1. Interesting - The only gripe I have is that the songs thus far sound nothing different from what ABR has been doing for years now. But why fix what ain't broken? Interesting that they decided to feature Spencer Chamberlain, especially since he's now an atheist and a huge jerk. I wonder how his anti-Christ views sat with the band members' beliefs in the studio, and vice versa. I look forward to this album!

1. Metal Kingdom - As the gates open the world will see a sea of metalheads as far as the eyes can see. Standing strong with no fear or regret. We together fight for this genre and take on anyone who stands in our way. Plus anyone who doesn’t like what BabyMetal represents then that person doesn’t respect music from all cultures or metal in general.

1. This is not good metal - Metallica was a f’ing thrash!!! This is not thrash if you want to hear good metal go listen to Megadeth. Dave Mustaine was IN Metallica and they kicked him out with out even a goddamn plane ticket. Then after being kicked out he formed Megadeth. Dave definitely deserves to be recognized.

2. Awesome album - This is definitely my go to album I mean dude come on wherever I may roam is absolutely amazing nothing else matters like James said in. Metallica documentary is about missing you’re chick on the road and brotherhood and the friendship he had with the band members then years ago and of course of wolf and man is definitely not talked about as much as most Metallica songs enter sandman Is great to %

3. The Soundtrack to my ’s - This release delivers on so many levels and still holds it’s own many years later. Watch and learn from the masters kids. The songs are strong and the engineering superb. I knew the day I heard “Battery” from Master of Puppets, they were going to blow up big time. Thanks Metallica for setting the bar so high that it cannot be touched even today.

4. While a departure from their early sound.... - And yes!!! Much like a huge majority, I think Metallica's first albums are stellar. This album still rocks!!! Sure, it's a HUGE departure from their early sound. However, if you look at how far Metallica has come and the success they have had as a band, it's in large part because they took chances and a band must evolve if they will grow as artists and an artist can't just keep painting from the same pallet. Otherwise, they become boring and predictable. I had my skepticisms when this album first came out, but the songs really grow on you. It's a great album and one of their most successful selling albums. million sold!! x platinum!!! That is million people who bought, listen to and love this album. One of the highest selling albums of all time. Just saying.

5. Sellouts - I know this is going to ruffle feathers, but I’m going to call it for what it is, a sellout P.O.S.
Heavy metal used to be an exclusive club, until this album came out. Then every soccer mom had this playing from her mini van while picking up junior from school. They sold their souls for radio friendly rock.

6. BIKER METAL HEAVEN. - Quite possibly the best biker metal record ever. This record moves and sounds like a confident beast. Like a fat boy Harley Davidson. Around this time there was a biker metal movement that went on from to like . Testament , megadeth and Metallica were the leaders. This is a record that is a must own for anyone that likes hard rock , heavy metal and biker culture. Obviously AC/DC the black album was an influence in this records no none sense approach. A must own.

7. and blows the roof off to this day - Great album and songs . A great metal album . It's metallica what more can I say after this album came albums that I don't count . Then death magnetic which was a good album .This had a lot of melody and in my opinion one of the best recordings the band actually had out of all their albums . All the people saying this is bad to this day the album sells , copies a week I guess they did something right . The best metal band period .Game changer of an album period.

8. Yes it’s not thrash - Metallica in the s went to becoming more of a heavy metal band compared to the thrash metal s. This album has some played to death songs (you know what they are), but also some of the best deep tracks. Holier than thou, Through the never, and TGTF especially are great songs. This is still a good metal album beyond the overplayed songs.

9. One of my favorites. - I am aware of the irony in my review title, but this is my favorite Metallica album, second being Master, it has the perfect album structure. You have the signature song, “Enter Sandman”, the softer love song, “Nothing Else Matters”, the power ballad, “The Unforgiven”, the song that they named a tour after, “Wherever I May Roam”. You also have the promotional singles that are awesome and have a connection to the writer, “The God That Failed”. Overall it is what you think of when you think of album.

10. The album - This is the album that Hetfeild learned to sing. That isn’t a bad thing. Some may look at it like they sold out and I would say that was the next album. Metallica filled my ears when I was a teen and while I don’t listen to much of there newer stuff. I’m a fan and will be for a life.

11. Through the Never - Without being “too quick to criticize” the music too much, but this is where Metallica definitely stopped making speedier and politically/socially poignant songs to more radio acceptable metal pop. Seriously, a song about the bogeyman? Yo ho indeed. But it’s their band and they can do what they want, and they did a great job making pop metal. Doesn’t suit everyone’s tastes but at least they threw a small bone to old fans with through the never.

1. A Musing On Heavener - After listening to this album all the way through, I honestly am more than a little disappointed. I can’t see why so many people are so excited for this. The production is just too clean, there are so many layers but nothing seems to get lost at all. I could probably listen to this album thirty times and hear something completely different each time. I don’t want that clarity, I just want something incredibly simple that I don’t have to think about. They need to take a page from Norwegian black metal and make the production as muddled as possible, you know so it sounds like it was mixed in a garbage disposal. The guitar work is overpowering as it’s too complex and those insane riffs and breakdowns aplenty just remind me that I’ll never be able to play any of these songs which saddens me. The drum work is so clear, almost too clear, I want the China to be muddled in with the rest of the instrumentation and lost. The bass isn’t drowned out by everything else, you can actually hear it prominently in the mix. We need to knock that bassist down a few pegs, he needs to know his place. Meanwhile the vocals are so emotional, from the beautiful brutality of the screamed to the angelic cleans, it’s like he poured his heart and soul into them; dude must be emo or something, yawn. The lyrics are FAR too deep and meaningful for me, I much prefer the empty, cookie cutter songwriting of many (though unfortunately not all) contemporary country artists. Don’t get me started on the album artwork. Sure it’s “beautiful” and would make an amazing painting but it’s just too much. I just want a simple album cover with not much going on, maybe just a bunch of shirtless dudes acting hardcore; that’s the perfect album artwork right there. Songs I especially hated were Elysium, purity weeps, labyrinthine, and false meridian. So what if I got chills listening to them (and every other song on this record), they didn’t make me want to puke like a maroon five song would. That’s how you can tell real musical quality. Sure the terms “masterpiece” and “their best work yet”could be used to describe this album, but for those, like myself, who just want stale, generic, empty cookie cutter songs, this album is sure to be a pure disappointment through and through.

2. inside łhe paradise - I’d like to say thank you Invent Animate for Heavener. All of us musicians and listeners should cherish this album. Absolutely great. All the elements IA together (like all their previous records) are beautifully and brutally crafted. Their songwriting makes their peers and musicians alike appreciate and love them. Invent Animate albums are undeniably second to none and Heavener is no exception.

1. What this world needs! - I can’t thank this band enough for standing for truth, working hard, singing professionally, being mature and professional, haunting our ears, and including amazing key changes, modulations, secondary dominants, and including soft piano interludes, epic cinematic theatrical scores and being the best they can be. I dare to say that Tommy Karevic and his passion and phantom voice style is the better than the band that began. I love the modern sound and love how fresh this all comes across. The talent and creativity create awe and tears for me. It is beyond refreshing. I can’t say enough. Music in the metal, rock, and film score world is the best.

2. The Best of Kamelot - This album sounds perfect, like the quintessential Kamelot album. It’s as if they were asked to release a Best of Kamelot album, but instead wrote songs that sound like all their best styles, phases, and in some cases, melodies. That’s the album’s strength, but it’s also its weakness. There’s little new ground broken here. “One More Flag in the Ground” may be their greatest ear worm yet. As usual, two of the stronger tracks, “Midsummer’s Eve” and “New Babylon” are the ones featuring excellent guest performances (I love Melissa Bonny in everything she guests in…I should probably start listening to Ad Infinitum at some point). “The Looking Glass” is a prog metal highlight, though very reminiscent of a couple older Kamelot songs. “My Pantheon (Forevermore)” is a powerful, dark symphonic opus to close out the album…my early favorite. “The Awakening” is a pleasure to listen to, but is more of a desert island album than it is challenging or new.

1. Though he doesn’t have credits - Sounds like it would come straight from the next Emmure album, not Spite. Odd because it sounds so much like Jay wrote the entire song, for Emmure, and then Joshua Travis (ironically) somehow bled onto the track to make a half Danza/Emmure album…and I’m all for that. If this album keeps up this chaos, then it’s a day one purchase

1. Has its moments - There’s lots of songs on this album that are great: AMB, X, Until it Sleeps, King Nothing, Bleeding Me, WMH, Thorn Within, and Outlaw Torn. The rest are still good except: Poor Twisted me is a copy of Nightmare by Black Sabbath, which sounds good but the verse vocals ruin the song, House that Jack Built is a snooze fest, and Hero of the Day is just unspeakably bad. A star album album if they cut Hero of the Day.

