1. A return to reading - I’ve always been a reader but lately it’s been more difficult for me to focus long enough to finish a book. This tome was a daunting feat for me to accomplish. It took me six months to read the first pages but once I was fully immersed, it took me one day to read the next . This book is incredibly written and easy to read. The details of the story feel almost like a soap opera. The female characters and romance were particularly my favorite. /

1. Not bad, pleasant light reading - Hmmm….Well, I finished it (that says a lot as I won’t finish a book if I’m not interested) I don’t think I should have watched the movie first. The ending of the book seemed anticlimactic with one of the villains, I thought that was a shame, so I ended the book with a “that’s it?” kind of feeling. However, the characters were well created and I wanted to know what would happen to them in their journey. I also love the basic idea of the story, very very creative. Mr. Gaiman tends to have very creative story ideas, so I was pleased with his unique star fallen idea. All in all, not a bad read, just don’t expect a big grand finale like the movie. :)

2. Critically acclaimed for a reason - The prose is almost florid, the settings sketched out in a way that rightly assumes the reader has familiarity with standard fantasy fares and tropes; but the plot, with its beats only predictable enough to make a reader feel clever, is satisfying enough to keep the pages turning all the way to its fulfilling conclusion. I do, however, feel as if there is a bit of that Gaiman sexism here; there is a female protagonist’s companion and object of affection, but she exercises nearly no agency of her own and is treated much as a prize or possession while justifying it all as a rescue.

3. Missing the last chapter - First, while the very st run of Stardust was illustrated, later editions were not. The illustrations by Charles Vess are not necessary to the story, and the tale is still a wonderful fairy tale without them. However, THIS BOOK IS MISSING THE LAST CHAPTER. I have a hardcopy of Stardust in front of me, and there's a final, bittersweet chapter that wraps up the tale of Tristan and Yvaine which is not in this version. The story suffers without it. Save your money and buy the hardcopy, folks.

4. Lovely - This book was absolutely charming in every way. The characters and storyline were unique and interesting. The only complaint I have (well not even a complaint, but a comment) is that at parts of the journey that would have built the emotion between Yvain and Tristan he did what every elementary school writing teacher tells us not to do. He told instead of showing. Maybe I like my books a little too flowery, but he sometimes skipped over things I would have loved to read. But over all he writes beautifully and I would highly suggest this book.

5. Bought the book, read most of it on iBooks - I've always wanted a hardbound copy of this book but to no avail, like it's a rare piece already. So, I had no choice but to buy the paperback copy. I've read a few chapters but I just had a hard time reading it. It didn't help that the story wasn't written in modern-time English, so I bought the iBooks version. I have to say, I find the price steep for a digital copy as a paperback copy cost just about the same but it was easier for my to read the story. :) It's the first book I've ever purchased on iBooks.

6. Not what I expected - Stardust is one of my favorite movies and I was thrilled to find out it was based on a book. the book is quite different however: this is the first time I've ever liked the movie more than the book. I will admit a bias since I saw the movie first, but the characters in the movie were much more intricate and engaging. The movie also makes vast improvements on a slow storyline that lacks the details that allow the reader to immerse in the world that a fantasy novel should create. If you haven't seen the movie, find a used copy of this book, but don't pay the iBooks price to download it.

2. Audio Version Embarrassing - This review is strictly about Lou Diamond Phillips narrating an amazing story. After /- hrs I could no longer listen to it. Phillips over exaggerated almost every sentence and don’t get me started on the voices he used for some of the characters. After choosing a stereotypical “Bruno” voice in Chapter four, I hit stop and decided to enjoy reading the book on my own. Back in the ‘s this book changed my life and I thought at , it would be nice to revisit the story. So my advice read it, don’t listen to it. BTW, I have listened to audiobooks and this is by far the worst narration of my library.

Reading it now confirmed some things I already new, explained some things I've been struggling with and taught me some new stuff. 1. Loved this story! - When I see Michelle Helliwell, I know I will enjoy her story. The characters and settings come alive in this tale. Lady Eleanore is done with putting herself out there in the marriage mart. Scandalized for a broken engagement she is determined to immerse herself in her charity work at the local infirmary. What she finds is that Bastien DuMont has replaced the usual physician and seems to have a lot of secrets. As they often are, things and people are not always as they appear. Dashing Bastien ( don't you love that name?) is really a spy on the run trying to stay out of the sights of those in pursuit. Intrigue, danger and a lot of emotions, bring this delightful story alive. A must read to see how it all works out and you will not be disappointed! This book was gifted to me..

