best one yet - This is the best book in the series! The fight scenes are amazing, and so are the charactors. They all make logical disions based on their personality, it's not a bunch of dumb teenagers running around defeating an alian empire, it's timeless charactors that do what they think is right, and that makes for an amazing finale to the lunar chronicals series! A must read for everyone!!

11. Shame on you if you haven't read these books yet. - This is incredibly amazing. You will LOVE the ending and want more (there is more so YAY!)
For years after reading this, you will repeat quotes from this book even if they don't match the situation. People might think you are crazy for muttering the words, "Stay with me princess..." There are beautiful, comforting quotes in there. Some parts might make you pass out from all the feels. (I saw stars. No joke.) Sooooooo intense and gory in places. Such a satisfying end. You have got to read this and is worth WAYYYYYYY more than those measly dollars or whatever. This is Life, people. LIFE. Some people are scared to read this book because of nightmares and stuff but, once you finish it, daydreams that make you smile.... The ending is happy. Don't listen to the people who say it is disappointing. Trust me. You will love it. Read. Even those sci-fi haters out there reading this super long review. Read it. Trust me. "Say it now...."

1. Beautiful - This book is beautiful and that really is the least of it. I shall share it with every by-passer and interlocutor that happens to share the same love of reading as I do. It has taught me much and in it are many valuable lessons. Truly I say to you that his book will be held in my heart with fervor and admiration. I must say that the way the author articulated her words made way for immaculate imagery. You simply must read it.

2. A Gorgeous Fantasy With an Underwhelming Young Romance - “This is a tale of bravery and sacrifice, a retelling of the Korean folktale “The Tale of Shim Cheong.” Believing they’re cursed by the Sea God who once protected them, Mina’s village annually chooses a bride and throws her into the sea as a sacrifice for peace. Still, floods and wars continue to ravage the land with no end in sight. Shim Cheong is the latest choice, her unmatched beauty thought to be a sign of the “true bride” and impending peace. Her sweetheart Joon risks punishment by death to ride in the boat, joined at the last minute by his younger sister Mina who wants to protect him. Knowing how much the young couple loves one another, Mina bravely throws herself into the sea where she’s carried to the Spirit Realm. She finds the Sea God, but he isn’t the merciless ruler she was expecting; he’s trapped under a sleeping spell. With the help of her new acquaintances led by the enigmatic Shin, Mina navigates a world of demons and spirits to wake her groom and save her home before time runs out, and she can no longer leave as a human.” If you added “The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea” to your TBR because of Kuri Huang’s stunning art, fear not because the setting and atmosphere are just as magical as advertised on the cover. I wanted to dive in and never come back, minus the sacrifice part of course. My favorite part was the friendships Mina found on her journey through the Spirit Realm which led to an emotional twist that hit me like a ton of bricks. Wow! I may or may not have sobbed in a bubble bath late at night for a lengthy period of time. Just like Axie Oh’s other book “XOXO,” I thoroughly enjoyed the fictional world and platonic relationships but didn’t quite fall for the romance, although I did feel it a little more in this story. Some of the banter was cute, but overall, the love story felt too young and rushed. My head wanted to root for a happy ending because the couple is swoonworthy in theory, but there were no heart palpitations or stomach butterflies for me, I’m afraid. Due to an uptick in my enjoyment, I’m giving my second experience with Axie Oh’s work four stars. I recommend this beautiful Korean fantasy to readers who are familiar with the young adult genre and don’t mind a young love romance that doesn’t dive too deep. The world and characters will enchant you! • Full Content Breakdown on my Wordpress Blog - LaurenMicheleLifestyle

