1. Skynyrd's Last Album Is A Great One. - Released in Lynyrd Skynyrd's added Steve Gaines as the newest member. So now there are three guitarists. With the addition of Gaines the band sounds even better than before. His anazing guitar licks are just awesome. The album is full of great Southern Rock, "That Smell", "You Got That Right", "I Know A Little" and "What's Your Name" all classics. This is Southern Rock at it's best.

1. Lochloosa rocks - I heard the cut "gal youngin" on my way to work one day- i wondered what year old blind black bluesman wrote and sung that masterpiece....I had to find that old song..... imagine my surprise! when i saw a young white guy singing that! in ! JJ plays the harmonica so perfectly, and the whole song sounds like it was made years ago- a tribute to his grandma who grew up on a tobacco tenant farm (sharecroppers!) I was not too sure about some of the other songs- but they grow on you. How jr got his head put in - will grow on you. Dirtfloor cracker is pretty good jam. But Loshloosa is THE song. Not as good IMHO as "gal youngin" - but great harmonica.... lyrics and playing- do yourself a favor and go on youtube and listen to lochloosa in various venues- the crowd jusr has to sing along..... you might too.

1. Great Album - showcasing the lineup that bridged the Duane to the Derek years. Thought that bringing Warren and Allen to the band was brilliance. This album finds Warren and Dickie firing on all cylinders. The third “great” incarnation of the band was yet to come with Derek joining Warren with the double guitar attack. This is not to minimize the influence of Chuck Leavall following Duane and Berry’s untimely deaths. Long live the allman brothers and their progeny. I understand the importance of the Tolers and others. Don’t want to leave anyone out. Thanks for a great run, glad I lived to see and hear it all.

2. A Fantastic Memory. . . - I was at these shows many years ago and can tell you they were the greatest live performances I've every seen in years of concert attendance. . . Almost the entire show is here (Melissa, Southbound, Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad are the only cuts missing) and it is incredible to hear again. Most bands are lucky to have one golden age, ABB really had TWO. The original band, and this lineup. When the show was over, no one wanted to leave. Never been in a crowd that all stood still and gave a minute ovation with the house lights ON!!!!
Also, have to say R.I.P. the great Allen Woody!!!!! Reminder of one of the greatest bassists (and nicest human beings) anyone could have every known. . .

3. The Allman Brothers Band in a peak live performance! - Live at the Fillmore is the ultimate live performance, but this album captures the band at after its reunion at its peak. Having spent three years playing together they are literally on fire. For those like me who have listened to them throughout the years (and not when they broke apart), this version of the band brought us back to reason we were so into them. With Warren Haynes basically taking over for Duane, he smokes and raises the level of Dickey’s playing back to the hey days of the ’s. The solo start to Hoochie Koochie Man raises the hair on you neck. Gregg’s vocals are strong as ever. There are many great versions of old and new songs. The shortened version of You Don’t Love Me is excellent with Dickey playing one of his best solos ever. If you are a fan, this album is a must. If you are Jam Band fan and want to hear a “classic” version of what helped launch the modern Jam sound, then this is for you. If you just like great music and want something new, then buy this album!

4. Special Treat! - Folks, this is a very special tasty treat that comes out at the right time with the band making it's final Beacon Run. Great line-up, great set list, great jams, great sound. You can feel the energy and the excitement in the air with all members firing on all cylinders. A welcome addition to any collection and an abSOULute highest of recommendations. I am thrilled to be going to shows this March as The Allmans come to the end of the road and saddened that next March will have a huge void. Hopefully it will be filled with Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gov't Mule and Gregg Allman and Friends playing at the Beacon for years to come. Enjoy this!!!

5. Goin' to the Wellspring - This is a good set with many satisfying moments. The three acoustic tracks are gems. They feel more connected to their deeper integrity than attempts to recreate their apex of 's Live at the Fillmore East. Would this style of Southern acoustic-rock with rich backing vocals have been a more vibrant path for the Band since the early 's? I would have loved a combination of both styles. We're fortunate to have them in this release.

