1. Revolver Mix - The reason to buy this new release is because Giles Martin and Sam Okell have utilized Peter Jackson’s de-mix technology to completely remix Revolver from the original four track tapes at Abbey Road Studios. Jackson’s technology has allowed Martin Okell to separate each instrument in the mix and create a completely new stereo remix of the album, I’ve only heard one song Taxman but if the rest of the album is anything like Taxman, this will be the best new Beatles release ever, I can’t wait to hear this.

2. Mostly good, but... - This album sounds excellent with the drums, bass, and vocals FINALLY balanced well between the right and left speakers instead of one or the other. My only gripes with this new mix are "Yellow Submarine" and "For No One". Why, oh WHY are Yellow Submarine's drums almost completely panned to the left speaker??? It sounds terrible. And I'm glad the drums on "For No One" have been balanced, but the rest of the sounds are too jumbled together. It eliminates the space that used to exist in the song. But out of all the newly remixed albums, this one is probably the best! They just should have made sure the main drum beats, main bass lines, and main vocals were well-balanced between right and left speakers in every song. It's not hard to do.

1. Finally a modern band worth listening to - It's like Cream, very early Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, and Interpol were put into a blender and the result is the Black Angels! All I have to do is press play and let the album run it's course. Amazing! Combining haunting guitar melodies, soul piercing vocals, ambitious baselines, and complimentary yet sometimes powerful (not overpowering) percussions, the Black Angels presents a modern addition to psychedelic rock that is unique and absolutely worth your support.

2. Hauntingly Delicious!!! Easy stars! - It's like Jim Morrison had an out of body experience, during an acid trip, while he was in a bad mood. I LOVE this album! This is where black rock, dessert rock, & psychedelics converge. It's a haunting place & I hang out there a lot. If I had to pick one song, it would be "Sniper at the Gates of Heaven". Seriously intense! Don't play that song if your in a school zone....

1. One of my Favorites - This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm a big fan of garage/psych/blues/rock from the 's and this album is the epitome of that era and genre. I would have to say that Smokey Roads is my favorite song on this album. There's so much feeling and life in this album and I highly recommend this album to anyone who's into this genre. Still trying to find the vinyl for this album but a download will do for now.

2. True Music - Tommy James & The Shondells...what else needs to be said? They were of the most popular groups around during the s. For many this album helps them hold on to special memories, its a shame music isnt made like this anymore. Crystal Blue Persuasion is obviously the most popular and perhaps of their most famous songs from the era. Let's hope that this music will always be around

3. Crimson & clover Album - I am a huge music fan & this is one of the best albums I've ever heard! I started listening to my father's album when I was probably years old, mesmerized by the orange roulette label! Only to re-dicover this great album when I was a teen with the help of technology I was able to listen to it high on a mountain top in massachusetts in a blazer! it makes for incredible memories! I also remember my father telling me how when he was in Alaska in writing love letters to the Woman he was to marry in august of that year listening to Crystal Blue Persuasion means a lot to me, they will be celbrating their th anniversary this Aug. & Crystal Blue Persuasion will be playing! Thank You Tommy James & the Shondells!

4. Great album - Who cares if Cellophane Symphony isn't here? It's on the iTunes store. Anyway, Crystal Blue Persuasion is my favorite (along with other people) and Crimson and Clover is a well known classic, (duh) but I would also check out I'm a Tangerine, (if you like psychedelic) Smokey Roads, and Sugar On Sunday.

1. Still find myself singing these songs to myself - I remember a few of these catchy line and licks. I found myself singing or humming the songs so I did a search on Quicksilver. I got this one and it has all the ones I know plus the always popular Who Do You Love. I just had to hear them and download them. Good quality.

1. Missing Count: another rant - A fantastic remix...Hearing every nuance as if I am in the studio with them....Loving that...reminds me of the days as a child unwrapping the newest album purchase...everything was NEW....I am delighting in this .....
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN:
No DIgital booklet for those who choose the DIGITAL VERSION (C'mon, where is the sense in that: no paper is used, Kinda cheapo don't ya think luv)
AND of course, I will add the COUNT in on TAXMAN...oooopsy...oh well no one will notice....NOT!
2022-11-08
2. Taxman Count-in is NOT Omitted - There are several reviews here claiming that George’s count-in for Taxman cuts off the number in “---.” This is not true. The number is there. It simply depends on which player you use. If you play the track on your phone, you may not get the “,” but other players play it exactly intact.