1. Entertaining - I thought this book started a little slow but after the first chapter the book picked up and was hard to put down. The chapters became charming with a sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. You can’t seem to go wrong with Neil Gaiman. 2. Easy and enjoyable read - I don’t read much but this book is seriously pretty amazing. I loved the stories and the detail. It has some good stories in it that help to understand more of the old Norse gods. I would recommend to anyone who is interested it Norse mythology. It didn’t drag on and was fun and exciting. I couldn’t put it down! stars from me. I wish there were more stories!

1. Excellent fantasy! - The farther I read, the more I loved. Emily Wilde is determined to find evidence of a group of fae that no other researcher has found. As she settles into her rustic cottage far from comfort and all she knows and feels unwelcome by the townspeople, her arch rival Wendell Bambleby arrives with two assistants in tow. He moves right into the cottage and starts to take over. Emily is determined that it’s her name that will appear on the research paper and this will be the culminating entry in her encyclopaedia of faeries. I loved every page of this book. In many ways it made me think of Katherine Arden’s Winternight trilogy beginning with The Bear and the Nightingale. As the Russian fantasy develops and deepens in that series, so does the Scandinavian lore grow and flourish in Heather Fawcett’s fantasy. I have high hopes for the success of this book.. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read this arc in exchange for an honest review.

2. Can’t wait for book - I was privileged to receive a digital ARC from Del Rey books and NetGalley. This review is my own. I read this book about a week ago and haven't known what to say in a review. All these words have been circulating through my brain: amazing, colorful, magical, other worldly, enchanting. I am in awe of the writer who has written a wonderful fairy tale for adults. While this book would certainly be enjoyed by readers in the YA (Young Adult) category, it reads as so much more. This book is about faeries. There are many different kinds and they all have their own doors to get in and out of their magical realms. They can put enchantments on people and cause all kinds of mischief. Emily, a scholar, has been doing research for years on faeries from all over the world, so when she stumbles into problems in Hrafnsvik, she needs to rely on all she has learned over the years. There is a love story woven into this novel that will warm your heart, both between the villagers, Emily's co-author and Emily. This novel was superb!! I had so much fun picturing the snow, the magical realms, the faeries and the love. I look forward to reading the next book by the author.

It was recommended to me based on my love for Ordinary Grace and this book felt so similar in its vulnerability for those of us who are inclined to normal human behavior as well as its representation of a beautiful soul—in this case, Jeremiah Land. I am not religious yet these two books who speak of people who believe were so relatable and beautiful.

2. Peace Like a River - This book is now one of my all time favorites! It seemed like Mr. Enger purposely wrote entire chapters to use specific, wonderful words of prose, but without effort. The first time I read it, I kind of ignored the poem that runs throughout the book--mistake! Read every word of this book, let them roll around in your mind as you would fine chocolate in your mouth. It is truly amazing that this is his first novel. I recommend it without reservation, and have given it as gifts to several members of my family and friends.

3. Peace Like a River - The storytelling in this novel is masterful. Each character seems to personify some aspect of human frailty and integrity that defies the odds. I've just finished my second reading of this novel and I'm even more in awe of the subtle, brilliant exploration of human nature. I'm going to assign this to my next class of AP and regular literature students-- Swede will peak their interests, Davy will hook them in, Jeremiah will make them question, Rosanna will give them reassurance, and Rueben will help them see themselves more clearly. 2. Another Heartwarming Fantasy Novel by T. Kingfisher - “Nettle & Bone” s another heartwarming fantasy novel by T. Kingfisher, which is the pseudonym Ursula Vernon uses for her works for adults. It takes place in a medieval alternate world that features magic, royal houses, and various gods. It’s not clear to me if is this is the same alternative world setting as some of her other fantasies, if so it’s not obvious. This novel begins with a woman known as Marra who is the youngest princess of a small seaside kingdom. Her oldest sister has been sent off in a political marriage to prince of the large and powerful Northern Kingdom. When this sister dies unexpectedly, her middle sister is sent to marry the prince. Marra is sent off to the Convent of Our Lady of Grackles to keep her out of the way. Things begin changing for the worse, and Marra learns some horrible things about the prince. She determines she has to somehow save her sister. She begins a journey seeking a means to do so. She seeks a consultation of the most powerful of the dust-wives, who hold power over the dead. She constructs a dog from bones, and returns it to un-life as part of her tests. She rescues a disgraced warrior from the goblin market. Then she seeks out her own godmother. With this motley band, she sets off to bring down the king of the most powerful kingdom she knows… Once again, Ms. Veron has written a fantasy that has many elements. Certainly, there are are some horrific things going on in this story, but it is also a romance, and a work of high fantasy. It’s a uplifting novel, which has warm characters, dry humor, and a positive outlook. This seems to be true of most of her fantasies, and I like the recipe!

