1. Seriously- So Good - I actually became aware of the Decemberists by reading the music review page in a weekly news magazine. Though I hadn't heard a note, the description of their music told me I had to have a listen. That was about years ago and I now own all their albums. The King is Dead is definitely not representative of the Decemberists' "norm". In any case, it is a fantastic album and I loved it from the first listen. Yeah, some songs have a little country feel to them but I'd call it more like folk. If you like excellent composition, some story telling and intelligent lyrics I think you'll love this album. We were fortunate enough to see the Decemberists play live recently at an outdoor venue. If you like this band, I recommend seeing them in concert. It was one of the most enjoyable shows I've seen. Colin Meloy interacts with the audience well, and they played a ton of songs; many from The King is Dead.

2. Incredible Album... - This is my favorite album of all time. It's a truely beautiful masterpiece both musically and lyrically from the first second to the last. It's an album full of life and youthful spirit that reminds me of all the best things in life: spring, summer, and good friends. Worth buying and cherishing. Thank you Decemberists.

3. Heard them for the first time on A.C.L and was hooked! - This is a surprising good album, very few albums hook me right from the first listen, but this album does just that!
I first heard most of this album from the appearance they made on Austin City Limits and was blown away by their live performance. Definitely worth a listen!

1. Helped me get through - Back in , I had just gotten into college and after breaking up with my long-distance girlfriend I fell into a deep depression. I felt trapped in a mental prison of my own making. The songs "Make a Move" and "Get Well" resonated with me and let me know that I was not alone in my feelings and helped me get through with the help of my physiatrist. We need more artists like this. Thankyou.

2. One of those rare albums where every song is great! - I listened to this entire album back when I hardly knew anything about this band, and this is what got me into them. It's difficult for me to find an album where I like every song and don't have to skip through any of them. This is one of those rare albums. Scripted is a beautiful blend of modern rock, punk, and pop, sprinkled with electronics and strings. Ariel is an incredible singer and songwriter. These guys are original--they perform songs they wrote themselves, and they're pretty dang good at it. My all-time favourite song would have to be Pieces, the last song, while some stand-outs were Theatre, Get Well, The Grey (awesome ballad!), and Up in Flames. Love Icon for Hire!

3. Nothing compares! - This album speaks to my heart and soul...I've never had the same experience with music, not even music that I wrote myself! This will always be my favorite album no matter what else comes. Nothing could ever compare to the feeling and goosebumps that each and every song in it gave me. Keep this up Icon For Hire!! You are my new favorite band!

4. Love I.F.H.! - This album is great! I've been listening to it for almost yrs now :) I've been in love w/ Icon For Hire fan ever since I heard 'Make A Move' for the first time. Then I heard 'Get Well' & liked it even more & decided to give the album a try. Boy am I glad I did! If you haven't heard this album or their follow up sophomore album then you are missing out! I know this review is a lil late lol, but better late than never I always say! ;p

5. A great album to heal and replenish the broken-hearted. - This is the only album I listen to from this band. I don't like their recent songs, and I don't pay attention to their Icon for Hire album because of the electronic elements. With that being said, I believe that this is them at their best, pouring love and care into their music while giving an edgy and cheeky attitude. They give out important messages for everyone to listen to.

6. A New Kid on the Block: Ariel Rocks Intro Battle! - Throw Linkin Park, Paramore, Flyleaf, and Three Days Grace into a blender. Add some pop, piano, and a touch of pink, and you get Icon for Hire! Criminally underrated, this new alternative rock group is absolutely awesome! And “Scripted” is the album that put them on the map. My only criticism is that, while the lyrics and songwriting of Ariel (REL) are fantastic (mixing the heartbreaking sympathy-driven themes of Breaking Benjamin with the socially critical lash-outs of Rage Against the Machine), the music itself plays a bit safe, unlike their highly experimental second album. But this is one for any rock fan searching for some awesome female vocals and good old teenage revolutionary pop punk!

7. One of the best albums I've heard - Every song is fantastic, even the intro. Part electronic, part pop, part alternative. This is a band anyone can enjoy. The vocals are solid, the lyrics are creative and moving. Songs like get well and make a move are insanely catchy and bring the beat and intensity while songs like the grey and only a memory are hard hitting and relatable. All around phenomenal effort, worth every cent.

