1. A Wise book to read - Hans, Anna and Ola wrote together a book that was really needed for me. It provided a worldview that is both concerned and appreciative of the current circumstances. I really like this. It gave me a deep sense of comfort and I really appreciate this book for deep honesty. I will keep coming back to this book as I become older I think. Thanks a lot.

2. Must Read for All Who Want to Learn the Truths about the World - As a trained Sigma Black Belt and graduate of Air War College, this book provides the same approach to data collection, it’s analysis, and findings; but applied to a view of our world culture(s). It provides the facts, presented so the truth can be gleaned and wisdom achieved. Truly a wonderful book. While I would have to differ on or viewpoints that are tied to moral issues, this would be out of a plethora of poignant and beautifully presented insights into our human world. I feel my brain has expanded like a balloon after reading this book. I need some time to assimilate it all.

3. Must read - Hans Rosling was one of the pioneers of data science snd analytics. He demonstrates how reality and our perceptions can be so vastly different. An it is important for all of us to know why decisions need to be made based on data and facts rather than emotion. The world would be a better place if everyone read this book.

4. Highly recommended - In an age of mass media, our perception of the world may be twisted by the intriguing news and popular articles published in the journals. However, Do you know the world better than chimpanzees do? Before you read this book, don’t be so confident to answer this question. Hans Rosling’s Factfulness raises readers awareness of the global trend and provides useful tools for people to think critically. I had assumed that the book might be full of dull data and complicated theories, but Hans Rosling uses the humorous expression, vivid personal story, and clearly stated data to grab its readers attention and show them the real stories happened around the world. His discussion of the misperception of the global facts teaches the readers how important it is to see the world critically and open-minded. The sophisticated readers from different backgrounds might find this book insightful and think twice when they read the news about global trend. Highly recommended!!

1. A must read and listen - Many thanks to Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic for taking an amazing book and making it available on audio. If you're in a role where you need to convince people with analytics this is a must have. Not just for novel ways of showing insights. But also great practical tips for those of us who aren't natural storytellers.

1. Pure Gold. Useful and entertaining. - Provides a very useful way to consider the mechanics of statistics, but also human factors that can accidentally corrupt the process. In addition to learning the methodology, it provides ways I can communicate the ‘how’ of this to people I present this to. (in ways they understand) Between “Naked Statistics” and "Data Design: The Visual Display of Qualitative and Quantitative Information” by Jürgen Kai-Uwe Brock, readers who create data analysis and then present it to stakeholders will have a full tool box of incredibly useful info.

2. Informative but could’ve gone further - The book was very informative in trying to make statistics make sense to those of us who struggle with them. It did a great job explaining, in layman’s terms, how the math relates to the topic being analyzed and how that can benefit or hurt us. I was hoping for a little more of the math itself since I purchased it to try and get a better grasp on that. It barely touches on some of it while conceding that’s not why the author wrote the book. Either way, it does help explain much of the concepts behind all the research studies we see and hear in the news and social media. Worth the read.

3. Clearly explains the topic - As someone who uses a lot of advanced statistical methods in my profession, I enjoy reading books like this, as they often help me to explain what I am doing to non-scientists. The author is also not a statistician, and that is a good thing, as he approaches the topic from a very practical view-point. His explanations are clear and concise, and technically accurate. It is the best book, by far, for the curious layperson seeking to understand statistics and its use in life.
A few topics were omitted, which puzzle me. Analysis of variance was not covered, which is a shame, especially since it could dove-tail nicely into the discussion around multi-linear regression. More serious was the complete lack of any discussion on Bayesian statistics. As an unabashed Bayesian , I find this to be most unfortunate. There is a huge resurgence in Bayesian methods now, and all serious stats research is Bayesian-based. More importantly, to discuss Bayesian, one must discuss frequentist statistics, including the limitations of the p-value (contrary to what the author would like you to believe, the p-value is not without some serious faults). Here's hoping the author revises the book and includes these important topics, which would improve an already terrific book.

1. Wonderful - I really like this book. I studied Euclid many years ago and decided recently to go through the Elements again, and I now often prefer my ipad to a paper book, especially when traveling. For me, the Elements are to math what Bach cello suites are to music. Both are simple, elegant, and examples of the best things in life. I was initially skeptical that this ebook would be a complete redo, but it is the same wonderful Sir Thomas Heath translation that I read in paper years ago. The interactive diagrams of the propositions are great! They bring it to life on an iPad and, for me at least, add extra insight into the proofs. My only tiny complaint is that many of the proofs extend beyond one page, and it is a bit of a pain to go back and forth to the diagram on the first page. Maybe there is a feature to change the font and layout, but I haven't found it. Another fix might be to reproduce the figure, perhaps smaller, on all subsequent pages of a proof. I suppose this could be a button that could turn these on or off. I hope that the authors are working on the rest of the books. Right now it stops at . I'm sure I will be eager to have more!

1. Still Relevant - Albeit the examples are a bit out-of-date, this remains an amusing read if nothing else. The author, Darrell Huff, poses that we should all be wary of what we read as fact, particularly when statistics are being used to support the arguments at hand. This is especially relevant today when statistics are thrown about more freely than salt at a Sumo match. It would have been nice to see the author provide more positive examples of how statistics could be used to better effect. And it would be really interesting if someone would update this with current examples of how Big Data Analytics are being misused. Read this book and you’ll be better prepared for your next cocktail party political debate...

2. Statistics for People Bad at Math - "How to Lie With Statistics" is a great book about the many incorrect things that can be easily "proven" with mathematics, and how you can avoid falling for it. The real strength of the book is that it gets it's point across with simple terms and examples that most non-mathematicians will be able to easily follow. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in taking a more critical look at our world from a numerical perspective, but wants to do it without an advanced degree.

1. Fun, Important, and Very Well Written - The Drunkard's Walk explores the role of random processes in our life. It discusses how various people throughout history have deciphered the parameters of randomness and integrated it into the deterministic view of life. The book is engaging, accessible to those without a technical background but meaty enough for those with a technical background. I highly recommend it.

1. Educational, but... - This book, required for my school, was highly educational with its use of a storyline and pictures to help with the material. That being said, I feel like this was just a high school textbook written into a book for ten year olds. The different names for different math terms were highly confusing, and I found several grammatical errors. For a required book, though, it was much more manageable than I'd expected.