1. This. Story. Though. - I’m living for this... and honestly I have a feeling Rick deliberately made a gender fluid character to ward off those of you who would judge an entire series (or several series depending from which angle you look at it), OR... and just hear me out... OR he’s trying to humanize trans, gender fluid, and non-binary persons for you and you’re acting like a child who just got told no. Sticking your fingers in your ears and going la la la I can’t hear you (iykyk)
2021-05-29
2. Response to those calling it: trying too hard to be pc. - It’s not political in any way to show the existence of transgender and gender fluid individuals. It’s just having a character, giving them something different to mark them before character development, then having fun developing them. It shouldn’t be political to be trans or gender fluid, it should just be a thing about the character showing that these people exist.it also helps to make sure kids aren’t transphobic. If a kid is introduced to gender fluid they might go, “eww,” bc they don’t understand. They would go, “oh that’s cool,” bc they saw a character they admired that was like that. Also, if you think that Norse mythology doesn’t have genderqueer people is clearly an idiot. Look it up, they’re all over the place. Guys, gals, and non binary pals, beirdos and werdios, friends and enemies, say it with me:
GENDER ISN’T POLITICS ITS BEING WHO YOU ARE. Good day, sir

3. Perfect - This is definitely my most favorite book series of all time. All the characters are all very interesting and unique and the diversity is mind-blowing! There are all sorts of different races, religions, orientations, and abilities and all of them are done so respectfully without the use of stereotypes or assumptions. Poorly known identities are politely explained by the characters themselves, ensuring no stereotypes persist. It’s amazing and I’ve never seen anything like it!

4. Best book I’ve ever read. - This book—and frankly, this series—is some of the best things I’ve ever read. And I don’t mean that lightly. My heart leaps for almost every character in this book (bar Loki, for obvious reasons), and it’s unbelievable how well you represent. Politics have nothing to do with it—Rick Riordan, you are a hero and a true ally. Just thinking about it makes me choke up a little, because I’ve only read about one book not by Rick with a canonical LGBTQ character that actually had a role in the series; and even in that book, the entire character’s persona was built on their sexuality. There isn’t anything wrong with embracing and loving your identity, but when it starts to take over a character—especially in writing—it’s often a good indicator that the author either doesn’t really know what they’re talking about or doesn’t know how to represent it correctly. Rick Riordan, throughout almost all of your works of writing, you have made characters that we not only fall in love with, but connect ourselves to. We see ourselves in them; we know that, even if it’s only through a page, somebody out there knows that we’re not alone. Not just with queer or genderqueer characters, too; when I mentioned to friends that there was a bada Muslim female character in this series, they were all ecstatic and in admiration. No one is there for charity or shoo-ins in this series or any of Rick’s other series. They’re there because it makes those of us feel like we have a family, a home with these characters. They help educate those who may not otherwise be able to grasp that sort of understanding. They are what the people in the world need to know. In short, this book is incredible. Please read it, and I’d strongly suggest the Heroes of Olympus and Kane Chronicles series as well. Thank you endlessly, Rick Riordan!

5. Bro. - Hey Rick, stick to writing books, not politics. This is really annoying to me. I’m so tired of famous people thinking they have to put their political views into their work. The first Magnus Chase book was super good, but this one was just not the same level. I think you were trying so hard to put your political views into this you forgot to actually make this one just as good as the first. I mean, really? I don’t need Alex reminding me that he is transgender every five pages. This series could have been SUPER good. But... welp. That didn’t happen. What was wrong with the first one? Why did you change so freaking much? In the first one, the characters were funny, well thought out, and, well, perfect. I loved that book. But you ruined the series because you wanted people to know your views. I don’t appreciate that. My point is, you are a author. You are not a politician. Please act that way.

6. Pls Read Rick Riordan!!! - I love this series about to start the last book so far. I swear to Frigg if you don’t go farther than freaking books i will do it my freaking self!!!!!!!!!! Im very serious about Rick Riordan books. I’ve finished ALL the other series’s and I’m getting bored of other authors so continue this series PLEASE!!!