8. :D - I LOVE THIS BAND!!! I first heard Iodine on Pandora, and fell in LOVE with it! I felt like if the bands Halestorm and Paramore were to have a love child, it would be Icon for Hire. Simply awesome music with a cool style. :D Totally worth it to check out if you like bands like Paramore, Halestorm, Linkin Park, Evanesence, etc. ;D

9. Just what I've been waiting for! - I've been looking for a awesome christian heavier rock band for a while now. I can only stand the so called "Pop" christian music for a little bit. Finding Christian music that doesn't make you fall asleep is hard enough but finding a more interesting band with metal/alternative/electronic vibe is seemingly impossible. I had used all my options : Flyleaf is no longer together (I had all their cds), Ive exhausted my RED and Fireflight cds, and my Letter Black cd can be a bit depressing. With all my christian music wore out by my playing it ALL the time, I had turned to secular music (Not a great idea) I was listening to Pierce the Veil on itunes radio when "Make a move" came on and I got super excited that there was a band I never even knew about that was christian and heavier rock/alternative. Thank you sooooo much!!!!!! I'm so blessed by you guys! Please keep on producing more great christian music! :)

10. One Of The Best Lyrical Albums To Date - I've had this album sitting on my iPod for about a year and a half now. All of a sudden, about three weeks ago, I had this urge to listen to it. I've always liked "Iodine", but this time around I really HEARING the lyrics of this album. I love this album start to finish. First off, can people please stop comparing Icon For Hire to Paramore. Actually, stop comparing ANY female fronted band to Paramore. Thank you. I'm not going to waste your time with why ICF is NOT Paramore; listen yourself. The instrumentation of this album is fantastic. The occasionally synth and electronica feel being blended with hard rock drums, guitar and lively bass is fantastic. I have a profound love for Ariel's voice, and her piano parts. However, the real ground breaking factor of this record is the lyrics. Ariel did a brilliant job. I find the lyrics sticking with me for all the right reasons. I wake up and go to sleep with them in my head not because they are catchy, but because of how I FEEL them . Each and every word provkes thought and is incredibly honest. All of the songs have incredible lyrics, but if I had to choose some highlights I would say... The bridge of "The Grey", the entirety of "Get Well", the chorus of "Make A Move, every second of "Only A Memory" , and, of course, "Iodine". Please, if you love honest, real lyrics give this record a listen.

1. "No Rain" overshadowed this album and band's talents! - Of course I was a big fan of their hit "No Rain" and they may have been pigeon holed into being a 'One Hit Wonder' overlooking this gold mine of an album showcasing this band's extensive talent! They can do it all; Pop, Rock, Metal, Folk, Country, and Blues!! I just wish Mr. Hoon stuck around a bit longer!! RIP.

2. ClassOf ' - I have to agree that this is a top album from the entire 's. it's great from start to finish. That simply doesn't happen any more. The musicianship is outstanding and the sounds that were emerging during this time of immense musical change can be heard in a very raw form here. Just really great music. And if you're not familiar with it, give it more than one listen. You'll be happy you did.

3. My Soul One!!! - I have literally had this album in my cars CD player for over ten years. Not the same copy or car. I learned to burn copies and use those keeping original safe I can listen to it over and over only skipping No Rain. People who don't like this album,or any BM album, do not like music that sings to your soul. Shannon Hoon Genius

1. Bless! - God bless this heavenly creation, for its words are intense though soft,
meaningful though relaxing, and may millions of people experience its delights! Songs about depressing break ups blended with happy euphorias, songs like Happier, The Beacon, Blow Away, New Heights, The World Without, Coming Around, Electric Twist, Swan Song, Elements, Bird of the Summer, Stood Up and What I Wouldn't Do are this albums real strong points.

1. Wow - I had never listened to Amos Lee and it was only by chance that I heard "Simple Things". I bought this album based upon that one song. BEST decision I ever made. I will be collecting the rest of his albums now. If you don't like this album, you're insane and should question you're very existence. Seriously.

