1. Words can’t express - These books have been an escape for me. The pacing is so wonderfully fun, it’s easy to get lost in them. The series becomes more poignant moving through, culminating in the Deathly Hallows, which was a powerful experience finishing. I think each book offers something unique, a distinct vibe, and collectively, an epic story that made my life better.
Thanks for the ‘Love’ JK:)

2. The magic world - As I have watch the movies many times my parents always said there was more details on the books than the movies so I read the Harry Potter books I was into the world of wonder, the magical world has some more details on like in the movies better but also that the details are important there are more details in the books and there are exciting actions in the movies.

3. Best of my generation! - This story of a young boy, captive in a world of no magic since his parent’s death and aunt’s adoption, grew on me fantastically quick and charmed a hold on my attention wonderfully strong; that hasn’t happened to me since I was reading The Hobbit for the first time. Amazing story!

4. GREAT!! - I just read the complete Harry Potter collection since my niece asked me to and I was very happy I did. While I knew all of the plot since I have seen the movies multiple times I knew what was doing but the book offers so much detail than the movies, as usual with books vs movies, that it never got boring. I would highly recommend this book series if you haven’t read it yet, I was very late to the party but am glad that I finally joined it.

5. Loved it!! - The books were amazing, I have the physical book. And while reading I felt like I was actually there, living the lives of the characters! The movies were also amazing, but I recommend reading the books to really understand more fully. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who is getting back into Reading/Wants a book they can get into. (If you would like to read the first book free, check the sample!)
Extra: I have seen one star/two star reviews just because it costs $. And some say it should be free/a dollar
Well I have to combat that by saying, Harry Potter is a enterprise that millions of people love even today.
People are still reading the books, still watching the movies, etc.
So, tell me. If you had a million dollar idea and turned it into a book/movie that millions enjoy today. Would you sell your work for free? Think about that.

6. Worlds biggest fan - I had the books when I was younger but they were stolen when my house got robbed and ever since then I’ve always been a fan because it’s a different world that I always wish that I could’ve been apart of. I was days old when the first movie came out. I’m team RAVENCLAW all the way and not only has the series helped me with what happened that day my house got robbed but it always seems to lighten my mood because as all Harry Potter fans know, light can always be found in the darkest of places, if one remembers to turn on the light

7. Best series ever!!!!!!!! - This is the best series ever!!!!!!!!!!!! I love jk Rowling and Harry Potter is something that you can easily fall in love with. When I first got the book I wasn’t too excited to read it but it was amazing. There are just so many details that make it something that you would want to read all your life. I’ve read a lot of reviews saying that the collection is way too expensive and a waste of money but it’s a great deal. Seven books for bucks is less than dollars per book which is extremely cheap. Plus it’s also the best series ever created so you’re getting a steal with this collection. I’ve read Harry Potter a few times and I love every second of it. I started reading this when I was around or and I loved it. What I love about this series is that you can read it at any age and won’t get bored or tired with it. Best books ever /

8. ReviewKing - ReviewKing here I… I… I just have to say that this is the best series ever right now for me. It is just extraordinary that single brain created all of this wonderful world for millions of people. That brain belongs to none other than JK Rowling. She created this big fantasy for everyone. When I was reading the Harry Potter series I felt like I was at Hogwarts living Harry’s life. So I am happy to say that Harry Potter has won my best book award!

9. I’m in love!!!! - When I was younger, my dad had been nagging me about reading Harry Potter. I was only at the time and the books looked really long. My dad gave me the first book and made me read it. I was bored the first couple chapters (Mostly because I was mad of my dad) but soon really started to enjoy. Soon I begged my dad for the nd book. He was thrilled and we watched the first movie together. Than after I read the second book we watched the next movie and so on. I can’t tell you how many times I have re-read these books. I love all of the amazing characters and I am hoping for more!!!!! Stay awesome!!!!

10. Stop complaining about the price - For those complaining about the price less than $ is not at all expense, as most books these days sell for $ a book. So basically you are getting all books for $ so by complaining all you are saying is you want something for free. Something that a person took years out of her life to write. I’m an author as well and I know I like to write but I don’t want to sell a page book for a dollar. It would be a waste of my time.
2021-06-13
11. It’s ok - I’ve never personally read the books but my family has and they said they are amazing books. When I first saw how much it is I was like wow the a lot for some books, but when you think of it it actually cheaper this way. Now yes not by much but I know that I’m going to buy it soon so I can talk to them about it and I mean it’s just a little bit of money.

1. Not impressed at all - I am an avid Clive Cussler fan,but I am utterly disappointed in certain information included in this book. There is misinformation spread about the Armenians, Azeri Turks and Turks from Turkiye. I expected him to do better. Having read all of his published books, I could not help but voice my disdain.

2. Needs polishing - The first Oregon File novel I didn’t finish the same day I started it. Poor editing had me worried but honestly the writing just isn’t the same. The dialogue between the characters almost feels forced at times, & the conversational flow has taken a new direction compared to the rest of the series. Hope the next book has a better polish to it.

1. Stuart please stop - By far the worst, shortest, dumbest stone Harrington plot I e ever read. I can’t even describe how dumb and so far from reality the plot is. I didn’t even finish the book. Stuart, you are awesome but please hang it up. The last few are pitiful and no reflection of your talent.
2022-12-21
2. Distant Thunder - Poorly written and worst Stuart Woods book someone has written to date. He diminished every character that you enjoyed reading about in past books. Stone Barrington was a whining fool in this book. Save your money and wait for author to start writing exciting stories. So so disappointed……..