3. Beautiful Fairy Tale - This was wonderful! A valiant quest meets a princess meets an undoable task meets a dust-wife. Marra, youngest of three princesses, is not good at being a princess. The machinations of her parents and family are confusing to her and she would rather embroider. She becomes a ward in a convent as surety for her kingdom as her two sisters are married to a larger kingdom’s prince, one after the other ala Henry VIII. Marra discovers her sister’s mistreatment by her husband and is confused why no one will fix an obvious wrong. Thus the story truly begins as Marra seeks help and finds friends in such places as a charnel pit and a goblin fair. Probably aimed for an adult audience, but I believe teens would appreciate the wonder and truth of this tale. A bit graphic with discussion of cannibals, but no worse than a game of HALO.

4. Amazing characters! - I love this book! The characters are so wonderfully real, and their interactions are so vividly complex, I immediately wanted to transplant several of them into my D&D campaign to both fascinate and terrify my player’s characters. This has put the author in my list of “will not hesitate to read anything with this name on it” mental list!

You also get more background on our liffle Fey Queen Jenna. Yes you will want to kick Bodhi’s butt in the beginning but keep reading he will redeem himself. Karsyn is sassy as ever in this book. Once I started reading this I couldn’t put it down until I was finished with it!! You MUST read this book however it’s not a standalone. You really need to read the first books in the series.

1. History of Fire a little disappointing. - Although I liked the previous books in this series, this one was not much of a story. The plot was lacking, it mainly was a lot of descriptive words that didn't mean much to the storyline...if you like to read what a character is thinking every minute about every little detail, then you'll probably like this one. I really want to get to the meat of a story-not just read pages of thoughts. I liked the character, if only he had more substance. And forgetting he had the orb in his pocket that could have totally saved him from a life/death event, was lame. How do you forget something that important? But I finished the book so it wasn't terrible. Hopefully next one is better.

2. . stars - I really loved this book. I love all of the books in this series. Coti and NeNe are a great couple both of them are very strong and have endured a lot in life. Coti has kept NeNe at arms length for months, until something happens and he can no longer deny that she is his mate. NeNe has plans to move away, after all of her close friends pulled away from her months before. She is tired of the life she is living and is ready for a change. Coti is a shifter but he is also “other” and NeNe is a human. Will they be able to bridge their differences to find their HEA? I only wish things would have been explained better about Coti’s family at the end of the book. I also would have liked the conversation with Coti, Lucas and Damien. I felt like I was left hanging in those regards. I highly recommend Elle Boon. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author.

However, Boon needs to develop her writing style to include more than trite phrases, such as, “never letting you go.” The dialogue could and should be deeper and more mature than high school level.

2. Protect and Treasure - Elle boon book Arynn’s Words escape me when finding the right things to say about Elle Boon Iron Wolves book without giving away a lot of key moments.. I love all the books but before this book Xan was my absolute favorite but now this book has stolen my heart.. ok ok I loved them all but you know how sometimes one touches a part of your soul that is locked away for safety.. well this book here dug deep.. Many years ago Arynn’s went out to a club and his wolf just knew he found his mate.. but he didn’t agree %.. Before the end of the night he had her in the back of truck.. things didn’t progress from there except that a couple weeks later he was told the beautiful woman he hooked up with was pregnant with his kid.. her name was Sarah and she gave birth to a beautiful girl named Rebel. Bad things happen left and right that lead Arynn to Sheila, Sarah’s sister.. she needs him and so do the girls Rebel ( his daughter) and Romie (Sheila’s daughter).. he will do anything to protect what is his and he has some serious friends in high places.. you will get to encounter Kellen the Alpha and the fey Queen Jenna her mates and HELLO Hellboy creed and many more... this book is slammed packed.. not one to miss..