1. Interested in the new songs, already have his albums - Love the new song, I’m glad Noel resorted back to making real music again. The first High Flying Birds albums were great and then he transitioned in electronica/pop/dance which I didn’t personally care for. Hearing this new song reminds of his better days of songwriting!

1. Another masterpiece - I'm an objective fan. I can see how I See Everything and Happy Pocket are no Cake. But When TS returned with Weightlifting, they hit it out of the park. It's even more impressive than Cake. And now, with Wild Pendulum, they created another masterpiece -- perhaps not quite as strong as Weightlifting -- but a worthy addition to their cannon. Buy this now.

2. Rewards the wisdom of buying it every time. - Been a fan from the beginning and love every album, the B sides, the live recordings, etc. This is a great addition to the catalogue, and the best part is Frank is singing most of the time and not whispering, which has been his default of late. There are only a few musical entities surpassing an uptempo Trashcan Sinatra's song, and they give us a few more this time. The lyrics are always a delight and never get tiresome. Keep it going!

3. Perfect...again. - The shame, as all TCS fans know, is that this is only their th album in gulp years! However, as we also have come to expect...the waits are so worth it. Wild Pendulum is remarkable. Frank's voice is on showcase throughout...even more than in the past. (And his voice has never sounded better!) What's Inside the Box and I Want To Capture Your Heart are heartbreakers that won't ever leave you the same again. It's a quaint album, with the average song length barely over -minutes. But there's a variety of genre, here, that harkens back to A Happy Pocket. Can't wait for their next album...in ! Enjoy...

4. Found Their Mojo - Not that anything this band has put out is subpar but this record is a rediscovery of that sound from "Ive Seen Everything " and "A Happy Pocket" , two of my favorite albums not only from this group but of all time. I love the guitar riffs and up tempo songs along with the slower ballads. Frank's voice sounds as great as ever . Irregardless of genre , this is great music and song writing. Connects with your soul!!!!

1. Classics Revisited - No new songs for the most part here but masterful renditions from his back catalog. The acoustic playing is great and the recording sounds great. His voice is stronger and sounds the best. I think Teddy Thompson is singing back up on a few of the songs. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I got this CD! My rating is five stars! Uncel Joe's Tunz

2. Masterful Renditions - Richard Thompson is widely regarded by serious music fans as one of the greatest guitarists/songwriters of the last years. He is also a superb vocalist. Unfortunately, he hasn't the name recognition and media attention reserved for far, far less talented musicians. Happily, for those of us who are devoted fans, this makes him more accessible and allows us to enjoy a musical intimacy with him that would not be possible if he was given the spotlight that shines on artists like Dylan, McCartney, Clapton, or many of the lesser talents who occupy pop, rap, and hip-hop spotlights in contemporary music (too many to cite here). On this second collection of some of his most beloved songs, performed solo on acoustic guitar he proves once again his mastery of his instrument and his genius at composition. None of these tunes are new, per se, but many have only been heard by most people either with his legendary British folk-rock band, Fairport Convention, with ex-wife Linda Thompson or his own Richard Thompson Bands, in most cases, electric and amped. Hearing them solo acoustic almost makes them seem new, yet owing to his prodigious skill as a guitarist in no instance do the songs feel as they lack instrumentation. His guitar covers the bass, rhythm and lead lines to a degree that might appear to those unfamiliar with his skill, to be two or three guitars playing simultaneously but incredibly it's all RT. Moreover, his unique, haunting baritone voice brings a warmth and an "Englishness" to his singing that is his singular vocal signature. His voice has improved dramatically since his early days, in range and power, that is remarkable. He is a complete performer and a peerless professional. Of course, for his devoted fans, who will certainly be familiar with every song on the album, this will be required purchasing. The collection spans almost the entirety of his career, selections from his FC days right up to much more recent compositions. If you're an RT fan you'll love this just as you did his previous "Acoustic Classics" album. It seems he has left room for a third acoustic album at some near-future date, quite possibly one of acoustic rarities. The man's catalog is enormous and still growing so I imagine he could continue to grace us with his musical genius, hopefully for many years to come. Of late, with his name recognition and media exposure expanding, he may yet alter his reputation as "the greatest guitarist/songwriter you've never heard of." Those of us who love him and his music have been aware of his greatness for decades. Buy this record!