1. Radiant Angel. Nelson DeMille - John Corey a retired NYPD Homicide Detective, also has worked with the Feds Anti Terrorist Task Force and now The Diplomatic Surveillance Group. A boring job he had to take in lieu of being terminated. He has a problem with following the rules, dosen’t get along well with Muslims he encounters on the job and follows his own rules. He and his temporary partnerTess a Federal Agent are trying to prevent a nuclear device being detonated in the New York. Harbor by a Russian colonel masquerading as a Russian Embassy official. An excellent read!! enjoyed immensely!!

2. Seriously? - I picked up the Lion’s Game at a garage sale, then fell in love with the JC series. But now there’s...this? After reading, it seems like DeMille was pressured by his publisher to crank out a book ASAP. He delivered to the publisher, sure, but not to the public. A great story if read on its own, but a slap in the face to anyone who has read even one book from the John Corey series. Hopefully he will turn things around in the next installment, but if not at least it was fun while it lasted. Yikes.

3. Radiant Angel - Good book, hard to put down. I'm no expert, but I found the end a little predictable but it was fun reading how the lead character pulled it off. I also thought character development was shallow in this book compared to those in the past. Within John Corey's universe, quite a bit of time passed since the last novel with only a brief explanation on what happened that weakly segues into the new story. And finally there is less closure at the end concerning Corey's personal life. What is happening with him, his marriage? What's next? Lots of loose ends left hanging. Almost like the author rushed to reach the end without caring about the flow of the story to the reader. I expect another John Corey novel should be coming soon to fill in all of those blanks. Maybe it won't be something so obvious and predictable.

4. What a let down - I have followed this series and up to this point, the reads were incredible. Radiant Angel- What a let down- Spoiler: Removing Kate from the story was a disaster. She was a counter protagonist that let the readers into see into character John Corey. Sort of the Ying to his Yang. If Nelson reads these, he should rethink the direction.
2016-08-01
5. Could have been better! - John is a great character. This book did not highlight his potential. It was a good story but just not in depth enough to warrant the length of the book. The ending was completely rushed and only two pages dedicated to John and Kate's marriage! Really! I hope John's next story redeems itself.
2016-07-08
6. More credit - I was hesitant to buy this book after reading the reviews, but decided to give it a shot. I've read all the John Corey books and I thought this was a good story. Not as in-depth as the past books as far as background and length, but it was a fun read. I'm not giving it -stars because of how much of a main character Kate was in the other books and it does seem like she was just cheaply removed but hey, maybe these reviews will bring her back ;)

7. Another John Corey page-turner - A story filled with suspense. John Corey, a predictable character as to knowing he will always do the opposite of what he is told to do. Yet, he is patriotic and a hero in every sense of the word. Radiant Angel, like all DeMille stories is a page-turner. I sure hope he continues his Corey series. I will keep a close watch.
2016-01-10
8. John Corey Returns! - John Corey is one of my all time favorite characters, and I am always so excited to read a new book about him. While I don't think I could ever dislike a book with him in it, I hate to say that this is definitely my least favorite of the series. It seemed short, rather shallow, and didn't have the feel of the other Corey books. I really missed the relationship between John and Kate. More even than the romantic relationship between them, I have loved their banter. Kate handles John and his adorably obnoxious comments so adroitly. They make a great team, and it didn't feel right without her. The new female who was added to the story seemed a poor substitute for her. I kept wondering why move Kate out of the story just to move in someone who seems a shadow of what Kate was to the books. I didn't see that she added any value to the series. It also seemed very odd to have ended the last book with everything great between John and Kate and then have their relationship totally broken apart at the beginning of this one. My favorite part of the John Corey books is the humor that Corey's behavior brings to the story. Most of that was missing from this book. I hope that the next book in the series will have more of a feel of the rest of the series instead of being like this one. Even though I didn't enjoy this book nearly as much as the others in the series, it is still a must read for John Corey fans. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC in return for an honest review.

9. Review - I agree with Tammy, detective Corey is a terrific character and this was a very good book. I was however terribly disappointed by the ending in his personal life and how it was handled so casually by Mr. DeMille. You remain my favorite fiction writer but my sense of disappointment is palpable. Like Tammy i can only give Radiant Angel stars and do so with a heavy heart.

10. Radiant Angel - Dreadful! I have read everything from his wonderful, beautifully written Word of Honor to his Delightful Gold Coast. This book was a waste of time and money. I cannot believe the same man and team put this together. We deserve a refund. Go back to you basic talent or you will lose a lot of us.
2015-07-02
11. Scary!! - I have read all DeMille books and loved every one. That is the good news and also the bad news. He isn't a writer that pops out a novel every couple of months so now I have to wait until the next DeMille novel is released. Radiant Angel is a great read but will leave you wondering How did this story come to be? Was it just DeMille's vivid imagination that put together a very realistic and scary novel or did one of his many police contacts mistakenly drop some classified information over drinks one night? Either way this book will make you think that we now live in a very crazy world.