2. HOW ABOUT THE SINGLES ITUNES?! - The song that really got me into metallica as a kid not knowing them was from the "hero of the day single." It was a medley of hit the lights, the four horsemen, phantom lord, one of the other first cd songs and from ride the lightning including fight fire with fire... PLEASE PUT THEIR SINGLES UP FOR PURCHASE STARTING HERE! thank you

3. Aged better than expected - I have to admit I hated this Metallica-lite when it came out, and their redeeming follow-up, Load, didn't fare much better. But, listening to King Nothing over years later, I got struck by nostalgia, similar to other Metallica singles like those in the Black Album. I think Metallica should revisit this direction as the band's original fans are in their s and some even in their s. Hey kids, it's safe to listen to this.

4. Unfairly Panned - This album was made by any other band, it would've been a huge success. I think that the people complaining about this album are crazy. And that bears itself out in these reviews, which aren't years old like the album. Look, I don't particularly care for Lars, but he said it best – yeah they sold out, every venue they play, every time they play.

5. The Hero Of The Day - First off, I really love this album. Sure, it may not be the best album ever made, but it is better than most pop trash. Load by Metallica features songs, in a running time of minutes. Released to the world in June of , the album debuted at number one on the Billboard chart. It received a mixed reaction, but was still very successful, selling around five million copies. It was fewer than the Black Album, but still a massive success. Many fans were disappointed in the shift in direction, as they set speed aside, and became a hard rock band with the image of alternative rock. The album raised more eyebrows when the band headlined the usually alternative Lollapalooza. They cut their hair, wore makeup, and became somewhat abstract. The album cover is blood and sperm mixed together, which sometimes grosses me out when I look at it. This is like trying a new food. You have to eat it a few times before you develop a taste for it. With rockers like Until It Sleeps, Hero Of The Day, King Nothing, The Outlaw Torn, The House Jack Built and Bleeding Me, you will have a good Metallica album. I give it a / because it’s different, and I like it when bands experiment with their sound. If you don’t like the album at all, get Until it Sleeps and you’re set for this album. However, I highly recommend you buy it, because if you like something different, you will like this.

6. Not Metallica's best but certainly not their worst - I like the different approach they took with both Load and Reload. I can understand how some fans dislike both these albums because there isn't any thrash, but for me I like the variety in their sound. I still like their older stuff but I like how it's slow metal and still sounds like Metallica. If you're a metal fan who likes a little variety I think Load is a good album for you.

7. A Misunderstood masterpiece. - At the time of release the shock of their image change and different sounds alienated their close minded, one dimensional metal audience. This album was a departure from thrash and welcomed blues and hard rock influences into the fold. Over time many people who once dismissed this album have grown to love it, and it withstands the rest of time even better than some of their seminal work.
2017-05-18
8. Misunderstood - This is one of Metallica's most underrated albums. It may not be Master Of Puppets or Ride The Lightning but I still consider it to be a good album. My favorite tracks: X , The House Jack Built, Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, Hero Of The Day, Bleeding Me, Ronnie, and The Outlaw Torn.
2017-03-14
9. Not Metallica... - This album is actually a fantastic rock album. I love it! But it's a terrible Metallica album. Unfortunately for Metallica, people had high expectations and this is not what the long time fans wanted to hear when they popped in a Metallica cd. If you can get passed that you will find yourself enjoying one hell of a rock album.
2016-09-20
10. Great album, stop complaining - If you think this album is horrible, you aren't a true Metallica fan. This album shows the creativity James has with his lyrics and riffs. Kirk has some highlights in this album such as Outlaw Torn. That solo gave me goosebumps. Take your bunched up panties and stop hating on an experiment Metallica took the risk to do.
2016-07-19
11. Underrated Metallica album - This album received a lot of backlash when it was released because it didn't have the same style as the Black album or Master of Puppets. This was released years after the Black album and the band was in a different state of mind and wanted to experiment. It's a little experimental with the sound. Still delivers riffs but with a bit of a blues flare and the speed is more mid-tempo. Some have accused the band of trying to be more 'alternative' but really it doesn't sound like grunge music or even the alternative rock that was happening, but it was definitely different than the Metallica people came to know and love. Give this album another listen with an open mind (I was one of those that didn't like the album). Some of my favorite all time Metallica tracks are on this album: Until It Sleeps, Bleeding Me, The Outlaw Torn. Finely crafted tunes with a unique sound. The band has since returned to more of a metal sound but I kind of wish they continued to move in the direction this album was heading. Recommended listening.

1. They did the impossible… - …Tool outclassed themselves. The Grudge already makes previous efforts seem dull by comparison (except Jimmy on Ænima), and the rest is self explanatory. Schism has got a really cool bassline, and I hear Peter Gabriel influence in Reflection. On the whole really good, able to be appreciated by hardcore death metalheads and pop/rap/emo wimps alike. Such is the power of Tool.

2. Dark Side Redux - It’s very rarely that an album is produced so perfectly that it must be listened to in full to really understand and appreciate it for the complete work of art that it is. The concept, the music, the engineering on this album are all perfect. Much like Dark Side of The Moon, this album is a journey that must be taken. years on and I’m still discovering new things with each listen.

3. Best Progressive Rock Band ever! - There are not enough words to describe how awesome this band is and how awesome this album is! I was lucky enough to see them live and they performed many of the songs on this album and my mind was just completely blown! We can see and hear a band that is maturing, yet not losing their full signature sound but at the same time are improving. That is so rare in a band these days. Most bands have maybe to good albums in them. This band just gets better with each album. Seriously, don’t pass on this one. Listen to the whole thing. Every song is great!

4. The Best Album of all time. - This album has changed my life for the absolute better and I % believe it’s by far the best. There is so much to find and discover in this album whether it’s sound, or motifs, or ideas inside the lyrics, or what the songs are about. You can hear this times and still find something new to experience with every song. Best album ever. Buy this album. Listen to it with headphones, loudly. Focus on the music and let yourself go to it.
2019-09-05
5. Can I give stars? - They follow up a historically good record with a potentially better one. Although still a heavy album, they bring it down slightly and step up the progressive elements. This album should be listened to in its entirety and not just in snippets. Disposition/Reflection/Triad is one of the highlights, at least for me, of the bands discography.

6. I was too young then - I purchased this album when it first was released played it didn't undersatnd it at all and stopped listening to it. Turn the clock maybe years later and it hit me how amazing this album is! I agree this is music "self discovery" can't wait for the new albulm we've waited awhile but thats ok!

7. TOOOOOL TOol TOOL - Japanese submarine slammed two torpedoes into our side, Chief. We was comin' back from the island of Tinian to Leyte, just delivered the bomb. Hiroshima bomb. Eleven hundred men went into the water. Vessel went down in twelve minutes. Didn't see the first shark for about a half an hour. Tiger. Thirteen-footer. You know how you know that when you're in the water, Chief? You tell by lookin' from the dorsal to the tail. What we didn't know... was our bomb mission had been so secret, no distress signal had been sent. Heh. They didn't even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, Chief, sharks come cruisin'. So we formed ourselves into tight groups. Y'know, it's... kinda like ol' squares in a battle like, uh, you see in a calendar, like the Battle of Waterloo, and the idea was, shark comes to the nearest man and that man, he'd start poundin' and hollerin' and screamin', and sometimes the shark'd go away... sometimes he wouldn't go away. Sometimes that shark, he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. Y'know the thing about a shark, he's got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'... until he bites ya. And those black eyes roll over white, and then... oh, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screamin', the ocean turns red, in spite of all the poundin' and the hollerin', they all come in and they rip you to pieces. Y'know, by the end of that first dawn... lost a hundred men. I dunno how many sharks. Maybe a thousand. I dunno how many men, they averaged six an hour. On Thursday mornin', Chief, I bumped into a friend of mine, Herbie Robinson from Cleveland- baseball player, boatswain's mate. I thought he was asleep, reached over to wake him up... bobbed up and down in the water just like a kinda top. Upended. Well... he'd been bitten in half below the waist. Noon the fifth day, Mr. Hooper, a Lockheed Ventura saw us, he swung in low and he saw us. Young pilot, a lot younger than Mr. Hooper. Anyway, he saw us and come in low and three hours later, a big fat PBY comes down and start to pick us up. Y'know, that was the time I was most frightened, waitin' for my turn. I'll never put on a life jacket again. So, eleven hundred men went into the water, three hundred sixteen men come out, and the sharks took the rest. Anyway... we delivered the bomb.