7. Bless You, Rick Riordan - As a non-binary, pansexual middle schooler reading Magnus Chase and Percy Jackson, I feel so much more sure of myself reading your stories and their beautiful representations of the LGBT community. I love that I can know that people who don’t live as a transgender person still care and believe us, because it’s easy to forget and be scared in the current times and being in seventh grade. The diversity of the characters in Rick Riordan’s stories in race, gender, sexuality, ability, and background is extremely empowering, and the skill with which he portrays them makes them relatable and excellent teachers.
Rick Riordan, I love your stories, and you are a true ally. Your books represent everyone, and you deserve every bit of love and fame you receive for it.
Thank you.

8. What happened? - The first book wasn't bad, and focused on the story and the quest, but I couldn't keep reading the second book after the first pages because if it's insane focus on alex and his transsexual aspect. I understand wanting to shed light on an issue you feel is important, but when it interferes with the story you are trying to convey it just becomes a virtue signaling book with some Vikings in it. I would stay away from future books in this series, if I knew that this book would be this bad I never would have bought it in the first place, completely ruined the story.
2017-12-24
9. Honestly disappointed - The old stories of Rick Riordan were great because they focused on the characters and their relation to powers that were connected to old god and myths. Seeing this set in the stage of modern times and modern places was a major reason that i loved percy jackson and the series that followed. This book is an example where writing becomes too political. I understand Riordan can write what he wants and i have nothing against writing about something you believe in, however i've seen the greatness that he can achieve and i'm fully against political correctness at the expense of storytelling.
2017-04-16
10. One Word: BRILLIANT! - This book is funny, interesting, and definitely worth at least three reads. The wittiness of the characters is refreshing, and the characterizations make you think about stuff IRL. Riordan did an amazing job of mixing the modern-day lifestyle with Norse mythology. Also, who can say no to a -star review?
2017-01-16
11. Praise for Rick!! - Rick Riordan is a true genius, he keeps coming up with new and very original works that keeps his readers on the edge of their seat the whole time. When I started reading the first Magnus Chase book I new nearly nothing about Norse mythology but even after finishing just one I understood the world of the Asgardians so much better. Same can be said for the Percy Jackson series, Heroes of Olympus series, and The Kane Chronicles, Rick brings the Greeks and Romans and Egyptians alive in a way that both Adults and children easily understand and can even learn from! Keep up the great work Rick!!!

1. Dark and Edgy - I love Skye’s writing. I love the characters she wrote for the masterpiece series. In the King we get Damon Scott is ruthless but, is on a mission to save Penny. Penny is young and lives a life in danger and is captivated by older Damon. The King is edgy and dark. It has a connection of two souls needing saving. Skye gives us their story and depths of good verses evil.

2. This is NOT YA - This is currently being featured in the Young Adult section, but this is a romance novel with the main character being aged down to . This book starts off normal, but then quickly gets graphic with language and dark situations. I felt extremely deceived by its placement in this section of iBooks store and then the writing was not compelling enough to keep reading this book.

3. Seriously so good!! - Penny was dealt a crappy hand in life, the daughter of a compulsive gambler. She's always trying to clean up her dads mess until he gets in bed with the wrong bad guy. Damon does what he can for Penny but mistakes are mad and Penny pays the price! I enjoyed reading Penny and Damon's first book!! Some tough stuff to read but definitely worth the read! So excited for The Queen!! ARC generously provided by author for honest review

1. I’m left feeling disappointed and slightly misled by both the synopsis and cover - I was intrigued by the premise: taking a well-known Disney film and retelling it with a switch. Starting with the Aladdin story, Braswell is flipping it so Jaffar is the star: he gets the genie, he becomes the Sultan. The concept was unique. The world building was sufficient, if very reminiscent of the film. Action was almost never-ending, and it did manage to reference solidly to the movie. The writing tone is far darker, not a bad thing considering the story is Jaffar’s, but the darkness often became overpowering, taking away from characters and the joy. It was a heavy read, if fast paced, with a mission centric theme, and everything feeds to that mission. Characters were broad brushstrokes, not particularly detailed and never given a solid chance to develop as complete. Sadly, what looked to be unique in concept (and succeeded in some ways) failed horribly to create a story that was both intriguing and engaging. This read more like fan fiction, yet never quite taking on a life of its own that would allow it to stand as a solid title. I’m left feeling disappointed and slightly misled by both the synopsis and cover – both beautiful and evocative with plenty of room for goodness within. Certainly not a title that inspires me to read more from this series. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