12. Disappointing effort - I'm a huge Demille fan. Read all of his stuff. This was highly disappointing with a cliche plot and predictable outcome. It feels as though the author was trying to stretch the book to an acceptable length. The middle chapters dragged and could have been wrapped up much sooner but then he would have had to write something interesting.
2015-06-14
13. Worst DeMille ever - Loved all of his earlier books. His more recent book have been at least interesting and enjoyable. This book however is awful. Not enjoyable. Each page was painful. The plot is thin. The characters are cliches and not realistic. The whole premise is at best ridiculous. If Nelson DeMille is reading this I hope he takes it to heart when he writes his next book. This one was just called in. The one star should really be no stars.
2015-06-06
14. Disappointed - I’ve read all of DeMille’s John Corey books except The Panther. A good editor could take out the redundancies and cut the book by at least %. A trite example: one of the bad guys is walking around killing people on a boat. He wrapped a bar towel around his submachine gun, then a few pages later he found a larger towel to wrap around his machine gun. If you’re still reading a few pages later you will be astonished to learn that he has now found a pillowcase to wrap around his machine gun. I really hate to pay $. for a book and skim much of it.
2015-06-01
15. Great read! - I thought this was a great John Corey book except (warning: spoilers) his personal life. I gave it four stars and would have given five but Mr. DeMille (and this is not the first time) failed to give adequate back story regarding John and Kate. I guess they split as effortlessly and unemotionally as they got together so maybe that makes sense... Still, I liked them together and thought she did a good job of seeing the best in him and being (mostly) at peace with the rest. Unfortunately, she ended up as (apparently) inconvenient baggage. Again, so I end on a positive note, because the book was very good, I recommend it and enjoyed it - lots of fun Corey dialogue and a great story.
2015-05-30
16. Boring Waste of Time & Money - DeMille once wrote some good books. This is not one of them. Redundant boring dialogue had me skimming through page after page looking for anything interesting. The evil genius nonchalantly walks through two chapters killing unarmed people in boring, redundant detail, reminding us of the plot line over and over again. It's as if the author had to keep reminding himself, though I don't know why... It couldn't be more simplistic. Don't waste your time or money on this book.
2015-05-30
17. stars is giving it something. - I've read everything The author has written. There was a time when no author could outdo his writing. But, as far as I'm concerned that all changed with / and his book about the TWA disaster. All he's written since is Corey - the all rolled into Don Rickles, the Lone Ranger and Delta Force - zeroing in on the bad guy. The current book is a step down from the usual mediocre tale. About % of this book, is dialogue and action by the main crazies without Corey's involvement. Save your money on this one.

1. A great read! - Before I watched the series I wanted to wrap myself into the book to then compare the two. The book is beautifully written, with many quotes I was able to highlight and hopefully remember. I loved immersing myself into a culture so different from mine. It’s long, but a book worth the time.

2. Shantaram - Shantaram shows that we are all part of something much greater than ourselves, part of something that came before and will be, after our time. The author does not shy away from the tragedy of our mortality, and embraces the transcendence of duty, honor, and love. I dare say, this book, more than any I have read, resonates with the experience and wonder of a psychedelic excursion. This book should be read…

3. HANDS DOWN a masterpiece - The Best best part about this fantastic and magical story of love, laughter, humility, and fear, isn’t that it’s so grippingly realistic thanks to it’s being based on the realities of this incredible Husband, Father, Mobster, Doctor, Herion Addict, Author, Escapee, and storyteller the best part is this book that is that is nothing but a normal guy who got really mixed up with the wrong set of people and. In turn his life got. Flipped turned upside down. However the old saying you’ll...laugh, you’ll.....cry, and yet to the very day in my life I have have yet to enjoy reading pages more then I did these. bravo to the Author and storyteller, why Steven Spielberg has yet to easily turn this into an Oscar winning performance is beyond my understanding! READ THIS BOOK NOW YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT AND IT WILL CHANGE WHO YOU ARE AT THE CORE AS A HUNAN BEING. Enough said! Enjoy I know you will!

4. A cultural journey - Shantaram was an amazing journey through foreign lands I'd never have thought I'd learn of. It's rich in detail and characters and culture, and despite what felt like a lack of "plot", the journey was tumultuous and fascinating. I learned a lot, and I feel as though my eyes were opened to a part of the world whose society and culture was so lovingly captured by the author. A long read, but worth it.

5. Fabulous isn't good enough! - This by far is one of the best books I have ever read! Intelligent, consuming, it will take over your life and you will want to start again from the beginning as soon as you finish it! I only wish that the author would write more! Thank for this book and all it's wisdom! I want to memorize so much of it!

6. Good long read - I started reading this book while I was in the hospital having been diagnosed with leukemia - one of my few reposes during that time were the books that had been provided by generous people to the hospital's library - while I read it then it took me to an amazing world brought to life in words - and one I'll not soon forget having finally bought the book online
2012-07-28
7. The Best Ever! - I used to think that "The Fountainhead"was the best book I would have read ever......but it was only till "Shantaram". The fact that it's non-fiction makes it even more incredible but on second thoughts,no sane mind with the most vivid imagination could have imagined this insane journey. An experience of a lifetime to be cherished while it lasts because when it's over, you will be convinced that you will never have such a reading experience in your lifetime again!

8. Shantaram - This is one of the best novels I have read in a very long time. It was a definite page turner that I went to bed at night reading and woke up with it in the morning. Gregory David Roberts is a master of the written word and an expert at drawing you into the heart and soul of his characters. This book should be on the top of everyone's list of books to read. I am hungry for something else of his to read.