1. An all time classic album - one of Metallica’s best albums in their discography possibly better then master of the puppets it’s great from start to finish with master tracks like from whom the bell tolls fade to black and creeping death rip cliff burton they definitely deserve to go down in rock n roll history besides being apart of the big four nostalgic and the music has aged well like it’s very own time capsule the music almost gets better with age some of their best ideas and songwriting from cliff playing bass to Kirk influencing the album title and James hetfields unforgettable singing and macho bravado
2021-07-02
2. Master of puppets? - I don’t think so! Ride the lightning is the best Metallica album, and song, period! Uh lets see, fight fire with fire? Ride the lightning? For whom the bell tolls? I’ll stop now this debate is over! What? Oh i see, Need i say more? Well how about, trapped under ice, or creeping death maybe? Stop it! Battery, puppets, disposable heroes, orion, leoper missiah? I sometimes skip tracks on puppets to listen to those songs. I never skip tracks on ride the lightning! With that being said, why don’t James sing like this anymore? Or like how james sings on the four horsemen? Food for thought?

3. Growing Darkness Taking Dawn... - Each song had a different intensity by being straight and to the point. Fade to Black is very heart felt as well as incredibly meaningful to me and a lot of more people can agree because they heard of it too. Creeping Death talking about Egypt loved the references. Escape with I personally loved for the first minutes. Fight Fire with Fire was an amazing head banger song including the solo. Bell Tolls is a classic and nice pace for how haunting it is, then Ktulu is an excellent instrumental with that Cliff Burton influence. Ride The Lightning’s main guitar riff is so cool to match that “electric” chair’s “electricity”, by using an “electric” guitar. Electric
2021-01-02
4. One of their Bests - You start out fast with Fight Fire with Fire with an amazing guitar solo. Kirk Hammett is definitely the greatest heavy metal guitarist ever. Fade to Black is what officially got me into Metallica. I had to start with slow Metallica before I got into their more harder hits which I am now into.
2021-01-01
5. Best metal of all time - Fight fire with fire is basically the older brother of “Battery”. Energetic, fast and pure thrash. Ride the lightning is a unexpected track from the leaders of thrash. It did not stop me though. This song is very much awesome to listen to For whom the bell tolls is a aggressive thrash track with the greatest bass intro of all time. A well known thrash track, for a good reason Fade to Black I heard from friends that this was a ballad. Which made me confused. But after listening to this, I ended up in tears. It is EASILY the best Metallica song ever written. It has something that no thrash metal song at this time had. And that was the emotion it exploded at me while I listened to this for the first time.

6. My favorite Metallica album - This is my favorite Metallica album. Metal is the BEST genre of music. I’m young just got into middle school but I HATE pop music. I love fade to black. The lyrics are amazing and the end is the best part. I also really like fight fire with fire. For whom the bell tolls is a really good song too. The bass at the beginning. I want to play the bass just like cliff did. RIP cliff. .ride the lightning .puppets/justice .kill em all

1. Amazing - The first album was amazing and insane. A lot of bands have problems and try to bring it higher for the sophmore album and was wondering how this was going to go, but they out did themselves and proved that they are in for the distance. Can't wait until I see how insane album number is going to be. Mongolian Rock, the music you never knew you HAD to have............. Get this, it is awesome

2. The Resurrection of the great Khan - Ok dudes. This album is so cinematically intense. When I first listened to it I got this image of people resurrecting the great khan and him walking out with his medieval entourage with a vengeance to those who have forgotten where they came from. The short and sweet version, The Hu are back with a vengeance! If you have the heart and soul of a warrior don’t hesitate and get this album. It will pull you up by your bootstraps and help you slay the dragons throughout your day.

3. RHYTHM! - The only thing I don't like is that they didn't open for Volbeat when Volbeat played LA a year ago. GAAhh! It would've been two bands off my bucket list! Anyway, their music reminds me of "Battle of the Mounds" from the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack. It just makes you want to charge into battle even with two pulled hamstrings, baring your teeth and rolling your eyes into the back of your head. Good stuff.

4. One listen is not enough - The first time you hear them you think "what is this?", the second time "ok, this is cool.", the third is blasting out of your car as you try to throat sing with them scaring the neighbors. Something about their unique sound makes you fearless. I'm not Mongolian (Viking ancestry) but it stirs my warrior soul, Awesome music!!

1. The Birth of Heavy Metal - This is a must have for any fan of heavy metal. If you looked up any successful heavy or hard band in the past years, most of them would list Black Sabbath as their influence. This is arguably their best known and best album. Listen from start to finish! All killer and no filler!!!

2. AWESOME METAL!!! - You could argue that their debut is their best album, but when Black Sabbath released this album, they were full force on making something hard and heavy, ( “Paranoid”, “Iron Man” ) but also let the album have it’s softer moments. ( “Planet Caravan” ). This is, in my opinion, my favorite Sabbth album. Nice work.

3. The First True "Heavy Metal" Album - This album singlehandedly blew everything else away in terms of heaviness, and it was even considered "satanic". However, this album addressed some pretty grim real life issues, such as corrupt politicians and the Vietnam War. The tracks are well crafted and give off excellent vibes.

4. Just got this for free. Thanks, Google! - I was only when this came out, didn’t discover it until the late ‘s when in high school. This beast was one of my favorites when I discovered it, along with Rush’s , Led’s first few albums, and Boston’s first masterpiece. Gawd, these guys were tuned in on this work. years after discovering it, I’m still listening to it and getting into their work. I did get this from Google Play for free, but Apple’s iTS mix sounds much better (I just heard it on my GF’s Mac) - free isn’t necessarily better...

5. Do yourself a favor, buy the album! - This (along with pretty much all of sabbaths other stuff) is absolutely amazing. The guitar work alone is worth the buy. Lyrics are great vocals are great guitar is great drums are great. While it is nice to have this digitally on my phone, I also recommend getting this on vinyl! Original pressing if possible. Sounds sooooo good!

6. So Happy to see Paranoid - I grew up listening to Black Sabbath "Paranoid" My vinyl got broken.
Barry was my friend who listened to Balck Sabbath with me passed just after High School in the 's I still think of the times in
the audio room in high school with head phones on and cranking "Paranoid" . I will always remember you Barry.

7. The definitive Ozzy-era masterpiece - There's a reason a band like Black Sabbath is so revered and important in metal. Sabbath is one of those bands that managed to make excellent albums with multiple singers throughout their career (Iron Maiden, ACDC, genesis, and van halen come to mind) and while Ozzy's era is the best, it's tough to say for most people which album during the original era is best. For my money, Paranoid is the definitive Ozzy-era album, as many of their best known songs come from this album. From the epic opener War Pigs, the short but iconic Paranoid and the magnum opus Iron Man to lesser known tracks like Electric Wizard, Hand of Doom and Rat Salad, this record is full of killers. This is also the best Black Sabbath record for anyone who's new to the band.

1. Excellent album for real fans - Stop complaining that they aren’t metal like small children. They are mostly considered metal due to the sad excuses for “rock” music these days. They have stayed true to their themes from album to album and are absolutely exceptional on this one as well. Copia is also an upgrade but that’s my own opinion.

2. Actually not bad for a Metallica fan - This is pretty good considering what I listen too mostly but I don’t think it should be in the metal category. This is more like hard rock and even that is kinda a stretch. Apple is getting more and more lenient on the rock/metal categories and not putting them in the right places. Still good though.

3. Ghost with no soul - What a contrast from this album to the first. I loved the first album for its creativity, originality, and musicianship, however this new album sounds manufactured to sell large quantities, uninspired, and even disingenuous, sadly. The musicianship of course is still good, particularly the bass this time around, but many of the songs fall flat. Too bad. Boo.

4. Got my vote for best Album of the year: - Only been a fan of Ghost for a couple years, I have all the Albums and this Album is my Favorite...It’s a Work of Genius. Just wish the Album was a little Longer Minutes is a Tease. also why does iTunes not have the Deluxe Version of Prequelle with the Bonus Tracks

5. Surprised! - Had no idea who this band was untill iheard RATS on the radio and looked them up.
I remember seeing them here and there on different social media pages but thought they would be some kind of wanna be make-up gimmick band so passed them by untill I heard them on the radio. As the saying goes, never judge a book by it's cover the same goes for a band, never judge a band by how they look like. This album is GREAT and made me check out their other stuff!