6. Pick this up. This is really good!! - I have been an ABB fan since the beginning and this CD is one of the best I have heard in a long time. Hearing Tom Doucette on Harmonica is worth the price of admission alone. Also hearing Warren Haynes play slide again is a joy and makes me remember how good he was playing slide. The band is on fire and Greg is in great voice. Dickey is also singing and playing great. What a great tribute in possibly their last year together.

1. Pricing.....! - I wonder if whats left of record companies, and iTunes understand that they are actually missing out on revenue by doing the "ALBUM ONLY" purchase for songs over minutes. Charge ten cents more or something. All I want is two songs off this album, and theyre both over minutes. I can't think of how many times I've run into that frustration. But many bands from the s had a significant amount of material, especially live stuff, that ran over minutes. Doesn't make sense to demand a full album purchase based on that. Money is staring you guys in the face and you won't take it. Typical music industry logic though, you all went to lunch in the s and never came back. Not slamming the ABB... love them... just using this platform to air my greivence.

1. Terrible - Simply a terrible album. This is 's cheese at it's finest. If you're an old school, or even new fan of ABB, please don't even bother listening to anything from this time period. It will only tarnish the amazing image you have in your mind of Gregg Allman from the real band he played in....

2. I'm no angel - Gregg's voice is like no other..period. Theres not any song on here that is unpleasant or uninteresting for that matter. Simpley just a great listen. Being a drummer, and a huge guitar fan I noticed the production of these songs sounded very clean. I think what stuck out most in my mind other than Greggs voice was the guitar leads and the drummer who ever that was. I had never heard of the Dan or David/Frankie Toler, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to fiqure out these brothers and the rest of the band members did a great job. Buy it... you won't be regret it.

1. Some o' ya'll don't get it.... - Gregg Allman could come out with an album Zydeco music and I'd buy it. I think this album jams all over hell's half acre. The tunes are insightful. Island, about his daughter, is very emotional. The solo in it is a thing of raw awe. His vocals are still those that I cut my teeth on as a rock singer. I'm still trying to sound like him but never will. No matter what he sings, he carries it off -- whether straight up blues or the introspection evidenced in a great deal of his solo records. Yes, the tunes are different. Arrangements are jazzy, tasty. Evidence of Love is one of my favorites. Get Angel, Island, Evidence and Demons and you've got gold.

2. Allman Sound? You Gotta Love It! - Ok, just because miles pepper has never got laid (and never will) does not give him the right to diss this incredible musician. The Allman Brothers Band has got to be the best band of all time, and Gregg's Solo work outshines almost anything in the 's. "I'm No Angel" is one of the few good songs to come out of the 's, and what a song it was. This collection is a solid listen, with all the hits, plus Melissa (Live) and a live cover of the Jackson Browne Classic "These Days" you can't go wrong. Power to you Gregg, you're the best.

1. Second Bad Album in a row! Hazelnut; no more. - What happened to the sister hazel I traveled around the US (as a Hazelnut) for the last yrs!? Haven’t traveled to see them for years now. Have done many meet n greets over the years and spent a lot of $$ going to see these guys. So very disappointed with the last two albums. Now a local show going on sale ..and will not even pay $ to see them play this fantastically bad album! WOW, I do hope they find their way back to the fun and energy of years past. Until then, this Hazelnut remains broken; only to wonder what happened to songs like Mandolin Moon, Swan Dive, Sail Away, Thank You, All For You, Happy, Starfish, Change Your Mind and of course.. Feel it. So.. eh, hey ..what a shame!! :(