9. Marvelous, frightening, beautiful... if a bit long winded - What makes this exploding kaleidoscope of a book extraordinary, are the evocations of life and beauty in the wretched vastness of the Mumbai slums. So much humanity, sweetness, hope, courage in the face of endless poverty, with story after story unfolding in a cornucopia of heart-stopping surprises. Yes, there are sticky-sweet love affairs, and gun battles, and far too many fights, and philosophizing, but under all that is a uniquely beautiful story created by a powerful, if damaged, heart, seeking its salvation, renewal and forgiveness , hopelessly in love, most of all with India and its teeming city by the sea.
2012-02-16
10. Shantaram - what a read, what an engrossing adventure. the author whisks us far far away to the magical land of Bombay. It is there we learn to love a cast of characters who are bigger than life. This tome has everything to keep us glued to the page, and when we finally close the book we still see the crowds, hear the noise, the feel the joys, and the sorrows. Roberts provides us with a deep look into the souls of men, their struggles for this one chance they call life in a exotic land. stars.

11. Shantarimjob - It's a novel people, not a true story. I hate these holiday books. This was a massive piece of wank. Would rather read pages of peoples different out office email auto replies. (a low involvement hobby I invented) I felt dumber upon it's completion. People who liked this book also liked The Secret.

1. A good western read - Although this book was quite a quick read, it only cost cents, and I enjoyed the characters, especially, of course, William Tell Sackett, the title character. Badassery all around, and I do enjoy reading about times when folks were tough and hard-as-nails. The next books in the series are around $, and too much, especially for such short books. I’ll wait for a sale.

1. Seriously? - Just about every American woman Stone comes across just happens to be from a small town in Georgia- Delano. Is it just plain laziness, or a bad inside joke? Even though NYC has thousands of restaurants, it’s amazing how Stone always happens to pick the same one as his nemesis. The characters are all paper thin and speak with the same voice. Instead of writing seven bad books a year, how about just one where you put in a little effort? Or is it all just a craven money grab, readers be damned?

1. Nice historical novel - I really enjoy these sorts of historical novels - especially novels about Naval history. I wish that the author would have included a glossary of terms and phrases with this book at I was not familiar with many of the nautical terms, historical slang, and “common knowledge” references that were used throughout. I was also somewhat disappointed with the lack of a coherent plot. As the book moves from mission to mission, the author introduces characters & concepts that seem to knit together a larger story, but that is never achieved. Most disappointing is the ending which wraps up JA’s last mission, but fails to address the book as a whole. We’re not even left with a cliffhanger! Those points aside, the book was a fun read, filled with lots of action & adventure. I’ll certainly be reading more in the series!

2. Master and Commander - A gripping tale of the British naval life as told from the exploits of a young captain and his companion the doctor. Live that life of hardship and adventure in the beginning of the seventeenth century told by a master storyteller blending truly human characters with the starkest realism of the navy with sail and gunpowder at war. An engrossing page turner with more to come. Better each reread.

3. Words or Less - As a fan of the movie (Am I supposed to admit something like that?), I was curious about the novel. So I picked this up. A handful of parts were well done, but overall I found much of the writing to be lacking in so many ways. It seemed unfocused, with the characters and plot sort of hodgepodge – do I really care about the intrigue of the captain’s promotion or the division of the war spoils? The additional pages of ship-sailing explanation made the whole mess come to a grinding halt. Extremely disappointing.

4. Disappointment at the price - I am a huge fan of the series, and I go back and re-read them every few years- they never get old. I would love to also have the books in digital form, but cannot bring myself to pay full price all over again for the convenience. Please issue the full set of books at a discounted price! The books are available in paper form as a set, why not the electronic versions? You might tempt those of us who already own the paper copies.

5. One of the best writers in the English language - The Aubrey Maturin series is one of the great accomplishments in English letters. O'Brian brings together a mastery of the era and of language into an epic exploration of friendship and loyalty. I am thrilled to see them finally in the iBook store. One warning. These can be incredibly addictive. Once you begin to read them, you won't want to stop. There are three authors I will read again and again: O'Brian, Austen, and Terry Pratchett. O'Brian is the better writer.

1. You MUST read this book! - I really like dystopian books and shows and such.. and when I saw they were making this into a show I thought I better read it first!! I am so glad I did!! I devoured this book in a week!! Mom of kids and a full time job… so that’s saying something!! I love the characters and the storyline is a definite thriller! The first character died and I was sucked right in but when the next one died and then the next… I couldn’t stop turning pages. It’s a little murder mystery added to the thrill! The writing style leaves you wondering more and more about the characters and the world they live in that you can’t help but keep reading. Best book I’ve read in a long time.

2. Perfect in Every Way - This dystopian tale is perfectly paced, a world perfectly revealed, a perfect expression of human kindness and tragedy, perfectly dysfunctional. The pages didn’t flip fast enough with a new intrigue and adventure always a chapter away. The story is dark and heavy, but always leaves room for hope and a reason for optimism. The characters live in a microcosm of societal fatalism, but with enough light pushing in to allow the weeds of humanism to take root. I can’t wait to jump into the next!