1. Rarities Indeed - this is excellent. Some of these songs go way back to fairport convention days. They are well done and updated here. Also, I have never heard many of these songs. The recording sound is excellent. The acoustic guitar playing is beautiful and his voice sounds very good and stronger as he gets older. Five stars plus in my book and one to treasure. 1. I thank thow SO MUCH!! - I am TOTALLY thankful for what you did. I couldn't get the accual Teenagers because my mom would murder me because of the language they used. I LOVED the tune though; it's very catchy. And plus I play the imaginary violin (i know im weird; don't remind me) and I can now get a clear image of playing this song. Thank you!

2. That was suprisingly good! - MCR sounds really nice with Classical! Unlike that idiotic cd they made for Green Day in BLUE GRASS,which totally ruined their songs! But there is just something about how My Chem writes their songs, that makes it compatible with classical...Because they are both so beautiful.

1. Yes, Virginia, there is a PUGWASH!!! - What's this? Jason Falkner producing Thomas Walsh for his next musical collective?? Not since Jeff Lynne was announced as the producer of the reunited Beatles record had I been so excited for a project! And now "Silverlake" is here, delivering on all hopes imagined, in shiny new blue vinyl (or CD...or digital download). Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus! True artistry in pop rock lives and breathes! The popsmith pairing of Walsh's songwriting/vocals and Falkner's cranking, driving, sometimes lovely, sometimes raucous production is something to behold! This kind of mastery of melody is rare these days and I certainly hope these two get a chance to join forces again. It's an absolute triumph from start to finish!

1. Great!!!! - I really REALLY like this follow-up from Neon Horse. The fusion of New Way and classic Rock is a powerful combo! The swing-dancing/big band rendition in Chang Gang really shows NH is capable of expanding and trying out styles to achieve a unique sound. I really really hope there will be a third album. I would get it for sure!

1. Worn out welcome - I used to love EB but they have become old and tired. None of the newer stuff has broken any new ground. It all just sounds like the same old re-hashed riffs and chord progressions from the first several albums. Not only has Stephen Jenkins come out of the closet as an ignorant left wing nut, but musically he has clearly run out of ideas. Note to rockers.....leave the politics to the talking heads on cable news. It's not good business to alienate a significant portion of your audience. Mr Jenkins, go back to thinking about just music and stop using the band to push your nutjob political views on everyone that you come into contact with.

2. I AM A PRO REVIEWER! - First of all, I am a professional reviewer so your amateur opinions don't matter one bit. This is a GREAT album if, for no other reason, how Steve Jenkins stuck it to the Republican Party in Cleveland! For that alone, you can hear the spirit of this great band. Ignore the amateurs and pay attention to somebody that does this for a living. Get this album NOW!

3. R.I.P. Third Eye Blind - Well, my favorite band is no more. This album is a LONG way away from the artwork the band used to produce. This has become the Stephan Jenkins show, and not his best work at that. It all sounds virtually the same. The depth and soul are no more. Truly saddened by this album. If you prefer the old eb sound instead of this garbage, check out XEB! They've got two original guitarists and the original bassist! If you're wondering where eb's quality went, I suggest looking them up!

4. Alright - A little too poppy for my liking, and the songs don't feel too different from each other. Still pretty solid, though. SJ's lyrics are as good as ever, so that's a definite plus. Probably EBs worst album, but still good... Nothing close to their first albums in terms of general quality and entertainment value. As you can tell I have.very mixed feelings.

5. Fun Album! - I've never taken EB too seriously and dig their sound. But the previous two albums seemed like Steven was out of gas. This one is fun and hooky and is good to listen to from start to finish. Is it a rock masterpiece? No. But it's a good EB album and I can picture almost every song worked into the live show with their best previous work.

6. Yes, TEB is still rocking! - This album requires multiple listens to really appreciate everything. The lyrics have great depth and the sounds and tones produced by all instruments are awesome. THIS is why TEB is still my favorite band. You hear something new every time you listen. I love all the layers and builds. Great work!