6. Best Ghost Yet - Ghost has continued to refine and improve since . Prequelle is their best album yet the material is darker than their previous work but also catchier. Most of the tracks will get stuck in your head for days, and every track is great. It's my favorite album of the last two or three years at least.
2018-12-23
7. A solid album through and through - As my first Ghost album, this one has a special place in my heart. After listening to their entire discography, I will say that this is a very nontraditional addition to their musical canon, but that makes it all the better. Songwriting across the board is solid, the deep cuts (like Witch Image and Pro Memoria) grow on you until they become some of your favorite tracks, and while Helvetesfonster is not my favorite track ever, for an instrumental Miasma is just phenomenal. Looking forward to what they do next!

8. Fun for the whole family! - I saw Ghost BC in concert at the forum in Los Angeles and it was awesome. It’s like AABBA meets Metallica with Styx. Don’t be fooled into listening to the nonbelievers. Ghost is heavy and catchy at the same time. I enjoyed the Concert so much ... I want to listen again so i bought it.

9. A strong flip - I’ve been listening to ghost for about a good two years and I have to say, this album is pretty great. Sure there is a bit of metal but that’s how bands work, by having some flops in their music. Take green day for example a punk rock band that has made huge flops in their music and still is successful to this day.
2018-11-26
10. Stop Expecting the Same Thing - Tobias has grown so much as a musician and lyricist at the helm of this project. Prequella is one of the absolute best albums of the year is not the last years. From the typical bone crushing sound you've grown accustomed to in songs like Faith, and to a lesser extent, Rats to soul piercing ballads like Witch Image and See The Light, the album is a journey and best enjoyed (at least the first few times) as a whole work and not just individual songs.

11. Ghost is an amazing band! - It’s been a long time since I’ve been into a band, and Ghost is a nice addition to my favorite bands of all time list. This album especially hits the right chord with me. I love story albums in general. The way different songs connect with each other is a hallmark of good songwriting. stars well deserved!

1. Good. - This album is so good. The fact that they took a Queen song and made it sound good is so cool. Die Die My Darling’s tempo reminds me of old school Metallica. Turn the Page was a good song already. But, then Metallica covered the song. And then I heard “Tuesday’s Gone.” And I was like,”What an interesting, but good cover.”

2. @fukutsu - So you do not know who Thin Lizzy is?
Yes it is an Irish folk song and yes Metellica is amazing, but so was Thin Lizzy, maybe you should check them out.
Your hero's Metallica did and you know why? Because Thin Lizzy rocked their world so they are paying tribute.
Kids today, put your cell phone down, pull your head out of your backside and discover some more music.

3. Good music Improved - This album proves that Metallica can make pretty much any song sound good. Well, they did make many good songs even better, but now, probably not as much. So pretty much almost every song on this album is a huge improvement. Songs like Whiskey in the Jar, Turn the Page, and Tuesdays Gone are all major improvements from the original songs. I really enjoyed some of the others like Stone Cold Crazy, which was a nice one, and Am I Evil was one of their best covers. The best part about the album is that it being completely different from the other albums, because it is made entirely of covers. The biggest improvement will have to go to Sabbra Cadabra. The Black Sabbath version wasn't the best, but Metallica made even that song, a huge masterpiece. Whiskey In the Jar, Tuesdays Gone, and Turn The Page were also improvements. I'd say my favorite track on this album has to go to Whiskey in the Jar, and right when I first heard it, It was extremely good. My least favorite has to be So What due to it having a very inappropriate word. I heard probably the most inappropriate swear word in is song, so do not download this song. If you buy the entire album, do not listen to this song. In Conclusion, Metallica can make pretty much any song sound great, but now, the band is not that good. Garage Inc. is the last good album made by the band, because Death Magnetic was not that great. I actually like Load better than that, but this was the best album after '. Load was good too, but this was the best one.
2015-04-16
4. One of their best - Their cover of Turn the Page and Whiskey in the Jar are MORE than enough reason to purchase this whole album...but regardless of that fact, this is an unreal rock album by one of the all time best bands to ever live. Whether you think they have gotten soft or gone off their original road or not, this album isn't new and it's one of their more raw and amazing albums. Get this, you will NOT be disappointed.
2013-07-08
5. Instant classic!,,! - Been a Metallica fan since ! Metallica is the best at covering anyone. What's even better is when Metallica cover a song it becomes a Metallica song. No one can pull it off quite the same. You don't agree? Just listen to Mercyful fate ... Seamless think its just one song if you didn't ever hear the originals by none other than Mecyful fate. Whiskey in the jar! Great song . Complete twist on Bob Seger.

1. My favorite two. - My favorite two songs are “Devil’s Dance” and “Unforgiven II.” I would put “The Memory Remains” on there, but the old lady ruins the song. Fuel, Slither, Carpe Diem Baby, and Bad Seed are awesome too. All songs on this album are at least tolerable. Whoever doesn’t think so can go listen to Nickleback.
2022-11-13
2. Same deal as Load - There’s some good songs on this album: Fuel, Better than you, Slither, Attitude, and Fixxxer. I also don’t mind Unforgiven II. Beyond those the album is not that good. Bad Seed and Low Mans Lyric are terrible, but the rest is just filler. I don’t get the hype over Memory Remains or Devils dance tbh. More filler on here than Load imo. I’ll give it stars for the good songs.

3. For all you haters - I. want to say - Metallica will always be Metallica even if they do dance you will always listen to the album and buy it.
- Metallica’s darkest era is here LOAD AND RELOAD. ( songs like, until it slips, the outlaw thorn, devils dance, slither, fixxxer) - their look was changed yeah but James voice was really good on this two albums!. - you could Finally hear Jason’s bass to the fullest.
- songs like: king nothing, Fuel, better than you Prince Charming, really nice one. - if you hate them so much why bothering on listening to them?. You gotta get over it Metallica is one of the greatest bands of all times. If you are not a fan please reserve your stupid opinion, NONE CARES!.

4. All the whiners need to get a hobby - Huge Metallica fan since ‘ so I was broken in on Kill ‘em All, Lightning & Puppets (greatest metal album all time). Load was excellent, great to hear them expanding their horizons. Reload still pretty good. My issue is the ppl who say Metallica sold out OR just get the first five albums. You’re the type of ppl who must never enjoy new music, never try to enjoy something that isn’t in your comfort zone and have nothing better to do. How about this: if you’re gonna leave a review how about give it an honest couple of listens, whole album, then write an HONEST review. Or you could just go back to listening to nothing but old Metallica & thrash & hair metal for the rest of your extremely boring life.
2020-07-31
5. Not their best by a long shot but still decent - Don’t get what everyone is ranting about. I mean, yeah. This doesn’t even get close to their best music. NOTHING can top their first five LPs. It is a bit weird to hear them drastically change their sounds. But that’s okay. The songs are still SOMEWHAT expressive on this album. That makes it listenable, at least to me.
2019-10-21
6. This is okay, kids. - This is peak s Metallica. A mushy middle between Black Album and Load. Let's face it, fans, s Metallica was the band as its most overwhelmingly commercial success, and they rode the lightning in that bottle. years later, it's easy to get nostalgic listening to these once-fan-hated tracks.
2019-01-13
7. Metallica In Their Prime - To me, this is where Metallica truly peaked in Lyricism, Tone, Production, Melody & Riffs, Concept, Story, etc. Load & Reload are easily two of their best albums, but Reload edges it out in my opinion. Everything on this record just flows. Not a single bad track on the thirteen-track record. Every Metallica album is fantastic but this is easily their finest work. If you have not been willing to give ’s Metallica a chance, give The Memory Remains, Fuel, Slither, Or Bad Seed another listen. I promise it is worth it. Keep creating masterpieces, Metallica.
2018-08-13
8. Not Metallica, but definitely worthwile - The Unforgiven II is one of the best songs Metallica has released since the original Unforgiven, and the rest (The Unforgiven II included) is obviously Load-esque, but better. I think Metallica realized that the Load sound did not work well, but they didn't want to scrap the tracks they had that didn't make Load, and didn't want a bi-polar album, this is the result. That's respectable, and so I give this four stars. Load also is not bad, it's just not Metallica's best work, for sure.
2018-07-24
9. Why does everyone hate this album? - Fuel / Awesome opener
The Memory Remains / Awesome
Devils Dance / Underrated Gen
Unforgiven II / Absolute God Tier
Better Than You / Could have been better
Slither / Underrated
Carpe Diem Baby / Criminally Underrated
Bad Seed ./ Okay Song Where the Wild Things Are / Under Appreciated
Prince Charming / Good, could have been better
Low Man’s Lyric / God Tier
Attitude / Umm...
Fixxxer / Absolute god Tier and underrated

10. Its ok. - I have been with Metallica since the beginning.I have a mixed feelings about this.It is not bad album. But it is not great either and with Metallica I am used to perfection. This album has very good songs but also a few bad ones thats why the rate is stars. This is not metal but good hard rock.It is definitely better than Load and St Anger which is the worst album.
2016-03-14
11. Music with drive - People will argue the fact that this is not original coming from Metallica, all bands have different periods in they're careers where they experiment with new sounds, arrangements and styles. Personally, if a band wants to do these things, well that's a good thing because generally that's were a band learns and gets better at the craft of making music, which by the way is art.