1. The Marauder - Juan Carrillo and the crew of the Oregon on a fast paced mission before the New Oregon is completely renovated and christened ! Boyd Morrison and Clive have kept all of the exciting elements of a Corporation assignment at sea, intact. After the devastation of the last mission, we see new positivity, new characters and more developed, complex characters we know and love. Besides updating the technical marine and military workings of this mercenary group with morals, I love the touch of archeology and history present in this series. The authors incite a curiosity to learn more about historical maritime events. While staying up to date with the spy gadgetry and current story lines, Boyd now has the helm for this crew of characters who are richening, not stagnating in this series! Creative!
We will miss Clive’s delicious influence and experience.

1. Never change peeves. - Continuing from the first book the second book in this series sheds light on more characters and certain subjects. Such as a certain pictures back ground, fudge and his successor weren’t the only idiots who served minster, making me loath a certain witch more (didn’t think it was possible), and the horror of the most infamous wizard prison.

2. Pretty good - Hey everyone, how are you? I wanted to rate this book for you. It is a pretty good book, I really liked it, however, I cannot give it stars. The reason is it really focuses on super unimportant topics, for example, cauldrons. Plus, does it REALLY have to name ALL of the minister of Magic’s? But there are some brilliant pros. It gives you good info that you don’t get in the books. Also, it is is very fun to read and I recommend it, just remember stars, not

3. Well Done - If you are a Harry Potter fan, this book is a must have. It includes the secret pasts of the villains in the series including Umbridge, Quirrel, and even Peeves the poltergeist. It discusses potions and their history such as the most famous, polyjuice potion. It also has exclusive insights from Rowling on how she created these great characters and potions. Overall, I am very pleased, and am getting the other two potter more books very soon.

4. Fine Writing - This is fine writing by Mrs. Rowling. It is always entertaining and welcomed to learn a little more about the characters on Harry Potter series. This time we learn about, mostly, about a despised one (Umbridge), a distinguished one (Slughorn), one that went over his head almost literally (Quirell), and one character that, unless you have read the books instead of just relying on the movies, we knew very little about except for his mischievousness (Pieves the poltergeist). I must point out, though, that it is not her best but, any insight into the Wizarding World is always welcomed reading and any fan of Harry Potter, of which I'm one of them at the young age of , will enjoy.

1. A very complete and reliable history of hogwarts. - An amazing book giving great details of hogwarts, its denizens, and something i wished i never read, if you know, you know. But after reading this trilogy i pray that one day these will be given physical releases so the rest of the world can enjoy these stories as i have.

3. Pottermore coolection - This series is very short, so dont expect to get more than a few hours of reading across the whole series for your dollars. But if you're a diehard (borderline-psycho) Potter fan its probably a worthwhile read. Rowling's commentaries have a few fun points. I loved learning that there is now a baggage trolley half-embedded in a ticket barrier at King's Cross station! The biographies for Professor McGonagall and Remus Lupin in first installment had what I felt was the most original content and were my favorites of the books.

1. Captivating! Loved it! - .-stars I could not wait to see how this story would end and was excited when His landed on my Kindle. Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli are amazing authors on their own and yet together, they blew me away. There is danger everywhere, but Lev knows he wants Kat and his child in his life. But what does that means to his life? He is to protect his “family” above all, but now he has a more personal family. Who can they trust? The chemistry between Lev and Kat is undeniable and intense. He is all alpha and protector. Kat has to make choices, but Lev will not let them go. The story was steamy and full of suspense and I loved it. Could not stop reading it.

3. His is a fabulous ending to a well written duet - This book, entitled His, is the second part of a duet. The first book is named Mine. Together they are called The Ties that Bind. Now, let me say at the outset that the two authors of this duet have long been favorites of mine. I first discovered Natasha Knight in her Benedetti Crime Family series (incredible writing), and I found Ashleigh Zavarelli through her Boston Underworld series (another incredible series of books). Imagine my happiness at finding out that these two powerhouse authors worked together! Wow... and I wasn’t in the least bit disappointed. They can weave wonderful stories on their own and together they created a fascinating world, peopled by believable characters and a plot so well devised, so well written, that I found myself completely engrossed in this story. Lev and Kat, along with Josh, Gleb, Maxim and a few others take the reader on a wild and exciting ride through sometimes very dangerous territories. The villains are truly despicable and frightening, and the plot twists are exceptional in their unexpectedness. This was such a good story. One I hated to see end. This duet will be added to my reread list, that’s for sure. If you enjoy the excitement of mafia romance, if you like some darkness sprinkled in the light, and if you want mysteries being slowly revealed, then this is the story for you. Highly recommended.

1. Long time fan. - Mr Cussler, I have been a long time fan of you books. I have owned hardcooys that are still on my bookshelves today. I own at least more on my apple ibooks. I love all the selections and have the upmost for your writing. With that I will say I gave this book stars the only reason is because you killed the Oregon. She met her final match bravely defending the crew against Mr Tate. All I got to say is you better have another one of the way. Thank you your great stories. Love them.

1. The Teeth of the Tiger - This book is pretty decent. This is not your typical spy verses spy book like the previous books Tom Clancy had done with Jack Ryan. In this book, you begin to follow Jack Ryan’s oldest son, Jack Ryan Jr., as he enters the world of espionage. This book starts out at a pretty fast pace, but quickly comes to a very slow read as you work your way through details involving the behind the scenes work of espionage of the modern age, computers. However, as hard as it is to make it through all the day to day life of an analyst reviewing emails from the target group, Tom Clancy spins it around so that Jack Jr. goes into the field to assist the agents with up to date information and even finishes the job that they can not.