1. Great book!!! - I enjoyed this book and have loved Riordan’s books. He has yet again brought another mythology to life. There is a perfect mix of myth and modern in it. The plot is great up to the smallest details as Sadie Kane being ADHD and not being a demigod. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy a fast moving adventure with twists and turns. This book deserves a high rating and I hope I will be able to find more like it.

2. Very well written and for everyone - This book appeals to all ages and types of people with Rick Riordans beautiful writing and storytelling. The main characters have very interesting and tumultuous lives but it is very addicting to watch there to love stories evolve, two different ones respectively, and to see them grow as characters. It has inerturmoil and fighting, it has love and betrayal, and it has mythology and reason. A little heads up though, the Egyptian god reincarnated so they don’t have the same veiw of relationships as we as humans do, for example Osiris, Isis, Set and Nepthys are orginally brother and sisters born for Nut, the sky god, and her hsuband Geb the god of earth, but throughout mythology Osiris and Isis have son named Horus and they are married. They don’t see this the way we do because they were bron as siblings but they reincarnated as lovers.I read this when I was young, about - or so, and I loved it but I was more of a fan of the Percy Jackson books. I didn’t realize how much of an impact this book had on me until I realized while signing up for college I wanted to minor in Anthropology and specifically Egyptology. I also have been really hoping they make a movie out of it but stick to the book.

1. I don't know - Personally the writing style sucked. Sentence structure was awful. Some of the sentences sounded weird. Lot of misspelled and mis used words throughout the book. But keep in mind the book only cost .... Guess you can't ask for too much for the price. My year old did enjoy it, especially the illustration. After reading it to him he says that's my favorite.

1. Best book ever! - Third book in and it’s only getting better! Meyer really knows what she’s doing in this book, with every romantic interaction, loss or gain my heart continues to flutter. I absolutely love every single book in the series to the very depths of my sole and this is the best book of the series, and that says something! These books are my life so I am giving a bit fat thumbs up to this book and highly suggest you give it a go!

2. BEST. HECKIN’. BOOK. EVER. - I love Rapunzel so maybe imma bit biased but seriously EVERY Cress and Thorne scene (besides that ‘lil miscommunication you-know-what) was absolute GOALS.
I can relate to Cress on such a deep level and seeing things from her perspective really changes how I see the world. She is just in awe about everything and it is just So Beautiful! holds in happy-sobs Plus, Thorne’s (even if it was slight) character development was beyond amazing. I loved it. All of it. (Even scenes featuring everyone else, but honestly I lived for Cress and Thorne in this book.)

3. AMAZING BOOK!! - I loved Cress!! This series has been amazing so far! I loved the romance between Cress and Thorne and I felt like I got to know him better. I can’t decide which book has been the best but I know this is in the top three(I say not having read Winter yet) Can’t wait to read the next one!!

4. Oh my, the tension - The tension between Cress and Thorne is unbearable! I was really looking forward to this "sweet cinnamon bun" my big sister called her... but wowsers. I think my hopes were crushed a bit by how crazy "steamy" her imagination was. Still good but I was really excited when Winter came.

5. Favorite book so far - This has been my favorite book in the series so far. I'm
Never sure how the characters will all tie into one story but it's been enjoyable and I loved how intense this book was. Lots of crazy action and of course the love interest stuff is fun too. I look forward to the next book.