7. I actually like it... - I see a lot of negative reviews for there to be as many star ratings as there are; I guess the people who like it are just giving stars and that's it. I really do like this album. Yeah, it's a bit "poppy" more so than an alt rock album, but that's the direction alt rock is moving towards, and the lyrics are still genuine and meaningful. TEB has always had some pop tunes so I don't think this album is a staunch separation from their usual sound. There are several really excellent songs here - I highly recommend the album.

8. The Stephen Jenkin Show - It is the Stephen Jenkin Band. With his drummer Brad. Everyone else is temporary. Finally after countless months of waiting and the release finally went. This albume is different from the rest but as you know people come and go but Jenkins still has control of his band. The music is great and I will never compare to any of the previous. Stephen and Brad a bit older, newer band mates and lets continue to watch the band move in the direction they're moving.

9. Hm.. - So I saw these guys in June in Chicago and it was amazing. Their music saved me when I first found them. This album took a few listens.. You have to put aside what you're expecting from their past albums in order to really enjoy it. There's a few songs I don't really like but this album is worth the stars. I was disappointed at first not going to lie but after a few listens I was hooked. It's different but there is hints of the old eb all throughout the Album.. Absolutely love it !

10. This album brings me back to the start of ed. - I have heard the album over and over and will continue to because this is one of my fav albums, it took a while for a new album to appear since ursa and tjis is much better. I loved them in concert. Too bad most [people in the concert only knew the old stuff.
Great album to enjoy again and again, Thank you eb

11. Dopamine! - It's been years since they came out with another album and this one is amazing! They have evolved with this album and are experimenting as should all great bands. Saw them in SF in July and they rocked the crowd! Tunes: Back to zero, get me out of here, dopamine and Rites of passage are my top favorites. Good job Stephen and band!

12. The loose strings - Is this album their best? No. This is eb last album & knowing that I think they chose a few songs that had been written years ago & never made it. Exiles throws you back to Out of the Vein's Misfits. I don't think this album was meant to be groundbreaking. They've done that already. With this being the last, they chose to tie up the loose ends. It takes time to like this album I admit. With ,,& being my favorites. eb blew us away, but now it's time for their goodbyes. I'll miss them terribly.

13. eb fans will love it - I really enjoy this album!! I've been a fan of the band since their debut album when I was obsessed with their music and videos. It's really great to hear some new music from Stephan and Brad. Unlike some other posters I realize that Stephan is now and he's not going to write the same lyrics or music he did years ago, nor do I expect him to. People grow. Bands evolve. I've always seen this as his band anyway. I think the heart & soul of eb is still prevalent in this album. Something In You is one of the best songs I've ever heard & reminds me of the reasons I loved older songs like Deep Inside of You & Motorcycle Drive By. There are a couple songs I really don't like but I feel that way about any album. I'm really glad they made this album and I'm enjoying listening to it every day.

14. Exactly what I hoped it would be - I'm a big Third Eye Blind fan, but I listened to this as objectively as possible. And despite some of these reviews, I think it totally is true Third Eye Blind. Maybe some of the people who left bad reviews had expectations that no album could match after all these years. But the sound of this album, the lyrics, everything about it is on par with previous TEB albums. I'm totally happy with it.