2. Clearly ghostwritten - This was clearly ghostwritten by a lesser author. The book lacks all the hallmarks of a real Clancy novel. The characters are shallow--there's no effort to understand the enemy or know his mind. And the technobabble is laughable. A Dell laptop with firewire, are you joking? It's like a grab bag of tech filler. Normally I give my used books to a friend but I threw this one away to make sure no one accidentally read it.

3. To call this book "wretched" would be overly kind - Seriously, one of the worst books I've ever read. Incredibly sloppy writing, poorly edited, trite, predictable... A complete insult to readers. Think I'm overstating things? Try this sentence (which begins a chapter) on for size: "The sun rose promptly at dawn." Think about the profound stupidity embodied that simple collection of six words. OF COURSE the sun rose at dawn - when else would it rise? That's what makes it dawn, Mr. Clancy: the sun rises. I'm not cherry-picking, either. The entire book exemplifies a by-the-numbers, formulaic approach to churning out pages that aren't clever, aren't accurate, aren't remotely worthwhile in any way. As Twinkies are to actual food, so this dreck is to actual writing.
2013-01-27
4. Teeth decay - This book is limited by it's predictable plot and wooden characters. Although they are second generation, the key players have a distinct lack of depth and imagination. The book shows what can happen when an author becomes too commercial and turns to providing , more of the same to his readers. Even the techno in this technothriller lacks any real allure. Worse yet, it ends abruptly, shamelessly pandering for the sequel. Grade D.

1. Not as good as the first - Still amazing though. Would’ve been better if they hadn’t had certain suggestive scenes with Queen Rhin, but the fighting and plot is good. I like how he makes you get attacked to even the villains, before they become villains and all. Good read, hopefully the third will be better regarding family friendliness. I’m cool with cuss words though.

2. A must read for fantasy fans - The second book of the trilogy was fast paced, full of fight scenes and interesting characters. While the themes might not be completely original following similar patterns as other well known fantasy novels it is an enjoyable, fast read. I certainly recommend this book after reading the first in the series.

1. The Jungle - I have been reading Clive Cussler books since I discovered his work many, many years ago. I have enjoyed each and every one but I really became a die hard fan when I discovered the Oregon Files . I have patiently waited for every new book in the series and each time I read the new book and then re-read all of the others in the Oregon Files series. The Jungle, like all of the others became my favorite, and will remain so until I read the next book in the series. The Jungle is a magnificent store and I found it difficult to put it down. I was caught in the conundrum of wanting to read it but not wanting it to end. It is wonderful to immerse yourself into into the world of the crew of the Oregon and to escape reality for awhile. Thank you Juan Cabrillo and crew for the wonderful ride.

2. AMAZING FIRST READ - This is the first of Clive cusslers books that I have ever read and may I say it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. My fiancé didn't like it to much cause as she tried talking to me I ignored and kept reading. That's how good it was. Now that it's over, it's time to apologize to my fiancé for ignoring her haha.

3. the jungle - I always enjoy a good Cussler. The addition of Lawless fills the need for added fire power and speed, and one would suspect guarantees future books which make the future bright. The plot of the supercomputer living and befriending the Oregon crew is also an addition that will probably surface in the future. Juan Cabrillo seems to make rinds whatever their existence. To the Oregon File followers this book has all that you come to expect of Clive, although the influence of du Brul is evident, the ending was lacking and did not have the typical Cussler flair. all in all I would have to give this a / - star rating.

4. The jungle - The book was less than the usual Cussler standard. The style is refreshingly new and how the authors bring it all together was very good. The disappointment came from the characters being less than advertised. They made mistakes that should have gotten them retired in one form or another. The plot got predictable at times. For example when the placement of the computer was discussed and analyzed, the method that was going to be used to destroy it was spelled out as well long before the team said what they were going to do. The ending was a surprise being what happened to the key components that made the type of computer possible.

5. The Jungle - I've only read the Dirk Pitt series, so I was hesitant to try this one. I have enjoyed it very much. It is easy to put down, and pick back up without losing too much. The details are great, the action is page turning. The characters I want to get to know better, so I will be looking for more on The Corporation. Thanks, this was a great read. W Hrncir

6. The Jungle - Cushier ought to write his own books again. This one has too many loose ends, confusing connections, and odd attempts at being modern and relevant by using movie scripts. The US politics pieces sound as if written from satellite level rather than within the oval office. If you enjoy Clive Cussler - re-read one of his first books.