6. Too Much Description - So far I'm loving the Lunar Chronicle series, but my high expectations are not met. This may seem bias, but as a reader, I need to give my personal opinions. CONS: There is too much description and the content of this book is not to the point. I hate reading long pages of description which does not motivate me to keep on reading. Everything in here is expected and there is not many plot twists or action. Personally, "Scarlet" was sensational because of that I was expecting more thrill from this novel than "Cinder" and "Scarlet." (SPOILER): Another drawback of this novel is that Kai is dull-witted. He is determined to find the long-lost Princess Selene so that she can claim the heir. Yet, he thinks Scarlet Benoit is the rightful heir. Kai knew that Michelle Benoit (Scarlet's grandmother) is her grandmother, now this is the part where Marissa Meyer should think about. Michelle Benoit is Queen Levana's mom? First of all, Levana's last name is Blackburn. Second, Kai was told that Princess Selene is sixteen-years-old and Scarlet is eighteen. Lastly, he thinks that Scarlet is Lunar. Michelle is not Lunar, she has a hospital record that says she is born on Earth, meaning she's an Earthen. So how could Scarlet be Lunar? PROS: Aside from the cons, I quite enjoyed this novel. But the cons outweighed the pros. The description is phenomenal and makes you feel like you are in that situation/setting. Once again, the content needs to be concise. The bonds between every character is very powerful. If you look deeper into each and every character, all you find in their trait is loyalty, trust, love, sacrifice, and faith. This novel has a great message aside all of the action. I believe this message throughout the whole Lunar Chronicle series is that if you trust the right people, anything can be accomplished. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend.

7. This is the best book of the series. - Cress is a beautiful and elegantly told reselling of the original story Rupunzel. Amazing. It's the kind of book that gets you so into the character that you don't hear your friend yelling, "The buildings on fire!" Not kidding. Marisa Meyer enthralls even the sci-fi haters (such as me.) Yeah. This is the best book I've ever read. It's also kind of horrible because it makes you have all these fictional romances (dont you hate when that happens? Made me cry. ) You will think about all the crazy things this book gets you into. Side effects:
Having a mental breakdown whenever you see a tomato. Freak out when you have a bruise. Call the Moon, Luna. Make sure you always have shoes on. Stay on the toilet way too long thinking about Cresswell kiss.
This book may top Harry Potter. whispery voice. Checks to see if anybody saw that. Shiver. Thanks if you read this long review! I totally recommend this book. You will have book hangover until Winter comes. Beware....

8. THE BEST SERIES OF BOOKS! - I haven't finished this book, but I have finished Cinder and Scarlet. I'm looking forward to reading the other two books Fairest, and Winter! Marissa Meyer, you are so amazing for making these books. The drama, action, and especially the romance makes these books great. What makes these books even better is that there is always something surprising that you would never expect ! Does anyone else agree that MOVIES SHOULD BE MADE? You would totally be making LOTS of money. So I give you stars, I would give millions but it only goes up to stars. I definitely recommend you to read all the lunar chronicle books .

9. SO AMAZING - Where do I begin!
-GREAT ACTION
-HILARIOUS COMEDY
-HEART WARMING ROMANCE
-HEARTBREAKS
-WAR
-SPACE!!!!
-FUTURE! I don't even care if I have to pay more for the fourth book before it comes out!! I'm buying it!!!! And I just finished the third book TODAY...I am really hoping for book five...and six, seven, eight, etc. you have NO idea how many people I have told to read this book...and then read about chapters A NIGHT!!! Yep, that's how good this book is...

10. Astounding - Don't usually read young adult novels. Back cover sounded good and sucked me in. I recommend starting with Cinder, then you will be hooked. All three books are equally captivating. I have a hard time putting them down once I start reading. There are two kinds of books in my personal world. Ones that make you sleepy and ones that keep you up. Before I know it, it's after am and I'm not sleepy at all. That's a GREAT book and this series is in the category. Hope they make a movie!
2015-02-28
11. It was AMAZING!!! - This book was AMAZING! Cress and Thorne didn't turn out the way I hoped, but it was like Tangled with them. Wolf is still, OBVIOUSLY my favorite character, and I wish Scarlet could've been in the book more, Cinder and Kai at the end made MY nerves frizzle and tingle. I'm shaking as I'm writing this. Winter does seem a little crazy, but I understand what it's like to be called crazy. My twin sister said I was so STUPID to spend MY time read ing these books. Well, news flash girl, you're the one who's crazy for not reading these books!

