1. New Perspective at Psalm - At first glance this book seems like a simple overview of one of the most famous and quotes passages in the Bible. Yet within the first few pages all expectations shatter. Psalm becomes alive, because you’re able to see where David was when he wrote it. Everything has meaning, and it all points to the LORD. Keller does a wonderful job of bringing life and meaning to each thought David had. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to understand the LORD’s heart for His sheep.
2021-01-302. A guiding force.. - When I first got this book I would casually read through the journey of this Shepard. As I progressed I felt the spirit. I’m a year old relearning how to have a relationship with God, and this book is great. It’s a guiding force that shares the parallels between the responsibilities of a Shepard, and how our current affairs in society impact our relationship with God. From the minuscule tasks of sheering a sheep and how that affects the body, and balance of a sheep to how our own bodies and understanding effect our relationship with God. Sheeesh. Now that I’ve completely finished the book. I can’t wait to reference my bookmarks as I travel through the hills sides. Great for beginners in The Word, and anyone who might be seeking or understanding their rocky relationship with the living Word.

1. Nice to have an e-book version , BUT ... - I have a hard copy of The Orthodox Study Bible , but thought it would be nice to have an e-book version on my computer . I assumed when I purchased it that the iBook version would be the same as the hard copy version with the Footnotes included , but the iBook version of OSB does NOT have the study footnotes. For that reason I can’t recommend this . I hope that the publishers will update the iBook version to include the full footnotes as in the printed version of OSB.
2014-04-202. currently not buying - This is my favorite bible for daily reading, entirely because of the footnotes. By the way, my star rating is for the content of the book, no this e-book. In fact, I can't even buy this book unless I can get an opportunity to try it out. This is the exact dilemma created by the iTunes no refund store policy. The fact is that this book sample does not include the footnotes. Does the purchased full book include footnotes, and are they formatted in a helpful or time wasting way. I currently use the kindle version and the footnotes are included, but they jump around a bit more than necessary. If this were footnoted better than the kindle, I might be willing to buy it once OS X gets an ereader in Maverick. Apple, please change your store policy to allow buyers a remorse period to get a refund.
2013-08-273. Update - Hoping that someday there will be an update to make the iPad version more in line with the printed version. Two important things missing from this digital version: ) Footnotes: as you read, many passages, will be footnoted to clarify meaning, historical context and other helpful insights. The footnotes will amplify the biblical text itself and its interpretation, Orthodox theology, liturgical use of passage, people in the passage and how the passage applies to our lives. Since the footnotes are missing, one also misses the opportunity to experience what the printed version has...footnotes! ) While deep into a chapter, one can get lost as to what book they are actually in and sometimes what chapter because there is no heading to refer to, like there is in the printed version, which is printed at the top of every page. Bought the digital version so I could keep notes with certain verses. Then I'm able ask my priest about those I don't quite understand the meaning of. So the iPad version does make that very convenient. The printed version just seems much better organized.
2013-07-164. Like it but... - Great bible, but the iBook has two flaws - it needs the name of the book you are in on each page, like hard cover bibles have. You have no clue where you are. Also, when going to the bookmark page, the individual bookmarks are not labeled, showing what book/chapter/verse each bookmark is. If you have several bookmarks, you could spend minutes guessing which one is what. I would rate this a -star if this was corrected.

1. Best to date! - Haven’t ever been able to follow a month long, let alone a several month, plan to read through a book or the whole Bible. BUT, this plan is wonderful! Being able to listen to the readings, thoughtfully but quickly jot down my thoughts, and then tie it all up with a concise yet God-sized podcast with Tara, works. I really enjoy “looking for God” as I read, and find it quite surprisingly has more to say about “me” than looking for life applications does. Even my hubby is doing it and is further along than I am!!! Keep up the faithful following of HIM so that readers/studiers like us can see & hear that “He’s where the joy is!”
2023-03-022. Wow - This book is amazing. One of the top books every Christian should read. It walks through every chapter in the Bible, providing a deeper understanding, and rich insight. I am amazed by this author’s knowledge. We would each have to read a dozen commentaries to gather all of this together. The book is encouraging too. It helps us to draw closer to God and walk in the Light. I love how Tara-Leigh ends each chapter with a reminder that God is where the joy is. An excellent book and I cannot recommend it enough. I know I will be continually referencing it.

Disappointing - i sat in class and pulled this book up on my laptop and began to read. the cover seemed creative and light yet thought out yet the actual book was not. i dimmed my screen in disappointment at how the book made it seem like i too could be god. only my teacher was able to explain how that in fact isnt true. but how?! positivity can take you anywhere but this book was written by a small group of apes. i highly discourage purchasing yet im still intrigued....

1. Wonderful guide to understanding Revelation - The Final Events in World History is the best explanation of Biblical prophecy as it is revealed in the book of Revelation. Written in an easy to follow timeline and thoroughly referenced back to earlier prophecies it serves as a reminder that the Bible is truly God inspired, written by men over a period of hundreds of years, translated countless times,used as a basis for many of the ‘man made’ laws that govern us today yet it is still so relevant to present day events. Chip does a great job of making it plan and applicable to modern daily living without watering down the message. Great read for a new believer or a season saint as well. No search engine?- update - I realized there is a search on each page (not a great one bc you apparently need to know Roman numerals to search for a verse) but it is available on each commentary page just not in the table of contents. There is no search engine in this massive compilation so when you need something in New Testament you must scroll through literally thousands of pages to get there. That seems pretty basic that you would put a search in something this big.