3. Revolver (Super Deluxe) - Update October , Changed my star s to stars, Taxman has been fixed, and this deluxe edition is fantastic. The stereo version in my opinion is the best version your ever gonna hear warts and all, people are complaining that they can’t hear this or that, but stereo mixes weren’t done by The Beatles this new remix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell using Peter Jackson’s de-mix technology is it hands down and I love this new stereo mix. This Apple Digital Master to me sounds better than the cd deluxe edition, I own both versions cd and digital and have listened to both. Which ever version you purchase you will not be disappointed so go and get your copy now

4. I don't get it... - The Beatles were great, NO question about that. But the reason the versions that were originally released WRE released is because they are the best versions. Frankly, I think the Mono versions sound better and that's how they were originally mixed by the Beatles/George Martin. To be fair, for people into every Beatle utterance/demo, I guess this is a good thing but for people that just want to enjoy Beatle tunes, buy the Mono version and forget all this other cr@p...that's what the Beatles did! ;)

5. Glaring song truncation issues, nonetheless revelatory - That glaring truncation on Taxman at beginning is quite bad. Amazon track of same doesn’t have the late start. Nonetheless, the overall sound Idz much better for Apple offered Revolver than for Amazon. The superior crispness, clarity and sonic detail, and wide soundstage of Apple’s version to that of is quite evident. It’s just that friggin’ truncation. Pretty basic stuff to QA.

6. Yes it’s a bit much, but good! - New Remixes actually sound very good, much louder and ‘crisper’ than previous reissues. Sure some of the demos aren’t needed, but quite a few do add to the original versions we’ve all grown up with. Like the Sgt Pepper reissue pick and choose the songs you like, you won’t be disappointed.
2022-10-28
7. One star for Apple because Taxman is cutoff… - I love the album and I am sure the production is brilliant, however I will not be buying it here. Just wasted $. to find out if Taxman was still cutoff at the beginning…and it is. Apple really needs to read the user reviews and correct their defects. Now, I will be asking for my money back and go find a copy elsewhere.

9. Excited! - This promises to be an eye opening release. We’re talking about one of the greatest pop/rock records of all time. This is for people who want to hear the nuance and have a new experience. (The count on ‘Tax Man’ was dubbed in later anyway) Again, Apple is a music delivery service not a record label. They didn’t mix the music. Okay?
2022-10-12
10. Disc Lineup is WRONG! - On the track titles for disc , there is a mistake on the song count. Actual track count is songs. Apple screwed this up royally. DON'T ORDER this -disc volume thinking you're getting all the songs listed. For the true list, go to TheBeatlesStore.com for the actual listing. Those other songs are on the larger disc set. Just an FYI.

11. It's true, Track (Taxman) is messed up. - I purchased the song even after reading the reviews just to see what people meant when they said that it started with ", , " and not ", , , ." I definitely see what people mean, it just sounds like you paused it half a second in and then resumed it, except the song starts at the resume point. I looked into it, and discovered that it is indeed an iTunes issue. It doesn't sound like that when you stream it on YouTube. I've already requested a refund for this song, and I look forward to purchasing the complete album when it becomes available. Hoping that none of the other songs are messed up.

1. Great album - as many reviewers have already stated, this is a great album to have if you enjoyed Syd Barrett's solo career. Has a similar intimate yet slightly askew feel to it. Some of the guitar playing is just amazing too, but in a different way than you would think. I should mention that iTunes has this album listed as being released however, that is a typo; the album was actually released .
2010-04-12
2. ? - I read the "release date" while listening to the first track. It blew my mind. Then I realized that one should never believe iTunes blindly... It was still pretty amazing that the album was released in . But a little less so. It is really fun to find another tripped out guy like Barrett to listen to though. Skip's a little less whimsical though. Not a bad thing, just the main difference.