2. Incredible book, horrible movies - So I read this book in like rd grade(I’m in sixth now) and I lovedddddd it!! It’s soo good and I think that everyone should at least try to read it. I usually can’t binge ANYTHING like books, tv shows, movies, it dosnt work for me! But I re read this series at least times! If u finished the pjo series, I highly recommend heroes of Olympus, hunger games, and Harry Potter. These were (and still are!) my fave books!! Tysm for reading this all!! Have a good rest of ur day!

3. Wow!!!! - I'm not much of a reader ... I wanted to start to improve my habits so I picked a series recommended by my friends. I finished this book in days. I wasn't expecting to read it and find that it was the best book I have ever read.i greatly recommend this book to any kid between the grades of and

4. Awesome - I read this book and it is so so so awesome. I can't buy the th book and it's not in my library and I'm dying to read it. The whole series is so interesting even though Greek mythology seems like the most boring subject. I HATE EVERYONE THAT HATES PERCY JACKSON! I love reading fantasy books, but I would forget I read them after a while. When I read this book, I had so many feelings for it, I read it when I was allowed to play with my friends. Ward off the evil

5. not as good as the book - The movie is based on the book but it follows the story so loosely that you wish you had seen the movie first. If they did a better job at following the story line it could have been just as good as the Harry Potter movies. If they do end up making a second movie I won't watch it I rather keep the story in my head as the book has it.
2011-06-14
6. The Lighting Thief - This book was the best book I've read in a long long time. Rick Rorden did such a good.................wait what am I saying "good" it was great! Even BETTER than that!!! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!!!! :O If you ever read this message READ the book and then tell your friends. Usually in my opinion I don't really enjoy reading as much as others but this was a truly truly a good book. P.S. The book is waaaaayyyy better than the movie! :) read the book than watch the movie I guarantee you will enjoy the book so so so much better :)

7. Better than most fantasy series - I still don't understand how a series like Percy Jackson (that is centered for kids) can beat something like Harry Potter or Twilight. But I don't need to because this series deserves more to be on the top than Harry Potter. With the movie. I liked it, well only because it had a mixture of action/adventure and friendship. But it didn't really follow most of the important details. I heard they are thinking about the next movie, The Sea Of Monsters. I, at least, hope they can tell the information that was left out in the beginning. And if you think about, most movies that is based on series don't start out well, but immediately will get better. So in the end, I like the book and the series itself (I am really excited for the next book, The Lost Hero). But with the movie. Yes I understand it did not follow and it is kind of true that if the movie was not based on the book, it would have been that good, but let's just be open minded and hope the next movie in the series will be more descriptive in the information.

8. Bad - I am a BIGTIME Percy Jackson fan!!!! But I absolutely HATED the movie!!!!! It is just WAY to different from the real book!!! ( no offense to anyone who likes the movie) there's just WAY TO MANY things that the movie had added in n ALOT of good stuff was taken out!!!!! I am happy that there is a movie of it but come on the movie shouldn't even be called percy Jackson!!!! It's just SOOOO different!!!!
2010-09-08
9. NO- - THE MOVIE SHOULD BE LIKE THE BOOK!!!!! (ugh! Itz like the Resident Evil movie series all over again!!! Alice needs to die a horrible and zombie inflicted death, the bia!!) movies should be like the books, video games, or tv shows they're based off of!!! Stupid movie makers (note: to make a second movie off of this book series would be near impossible, cause itz about Thalia' Tree (the protective border) on the hill of camp half-blood, and the movie's version of the camp haz a arch-gate-thing AND they are in a forest; there are no special trees mentioned. I ABSO-FRIGIN-LUTELY HATE the movie (I exercise my rights)

1. Not her best - I’ve read all the books in the series and excitedly pre-ordered this one, but was instantaneously disappointed. I put it down and revisited it a couple of days ago (almost months after the initial read). I was able to finish it the time, but that’s about all I can say about it. It was lacking in many ways... I’m ultimately grateful that this wasn’t the first book from the series that I read for I wouldn’t have invested time in reading another. My recommendation: skip it.

