1. Thumbs up book! :) - This is the most inspiring stories I ever read. Bethany, you are a great person. She really shows you that anything is possible. She's a great one, Bethany, she is. I love her determination and belief. And I like how her faith in god and the Christ and all that is so strong. I really think she is the best surfer out there! 2. Soul surfer - I saw the movie and never read the book, but once I read the book I thought that what Bethany had to go through was rough but she still got back into the water! I know myself, I would be petrified! She is so brave! The book is amazingly written! And I like how the book (and the movie) is about faith, love, family, and God. I love how the story is surrounded by Jeremiah :. I think this book is a great book and if you loved the movie you would definitely love the book! Totally recommended!

3. Amazing!!!! - Omg! Normally I hate reading . I read this book in two days. I love this movie and this book I think that any one who has trouble facing there fears should watch a this movie and read this book. This taught me to never give up even when the worst thing happens you can always live life to the fullest even after a horrible event comes.

4. Amazing, you truly inspire me! - After seeing soul surfer the movie I wanted to learn to surf so badly and to learn so much more about Hawaii and about sharks and surfing. This book and the movie inspired me to learn to surf, and learn how to speak Hawaiian. I have a back brace for scoliosis and I found this book has really helped me be less aggravated when I can't wear things my friends wear or I cant stay at the beach for too long because of it. Bethany is my role model and I can't wait until summer so I can improve my surfing! Thank you so much Bethany, you have helped me be a better person, a better Christian, and a better athlete!

9. Soul-inspiring - This real life account of a girl from a small village in Hawaii is incredibly inspiring on so many levels. As as a mom who has been accused on several occasions of being over-protective, this story reminded me that where I place my faith is where I will find my belief. It took me back to placing faith in God and giving him back the control over my life, as well as the lives of my kids. That was just one of the many, many spiritually inspiring messages I walked away with, and now my daughter is going out in the world to share Jesus as I am home praying on her behalf and bathing in peace that only comes from God. Praise our Lord, Jesus Christ!

10. Awesome Sample. - I read the sample of this book and I am dying to read the rest of it. Bethany is such an inspiration and an awesome role model. She is an awesome Christian influence and an inspiration to everyone. The first time I heard about Bethany was in an article I my American Girl magazine and ever since then I was curious to read the whole story. This is an Inspiration to you no matter how old you are - As a family that has overcome tragedy, examples and role models like Bethany reinforce what you know and believe -- that God doesn't leave you and that you can survive and live again. You can get through it and re-connect with live. As a father with a young daughter, it was very cool reading the book because she writes the first part of the book very recently after the accident -- in other words, in the words of a year old girl who's just been through a lot. It's very heart warming. The last part of the book is written more recently and reflects an evolved understanding of her circumstances and yet remains uplifting and extremely (and realistically) positive. There were parts of this book that had my eyes watering. I will probably read it again. My daughter loved it as well. Great to have such a good role model for her.

1. so far so good! - i used to be a huge book reader but more recently i’ve lost touch with that side of me. this book completely changed my mind, i spend at least minutes every day reading as much as i can of this book, and i enjoy every second of it. while reading this i think of a ton of different questions, like “how do you pronounce this??” or how one man pretty much had more control over pakistan / swat than their own government did. the questions i come up with aren’t a bad thing, to me it’s the best thing about reading a book!! this review made like zero sense, but i hope whoever is reading this gets what i mean ahaha

3. Changed my life forever - I-I can't even describe how-how amazing this book is..... 1. Heart Warming - This was a very nice book and definitely an easy read. I learned about the foster care system and learned that kids know more than you think. I would definitely recommend this book to someone that wants to be a social worker, someone that wants to work in the foster care system, or someone who would like to become a foster parent. Ashley is very inspiring and her work to help children in foster care has been deeply appreciated. / recommend!

2. three little words - I never read a book from cover to cover in one setting. However, Ashley Rhodes wrote about her life story in such a manner that I was riveted to find out how she survives it. What an inspiration and a motivation to help the children in this country who are first neglected or abused by the people who gave them life and then by people who are pretending to help them only for their own personal gain or to take out frustrations of the past on the innocent children.

3. Amazing!! - This book is AMAZING. I am so moved by hearing her story. I am a CWS (CPS) social worker and truly work very hard to ensure my part in a child's memory is as positive as possible (given the circumstances). Ashley's story has taught me A LOT and has made me want to implement some of my practices very differently. Her story is very real and so accurately represents problems with the system. So, touching and a MUST read.

4. Very insightful book - In the beginning being a upcoming sophomore, when I got assigned to read this out of many of the other phenomenal books. I decided to read the summary to give me some insight on what the books were about. I'm a book lover so when I read about how it was based off what the author has been through and overcame as an individual in the system I was ecstatic. I can honestly say I give this book five stars I love it and I would definitely read this over again.

5. Should be mandatory reading - Lovingly and skillfully written. I could feel the healing as I read. I could not stop til i finished. Ashley, your story is one that HAD to be shared. You are the voice of so many lost voices that will never be listened to or heard. Thank you for taking me along with u and sharing so much of yourself. 6. Absolutely a must read for anyone adopting a hurt or abandoned child! - This book was a deep, sometime difficult read, for me and my family. We recently went through the, kinship placement process, and are now waiting for the official adoption. We learned so much in this one book, versus the countless other adoption books. We have even ask our biological children to partake in the reading of this book. Just so they would understand exactly, how their new sister must have felt, during her years of trials and tribulations. I must add, that this book helped me realize how wounded she and countless children have been. 7. Heartwarming - This book tells the true story of Ashley. It is at times heart wrenching. In the end it is inspiring. Kudos to Ashley for being brave enough to speak out! 8. Heartbreaking with a happy ending - I cried so many times while reading this book. I was so touched and moved by her words and her hope that her mother would return. Being a new mother myself, I cannot imagine ever having to leave my daughter. I ached for the author and her pain to just be with her mother, to smell her scent, to hear her voice. The torture she went through with the abusive foster parents makes you wonder how many other vulnerable children are suffering similar situations. This book should be mandatory for all foster and adoptive parents to read. I was so happy for her that she ended up in such a loving home and finally embraced her new family as her own.