3. "I Could Use Me Some Yin For My Yang" - Former Jefferson Airplane drummer and Moby Grape rhythm guitarist Skip Spence left us with this beautiful artifact from the late s, a true solo album on which he literally plays every instrument and handles all the singing and songwriting duties. This is the portrait of an artist with demons that will not be everyone's cup of tea. However, if you're a fan of the Grape, mind-expanding s music, and/or wasted-loner-psychedelic-folk-country-rock albums with affecting and twisted lyrics, I think you will love "Oar." Rockers such as "Little Hands," "Diana," and the mind-blowing "War In Peace" at times recall the work of contemporaries like Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and even Cream, but are all stamped with the mark of Spence's unique vision. Sounding at times like Kris Kristofferson but with a better voice and more psychedelic journeys under his belt, Spence shines on the acoustic country-influenced numbers like "Dixie Peach Promenade" and "Weighted Down (The Prison Song)," while the guitar picking on "Cripple Creek" is simply gorgeous. The remaining songs are more experimental (especially tracks -, which is bonus material to the original album), often featuring only vocals, bass guitar, and drums, and might sound like simple backing tracks to some ears. Be that as it may, selections such as "Margaret-Tiger Rug" and "It's The Best Thing For You" have a bizarre charm to them, and the intense polyrhythms of "Grey/Afro" have significant transportative powers, believe me. An album like nothing else and perfect for listeners with a taste for adventurous music.

1. Psychedelia - Just want to clarify that this "album" is actually two albums put together as one, to sell it no doubt. I bought both on casette a million years ago. The first album has o clock and whatnot and to me sounds a bit muddled. The second, and better album was called Psonic Psunspot, and it's my drug.

2. Quintessential Psychedelia Tribute - This album spans the ’s with sonorous harmonies akin to Beach Boys ballads like “Pale and Precious” to incredibly psychedelic, Pink Floyd-esque. layered masterpieces like “ O’Clock”, This album has it all. It was out of print for a decade or more, and I used to scour used CD stores to keep a stack of them on hand at home to give to friends. “you must have this record…” Each song is a gem of work, in homage to an era of music that went from smooth sounds to rocking-out improv. XTC made this record in tribute to the ’s… enjoy it for what it is. This album is true brilliance.

1. And the mind travels back... - Yes, this is it....this is an early summer Friday night in at the Fillmore. This is the real thing, folks. This is exactly how it sounded, exactly how it felt. This...this is the real TRIBAL STOMP....the primal alchemical sonic epiphany that rocked the planetary core. The sound is amazingly clear. Cipollina is on fire this night, the licks of pulsing flames enveloping Duncan's and Freiberg's vocals. Put on your headphones, fire one up, and listen to this cosmic echo of the supernova that was the San Francisco sound in all its white-hot psychedelic glory.

1. Perfect vintage psychedelic mix with modern flourishes - ...I hadn't really gotten too into these guys as it generally seemed they were pretty much big rock stuff....but this album either leaves the fuzz around the edges or uses it as phased out pads, if you will. Frankly, I love it! Adventurous but cool solo work, spacey production One of my current favorite records. I hope to hear more sonic excursions like this from these cats...

2. Really Groovy Throwback to 's West Coast Music - I dig this record probably the best out of their catalogue so far. A lot more chill album without a real rocker, which in this case is a good thing. Makes you want to pretend you were part of that early hippy movement in psychedelic music while lighting up a J.

1. Can't get enough! - I've been a fan of these guys since the very beginning. It has been a real treat to watch them rise and gain the notoriety they deserve. What is it about their music that I can't get enough of!? One thing is for sure, they have a special talent for writing riffs that hook into your flesh and drag you into a psychedelic dimension of rockdom. They have a huge sound that is tuned to resonate with your balls and your brain at the same time, giving you no choice but to ride the train thundering down the track, with the wind in your hair as you bang your head. Momentum that lets you pass through the fabric of space and time chin first....

1. Sound of Psychedelia, - The Elevators were a little Texan band active around ' to '. They spawned from this electric jug player and a man named Roky from some band named the Spades. The band had only released three or four albums, not including live or mono alternate versions, in their run. A huge box set was released a couple of years ago, but it was limited edition. Keep your eyes open for albums beyond what iTunes provides... Psychedelic Sounds, for starters... they're well worth the hunting. But, this comp. will satisfy.