2. Still good but not the same - I love her villain series but this one didn’t fit with the others. She mentions the sisters and the fairy tales but it just didn’t fit. On its own, the story was very good and well written. I’d suggest reading this book with the thought of completely forgetting about the others in the series. That’s the only reason I knocked off the fifth star.

3. Evil thing - I have to start bu saying i have mixed emotions of this book it is always great to see Moore of villains that are not valued as they should so i appreciate that part in the book knowing cruella and anitas relationship even where did perdita came from is fascinating , i also did not like the fact that author made cruella into a miserable and a broke person when in the movies live action and carton she was not broke in live action she was a named fashion icon so that was kind of out of place. It disappoints me that the last couple chapters i feel where rushed and where not quite up there with all the other books finale it lacked action and it was literally the movie in a book i believe Moore could have been done with this villain overall its a interesting book and i enjoyed the time invested.

1. Mirror, Mirror on the wall this book is the best of all - I love this book, I have been wanting a series that keeps me in the mind of reading and this is the beginning of a great series. I am a Disney guru and this book allows me to explore part of Disney I never knew about. This series is amazing it actually ties in with the corresponding movie and I couldn’t put the book down! I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! can’t wait to start the next book!

1. I was enchanted by this book - This book belongs to my favorite Disney princess I liked the twists and turns and mystery of this book. I couldn’t put it down..and I was starting to drive people a little crazy... it was nice to learn about kind of the mystery villain in Beauty and the Beast, I thought that the villain would be Gaston but we learned a little bit more about both of them but more of the beast who still had an unexplained story. This book is imaginative and something you can’t put down! I most definitely recommend it
2020-05-12
2. Classic Story, Awesome twist! - This book had the classic story of Beauty and The Beast but it was more of the Prince’s story, which was beautiful! Also there were additional characters and villains, and not to spoil, but there were some friendships that I didn’t expect! I highly suggest you read it:))))
2018-01-22
3. Entertaining, but story rather weak towards end - This story started out interesting learning about the history of the Prince but when it went back to the present with Belle it started to be just a retelling of the move and at the end the whole thing was very rushed as if the writer couldn't be bothered any more.
2016-10-06
4. Beast - I ran across the first book on a Disney trip. I previewed it and had to read it. It was great, so when the second book came out I was excited to start reading it. Was very disappointed, it almost felt like it was rushed. Still an interesting book but I preferred the first. I Agree with other reviews that the focus was on the witches. Would have liked the story to focus more on the beast and his relationships rather then to discuss the witches. I really hope Ursula's story is similar to "fairest of all"
2016-06-06
5. Disappointed. - I really liked Serena's other book that retold the life of snow whites queen. This book was disappointing in the facts that it didn't focus on the change in the beast or his relationship with belle. Those story lines were glossed over so the author could focus on the witches story. Which was lame. I wish the book spent as much time on the story of belle and beast as the back story of prince.

1. NOT FOR KIDS. But good book - Okay I’m not a person that reads but this book caught me and was so entertaining! I wasn’t expecting the dark and gory disturbing details.. could’ve lived without reading those parts, and caught me off guard a little bit but! other then that the book has a good storyline and is very interesting to follow!
2022-10-18
2. Terribly Twisted in the Worst Way Possible - I’m not sure whose book this audience belongs to. It’s written for fourth grade reading, but much too dark and morbid for young readers. If this were a movie, I would’ve turned it off immediately. The plot is weak and this author just can’t seem to really nail these villains’ back stories or develop a decent story.