2. A Different Sister Hazel - I have been a Hazelnut since before I can remember. Their music is a family legacy. I can truly say I miss the music Sister Hazel used to make, and yet, I feel like they’ve found a sound they can build on while still keeping their style. Their style has definitely changed over the years. The last three EPs can surely testify to that. I believe this one is the strongest of them so far, with songwriting and hooks that pay tribute to their older albums. There are certainly gems in Water and Wind, but Fire is a collective triumph of songs where each one stands out powerfully and yet comes together as one familiar sound and memorable album. I did not feel that as much in Wind, and certainly not in Water. And while it was great to hear Drew sing more in the the earlier EPs, I felt like we’d traded that for less of Ryan’s guitar’s solos. I can say that I feel satisfied those problems and every other aspect of this EP. I feel like Fire is the climax of Sister Hazel’s experimentation in country and southern rock before they launch fully into the genre. You could suggest they’ve already done so with Lighter In the Dark, but that felt like more of a test of how they would stand in that genre than an actual ease into the sound. I do agree that Sister Hazel has always been influenced by southern rock, but you can definitely hear the twang, the difference, the twist on country in their own way. Lighter In the Dark was great, but it didn’t feel like Sister Hazel. This does. The sound is recognizable and sweetly familiar, and brings back memories from Fortress & Chasing Daylight. I apologize for such a long review, but I can say it’s been a long time coming. While I miss the rock feel that Sister Hazel has apparently left behind, I can celebrate that they are making a comeback in a new genre and creating something unique while still staying within their sound. I love this band and will continue to love it for as long as I live. They have become a part of me. I have been to several concerts and met the guys once or twice, and I don’t plan to stop going. Thanks for reading. And Sister Hazel? Keep it up. Onward, Hazelnuts!!

3. Finally....back to some original Hazel - After listening to “Fire” it definitely has the sound of the band back off the Fortress album. I remember seeing this band in in Disney, on NYE, and was a stellar show and was hooked. Admittedly, they lost me during the heartland highway and water albums, but for some reason this sounds different. I’m not sure they can top chasing daylight, but I hope they keep this up.

1. If you liked the Allman Brothers... - This is a great and underappreciated album. A cross between the classic and more country Highway Call album and the Allman Brothers sound with which most are familar. A great collection of really good songs executed with signature Betts guitar work. If you are tired of listening to Allman Brothers hits for the umpteenth time, you will find a cashe of songs that you will like every bit as much and maybe even better (Out to Get Me and California Blues are addictive).

1. The Shift That Changed The Allman Brothers - Putting this album into words is difficult for me. It's beauty and color is always remembered for the sadness and the darkness that came from Duane's and Berry's passing. But there is something so soulful and beautiful about The Phoenix rising from the ashes. The Allman Brothers Band were never the same without Duane and Berry, but they adapted and became Icons for musicians of many genres.

1. Another Live One - This one is from a recent box set but was recorded in with Warren Hayes and Derek Trucks on guitars after Betts left or was thrown out. It sounds good and I may get this one. It has some different songs on it than One Way Out which is very good. I wish they had filtered more of the crowd noise out but I am looking for something new by Gregg in memory of him since he just died yesterday. The ABB always sound better live. They are basically a jam band. Uncle Joe's Tunz

1. Perfect For ABB Newbies; Great For Die Hards - A perfect mix for the beginner to understand the complete ABB life span. songs and I counted "iTunes Hearts!" For longitme fans, the mixes and sound levels match. This particularly evident in Epic and beyond years making the entirety a nice desert album listen throughout. hours over discs means no time is wasted (no more." You can hear the band going through changes, for better or worse over years. Warren must have overseen song selection and sequencing. The best of each incarnation is here including includes the "Dickey/Jack" and "Warren/JImmy" transitional lineups. Hell, they even worked in Mountain Jam "single" (lol) coming in at minutes. I counted releases you cannot get elsewhere including the band sites. This is a Trouble No More po-boy; their first demo of "Trouble More" as the bread foundation for years of varied ingedients, topped with with a top french bread slice to their last "Trouble No More" performance replete with farewall announcemnts as "the pickle." 2. ....looking forward to this release! - For those who complain about why is this being released, and say they have everything already, it’s really quite simple, you needn’t complain, just don’t purchase it. For those of us like myself, who really enjoy the Allman Brothers Band, it’s a welcome release we’ll all enjoy. I grew up with this band from their beginning, and have many of their albums, bootlegs, etc., and enjoy every one of them, just as I will this album. To all you Allman fans out there, enjoy!