7. Terrible portrayal of Muslims rip off from Hal in - And disrespectful when re.ferrying to the bad guy " I will not meet Allah" in this state in the last chapter. Finally the whole " Hal space odyssey theme " ... Really??? We're in the st century and it's been DONE so many times already ... Couldn't the bad guys have been neo nazis or something running around with iPads??? LOL.... I loved the silent sea but hated this one.
2011-05-24
8. Appropriately Titled - Throw in terrorism, politics, impossible propulsion and a quantum computer that stole lines from an 's sci-fi movie and call it jungle. I used to read all the Dirk Pitt novels back in the eighties but haven't read Cussler in a long time and decided to give it a try. Either I've matured in my expectations or other people just can't recognize poor writing but this book doesn't deserve your money.
2011-04-18
9. The Jungle - This is a classic Cussler. Ever since Dirk Pitt and his escapades Clive has given us the same thrills with new characters and stories. This one was entertaining from the start and kept the pages turning to the exciting finish. As always he left you wanting more and a tease of the continuing saga......
2011-04-18
10. Disappointing - This is my third novel by Clive Cussler in this series and I have to say, it is poorly written. He clearly phoned this one in. I'm only about e-pages into it, but the writing is so amateurish it's at the point of distraction. The characters are there, if not a bit over the top, and the timing is fine. It is in the basics, the story telling itself where things can get so messy, you have to ask yourself, "where was the editor?". I don't buy a Clive Cussler novel expecting Shakespeare, I don't even like Shakespeare, but I expect better than this. For example, the following sentence; "The lighting was either tasteful sconces hanging on the wall or cut-crystal chandeliers.". What? Which is it? Simply eliminating the word "either" and switching out the "or" for an "and" would have made for a much better sentence, instead of the puzzle that the author presents. Also, how about "wall sconces" instead of "sconces hanging on the wall"? If that sounds picky to you, ask yourself, have you ever seen a sconce hanging someplace other than a wall? This sentence is just one example of many that represents inexcusable writing from an experienced author. I want my money back.
2011-04-12
11. Love it - I'm a big Clive fan, but also a big Jack DuBrul fan. This was an excellent combination of both writers skills. I really enjoyed Mercer being worked into the story the way Cussler would put himself in earlier solo books. I think this was the best Oregon series book yet. Please keep them coming!
2011-04-04
12. The Jungle - One of the best Clive Cussler books in the Oregon series. In conjunction with one of his writing partners, Mr Cussler's cast of characters, the Oregon's crew, has matured into a very interesting and complimentary group, which interact like a large functional family. The bad guys keep the Corporation busy, with plot and subplots, in The Jungle. The storyline is Fast moving and gripping which makes it difficult to put this book down.

1. It’s a decent read - I went a very long time without reading novels. After seeing this at my local gas station i decided i wanted to get back into reading. While this book has compelled me to read more great Cussler novels, this one is a decent read. The wrtting style was simplistic and sometimes felt rushed. The enemies were very incompent and dumb. I found it hard to beleive they could find so many random people willing to take risk to help the Fargos out. But I should still thank Cussler and Perry because I think I needed simpicity to get back into reading novels. It’s still worth checking out, but it’s not going to be much of a page turner, until you reach the end.

2. The Tombs - Good plot. I was disappointed the way Remi was portrayed. There were times when She came across as a wimp, needed a man to take care of her and save her as a damsel in distress. Then came across as other times as strong as a bullfighter. Other books I have read with Sam and Remi have shown them as pretty equal. This did not and it took away from their characters.

3. disappointing - I've not read Cussler in many years and I don't recall them being as silly as this. I was amazed at how off the charts unrealistic this is. I sure wish we had a bridge here. Hang on a sec, I may have one in my back back. Thanks goodness dear, I was afraid we might not escape this. elementary school boy read.

4. A Dirk Pitt plot without the cool guy - Cussler used to write great escapist fiction for men. The Fargo series uses some of the old elements of his highly successful Dirk Pitt series, and borrows the plots from the recent treasure hunter movies that seem to have inspired this series. It might have worked if the two people he chose to be his protagonists weren't so annoying. First, they're rich....too rich. Everything they need is one swipe of a card away. They stay in the best hotels, dine at the best restaurants, and at night they dig up treasures that nobody else has been able to find for a thousand years. All the while, they show all the depth of an index card. No character flaws, no deep conversations, no hesitation to run straight into obvious dangers. Seriously, comic books flesh out deeper characters than these two. Also, by havng the couple hopping from one burial site to the next, it just creates a lot of little boring treasure hunts instead of one interessting hunt. There was a point near the end where the action picked up and I was actually interested, but then the author resolved it a little too neatly for my taste. At least the latest ghost writer didn't spend every chapter trying to sell me an iPhone or other Apple product.
2012-11-12
5. not top secret - It was a typical Cussler read - entertaining but not great. The description says something about a top secret historical find, which is completely inaccurate. Anything rated "top secret", or the like, would have to be done so by some government agency and there were none involved in this book in that context.
2012-09-30
6. not worth reading - i was a fan of the first couple of Fargo books. this installment was very disappointing. The premise had great possibilities, but the plot execution was poor. Shame on you Clive Cussler for allowing this to go to print with the stilted dialog and anticlimactic discovery of the treasures. at least bring back Grant Blackwood as co-author, the writing and anticipation of events would be at a higher quality level. i'm done with these books if the current partnership continues.

1. Not Patrick O’Brian. But an OK read - Just finished reading the Aubrey Maturin by Patrick O’Brian, and was searching for another book about military history during the Napoleonic wars. I did get through the book, which did hold my interest throughout. That said, this author is not in the same league as Mr. O’Brian. Not as literate. Not as well researched. Not erudite. Lots of gaps and holes in the story. Perhaps I hold too high a standard here.

2. An Excellent Read! - If you have any interest in Historical Fiction, or just great stories, take the time to read this book and the other Sharpe installments. 1. Havana Storm - I absolutely love Clive Cussler; but unfortunately, Havana Storm was quite a disappointment. The writing just seems sloppy. 1. Don't waste your $. - I can guarantee you that this book is not a New York Times bestseller. It would appear that Woods is doing nothing but publishing novels about every to months and these last two novels are far and away some of the worst he's ever written, particularly this one, that is if he's writing them. If my counting is correct, beginning with Stone going to college, law school, graduating at age approximately years old, years as a policeman, makes him , two or three years dating Arrington, , who moved to Hollywood and gets married, nine months of pregnancy, Peter is born goes to Yale gets out goes back to Hollywood probably aged - years, and this puts Stone in his mid 's. Then add a few more years in between adventures and drinking probably a gallons or more of knob Creek, eating out every night, and screwing everything that walks, and by now, Stone should be a year old diabetic, dying of aids or alcoholism, and weighing over pounds.