3. Recommended - I really enjoyed Arynn and Sheila’s story. There was a lot going on with the Dark Fae in this one. Sheila calls Arynn after years because something is going on with the daughter he never got to know. He goes to them immediately and he finds them in need of some help so they all go back to the Iron Wolves. It was very sweet the way Arynn was with both girls and Sheila. I also enjoyed the fact that Jenna, Damien, Lucas, Lula and Creed came to help. Of course there were a lot of Iron Wolves coming and going as well. I would recommend you read this series and anything by Elle Boon really. I have enjoyed everything I have read by her.

Spectacular, Fantastic, Must Read - Arynn's Chosen Mate: Bad Alpha Dads Iron Wolves MC Book by Elle Boon Excuse me while I pour out my feelings for a minute, I absolutely love the world of Iron Wolves that Elle Boon has created and every single one of her characters is so captivating, exciting and fantastic. OMG! She can put in so much humor and blazing hot scenes into each book with warmth and romance plus she still manages to insert the magical elements with satisfying human conflicts. The Iron Wolves MC Book is a phenomenal read, but Elle has written a world-building story that is more Fantastic its so awesome I think it should be found in Paranormal and Fantasy genre her books fits both. This series is awesome for both Fantasy and Paranormal readers that likes to put a toe into the mystery pool, but I would urge any reader to give this series a try. Reading these books will make you feel like a great coming home to good friends and family and I am always excited about every visit Elle can give us. All the characters are wonderful, exciting and lovable, what I enjoy about them is that their best trait is that you can relate to them so easily. Readers can understand what Arynn is feeling about Sheila actions that makes them so believable with the ring truth. I enjoy the relationship that Sheila has with her daughters and how each one has their own individual strengths. I am happy to see the development between Arynn and his daughters and I enjoyed learning more about Arynn powers as well. Sheila also come into her powers, but I like that she also receives some much-needed knowledge and understanding as well about her mother and twin sister. Their mate bond is finally free but I understand how emotional this can be , but they are still strong at the end. Now on to my most favorite fey Jenna. She is still a badss Fey now her babies are sure to make for an exciting story to tell. Now I really really enjoyed the mythological aspects of this book and appreciated the depth that it brought to Iron Wolves MC magical community. The twist with Arynn and Sheila is incorporated so well and I liked the way the story brings the relationship between Jenna and her mates into the story. There is drama, mystery and suspense. But the laughter and tension is still high until the end and I enjoyed every moment as their relationship unfolds. I enjoyed Lula and I know she is going to become a force to be reckoned with and I cannot wait to watch her get there. I don't know how many more books Elle is going to write in this series, but I’m so keeping my fingers crossed that we end up getting a lot more in this series. But I will end this review with this Elle Boon Books have brought more laughter and joy into my life. I realize that this Fantasy but I will encourage you that if you need some Laughter and fun to take your mind off things that you can't control, pick this book Arynn's Chosen Mate: Bad Alpha Dads, Iron Wolves MC Book for few hours of laughter and joy to escape even if for a little while. As the saying goes a Laugh or two a day will give you a long and happy life. Thanks to Elle Boon for bringing such LAUGHTER AND JOY INTO MY LIFE with a book. This is a phenomenal read and I highly recommend it!

1. Recommended - This is an enjoyable and different take on Greek mythology. Selena has always been different, but in her wildest imaginings she couldn’t guess why. Max and Malcom have been searching the earth for many years looking for a goddess stolen at birth. They have just about given up hope of finding her and also finding the woman who would complete them. Now an old foe has returned and they must protect Selena and the humans from him. Will they all survive the coming battle and find their fated? I really loved the Ravens of War and look forward to the story’s of the remaining ten.

2. Mythology with an Elle Boon twist - Serena is sassy, stubborn and special. Max & Malcom, the twins, are alpha, possessive and demanding. And they all have a great sense of humor, which is awesome. I love this twist on Greek Mythology by Elle Boon. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. The characters are great, the story kept me interested, and I just had to keep going to see what happened next. You really need to read this! Can’t wait for the next in the series!!

1. Recommended - This story is one that I as a reader have been waiting for. If you have read any of the shifter books by Elle Boon you have met Lula. She is a crazy pink dragon who finds herself mated to a pair of grizzly shifters. With a hidden past that is barreling back toward them, will they have to fight for their newfound bond or are things different then they seem? Things moved very fast in this story, but I enjoyed the journey.