1. A Masterpiece - I find it quite impossible to hate a single song from this album. Paul was a great singer, but the introduction of Bruce was a killer find for Maiden. And you know you did a good job when / of your songs are played on live albums. My only question for you is why you haven’t bought it yet. Up the Irons!
2021-06-10
2. THE Maiden Album - I write this today on my th birthday after redeeming an ITunes gift card and seeing The album cover took me back to th grade, the tv playing, my kids in the other room completely disappeared!! I was in my bedroom holding that album cover listening to it for the first time. The devil manipulating the people, but Eddie manipulating him..... brilliant! I’ve seen them live on different tours, definitely one of the best live bands and this is their best album.
2020-02-01
3. Baseball Dude is insane - Anyone that calls themself an Iron Maiden fan and doesn’t like this album has something seriously wrong with them. This is absolutely quintessential Maiden. Every track on this album is great. Iron Maiden has had many great albums, but this was the one that started it for me, and upon listening to it some odd years later it still holds up as just a great metal album. And Hallowed Be Thy Name is indeed one of their greatest epics.
2019-05-26
4. Not the Maiden we love - As a longtime Iron Maiden fan, it pains me to say that this album is just not doing it for me. I love everything they've done since th Son, and I'll even concede that The Book of Souls ranks among my favorite Maiden albums, but I just can't get behind The Number of the Beast. Here is a track-by-track ranking: . Invaders: /. With virtually no rhythmic variation in the verses and a chorus with an exceptionally weak melody, Invaders is unfortunately a good indicator of just how bad this album's gonna be. . Children of the Damned: ./. Bruce Dickonson has always been a vocal powerhouse, but his high-pitched crooning never sounds more out-of-place than it does on this track, which I guess is Maiden's attempt at a "doomy" track even though it falls flat on its face. . The Prisoner: ./. What is up with vintage Maiden starting their tracks with these weird, out-of-place monologues that always seem to ruin the song? Such is the case in The Prisoner, which one of the album's more solid tracks once it gets going. Now let's take a moment to admire that The Prisoner is one of this album's better tracks, yet it would rank among the worst on albums like The Book of Souls. Just goes to show how pathetic this band used to be. . Acacia Ave: ./. Boring instrumentals, lyrics are decent until about / of the way through the song at which point I don't know what they're trying to do with this song's storyline. . The Number of the Beast: /. I'm pretty sure Iron Maiden is aware of how little talent they have at this point in their careers, so they throw in a non-satanic satanic song to try to gain infamy among elderly Christians. Oh how original, a band writes a song about a nightmare they had about Satan and makes it their title track so that Christian leaders can publicly denounce it, increasing the band's exposure! Totally not ripping off Black Sabbath's idea for their title track. . Run to the Hills: /. People who support vintage Iron Maiden have touted this as Iron Maiden's best song ever. So I was very disappointed when I listened to it and it sounded just like every other song on this album except with a slightly better chorus. . Gangland: /. Even people who defend this album acknowledge that this song is pretty bad. Nuff said. . Total Eclipse: /. This song is so bad that Iron Maiden didn't even include it in their US release of this album. . Hallowed be thy Name: /. It is laughable that this song passes as an "epic" for a band whose catalogue boasts albums where the majority of songs are longer than Hallowed be thy Name (such as The Final Frontier). Iron Maiden is capable of dazzling, sweeping, satisfying epics, but look elsewhere if that's what you want. Overall: Very disappointed that one of my favorite bands could put out such mediocre garbage as this album. I guess you know what they say, you have to start somewhere. But really, this is where they chose to start? Sad! All right, this review has been long enough, it's time for me to click the "submit" button and then start listening to Brave New World, when Maiden was actually GOOD. Edit: some of y'all thought I was being serious, I just want to clarify that this review is a joke and I actually love this album. I don't think Iron Maiden is capable of making bad music.

5. Still holds up - This album or I should say Maiden in general were so innovative in there totally original sound and lyrics at the time of there first couple releases. This album is their nd best with piece of mind being a masterpiece of that new sound Maiden created here... sadly as more albums were released they were still good in the vein of being maidens own , originals sound... but nothing sounds new anymore from them ...they did it right in the beginning and made a career on those imo . I feel they worked out that Maiden thing here and just mastered it on piece of mind, and from then on out they just could not quite get that lightening in a bottle again....there’s a track or few of greatness after this album but nothing like these early albums . Dont get me wrong , I’m sure if I were to hear Maiden for the first time and it was book of souls maybe I’d think it was there masterpiece....I’d be wrong but it could be understood as the originality and musicianship of Maiden shines through on all their stuff ...even the synth /keyboard added stuff was good...

1. Great Collection and Now one of my favorite bands - You get no complaints from me, I enjoy listening to Megadeth their songs have grown on me so much. I have loved every second diving into who they are, you can thank the video game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock with their iconic trio that got me into Megadeth with Holy Wars.. The Punishment Due, This Day We Fight! & Sudden Death. (I mean if you want Tornado of Souls then go to the Rust in Peace album and purchase there or you can go on YouTube and find the HD version)
2022-02-26
2. A messy collection - While most of the songs included in this so-called gretest hits compilation are great, this is a bit of a messy collection; neglecting some staple songs and skipping and jumping in non-linear fashion here and there. Megadeth fans can just make a playlist of their favorites and move along.
2019-08-13
3. Only Megadeth songs I know - So don't judge me if I don't know what Tornado Of Souls is. Either way, I grew up listening to these and still admire them today. Why? They're GOOD!! This is probably why they remaster songs. So younger people, like myself, can get interested in older bands (Hence, a remaster by The Beatles, One). I already have A Tout Le Monde on my phone, and I don't regret it one bit. If you're not into this kind of stuff, I won't judge you, but PLEASE at least TRY the previews before saying that they want people to kill and stuff like that. It'd be a pleasure for me and your eardrums.
2017-04-04
4. Megadeath mega rocks - Hey a lot spoke for itself when former Metallica axeman Dave Mustaine came up with his own Rock Group and Megedeth gave Metallica a rocking run for the money. There are no cheesy Paula Abdul and They Might be Giants happy sappy pop music to be found. If you're eardrums can tolerate it this is a must listen.
2017-03-23
5. Correction - No no no. Metallica does have four horsemen. But Dave is the one who wrote the guitar for that song. So technically speaking, as I do love Metallica dearly, Metallica kinda stole the song from Dave. It even says it on the album kill em' all. They actually had to give credit to Dave for wrighting the guitar for a good chunk, if not all, of the songs on that album. But yes, compared to mechanix, the four horsemen is a way better song.

1. BACK TO THEIR ROOTS - …Which equates to this being their best album in years. “Sirens Charms” signaled an experimental phase for the band that lasted for three albums- all of which were noticeable departures from the Stromblad-Gothenburg styled formula that made them the central Melodeath band in metal. The albums were disappointing, ranging from ponderous pop-metal to noisy grinds without melody or originality. This album, however, brings them back to the “A Sense of Purpose” - “Sounds of a Playground Fading” era, with more of the successful snippets from their experimental era thrown in. The result is a true Melodeath album, with the heaviness and nuanced melodies we expect. Stand-out songs: State of Slow Decay, Meet Your Maker, The Great Deceiver, End the Transmission. Lesser/Filler efforts: Beginning of All Things That Will End, Foregone pt. , In the Dark. These aren’t bad, just not very memorable. The “In Flames” we’ve known is back. Hopefully, they stay that way.
2023-02-16
2. A Magnum Opus; AOTY Contender - In Flames' career has spanned years, and have traversed the metal landscape in ways that have won both acclaim and critique. Some fans prefer the mid-'s era, some came to love them in the 's, and even still more came on board in the 's. It is in that In Flames has, in my opinion, delivered a masterpiece. This is the type of artist-and-genre defining album that pulls no punches, and hits every right note a fan of the band through any one of their eras can embrace. The crushing guitars, punishing drums, and Anders' trademark growls punctuate their pre-release "singles", but it is throughout the album that we find both pain and beauty. The introduction track will evoke pastoral themes only to be replaced by the fury of State of Slow Decay, which only lets up when we get to Bleeding Out, which brings Anders' anguished and powerful singing to bear. The man exemplifies the balance melodic death metal deserves. We are treated to deeply evocative and highly relevant lamentations in A Dialogue in B Flat Minor, which arguably could be the standout piece of the album. Anyone who has ever struggled with their own demons will appreciate this piece more than any review can say. The penultimate track Cynosure is driven by the bass, not guitars, and it's a refreshing and welcome change in a band known for fireworks in the twin guitars and a mor "in the pocket" rhythm section. Finally, Anders implores us to End the Transmission because what this world is offering is not what we all deserve. This album deserves to be in conversations for Album of the Year - in only February! - and if it not regarded as "In Flames' Best", it should be in the Top . If you heard the pre-releases, the rest of the album is as good if not better. This is the type of album you can listen to front to back, a rarity in modern popular music. Bravo, In Flames. Bravo.