2. Excuse me - I was certainly disappointed with the obvious liberal democratic slant to this book, having enjoyed the rest of the books of this series I consider myself a moderate Republican, and feel some disappointment in the obvious slant towards the Obama, Hilary Clinton flavor of this story. Are you part of the liberal media ? Is this really you ?of. can you do better ?

3. Avoid this Book - I loved the early Stone books. Good stories, good dialogue, entertaining characters. Now everyone seems to have become remarkable successes. And have lost the ability to have any, I mean any, emotion in their dialogue. Woods lost me forever with the line "I'd just like to sit here quietly and commune with the spirit of my dead son". What?? Who talks like that? I literally laughed out loud at how bad Woods' dialogue has become. I'll stop reading his books for the same reason I stopped reading any of Clive Cusslers books: commercialism over substance. Too bad. Good bye Mr. Woods.
2015-06-10
4. Not worth anyone's time - Shameless political pandering. Woods, you are a novelist and not a political operative. Detective novels are supposed to be fun for readers. I've read every Stone Barrington novel and loved most. It's hard to overlook your overbearing and absurd leanings in this thin plot. Let's be clear, I don't care about your political views any more than you would like to listen to mine. Since you can't seem to return to the gifted story-teller that you once were, adios to you. Personal politics and pleasure don't mix.

5. Insatiable appetites by Stuart Woods - I could not finish this political stomach turner. I stopped reading it. It is the worst political fabrication of a Stone Barrington book I've ever read. Another author should step in and take over this character and write real stories again. I'm The author is trying to portray Republicans are murderers. Don't waste your time or money on these books. Stop buying them please! When an author goes overboard to this extent....its time say goodbye. Bye Stone Barrington. You used to be an interesting character. Now you are a political wet dream for the author. He has given up a good book for his political sickness. Stuart: you've given up being a good author. You ate a political havk with no interest in your characters. You

6. Junk - Unfortunately, Mr. Woods has sacrificed plot development for political advocacy. The main characters' disdain for evil rich Republicans is made ludicrous by their lifestyle--mansions, private jets, chauffeured Bentley's, etc. What a perfect example of limousine liberal hypocrisy. Add to that a weak, implausible plot an a no ending ending, and you have a piece of literary junk.
2015-02-08
7. Insatiable Appetites - It seems that Mr Woods is more concerned in this book about his disdain for Republicans. I love a good political thriller but this one is so far left that I couldn't even finish it. This was my last Stuart Woods book on liberal writings. Mr Woods does t seem to know that Republicans and conservatives can read as well as liberals.
2015-02-06
8. Stilted Dialogue - The dialogue is so stiff and without any emotion or depth that the characters are wooden. The characters are annoyingly polite to each other. The hellos, thank you's and goodbyes take up so much print space, that descriptive prose and indepth descriptions are incredibly lacking. I used to like Stone Barrington. Now he is boring.

1. Sex, Lies and Serious Money - I have been a fan of Stone Barrington, but over the past few years, I find the stories too convenient. Every client is wealthy, every relative becomes wealthy and there is always another love affair waiting in the wings. Despite that, the story was good but the ending very disappointing. Many questions were left unanswered.
2019-02-07
2. Horrible - Where, oh where did the real Stuart Woods go? You know, the Stuart Woods that used to write the interesting books, the ones that were not predictable. Thank goodness I borrowed this one from my library (and returned it after chapters) because I would be beyond upset if I'd paid actually hard earned money for this. I'd much rather wait - months for a book with substance than this constant drivel.
2017-01-22
3. Sex Lies and Serious Money - This may be one of the worst Stuart Woods books ever published. A real disappointment. Mr. Woods has demonstrated over the years that he knows how to write and construct an exciting story. Neither of those talents is on display here. Perhaps Mr. Woods in his pursuit of building a "Patterson" like brand is wasting his talents on publishing by the pound and ignoring quality.
2016-11-27
4. Is this the author's shopping list? - I used to be a fan of this series but the books are getting worse and worse. This one reads as if it is just a list of things the author wants to buy - names of stores, restaurants, planes, cars... but no story. I may as well just watch Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

5. Stone Barrington Redux--Do Not Buy!! - Do not buy this book! Stuart Woods has run out of stories to tell. I have read all of his books, and the last few lack depth, character development, strength of plot, etc. The first / of this book very boringly walks through the purchases of a newly-wealthy lottery winner, who (of course) happens to end up a client of Stone Barrington. I felt like I was reading someone's (very boring) account of their shopping expeditions. This book was not entertaining in any way, nor was it worth $.. Do not buy this book!!

6. Sex, Lies, and Serious Money - To begin, I have been a huge fan of Stuart Woods. I have every book that he has ever written. In my opinion, is by far the worst book he has written. Most of the book centered around a lottery winner and what he bought with his money. Boring!! Very little plot between two ex-cons trying to get his money. I was certainly disappointed. I believe Stuart Woods is a better writer than this. I will really have to think very hard before spending $ on his next book.