3. Maybe..... - Maybe some of you have everything the Allman’s have released but for someone that is just discovering this incredible band and their journey, this is a great “one stop shop” collection. While many Allman fans already have the majority of these tunes, it is great for the record company to package them together. Those fans don’t have to rebuy them so why complain and it’s not like Greg and the boys are going to pop out new music ever again so why be disappointed in this. All it is doing is keeping their music alive and allowing potential new fans to check it out. For those of you yearning for new Allman stuff, I highly recommend checking out The Allman Betts Band. While it is several of their offspring, they are good and it is like a trip down memory lane. RIP to the many lost bandmates.

1. Dickey's last stand - I have been to The Beacon to the ABB on two occasions and they do not disappoint. However, and perhaps this is hindsight speaking but this run was a little sad for me considering Dickey's dismissal a few weeks later. There are some gems in this CD. Please Call Home, Seven Turns, DWYNM NMCB and Ain't Wastin' Time all shine.

1. Duane Fan - I would give this a star rating except the master tapes were apparently not well taken care of over the years. There are some places where the sound quality fades a little, but most of the recording is good, and it’s mastered with a good dynamic range and frequency response. It doesn’t sound like a garage recording, it sounds like a good live album where the tape is damaged or worn in some places. That said, with a band like the Allman Brothers, in , with Duane and Barry still in the lineup, it’s a treasure. Nearly at their peak, and with the instrumental jams, no two performances of these songs are the same, and there are scarce few recordings of Duane’s legendary guitar work as it is. To have another is a treat. Listen to him stretch out on “You Don’t Love Me.” Do I wish the price were lower? Sure. Did I happily pay this price to have this recording? Absolutely. Other fans will, too, but casual listeners of this iconic and too short lived original group can settle for the greatest hits collection. P.S. - It is also recorded at the Fillmore West in SF, a legendary venue of ’s rock.

2. Absolutly fantastic!!! The solos are not repeats! - The song titles may be the same, but the solos are are as different as today is different from yesterday! if you love to hear different interpitations, like the Dead or Miles then go for it !!!! but if you believe that the same songs are repeats from the Fillmore East then by all means stick to spotify or whatever platform you choose and dont buy it or review it. this is for music afficianados only!!

1. Dickie Betts Masterpiece - This was such a pleasant surprise to me. The songs range from the beautiful, longing for home song Highway Call, to the foot stomping Handpicked with the one and only fiddle player Vassar Clements. Dickie just shines throughout. The music here is country with his signature touch. Had he decided to go to Nashville, I have no doubt he would have been a Country Music star. A fantastic songwriter, and in my opinion, the BEST GUITAR player, and the back bone of The Allman Brothers Band. Every song here is great.

1. A must for ABB Fans - While there have been multiple releases from the Tom Dowd produced recordings - these recordings by Owsley Stanley of Greatful Dead fame are an excellent insight into the formation of the songs that will be released on At Fillmore East. Excellent sonic quality. Anytime more Duane Allman recordings are available....plus some of the earliest Elizabeth Reed...I think Greggs vocals on Whippin Post are the best I've heard.

1. In memory of a Brother - In the ABB was at the height of their musicianship. You have to understand historical context to appreciate the genre defining power they presented. In there weren’t many Rock bands of any import coming from the “South.” And . . . In , the ultimate venue for the best Rock bands was Fillmore East. On those nights (and early morning) in March and June people heard something they never heard before. Listen to the into by Bill Graham, he heard the best Rock bands around, and what he experienced on those nights rocked him at the core! Also remember, of all the bands he heard, he offered the ABB to close the east coast mecca of Rock & Roll venues! Besides the Grateful Dead there weren’t any improvisational “jam bands” with a two trap set that presented such incredible cohesion and power. Not only did the ABB define a new music genre, they presented a statement that lasts to this day if you want to understand . . . It’s about the music! They didn’t prance around with costumes that drew attention to themselves. They “laid it down” with incredible precision and power because they wanted you to experience their passion for the music! No matter how many years go by, At Fillmore East never stops being fresh - turn it up loud at experience a soul serenade!