3. Their best? - The short answer is yes. This is finally somewhere in between their early transition and their mid to late transition. But better. It’s in the sweet spot between aggressive and melodic. I don’t think there is any song I’d call the best IF song ever, but collectively it’s a very sting album. I couldn’t leave any of the songs off my playlist. Old school IF fans may disagree but secretly, they’ll be listening to this over and over. Well done gents!

4. An album for old fans and new fans alike - This has been said by others, but this is the first album in almost years which recaptures the feelings I got from those original albums. They’ve taken those aspects and combined it with their newer style to come up with something very unique and cool. The year is young but I’m going to call it early, album of the year.
2023-02-10
5. Welcome back to Gothenburg - In Flames has always had a stake to the original gothenburg metal sound. They were the pioneers alongside a select few others. The original sound of Swedish melodic death metal was formed in the early s and had a very unique identity among the metal world. In Flames earlier work set the standard for the melodies and template required for this sound. Judging In Flames by their older work of nearly years ago is both unfair and unrealistic, but its the world metal lives in. Foregone manages to sound familiar to long time fans such as myself, never losing the melody driven In Flames sound. This album is a massive achievement, sounding both new, old, and fresh. The overall feel of this album is defiantly the "new" In Flames sound; with a few ballads, a few heavy bangers, and finally, a complete feel.
2023-02-10
6. Welcome BACK - Ok, In Flames is back. Not whoracle or Colony back, but they finally figured out the perfect blend of old and new. The newer In flames type sounds are so catchy, it’s ridiculous, thanks Howard Benson! The biggest surprise is the drumming. By far the best drumming on any In flames album. Top five metal album of the year!
2023-02-09
7. Good so far...but it has to bed said. - They have got to stop with the loudness of these songs. Make the album sound as clear as possible and let US crank it up. We don't need the engineers to make every song sound like garbage (looking at a waveform per song...don't have to look like a brick!). Don't let the recordings go 'off the wave charts'...let the song breathe. Remember, we have voulmes on our devices... we control the loudness, don't control it for us.

8. I’m Actually Excited!! - In Flames is usually a band that I ignore when new music gets dropped. Matter of fact, I only own every album made before . I decided to listen to their release and was very surprised at how good it all sounded, unlike their previous efforts after Clayman. This new album might be a ton more heavier and that’s truly beautiful. I’m gonna download this and I, The Mask eventually. It’s always awesome hearing legendary extreme metal bands return to greatness in some form or another. I hope Opeth and several others do the same.
2022-11-22
9. Incredibly excited - I started listening to In Flames in so this is the first time they release a new album while I’m a fan of them so I feel like this one is gonna be special. I love the singles my only complaint though is that they announced a February release in September. The wait at points could be agonizingly long
2022-10-16
10. Awesome - I don’t normally write early reviews, but the first singles are an awesome return to form for a legendary melodic death metal band. They sound angry and melodic, just like they used to. I can’t wait to hear the entire album, but I’m guessing it’s going to be a monumental return to their roots since all singles are incredible. I enjoy all In Flames, but I really love it when they mix angry, heavy, melodic and beautiful all in one, which is exactly what they’ve done here. It’s the heaviest they’ve sounded since Clayman. In my opinion, which doesn’t matter much, Foregone Part is the best song they’ve put out since Only For the Weak. February th can’t come fast enough.

1. Refreshingly New & Unique - I honestly haven’t been captivated by any band in decades like I have been by The Hu. It’s even rarer where I like every song on an album. Somehow their music seeps down to my core and it’s something I haven’t felt since I was a teen. Even more amazing is I don’t understand a word they’re saying yet it somehow speaks to me. They’re goal is to bring a fusion of traditional Mongolian music and it’s throat singing with modern rock, which they have been influenced by the likes of Metallica, Rammstein, Manson etc. So it’s no surprise they would have modern West singers be featured. For some this ruins it, but I say that’s in line with their fusion. And if the features don’t suit you then just listen to their originals. Give them a listen. You won’t be disappointed. /

2. ORIGINAL AND UNIQUE - It's really rare to hear something so original and unlike anything else you've ever heard. This is, without question, the most authentic and interesting band I've ever heard. There unique voices and instuments really grab hold of the senses and get you going. This is just fantastic and I love that they're creating music with various artists and exploring their creativiity. Super Good!!!

1. An Underrated Classic - I often hear non-metalists and early listeners dislike this album, but it’s a personal favorite of mine. My only dislike (not of the album) is that the tour for Caught Somewhere in Time wasn’t released on streaming platforms. Maiden take my money! I think the hate comes from the fact that Bruce was burned out from the Live After Death tour and couldn’t write lyrics, but Maiden did an excellent job in filling that gap. Absolutely phenomenal job on this one. Up the Irons!

2. Caught somewhere in a time machine! - If you’ve heard this album years ago or just listened recently you will be transported to To one of the best Iron Maiden trips. Between the album art and the music you will be bouncing from the future, the past and whatever the present is. This album to me was the best maiden album. The sound was still maiden mixed with synth guitars and outrageous lyrics. This is one of rocks masterpieces. I am surprised to not see more reviews but Few people nowadays support real music and musicians. They’re probably reviewing Beyoncé....

1. Best performance ever! - Everything about s&m one is perfect. years and it never gets old. It came out in when I was . The songs all have meaning to them. The lyrics. The orchestra. It’s in my opinion Probably the best music that ever came out. Definitely worth the price you’ll pay for it and many times more.

2. No Leaf Clover!!! - I've only gotten into metallica for the past years (no regrets), what really got me into them was playing their gh game (which was amazing and it Top for best GH game hands down to me) and No Leaf Clover was the song that got me really into them! Amazing live album all the way, legends dare to do the unthinkable. Metal & Orchestra is a truly beautiful thing, Metallica’s strongest album since Black in . My advice to any Metal-Head: listen to it, enjoy it and love it

3. Permanently in my car's CD player - Most people when they get pregnant crave ice cream. For some bizarre reason I craved Metallica! I had to hear them on a daily basis, so initially I just liked the double CD idea so I could have more songs all at once. But then the added orchestral sounds with the Metallica genius was such a mind blowing experience I couldn't get enough!!

4. Amazing - I just listened to this album for the first time in a few years recently and it blew my mind. It was blowing my mind the whole time but when I got to The Outlaw Torn, I nearly died from the awesomeness. In my opinion, this is easily the best live album ever. It's also my favorite Metallica album and one of my favorite albums of all time. My favorites on here are probably The Call of Ktulu, Master of Puppets, Bleeding Me, and The Outlaw Torn. They are all great though and I highly recommend buying this album.

5. So unique and well done - Can't say it's my favorite Metallica album, but I can't say it isn't my favorite either. It's just amazing how powerful the orchestra adds to each song. Wish they would have had more original songs specifically written from the ground up for the pairing, but I'm not complaining. I love what they did here.
2014-08-26
6. Only missing one thing... - First off, this album is % perfect in every way. Good sound quality (which can be difficult live), good song choice, and, most importantly, the orchestra is fully utilized. It sounds great, and honestly, every version of the songs on here are my favorite versions of said songs. I'm really impressed altogether... BUT... No Fade to Black? Really? Come on! If any song deserved an orchestral accompaniment, it's Fade to Black!

7. A Collaboration Worth Applauding - Coming from someone who is a fan of both metal and classical, I felt this blend was perfect. They did it just right. Maybe they could've emphasized a bit more on the symphony bits, but it was done tremendously. Things like this could be handled terribly and in the end sound less than appealing, but here it worked out so well. Not to mention its a unique idea.