10. Amazing book will leave you thinking about it long afterwards... - I saw this book in the "teen" section of the library when I was with my year old daughter checking out books. The title looked interesting so I picked it up. I read the first few pages and knew I needed to read it myself. This book was incredible. Not just because what is inside it's pages is true, but the fact that Ashley is such an amazing young woman herself and came out on the "other" side. She is a brilliant writer, and for someone at such a young age, who can vividly portray everything she went through, I was just floored. This book had me in tears and outrage in several parts, but also had me smiling and wondering how this woman survived all that she did. I recommend this to everyone who enjoys reading memoirs. (Note to teenager below..."memoir" is a story of your life...so yes, my teenage friend, it is "real" indeed.) ;) You will NOT be disappointed!!

2. God's Girl - I really admire Sadie Robertson, although… on the show (more recently than ever) the Robertsons have displayed worldly characteristics throughout(for example), disrespect, selfish ambitions, attitude(particularly from Willie) etc. Don't get my angle wrong though. I and my family loved watching Duck Dynasty until we realized exactly how much it has changed. You nail down on biblical principles, and family values from your mouth yet on the show you act completely different. It's not too late to change all of that.

1. Inspired - Although I was out of high school and in college, it's the same thing I went through. People staring, talking in whispers and all that. You would think since it's college people would be more mature and actually applaud that I was STILL pushing through school to reach my goal, until birth, but you'd be wrong. My family also had their issues, since I am the only one with a full ride to college and to actually succeed. My eldest sister didn't talk to me for about two months and talked bad about my partner and I. My father disowned me and said I ruined my life and I would never amount to anything anymore. As for my mom, she took advantage of mh situation to benefit from it; lowered her rent to practically nothing and it increased her income. Your project shed light on a topic people are shady about and made it known that being a young parent isn't easy as it is, especially with all the negativity surrounding you making it more difficult. 1. Best book I've read - I like this book because its very related to my problem. I'm not an amputee. But I have an obvious small bump on my head. Which makes my head look like a peanut. It's sooooo obvious. The thing I've learned about this book is that you should make your disabilities or appearance define who you are. It would be hard to let go. Plus I when I dated girls. 3. Transcendence - There are a lot of remarkable athletes in the world. There are very few that are transcendent like Simone Biles is. Simone's qualities of work ethic and fearlessness, as described in this book, mean that nothing, inside gymnastics or outside, is off limits for this once in a generation talent.

1. What a book (by Ziyon) - This book is a memory about a boy named Walter. The story starts off by talking about his family and how different it is from most. His biological mother died so his father re-married. After that happened his father had other girls with her. Her family, however, didn't like that she was married to an African American, she was forced to leave him. When she took her daughters, she also took Walter in. This is hard for him at times. The book then goes on to tell about his life and going through school in a white community. He ends up going to high school years earlier than most kids would, and finds himself getting into a lot of trouble. When he's about ready to finish high school he makes a decision to go into the army at age . Of course, he has to lie and say his parents are dead though. He goes through a depressing time and he wants to quit writing until one day he writes a poem and it gets published. Then he goes on the rest of his life being an author. His writing style is more personal than anything. He writes his story from his point of view on his life. He doesn't care what people think about him being black, or him being and excelled students. He just wants to live his life. I like him for that reason. I like the characters thoughts though on life.

1. O'Really? - This is honestly one of the most poorly written books I've ever read. As I read through the short chapters, I could never get truly engaged. There was very little comfortable flow...almost as if the sections had been cut and pasted. Although I do appreciate well-placed photos and diagrams, they seemed like filler. And the ending....very abrupt. I've read other books that chronicle the life of Christ, as well as the Bible itself, and this one would come in on the bottom. I had planned on this being my first O'Reilly book. Guess it's my first and last unless I find one at Good Will and can take a chance for $..

1. THE BEST BOOK IN THE HISTORY OF EVER!!!! - Please read my full review! I was in the school library looking for a book. Our teacher gives us fifteen minutes to get three books. I wasted ten minutes because I had used the bathroom on the way there. I had five minutes left to get three books. I found the book I had been wanting to read lately, The Doll People, even though I read it times already, then I found The Popularity Papers, which I read times already, they only have the first book of . I needed one more book in less than three minutes. I hurried to the biography section for a book on Cesar Chavez. I was skimming through and found a book out of place. I picked it up. The Upstairs Room. The cover was white with a very good drawing of a grassland and a little house. Very different from the cover they have on the app. I took it with me and got my books checked out. Back at class we had to do silent reading so I sat in the rocking chair in the corner of the room with The Upstairs Room book. Immediately, I was hooked. They had such good details and true information on the thing. I didn't even know that concentration camps killed them with gas and baked them in ovens. All my mom told me was they were worked to death. It was a magnificent book and I am convincing my Mom to order it online. If not I will buy and iTunes card and buy the book on here!