2. The Allman Brothers Holy Grail - I have this on Bluray audio, with hi-res and stereo and . tracks. The first show is an interesting missed opportunity and it's understandable why Tom Dowd didn't want those tracks included in the original At Fillmore East. The interplay here is otherworldy and even though there isn't much variation in the setlist from show to show, it doesn't get old.

1. Miss the Original Band! - Jimmy Farrah and original guitars have one awesome final live album playing under the band name Gator Country. Only one album, but is great to hear his voice singing all the hits with the original strong guitarists. If you are a fan, look it up on itunes for your collection, if you didn’t know. One star only for the last members of MH, that are far inferior in voice and musical quality compared to the originals, sorry to say. Best thought to all the original members who have passed on. Honor them by listening to the original band albums only, and don’t waste your time or money on this sad later attempt to keep the band name going with not one original member.

2. Better - Jimmy so much better on vocals. Almost sounds like DJB. Minus star for no Gator Country. Also, their concert staple, Freebird, is missing. :-( For those of you giving them minus stars for lack of original members, you do know that anyone original is either years old or dead? Ever heard of bands like Fleetwood Mac or the Eagles? Last I saw, they each had original members and people pay $ to go see them. How about Lynyrd Skynyrd? original member. Not comparing Hatchet to any of them musically but try to be happy the band is trying to carry on and still share their music!

3. People wake up - This is not Hatcher - zero original members . DJB sold the name when he got sick .. not even a Roadie is from the original Hatchet.
If these Imposters where any good they would have their own band with their own name... this is a disgrace - I have to give star to get the review posted so star on a scale of ,
2021-01-02
4. New era, sounds more like classic Hatchet - Jimmy sounds more like DJB than Phil did. I liked and respected Phil and his time fronting Hatchet, but I’m digging Jimmy and hope he has some longevity in the band. But Bobby should add another guitarist or two. It sounds a little too bare for Molly Hatchet.

5. And the band played on..... - Since the s this band has endured through so many personnel changes yet still presents the promised gift of good old Southern Rock!!!!
The mix on this album is dang good! Songs both older classics and newer ones make this selection of live ones a sure fire addition to anyone's collection!!!!

1. This album captures the flavor of the place and the electricity of the band _almost_ as well as being there. This is no mean feat. I give the recording a solely because this band has greatness yet to come and I want to save a few superlatives. This is a great set recorded & produced by a skilled hand. 1. Don't expect the typical Dickey stuff from this album - To those who expect the typical Dickey Betts stuff from this album, you will be very dissapointed. The songs are jazzy & instrumental and not really Dickey Betts rock. Even the familiar Betts stuff like Dona Maria & Steady Rollin' Man are treated very differently here. Dona is an instrumental & Steady Rollin is slow and somewhat jazzy. The band sounds more like 's big band stuff with all the horns, etc. Different lead singers & many instrumentals create an un-Dickey like experience. I saw Dickey this summer in Columbus, OH and it was awesome!! I don't know what he was thinking on this album. Don't waste your money & time on this clunker !!

1. On Safari - Big fanof Kntcky HdHntrs from the start. Just saw them live at Gramparsons Guitar Pull in Waycross Ga. They did a lot of these songs. Went to ITunes and listened. I consider this to be one of their best albums. Considering I own most of them I reckon I am qualified to say this. Safari is a great blend of rock, blues and country which is what all music fans refer to as southern rock. Great album. Great job Kentucky Headhunters. Well woth the purchase price.