8. Strings Metal AWESOME! - At first, I wasn't sure what this would be like. When I thought of symphony I thought of stuff like the four seasons and beethoven. i couldn't imagine how that would pair with metallica's fast loud beats. But then I listened to this album, and loved it! It's a perfect match. The symphony compliments the music so perfectly; when I go back and listen to the original, I imagine the symphony part going with it. Great Album

9. Poorly Executed - S&M should have been so much more. I will always believe that they didn't emphasize the unique aspect of the Orchestra enough into the pieces - instead they turned an entire Symphony into background noise. The song choices were clearly geared towards their current albums (Load and ReLoad), while the albums that would have benefited the most from a symphonic version were the Big of Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and ...And Justice For all.
2013-02-06
10. A Sweeping Metal Masterpiece - This album is not only a bold work for Metallica but a seminal, singular work on it's own. Within we find a dynamic contrast between the blistering ferocity of Metallica and the eloquent sweeping orchestration of Michael Kamen. What makes this piece stand out from every other rock w/ symphony album is Kamen's unique score crafted around the straightforward metal. What this collison makes is an intricately layered masterpiece. The Outlaw Torn, Hero of the Day, and Bleeding Me stand out. Quite simply it's Metallica's Magnum Opus.
2013-02-03
11. Forgotten treasure - I had this album when it came out in the 's and lost it somewhere along the way. Wow, how did I go this long without it? I'm not a huge Metallica fan, but I am a huge fan of this LP. The orchestra adds such a different and great dimension to some great songs. Hero of the day brings a tear now that I'm a father. I liked the song before but never really got it until now.

1. A Good Starter - Yes, this album does not contain the complete versions of “Iron Man,” it is still a worthy collection to possess in your collection. Black Sabbath was a revolution when it came, with the presence of Ozzy and his haunting cowl. This is a perfect ensemble that shows why Black Sabbath is one of the most important bands of our time. You want to get heavy? Here it is.

2. Good Collection But There Is a Better Choice - While I really like this album, if you are looking for a good collection of Sabbath hits, you are better off going with We Sold Our Souls for Rock N Roll. That album includes the all of the best hits on this album, but also has Laguna Sunrise, Fairies Wear Boots, and a couple of others.
2014-02-01
3. Perfect Album To Get Into Sabbath - If never heard Sabbath before, get this NOW! This is what got me into Sabbath. After listening to Iron Man (cuz that riff gets stuck in your head and wont get out) and Paranoid, you have so many other tracks to check out. The Self-titled song is great during Halloween, N.I.B. is incredible, the Wizard is fun, War Pigs is great, Sweet Leaf is another riff that doesn't leave the head either. Changes you could relate to if you just lost an incredible relationship. Children of the Grave still sounds awesome and the other songs I love on here are Snowblind and Supernut. I would suggest that you get all of those first.
2014-01-16
4. Metal Pioneers! - Downloaded Paranoid then a few song off this to complete my Sabbath must haves on my iPod. I remember listening to this stuff on my Marantz back in the 's how things have changed but, Sabbath is still as slick as ever. Kind of like that old Marantz it's aged like fine wine. OH YEAH!!!

1. ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE! - Randy Rhoads' final recording is an absolute gem that still holds up today. One of those few albums I can listen to from start to finish without skipping a song. The song Diary of a Madman is an amazing finish to the album and my all-time favorite Ozzy song. I'd give it stars if I could.
2022-08-29
2. Ozzy’s best - Ozzy, Randy, Bob and Lee were in absolutely top form when they recorded this album. I first heard this album in about and honestly it has not only stood the test of time but gets better every time I listen to it. Solid from the opening drums on Over the Mountain to the killer instrumental part at the end of Diary of a Madman. The musicianship is amazing, the songwriting is phenomenal. If you are even just a casual fan of metal, this one is a must-have. And get the original, not the re-recorded version.

3. An evil album!! - Great album! Sounds more energetic and heavy and evil than the first album, which I also love. I would say my three favorite songs are You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll (I love it when they have Oz singing along with himself an octave lower, something that was done on Black Sabbath/Sabotage), S.A.T.O. and the title track. The only song that I don’t love is Little Dolls. A great album.

4. All Rhoads Lead To Madman - Both “Blizzard of Oz” and “Diary” are Stone Cold Classics. I’ve always favored “Diary” though, largely because the album is so diverse. The title track is a sprawling macabre masterpiece that covers a wide range of musical territory...it sounds fresh every time you listen. “Flying High Again” should be considered metal’s official party anthem, while “You Can’t Kill Rock n Roll” boasts such a sweet and memorable melody; it’s easy to see the Beatles influence on Ozzy’s songwriting. “Over the Mountain” is one of the finest opening tracks of any rock or metal album. Double bass drums pound with fury and precision while Randy Rhoads’ rhythm guitar inspired the decades of guitar driven rock that followed. “Believer” features one of Rhoads’ most sinister and innovative riffs, and ranks among his finest. Ozzy has delivered many fine moments during his post Sabbath career, but this is his best.

5. Two greatest ozzy songs - This album isn't as consistently good as Blizzard but it has the two best Ozzy solo songs...Over the Mountain and Flying HIgh Again. Those two songs are well worth the cost of the album. That isn't to say that there are no other great songs. Purchase this and search through a body of great work.
2016-10-15
6. Diary vs. Blizzard. - The reason Diary doesn’t sound as “good” as Blizzard is because Ozzy and camp were rushed to get this album done and back on tour. They didn’t do too many overdubs on the guitars to give it a slick sounding produced album. This is still a must have album to have in your collection. As on Blizzard, Randy Rhodes shines through on this Diary.

7. Saw the tour for this album and it change my mind… - I was very fortunate to see Ozzy on tour in Oakland for this "album." I wasn't a fan and only went because a friend of mine asked me to go. The show changed my perception of Ozzy and it got me to take another look at Black Sabbath. I keep coming back to this album because it’s old school, straight to the point rock. Randy Rhoads is awesome and Ozzy is Ozzy!
2014-11-30
8. Every bit as good! - The ballads are great too. This album is more stylistic and progressive than Blizzard. The studio albums and the live “Tribute" must be kept together, inseparable, precious, and treasured with love. No single note should be discounted. You’ll wish there was more. Sadly, this is all there is.

9. ozzy osbourne diary of a madman - stick with the origional if possible. This here Remastered version has put a bad taste in my ears. I gave it one star cause I now have a GIF or JPEG of the album cover, Thank God they didn't foul that up with technology as they did with the sound. My guess is the producer of this diamond turned to coal was in love with Mr. Osbourne's voice. I want my money back and the love I once had for the masterpeice that was. DONT BUY THIS REMASTERED VERSION. I am sorry that I did...

10. Greatest Ozzy Album Ever!!! - Many people often argue over the first two Ozzy releases and which was better, but while Blizzard Of Ozz has all amazing songs, Diary Of A Madman sounds more matured especially sonically and in all of the performances. The band Ozzy, Randy, Bob and Lee all are on top form. All of the tracks are masterpeices. Over the Mountain opens the album heavy followed by the hit Flying High Again, the longest track and a very catchy tune You Can't Kill Rock n Roll. Believer starts off with a classic Bob bass line followed by great riffs and rythems. Little Dolls is also very catchy and classic Ozzy. Tonight should have been released as a single as well, its just a great ballad that builds over time. S.A.T.O. showcases Lee's monster drumming ability and the bands speed. The mtrue masterpiece and my favorite ever Ozzy song is Diary Of A Madman. It is so creepy sounding and so emotional and dramatic, and contains some of the bands best playing and Randy's most matured guitar work.