2. AMAZING - Great, but get the full albums, especially 'Easter Everywhere', though apparently not here. These records have a sonic intimacy that few bands can ever get close to, and Roky Erickson's voice is more than just spooky amazing. It has a way of channeling the Phil Ochs / Bob Dylan school of folk with a devilish blues howl or, on 'Nobody to Love', a kind of breathy chanted drawl, a forerunner for WEEN type vocals. 1. America's st Century "Fab Four" - This sound is amazing; it is Beatles inspired, with just enough modern in it to be st century, and has every bit of the musical and lyrical talent of Lennon/McCartney. 1. Way Underrated! - I saw Lee Michaels live times. Twice in and once during Christmas vacation (Freshman year of college)in . All three times were at the Whiskey on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. His drummer all times was the infamous “Frosty”. The two of them absolutely blew me away. I obviously never forget those performances. Sadly, a lot of so called music critics at the time labeled him a second, and final generation psychedelic musician. I think nothing could have been further from the truth. He was more blues oriented than ever given credit for ... especially on his first LPs. Granted he ginned up the music with some pretty heavy fuzz laden guitar (mostly on the first two LPs) but his keyboards really laid down the foundation for the music. His rd LP was really he and Frosty banging it out on organ and drums .. that was about it. But if you really listen you’ll hear a blues oriented backdrop that a lot of so called tier one “psychedelic” music was based on at the time. Moving into the mid-s his music became more main stream commercial, but so did everyone else’s. Remember Jefferson Starship and Quicksilver Messenger Service of the mid-seventies? The bottom line is that Lee Michaels is an excellent musician and his music has been way underrated for too many years. Give his Best Of a real listen and I think you’ll see what I mean.

2. Height Hi-the Best of Lee Michaels - I think that Lee michaels is one of the most underated artist of the Seventies there is. Every time I listen to this music I am transported to a higher place. His drummer was one of the best of the time. This album would be a great addition to any ones collection.

1. Cheerleader gone oops upside yo head - This is hard to get thru each of the tracks...the vocals are of key and sound like someones dad decided their little girl needed a record deal and ouch this one hurts the ears...the tracks are not to bad but the noise out of this ones mouth reminds a person of that passenger sitting next to you in your car trying to sing to the radio and it makes you want to hit the guard rail..........

2. Don't Miss This - I've been a Kristeen Young fan for almost ten years and each release has gotten progressively better. Now, however, Kristeen has reached a new level of sophisticated song writing, infused with a pop-sensibility I did not expect. I have come to expect the beautiful vocals, the thrashing keyboards, and dance beat; but I was really surprised to get such an accessible collection of songs that I can imagine hearing on the radio. Tony Visconti's amazing production enhances Kristeen's performances.

1. A Psychedelic Slice of Texas Toast - Mindbending sounds from the original Pioneers jof Psychedelia. The unhinged genius of Roky Erikson, the incomparable electric jug of Tommy Hall & Stacy Sutherland's driving rhythm guitar with the Danny's holding down the beat all combine to brew an electric potion of boiling smoking southern style psychedelic stew. 1. Masterpiece! - One of those rare albums in life where every single song is incredible. This album is meant to be played from start to finish without skipping. It’s the perfect background album for a small get together with friends or a mid day drive on a Sunday. Severely underrated band but this is my favorite album of theirs hands down

2. Mind bendingly awesome psychedelic rock - I first heard of these guys on Pandora. They kept popping up on there until I finally gave in and bought the album. Well played, Pandora. Anyway, it's a pretty solid album. I don't find myself skipping to the next track at all. The middle of "Mission District" is ungodly awesome. The guitars hit a climax that make you want to take off. "Snake In The Grass" is one of the best psychadelic rock songs I've ever heard. It's sixteen minutes long and every minute
of it is mind bendingly awesome. This band really makes great use of the tambourine and the maracas. They really add a mysterious, almost haunting sound to the tracks they're used on, especially the maracas. My only gripe is that the mixing on a couple of the songs is poor and it's almost impossible to understand what hes saying. His voice is too far in the background. This wasn't a deal breaker for me though. Still a very solid album. Two thumbs up

1. Mer-Magnum-Opus! - Epic and ethereal masterpiece from the Mermen. Delicate and lilting at times but it shows it's teeth occasionally with heavy waves of overdriven psychedelic goodness. If you are a fan, this is most comparable to "A Glorious Lethal Euphoria" with a focus on bass, drums, and guitar with minimal overdubs. All performances are sublime, but Jen's bass playing is just phenomenal. Possibly the best album from the best band on the planet!