15. Has it's moments.... - The Third Eye Blind saga would make for an interesting coffee table book should all the sordid details ever get released. It has most certainly been a long and bumpy ride that started out with so much promise. Flash forward to today and it’s hard to believe the yr old CEO and President of EB Inc. is playing to is fans less than half his age at these shows. Such is the rock and roll life of a “star crossed pimp” and the music of EB has obviously crossed over multi-generational lines. For any band, this is a wonderful scenario. I approached this release with trepidation and this is the first EB release that I did not find myself too excited over. This may be in parts to all the various personnel changes that have occurred in the past decade.
There have been so many casualties that have been left as mere “footnotes” in the story of Third Eye Blind.
We have a cavalcade of engineers, producers, writers, musicians, management who all played a critical role in the ascension of Third Eye Blind.
In short order they jettisoned guitarist Kevin Cadogan, bassist Arion Salazar and then guitarist Tony Fredianelli by the wayside.
Yes, greed and ego are powerful stuff. Now onto the review at hand, “Dopamine”
Everything looks good on paper but can this latest incarnation of “EB INC” come through?
Yes and no. I will say it features a lot of what we’ve come to expect from EB. You’ll find the trademark huge slab of melodic sensibilities and pummeling rhythm playing followed by the cherry on top (lead guitar). You will definitely find some decent songs on “Dopamine”, but there is nothing here takes me into the stratosphere that I had from previous EB releases.
Plenty of light and shade, but somewhere I feel like it just lacks the firepower that was there before. “Bonfire” from the last release was a brilliant structures song and nothing on here even comes close. Nope, I’m definitely not going to drink the kool-aide. I suggest going back and listening to all of the other EB musical output and coming back to this in a few weeks. Listen to some of the EB influences too, such as Led Zep, The Who, The Clash and The Police and then come back to this release. Sorry, but I’m definitely not going to rank this one better than any previous EB releases. That said it is a solid album from start to finish but I believe it suffers from the loss of certain key musicians.
The album boasts some great lead and rhythm playing as well as solid beats of the always dependable Brad Hargreaves.
“Everything is easy” is a catchy tune and perhaps the obvious lead-off single. It’s not bad but not something that blows the listener away.
“Shipboard Cook” builds up and blasts off for a brief moment but tends to lose a bit of steam as it progresses. But rest assured this is definitely one of the stronger songs on this release “All the souls” is yet another catchy song where Mr. Jenkins sings in his upper register. I would rate this a bit higher among all the songs here.
“Dopamine” is a variation of several tunes from the self- titled album with varying degrees of success, but a strong track none the less.
“Rites of Passage” may just be one the strongest track here. It definitely features one of the best guitar solos on the album. “Something in you” is an assault on the senses and is welcome addition to the EB cannon of music.
“Say it” is also a track that will rate highly with the EB faithful. Yet another standout guitar driven track with exceptional leads. Some of it might be chalked up to the fact that it appeared the band was imploding every few years with threats of personnel changes, infighting, drama and more drama-shades of The Who. But this band has only released studio releases in the years since Jenkins with the help of many others got this show on the road. Quality not quantity you say? Well, that argument might hold some water but when one looks at many bands from the ’s, ’s & ’s, many released great music every single year or two. Makes you wonder how a great always imploding band like The Who released studio albums in years (-)
At one time I felt that EB could have left a mark on the musical world as big as The Who. They had the chemistry and band personnel to create some incredible far reaching music. Sadly, personal agendas and greed got in the way and it was not meant to be.

16. Not Bad - I'm not a super hardcore eb fan, but they have quite a few songs I absolutely love. Contrary to what some people were saying, I thought this album was pretty good, better than I expected from these guys being out of their peak for awhile. My favorites are "Everything Is Easy" and "Dopamine", just some chill tracks.

17. Your auditory senses shall rejoice - Dopamine is a fantastic album for the true music lover. Third Eye Blinds sound from their freshman album, to Ursa Major has had some dramatic changes, but this is to be expected from any group who was birthed in the ’s. With that said, they are one of the few groups that have successfully integrated classic alternative rock sound to the new sound of today. This album is an example of that kind of harmonious union. Your auditory sense shall rejoice. So if you love music then and now, you will love this album.

18. More of the best! - OK, I love their song catalog and I am so happy to have more to listen to!
"Everything is Easy" is classic eb, all hooky and riffy with all sorts of undercurrents abounding. Then there is "Rites of Passage" , "Back to Zero" which are interesting variations of their usual style. Maybe a little musical maturity or is it just old age? Anyway, I love them both. Then "Something in You" and "All the Souls" start out slow but end up rocking royally. Not sure where this fits in in comparison to other eb stuff, only time will tell! I think it's really good so far!

19. Classic EB. Perfect - Self confessed EB fanboy checking in... I loved Out of the Vein so much. The hard driving rhythms, the great lyrics, what an album. Red Star is one of my favorite songs, ever. Songs like Sharp Knife and Why Can't You Be are forever EB favorites. The first albums speak for themselves. Dopamine feels like all of the albums combined. Beautiful, well crafted songs. if you like Third Eye Blind, you will love this record.