11. Love ozzy - This album is great, personally i think blizzard of ozz is better at some points and diary at others.
I'm going to do a review for each song.
.Over the Mountain- Great song, awesome way to start off an album, very catchy. I think this song is a big feature of how high Ozzy's voice could go. / . Flying High Again- I absolutely love this song, its got a cool rhythm to it and it flows smoothly great job done by the band on the original tracks. / .You Can't Kill Rock and Roll-Probably my th favorite track on this album absolutely stunning, and the outro solo is very moving, I think this song is great for listening to sitting on the bus and looking out the window hahah./ .Believer- A personal favorite. Great video game motivation, that is when i listen to it most, and the live version is even better than the recorded version./ .Little Dolls- not one of my favorite tracks but still very good, its about a serial killer. So i usually don't listen to it. / .Tonight- My second favorite track off of this album. This song is slow paced but a good song either way. It has two solos, and the outro solo for this song is just purely amazing. I hate that the ozz man had it faded rumor says the solo is about minutes long, sadly we only get about . / . S.A.T.O.- There is a lot of mystery to what the name stands for if you listen to the lyrics you would think it stands for "Sailing Around The Ocean" or something like that. Any way this is my number favorite track, it reminds me of Randy Rhoads the guitarist featured on this album and the album before, i'm not sure why. It's a catchy song if you listen to it enough./ .Diary of a Madman-My absolute favorite song off of this album, its roughly minutes long and its purely amazing. The intro is only about seconds long and gives me goosebumps each time I hear it. The solo is short and not really needed but its still amazing. It heavily features the guitar as the bass and drumset are barely heard. / There you go, great album, love the s. Its worth your money and i'm not sure whether this is the original bass and drum or not but if it is its worth even more than what its being sold for. Hope you enjoy the album as much as i do.

1. METALLICA!!! - You can hear the crowd as they are screaming and shouting for the best band alive. Or even ever. More than likely ever. Best band ever. This is Metallica in all their glory. If you are not a Metallica fan though start off something small like The Ecstasy Of Gold. But for all you life long Metallica fans like me, GET THE ENTIRE FRICKING ALBUM!!!!! GO METALLICA!!!!!!!!

2. Spectacular - Though it came shortly after James changed up his singing style, this is the band at its peak, with their live performances in Seattle and San Diego being the only ones I’ve heard that can compare. It would also be nice if they’d release those shows in this capacity too. It’s a steal at this price.

3. This is the Metallica I Remember! - The ONLY live album you will ever need. Prepare to have your eardrums blown out not just by Metallica but also by the crowd! From start to finish, it remains loud as this was when Metallica was in their greatest form. No collection is complete without this. Do yourself a favor and get the boxset!

1. Not like the original cd version - I have the original cd disc version. The cd version has Shot in the Dark on track (Miracle Man not included) and the second disc has Fairies Wear Boots, Behind the Wall of Sleep and an interview with Ozzy from . This iTunes version is good but I would recommend finding the cd version.
2017-02-25
2. I don't want to change the world - live version Be careful; when looking for songs it is easy to purchase the wrong one as you cannot see the full title of the song until after it is and downloaded. I accidentally purchased the live version of this song, and have probably wasted $ the same way. In college as an architect on a shoe-string budget this is frustrating especially considering how liquid (easy access to cash or financing) apple is as a company. Since many of the previews start in the middle of a song, not to mention at differing times, choosing correctly is doubly difficult. Until apple makes its applications as flexible as its business structure, be cautious when buying songs. Just my opinion though, I've never written a review.

3. Still love this compilation! - I bought the cd when it originally came out back in . I loved every bit of it. I was stoked to find it on iTunes, except one thing kinda angered me. The original compilation had Shot in the Dark on track , and this one doesn't. I wonder why, because that was my absolute favorite. Miracle Man is a good replacement, but they should have kept SITD. I unchecked the basement tapes because they are absolute crap. Just listen to the original Sabbath records if you want to hear those. BTW iTunes........WHERE'S BLACK SABBATH???? I'm dying to pay for Iron Man!!!!
2013-03-27
4. One of the Best Albums Ever!!!!!! - This album is composed of songs from various time periods in Ozzy's career. Mr Crowley, and Crazy Train both feature Randy Rhoads as the guitarist, Randy was one of the best guitarists of all time, but he died young in a plane crash while attempting to buzz Ozzy's tour bus. The remaining songs feature other guitarists including Zakk Wylde, in Mama I'm Coming Home and No More Tears. I would highly reccomend this album to anyone, because it features different styles of music. Hope this helped, enjoy the album.

5. very lacking, a waste for the most part - If you're looking into getting a compilation album, get The Essential Ozzy and spare yourselffirst and foremost, the guitar solo was EDITED OUT of No More Tears. the basement tapes are a disappointment and the tracks that were chosen arent exactly the most popular songs Ozzy has ever produced. Sure, his ballads (Goodbye to Romance; Mama, I'm Coming Home; and Back On Earth) are good, but should be left out of a compilation album where they'd rather hear a razor-sharp riff from Randy or Zakk. if youre looking to own every piece of music ever produced by Ozzy, just buy Back On Earth and forget the rest of the album
2009-03-28
6. Got me started - This was the first Ozzy album i ever had, I heard "Crazy Train" and that spurred me to being a lifelong fan of the godfather of rock. This album is missing alot of good songs, and the Black Sabbath tracks on this aren't very good. The re-issue of this album was missing "Back on Earth" and it's a great song. over all, a great album, if you can take the bad with the good.
2009-02-15
7. AWESOME!!! - this album was the first Ozzy album i ever got so it is always a favorite i like how it includes some of his most popular stuff along with some other not as popular stuff but the black sabbath stuff at the beginning is kinda weird because the original recordings of those songs are a lot shorter than these versions still, great album
2008-12-08
8. This is where I started with Ozzy... - and now that I've become a fan and I've gone back and acquired some of the first few Black Sabbath records. Then automaticly, I realized the lyrics to War Pigs is different to the basement recording that I've been listening to for awhile now, which I think is pretty dark and brutal for it's time. No other artist in wrote lyrics about throwing a priest into a fire, which is prolly why they changed the lyrics on the album. If your an Ozzy fan but have all these, then getting basement tape of War Pigs is a must! The other stand-out track on this is the Paranoid track done live with Randy Rhoads. If you're a fan you could listen to that song a times and it wouldn't get old. This time is no exception, I think the energy of Ozzy and Rhoads together when listening to it makes me wished I could have witnessed it. Not sure exactly what year it was recorded but I would have prolly been only or years old at the time. In closing, after years of listening to all awesome different kinds of things that are metal, I am so greatfull I finally gave Ozzy a chance.

9. CONCERNED! - IS ANYONE WRITING THESE REVIEWS KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT AN OZZY ALBUM AND ARE ANY OF YOU OZZY FANS?IF YOU ARE THEN YOU WOULD ALREADY KNOW THAT THIS NOT AN OZZY ALBUM AND IS JUST A BAD BEST OF? ...I WONDER IF SOME OF THESE REVIEWS ARE BEING WRITTEN BY SOME SHIRT/TIES AT APPLE?...HMMMMM??????HEY....CAN THE REST OF YOU GET MUSIC-WISE....SEEK DIO.

10. im confused - i have gon through several sabbath albums on itunes and this is the only one so far that has ozzy. i wanted to buy hole in the sk but they didnt have ith and i also wanted to buy paranoid but had to buy the the live version which isnt that bad. and also why is sabbath under rock, THEY INVENTED HEAVY METAL.
2008-06-30
11. Ozzy is a god!!!! - this album is by far the best ozzy album. the only problem is it doesn't have iron man or i don't want to stop, but it makes up for it with every other one of the best songs that ozzy has ever made. Ozzy Osbourne Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. It sounds better/different - This CD came out my senior year of high school. It took some time for me to warm-up to it after listening to albums: Kill’em All – And Justice For All. This is a great remaster in my humble opinion. It has become a classic CD (I’m old) from one of the greatest metal bands of all time. I will always be a lifelong fan. Thanks, Metallica for all of the memories.
2021-11-23
2. Come On Now…. - My problem is not so much the remaster, even if many of you say “Don’t buy! It’s the same record” well I don’t own it anyway so that’s not going to make that much of a difference to me. But the thing is I noticed that the older album has the digital booklet for the album which is only a “album only” purchase” This newly remastered one doesn’t have the digital booklet but yet it’s the same money. Why would the record label go on do that for? What? They’re trying to tempt you by saying “Get this fresh remastered one here, no booklet or get the older one with the booklet”. It seems the record companies play mind games with their customers for some reason, there’s no rhyme or reason why it should be one or the other. Why this version does not have the album digital booklet is a mystery to me. Oh well, silly mind games that they play. Someone has too much time on their hands.

3. Sounds Great Everybody Just Has Bad Headphones - This album sounds clearer and the instruments sound like they’re wider too since technology has also improved stereo mixing over the years and it sounds fantastic. People just need to have better sound equipment or trained ears to pick up subtle things.
2021-10-20
4. This album introduced me into Metallica. - Yes, this isn’t anything close to And Justice For All… or Ride The Lightning, but it is still great for what it is. This album has it’s own light and I believe its dynasty still lives on. All the songs on here are amazing, I always have a hard time picking out my favorite song out of the album. Please do understand that there wouldn’t ever be another Metallica like the AJFA era.
