1. Sounds Like Originals To Me - Nice collection of songs that might not normally be found elsewhere. $ for songs is good value. They sound real to me, not like re-recordings. It’s possible they’ve been remixed and remastered which would make them sound slightly different. But re-recordings usually sound pretty obvious to me and I haven’t found any obvious re-recordings here. Also it’s not from K-Tel so there’s that.

1. STEREO just doesn't do it justice! - The MONO version of this album was SO MUCH better. The MONO mixes were so much more solid and powerful, while this 's version of "stereo" just doesn't work for me, with all the vocals coming out of one speaker and all the instruments coming out of the other. Also, on this particular album there were a couple of songs on which certain instruments were ONLY included in the MONO versions of the songs, for whatever reason, while the stereo mixes were missing those additional instruments. A perfect example of that is on the song "Poor Little Puppet" in which the MONO version includes alot of additional orchestration that is completely absent from the STEREO version offered here. So my overall review of this album is that it is a GREAT Jan & Dean album, but cant' really be appreciate fully when listening to these bad stereo mixes. If the original MONO version were available here on Itunes I would download it in a minute and I'm sure other fans would as well.

2. wrong album review - the Itunes review here is for Jan ansd Dean's "Golden Hits Vol "; the pictured album--and the listed song titles--are for "Golden Hits Vol "; Jan Dean's early recordings--"Jennie Lee"; "Baby Talk" and the others for ; ; or so, will in time be recognized as far superior to their later "Surf" and "Hot rod" songs--Jan was a pretty bright guy, so it no surprise atah the songs included on "Vol " are great all the way through--this is one the finest "Best of" lps ever released--buy it--!!!