20. Love the energy of this album! - Very happy that I purchased this album! eb has definitely evolved for the better. Lots of great riffs and lyrics. Just saw them live on their tour and it was amazing. Lots of favorites on this album: Shipboard Cook, Dopamine, Back to Zero, Something in You, and Blade just to name a few. :)

21. Seriously? - I cringed as I gave this one star, it deserves zero. Let me say, I am obsessed with eb. I never get tired of listening to any of their previous albums. Third eye blind has a very distinct sound, but pretty much every song sounds the same. No lyrical or musical depth. I just don't feel anything when I listen to any of these songs. Stephen, what happened?!

22. I want to love it - I've given this album at least listens and have found bits and pieces that are inspiring but I have to agree with many of the reviewers below (the ones that actually listened to the album and are fans of the previous work - as opposed to the shamless average rating-raising drivel). The session musicians that Jenkins has used to replace two unreplaceable members of the band just don't cut it. I'm sure they're great people and solid musicians, but Arion Salizar's inspired base lines/backing vocals and Tony Friedanelli's guitar phrasings were truly special. I may be in a rare camp that liked Tony better than Kevin Codogan only because Out of The Vein is my favorite of the three real albums. Ursa Major was just simply incomplete. It's too bad that eb goes wimpering out with a sigh instead of a bang, but there's nowhere else to look but at Jenkins approach to all things eb. Beyond the music he's simply a narcassistic dbag that drove some of his best writing/arranging partners out. I have loved seeing them live...until he opens his mouth and starts talking. It literally sends shivers down my spine. But, the quailty song writing is undeniable and this band will remain one of the best in history. Perhaps we'd be saying the same things about Jim Hendrix or Kurt Cobain if they'd lived to the age when they can no longer make music like that which launched them into company with the best. I will say that hearing the new songs live, gave me a better appreciation for them, but I just can't help but be let down. It may be best that we don't get any more studio recordings from the 'Jenkins Project' as another reviewer called it.

23. Amazing - Third eye blind you have done it again! I love every song off this album beginning with the catchiness of Everything Is Easy, to Say It, with its epic ending. So sad u guys arent making another album after this, but it was definitely a hell of a way to leave. I wish i could give stars! stephan jenkins is my hero

24. love - The sound is maybe slightly different from their normal routine, but it's been so long since their original music that everyone is getting hung up on missing their old sound. Honestly, true fans grow with their favorite bands. There is absolutely quality music on this album. You've got to give it a chance and really listen to what Stephan is putting out there. I love it and this band.

25. People are too harsh. Victim of their own success. - People are hating on this album way too much. It's not as good as some of their other ones, no where close to their first album (the best in my opinion) this album isn't breath taking but there are some good songs. Everything is easy, rites of passage, dopamine, and back to zero are pretty good, none are bad they're just not as good. As a eb fan people should be thankful they're still making music instead of just hanging it up like sugar ray did. Always wish they would have came back. But all in all this is a solid album. People just hate on it because their other albums are so good. Victim of their own success.

26. Major let down - Every single one of these songs is forgettable. The only song reminiscent of the eb I know is "Something in You" and even that is drowned by the mediocrity of the rest. I've been to eb shows and I go to have fun and rock out. This album makes me want to sit in the corner of a dark room, put on skinny jeans, and write in my diary lit by my burning tears.

27. Good not Great... - Our lead man Jenkins has aged folks. But not so much so that he isn’t aware of what makes a hit. His lyricism, though not as driven and dark as it once was, is still a strong point of the music. Subjects touched upon are naturally not the subjects he wrote about twenty some years ago. He has matured and it shows in the songs’ nature. The music itself is strong for today’s pop. And let us not get this confused. Pop has always been an aspect of their work, and it has a strong showing here… but there is instrumentation, and instrumentation goes a long way in the pop world today (a world where bands have multiple members, many of which contribute virtually nothing in the way of instrumentation). Overall the album is catchy, cohesive, and memorable. The latter two being of key importance and making the album worth purchase. They may not be what they once were, but they aren’t what you’d never expect them to be either.
